Barn Wedding

Phil at Manna Music made our wedding experience the best me and my wife could have imagined. From the start he walked us through the steps we needed to take on how and when we needed our songs selected. His website form was so easy to use and made our selections so much easier to make. Phil even took time on a Sunday to meet us to go over our selections and walk us thru the steps and order of our wedding. This was all the pre work he made easy, the actual night of the wedding he was spot on with the timing of the songs and quality of equipment. He timed the crowd perfect on when and what songs to play. Everyone had a blast, I never scene so many of my family members dance and have fun the entire night. If you need a dj I would recommend Manna music he exceeded my expectations.

We had the best experience with Manna Music! Phil was amazing! We had a meeting to talk about the wedding and what exactly we wanted! He wanted the day to be just as perfect as we did! The wedding night was a place not a single empty spot on the dance floor. Definitely will book again for any other event! Highly recommend!!

The Perfect DJ for the Perfect Day

Phil and his team at Manna Music did an incredible job at our wedding - not only was the dance floor never empty, but he meticulously planned all the details with us ahead of time, listened to everything we needed and the requests we had, and just overall knocked it out of the park. I couldn't recommend Phil for any event enough, and will certainly be using him again for all of our DJ needs. Thank you so much Phil for helping us have the perfect day!

Wonderful Experience

From the very beginning, Phil was communicative, organized, and thorough. During our ceremony and cocktail hour, he went above and beyond by supporting our live musician with the sound system and even had all the music queued up as a backup just in case—it gave us such peace of mind.

For the reception, we provided him with a playlist, and he did an amazing job mixing in our requests while also reading the room and adding songs that kept everyone on the dance floor. He also acted as MC, making sure the order of events flowed smoothly and stress-free for us. We're very happy with the way things turned out and we recommend him to anyone looking for a professional and fun DJ!

Great Job Manna Music!

We booked our wedding just recently with Manna Music. DJ Phil was the best! He was very professional, and you could tell he has a lot of experience handling tasks like this. He knew exactly what we needed for the event. We spent quite some time creating a song list, intros, toasts, etc. His documentation and templates to fill out were very good. That gave us a good perspective of what to expect for the big day.

Intro and dinner music was very good. Once the dancing began, Phil exactly how to keep everyone on the dancefloor! We had many children at the event, and he had a special set ready for them to enjoy. That was fantastic. Setup and take down were done without a hitch.

The next time we have the need for a DJ, Manna will be the first company we call. Thanks again!!

Great music!

Phil was awesome! He met with us beforehand because he wanted to feel out the vibe we wanted for our wedding. We were able to make a list of “must play” songs. He had a great mix of music that even had grandmas & grandpas on the dance floor! And just really helped with the whole flow of the evening by keeping us on time!

Look no further- hire Manna Music!

Phil from Manna Music was simply the best! From the very start, he was very communicative, friendly, and helpful. He did not pressure us at all (as we all know many wedding vendors do) and had great recommendations throughout the whole process (we rented uplights from him for our wedding reception as well). Our dance floor was absolutely packed the whole night and everyone had a blast!! He has a talent for playing to the crowd, and we have had so many of our friends and family compliment him and inquire about hiring him for future events of their own. Highly recommend!!

School Event - Amazing

Manna Music DJ was simply put the best dj for our event. Mark was beyond professional and so kind. He made sure to have all the songs that we requested and if he did not have them, he downloaded them immediately. Mark's equipment that he brought including lights were perfect. I will never go to another dj for one of my school events.

Professional and knows music!

Phil was the DJ at our friends' wedding years ago, he blew us away. Phil knows how to mix, knows the latest songs, and knows the classics. He knows how to work with other professionals. Most recently he was the DJ for my nephew's wedding by my recommendation. Everyone was out on the dance floor. I'd change the date of an event before I'd try another DJ! We have been at other weddings where DJs are unprofessional, don't know what they are doing, or have poor sound systems. You don't realize it but the DJ can make or break the day, it is really worth it to find a great DJ!

The best!

Phil was awesome to work with! He’s professional, experienced, detail oriented, and easy to communicate with. The music portal is very user friendly and we had lots of phone calls and a meeting before the big day. We had an idea of what we wanted played but he helped fill in some blanks and he really knocked it out of the park! The dance floor stayed packed the whole night. From guest arrival to cocktail hour to dinner & the reception, everything was perfect. I’m getting so many compliments on the music and that’s all thanks to Phil. He made our night so special. What A Great Experience!

Our officiant referred us to Manna Music and I'm so happy that he did. Phil is an amazing DJ. He was so very helpful with everything, and all of his years of experience really shows. You can tell that he genuinely cares about his job and takes it very seriously. He always asked questions to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted, he answered any questions that we had, and he also gave suggestions. We trusted him and he did a great job and helped make our special day even more fun and memorable!

We really couldn’t have wished for a better experience with our DJ. From the very beginning Phil was very responsive and helpful. He gave great tips during the planning process, explained everything to us, and even coordinated the ceremony flow. It seemed like he really wanted to get to know us as a couple. We really felt he went above and beyond and felt like he was part of the family. Our dance floor was packed all night and everyone raved about the music selection as well as the transitions between songs, he even came dressed to impress. We wouldn’t change a thing. Our day simply wouldn’t have been the same without experienced, caring vendors like Phil.

Phil is beyond exceptional as a DJ. He really was a partner through it all, asking many questions, getting our feedback, and really listened to our guidance. We included multiple 'non-traditional' elements such as an extra dance and grand entrance, and he did everything flawlessly. In terms of the music, we gave guidance but Phil crafted a music set that had everyone dancing until 1 am. I'd highly recommend Phil and Manna Music to anyone looking for a DJ.

Collaborative Efforts to a Rockin' Night!

We heard about Phil from an old vendor list from our original vendor- Cafe la Cave. Getting a good DJ was super important to me; someone who will work with me on the playlist because music is incredibly important to me. From my first phone call with Phil, I knew we'd be a good match. He and I were focused on striking a balance between keeping the dancefloor groovin' and playing songs that were meaningful to us.

Throughout the planning process, I gave him Spotify links to my respective cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing playlists. He gave me full control of the cocktail hour and dinner playlists, which was an absolute JOY for me to manage (trust me, I would have DJ'd my wedding if I wasn't so busy as the bride).

About a week and a half before the wedding, Phil met with us at a Starbucks to go over the Spotify dancing playlist that I'd been concocting. I wrote all the song names in order on a Google Doc and printed it for our meeting- after checking them on his online playlist-building tool. Phil had a lot of great feedback to share about songs that fit together in "mixes". In this meeting, we added and cut songs to make the perfect wedding playlist. He told us that a lot of couples let him do the playlist building but he was excited to encounter someone who valued the music playing a part in making the day special as much as he did.

Phil knocked it out of the park on our wedding day. The blend of songs was so much fun and engaging for everyone. I didn't even get to the sweets table because I was on the floor all night. He even took some requests from our guests that fit within the mixes we'd already set up. It was a great night and Phil was a HUGE part of it. Thank you for everything, Manna Music... and don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like an apprentice. :)

Best DJ Ever

Phil helped everything move along as smooth as it could. There was never an empty dance floor. He was very responsive and coordinated with me numerous times before the big day to make sure everything went according to plan. He had a great selection of music that appealed to all generations of attendees. Phil truly loves what he does and works hard to make sure everyone has a great time. He DJ'd my Sweet 16 party and ten years later DJ'd my wedding. It was an honor to have Phil with us on our big day.

Great DJ and MC!

We loved Manna Music! We specifically worked with Phil. He was so attentive, calling us to talk and make sure the list was the way we wanted it. He was also the perfect MC, and did everything down to writing down phonetic spellings so he got everyone's name right. He worked so well with our venue's coordinator, and he even doubled as photographer when we needed some late night shots of the dance floor. Highly recommend!

Our BEST vendor by far!!!

DJ Phil from Manna Music is absolutely amazing. He did my sister-in-laws wedding, and the dance floor was packed the entire night. So we hired him for our wedding and he did not disappoint! From the very beginning, Phil was extremely responsive and attentive. He made sure to discuss our music style and vision for the day with us, and it was very clear that he was passionate about his job. He wanted the night to be a success just as much as we did! The night of the wedding, he did an outstanding job MC'ing and announcing everything. And most importantly.... the dance floor did not die down ONCE. The amount of compliments we got on the DJ was incredible. I had so many people tell me "that was the most I've ever seen people dance at a wedding". Phil did an amazing job of playing the songs we really wanted to hear, and mixing in other ones to keep the crowd happy. If you do anything for your wedding, HIRE MANNA MUSIC!!!

Amazing DJ

Phil was amazing from start to finish. He was always very communicative and quick to respond. As we got closer to the wedding, he even went out of his way to meet with us in person to get to know us and review our timeline and playlist. On our wedding day, he kept the evening flowing according to our timeline and played all the right songs at the right time. Phil was Amazing! PACKED Dance Floor

Phil was everything we could ask for in our wedding DJ! Took the time to get to know us ahead of the event and what kind of music we liked. Was very detailed from the name pronunciations (Had some tough names and he crushed it) all the way to the last song. It was a perfect night and Phil helped make sure of it. Phil saved our wedding!!

ABSOLUTELY recommend Phil w/ Manna Music for your DJ needs! Our original DJ completely ghosted us the day of our wedding and Phil literally saved the day!! He was at the venue and ready to go in less than an hour! Everyone said they wouldn't have even known there was an issue because he did such an amazing job. He got all of our songs down for the cake cutting, entrances, bouquet toss, etc. and was able to read the crowd for the rest. The dance floor was NEVER empty. 10 years ago, my cousin hired Phil for her wedding and it was the first time my entire family was on the dance floor at a wedding. Even my 70 y/o Grandmother was busting a move. We had so much fun, I had always hoped he would be available for whenever I got married.

THANKFULLY he was!

Phil was wonderfully professional and went above and beyond in making sure our day was set up for success. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, he made sure to ask any and all questions the make sure we all knew what to expect, corrected and updated audio files that I inadvertently corrupted, AND was able to get all my relatives back on the dance floor.

I can only speak for Phil, but I know all his other DJ's are wonderful to collaborate with as well!

Great Job Phil

Not only a great DJ, what a great guy. Used him for our wedding and to my surprise the DJ was the most complimented of all the vendors. I was shocked how many people called in the next few days after the wedding saying how great a job he did. Used his services again in July and he knocked it out of the park. A Night To Remeber!

Words can't express how happy we are that we had Phil DJ our big day! Phil was super understanding and provided great feedback to our ideas. Our big day consisted of mostly friends, so we asked Phil to make sure the dancefloor was bumping at all times. We wanted our reception to feel like a big party and Phil exceeded expectations! We can't thank him enough for the great job he did. Everybody said that our wedding was one of the most fun they have ever been to! I highly recommend having Phil DJ your big day. You won't regret it!

P.S. He showed us a phenomenal chicken spot as well. A fantastic DJ and a food connoisseur, what more can you ask for?!

Manna Music is Amazing!

From the first conversation I had with Phil, I felt confident I had chosen the right DJ for my wedding. He listened so well and thought of every detail that I didn't. He takes his time to make sure everything he is doing is the way you want it and when it came to wedding day everything came together so well and I received many compliments on my DJ! Phil even set a part time out of his schedule to visit my venue weeks before my wedding to make sure he knew the venue well, so set up would go well without a hitch on the actual day. I will be recommending Manna music to all my friends for their future weddings!

Still the best decision!!!!!

Amazing experience!

Mark was an amazing DJ!

Mark was absolutely amazing to work with and I’m so glad he was able to DJ my postponed wedding ceremony. I was able to go through his program and select “must play” and “do not play songs.” He was very accommodating and worked with us on some special songs requests we wanted for the ceremony and reception. Our guests absolutely raved over the music selection, and Mark did a great job catering to all ages. He took our favorites and was able to weave in amazing songs we hadn’t even thought of to keep people dancing and happy all night long. I am so grateful for the special role Mark played in our big day. We waited a long time for this wedding, and after a COVID cancellation and a rescheduled wedding, having the music taken care of and so thoughtfully curated meant the world to us. Phil at Manna Music is exactly what you want for your wedding DJ. We had Phil DJ our ceremony, cocktail hour, and wedding reception at Riverside Receptions in Ganeva, IL. From the very beginning, it was clear that Phil is a professional in his craft with years of experience. He takes pride in his work, and his number one priority is to make sure your wedding goes exactly as you wanted. His website simplified the planning process which made our wedding day less stressful. Phil arrived early, made sure everything was setup on time, and periodically checked in with us throughout the night to ensure everything was on schedule and going to plan. After our horrible DJ from Admit One Dj Company failed to provide their services to us because of Covid-19, my husband and I came across Phil from the knot's wedding reviews and boy were we happy we went with him. Phil is the most thoughtful, kind, and most fun DJ. When it came time to discus the wedding, Phil personally took us out to lunch to discus exactly what we wanted for our wedding. He honored everything we asked for, even when he had to tell a lot of guest who were requesting music no to honor my husband and mine requests. Exceptional Experience!

We used Manna Music for my daughters wedding, Phil was extremely professional and helpful in the process. The dance floor was full the whole evening with people enjoying themselves. All of my family and friends raved about what a great time they had and how the music made it perfect! Phil is the best!

Phil made our wedding night absolutely amazing! He was very attentive in the weeks leading up to the wedding to make sure all the music was just right for our ceremony and reception. Our venue can be challenging with sound since the ceilings are so high, but he set the room up perfectly so everyone could hear with limited echo. For those of you who do not want details, here is the cliff notes: If you want a DJ to keep the dance floor packed the entire night, then pick Manna Music. For those of you who want details: When we first met Phil (aka Manna Music) we took away the following: he was polite, he would respect our wishes, and he would keep people on the dance floor all night long. Fast forward to our wedding, he kept his promise. The dance floor was not empty one minute once the dancing started. Going back to the first meeting, Phil informed us that the most important thing to him was to respect our wishes. If there was a song that we told him not to play, he would not play it. Also, at the first meeting, Phil provided us with a website that contained thousands of songs. The best part about the website was that it offered convenient sorting options (i.e. Songs for the processional, songs for the first dance, songs for the father/daughter dance, ect...). We were required to give him a song list for the wedding before our final meeting with him (approximately 1-2 weeks before the wedding). At our final meeting, Phil review our song list as well as the pronunciation of everyone in our bridal party. He also gave us great insight on how to schedule our night (i.e. when to do the first dance, when to do the cake cutting, when to do the speeches, ect...). Without his help, our wedding would not have gone as smoothly as it did. On the wedding day, Phil arrived on time and took care of himself the entire day. That alone made him one of the best DJs you could book. We promise that if you book him, he will take care of everything. Phil also provided the audio for our ceremony, which came through crystal clear and was audible for our entire audience. Thank you Phil for making our night so wonderful, we cannot express how happy we were that we chose you to be our DJ. To the future Mr. and Mrs. reading this, we promise that if you book Phil, he will give you nothing less than a 5 star performance!!

Our DJ, Phil from Manna Music was fantastic!!! My wife and I spent some time presenting & reviewing music with Phil prior to our wedding!! Phil gave us feedback on the music that we requested. He knew what people want to hear & dance to at a wedding. He came thru, people told me that it was the best wedding they have attended. People attending said it was the best place list at a wedding ever. The last song was the Beatles "Golden Slumbers, Carry That weight, The End". Phil is awesome!

We are so lucky to have found Manna Music. Phil was the perfect DJ and for a great price! Once dinner was over, our guests did not leave the dance floor. My family explained that at every wedding they go to there is a lull in the dancing where people take a break but Phil had them on the dance floor all night! He was so easy to work with and was such a big help picking songs for different parts of the night. The whole process leading up to the wedding was so easy and organized. He even worked with my maid of honor to surprise me with a rap for her speech. He is such a nice guy and did an amazing job! Thank you Phil!!!

The best dj, the best night

There is not enough that we can say to complement Phil! He was more on top of the wedding planning than we were and made the night go flawlessly! Such a nice, genuine man that truly cares about his job and wants to give the bride and groom the best experience. He had excellent suggestions that he bases on his extensive knowledge and experience, and he even went to the venue (which was far!) more than once to check the sound system and plan out his setup. We had such an excellent variety of music and was so much more than just a DJ. Who needs a wedding planner when you can have DJ Phil to make sure your day goes flawlessly?! We did not use a planner and we definitely did not need to. I cannot rave enough about Manna Music! My best friend and all of her cousins have also used Manna Music and have had nothing but excellent things to say. Also, they are very reasonably priced! Phil deejay’d our New Year’s Eve wedding on 12/31/18! He was thorough, friendly and a pleasure to work with during all stages of the planning process! He provided music during our ceremony (coordinating with the soloist & cinematographer), cocktails, dinner and reception! I (the bride) made some last minute requests for songs to be added a few days before the wedding and he started incorporating them right away! He is very detailed oriented, takes pride in his work and goes above and beyond to ensure the bride and groom are happy! Fantastic Job!

Manna music did a fantastic job with our wedding ceremony and reception music! Starting off, their website made it easy to search for and choose the music necessary for each event, as well as special requests to play throughout the reception. Great dj and communicator

Phil was great to work with. We talked with him early on in the process and had another meeting with him closer to the day. We talked through our must play/do not play lists as well as the timeline for the day. He had a ton of experience at our venue which proved to be super helpful since he knew more than we did and had seen things done a lot of different ways. He also had to do the music for our ceremony and had all the sound figured out for that as well as the reception. He was a great emcee of our event and had everyone dancing all night. Great value for the price as well! Definitely recommend, especially if you're getting married at the Grand Ballroom in Joliet as he really has the sound down in a venue that can be very loud and difficult.

Phil is the absolute best! I seriously could not have asked for anyone better to DJ our wedding. We are so happy he was available on our wedding date! 25 years ago my husband and I had the pleasure of having Phil, from Manna Music, dj and emcee our wedding reception. A magical evening was had by all due in part to Phil's amazing talent to keep the party going. EXTREMELY FANTASTIC! Very detailed and thorough from the beginning to the end of the whole wedding planning process. You can tell that he really loves what he does, it's not just a gig/job for him, it is a true passion of his. He has a gift of reading your guests' reactions to the music playing and makes it more of an art than a playlist. Never a dull moment on the dance floor. I would definitely recommend him at ANY event you may have. He really is not just a DJ, but a true ARTIST! Can't say I'd change one thing about my experience with him! 5 stars all the way. My guests couldn't believe how awesome the music was, I even attended a wedding 2 weeks after mine, and was extremely overjoyed with just how lucky I truly was to have Phil as my DJ and not someone else. You'd be sorry not to have his as your DJ!

Phil was one of the reasons our reception was over-the-top so incredibly fun! We had a wide range of ages from 16 to 80+ and everyone loved the music. From the cocktail hour to the lively dancing, Phil attributed tremendously to the mood of each portion of the evening. His experience and knowledge of music was truly evident! All our guests raved about the music. (And he's very particular and spends quality time planning with you prior to the event to ensure he creates the atmosphere you are seeking.). His timing, expertise, and attention to detail make him the best dj! He even took pictures when he had a moment at the reception to share with us knowing we didn't hire a photographer. He's a class act and looks like it when he's dj-ing, dressed in a tux. He's extremely professional and courteous with guests, trying to play their requests when possible. Thanks, Phil, for making our reception the best!

Phil with Manna Music is an incredible DJ! He is friendly, professional, experienced, and has the newlywed's best interests at heart. He took so much stress off my shoulders as a bride and made everything run smoothly from the moment the guests arrived at the reception to the very last song. Phil is the real deal. He is a pleasure to work with, knows how to get people in the dance floor and even more importantly, stay in the dance floor, regardless of age. Phil is just awesome!! Music is a really big part of our lives, so my husband and I wanted someone who would understand our taste in music and would work with us to play some non-standard tunes. Putting together our playlist of songs for the reception was super easy and Phil made sure we had all of the right versions of the songs we wanted played during our ceremony. He did a great job keeping everything moving through the reception and then kept everyone on the dance floor for the rest of the night - we didn't want the night to end! Phil is a really great guy, really great DJ, and I will be recommending him to all of my engaged friends in the future!

Phil did an amazing job! We were left without a DJ two weeks before our wedding. Phil was able to meet with us to help start planning our event right away. He was very professional and made sure he had every detail worked out before the event. He communicated with the event coordinator to keep things running smoothly throughout the day, and he kept people dancing all night long. We received many compliments about him at the end of the night. We would definitely recommend his service!

Phil is very professional. He is very communicative and involved with our planning by calling us and being particular with details he needed to make the program for the reception a success. He also threw in a bonus by setting up the ceremony audio system. My husband and I loved working with him. Very approachable. He truly helped make our wedding party a blast. Manna Music just did my wedding and I am so happy with everything they did. Even weeks leading up to the wedding day, the DJ would be in contact with me making sure everything was perfect for our special day. My dad sang our first song and Phil, the DJ, was in constant contact with him making sure everything went smoothly. The genres of music he chose was perfect for all ages. He knew how to keep the party going and I don't think half the people ever left the dance floor that was because of him. I cannot recommend Manna Music more. They truly helped with making my special day perfect!!

We made the best decision when we hired Phil with Manna Music to be the DJ for our wedding. Phil had come highly recommended by a good friend of mine who also used him for her wedding and now I know why. Phil took care of the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Phil followed up with me a few times before the wedding to go over details making me feel at ease and like he was on top of everything. On the day of the wedding EVERYONE was dancing! He did a perfect job of playing some old school tunes as well as current music to get everyone out on the dance floor. I can't say enough about how great he was. Highly recommended!!!!

We could not have been happier with Phil's DJ services. He was a joy to work with from the planning until the wedding day. Phil was outstanding at listening to what we wanted and making suggestions on how to accomplish them. His sound and lighting equipment is top notch and he keeps the dance floor rocking. Everyone from our teenage guest to grandparents enjoyed his awesome mix of top 40 and classic hits. There is no question about it, Phil with Manna Music is the best bet for your wedding day!

Phil was excellent!! Everyone was on the dance floor from the minute it was open until we were forced to leave.. .I think people would've stayed another hour dancing if they could!! He was extremely helpful and accommodating with special dances to get the exact music we wanted. He answered all our questions in a timely manner and is very knowledgeable in the field of music! Mark made my wedding the best ever! He even got the people who "don't dance" up and dancing with the music. He is not one of those that doesn't stop talking in the microphone. He is extremely professional and very easy to work with. I wanted certain music for my bridesmaids that was hard to find and he had no problem delivering. my night was a fairy tale and he made that come true. We used DJ Phil for our wedding and he was fantastic!!! So easy to work with and he really was committed to making the music great for us! The guests all had a blast and we loved every song that was played! He read the audience well and we got a lot of compliments about Phil! I cannot say enough fantastic things about him - definitely a great decision hiring Phil as our DJ! I would recommend him 1,000 times over!
