Victor and band, simply magical
Victor and band were one of a kind! The energy the band brought was unmatched and surpassed our expectations for our magical night. We have guests reach out to us regularly saying how the music was so amazing and helped create a beautiful wedding reception and cocktail hour.
Victor was proactive in his communication and touched based with us on a regular basis. This was particularly useful as we hired him over 18 months out from the day. We gave him a list of songs and music genres and told him to build a playlist based on our high level recommendations. He nailed this, along with his band.
Given his familiarity with our venue, he was able to recommend the perfect ambience for each moment of the night and build out a timeline that catered to our night and the different things we wanted to include (introductions, first dance, cake cutting, etc.).
You dont realize how necessary it is to hire competent musician(s) that can do their job with little direction. This was Victor's team in spades.
He also agreed to stay an extra hour for us as our guests were having a wonderful time!
I cannot say enough positive things about Victor and the band. It brings immense joy to us thinking about that special day and the amazing music that was played.
We cannot recommend Victor enough. He should be your go to for all event music. He does it all and will produce magic that is beyond your expectations!

Great music
We had Victor Lesser and Manhattan City Music on 11/30 this year.
They did a customized playlist with all of our requests and everyone absolutely loved the music and their style! They were very easy to work with, arrived early, had a great attitude and were incredibly talented singers and musicians.
We're looking forward to having them do more events in the future.

We had a wonderful experience with Manhattan City Music! They were professional, willing to go above and beyond, and above all, really fun. They literally kept our party going and even had someone on sax and singing to our crowd.
They brought lights, mics, and all you need to throw a great party. They even helped us with questions to ask the venue re: other aspects of the event that they were not responsible for. Talk about feeling supported!

Victor and his team of incredibly talented musicians were so perfect at our wedding! Incredible, Entertaining, Loved by Every Guest
Victor Lesser from Manhattan City Music was nothing less than incredible! He was highly recommended by our venue (3 West Club). After our first meeting with him, we knew he was the right choice for our wedding and he did not disappoint! Our family can be timid and shy on the dance floor, but Victor managed to have every single guest out of their seat and on the dance floor the entire night. His music selection was fun and varied and always kept everyone entertained and never had a lull period. He also surprised everyone when he got on the dance floor and showcased his amazing saxophone skills and hyped up the party. Victor is a jack of all trades and also has an amazing voice. On top of being a fun and entertaining DJ, incredible and exciting sax player, he also has an amazing voice. He really set the tone of our wedding and started off with a beautiful Frank Sinatra song sung by him right on the dance floor. He was so amazing that people couldn't believe that he was singing live and was not a recording! At the end of the night, every guest came up to us just to tell us how amazing Victor was. He really helped make the wedding what it was and it was nothing less than perfect and so much fun.

MCM and Victor are THE sound of NYC.
Victor and his wonderful band single-handedly CREATED the essence of the "live-new-york-quintessential-sound" for our wedding. When you think of NYC there is no other feeling than the vibe this great band brings you. We put on a bit of a show for our guests, replete with a script, music cues, complicating timing, band interaction etc. Not only did Victor spend hours with us on the phone or going to a location scout with us to rehearse, he added his own ideas, flare and made the whole performance that much better. Our guest keep texting us telling us how much fun they had dancing to the eclictic mix of songs MCM had, and how it truly felt like a "New York Minute" dancing and listing to that indelible sax sound. We are already dreaming up new events we can throw just to have an excuse to welcome MCM back. Cannot recommend more. Truly grateful for Victor and MCM!

We danced the whole night
The best decision you make for your wedding will be hiring them. We were on the dance floor the entire night. People didn't even want to sit down for water, because every time they went to sit another song was played that they wanted to sing and dance along to. Every generation of guest loved the music too, from people in their 20s to 80s they were on the dance floor. HIRE THEM. Six months later and people are still telling me how great the band was!

Perfect for a diverse crowd!
Victor and Manhattan City Music are the best DJ and band I have ever worked with! They were able to get a very diverse and reluctant crowd ON THE DANCE FLOOR moving and grooving all night long! Everyone had a total blast and was raving about their work, even the people you wouldn't expect. You absolutely can't go wrong hiring them to make your wedding joyful and lively and fun.
Also, our event was in the middle of a huge rainstorm. Vendors were canceling and late left and right, but they were on time and perfect professionals. We didn't have to worry about a thing. Could not recommend them more highly!

VL and MCM are the best in the business. They were professional to work with throughout the process, accommodated all of our unique music requests, and through an amazing party for our wedding. Many of our guests are still remarking that MCM was the best wedding band they have ever seen! The highlight had to be VL and the band doing the belt limbo while playing their instruments. Do not look any further. THIS band does a fantastic job!! I have hired them for 3 large social events, not only my daughter's wedding. VIctor and his talented musicians know how to read your audience, balancing a mix of various types of music to get everyone up and moving. Another VERY important aspect is Victor adjusts the sound levels to fit the room. There is no one set level for every venue. This is key if you want people to be able to talk, dance and mingle throughout the entire evening.

Added so much to our wedding!
Oh my gosh we loved them! Our guests had a blast at our wedding with Victor and his band and having an amazing band enhanced the evening so much. Victor was incredibly pleasant and organized to work with leading up to the event. He went above and beyond to learn about what traditions were important to my family and did an amazing Tarantella at our wedding. I hope we get to see them perform again one day, thank you Victor and team!

If you want your guests to rave about the best band they've ever heard at a wedding, you should book MCM. They were INCREDIBLE!! They can play anything and will! They did the ceremony and reception music at our wedding and they were out of this world. Victor is easy and fun to work with and highly accommodating. I had a few abnormal requests, such as Earth Wind and Fire/September as a wedding processional, and a modern twist on Say A Little Prayer For You as a first dance, and they nailed it. Absolutely sensational.

Phenomenal Band
Victor and Manhattan City music did a phenomenal job at our wedding! Not only is his band exceptionally talented, he is also a stand-up guy who went above and beyond to help my wife and I out when we were in a pinch (think Covid-related scheduling issues). We had a jazz trio for the cocktail hour, and then his band performed afterwards at our reception for 5 hours. To this day, we continue to hear comments from our friends and family telling us how amazing the band was, and that they want to keep them in mind for future events for their loved ones. I highly recommend Victor and Manhattan City music for whatever event you are planning - this band is A+ material.

The Greatest Showman
Victor was superb from the beginning to the end. He was very flexible in meeting our needs. He is also extremely organized. I really liked his webpage where we can enter in all the information about our venue and choice of songs. I was surprised when he told us he can emcee , dj and play the saxophone, and he ended up doing all of this really well.
We played a lot of the soundtrack from the movie "The Greatest Showman" hence the title above !
It was a magical night and Victor played a large part in it. Will keep Victor in mind in the future for company and family events :)

Made of wedding so much fun!
All of guest told us that our wedding was the best they have ever been to and it was because of the entertainment. We hired Victor Lessor to DJ, sing, and lay live sax. The crowd loved him! I have never seen my dad dance in 64 years and he tore up the dance floor that night. People were having so much fun we extended the wedding reception! Best night ever! Highly recommended!

We don’t even know how to start thanking Manhattan City Music for everything they did for my wife and I on our wedding day! Our entire wedding guest list loved their music! We were very impressed with their wide range of songs. We wanted a more ‘classic’ feel to our wedding and we were able to enjoy music from Billy Joel, to Frank Sinatra, to Van Halen, to the Beatles, to solo saxophone and keyboard instrumental duets (my wife walked down the aisle to Can’t Help Falling In Love With You by Elvis instrumental).
Every musician in the band was just as talented as the next. They performed during our Ceremony and Reception. They were even able to offer excellent photobooth options! Really like a one-stop-shop for entertainment. We highly recommend them for any/all events and we will definitely keep them in-mind if/when we have another event. Victor and his band were excellent! They sounded great and brought the perfect energy to our wedding. Victor was so lovely to work with and really made sure everything went according to the plan we had talked about, including a specific arrangement of a song for my parents to dance to. He even saved the day and took over managing the flow of the night when our wedding planner unexpectedly left early. He was a pleasure to work with from start to finish and we would highly recommend him and his band to anyone!

Victor Lesser was the perfect fit for our beautiful wedding! His down to earth and charismatic personality radiated throughout the night making our reception lit with tons of energy, fun, endless dancing and happy memories! He serenaded my mom so beautifully😭 it warmed our hearts and made us cry. Hiring Victor for our wedding was a no brainer once we called him and realized how easy he made it for us to book his services. He provided an extremely useful music tool to choose appropriate songs for each event of the night and a cool state of the art photo booth which was a huge hit at the reception. Everyone left in awe after experiencing Victor’s incredible talent on the dance floor! The perfect band for the perfect price!
We had the pleasure of hiring Victor and the rest of the band for our wedding on August 25th. They were professionals throughout - I was very anxious about song choice and how everything works (I'm an over planner) and Victor never minded talking with me or explaining how everything works.
Now on to the actual music! They absolutely rocked it!! I was told it was the best Hora my friends had ever been too, they customized some songs for my bride as a surprise, and worked the crowd perfectly. As you'll see in all these reviews - people kept asking who the band was, and made sure to let me know how good they were in the subsequent weeks.
If you want a perfect band, for a reasonable price, that will alleviate your concerns about your big day - they are definitely the right band. Thanks again for everything!!

Even with the time constraints, Victor took the time to get to know us, and the entire reception went flawlessly. A HUGE thank you the Manhattan City Music! Our wedding reception was the BEST party EVER! There was not a single moment when the dance floor wasn't packed. In fact, our only wish was that the party could have gone on longer. Victor is a great communicator and made us feel confident and comfortable from day 1. He understood our vibe and vision for the wedding and the band translated it perfectly. They read the crowd throughout the night and knew how to keep the party going all night long. Afterwards, guests of the wedding continued to comment on how amazing the band was and they all had such fun dancing all night long. THEY ARE FABULOUS!! My only daughter’s wedding so I wanted a band that kept people on the dance floor all night long, and MCM deliver! My husband and I are both music lovers as well as musicians so choosing the right band was important to us. Manhattan City Music is top-notch!!! Don’t waste your time looking elsewhere! My friends and family are still talking about how amazing the band was at our wedding! The band leader, Victor, was very professional and extremely responsive to our needs and requests. AMAZING! Victor and the band did a phenomenal job. My husband and I wanted our wedding to be one for the books. Our wedding was so much fun! The range of musical variety MCM covers is great. They started the day with an instrumental duo for our ceremony. Followed by the Great American song book for our Cocktail Hour. Our reception included an 8 piece band which was a huge hit with our guests! Our guests kept telling us how amazing the band was and how much fun and different our wedding was. Everyone was on the dance floor the entire night. People are still telling us they have never had that much fun at a wedding before. We had a wide range of ages and they did a great job combining different genres and time periods of music. The band brings an amazing energy to your event. They get into the dance floor and dance with guests, play instruments in the middle of the dance floor, and have guests sing with them. Each member of the band brings a different vocal range which makes every song seem like a new act. With MCM you don't just get a band or DJ you get a whole experience and endless entertainment for your guests. They are also so easy to work with. Wedding planning is hard but MCM are professionals and know what they are doing. Your search is over !
They are also amazing for events as my father has worked with MCM for several events and always speaks highly of them. As soon as we started wedding planning my father knew exactly who would be handling the music and we are so glad we took his advice!

We got married in May and hired Manhattan City Music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Victor and the band were great and our guests told us they were one of the best wedding bands they have experienced. They also provided our pinspotting and did coordinated customizeable uplighting. It was a very great deal and Victor was very pleasant to work with from start to finish. Oh and the photobooth option was a nice touch and we got to see electronic copies of them all. I would definitely recommend Manhattan City Music.

The entertainment was one of our top priorities and Manhattan City Music absolutely delivered. From the ceremony music to cocktail hour through the reception Victor and his team didn’t miss a beat. They played with amazing energy throughout the night and kept our guests dancing all night long. They played a great mix of new hits and classics that all of our guests enjoyed. Their energy, sound and ability to control and play to the room were perfect. The various sounds and distinct voices (Victor does a great Sinatra!) were truly unique and sounded amazing throughout the night. In fact, many of our guests stated that it was the “best wedding band they had ever seen”, and we agree! We would highly recommend Manhattan City Music to anyone. Also the price is very fair and I believe MCM provided much greater value than most of their competitors. Thanks again Victor for an amazing experience.

Absolutely fabulous group of musicians. We had 15 pieces. It was an Orchestra. Friends/Family/Relatives continue to compliment us on the Band. Victor Lesser has done about a half dozen events for me over the past 20 years. He never disappoints. A class act !!

Manhattan City Music was absolutlely fantastic. It made my wedding so special and personal. The team at MCM helped us with all our planning for the evening. Everyone showed up early as promised and made for a stressfree fabulous party. The vocalists in the band were all amazing. We had an eclectic request list that included alot of recent dance tunes for our friends and some older classics for our parents friends. And they sounded great on all of it. I would recommend them to everyone.

Victor and his team were above and beyond amazing. I had the impossible dream to have one company for a string trio for ceremony, dj with live music for the reception, a photo boooth,photography, and videography. Manhattan City Music provided pre-ceremony musicians, music for the ceremony and the DJ for the reception.
They were affordable, professional, prompt and provided more than we paid for.
Victor, the DJ, is also an accomplished saxophone player and he played live during the reception.
This is not something we contracted, or paid extra for. He just did it. And we still hear from guest, months later, how impressive it was.
We would highly recommend Manhattan City Music and use them again ourselves if the right situation presented itself.

We used Manhattan City Music for our wedding--during the cocktail hour and reception. I can't say enough great things about them! Their price was very reasonable, they were professional and responsive throughout the whole process, and they sounded amazing! Our guests are still talking about how great the band was! They took our suggestions for what music to play and we ended up loving every single song. They sound incredible and they really made our wedding a night to remember!

In a word: amazing!
Victor gave us so much more than we could ever have anticipated.
Not only did he painstakingly review every detail of the reception to ensure a perfect flow, but he also made sure he understood our impossibly eclectic music tastes and DJ'd accordingly.
In the middle of the reception, we suddenly heard phenomenal saxophone playing along with one of the songs. It was Victor serenading our guests. Later, during another song, we heard someone singing live....Yup. Victor again. Everyone was stunned at his incredible musical talent.
We paid for him to DJ (and provide an excellent wedding photographer). But what we got was a party planner and entertainer extraordinaire.
We truly appreciate all Victor did to contribute to our magical wedding day. Our guests could not stop talking and raving about him the day after and were awe-struck by his performance.
We highly and heartily recommend him without reservation. Run do not walk. Best DJ in Manhattan!

This group was great! My husband and I truly enjoyed every moment of our wedding at the Thayer Hotel this past September 2014 and Manhattan City Music was a big part of that success!
There were two things on my "Must Haves" list when beginning plans for our wedding: 1. Open Bar and 2. Live Music. The Thayer Hotel (which was outstanding with stunning views of the Hudson River!) recommended Manhattan City Music and I'm THRILLED that they did! Victor Lesser, the band director, was responsive and timely--which is always so helpful when planning large events--he met with us in person and multiple times over the phone, he was very professional, and his band talent was exceptional! We had the time of our lives, and our guests and families did, too!
I felt that, even though they seem to be a very busy and scheduled group, we had a very personal experience with Victor. He went over every detail of the reception with us in the days before the wedding, offering advice and asking lots of great questions, and I knew we were in good hands!
The value of Victor and his band's experience was made very clear in how seamless the whole evening seemed to go!
I could have danced ALL night!

Victor Lesser and Manhattan City Music were beyond what we could have hoped for the day of our wedding. We enlisted their services to play as a band (guitar and keyboard/piano) for our ceremony and during the reception rotating with our DJ. From the start Manhattan City Music was professional, accommodating and an overall pleasure to work with. They took the vibe and song list that we wanted and ran with it, making it their own. Our guests still can't stop talking about the music from our wedding day. It was perfect I couldn't have asked for better music. I would 100% recommend Manhattan City Music to anyone looking for music for an event.

Victor Lesser lived up to everything he said he would and more! Manhattan City Music made my party great. I was concerned that I'd have a quiet/short wedding considering we only had 57 guests (about 10 of whom are under the age of 13 and another 10 are over the age of 55) but somehow Manhattan City Music kept everyone up and dancing all night! They made my party lively and fun!! They were simply fabulous and I cannot recommend them enough.

Manhattan City Music is amazing! I used them for my wedding in April and people are still talking about the amazing performance they put on for us because that it was it truly was! No one sat the ENTIRE night! We rock and we rolled, we had SO MUCH FUN!!! I wish I could do it all over again JUST BECAUSE of MCM! I have never seen any band command the stage and pick the right songs for the right moment like Manhattan City Music. My guests were so impressed with the band that everyone stayed till the very end because they did not want the night to end. They kept shouting, "One more song!!" These guys know what they are doing.

Victor and his Band made my daughter's wedding complete. All our guests kept asking where we found them and how great they were. They responded to all our questions and even learned several Korean songs forums, Gangnam Style made the room go crazy, oh what a night. They were beyond fabulous!!!

Working with Victor Lesser/ Manhattan City Music was an absolutely amazing experience. The entertainment is one of the most important decisions of the wedding and we were not disappointed! Victor is so professional, kind, and talented and makes sure to deliver YOUR style of music! We met several times before the wedding to discuss songs and in the end, I just ended up giving him a few songs and allowed him to choose the rest. Putting my faith in him, he delivered and exceeded my expectations. My husband and I had our reception at the Harvard Club and the entertainment was so classy and fit the atmosphere perfectly. Victor played the piano during cocktail hour and even played saxophone for some of the reception. Manhattan City Music is amazing and I would HIGHLY recommend them!

Victor provided both DJ services and live music for the ceremony and reception. He did an incredible job. The entire process was very easy and Victor took care to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. The ceremony music was wonderful and he played live flute that was beautiful. During the cocktail hour he played some nice Jazz music. For our reception he play a great mix of music that hit all of our favorite genres. He also did some well timed live signing and saxophone that just made it an unforgettable party! He has a knack for getting everyone on the dance floor. Even the parents were dancing all night and all of our guests said he was amazing. I highly recommend Victor and his company for your wedding!

Victor provided photo booth services for our mom's 90th birthday celebration this past August.
He was engaging and fun with the guests. Most all of the 150+ guests came to get a picture or two. They enjoyed the photos, the props and mostly Victor... with his lively and funny demeanor.
Very pleased with Victor's appearance and professionalism. Can't wait to hire him for another party.
