Wow! What an amazing job!

I believe the lady that did my make up was Dorys. She did an amazing job!! I couldn’t have been happier with my look! She followed exactly what I wanted and did an incredible job recreating what I imagined! Would recommend her to everyone!

Maleana did a fabulous job with the hair and makeup for the bride and bridal party. The airbrush make-up was natural yet glamorous and lasted all day/evening. Our timeline shifted earlier and we were initially concerned that all the ladies would not get done in time for the first look and photos. Dorys ended up sending in a third make-up artist so that we could meet our timeline. When she did not feel well that morning, Dorys found an experienced substitute who she instructed to take exclusive care of the bride. We were very satisfied with the quality of services. All make-up artists were courteous, timely, professional, and prepared. They brought all of their hair and make-up equipment and supplies to the hotel room. Mahalo Maleana! We would highly recommend them for weddings and other special occasions!

THANK YOU DORYS for making me look and feel like bridal barbie for my wedding!

she was on time, pleasant and professional. i told her what i liked, and she ran with it... made me look like a star!

i'm a long distance bride so it was hard to really hash things out beforehand, but she made it work!

i did a trial run with her a few months before my wedding at her studio in kaimuki.... it was awesome! i asked her to do a tattoo coverup, which went really well, but after awhile i decided not to go with that.

anyways she made me look like a total natural diva - and the photos came out fabulous! she helped me with me clip-on extensions on the wedding day, and her super chill vibe kept me from tripping too hard. my hair and makeup miraculously held up through my proliferous sweating due to the pre-hurricane humidity.... and everything even held up through the rain later in the day! unbelieveably, my makeup STILL looked awesome the next day, even the fake eyelashes!!

Dorys is a sweet, beautiful soul, with a natural gift to bring out the best in you. everyone said how naturally beautiful i looked, glowing!

We were very pleased with how our hair and makeup turned out for everyone! My hair and makeup were perfect - I couldn't have been happier with it!! All the girls liked their hair and makeup, too, although of course, I wish Dorys could have done everyone's because she is the best!! But the other two ladies who helped us that morning were spectacular and very warm and friendly, too. We were very happy!

I loved how Dorys listened and made sure all my needs were met. Dorys' easy going personality will make you feel at ease so it's easier for you to address what you want (in my case, I'm very particular about my eye makeup). I was also surprised to find how quick Dorys and her assistant, Mary worked but it didn't compromise on the results. In 4 short hours, Dorys and Mary completed 8 girls' makeup and hair and everyone looked gorgeous! I have to be honest, I was expecting to go over the time at first! Most of all, Dorys made me look and feel like a princess on my wedding day. She is one of the best makeup artists I have met - and I've worked in the cosmetics industry for 5 years now!

I am so glad I went with Maleana Cosmetics for hair and makeup for myself and my bridal party. I had originally booked another company and had a trial with them. And while there was nothing wrong with the trial I just felt like something was off. So I cancelled them and luckily Dorys was still available. I had an opportunity to have a trial with Dorys while I was in town planning (destination bride) and felt so happy I made the switch. She and two more stylists came to our hotel to do hair and makeup for me and 9 people in my bridal party. They were all fantastic. They were easy to work with, they listened to what my girls wanted and were able to create the look they were going for and they made all of us look naturally beautiful, did not feel like we had makeup caked on. I had my hair in a low bun like design with a flower on the side and it stayed put all night long, as did my makeup! Dorys is a true professional who listens to what you want and can make you look like the best version of you.

I was very lucky to have had the pleasure having owner Dorys to be my make up artist. She was absolutely wonderful. We did everything via email and I absolutely had no problems with anything. She was very prompt and very professional. I was very happy with the way my makeup looked and she also gave me some makeup tips here and there. I had never had airbrush makeup done before and I thought it was amazing. It rained on my wedding day and we took our pictures out on Waikiki Beach with drizzles during our cocktail hour and my makeup stayed on for the entire reception. I woud definitely recommend and if have the chance, do business with Dorys once again.

Dorys and her team from Maleana did an amazing job providing hair and make-up for my bridesmaids, mother of the groom, and myself. I felt like the most beautiful bride that day. We made a few adjustments after my trial and Dorys got it exactly the way I wanted on the day of the wedding. I didn't want to look too made up but wanted enought for photos. Dorys did exactly that. All the bridesmaids also looked so amazing. Dorys and her team was professional and on time. I highly recommend Dorys and her team to all brides who want to look beautiful on their wedding day.

My experience with Maleana was absolutely amazing! My stylist was so attentive to every detail, and she wasn’t satisfied until I was 100% satisfied. The make-up and hair for all of my bridesmaids as well as my mom were cohesive but still individualized. It turned out better than I could have imagined!! Much Mahalo to Dorys and her Maleana team!!

I'm extremely glad that I had Maleana Cosmetics do hair and makeup for my wedding! Dorys is awesome, and I enjoyed meeting with her for a trial run a few months before the wedding so I had no worries about the styling, even when I decided at the last minute to wear a veil after all. She had 2 other stylists come out to the hotel with her to do hair and makeup for all 15 of us, and kept us all on time during the getting ready process. The airbrushed makeup stood up to the Hawaiian humidity (and some rain!) and my smokey eyes looked fantastic into the wee hours of the morning. If anyone's on the fence about having a stylist for their wedding day, I say definitely do it, and use Maleana!

Dorys from Maleana Cosmetics was wonderful. I can honestly say she was able to create exactly the look I was hoping for (and I only had a magazine photograph that was close but not perfect!). She was efficient and entirely friendly. I was doubly impressed since after she found out we were actually doing our photo shoot in two sessions, 4 hours apart, she offered to come to our venue to do touch-ups. This was completely above and beyond what we had booked her for, and she really made our day special. (on a side note, I have been trying ever since to recreate her make-up application, and have failed miserably!) Many many thanks to the very talented Dorys.

Dorys was amazing!

I loved her style from the first time I saw her pics and was so pleased when she completely understood the vision I had for my look for the day and helped me achieve just that.

Maleana is Dorys own company and you can definitely tell that she puts so much effort into each and every one of clients to maintain the credibility of her company.

I would send email photos of me and my visions and she would come back near enough instantaneously with her thoughts and how we could make it happen.

I had my trial the day before and I must admit I was slightly nervous that the look I got on the day wouldn't be able to be recreated from the day before - This couldn't have been further from the truth! It was just the same, if not better. She made sure to take loads of photos so she could create an exact replica and she did.

She is doubles as a counselor and is really good at taming your nerves in the morning!!

Definitely recommend Dorys and her team to any future brides!

Every little girl dreams of what she will look like on her wedding day. dory's and her team made me and my bridal party look stunning.. I am still receiving compliments till now.. I have very sensitive skin and find I break out in rashes if I don't use all natural products. Maleana cosmetics range felt like air on my skin. It was amazing ( I even bought new make-up from her range) dory's work speaks for itself! Her web page and Facebook page does not do her work justice! It is beyond amazing. Her pricing is very reasonable and worth every cent! Book now!

Dorys was awesome and I HIGHLY recommend her! My makeup came out just the way I wanted it and my hair (and bridesmaids) stayed in place all day and night. She listens very closely and gives you exactly what you want. On the day of the wedding, she arrived on time and stayed on schedule according to the timeline. She even had time to put eyelashes on my bridesmaids and put flowers in my flower girls hair, without us even planning for it. I got the flowers for my hair and the flower girls hair through her and I highly recommend that you do, since she knows what type is best. She also provided a touch-up kit, which came in very handy.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dorys and Liz. Before the wedding, I went in for a trial and loved it. All my questions were answered via email promptly...even during their busiest time of the year. On the day of, Dorys and Liz arrived earlier than scheduled due to a parade going on along waikiki (kalakaua). I was so PLEASED with the adjustments made to my hair style...which I decided on a different style for my bangs. Dorys worked her magic on me...not overly done. I loved my make up too! My bridesmaids were also please with the hair and makeup done on the too! They made it a relaxing morning for us getting ready. Dorys also took some images of me and made a slideshow. She was wonderful!!!! =)

I hired Maleana to style my bridal party. Everyone looked beautiful! Since our wedding day was really long, we got the airbrush makeup and it was totally worth it. The airbrush makeup feels so light and looks really natural. Maleana was also accommodating when we asked them to make chages to hair/makeup styles that we were not happy with. For example, I went in for a trial session and wasn't completely comfortable with how my hair turned out. I talked with Dorys the day before the wedding, we went over her notes, I explained what I wanted, she made a couple of adjustments and everything turned out perfectly the day of the wedding. Thank you, Maleana!!

I was originally referred to Leslie Fair, but she was not available on my wedding date, and suggested that I tried Dorys, and I have to thank Leslie for introducing me to Dorys and her senior stylist Zairah! I planned my destination wedding from Los Angeles, and unlike many of the Hawaii vendors, Dorys responded right away, she was professional from the very beginning. I would recommend signing up for a trial run prior to the wedding, and bring photos of how you would like your make up/hair done. This picky bride has never been happy with any up-dos in the past, but Dorys passed the test. My makeup looked amazing, natural but not caked on, perfect for the humid Hawaiian weather. There was light rain right at the beginning of our ceremony, and I also got emotional during the ceremony, and thought for sure I had mascara running down my face and the hair was not going to hold up. Amazingly, everything held up, and I looked great till the end of the night. Thank you Dorys and Zairah for our amazing looking bridal party!!!

Dorys w/ Maleana cosmetics was wonderful to work with! She is a very talented professional and was flexible to work with me to find my perfect look, from a hairstyle change to a skintone change; I had gotten quite tan since our trial run, but she took it in stride and adjusted the makeup colors beautifully! She did my hair and makeup, three of my bridesmaids, and both moms, with the help of an assistant. Everyone was ecstatic with their look. I chose to do airbrushing and lashes, and everything stayed put the entire time, through my crying during pretty much the entire ceremony, to crying during toasts, to crying through the first dance, and then sweating like no other on the dance floor :) My hair stayed in place too, which is quite a feat considering the wind that day! I couldn't be happier with her services!

Dorys and Maleana Cosmetics are the best! Most of my bridesmaids don't like to wear too much make-up and they felt comfortable the whole day. They even gave us straws so we didn't mess up our lipgloss.

I could not ask for more!!!! Dorys was great!!!! She made me look and feel like a movie star. She was very professional but at the same time warm and friendly. Dorys met with me a few months before the wedding to come up with my "makeup plan". On the day of the wedding, she and one other staff member came to do the hair/makeup for me, three bridesmaids and the mom's. We were finished ahead of schedule, which was excellent!

She gets booked very fast because her air brush make up is the best! I did my make up at noon and it lasted until midnite!! She is awesome!! Even her assistant are awesome. She also gives her bride a "touch up kit". Very handy

i communicated and worked with principal dorys. i opted for the trial (additional charge) and dorys took pictures in natural light so i could review and see how i would look on camera. on the day of the wedding she arrived with another stylist on time and was very flexible. i felt pampered and special and everyone that got their hair and makeup done felt they looked their very best.

My friend had used this company for her wedding and i loved the results so I decided to use Malena for my wedding. My makeup looked natural and beautiful and felt like I had nothing on. My hair stayed in place the entire time.

I was planning a destination wedding in Hawaii (in 2007) and came across Dorys name in one of my web searches. For the quality of work that she does, her prices are very reasonable. She did my wedding day makeup, as well as that of my 4 bridesmaids. She was great at corresponding with me, primarily through e-mail, until we had a pre-wedding consultation when I arrived on the island. Dorys is the consummate professional and knows how to bring out the bride's best features. I was very pleased with the results and the makeup lasted through an afternoon wedding, a reception, through shedding of many happy tears. The next time I return to Oahu, I want to go back to Dorys for a makeup lesson!

Maleana Cosmetics was the perfect choice for all my beauty needs!
With choosing my beauty vendor from overseas - great communication was essential and Dorys was fantastic with responding to all of my enquiries and phone calls.

I sent pictures ahead of time to the Ladies and they were able to review my dress and get a picture of the look I was going for. My trial session was a lot of fun with Liz and we immediately connected and I was comfortable with my look and she was open to change anything on my wedding day. Dorys was very helpful and was able to order orchids for both my hair and maid of honor's hair at the last minute.

Liz arrived on time to our North shore venue for preparation and was ready to go with excitement and enthusiasm! It was so great to have her be a part of our preparation and with my happiness and anticipation building for our ceremony, she sweetly calmed me down as she applied her magic. The cosmetic products looked lovely and were able to withstand the heat in our outdoor ceremony and reception. I highly recommend getting an air brush to assist with the humidity.

Dorys and her assistant did an excellent job on our hair and makeup for my wedding day.

She showed up on time and though I was very distracted with guests arriving, she was able to finish all of our hair and makeup on schedule.

They did an amazing job with the makeup. Of course it started to rain during my ceremony (!). I was so worried my makeup would melt. Through the rain, the heat in Hawaii, and my tears on my wedding day, my makeup stayed put. I also loved the individual false lashes she applied. Each of the pieces stayed put all night long.

My bridesmaid also looked amazing on our wedding day.

I was very pleased with Dorys' work. When I went in for the trial session, my eye makeup was much darker than I wanted. I told Dorys I wanted it much lighter for the wedding and she said no problem. The day of my wedding she showed up on time and had my hair and makeup and my mother's makeup done on schedule. My makeup looked incredible - as I requested, she lightened up the eye makeup, but it was still dark enough so you could see it in my wedding photos. She did the airbrush foundation and my skin looked incredible. My makeup lasted all day. This is the first time I've ever liked the way I looked when somebody else did my makeup.

I was even more impressed with my hair. I have straight hair that generally loses any curl or body an hour after styling it. Dorys curled and sprayed my hair and the style lasted all night.

Her staff was also very professional. Most of my contact with them was over email, and they always responded to my messages quickly and professionally.

Dorys was very professional and did a great job! I brought my mother with me and we both were very happy with our results. She was also very helpful over the phone, as I had to plan everything from the mainland. My only concern was that the price did seem high, though I added false lashes and extensions, but she was kind enough not to charge for a blow out. I would definitely see her again for a formal event!

Although this ended up being more expensive than I anticipated, it was worth every penny. Dorys is amazing, and everyone had compliments at the wedding, including my husband's back-handed compliment (men!) when he told me that he wasn't expecting me to be so beautiful! When budgeting, be sure to consider that if Dorys is doing your make-up on location, there is a location fee as well as a travel fee, and if she is bringing an assistant, you are expected to tip 15% of the total bill for the assistant.

I have had Dorys do two of my family weddings. She is very good at what she does and does her job in a very timely manner. The price is a little expensive but worth the money for the piece of mind that hair and makeup is taken care of. I would recommend Dorys to my friends!

I have never professionally paid to get my hair & makeup done before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm pretty cheap when it comes to spending money on myself so at first I felt the money I paid for myself & 3 others was high. I did not get many quotes though so I'm not sure what to compare it to. But when the day came & my hair & makeup was done, I felt absolutely gorgeous & for that it's priceless. Doris was my stylist & she did an amazing job! I would definitely use her again if I need her services in Honolulu & wouldn't think twice about it!

Dorys and her assistant did 2 Moms, 3 BM and myself, the bride, in one afternoon. We were all on time and looked amazing! The makeup looked so beautiful and my hair was awesome. I kept thinking how much I wanted my hair to look like that all the time! To add difficulty, 5 weeks before my wedding I fell and had to get stiches on my lower lip! It was still a bit puffy but you would never know in the photos-you can't even tell and it's all because she did such a great job! I was really happy with everything-even the trial went well. I would definitely recommend her!

The makeup was wonderful, but I wasn't really digging the hair. They literally stuck the flowers into my bridal parties hair and bobby pinned it to stay. My maid of honor had to get her hair redone because the stylist for some reason couldn't get the photo right.

Dorys was a great hair and make up artist. My only complaint is that she could have been a little more flexible with me during my trial session--if not for the fact that it's our time to get the hair and make up done right for the big day but for the simple fact that I paid for the trial session. It was not included with the package. But I received many compliments on my wedding day. The bridesmaids who decided to have their hair done by Dorys and her team also looked great. Ultimately if you go in knowing what you want her to do, you'll be fine. Bottom line: bring lots of pictures and make sure to voice your opinions and ask her to make the changes if necessary and you will be very happy.

The stylists were very talented but time was an issue. One of them was right on time, very quick and able to squeeze in someone extra for hair and makeup. On the other hand, the other stylist ran behind the proposed schedule and as the bride I didn't get the full amount of time, as we agreed. As a result, the curls on one side of my head looked different from the curls on the other side. This was a big disappointment. If you go with this vendor ask them to show up extra early and be aggressive about keeping them on the clock.

My bridesmaids looked gorgeous, completely flawless. But I felt that they rushed through my hair, it looked crunchy and the bobby pins were completely visible all over. I had a wonderful wedding day and the only thing I am not pleased with was my hair and makeup.

I would not recommend Maleana because they are over priced. They charge for every little thing. My friend (the bride) frantically called me two weeks prior to the wedding needing to find a stylist to do her hair and make-up including the rest of the bridal party. Maleana was one of the few companies still avaiable, I am sure, in part because they are quite pricey. The bride had no choice, but to go with them. In addition to being compensated for styling the bride and bridal party these are the additional charges they charge: $80 for an additional stylist to come on site, $50 to take a bottle of make-up and a brush in an elevator up two floors to apply make-up to the groom. I thought that was unbelievable to charge a separate location fee to go up and down an elevator and $25 each stylist to valet (they could have parked in the parking structure for a fraction of the price). I would not be bothered by the pricing if I felt the quality of work was worth it. The stylist seemed to be great with hair, but not as great with make-up.

Brides on the Knott loves her that why I booked Dory.
It was just okay. I went in with very high expectation but was so let down.
My friend who did my makeup at my friend wedding did a better job. Very expensive, not worth the money at all.

I seriously want to cry everytime I think about the experience that I had.

So I read all these great reviews of Dorys everywhere, did a trial... no problems.

Big day arrives... Dorys was supposed to do makeup & hair on me and one BM. Her assistant was supposed to do makeup and hair for two BMs. We talked about how I needed to be finished first by so and so time so the photographer could take my getting ready pictures- and she agreed. I emailed her again a few days beforehand to remind her.

Her assistant was slow, and ended up taking the entire time (almost 2 hours) working on one BM, so Dorys did my hair, then ended up switching to do the other two BMs hair. By then we were running really late, and I told her that the photographer had to go downstairs in 15 minutes. She said "Ok, so what does that mean?"

UGH!

To make a long story short, she had to rush to finish my makeup and hair. The photographer had left and I didnt get take any getting ready pictures.. which makes me really sad. She probably spent a total of 30-40 minutes on me, which was upsetting because I paid her $150 to do my makeup and hair and $100 per BM- and one BM got worked on for almost 2 hours!

She let me check my hair in the mirror before she sprayed my curls in and I noticed that a lot of hair wasn't curled so I had to tell her two times to re-curl those areas... By then, it was almost time so she quickly sprayed it even though I wasnt happy with it. I feel like if she would have spent the hour or so that she was supposed to on me, my hair would have held better during the rest of the day. Instead, it went flat in less than an hour!

Also, she glued on my eyelashes in 3 dots rather than gluing the entire lash... so one fell off after I cried. Luckily, one of my guests had glue to fix it.

My makeup was good, but my hair didnt hold for more than an hour... but the worst part is that I will not have any getting ready pictures. =( I can never do this day again so it just makes me really sad when I think about it.
