Absolutely fantastic!

Amanda and Cierra did a phenomenal job for my photoshoot. I'm a photographer and needed someone to show up to our set on-site at the Hotel Roanoke by Hilton. Amanda responded quickly, was super communicative throughout, and Cierra did a fantastic job keeping everyone happy and engaged before the shoot. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will use them again!

Perfect for my wedding

Amanda was excellent. We weren’t able to have the big ceremony and reception we wanted so we last minute decided to have an intimate ceremony and Amanda was flexible with us and made it work!! We are thankful for her and the work that she did🥰 it looked beautiful.

Great Experience!

Amanda did my daughters makeup for her wedding in September along with all of her bridesmaids, myself, and the mother of the groom. Everyone looked amazing even after dancing the night away! She is one of the best and so glad we had her for our special day.

Bridesmaid

I was a bridesmaid at my best friends wedding. Amanda did all of our make up. It was the first time I had ever had fake eye lashes on but to be completely honest I couldn’t tell they were even on. My skin was well taken care of with the quality of the makeup. The conversation between the two of us while doing my makeup was great. She matched my complexion perfectly. Overall 5 out of 5.

Great Hair/Makeup Services!

Amanda and Erica did great work on my wedding day! I originally needed makeup and hair done on 7 bridesmaids and hair done on my flower girl but I ended up adding hair and makeup for my mom last minute and they were very accommodating. Everything was finished in a timely manner and everyone looked absolutely stunning! I personally felt like an absolute princess. I highly recommend working with Amanda and Erica on your wedding day!

Great Holiday Makeup!

Amanda got back to me quickly, and was great about answering my questions. I went to her house (not far from me) for makeup before my company holiday party. She made sure she used colors and brands I was comfortable with. It turned out amazing! Lasted all night through walking a bit in the rain, to sweating my butt off dancing! She was super nice too!

Excellent makeup services!!

I am so happy I went with Makeup by Ravishing for my bridal makeup. Amanda and Cierra were professional and reliable. Cierra did both my makeup and my mother's on the day of the wedding, and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. Cierra used high quality makeup products and her application was perfect. Bridal & Bridesmaid Makeup

Amanda did such a great job for myself and 6 bridesmaids. She was punctual and flexible with my bridal makeup trial. She had me and all 6 of my bridesmaids looking flawless for the wedding, and the makeup lasted all day in 85 degrees and humidity with a mostly outdoor reception! She created beautiful looks for all of us and is very knowledgeable about her craft.

Highly Recommend! Amanda was absolutely fantastic, she worked with me, my 8 bridesmaids and mother to help us get ready for my wedding! She was incredibly easy to communicate with throughout the whole planning process. She was accommodating and flexible with the meeting location, and day of changes. She offered a run through of my wedding day make up, which also doubled for my engagement photos! She is professional, timely, talented! Everyone looked beautiful and I could not recommend anyone better! Amanda should be your go to for any wedding or event in the future!

Amanda is a phenomenal make up artist. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a professional for any occasion. Amanda from Makeup by Ravishing does absolutely flawless makeup! I was so pleased with her work and felt SO beautiful on my wedding day. She is easy to communicate with and promptly responds to emails/phone calls. Her price point is great for the gorgeous makeup that she provides and her assistant was also fabulous! She works with Erica, who does wedding hair, and I was so happy with how the updos for myself and my bridesmaids turned out. Amanda handled makeup for one of my coordination clients and she was WONDERFUL to work with. She communicated proactively when I sent her a timeline. She took my messages and phone calls in a timely manner. She found solutions to timing challenges when necessary and all of the girls arrived in time for on site bridal party photos looking gorgeous! Amanda did my makeup for a bridal session and she did an excellent job! The makeup looked very natural (I'm a fair skinned/redhead girl) - but still had that extra pomp to make it glamorous and way better than any of my attempts at home! Amanda did an amazing job! She did my prom makeup and I was completely satisfied. I have really fair skins which makes it hard for me to find foundation colors, but due to her abundance of materials and professional level of skill, Amanda was able to just look at my face, and without hesitation, get the perfect shade for my skin. Not only is she very talented in the makeup department, but she was also a very enjoyable person to talk to so I was never bored. I would HIGHLY recommend Amanda from Makeup by Ravishing to do your occasion makeup!

Amazing! My make up was stunning her hair partner was just as amazing as her. My wedding was out of state so I couldn't do a trial run. She nailed it in less than 30 minutes. My make up stayed put everyone looked perfect. So glad I didn't go through a salon it was so nice having her and her partner come to me... And her prices are more than fair. My mom was going through chemo at the time and she was more than considerate and understanding of her special needs due to her lack of hair and sensitive skin. Just hire her she the best.

Amanda did such an amazing job with the makeup for my wedding!! From the start, she responded quickly and set up a makeup trial for me, which I would definitely recommend. I don't normally wear a ton of makeup, so she was able to give me a more natural look, but still make me look amazing. For my wedding day, I had myself, 8 bridesmaids, and 2 mothers all getting their makeup done. Amanda and her assistant arrived at my bridal suite bright and early and finished everyone's makeup way faster than I expected! Her pricing included false eyelashes for everyone, which I think made such a difference--even for some of my friends who never wore them before. The color palate she chose for all of us matched our dresses perfectly and didn't look over the top. Everyone looked like a better version of themselves! The makeup didn't feel overdone or heavy, but most importantly it stayed on the entire day/night, through hours of picture taking and crying happy tears! I couldn't recommend Amanda highly enough!

Amanda was great to work with! I am not someone who knows a lot about makeup and so I needed someone who could just make me look my best and understand what I wanted without too much elaboration, because honestly I didn't even know how to explain what I wanted. I just knew I didn't want to look over done or too much makeup. Needless to say Amanda did a perfect job! I met with her once before hand to do a practice session and then she came to me on my wedding day. She did my makeup and my bridesmaid makeup, both were absolutely beautiful! Amanda did a great job with making us look beautiful for the wedding day!! We had several bridesmaids, MOBs, and myself all get our make up done. She was on time, prepared, and did exactly what we all wanted! Plus, she even suffered a major injury just a few days before but still made sure she was there and ready to go! I got married in August in Charlottesville, VA and Amanda was AWESOME! We had a fairly large wedding party: myself, 7 bridesmaids, 2 moms and 4 flower girls. Everyone looked beautiful!!! Our ceremony was at 2:30pm at the UVA Chapel and our reception was at King Family Vineyards. It was super hot and humid out and I cried about 50 times but my makeup still looked amazing by the end of the night! Amanda and her assistant were very professional and worked in a timely manner - they finished up everyone a little earlier than expected which was perfect! I was so happy with myself and everyone's makeup! TOTALLY recommend Makeup by Ravishing! :) Thank you Amanda SO much!!!

I was married earlier this month and Amanda did an excellent job on all of our makeup. She did the bridal makeup, 5 bridesmaids, the mother of the groom, and flower girl. Amanda is very professional and fun to work with and made all of us look beautiful! My wedding ceremony started at 5:00 and everything ended around 11. It was a hot and humid day, and I was definitely nervous about sweating and having my makeup run. However, when looking at even non-professional pictures, all of our makeup looked flawless all night. I honestly wouldn't know what time of the wedding it was because our makeup looked that flawless throughout the entire wedding ceremony, rehearsal dinner and dancing afterwards. I was so impressed with what an amazing job she did. Even when turning in for bed time, my face still looked like as perfect as it did originally! If you book Amanda you will definitely be satisfied with the quality of her work, her professionalism, and the value.

My best friend was getting married and we had another company coming in to do our makeup. At the last minute they couldn't support the amount of girls and backed out of the wedding makeup. Amanda and her team stepped in last minute and absolutely went above and beyond the call of duty. I was amazed at how beautiful all of our makeup looked, each a little different to our own looks but tied all in together and made us look beautiful and flawless. Amanda did a beautiful job on my daughter's makeup for prom. She perfected a formal look for my daughter that was still natural and glowing. Somehow Amanda was able to conceal blemishes and even a blister, without "caking" on the makeup. My daughter looked elegant and beautiful. Amanda is so easy to work with; she spent time ony daughter and is incredibly responsive, which made scheduling easy. I only wish I had called Amanda sooner to help with my daughter's makeup for formal events.

Planning a wedding out of state is always a challenge and I was very nervous about picking a makeup artist without getting a chance to do a trial or meet them in person first. After a lot of research on the internet I found Makeup by Ravishing. After seeing Amanda's portfolio I was very interested so I contacted her. She responded very quickly and answered all my questions. I went ahead and booked her and had a trial the next time I was in town. Amanda is truly awesome about listening to what her clients want. It took me 3 trials playing around with different color palettes to figure out what I wanted, but on the 3rd time we nailed it! I truly appreciated her patience with me knowing how important it was to get the exact look I was looking for on my wedding day. She is super personable and helped keep me relaxed on the big day. I couldn't have asked for more perfect makeup on me and my bridesmaids for the wedding day. We all looked so fabulous! Amanda McCoy owner of Ravishing not only did an excellent job with Me, My Mom, and My Maid of Honor's makeup but she made us all feel comfortable and beautiful for the day. She was affordable, timely, and efficient. She was willing to drive to my salon to do my make up for the day as a convenience for me. To my surprise at the end of session she provided me as the bride a unique set of earrings.

Amanda did a phenomenal job on me and all of my bridesmaids. She also did makeup for the mother of the bride and groom. Amanda was amazing. She came to me in a time of need when I was having issues with booking another salon for makeup. She was more than understanding to my predicament and willing to step in!

Being a woman who herself ADORES make up, I was leery of anyone who was going to do my make up for my wedding day. I wear heavy make up and my fear was that my make up artist would make me look like what they felt was "best". After my trial with Amanda, I was in LOVE with my make up. She listened to what I wanted and made me feel like I truly was at my best.

My wedding day was the same, truly I felt so beautiful! She was prompt, kept the bridal party moving and was efficient. Amanda has a true gift/art for make up and I would recommend her to ANY ONE who needs beauty services.

Amanda and her team did a great job! Not only did the makeup look great but they were so quick! I had a huge group of 10 girls and everyone got done in time and looked beautiful. I didn't even recognize myself after she was done, she turned me into a bride!

Amanda is absolutely fabulous. She is so easy to work with and very reasonable. She did my bridal makeup as well as one bridesmaid and MOH. She made me feel like a princess. She listens to what your vision for your makeup is and brings it to life! Amanda did my makeup as well as my Maid of Honor's makeup and was so fabulous to work with! She was very quick to respond and answered any and all questions I had. She was very helpful in determining what type of look would look most flattering on me and took the time to look through some pictures I sent her of ideas that I had in mind. I especially appreciate that she will come to you, as that saves a lot of time on your wedding day. She also had great recommendations for hairstylists in the area that would come to your venue when my original hairstylist had to cancel on me. I highly recommend Amanda as she is very talented, as well as very sweet to work with :)

Ravishing did a AMAZING job on everyone's makeup on our big day! I can't say enough good things about her! My hairdresser recommended Ravishing. I contacted Amanda (the make-up artist) via telephone. She immediately returned my call. We discussed that I would like wedding makeup along with the Bridesmaids, Mothers, and Grandmothers. While Ravishing is based in Roanoke, Virginia; my wedding was in Orange, Virginia. Amanda quoted a reasonable fee that included travel expense. In the days leading up to the wedding weekend, we communicated via email. She was always easy to reach. Wedding Day: The Bridesmaids and myself were at the bed and breakfast; the mothers and grandmothers were at a hotel. Amanda had no issue with going to two places. Additionally, she made sure to allow herself enough time on my makeup. When it came to my makeup, she came prepared (tons of makeup and a chair). Generally, I am minimal in primping; but, this day I wanted to be glam. When I turned around and saw myself in the mirror; I cried. I hate looking in the mirror on most days; Amanda made me beautiful and glam. I didn't have matching lipstick and she gave me one of hers. She is top notch and I would recommend her to anyone...I would also use her again. My Bridesmaids, the mothers, and grandmothers also would recommend her. They also looked beautiful.

Amanda did an incredible job with my wedding! She came to the venue and did all of my bridesmaids, mother, mother in law and of course my makeup. She is so right. You invest all of this money, time and effort into planning your wedding day and the photography. Why would you not invest the money to ensure that you and your most important gals look fabulous all day and especially in the photos?

My wedding party really liked her and she worked so well coordinating with our hair stylist. Everyone kept asking me post the wedding photos coming out, "Who did your makeup and hair?" Thats exactly the kind of comments you want after the photos come out. :) That means we picked the perfect team!

I highly recommend Amanda! You will love her and her work!

Amanda was great.She did a beautiful job of applying makeup to nine bridesmaids, the bride, and the two mothers. She was very sensitive to our individual desires for more or less makeup and we all looked beautiful when she was through. She was very pleasant and obviously enjoys what she does.

Gorgeous makwup

Amanda did an amazing job for my wedding this past weekend. She did 1 bride, 4 bridesmaids, and 3 mothers makeup in about 3 hours. She did an awesome job and my makeup stayed ALL NIGHT! I only had to reapply lipstick/gloss. Thank you!!!

Wonderful!!

I had Cierra do my wedding makeup as well as my mother’s and bridesmaid’s makeup. She was so laid back and great. She did a wonderful job of listening to what you wanted but also using her knowledge to make your makeup look awesome. I would highly recommend using this company for any big event you have. I also used Brides By E for my hair and found out about them through Makeup By Ravishing. It was great to have them as a package deal and my hair was GORGEOUS as well as my bridesmaids! If you are looking for hair as well I would ask about Brides by E from Amanda.

At first I was a little hesitant with Amanda and we didn't seem to get along well because we could never seem to get a time to get together. I think it was frustrating on both of our ends. Finally, we were able to get together and do a trail run which gave us a lot of idea about where we needed to go with the makeup and what we needed to change from the trail. Amanda and her helper arrived early on scene and got straight to work! The Cabin we rented was a little darker inside than we had thought it would be but she worked right through it!!! She was quick to get all of the girls done and each of our makeup looked amazing, even mine!!! I'm so glad I went with her and had a chance to meet such a wonderful person!!! Thanks Amanda!!!

Beautiful makeup but communication not as efficient

Cierra, Amanda’s assistant, did an amazing job on my wedding day makeup and the mother of groom’s makeup. I was looking for a elegant bridal look that still felt like me, and Cierra absolutely nailed it. She was talented, approachable, arrived on time, and I loved my look! I had a makeup trial about a month before the wedding day and found it very helpful to get on the same page and know what to expect for the day of. After the trial, I did request a few minor tweaks and Cierra was very receptive and made sure I was completely happy with it on the wedding day before leaving. I booked both hair and makeup services through Ravishing, though hair is contracted with local hair stylists so Amanda was in charge of makeup only. My initial booking was through Amanda, then from there I communicated directly with Cierra (for makeup) and the hair stylist to schedule the hair and makeup trial and coordinate the day of timeline. Communication often required a lot of back-and-forth and I often felt put in the position of being a go-between with the various parties. For example, I confirmed with Cierra the number of people receiving makeup services, but I then needed to confirm this same information back to Amanda when I found this hadn’t been communicated to her. Likewise, when planning the wedding morning timeline, I needed to go back and forth multiple times between the hairstylist and makeup artist to confirm times and details, which added stress and would have been easier had they coordinated with each other directly. I was overall very happy with my makeup, but communication could have more efficient.

Pleased with Makeup

I was wanting to find a makeup artist that could work with me, my bridesmaids, and female family members the day of the wedding, preferably on location instead of having to go to a salon. I found Makeup by Ravishing through an internet search. I was able to book both hair and makeup services, though Amanda was in charge of makeup only and contracts with area hair stylists.

I did a makeup trial but unfortunately Amanda could not be there, so one of her assistants, Cierra, did the makeup and did a great job.

The day of the wedding, Cierra was on time and made good time with the 5 of us that had makeup done. One complaint with the makeup was that the false eyelashes had issues staying on after she left, but otherwise I was pleased with the look.

Another issue I want to be made aware is that Amanda was not always timely in responding to emails or clear on communication. For instance, I was under the impression that Amanda would be doing my makeup, even though she did not do the trial, but was told later that she was unable to come that day and Cierra would do it. I do not mind overall, as Cierra did my makeup trial, but there was miscommunication there. My understanding with waiting to get a response from Amanda was she was busy at the time for personal reasons, but I want brides to be aware that if booking with Amanda – while I was pleased overall again with booking – you may need to either be patient or send a reminder if Amanda does not respond to your emails right away.

As I said, other than that I was pleased and happy to have booked with Makeup by Ravishing for the wedding. The prices were reasonable, and the convenience of them coming to the ceremony site was so helpful and lessened the stress of the day!

The positives: Amanda did my makeup as requested and kept it simple. I have very oily skin and the makeup did not budge or get shiny despite the humidity and heat (I was quite sweaty from all the dancing). It was perfect!! The negatives: Amanda had scheduled a 2nd wedding prior to mine. She assured me this would not be an issue and that her assistant would arrive at the venue to start at 11:30, while she would arrive at 2:00 to do my makeup and finish up my bridesmaids. The day prior, I received a message saying the assistant would arrive as scheduled, and she would arrive between 3 and 3:30. Her assistant, Margaret, did not arrive until noon. However, she got right to work, and it seemed as though there would not be an issue. (Side note: Margaret was extremely nice and pleasant!) The time came and went, and the bridesmaids' makeup was finished, but Amanda had not arrived. This meant that I had zero makeup on and none of my bridesmaids had their lashes applied...and we were supposed to be getting in our gowns by 4:30. Amanda finally showed up after 4:00. It was a challenge to finish in time, but we managed. Amanda also does not take checks, which I completely understand. My parents were kind enough to pay for everyone's makeup, but they are old school and do not have Venmo or PayPal. My mom had already written Amanda a check with a very generous tip added on in my opinion, especially for someone that is VERY late. I take full responsibility for forgetting about the no-checks policy. When I told Amanda about the check and asked if this was okay, she scoffed and simply said, "The check better clear." How DARE you say such a thing?! I understand wanting to get paid, but how dare you just imply that my parents do not have the money to pay for your services when nothing had indicated otherwise. Pretty daring for someone that did only 1/8 person's makeup as discussed and was hours late, for which she never apologized.

I was very impressed with Amanda's portfolio and reviews, so I couldn't wait to meet her and have the makeup trial. She was very prompt with scheduling a date for both trials. I did not have much to give her for ideas at the first trial besides some pictures of what she's done in the past that I liked. The result was me looking like I was going to a pageant, which was very pretty by the way, but it definitely was not going to be my look for the wedding. I was then able to give her my ideas and critiques, but it wasn't very easy to get my points across. I had to reiterate two to three times about what I wanted instead of what she thought looked best for me. I obviously booked a second trial the week before the wedding. She maybe once showed me my face as she applied the make up, and then did not want to change anything on the spot that I did not like or was uncertain about. Just one example is when I asked to see what one of the other lashes might look like, and she replied that would be a waste of lashes. My mom offered to pay more, so we could see my complete look! I almost felt like a bother for having a redo. Though the second trial look was an improvement, I still wanted changes on the big day. After all, what bride doesn't want to look her absolute best? We then talked by text which I was thankful for and agreed upon a look. Amanda and her assistant finished right on time applying makeup to 8 people in 2-2.5 hours. I will note that I agreed to do my own eyebrows because I didn't like how she did them on both trials. Additionally, everyone has to apply their own mascara and lipstick the day of. The foundation suited my skin color wonderfully, but the eye shadow (though very pretty) was still much different than what we agreed on. I thought my mom's make up and the bridesmaids' make up looked very nice, though a couple girls looked washed out in photos. Overall, we all felt pretty and she undoubtedly has skills, but it was not a perfect customer experience.

Very rude and not diverse

She did all of our make up, but was rude if we tried to talk to any of the bridesmaids while they were doing it. She made my sister-in-law look like way to fake. Her eyebrows were way too dark, and her foundation was the wrong shade. My poor sister-in-law had to takeoff the make up in order to look good. do not recommend her
