Alyssa is truly incredible! She made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day and was an absolute pleasure to communicate with throughout the process. My best friend and maid of honor had never worn full makeup before and was very anxious about it, Alyssa made her feel so comfortable every step of the way during the trial and made her feel so confident wearing makeup. We all had so much fun with her on the wedding day, aside from being extremely talented she is also professional, organized and timely! I can’t recommend her enough and am already looking forward to another special event in my life so she can do my makeup again.

Loving what she does!
Over the moon with my makeup on my wedding day! Alyssa could not have been more kind, attentive and talented! Through booking, the trial and to finally my wedding day! Felt so heard and seen by Alyssa not just another person in her chair! My makeup lasted over 10 hours, through sweat, tears, and lots of smiles! She’s compassionate and extremely talented at what she does and it shows! -

Alyssa was an absolute dream to work with from start to finish. She did my hair and makeup for both of my engagement photoshoots, my trial, and my wedding day; every single time, she exceeded my expectations.
Not only is she incredibly talented, but she truly listens and brings your vision to life in a way that feels natural, elevated, and completely you. On my wedding day, I felt like the best version of myself, and the best part? My hair and makeup did not move. From happy tears during the ceremony, to taking photos outside in the cold breeze and wind, to dancing and jumping all night long, everything stayed flawless.
Her pricing is very fair for the level of skill and professionalism she brings, and she made the entire process feel so seamless and stress-free.

My bridal hair and makeup experience with Lyss was incredible and I highly recommend if you want someone not only to make you look and feel beautiful, but make you their priority and make it fun. As someone who is fair skinned and sensitive to products/makeup, thinking about my wedding makeup and wedding photos was pretty daunting. I had put extensive research into options and found Lyss though marketing for my bridal shop (Kimberly James) and my venue (Terrain). I ended up saving over 10 makeup looks that were done by her and reached out. We discussed my normal makeup look and daily skin routine, what I was looking for in wedding makeup, educated me on what the different looks I had saved entail and reassured me she only uses the best products for her brides. During my trial, she absolutely nailed my hair and makeup off the jump and only made changes to the eyelashes on the wedding day. After talking with her just a short period of time, it’s like we were friends forever, she gets to know you and puts on your favorite music to make things comfortable. Lyss had been flexible throughout as well, I had a couple of changes to bridesmaids’ services and she easily accommodated and was so quick with her communication. She answered EVERY question I had when it came to the hair extensions- what are good ones, what length to order, how do I clean them etc. On the wedding day, she makes you the priority with a hand massage, calming sprays, and a complimentary touch up bag. The touch up bag was soooo important and so thoughtful and came in handy so many times! My husband and I hugged during our first look, and I got left some makeup on his jacket (whoops). The touch up kit had leftover makeup that I was easily able to fix up on my nose and chin and clean up his jacket. I had my makeup done at 10:30am and lasted until 2am, with compliments all night about how it lasted and how amazing it looked, but was still ‘me’. I had hugged people, cried, been in the cold, sweated, drank and eat all day and IT.DID.NOT.MOVE. The photo's are impeccable and an indicator of the magic she worked. If you want the queen of hair and makeup, Lyss is that gal. Highly recommend 10x over and hope to see her again in the future. Thank you! -

Wow! I felt like a Princess all day long!
I could not recommend Alyssa and her team more! She truly made me feel like a princess all day long for my wedding! Her and her team were so easy to work with and all my girls kept talking about how good they felt and how long the makeup latest! I got so many compliments seriously all day long and she really took my inspo pictures and made it come to life. Alyssa is so easy to talk to and I felt instantly comfortable with her. Her professionalism speaks for itself just as much as her insane talents! You need to book her now! -

Alyssa is the absolute best!!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Alyssa and her team! I had known Alyssa for years before I was even planning my wedding and when the time came to choose hair and makeup, I didn’t even hesitate to book her! I had total confidence she’d make me feel beautiful and she absolutely delivered. From the initial trial, to the day of the wedding and all of the communication in between, Alyssa was so professional and kind and her attention to detail is so on point. The morning of my wedding, she made sure everything looked flawless but still felt like me, and kept the whole morning calm and fun. My bridesmaids and I all loved our looks, and everything lasted perfectly through hours of photos and dancing. It was such a comfort having someone I know and trust there on such a big day. Booking Alyssa for my wedding day hair and makeup was 10/10. She is an incredibly talented and super professional but also I felt like we could joke back and forth like we’ve known each other forever!
I have fine hair and was worried about achieving the volume I wanted, but Alyssa is a miracle worker with extensions! She flawlessly blended the clip-ins to create the voluminous, romantic hair of my absolute dreams. It held up perfectly all night.
For the makeup, I typically am someone who likes something more natural and was hesitant initially with wearing heavier makeup especially for a long period of time but we bounced ideas off each other during the trial periods and on my wedding day she created a beautiful, soft romantic look that everyone adored! The application was impeccable, long-lasting, and felt light on my skin.
She is truly the best and would love to work with her in the future one day! -

Dream wedding hair!
Lyss created the most stunning hairstyle for my wedding day. I was sooo happy with my hair and received so many compliments specifically about it throughout the day. It looked so full and voluminous and just honestly amazing and it didn’t budge the entire day which says a LOT considering it was a very hot day in June and I was dancing a ton. Simply Wonderful!
Lyss is by far the sweetest person ever. I had been trying to find a hair stylist for months when I finally came across Lyss. She was so easy to talk to and positive from the moment I met her/had my trial. She was very communicative and responsive— as well as very flexible. She did an AMAZING job with making my bridesmaids, myself, my mother, and my mother-in-law look stunning and even serviced a few other women in my family who asked to join day of. If you’re looking for an artist that does both hair and make up, is reasonably priced, and travels, look no further!! I had an amazing experience with Lyss. She listens to your ideas and concerns and is willing to work with you. As the bride, she did my make up along with some my bridesmaids and family members. From the beginning when we started with my bridal trial, until the day of the wedding Lyss handled her business like a professional. I asked for a soft glam hair and make up style and she nailed it! I was so happy with her work. Lyss is kind, responds to text messages and emails in a timely manner, and truly cares about her clients. Also, the quality of her make up products shows in her work. I had layers of makeup added, and it did not look greasy or crease. My hair lasted all day and into the night. If you choose Lyss you will not be disappointed! -

Alyssa was so amazing to work with. She was very professional and was fast with her replies, and would post on her instagram if she wasnt able to reply right away. Lyss did my hair for two events during my 3 day wedding weekend and I can not recommend her enough! From our initial meeting I knew I was in good hands with her professionalism and kind nature. As a South Asian bride, I had many jewelry pieces that attached to my hair and scarf. I was especially worried about this because I did not want them to shift and move during the day. Lyss was so amazing! She was recommended to me by another bride. I had no idea what I wanted hair or makeup wise. On the wedding day, I completely changed my mind, wanting a natural rather than a glam look. It was perfect. I felt both elegant and spruced up while staying true to my very plain self. I have seen my mom wear makeup once in my whole life. Needless to say, she was nervous about the process. In the end, she was totally into it, loving how she looked and felt. I don’t even have enough words to express how grateful I am to Alyssa for making me feel so beautiful on my wedding day. I am beyond thrilled that she was the one to do my makeup! Not only is she excellent at what she does, but she’s also a really fun person to be around. She fit right into my bridal party as one of the girls! My makeup was flawless throughout my entire wedding day and she even so kindly left me with some of her makeup to do touch ups throughout the day. However, I never even needed touch ups because my makeup stayed perfectly intact from 7:30 am all the way through my after party concluded at 2:30 am! I married the love of my life on November 4, 2023, and I can confidently say that my wedding day, the most important day of my life, would not have been the same without Makeup By Lyss. To be completely transparent, there are impossible beauty standards placed on brides by society and social media. It can really take a toll on you during the wedding planning process - especially the days leading up to your wedding. It’s so easy to look in the mirror and pick out everything you don’t like about the way you look, and I was really nervous about how I would feel about myself on my wedding day. I can confidentially say that I have never felt more beautiful in my entire life than I did on my wedding day. I felt like a princess. And that is thanks to Lyss. I’ve never gotten so many compliments about how beautiful my hair and makeup was or questions about “who did your hair and makeup”. Everyone wanted to know!! Not only was it magical, but it lasted all night long. My intricate, fairytale-like updo stayed in place the whole night even through 2+ hours of dancing!! I’m a cryer. And not like a little tear here and there. I mean there was a flood of tears coming down my face, and I had to do minimal touch ups throughout the night for Lyss’s signature makeup look. I could really go on and on and on about her. Not only is she an incredible artist, but she is an incredible human. I’m truly grateful and honored that she was my bridal hair and makeup artist 💗 -

Elyssa was not the vendor that I originally booked for hair but she was brought to us for a reason! My hair stylist unfortunately got Covid the day prior to our wedding. However she already reached out to Elyssa for us and had her booked for us the next day! I was nervous since I didn't have a trial with her but she really stepped up for us. She was extremely personable, quick, and responsive. She adapted to what each of us wanted in no time. All 5 of us were EXTREMELY happy with how our hair turned out. I cannot thank Elyssa enough for showing up for us and out doing herself! -

Alyssa was absolutely amazing from day one! Her and I got in touch and she was very responsive and flexible with scheduling and setting up my trials, and adding services to my already busy request for services for myself and the bridal party. From the first time I met her I felt instantly comfortable like I was hanging out with one of my friends. Never did I feel pressured to like anything or uncomfortable to change anything (which I never had to because she is amazing) if I wanted to. The photos, conversations, and inspiration photos we shared made it incredibly simple to know I was in good hands on my wedding day. My trial for makeup was amazing and I remember her turning the mirror and me being shocked that she made me look like a better version of myself without changing my features. My hair trial came out prettier than the inspiration pictures. I love that she took videos and photos as well from those trials to have on hand for my wedding to know things would be the same if not better the day of. The quality of product, conversations, and professionalism were unmatched. Then it came to wedding day! Alyssa laughed with us, danced with us, and made everyone feel comfortable and I love that we could truly just be ourselves and she fit perfectly into that. She made getting ready such a pleasant experience and truly made me feel like a princess. In my wildest dreams I never imagined my hair and makeup to match my wedding day as perfectly as it did. Not to mention…my hair and makeup did not move all day even with how windy it was at times! I know she was hired to do a job but she quickly became more than that, she became a friend. She is an incredible person with extraordinary talent and holds a special place in my heart for how I look back and remember my wedding day! I cannot thank her enough for the amazing work she did and created for my wedding day! -

Best Hair and Makeup artist!
Alyssa and I immediately hit it off! She’s amazing and personable. She made me feel so comfortable and relaxed on my wedding day. We laughed the whole time she was doing my hair and makeup. I have never gotten more compliments on my hair and makeup than I did before. My curls stayed in ALL day (even in the rain) and my makeup was flawless all day as well! I could not recommend someone more if you want to look flawless on your wedding day and have some laughs as well. -

I found Alyssa on Instagram after searching for a hair & MUA that offered bride only services and that travelled. She is such a gem! 💎. I had my trial at her home studio which was such a cute & welcoming space- instantly felt comfortable. She answered any and all questions I had and addressed any concerns and made the entire process so easy. On the day of my wedding she was on time/schedule perfectly and once again created such a relaxing and calming vibe & matched my energy perfectly. She was able to adjust products as needed on the day of since I opted for the trial (DO THE TRIAL!). My hair and makeup turned out beyond amazing and stayed perfect allll day long & looked gorgeous in photos. I could not have found a better hair & MUA for my wedding day. I highly recommend Alyssa for any & all hair and makeup services! I will definitely be using her for any future events! -

I had a bridal trial with a previous artist that didn’t go quite as I expected so I booked a trial with Alyssa and before the end of our afternoon, we were besties and I KNEW she was spending my wedding morning with me to glam me and my girls up. I have wicked anxiety and Alyssa made me feel so comfortable in her chair and kept me and my girls laughing for hours. On the big day, she came along with a second stylist who did my husband’s hair and between the two of them, they slayed so hard. I knew I wasn’t the kind of bride that could do my own hair and makeup, I’d just stress myself out too much being the perfectionist I am. With Alyssa, I got to sit back and sip on mimosas, eat some sandwiches and trust that she was making me feel the most beautiful I have ever felt in my life. Finding vendors you trust for your big day is really hard but after my initial meeting with Alyssa, the choice was easy. Alyssa is responsive, experienced, reasonable and a true joy of a person. BOOK HER!!!! -

I hired Alyssa and her team for my wedding makeup and hair for myself, 11 bridesmaids, MOB, and MOG. Alyssa was so great to work with from my trial, narrowing down timelines, and keeping a positive attitude that is contagious! Alyssa helped me choose my the best hair extensions and accessories for my wedding day! Even when we had a slight hiccup during my trial, Alyssa was super professional and always made me feel comfortable and at ease. Most importantly, everyone looked gorgeous!! 10/10 recommend! -
