Hiring Traci and Dana for my wedding was the best plan! My bridesmaids' hair and makeup looked so gorgeous, and I absolutely loved the way I looked. Even better, they brought such positive, fun energy into our morning and really helped me calmed down and enjoy the pre-wedding details. Such amazing women! You definitely should start your wedding morning with them! -

Dana is the best!!!
My bridal party, family, and myself were beyond happy with the hair and makeup services Dana provided. Dana is professional and experienced. I am not an easy person to please and my Bridal party had very different styles. Dana was able to make all of us happy. I would highly recommend working with her to anyone and will definitely use her in the future. -

I got married on a 90* day in Chicago (hello humid) and I cried throughout the ceremony and reception because I was overwhelmed with joy and love. Did my make-up even budge? NOPE! I woke up the next day still looking like I was ready for the runway.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her. You will NOT regret it! In fact, you'll want to hire her for your personal makeup artist. You'll feel Hollywood sexy!

I always hear horror stories of people redoing their hair and make up after they’ve had it done as I did with my sisters wedding but me and all my girls loved how our hair and makeup turned out and didn’t need to even touch it up the whole night. The girls were super outgoing , understanding and flexible. Each of my girls got exactly what they asked more which someone’s is hard to do to please so many girls! Would definitely hire them for other events! -

Traci was a pleasure to work with for my wedding day and planning the beauty services for my wedding. As a bride during Covid-19, navigating the execution of a wedding is uncertain and you need to be prepared for anything. Traci is a professional, cares about her clients, and she is incredibly talented! The day of my wedding, Bre and Ashley were our makeup and hair stylists. They were friendly, energetic, and got along great with my family and bridal party. Bre and Ashley were attentive to the vision we had for styling. We all felt beautiful! Traci did my wedding with her coworker Diane and they did an amazing job I cannot say enough great things about them! I knew it would be awesome they arrived on time set up was smooth the day went so smooth they allowed for extra time just in case and we were done two hours ahead of schedule! Plus we had 11 ladies getting both hair and make up services not only did my day of come true but the whole process with working with Makeup And Hair By Traci and The salon‘s Weddings was seamless!! I booked her right away from a referral that I had gotten and paid my deposit booked my trial and was blown away I don’t wear a lot of make up ever and she made me look flawless so I could not even imagine what my wedding day would be... they had exceeded all of my expectations and beyond! After reading some of the reviews on Wedding Wire website I did not get distracted by a few negative comments because I know how stressful it is to plan a wedding and execute. They were so very very nice and accommodating and I must say that Traci is very very professional and extremely responsive!! She got back to me every single time I reached out to her within minutes unlike all of my other vendors LOL!
Thank you so very much again Makeup And Hair By Traci & The Salons Weddings for making my wedding day dream come true I felt and looked like a princess! I will send pictures thank you so much again! -

This review is long overdue since I got married in May, but better late than never! I could not speak more highly of Traci and Deb. Deb actually did my mom's hair for a wedding back in the 90s, and she even recognized her!! Therefore, you know you are getting great, experienced care & service. I immediately felt comfortable with them at my hair and makeup trial; they made me feel like a real bride. Traci was extremely helpful and responsive to the point where it felt like we were texting over email. The hair and makeup exceeded my expectations! She even helped me through some confusion/mixups with my contract; we got it all worked out and she was very patient. You will not be disappointed if you choose Hair and Makeup by Traci! -

Fun and fabulous
I am a procrastinator and that didn’t change for planning my wedding. I found Traci through a google search trying to find somebody who does airbrush as well as airbrush and eyelashes included and she was quick to reply and actually was going to be available for my 8.18.18 wedding with only about 2 months notice because I think they had a wedding cancelled (eeek)!! A bridesmaid and I showed up to a salon in elmhurst July 8th for my trial for hair and make up. I was very happy with their (Traci and her hair stylist) personability and talent. My bridesmaid that came is good at hair and make up and she was planning to do her own and then decided to also use them the day of the wedding after seeing what they were capable of. Traci was so generous she even offered to help me with any of the wedding planning I still needed to do (all of it).
Leading up to the wedding, Traci was very quick with responding to any random things I emailed out about. Her contract was short and concise, so there weren’t any questions on my end.
The morning of the wedding they were prompt. They were energetic!!! They were also very calming to me because they made it just feel like a fun girls day. 9 ladies were getting their hair and make up done and Traci timed it perfectly. She didn’t save me for last so I wasn’t feeling rushed, but then touched up again as needed at the end. That morning she felt like one of my
Girlfriends and I was so happy to have her there. She has us use our own
Lipstick and mascara if we have it and the lipstick my sister was going to lend me was the wrong color than she meant to bring. I tried it anayway and Traci was honest when I asked what her opinion was and fortunately another bridesmaid had a better option!
Payment was easy. There had been one site automatically quoting her at a price lower than she actually works at but the site had not been updated and she honored the lower price for me.
I was very happy and would recommend her! -

Fantastic!
Traci was super friendly and easy to talk to. She did really well to adjusting my makeup from trial to day of. All of my bridesmaids and mothers enjoyed having their makeup done. Their make up looked natural and suited all of the girls looks. She was able to be flexible with pictures going on at the same time and was able to get all the girls done on time with our tight schedule and large wedding party. -

I have to say, out of all of the vendors that I have had on my wedding team Traci was by far the best!! She did an amazing job with everybody’s makeup including my mom and grandmother 9 bridesmaids and of course, myself! Her team including herself and a girl named Deb who was just as amazing for hair I had met a few other team members of hers and they were all super friendly and extremely talented and very professional. I could not have asked for a better team to work with my bridal party on my special day thank you so much Traci I will DEFINITELY be using you for future events and DEFINITELY will be passing on your info to ALL my future bride to be gf’s! She was so flexible and accommodating to my schedule, she was hilarious and so fun to work with, she listened to what I was looking for and adjusted easily when I wanted tweaks or changed my mind. I received so many compliments not only on my hair and makeup but also all the girls raved about her and how fun she was the morning we were all getting ready! I HIGHLY recommend Traci for any event you may need to get a little extra glammed up for!

My bridesmaids and I were all very happy with our look. At first I was nervous about the airbrush and fake lashes, but Traci assured me that I would still look like me, and proved that to be true in a very thorough consultation/practice run a few months before the big day. My makeup held throughout the 16+ hour day and I loved how it turned out in photos. Thank you Traci! *Amount spent with this vendor is for all 9 people*

I loved working with Traci for our Nov 2019 wedding. She sometimes took a while to answer emails, but she was so flexible and great overall that I didn’t mind. I wasn’t crazy about the trial run (my makeup looked great, but I didn’t really get a sense of what my hair would do since Deb curled it, half styled it, and then undid it so it would be a surprise but I wanted to make sure it held up all day... If I could go back, I wouldn’t waste my money on the trial, just book and trust that they know what to do). They arrived ready and on time the day of the wedding and beautified everyone very quickly. Deb did everyone’s hair and left an hour before Traci did (which I thought was odd... made it seem like she was in a hurry), but Traci stayed and chatted and made sure everyone got touch ups before she left so we appreciated all her hard work to make sure her work was perfect. Everyone’s hair/makeup stayed in place all day. My girls, my mom, and I all felt so beautiful. We’re all not makeup people and Traci made sure we all looked like ourselves - just a lil more dolled up. Thank you! -

Makeup Is Great Hair is Terrible
Traci who does the hair is not an advance hairstylist. She is erratic and did everyone including my hair with backcombing and terrible technique. The makeup persons were very refined in their technique. The biggest issue with Traci is that she has no professionalism and after a mistake had been made (they accidentally packed up my 6000 dollar laptop and realized the mistake they refused to bring it back to our hotel and rather Traci offered to ship it to me or make me drive to get it about an hour out of Chicago. Why she did not make every attempt to return my laptop and rather made me spend over 100 dollars getting back my own property that she took is beyond me. I had my hair done and sowed her how I wanted it (1st picture) but rather she could not do the curls (picture 2 with my husband) and it was a pathetic mess of tangles and nothing like I wanted. -

Had a beautiful and flawless trial with Dana, however no one reached out to me for a few months and finally the week leading up to the wedding when I tried to reach out to Traci, the owner who was also supposed to show according to my contract, said they couldn't make it and sent me 3 inexperienced makeup artists instead. I did not like my makeup, it was cakey, flakey, and just looked nothing like my trial, same with my hair style, which I had to partially do myself (the braid).
I paid $2,045 for the day alone for 9 of us, and I didn't like that some of my bridesmaids were so unhappy with their makeup that they cried, had it redone a few times, and some broke out with rashes, to what we assume may have been due to unclean brushes.
I wish I could have had Dana there because she truly did a great job on the trial, alas it was not meant to be and I found Traci's Makeup and Hair business to be unreliable.
Do not recommend. -

I wrote this on another wedding website but it's worth mentioning here. I had a racially mixed group of people needing hair and makeup services, Traci has said that I am "25% Hispanic," but I am actually 50% Indian with full Indian people needing hair services. I was pleased with the makeup in the trial, but on the day of my wedding she switched artists and did the makeup herself and we were unhappy. I spent time in my trial matching skin tone and the MUA understood that I have unusual undertones for my complexion which requires a little correction and she worked with me on it. The day of, the makeup was very different from my trial and I didn't like how it looked at all. I liked the hair stylist who came, but I wish I could have worked with her before. I had a special hair accessory I wanted to wear that I based my whole look around and they couldn't incorporate it the day-of because I never got to work with them or discuss it prior. Traci has said that she has all this documentation that we were happy, but if you see how her communication style is when someone has an issue with her, she's very aggressive and so it's possible I said whatever I needed to say to get her to leave. She has said she changed artists because of wrist surgery (she seems to have a lot of emergencies) and that she was in so much pain that she couldn't speak, but she dominated the conversation so much that I couldn't even have a nice interaction with my bridesmaids and MOB/MOG. I didn't even open the sparkling wine my cousin brought because I was stressed and upset and ready for her to go. The trial felt like a waste, we didn't feel her services weren't very good in the end, she communicates aggressively and will sometimes insist that you are a totally different race than you are... I regret going with her so much because I feel like all my wedding photos are unusable.
ETA: she sent me an email that said "Just so you know, I have hired a legal team for your slander and defamation of my character. You're trying to paint me as a racist? No problem, just letting you know this has escalated."
ETA: In one response to me she mentioned that I am commenting on her religious views, but I just want to note that I never knew what those were. -

She was great on the phone and her gallery was beautiful. She lost my contract which I have a copy of the email where I sent it to her in December. She rearranged the date and time of practice sitting after promising me that she wouldn't. I specifically mentioned that I was hiring her because others kept changing times. She talked constantly during the practice sitting. She interrupts and her young daughter was quite the distraction. I didn't like eyeliner on the inside of my lash line because it closes my eyes. She said it was because of the false lashes. She tried to change the time of my makeup for the wedding--THREE DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING. I told her at the practice that I needed hair and makeup completed by 3:45. I didn’t want it done earlier because I didn’t want my hair to fall. I don’t know how long it takes them to do it. I’ve never done this before. They chose a start time of 11 and would be last done. She sent a text a few days before the wedding that she needed to move the time up because she had to pick her daughter up at 2pm! I didn’t want to be done 3 hours before my wedding with no “before” photography. didn't know when I booked with her if two of my bridesmaids would make it. So I told her that I would meet her minimum with other family or friends. She must have forgotten and then canceled. Told me that she would refund my deposit and never did. Stopped responding to texts. Told me she would call but didn't. Because I booked too far in advance, I couldn't dispute the charge to my credit card. I never got my refund. Never will. She may have been very good at make-up. But to cancel on a bride willing to pay tells me she probably got a better offer. It was a stress I didn't need. I did my own makeup and it turned out great! I read other reviews on Google where she overcharged other people as well. I should have done more research. At least I didn't need to take a Xanax!f I contacted the hair stylist that worked for her directly and hired him directly. I paid full price to him directly. Now she says she sent him. He was glad to have the job still because he didn’t have anything else lined up that day. She says now that deposits are non refundable. But SHE canceled on ME. She said she would refund then ghosted and blocked me. I got some pretty nasty texts because of my review. Beware. Below are screenshots of text with her. The first to show her trying to change the time and canceling on me and telling me she would give me the deposit back. And then shifting gears. The last ones show me paying the hairstylist directly. Thank goodness I had his phone number from asking him about hair products. Because when she canceled on me she never said she was sending David. I hired him directly.
