The best unique wedding venue!
We fell in love with the Majestic Metro the moment that we walked into it and had to look no further for the perfect wedding venue for us! It was unique and so much fun, not to mention beautiful and looked great in our pictures. All of our guests said that they have never had so much fun at a wedding! The staff was so helpful and they really will work with you and your budget. I would recommend this to anyone who wants something unique and exciting for their wedding reception and/or ceremony! -

Silent Movie Wedding - spectacular!
I loved having my wedding at the Majestic Metro! I put my big day together in just 3 months and Linda and Jason were with me every step of the way - always willing to meet me there and answer any questions I had. The space is SO cool and made the day memorable. People are still talking about the wedding and about how it was the most fun they've ever had! We went along with the silent movie theme and filmed a silent movie of our own to premiere at the wedding. The movie title was even on the marquis for all of downtown to see! We also made our own original movie posters to put in the poster cases. Everything came together so well and I just wish I could relive that evening over and over again.-

Majestic Metro is the BEST wedding venue in Houston. Linda and Jason were so amazing to work with and helped us with EVERYTHING we needed. I don't know what we would have done without Jason! He made our wedding day run so smooth and made our day so perfect! -

We initially booked and indoor / outdoor wedding and reception at a venue in River Oaks. Two days prior to event, the weather forecast was not looking good (100% chance of rain all day). I called Majestic Metro and immediately got a response from Linda. The next morning I was viewing the space and going over my options. Linda and the Majestic team were beyond helpful in getting us set-up and secured on such a short turn around. The day of, upon arrival, everything was so much more than what we imagined it would be. The professionalism of the Majestic staff was such a treat - especially considering the stress of planning a wedding, then having to change venues two days prior and notifying all our guests and vendors of the change.
Luckily our wedding was on a Wednesday as this was our anniversary date. We had called a couple other venues prior to Majestic asking about changing and even though they were available - the customer service was just not good. After speaking to Linda with Majestic - and viewing the space - we needed no more looking.
I will never forget our special day. Thank you so much Majestic Metro. Your amazing venue saved the day! Should have booked here from the begining.
I hope this review helps anyone on the fence, and considering options. Majestic Metro is a Great location - amazing value - and offers an incredible experience. Also, if you are looking for a good wedding planner - Kat Creech Events is the best!
If you are wondering - yes it rained (a lot)... -

Our overall experience at the Majestic Metro was perfect from beginning to end. Linda was very sweet and willing to answer any and all of our questions. She was very accommodating as well, which we very much appreciated! The day of our wedding, the entire event went off without a hitch and all of our guests raved about how unique and beautiful the space was. I would highly recommend this venue not only because of the amazing service we received but for how strinkingly beautiful the space was-- it is definitely the most unique venue in Houston! -

My husband and I wanted a venue that was different from the norm and that had character and The Majestic Metro gave us all that! As soon as I walked in, I loved it and knew that it would be the perfect place for our ceremony and reception. We loved having our wedding there and couldn't have been any happier with how it all turned out. Bonus was that both of our fathers had actually watched movies at Majestic back in the day when it was a theater. Loved that! -

Okay, I am FINALLY getting the chance to write about how AMAZING our experience at The Majestic Metro was for our wedding. Linda Warwick was an absolute delight to work with from the very beginning of planning to rent the space. Her energy and infectious enthusiasm made us smile every time. And during the celebration, Jason made everything run so smoothly with such a calm and assuring demeanor. The place is STUNNING and very affordable. So please take this high praise as genuine. And I'd be remiss not to thank Michael and his team at Master Chef Catering for the food that people STILL rave about to this day. All this made our day absolutely perfect! -

I always imagined I would have a bohemian type wedding, outdoors, wildflowers and all that, but when I walked into the Majestic Metro, everything changed. I absolutely fell in love with the venue. It was perfect and my whole wedding theme instantly changed. I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. The staff, Linda and Jason, were so great to work with and the DJ was amazing. The light show is beyond compare and the venue is beautiful without any decorating. I just absolutely loved my wedding day because of this gorgeous, historic venue. -

We held both my ceremony and reception in the Majestic Metro on Set 5. 2015. I could not have been happier with how everything turned out. Everyone was amazing. The venue ended up looking amazing and I know all of my guests had a really great time. I would definitely recommend the Majestic Metro for any type of event. -

This venue and the people that support you from Majestic Metro are absolutely amazing. They were always very responsive, accommodating and priced for perfection. If you are just like any other bride and looking for a wow factor for your wedding on a price that you can afford THIS IS THE PLACE. I would recommend Majestic Metro for any and everything they offer. The DJ was amazing, the light show was more than I could have dreamed of and all in the most elegant atmosphere possible!! My daughter and son-in-law held their wedding ceremony and reception at Majestic Metro in early September. Both Linda Warwick and Jason answered our many questions and provided excellent customer service. We were very pleased with the venue. The only glitch was a few communication issues with the DJ. -

Sometimes you just get "that feeling" walking into a place. When Chris and I first stepped foot into the Majestic Metro we were blown away by the ambiance and welcoming owners, management, and staff. Only to find out what a value this treasure of a venue truly is. We had the greatest night of our lives celebrating our wedding with all of our closest friends and family here! We received nonstop compliments from all of our guests about this incredible venue. Looking back, I can't imagine our special day being held anywhere else. The name speaks for itself. The Majestic Metro is simply, "majestic". -

I am not a person who does many reviews or gives such high marks when I do participate in doing reviews, but for my wedding I had some of the most talented vendors and this vendor was tops. My husband and I used this venue for our Wedding Reception in October, 2014. This historic building is not only beautiful on its own, but fit our theme perfectly and doesn't require a lot of decor. So if you want to keep your decor cost to a minimum, this is your place. They have an amazing lighting system and DJ that is included in the cost of the venue rental. The DJ was awesome and played the music that we wanted to keep people on the dance floor...even the little kids had a blast dancing and was very accommodating in sharing the music by allowing my husbands band play a spotlighted set in the middle of the evening. Working with Jason and Linda was extremely easy. Linda is such an easy person to work with and talk to she went above and beyond the call of duty, I had a vendor issue that had me beyond stressed out in the last 2-3 weeks before our wedding day and she stepped in and let me vent and was able to get me to calm down. Jason manages the building and was extremely easy to work with, he made sure that everything on the venues end was in place to make sure my event ran seamless and perfect. We are still getting complements from our guests. If the need arises for another party, I wouldn't hesitate to coming back here. -

This is the most fantastic venue in Houston! It was a dream place for me and my wife's reception! My wife and I are big fans of old style architecture and design. This place had all the old features of the original theater with great modern sound system and stage that blended seamlessly into one another. The DJ they provided was perfect and saved us a ton of money hiring our own. They always were available to answer questions we had about different aspects of the reception and worked with us to make it a very special day. Thank you for making our wedding day one of the greatest celebrations of our lives! -

Louis at the majestic is so easy to work with, he does not email but will talk to you as many times as needed and will always call you back. The venue is historical and has an antique feel. It is very unique. The price included the DJ services, a great sound system, and lighting! Cannot beat it. It is in the heart of downtown Houston so close to many churches! -

Was a perfect venue and Lou was awesome. If I had any questions he was only a phone call away. I will tell you that COMPLETE MUSIC IN SPRING, TX was a preffered vendor of the majestic and I chose them since they were used so much there, BIG MISTAKE. DJ was good but the other services were BAD (videographer and photobooth). ALl the the pther vendors that were preferred were GREAT :) The venue is beautiful. If you are looking for the Old Hollywood Vibe this is your place. Thanks Majestic for a perfect night minus COMPLETE MUSIC RUINING EVRYTHING ELSE! -

Love this venue!! It is beautiful and unique. It is perfect for a bride who doesn't want a reception in a place that feels like a conference room, only decorated with wedding flowers. Louis was very nice to work with and always returns phone calls promptly. He doesn't email, which is different from most vendors, but is so prompt about returning calls that it was not an issue. Before you book, be sure to clarify which vendors you have to use for certain things (ex. photo booth, alcohol, etc) because some categories are limited. It was very worth it though and I can't imagine a better location for our reception. -

The Majestic Metro is a highly unique, historical venue available for weddings and private parties. Our October wedding went flawlessly in the care of the Manager, Mr. Louis DeRose.
Both native Houstonians, my husband and I wanted our wedding to represent us and the city we grew up in. The Majestic Metro has bounds of historical significance in Houston and has been beautifully restored. This 1930s building has updated lights, sound and fixtures that rival any other venue in town.
The price is what sold us on the Metro. Comparatively, it is the best deal in town and they include more ancillary services than any other venue.
Highly recommended,
Jen and Matt Harold -

First, I have to say that we're not the ball room type people. This is the perfect venue for those who want something a little off the "bridal" menu but still had taste and class. Thanks to all of you, especially Linda & Jason! My only complaint is having to use Cafe Natalie for my bar. The guy was rude to many of my guests. Other than that, AMAZING. ? -

This venue MADE my reception. It was so much fun! Louis was so easy to work with because he's been doing events at the Majestic Metro for years and years.
You get a DJ with the package, and don't need to spend a lot on decorations since the venue is so beautiful on its own. Also, he has INCREDIBLE lights set up. So the value is GREAT for what you pay.
He is not available via e-mail, so you have to call to get a hold of him. This never created any problems for me except that I had to call him during my work hours. However, he is great at responding QUICKLY even if you leave a voice mail.
The dance floor is a stage with two levels, which is GORGEOUS and dramatic. However, it may be intimidating for some guests. I LOVED it, but it's just something to consider based on the personalities of the people you invite.
Louis made everything EASY. He let us drop off decorations the day before, he made sure all my vendors were in place, he followed up with me multiple times to make sure everything was OK. He put our names on the marquee, and did so much more. I HIGHLY recommend this venue if it suits your personality. Our guests LOVED it and had such a great time.

An Art Deco dream!
This venue is a very unique spot to celebrate your big day! The architecture is exquisite and having a DJ and lighting effects included in the price was a big plus for us. One thing to keep in mind is that there is no designated parking for this venue and there are restrictions on open flames, sparklers and confetti. Other than that, this is truly a gem in the heart of downtown and a beautiful place to get married. -

Majestic Metro is really unique, captivating, and in a great location (lots of hotels and bars within walking distance). The rental price is for 4 hours and includes DJ and lighting so that was a plus! All other options were an additional fee (extra time, marquee display, picture frames, microphone, etc.). The decor inside is beautiful and we received many compliments on the venue. I was able to plan most of the wedding myself, but I do recommend hiring a day-of coordinator to help facilitate the day. We had a wonderful experience here and would recommend if you are looking for something different.

Absolutely wonderful venue for anyone who wants to travel back in time to old time Hollywood but with your own current flair. The floor seating + adding the theater bar seating made it perfect for mingling.
We set up a buffet in the lobby area in a serpentine pattern which allowed a flow through and served from both sides. Our meat carver was positioned at the head of the table.
Cakes were set up in alcove and across from the cakes was a perfect spot for candid shots with fun accessories. A huge blast for all guests, young and old.
We used the dj but brought in our own band for the second half of the reception and danced the night away.
Louis was a great guy and really wanted to make your day your own. He will give you the names of vendors or you can find your own. We used Over the Top Linens, Every Whim Catering by Bobby, and Timtations Cakes. The bar set up worked great for our mixed Greek and American guests.
Because of the movie venue, we had huge bowls of gourmet popcorn drizzled with chocolate from Chocolate Pizzazz. It was a huge hit.
My daughter, the BRiDE, said she could not have imagined a better reception and the pictures are fabulous. We rented a 1940's limo to pick up the couple through a myriad of bubbles to complete the night. -

This place is great if you want something a little different, however, it does take a lot of decor to dress it up and that adds some expense, bit its nothing compared to how much you would spend at a hotel. The final outcome at my wedding was beyond amazing and I got a ton of compliments. The DJ was really good and came with the venue and you can choose your own caterer and get wholesale alcohol. I used everyone the Majestic Metro recommended (TJ's catering, artisan cakes, madola's liquor) and was beyond impressed. I only wish I had rented the place for 5 hours instead of 4. -

The Majestic Metro is an absolutely gorgeous venue but every little thing costs. I have no regrets about having my wedding there, but I do wish that more had been included in the price of the venue rental. It cost over $100 to use the marquee, $35 each to use the movie poster frames (there are four), over $150 to have the lights turned on along the sides of the theatre, and the cost of using the screen and projector was also extremely high. For a venue that charges over $6000 not including food or decor, it felt as though all of these extras should have been included in the cost of the venue rental. The manager is extremely responsive and helpful, but the owner is who much of the booking is done through and getting in touch with her was not always easy. A couple of my calls and emails were never answered and the $500 security deposit still had not been returned a month after the event. After inquiring about that, we were told that it had been sent and must have "gotten lost in the mail". They did finally send the security deposit but it was about six weeks after the wedding before the check was received. Overall, it is a beautiful venue but they do "nickel and dime" you. -

When my husband and I first walked into the place, we were absolutely amazed and when we both stood on the stage looking out at this historic theatre, we knew that we found our place!
Louis, the owner, is a straight up business guy, no email really, likes to do business and answer questions in person or over the phone (very old school like), but he gets the job done. Unfortunately, for us, he was not managing the actual event at night and wished he would have because he probably would have been more on the ball then the other coordinator that was there. Other than that, we had a fabulous wedding, everything ran smoothly.
The only thing I would suggest, is that if you are having a buffet dinner with more than 150 people, to do a set up that allows two lines instead of one. Our only hang up that night was that the line was slow during dinner, which delayed our timeline for the rest of the night.
Overall, if you are looking for a unique one of kind venue that won't break your bank account-this is the place. -

Majestic Metro is a gorgeous venue that requires very little decorating. They've recently remodeled the front, and along with a marquee and downtown Houston outside, it makes for great outdoor and indoor photography.
Louis is the manager, and while he's a bit blunt and opinionated, he always answers your questions and does--to the best of his ability--whatever you're requesting.
The DJ that accompanies the package--Complete Music--are also pretty good. My biggest gripe with them is that they're very hard to get a hold of and you don't have a lot of time to prepare with them what you're wanting. The DJ messed up on our aisle music a bit, and took some time getting our first dance going, but otherwise he did a great job considering he had about one email and one phone call to go off of.
My biggest gripe (which is why I gave a low rating on value), is the owner's interest in nickel and diming you. Yes, most venues charge extra for the little things, such as use of their microphone ($75) and their projection screen. What I think was the icing on the cake, however, was their idea of "event time." Our ceremony started at 5:00 pm. They allow 4 hours as their base price, but we wanted to stay until 10:00 pm. We were quite willing to pay the extra hour, but Louis told us that half an hour of that "free" event time had to be allotted for "guests showing up."
What?
So if we wanted our event time to start at 5:00 pm, we had to have our "event" time start at 4:30 pm. Which means our base event time ended at 8:30. An extra half hour cost $295, and an extra hour cost $595. Great way to squeeze out that extra buck last minute, huh?
Ideally they'd just roll this into their base price (and keep a 4 hour event time as just that, because since when is guests arriving a part of the event?). But even if they refuse to do that, at least TELL your clients about this cost up front rather than waiting to slide it into the contract a WEEK before the wedding. -

Overall, Majestic Metro is a great venue. The space is beautiful and requires minimal decoration. There’s natural separation of spaces, which allows for easy flow from cocktail hour to seated dinner. The DJ, which came included with the venue, was fantastic. Jason, the site manager, was a joy to work with. He answered all of our questions with patience, asked us questions we hadn’t thought of, and he (along with his team) ensured our event was perfect.
We did have a few issues leading up to the event that we unfortunately cannot overlook. Firstly, the venue was renovated and a number of high top built in tables removed. While the renovation allows for much more useable space, we were not informed. I had built my floral plan around those tables being there and had to scramble to change it Secondly, we had significant issues getting a signed contract from Linda. Overall communication with Linda was difficult and created unneeded stress in the final weeks before our wedding. Emails were often unanswered, or the question punted to Jason. Finally, we never receiving our deposit back, nor did we receive any communication regarding why we would not be receiving our deposit.
We would recommend the Majestic Metro as a reception venue, but would encourage couples to understand that it would be best to communicate with Jason rather than Linda.

I am very torn on this venue. It is really unique and different, which we really wanted, and I ended up loving my wedding, but be prepared to do A LOT of work yourself and be very frustrated. It can look gorgeous and be very fun with the right decorations, but the management is not the best. They do not have a computer so you can forget email. They close by 3pm so it is very hard to get in to see the place. The only thing included in the venue rental is the space, tables, chairs, and a DJ that you won't even be able to talk to until 30mins before the wedding (I wrote a very detailed list of the music I wanted and burned everything in order on a CD and they still played the wrong song for our entrance and it took them 3 tries to get the last song right). They claim that you can bring in any vendors that you want, but will give you a very hard time (snide remarks, jumping through hoops for approval) if you go with anyone other than the people they recommend. You will also be charged seperatly for use of the screen (one of the main selling points) microphones, etc. So basically if you want a smooth easy wedding, go elsewhere, but if you want something different and are willing to put in a lot of work and know that things will be messed up, go for it. -

DJ ruined Wedding
When I 1st saw the venue I immediately fell in love with the historic value & beautiful interior of the site. I was impressed w/ the lighting & the music part during the venue tour. Linda let us know that if we chose to add on the cost of her DJ, we could then & only then use the venue’s built in speakers and equipment. After she showed us a preview of the lights & music during the tour, we couldn't imagine bringing in our own DJ and having all his equipment taking up space where the ceremony and reception would take place. Two weeks before the wedding the DJ made his first contact with us. We filled out his 2 forms & included all the details for the songs we wanted played during the ceremony and reception. We also used the majestic metro's website to select songs we wanted played from their playlist per his request and provided him with a flashdrive with all songs that were important to us. The day of the wedding the ceremony guest seating begins, the DJ plays the song we had selected for dinner time while people are being seated for the ceremony. This was erroneous because the song was dinner specific, so it did not make sense. The mother, groom, deadno, walk down the aisle but the songs we selected were not played. It is my turn to walk down the aisle & he plays the dinner song again, I freeze in embarrassment when he abruptly cuts the music off when a guest tells him it is the wrong song. All guests stare at me as I wait for the right song to start playing-the DJ is scrambling through his papers complaining to a guest that he had too many papers. The DJ asked my guest to remind him what the song that should be playing that very moment. There is awkward silence as everyone waits. Remember that we had filled out the venue's forms beforehand with all the key songs &even provided a flash drive w/ labeled music. The ceremony begins & when it is time to light the unity candle, the song we chose for that is not played.silence. The ceremony ends & the song he was supposed to play as we exit the stage never plays...silence. The DJ was supposed to announce us as a couple, he never does. The DJ was to dedicate two different songs to two different guests of honor but only ever dedicated one song to one of the guests leaving the other guest feeling left out. Errors like this continued on for the rest of the night. The DJ is supposed to lead the events throughout the reception ensuring a smooth fun night, yet he remained silent never announcing the key moments. Because he didn’t announce those key moments most guests missed the cake cutting. He made the event feel disorganized &awkward after we spent a lot of money ensuring we had the best of everything. I felt that the DJ ruined so many special moments throughout the night for us. I feel really disappointed in the venue since that was their DJ. When I let Linda know after the wedding, there was no real sense of regret on her part. Her response was that she had always received good comments on her DJs which felt like she was invalidating our experience. She even questioned why I had tipped her employees if the DJ had been so bad, my response was that we don't stiff people &the tips were meant for the other two individuals working the event. If I were to redo the wedding, I would choose a newer venue with employees and managers who could dedicate themselves to a successful event. With as much money that goes into paying for a wedding you really need to choose a venue & people that you can trust. -
