There aren’t enough words in my vocabulary to describe what an amazing time it was having Maija photograph our wedding. She is excited, happy, fun loving, and heartfelt. And serious when she needs to be. Her style of get the candid, do a pose, and get a candid again, is amazing. Every picture felt completely natural. We also did our engagement session with her and if you are unsure if you should do an engagement session, I say, 100% yes! Even if it is only to bond with your photographer, it is totally worth it. During our wedding Maija felt completely like family and I was so excited to see her when I arrived at the venue. It was all amazing having a second photographer. There was always a photographer when you wanted/needed one and they were both so so helpful. I can’t rave enough about her, but just know, she is worth every penny and so, SO much more.

We highly recommend Maija for your wedding photographer. She was referred to us by our wonderful venue owner and now we know why! From the planning session to the engagement shoot to the Big Day, she was outstanding to work with in every way. We are thrilled with the quality of our photos, and the quantity vastly exceeded the contracted amount. She made us feel so comfortable and special on both dates. In addition, we picked the hottest day of the year to marry (108 degrees!) and she and her assistant Ebony, with their positive energy, worked tirelessly outside in the heat to photograph us and our families after the ceremony. Maija holds a special place in our hearts. My husband and I eloped in 2020, and she graciously photographed our elopement at that time. Then, when things settled down and we had time to plan a wedding with all of our people, we of course asked Maija to join us again to photograph our wedding celebration! So when I say I would work with her again, I really do mean it! Maija is very talented photographer. She manages to capture every detail to make it stand out perfectly, whether that's with decor, table settings, clothing, etc, or in people, bringing out the best features in everyone. Every photo that I have from our elopment AND wedding celebration is so stunning. She is extremely professional and a very good communicator...plus, she's super fun! We love Maija! Maija was amazing from our first meeting to our engagement pictures to our wedding day and everything in between! Her communication was great throughout the entire planning process and she helped us create a very specific timeline for the day of to help us stay on track. Maija captured every detail of our wedding day perfectly and got every picture done so efficiently! I never felt like the photos were dragging on (which has definitely been the case in other weddings that I have been in) and she didn't keep us away from the dance floor long for our Golden Hour photos which we were super happy about :) I will 100% be recommending Maija to everyone I know and am excited to have her photograph our family over the years as it continues to grow! :)

Highly recommend for a destination wedding :)
Maija was recommended to me by a wedding planner. I was looking for someone who produced beautiful images that were bright, and didn’t look like a filter was pasted over every image. We also were looking for a photographer that would be a fun addition to our intimate destination wedding. And boy, did Maija deliver. We were all set to head to Cabo in April 2020 but due to covid, we had to delay until November. She was so understanding with all the plates we were trying to juggle, and was always a calm and reassuring voice in the midst of the crazy. When our wedding day finally arrived, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. Her and her assistant captured every moment to perfection, every little glance and thoughtful touch we have preserved in picture form. I cannot recommend her enough and we are so grateful that she captured our favorite day. The best part is I know this won’t be the last time that we will take pictures with her. Even though we live outside of Seattle and she lives in Boise, I know that we will be clients and friends for many years to come.

The QUEEN of Photography
We had been searching for a few months for a wedding photographer that we knew was going to capture our day perfectly when we came across Maija's work. Instantly, we knew that this was the person we wanted to help (go check out her "About Me" page on her website, it's totally worth it). Maija easily blows all the competition out of the water. We don't particularly love being in front of a camera, but Maija did an incredible job of making us feel at home there. Her easy going nature made us feel comfortable, and made it easy to capture candid photo's. When it was time for a laugh, she had no shortage of ways to get us to crack up and capture some incredible photo's. From scouting out new and great locations on the fly for engagement photo's, to making your wedding day an absolute breeze, Maija can do it all. Most Incredible Confetti Catcher
THE MEETING: When just getting engaged you are BEYOND EXCITED and can’t wait to start planning. For me the photographer was the MOST important aspect of our special day. We were planning an out of state wedding because I just fell in love with our venue but I was nervous about finding a photographer and not being local. Well, let me just say that nervousness went away instantly when I first ever wrote Maija. Like any bride-to-be I was so excited and can write essay long emails to share and introduce myself and my fiancé so there went my essay to Maija and her reply was same day and met with the same excitement and essay back. I couldn’t believe it. I had written other photographers, just in case, and honestly their emails back just weren’t as authentic and personal like Maija’s. Her galleries spoke for themselves on how I KNEW she had to be the one to capture our day. But in our many exchanges of emails throughout the whole process I remember when my fiancé and I first FaceTimed her (since we lived out of state) and I just felt like I knew her. Her friendly and kind personality that I got to meet through emails shined even more on FaceTime. I knew because of that instant click that we were choosing the most perfect photographer in the Treasure Valley! She was so helpful when discussing budget and you know those complicated family details, lol. She made it all so easy leading up to our big day. Meeting Maija in person was just the cherry on top! I never once felt like I was one of many clients/weddings for her. Especially getting married in the Fall. She always responded quickly and in the same enthusiasm I put out I was met with. I loved our emails and planning for the big day.
THE WEDDING DAY: Maija had it all down. She knew the important shots we wanted. She met us in our element and in our personalities. “Serious face shots” aren’t my jam. Lol. I laugh a lot and smiling is just my natural state - and she captured those getting ready moments so beautifully. Moments that I didn’t even know she captured. One important one was praying with my bridesmaids and mom before hand. It’s a shot I cherish. Her ability to get ALL the shots and I mean ALL of them were amazing. Taking the family photos (which can get crazy lol) she was in control and lead with kindness and made it so fun. Even during my “bridezilla” moment with my veil not staying due to wind and it being so long, she assured me and helped me during it all and got THEEE SHOT! From our first look waking down the aisle to my groom to the reception and garter tosses and toasts - she captured the moments that we get to cherish forever.
I cannot write enough of how thankful I am God directed Maija into my wedding planning search because she is more than an incredibly talented photographer, she became my friend. We love her and her work so much we are excited about our maternity shoot with her over a year later after our wedding day. I wouldn’t want anyone else to capture these special life changing moments but her. Her passion and heart truly show in her photographs. The way she is able to freeze time in a frame of a moment is beyond me.

Maija has an incredible portfolio! Look into her website further for the scope of her art and creative lens perspectives. She was thorough and helpful in sculpting our approach for timing to our day and specific shots desired. Family appreciated having her onsite as she could help capture candid photos and suggest aesthetic decor alterations. Most important for us, she was available for video calls, and flexible amidst this pandemic and changing day to day county codes. We had wildfire smoke and a thunderstorm storm, and our photos still kept that warm, romantic glow amidst it all!!! You will be thankful you chose someone who feels like family amidst your event and the outcome provided. A Photographer, planner and family wrangler all-in-one
I simply cannot rave enough over Maija's contribution to what was the most stressful, nerve racking and ultimately best day of my life. Turns out when you invite everyone you love to a function as big as a wedding, it is like herding cats.
And Maija is an AMAZING cat wrangler.
With the assistance of 3 highly trained professionals (Maija for the photographer, a DJ crew and an official wedding planner- all of whom my family tried to talk me out of hiring,) every piece of chaos was managed with hardly a blip on the emotional radar.
And that is saying something, because as we all know, weddings are emotional affairs.
I would even go so far as to say, without the aforementioned professionals, it is questionable whether I would still be on speaking terms with all of my friends and family...
And that was a benefit of hiring Maija that I did not even know I was getting.
Her picture portfolio speaks for itself.
Her photos are truly beautiful and fully capture the essence of everything you would want to remember from such a special day.
I would recommend her on her skill with a camera alone, but where she truly shines is in her grace and caring while going through the process.
Maija takes care to focus on what you want, but brings a truly amazing empathy and flexibility to the task. There will never be enough time on your wedding day and she helped me find the right balance of staying on "schedule," but still experiencing the moment.
And with the pictures she took, I am able to go back, whenever I want, to experience it again and even see some of the things I missed the first time around.
Houses and cars will come and go, but you will never be able to recreate your wedding day. The pictures are once in a lifetime. Spend the money. Hire Maija. With the quality of pictures she takes you will want to carve out time just to browse through them for the sheer beauty of the product she provides.

#1 Wedding Photographer
Hands down the best wedding photographer in Boise!!! Wow...I feel a surge of emotion looking back at our wedding photos. Maija captured us so perfectly at our engagement session, all the moments & details leading up to our I Do's, and lastly our fun celebration. LOVE LOVE LOVE our photos!!! We had a large wedding party, lots of family, and about 400 guests. Maija kept everyone on track and everything went smoothly for us. She still managed to capture all the amazing wedding moments and details working her way around the busy reception. We initially decided to not have sunset photos due to the size of our wedding and the possibility of not being able to sneak out. We were surprised with a traditional Basque dance so Maija stayed longer than expected to capture this special moment for us. She even went above and beyond to sneak us out for the most beautiful sunset photos on the Basque Block following the dance. Mountain inspired parasol photography!
Maija, was amazing! Highly recommend her as a photographer! She was extremely professional and yet super fun in all of our interactions. We hit it off on our first call and knew it was a good match from there. We switched it up with our bridal party and used parasols instead of bouquets and Maija did an awesome job working with this switch and playing around with the lighting and poses with the group; she made beautiful artwork. Maija Karin Photography was our photographer for our engagement photos and wedding on 6/23/19. Aside from the quality of our photographs, our experience with Maija was amazing. During the engagement session, it was a blast to pose for her. She kept the day light and fun. Did I mention the photos turned out amazing!!!! She also sent us cute personalized gift which was above and beyond.
At the wedding, she was also great with helping plan out the day-of schedule and fitting in the photo sessions without interruption. She was amazing at finding the best locations for backdrops of various photos such as our first look. She and her husband made a great team. They battled wind, rain, and freezing cold for us. We received our photos in a timely manner afterwards. As we flipped through them, we couldn’t have asked for better photos. They will be something we cherish forever. Amazing, perfect, excellent
Maija was such an amazing photographer I could have ever asked to capture our special day. She made everything so easy and fun but also personable. We had so many laughs the entire time taking photos, everything was so comfortable. The photos came out beyond what I could have ever imagined, I look at them almost every week. She Made me Realize what my Groom saw
I will admit it first and foremost - I'm a lousy bride. Not in the Bridezilla sense but in the "I'm really uncomfortable being the center of attention" sense. So imagine my relief when I spoke with Maija the first time. Her compassion, enthusiasm and complete confidence in my ability to rock it was 100% what I needed. Of course I wasn't without hesitations - planning a wedding seems built to expose you to every possible insecurity you have and then add a few on top of it just for kicks. But the day of my wedding came and Maija was there - confident, calm, totally prepared and even more importantly, PATIENT with me. She helped me see what my groom saw. She helped me feel like myself and remember what the heck was going on anyway. She pushed out the noise, from outside (and inside) my head. She also put people in order! I didn't have to worry about coordinating, organizing, playing politics, nothing! All I had to worry about was frostbite... but that's my fault for getting married in tiny heels in mid-November in the mountains :) Maija was also perfect with my husband - he was extremely nervous about being expected to "Act" or be a "Bro" in cheesy pre-posed photos, but Maija was completely on top of it. Even when he couldn't express himself or his concerns clearly she knew what he was worried about and put him at ease. She was able to do this by truly getting to know us ahead of time - she's part photographer and part psychologist. The end result was fantastic pictures - and SO MANY OF THEM. We're STILL going through photos and trying to choose our favorites. My family is stunned at how amazing they all look and I am stunned that she was able to be everywhere at once... I mean seriously, how do you do that? She was invisible but everywhere and she took the most gorgeous, candid, touching photos we could ask for. Maija was the absolute best decision we made once we knew we were getting married. I couldn't ask for more and I will always treasure her work. We will actually be a couple that LOOKS at their wedding photos years from now!

Wedding in Italy with Maija
Maija is an incredible photographer - and someone you want to be there on your wedding day. She is so kind, funny, and open that you immediately feel like you're with a friend.
She traveled to Tuscany to photograph our wedding - and was a complete hit with everyone. Not to mention, she took INCREDIBLE photographs - I feel so lucky to have found her website, and even luckier that she agreed to come to Italy to photograph our wedding.
She is the most incredible photographer, and captures truly happy moments. The candid photographs she took are outstanding. If you are thinking of booking Maija do yourself a favor and head over to her Instagram to see the beautiful work she does. She is the perfect photographer for any type of wedding and was a wonderful destination wedding photographer. I would recommend her fully and completely - I wish we could do the whole day over again!

Absolutely Amazing!
Since my first interaction with Maija it was so clear that she really loves what she does and the couples she works with! She took the time to ask all about us, how we met, and our lives together. This was so important to me, because how can you trust someone to capture one of the most important days of your life without knowing who you are and why you’re there?! We never actually met Maija before our wedding day but felt like we knew her and felt completely comfortable immediately upon meeting her! Neither one of us have ever been particularly comfortable in front of the camera but Maija made it SO easy, and honestly, even fun! I would do it again in a heartbeat! Her photos very clearly speak for themselves. Spend just a few minutes looking and you will understand! I was immediately drawn in by the beautiful, natural, candid, and artistic shots she took, so I wasn’t even surprised by the perfection of our photos. Going through them we were immediately brought back to the magic of that day; she captured all the moments that had passed us by too quickly. The smiles and laughs are so real and she captures every emotion so beautifully!! I planned my wedding from out of state and was so nervous not being there in person. Maija’s communication and organization skills made me feel so at ease, and while I stressed about some other vendors, I had not a single worry with Maija. This women is AMAZING!!! As mother of the bride, my day was hectic, but when it came to Maija and the photos there was absolutely no stress from start to finish. She helped my daughter line out the day before hand which helped us stay on schedule with out any confusion. She had a list of photos that the bride wanted typed out and she got them all and then checked with me to make sure nothing was missed. Maija was prepared, professional, so sweet, and available to answer any questions. Maija was impressive through out the day and many of our quests couldn’t believe how she was able to blend in while catching everything. My goodness have you seen this women’s photos!!? She is top notch, and such a joy to work with. We are beginning the process of planning our next daughters wedding, and she was the first request. After all she is the best!!!

Worth every single penny…
I get it. When planning a wedding, budgeting is a real thing. There are places to cut corners; photography is not one of them. My dear friend was married last year, and I was a bridesmaid. Let me be clear; I HATE having my picture taken. I don’t like to pose, and I feel awkward in front of the camera. I never feel particularly pretty. Maija was the photographer for my girlfriend’s wedding. What I remembered was how Maija was approachable, professional, and not intrusive whatsoever (very ninja-like). She made the event fun. Now, here comes the crucial part. When I saw my girlfriend’s wedding pictures, I was blown away. Maija is a true artist. She captures moments that you don’t realize are taking place. She captures intimacies, emotions, and the environment in a way that makes you want to hang each picture because it has meaning in a moment that resonates with you on a profound level. Plus, she captures beauty in a humble and genuine way. I LOVED THESE PICTURES! All these reasons are why we chose Maija as our photographer for our wedding day. I don't even know where to begin... What Maija managed to capture in our wedding photos - the moments, the expressions, the emotions, the multi-generations of our families, and the prideful and protective Bruneau-house llama, became the most precious mementos to not only me and my husband, but to our entire family. We were moved, impressed, and in awe of her work. Maija made the experience fun and comfortable. I have opened and reopened the link to our wedding photos a hundred times and am delighted every time. My husband and I are both impressed with her attention to detail from beginning to end: from the wedding gift, to the engraved UBS stick, to her thoughtful cards. Maija was just the best. My husband and I weren't super keen on posing and taking photos, but she made everything feel so relaxed that it was easy and enjoyable! She made us laugh and put up with our families, and even got tons of photos of our dogs that we love! At one point it was so warm out that she actually fanned my dress out to cool me down! can't do much better than that! Realistically speaking, I also found her pricing incredibly reasonable for what we got out of the service. And although she gave herself 3 months to finish our photos, they were actually done even quicker! Couldn't be happier to recommend Maija to anyone who wants beautiful photos taken in a fun and relaxing environment.

Choosing a photographer for your daughter’s wedding is no small task. I was a wedding photographer myself for about 10 years, so I know all too well how important this job is! As a photographer you can imagine that I wanted to hand pick the perfect photographer for her big day. I follow several photographers in the Treasure Valley and Maija was my first pick. From the very first emails and phone conversations Maija did not disappoint. She is extremely sweet, personable, and passionate about capturing the wedding day just as you imagined it. Maija was amazing to work with. We didn't meet until our wedding day, but having seen her beautiful portfolio and talking with her regularly prior to our big day made me feel at ease. She was great with supplying needed timelines for the day and making sure that we were all on the same page with essential photos for the day.
Photography of our wedding was one of big importance to us. I see it as being the main memorabilia of our wedding. Maija's work is incredible.
I am BEYOND ECSTATIC to have the photographs that we do of our day. They are so perfect. Maija was made to be a photographer, she has such an eye for it!
On a side note, Maija captured beautiful photographs of my husband's grandmother with all of us, and just him dancing with her that are priceless now, as shortly after she was diagnosed with advanced cancer and is no longer with us.
In summary, I would ABSOLUTELY 100000000% recommend Maija to photograph your wedding. Paying slightly less is not worth it. You want to have quality and reliable work, trust me. You've got one shot at having photographs taken of your big day. Maija's photos make you feel like a movie star and put you back to the moment they were being captured. We worked with Maija for our engagement photos and our wedding and my wife and I are blown away by her work. Maija was very creative with our sessions and she was great at getting real and candid looking shots even though we are far from experienced in front of the camera. Maija really took the time to get to know us and she was great at listening and filing away small things that we would say. My wife and I put a lot of effort into doing a lot of the decorations in our wedding ourselves and Maija made sure to get really cool shots of the work that we did and she just picked that up from our conversations.
Maija was very prepared with ideas of where and what to shoot, but she was outstanding at going with the flow and getting truly natural photos. We had high winds during our pre-wedding photos and she was fantastic at making it fun and getting photos that look outstanding even if we were about to blow away.
We had a lot of fun working with Maija and we could not be happier with her and we cannot recommend her enough to anyone looking for a great photographer.

We loved having Maija shoot our wedding! I'm pretty awkward in front of a camera and she did a good job making me feel comfortable. Every time we look back at our pictures we can't help but smile - it was such a special day for us and she captured all the emotion and beauty so well. Also, our photos were almost entirely under tree cover and in dappled shade. While a less skilled photographer might have a hard time handling that weird quality of light, she ended up making everything look as magical as it was. Just look at our photos!
She's also super organized! Her planning documents really helped us start thinking about timelines, etc, and what was doable. We ended up getting a wedding coordinator about two months before the wedding and she did a wonderful job working with the wedding planner and weaving in our prior plans to make sure everything went smoothly. During the wedding she was super professional.
If we were to do it all over again, we'd pick Maija again in a heartbeat.

Maija is amazing! There are not adequate words to justly describe her talent. Choosing our wedding photographer was probably the biggest decision we made through the whole process (even more than finding the right dress). You spend almost as much time with your photographer as you do with your beloved, and these are the memories that will hang in your house for a lifetime.
Maija is wonderful to work with! She’s incredibly organized, and available whenever you need, leading up to the day, and the day of she was able to blend in seamlessly like part of the family. But those traits are just a bonus to the incredible quality of photos she takes. She has that “it” factor! She sees things in a way others don’t, and manages to capture light in a way that can’t be taught.

Maija and her second photographer did such an amazing job on our wedding photos. They felt like there were supposed to be a guest at our wedding and not someone we paid to be there. Since, we had a destination wedding we talked through Skype and phone conversations. From the beginning, Maija was caring and made me feel at ease as a bride. Throughout the planning months she checked in with us to make sure we were following our timeline and also sent us a sweet gift. The minute we met, we felt like we had known her forever. My wife and I recently used Maija for our wedding day and were extremely happy with the whole process!! We didn't have a wedding planner and to be honest we were probably a little unorganized until we started working with her. She did such a wonderful job with keeping everything moving and keeping it light and fun for our whole bridal party. Did I mention that our party was 22 people!! Yes 22, and Maija took some fantastic pictures with all of us and used her creativity to shoot some really amazing shots of the whole party. The wedding itself had over 350 guests and she was able to capture a photo on the church steps of the whole congregation on the way out. It was a really unique shot that I haven't seen done at to many weddings. Another thing that we really loved about the pictures is that she did a great job of getting photos of almost all of the guests at the reception. A lot of our guests traveled from all over and are people we don't get to see all of the time, so this was really special to us. Overall we were extremely happy with the final product and had a great time working with her. Thanks for making our day so special Maija!!

Maija Karen Photography – No words can express how perfect she made our wedding!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH hahahahahahha I scream with honest excitement every time I think about it. Pictures are EVERYTHING to me! What she doesn’t know is that we had a photographer and I came across some of her pictures online. I decided why not call. Instant LOVE! She had to be ours! The next time chatting, with of course wine, I was even more excited. Words cannot begin to describe the personal and emotional connection we made. Just look at our wedding photos! Everyone talks about how magical our wedding was and how our photographer truly was able to capture it. My Mom told me it was like we were best friends for years! She can up with photos and captured details that I have seen no other photographer do (I work for a wedding planner as a side job).
Her added touches are so special. She truly puts her heart and soul into what she does. She is beyond the total package. I don’t just say these things, I truly mean them. We all fell in love with her and her work. When you get married it is a blur and to be able to look back at pictures and truly relieve it all because of the photos, is more than I thought would ever happen. She captured our love, our emotion, my craziness and my baby girl Bella (My dog) perfectly. She took the things and people we love and made a breathtaking story for us. Going into the session, my husband had just fractured his collar bone and I had a broken zipper on my dress, and we wanted to take pictures in the freezing snow. Maija handled it all like a true professional. She made us relax and laugh and positioned us in all sorts of angles. When we received the pictures, they took our breath away! You would never know that we had had any issues. And the snowy backgrounds that she chose and drove us to were gorgeous! Maija photographed our infant son four times between birth and one year. She was fantastic! Not only were the photos beautiful, but she was so easy to work with. As you can probably tell from her portfolio, Maija is not into props, just stunning photographs of your baby. And even if your baby isn't cooperating, Maija is able to capture great moments. As a new mom, I can't tell you how much we appreciated her flexibility with our schedule and last-minute changes due to a runny nose. Maija was incredible for our wedding. She not only helped us get organized prior to the big day, but also made sure to capture every moment of our special day! She was fun and easy to work with. Her photos were AMAZING, with a great mixture of fun/silly/serious/romantic photos. She was super flexible and artistic with each photograph. Where do I begin?!
Maija did an amazing job capturing every aspect of our wedding day. I can't stop looking at all of the pictures! She arrived on time and stayed for our whole wedding day. She was so friendly and I am still receiving compliments on how great our wedding photos look. I would definitely recommend Maija if you are looking for a fun, creative and unique photographer!

Maija was amazing my husband and I were really nervous because in our opinions we have never been photogenic but we really wanted professional pictures for the wedding so we hoped we could get at least 1 good picture of us. Maija came and started taking pictures she had us doing things to help us relax and enjoy taking the pictures, if there was something she thought we were doing wrong she gave us good instruction on how to improve, and we loved our pictures. All of them. We were impressed because we had attended a wedding a two weeks before and the photographers were late everyone was trying to get a hold of them and no one knew where they were. Maija showed up early and was ready to have us get in a group to take pictures. The reason we chose Maija was because she has a talent with group shots and we loved how they looked but I found that she does really good shots with just the couple too. I would get Maija for every wedding in my family because she is professional, gives great instruction, takes good photos and is worth every penny.

Maija and her secondary photographer did a phenomenal job with our wedding photos! We knew the day itself would be a blur, so the memories captured in photograph were SO important to us when we booked Maija. Aside from doing a fabulous job at providing us with a variety of photos that captured us and our wedding day, Maija and her colleague dissolved into the background when events were happening and were enormous fun when we were taking individual and family photos. She even got a couple highlights to us early because we took "thank you" shots at the reception. Highly recommended, and well worth the money! My only disappointment is that we don't live in the area to hire her in the future! ;)

Maija was an absolutely wonderful photographer! She was so easy to work with and very responsive when I had any questions leading up to my wedding day. On the morning of my wedding, her assistant photographer was late because she was feeling ill and Maija really stepped up her game. She said it was the very first time she had ever had her assistant not show, but she did such a good job of walking back and forth between the bridal party and grooms party during the prep time. Looking at the final pictures I couldn’t even tell that she was missing her assistant! (Her assistant did eventually show up later in the day.) During the wedding, Maija was so helpful and patient. She reminded me throughout the wedding day of certain photos I wanted to take off my shot list and she pulled my husband and me aside when necessary. She took such beautiful, extensive shots and yet wasn't at all invasive during the ceremony and reception. She was also appropriately assertive on the dance floor, so she could capture every important moment! I absolutely love the final results – my wedding photography is absolutely breathtaking and I can’t wait to get some of them printed out to put on my wall! The hard part now is choosing which ones because they are all so gorgeous! I’m also very much looking forward to receiving the coffee table wedding book Maija is making for us. If her previous work is of any indication, the book will be phenomenal! Thanks Maija for capturing our special day so we can remember it forever!

Enlisting Maija to take my bridal photos was one of my greatest victories while planning my wedding. She was easy to get a hold of during the entire process, made us feel comfortable immediately, and did a stellar job at capturing beautiful, natural, timeless photos. She was an absolute joy to work with, very professional, and had us laughing and smiling the whole time. We used Maija Karin Photographer for our wedding at Mountain Springs Lodge in Febary 2015. We really enjoyed working with Maija. She did a great job of quickly making us feel comfortable and coaching us to ensure we got great pictures. Our wedding photos turned out so beautiful! We love them and have received so many compliments from our family and friends.
When planning our wedding, Maija was a little more expensive than other photographers we looked into. But we loved her photos and I knew photography was where I was willing to splurge. In addition, we very much envisioned a winter wedding. However, when we arrived at Mountain Springs Lodge, there was no snow in sight. I was so thankful I spent a little more and choose Maija. It gave me the peace of mind that even without snow, we had a very experienced photographer who could still take beautiful photos even if early spring isn’t the prettiest time of year.
We were very happy to have Maija as our photographer. I highly recommend her and would very much like to find an excuse to have her take photos of us again.

Working with Maija was great. I would definitely recommend her.
1) She was unobtrusive during the wedding, but still got great pictures.
2) The time we spent with her before the wedding was very happy for my wife and I - we decided to take pictures of us and our family, which is a delicate position for someone who doesn't know you or your family very well, but she handled it well and the time felt very special for us.
3) I was looking for a photographer with more of a photojournalist style (ie, not a ton of filters/etc... We didn't ), and Maija was great at that, but she also took some artistic, creative shots.
4) She delivered the photos a month after our wedding with zero prodding/reminders from us. (I have heard horror stories about this)
5) We had limited discussions with her since we live pretty far away from Maija, but it didn't matter - she knew exactly what to ask in order to plan well.
Overall, she was a professional, but also warm and friendly to hang out with on a great day for my wife and I.

We are so glad that we chose Maija to be our wedding photographer! In planning our wedding, my husband and I both agreed that our photos were of paramount importance. We wanted someone with an artistic eye, but that would capture us vividly and timelessly, all while being a pleasure to interact with. Maija was all that and more!
Our engagement session introduced us to Maija's easy-going demeanor, professionalism and adventurous spirit. We immediately relaxed and felt at complete ease with her. We were sincerely excited to have her join us on our wedding day! The big day was equally fabulous, with Maija spending hours seamlessly slipping through both sides of the wedding party, the ceremony and reception to capture perfect portraits, emotion-filled candids, and stunning detail shots. Maija trekked all over our farm-like venue with us, and made us all laugh, relax, and feel totally cared for throughout. We have received so many compliments on our wedding photos, and they are everything we could have wished for (and more!) We were lucky to have our wedding in July of 2013, and Maija made the whole process easy and stress-free! From the initial contract to the final product, everything is straight forward and professional. Maija photographed our wedding in central WA 2 months ago. WE LOVED HER!!! She was super easy to work with leading up to the wedding - she was very professional and responsive to my calls/e-mails. She was also very familiar with our wedding site and had great ideas about where to take pictures, how the lighting would look, etc. I loved that I didn't feel her presence during the ceremony or reception (ie, she wasn't following our every move or in our faces with her cameras), yet when we got our pictures she had great photos from the whole night. We have gotten lots of compliments about our photos, so I would definitely recommend Maija!

We hired Maija to do two events: a small wedding in a tiny town in Idaho and a larger city-style reception in Seattle. She traveled to both and was able to capture beautiful moments at the two (completely opposite) events.
My cousin used Maija for their wedding photography, which is how we found her. The piece that really sold me was her amazing use of lighting. She is extremely talented and has such a creative eye. Sure enough, our photos turned out amazing. She was able to quickly look around the venue/grounds and identify locations that would make for great photo backgrounds.
After the ceremony, Maija was able to blend into the crowd - capturing moments throughout the evening without being up in your face. And if you wanted her, she was quick to respond.
I wish Maija lived in Seattle because I would hire her more often! Or at least have coffee with her, since I can already tell that she is a genuine person that would be really fun to get to know even better!

Maija was such a pleasure to have as our photographer... not only did our pictures turn out absolutely phenomenal, but she has such an amazing passion about her work and makes you feel incredibly comfortable during such a busy day! It's one thing to have any photographer come shoot great photos of your wedding, but Maija went above and beyond to make it seem the most important job she's done - we felt we were given the royal treatment! I highly recommend Maija - a delightful person with an incredible talent.

I would recommend Maija to anyone interested in beautiful portraits that show your personality and the character of the environment around you. Maija is able to portray who you are in her photos. I am not an easy person to photograph, I close my eyes and turn awkwardly and do not usually like to share photos of myself because it never looks like how I see myself. Maija works magic in this area and I loved most every picture of myself and everyone else. My younger son does not like being photographed and she was able to get some impromptu shots of him in his element despite his best attempts to avoid it. She is very experienced, able to navigate numerous people in different areas efficiently and you end up with a great photo representation of you and your family and friends that is reflective of who you are. I had difficulty choosing photos to print because I loved so many. Highly recommended.

Maija did such an amazing job with our engagement and wedding photos! She is so easy going and was a gem to work with. Getting our engagement photos done was a little bit awkward at first because you are basically making out in front of a stranger but she made it so easy to be comfortable and just laugh it out :) Her photos are breathtaking and she definitely has an eye for catching the light at perfect moments. We will forever cherish our photos and we will definitely be going back to her for any future family photo sessions. I HIGHLY recommend her!!!

Stillwater Hollow January Wedding
We got married in January 2023, at Stillwater Hollow in Nampa Idaho. Maija was wonderful to work with from start to finish! The engagement photo session near Bogus was a great first interaction, and she took great care all through the wedding process. Maija's shot placement, and editing is first class. We had an awesome variety of weather on the wedding day, fog, sun, and full moon rise over the Boise mountains, and she was able to capture it all. We also got our pics back in a timely manner for another reception, and we have nothing but good things to say about our experience. Thanks Maija!

Maija was such a wonderful photographer! She made our day even more special! She was extremely professional, but we also felt like we had known her for a long time too! She gave me the sweetest little gift bag for the day of the wedding with all the necessary items that I might have needed. She stayed an hour extra (for a fee) as we were not quite finished with the cake cutting. Overall, she was amazing- highly recommended. (Ps. we got married in Sun Valley, Idaho in the beginning of September- it was overcast and a little rainy but the photos turned out so beautifully! )

Maija was so great! She worked around our busy schedule and booked only a couple days before and on a holiday weekend! This was the first time my fiancé and I were getting pictures taken professionally and Maija made us feel super comfortable in front of a camera! She took a variety of shots with different lens and returned the photos in a very timely manner. She was pretty reasonable in pricing compared to others in the area, and for us as college student she worked with us. We love how she gave us our own webpage where we can see all the photos and download our favs. Definitely would recommend. Everyone that we have showed has loved the quality!

Maija is just an absolute gem! Wedding planning can often be incredibly stressful, especially when you've been planning for months and everything culminates on one big day...including meeting many of your vendors in person for the first time. From the first moment we met Maija onsite we were struck by her authenticity, warmth, humor and professionalism. Her depth and breadth of experience just shined through the entire day -- from the first look photos all the way through the last dance of the evening. She was quietly and confidently capturing all of our beautiful memories. Both Mark and I were a bit nervous to see our photos because neither of us like to be in front of the camera (especially me!). When we received the photos and started to go through the galleries there was a collective moment where we just looked at each other and started laughing...the photos were so stunning it looked like a Hollywood set. We looked so relaxed and Maija captured our joy and happiness...perfectly. Now every time someone asks us about the wedding my first response is....'Oh! Let me show you the gorgeous photos!!'

Maija was fun and easy to work with as we planned our wedding! We were very happy with the variety of photographs she took at different points of the day in a variety of settings - outdoor family photos at our house, ceremony photos during the church service, and couple/celebration photos outdoors and indoors at our reception venue. She was also very flexible in working with the videographer we had hired and kept the atmosphere light and easygoing.

We used Maija as our photographer for our wedding last weekend. She worked with us and our wedding coordinator on our timeline, ensuring that we would have plenty of time to get all the family photos done in time for the ceremony, and then making sure we had all the ceremony events captured.
She was really helpful in choosing cool and unique locations for our bride/groom pictures, she definitely has a good eye for picking spots you wouldn't think of! During our shoot, she was willing to coach us as much or as little as we wanted or needed, and was calm and helpful in directing us into poses and angles. She made us feel comfortable and was spontaneous with capturing natural moments between us. She was also flexible with changes in weather and locations. We have a fairly big family, and Maija ensured we had all the groupings we needed and that all family members were represented and welcome.
I saw some early sneak-peeks of our pictures and was blown away! I cannot wait to see how everything turns out. I would definitely recommend Maija to a friend.
