    Maya was absolutely AMAZING! Her time, dedication, and attention to detail were superior. She researched and provided unique location suggestions for the engagement shoot, and was extremely patient with our large wedding party on our big day. Maya didn't hold back when sessions weren't going as well as she thought they should and we appreciated her honesty. She also stepped in and assisted other vendors to make sure my husband and I had everything we needed and were well taken care of. I can honestly say she went above and beyond the call of duty for a "photographer". I look forward to working with her on many more occassions.

    Maya is a TRUE artist! She has the perfect vision for taking photos - not the normal cookie cutter stuff most wedding photographers use. She also helped to move my other vendors along so that things went proficiently. She is truly working her gift!

    Maya was awesome! From the first consultation to the actual photoshoot, she was attentive, very personable and made us feel extremely comfortable. Maya made it a point to really get to know our personalities to create the best pictures and poses that embodied us.

    We did a shoot in various locations around the Washington DC which was amazing, since a lot of photographers like to keep you holed up in a studio with manufactured backgrounds. You can tell that Maya takes great pride in her work and will do anything in her power to produce a good set of photos--she can also find a photographic momoent in anything and manages to think on the fly so well that whatever picture she snaps is golden. My husband and I are already checking our calendars for a date to book her for family poetry.

    Maya and her staff are AMAZING. From the first day we met Maya she made us comfortable and wanted to know our STORY. She captured every moment during our engagement pictures and wedding. Maya has a creative mind like NO OTHER. She was better than we ever could have expected and we will be using her as our personal photographer for all of our life moments.
    Her responsiveness was off the charts and she was extremely flexible. She made suggestions with our best interest in mind that made our photographs TIMELESS and CLASSIC. She is extremely personable and can deal with various personalities which is great considering the types of personality family and friends have on the day of a wedding.

    I was referred to Maya of MAD Works Photography by a high school buddy of mine who knew we were looking for a wedding photographer. I went to her website and saw that she had shot numerous high profile celebrities and some of my friends, so I was automatically impressed. To test out her abilities prior to our wedding, I set up a trial photo shoot with her a couple months after we got engaged. She was professional, but not rigid, and open to my ideas. I'm no model, but she made me feel comfortable and gave me pointers on what she felt looked good. She worked with less than ideal circumstances and turned around an exquisite set of photos several days later. Once we saw what Maya was capable of first-hand, we instantly decided to hire her.

    Our engagement photo session (picnic in the park) was temporarily sidelined by less than ideal levels of sunlight and threats of rainfall. Once again, Maya was up for the challenge. Her warm personality kept our spirits up while we waited for the sunlight to return. All of our photos came out very vibrant and reflected all that we hoped they would. Once again- turnaround was impeccable.

    Fast forward to the wedding. Maya and her assistant did an amazing job of capturing the most special parts of the day as well as the equally important candid shots. We had to beat the sunset to get the best possible pictures, and our photographers took the initiative to instruct our driver on where to locate the perfect setting for our photos. Our wedding party was instructed to "give some sass" and to have fun with the session at the reception. Maya and her assistant were once again not afraid to get in the moment and have fun with us- they know how to keep things professional while being organic.

    All in all, my wife and I are extremely pleased with MAD Works Photography and the work they've done with us over the past year and a half, and we're looking for another excuse to contact them with a new inquiry!

    From the very first time we met, at the consultation, we had an incredible experience working with Maya Darasaw. She had an energy that was so contagious and a passion for her craft that was almost tangible. She exuded genuineness, humility, creativity, and excitement. Her personality drew us in, and her work sealed the deal. As invested as Maya is in her product, she's equally invested in her clients. She wanted to know how we fell in love, what we like to do together, and what our favorite songs are. Before she thought about camera lenses, angles, and poses, she thought about US. To us, it seemed that her creative ideas as a photographer stemmed from her understanding of us as a couple.

    Maya operated professionally throughout the process. She maintained consistent contact with us, discussing timelines and creative ideas, and updating us on any challenges or opportunities that arose. Working with Maya was a great collaborative effort. Maya established an incredible balance of being both a leader and a listener in the process. In terms of actual shoots, she was more than willing to take the lead and direct us when we weren't sure what to do. At the same time, she welcomed any ideas or feedback we had. Ultimately, Maya wants her pictures to be topnotch and her clients to be completely satisfied, and she does both very well.

    Maya also goes the extra mile for her clients. She visits locations and surrounding locations ahead of time in order to maximize the photography on a shoot day. She'll show up early and leave late. After our wedding was over and the guests were long gone, Maya offered to sneak off with the newlyweds to find additional spots to get some last-minute shots. Even though she was "off the clock," and we had let her know that she was more than welcome to head home, she still offered to ride around with us to get more shots. Also, when it came to editing our slideshows and selecting the background music, Maya approached the tasks thoughtfully and thoroughly, carefully selecting the perfect songs to set the mood for the presentation. The packaging of her products, the CDs and DVDs, was always done with quality materials and a professional, classy look. In addition, if Maya ever ran into technical difficulties that delayed the delivery of her work, she never left us hanging. After computer issues unexpectedly delayed our wedding pictures, Maya took one of our favorite pictures from our wedding day, blew it up, framed it, and delivered it personally to us as an apology and an appreciation for our patience. The bottom line: Maya Darasaw is a genuine, passionate, imaginative, dedicated, and gifted person, and those qualities are reflected in her professional work as well. Her personality, professionalism, and photography all reflect beauty. MAD Works Photography is a brand you can trust.

    Dominic and I met Maya the end of last summer. She's very passionate about her art and we see why... She did our engagement and wedding photos and the photos came out absolutely amazing!

    My husband is not a big fan of taking pics, but Maya gave him a few tips during our engagement session and he loosened up. Even on a rainy gloomy gray day, Maya made our photos stand out beautifully. She works silently. Standing over 20 feet away, she let Dominic and I just adore one another and laugh with each other and she captured a few of our most remarkable engagement photos.

    Our wedding photos were delivered on a USB with a case that I've never imagined nor seen before. Receiving over a thousand photos, Maya took amazing shots on our wedding day.

    She has a true professional eye for lighting, angles and fierce poses.

    I worked with MAD Works Photography for my engagement shoot and recent wedding photos. Maya is extremely flexible (our engagement shoot was rained out three times!), has a unique, edgy, artistic eye and most important of all, has created the most GORGEOUS photos for us to commemorate this special time in our lives.
