Marcus is an absolute delight to have around! He made this process of planning the wedding a breeze! He took his time to make sure we got the kinds of photos and locations we wanted while making us laugh, and feel comfortable. He does a very good job communicating as well. I have recommend him to everyone I know! -

Marcus was the perfect photographer for our special day. He was incredibly professional, communicative, punctual, and has a great personality. He’s also a perfectionist so, safe to say, all of our pictures came out perfect. His timeline breakdown really made our day go smoothly and he really worked with us on what pictures needed to spend more/less time on. We 100% recommend his services for any wedding or event. -

We had the pleasure of working with Marcus and we couldn’t be happier with our choice! From the very beginning, Marcus was a joy to work with—so fun, approachable, and professional. He made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera, and his positive energy was infectious. Our families absolutely loved him, and he blended effortlessly into the day, capturing both the big moments and the small, intimate ones that we’ll cherish forever. Talk about a memorable experience for 2023! Your engagement session was so much fun, it was hard to actually do what I was there to do which is take photos not laugh! Fast-forward to your wedding and we dodged a hurricane, had fire pit private vowels, and capped it off with ice cream!

We loved our experience with Marcus and M.Carter Photography! I was initially drawn to Marcus' ability to capture the authentic nature of events and emotions throughout the wedding day. And we received just that for our wedding day! We used Marcus for both our engagement shoot and wedding day. Marcus is professional, communicative, and you really get the feeling that he cares about giving his clients the best experience and photos based on what you want. He has great wedding packages, including offering more time on site than other competitors. Also, we received our wedding photos and "highlight" photos quicker than mostly everyone else in the business would have done. We would highly recommend!M. Carter Photography's reply:

I call your engagement session the adventure! You picked such a unique location and mother nature and father technology tried to hold us down.....BUT WE PREVAILED! You both were such troopers as we raced the rain and fog to capture dreamy engagement photos almost 100% candid!
Now your wedding...you gave me such an amazing gift. You let me return to Whistling Wren Farm for a second time to capture your special day. When we add on the amazing BBQ, caricature artist, and happy-energy, you get a perfect wedding to be part of!

Absolutely amazing
Marcus was great! He was professional, fast, responsive, and the photos were amazing! He spent time helping us get organized ahead with numerous phone calls for planning and time lines. He was able to get every shot we needed in a very limited time plus some! Photos were so amazing we had numerous friends and family ask for his contact info! Even photos completely candid looked beyond what we could ask for! -

Perfect wedding photos!
Marcus was an absolute pleasure to work with! He is very detailed oriented and helped me formulate a timeline for day of our wedding as I didn’t know where to start! He made me feel comfortable from our first call and I knew right away I wanted to work with him.

Fast and efficient

Everything about working with Marcus is LOVELY — from the first phone call, to our engagement photos, to our elopement photos. I was initially anxious about hiring a photographer, especially since (1) I had no idea where to start and (2) we were eloping so these were going to be *the* thing to mark the day. He was my first phone call and within 5 minutes of talking to him I was sold. I only had two broad (vague) ideas for what I wanted and he took them and turned them into plans I could be excited about.
Ultimately, our engagement photos involved a last minute location change and our elopement photos ended up needing a schedule change. Marcus was nothing but responsive and encouraging through everything. He was ready with new ideas and managed to keep me excited when I'd have otherwise been really stressed. I’m not sure anyone else would have been so flexible while also staying so warm and kind.
And of course, the photos are gorgeous. He manages to talk to you and make you laugh and feel like you’re just hanging out while also capturing a thousand (literally) photos. The last time my husband or I had professional photos taken we were probably in high school, but Marcus was a pro at making us feel comfortable. His eye is great and he sees things we’d have never thought of, to beautiful results. I’ve already told my husband when we need photos for anything in the future, we’re calling Marcus.
12/10 recommend. Giving him glowing reviews is going to be my new hobby, and if you work with him it’ll be yours too.M. Carter Photography's reply:

I had the opportunity to work with Marcus at a wedding in October, and I had a great experience!! As a wedding planner, I could notice he was prepared, organized, and very professional! He knew the time needed to capture the first look, the bridal party, and other important shots requested by the bride. During the wedding, everything went great with the photos plan, and the results were amazing!!! His style is unique and special! Great photographer!!

Choosing the right photographer for your wedding is one of the most important decisions you will make in the planning process – after all, the wedding photos are going to be your lasting keepsake!
Marcus was the PERFECT choice for capturing the spirit and beauty of our wedding day! Everyone who has seen my photos has been totally blown away by the quality of his work.
Not only that, but working with Marcus was truly wonderful. He’s incredibly kind and professional, and he made me feel like I was in good hands from day one. I had a few shots that I knew I wanted to get and not only was he receptive to my ideas, he also suggested a lot of shots I would have never thought about (and loved!).
Working with Marcus on the actual day of our wedding was basically just like hanging out with a friend who happened to be a world-class photographer. He was a special talent for making people feel comfortable in front of the camera with his gentle demeanor and easy laughter.

Marcus is the epitome of what you want in a photographer: professional, creative, understanding, and most importantly a fantastic listener. Marcus was able to capture our special moment despite the logistics being a bit complicated, and our needs being a bit specific. During the moment and in the shoot after, Marcus brought his vision (respectfully) and was really able to bring out the best in us.
