  Lydia Chen took our engagement photos and we were blown away by her unique talent and vision. She made us feel totally at ease and took shots that we fell in love with and used throughout the wedding process. Case in point: we'd planned on a fairly simple typographic "save the date," but when we saw the pictures from the shoot we redesigned it around them because they were so exceptional. Not only were the photos technically stunning (everyone we showed them to were wowed, and several asked for her info), they really captured who we are as a couple. When it came time to select a photographer for the wedding day we knew we wanted her. Even though there were some tough conditions (cold weather! behind schedule! family members running amok!), she was a total pro and got beautiful shots of the ceremony and reception. Looking at her photos brings back all of the amazing moments and emotions from the day -- we're so glad she was a part of it. Highly recommended!

  Lydia focuses on the profound moments that are happening when no one is watching; she gets so many beautiful photos of the wedding party and guests just being and just enjoying. I LOVED that! She worked efficiently to get the traditional posed photos, and I never felt like we were wasting time or going through a "photo shoot". Lydia managed to get wonderful photographs of my mother, who goes out of her way to avoid being photographed!
  
  If you are looking for a photographer who will create fine art for you, is conscientious, and takes your happiness to heart, engage Lydia's services. I only wish that my husband and I had hired her for an engagement package, too!

  Lydia was really easy to work with, and all our friends and family loved having her around. Our photos turned out so great--they felt natural and unposed, a lot of wonderful candid moments. I'd hire Lydia again and recommend her to others!

  We hired Lydia for our wedding photos and she was very professional. She did a great job during the entire process. She started off being very thorough in answering our questions. She was always prompt to respond to our emails. So, we never felt like she was MIA. She coordinated with us before the wedding and throughout the day. She did a great job taking all the shots. We loved her pictures. Even afterwards, she did a good job on uploading the pictures onto the gallery. (It was more us who were dragging our feet to look over 800 pics and choose 50!) Everything went very smoothly with Lydia.
  
  The only thing I would suggest would be for you to ask to see a sample of the photo book (the finished product). Or even just a picture. Ours came out a bit below our expectations. I love that Lydia is green and chose to use a vendor who used green materials, however the end product wasn't as glamorous or elegant as I would have hoped. The covers were a bit sticky and the pages were thin. HOWEVER, we got the digital negatives of our pictures, so we could always reprint them with the vendor of our choice.
  
  All in all, I would highly recommend Lydia. I would just communicate with her ahead of time regarding the final photo book. Maybe she would be able to use a different vendor or give you some choices. Either way, you have the final pictures and that's what ultimately matters!
