Great experience- Dream Wedding
My sister was married this August! In her wedding everything was great! The food was so tasty, the music band was incredible! The luxury wedding in crete team helped us in everything we needed! My sister has a farytale wedding in a seaview romantic location during the sunset! I confess that i am a little bit jealous! For sure, i will hire this guys for my wedding! -

Castle wedding
Antony and I actually chose our wedding venue before finding our wedding planner Vasiliki of Luxury Weddings. I am a historian and Anthony is an architect and getting married in a venue with some historical significance was an added bonus to us. Antony and I got engaged 3 years ago, he dropped down on one knee outside the Fortezza, a Venetian fortress in Rethymnon, Crete. We had talked about the possibility of getting married in Crete and luckily came across Luxury Weddings. We saw that they hosted weddings in various venues in Crete and fell in love with the pictures they sent us of Fraggokastelo, a Venetian castle on the South Coast of Crete. Vasiliki arranged for us to have a viewing of the site over Skype as we could not be in Crete until a week before our wedding and we were blown away by the beauty of the place. Over the months leading up to our wedding day we had countless Skype meetings and I appreciated that Vasiliki was always open to creative ideas to personalize our day and make it special to us.
When we actually saw Fraggokastelo, a week before our wedding we were astounded by its natural beauty. Luxury wedding set us up along with our family and guests in a luxury hotel on the South coast so we could enjoy the stunning landscape and be close to the wedding venue. The hotel staff was attentive and kind and we were so pleased with our choice.
What sets Vasiliki and the staff of Luxury Weddings apart from other wedding planners in a nutshell are their exceptional organizational skills, their vast experience in the hospitality industry and their effective communication skills. We were able to enjoy the experience and have a wedding day with little to worry about because Vasiliki was always next to us, making sure everything was running as it should.
If we had any tips to give to couple getting married abroad for the first time it would be to listen to your wedding planners as they have the knowledge and experience of what works well. We highly recommend Vasiliki of Luxury Weddings and thank them for supporting us every step of the way to getting married.

You could be thinking, what would possess an already married couple approaching their 50’s to hire wedding planners, get fancied up and renew their wedding vows in front of several dozen of their closest friends? The truth is John and I didn’t have much cash to throw around when we got married in our twenties. He rented a tux, I bought a second hand vintage frock and we had a brief registry office ceremony on a weekday with a few family members.
Twenty years later, with a bit of money saved and some help from Luxury Weddings in Crete by Vasiliki, John and I got to combine our vow renewal with a holiday in Crete and get a bit of the glamour and glitz that we had missed out on while celebrating our love the first time around.
We are big wine lovers and love the outdoors, so when Vasiliki offered a Cretan vineyard to us as a potential venue we were taken with the idea straight away. Our family has grown somewhat over the years and we wanted a big enough space in nature where everyone could show up and simply have a good time. The vineyard itself was a beauty of nature so we decided to keep it simple and Eleni and Vasiliki added some simple yet tasteful touches to the area. Some gardenias on the tables, tea lights and lanterns, are all that the place needed to light up. One of my favourite décor touches by Luxury Weddings… the desert and cocktails tables made from old rustic wine barrels, fantastic idea from Vasiliki. The caterers prepared a variety of high quality Mediterranean dishes all paired well with the different wines produced from the vineyard. John and I exchanged our vows in the natural evening light in front of our family and friends.
I hold these memories close to my heart as I do the care, effort and energy I saw Eleni, Vasiliki and the staff at Luxury Weddings in Crete put into our special day. Luxury Weddings has raised the bar for Cretan hospitality.

Approachable, warm and diligent, these are the three words that come to mind when I think about my wedding planner, Vasiliki. Having spent several summers island hopping around Greece with my fiancé, we had decided that Crete would be an incredibly romantic destination for us to tie the knot in. Crete has always held a special place in our hearts.
However, organizing an overseas wedding ourselves seemed like a big challenge. After many late nights trawling the internet for wedding planners we came across Luxury Weddings in Crete by Vasiliki and were soon provided with exactly the right support to create our fairy tale wedding in Crete.
From the first point of contact till the day after our marriage, Vasiliki and her team took care of every single detail and met every request my fiancé and I made, while at the same time sticking to our budget. A lot of the planning in the early days took place on Skype and we were able to ask questions, make decisions and changes at any point. This meant that we actually had time to enjoy the process and each other leading up to our big day. Vasiliki helped us decide on a wedding style that would incorporate both mine and my fiancés tastes and we decided to have a symbolic wedding to celebrate our love.
Luxury Weddings gave us a huge range of venues and we decided that Kalypso Cretan Village Resort would be the best venue for us beach lovers .The resort is absolutely beautiful, has a small private beach area, a spa and restaurants, so our family members and friends were able to stay with us and enjoy a bit of a different setting to our closest beach to Taunton.
Having a symbolic wedding meant that we could design a wedding especially for us and narrowing down the theme, style and content was a huge task that we simply could not have done without our wedding planners. Vasiliki were quick to assemble a team of professionals including photographers, caterers, florists and musicians, who, between them, took care of every aspect of our wedding day. Everything ran smoothly on the day, our guests gathered on the beach and watched us exchange our vows in front of the sea. Luxury team had set up white canopies so everyone would have enough shade and we had a violinist playing music as we entered the area. We had our reception in the hotel due to windy weather ( Vasiliki always made sure to have a back-up plan) and the caterers used fresh local ingredients to create a range of traditional dishes that we knew our family members and guests would enjoy.
I cannot imagine the process of organizing an overseas wedding without Vasiliki’s help and am eternally grateful to them and their staff for their huge support, their eye for detail and planning, and their attentiveness throughout our wedding journey. We would have been lost without them and highly recommend them to anyone considering Crete to be their magical wedding destination.

My one month wedding anniversary is coming up next week and with it, a lot of special memories of my wedding in Crete are too. First and foremost, I want to thank Vasiliki, my wedding planner, for putting their hearts and souls into mine and Steve’s wedding and for taking such good care of us. We had thousands of questions that were answered, and, like all brides, stressful moments in which they came to the rescue. Looking back now, I am very grateful I came across their company Luxury Weddings, as they have the experience to know what works and what doesn’t as well as a great eye for detail.
Steve and I wanted to have a civil wedding ceremony and Luxury Weddings guided us through the formalities making sure that all of our documentation was in order way in advance. We flew out to Crete about a week before our wedding and Luxury Weddings put us up in Kalypso Cretan Village Resort, a stunning hotel on the South Coast of Crete. It could not have been more romantic and the hotel staff went out of their way for us. We were able to have all of our guests and family members stay with us at the resort, many of whom had young kids that were thrilled to bits with the incredible beaches around them. It couldn’t have been a better setting for everyone.
We had our wedding ceremony in a nearby city hall with all of our family and friends present. Everything had been thought through carefully by Vasiliki and her team and we felt safe in their hands, knowing that they were by our side guiding us through each stage. The resort’s reception hall was laid out and decorated in blues and whites and looked absolutely stunning. Steve is an even bigger foodie than myself and we were pleased as punch with our wedding feast and cocktail party, all locally sourced by the catering staff, the homemade village wines were divine, the cheese platters and dishes like the traditional braised lamb they served us have stayed in my mind ever since.
I wish Steve and I could do it all over again because it was such a beautiful and special day thanks to Luxury Weddings .The team photographers were exceptional and gave us some stunning pieces for our wedding album both from the city hall and our reception at the resort as well as video footage of the whole day.
Vasiliki gave us the wedding of our dreams, were next to us each step of the way and we were lucky to have heard about them. Thanks to them we are celebrating our 1 month anniversary next week, wish we could it in Crete! -

Lisa Sent on 05/22/2021A fairytale Greek Orthodox wedding
We arrived at our wedding destination in Crete a couple of weeks before our wedding in order to finalise our preparations with Luxury Weddings in Crete by Vasiliki. I am British and my husband is of Greek origin and it was important for us to have our families and close friends meet before our wedding day. We had several meetings with Vasiliki and her wedding team, to arrange the finishing touches. A church rehearsal later followed by a menu tasting, make-up and hair styling appointments and we were all set to go. Had the majority of the leg work not have been done in advance by the team at Luxury Weddings before we arrived, this week would have been much harder. Our fantastic wedding planners had sorted through all the documentation needed, organised the church ceremony, the reception venue and everything else needed in order for us to feel at ease before our wedding day.
Vasiliki organised a welcome cocktail party the night before our wedding for our family and guests to mingle and this was just what was needed to ease everyone into the wedding spirit. Kalypso Cretan Village Resort, where we had the welcoming party and where we were staying with our guests, is a fantastic place to stay if you want to have guests of all ages entertained while you are on wedding duty! Their restaurant has delicious food, local wines and every cocktail under the sun. Our family and friends really enjoyed the pre-wedding cocktail party and before we knew it, the next day, my husband and I were standing in a Greek Orthodox Church in Plakias, by the sea, before a priest and our guests, saying I do. Tirelessly, Eleni and Vasiliki organised transportation back and forth from the resort to the church for all of our guests and guided us through our wedding church ceremony step by step.
The wedding reception was a huge success. Luxury Weddings had organised a local band to play Greek music for us and also a DJ to play other music of our choice. What stands out about Vasiliki is that she really listen to your wants and needs and she did a tremendous job creating our wedding vision. She clearly have the experience and the connections to be able to organise weddings like ours. A big thank you to Vasiliki and the entire team at Luxury Wedding’s in Crete by Vasiliki for creating the perfect environment for our families to come together. They all still talk about their holiday with us and how much they loved our wedding day. We have already and will continue to recommend you to our friends who want to get married in Crete.
