A beautiful soundtrack for a beautiful day!

They played all the songs we asked for beautifully!!! They were very professional and adapted to having to play inside because of the rain!! I cried while walking down the aisle!

Wonderful accompaniment to our fundraising Gala for Maggie's Mission

Luminous Sounds played at our non-profit - Maggie's Mission Angelversary Gala held at the Vanderbilt Museum in June of 2022. They did an amazing job and their music selection matched our event perfectly. We really appreciated their donation of time and talent to elevate our event. Thank you Luminous Sounds!

Amazing quartet

Luminous Sounds provided music for our ceremony and cocktail hour and they were a highlight of our night. They helped set the overall tone of the wedding and did an incredible job weaving classical and modern songs based on the direction we provided. Kimberly was very responsive and easy to work with throughout the planning process. We received so many compliments about them and are so happy we hired Luminous Sounds!

Incredible!

Kimberly and her team at Luminous Sounds are incredible! From the start of our communication she took the time to understand our venue, our guests, and our vision. We wanted a special song played for the walk down the aisle that is originally played on the piano. Our hearts were set on it and, not only did her team compose it to match the string quartet, but it sounded even better than the piano. Instantly, the moment the first chord played, my dad and I wear in tears. Our guests also loved the contemporary and romantic songs played during cocktail hour. It wasn't overpowering and added a beautiful elegance to the hour. If Kimberly has your date available, book immediately!

The most elegant sounding music

I never want to have a DJ again. Luminous Sounds has set the bar so high for other string ensembles, DJs in general and honestly, other musicians. The minute I knew my fiancé and I were having a micro wedding, we knew a DJ just would not work. When I found Luminous Sounds I knew 100% that they were who we needed. Their repertoire list has so much to choose from and even if they choose music for an event, there will not be any disappointment. We had a quartet for our wedding and they truly exceeded our expectations. Our guest and those on social media said it looked and sounded like a storybook fairytale. Even though it was my wedding, I would have to agree. I was telling my fiancé that I'm ready to plan another event for spring/summer just to have them play again. The music was powerful, as string instruments are beautiful and have a unique sound, but it was also light, elegant and magical. My guests and I also made it a fun little competition to see who could guess the songs first. Luminous Sounds has a place in my heart that has made it so full. They will not let anyone down with their work.

Highly, highly recommend Luminous Sounds!

We had a strings duet from Luminous Sounds perform at our Camp Hero wedding ceremony on September 21st. Our wedding day was an absolute dream, and one of my favorite memories is hearing the music change from Arioso to Air on the G String as my parents walked me down the aisle. ✨ (Side note: I unknowingly chose the same processional song as my mom!)

Luminous Sounds was a vendor I knew I wanted to work with from the very start. Booking and communicating with Kimberly was super easy, and I felt confident in her hands. On the day of the wedding, the musicians were prompt and professional. Our guests LOVED the classical strings music as they took in the views of the Montauk lighthouse from the oceanside bluffs. Highly, highly recommend Luminous Sounds!

Best Ceremony Musicians in NY :)

Kimberly and her team at Luminous Sounds recently played for us at our ceremony in Long Island City and it was absolutely perfect! They brought so much elegance to our wedding and were able to incorporate both classical and pop music into the ceremony. From day one Kimberly made this process so easy and was always quick to respond with any questions we had. I am beyond happy we chose them to help us celebrate our special day. Provided the Best Music!

Luminous Sounds did an amazing job at our 03/23/18 wedding at the Dumbo Loft in Brooklyn. The addition of the string music to our ceremony made it feel so special and intimate. Kim was so easy to work with before the wedding and was very helpful in selecting music, etc. On the wedding day she went above and beyond and everything was perfect. I can't say enough great things about Kim and her business and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for an extra special musical touch to their wedding day.

After a little back and forth with my now-husband about ceremony music, I said I wanted traditional strings for my entrance and our recessional. Now comes the crazy part- he wanted to process in with his parents to the theme from the classic movie, 'Superman'. This was his wedding dream... and he got it for our 9/15/18 wedding at an old Gold-Coast mansion in Long Island, NY. Luminous Sounds was recommended to us by our planner, Leah Weinberg of Color Pop Events, and although I barely saw the, they sounded beautiful from what I remember and coordination and payment with the company was quite easy. I highly recommend Luminous Sounds if you're looking for a string quartet!

We found Luminous Sounds through a recommendation from our band. Kim is a true professional, the easiest vendor we communicated with from the get-go. She made everything so EASY and was always there if we had any questions on anything.
The music they play ranges from classical to upbeat, pop and contemporary. My bridal procession walked down to Storybook Love (Princess Bride) and for our recession as a surprise for my groom we walked out to May the Force (Star Wars). During cocktail hour the music was upbeat and was a nice touch to have in the background while our guests enjoyed all the food and drinks. All in all, the perfect background to our ceremony and the music tailored to our tastes and preferences. Our guests told us how great they sounded and enjoyed the music just as we had hoped. We couldn't be happier, and highly recommend Luminous Sounds string quartet - a superbly talented group of women.

Luminous Sounds was fantastic. We had them play for the ceremony and for cocktail hour. They play old music, new, classic, and whatever else you want! We had so many compliments from guests about how beautiful it was to have them playing live music. Highly recommend!

I loved working with Luminous Sounds! I heard them perform at a pop up shop in Manhattan and when I heard them play Jason mraz’s “lucky” (the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to) I booked them right away. Kimberly is super responsive and answered all my questions. I told her that I wanted my bridesmaid to sing for the bridal processional, and she recorded the quartet playing the song so my bridesmaid would have something to practice with (they even arrived early on the wedding day to practice with her!) Having luminous sounds at our ceremony made it SO much more special. They are so talented and our guests were so impressed!

We hired Luminous Sounds on the recommendation of our wedding planner. We were originally looking at other options for our ceremony, like some pieces from our band, but we felt really strongly at the end of the day that strings would give us the feel that we wanted. Kimberly and the Luminous Sounds team came through for us, and made the ceremony that much more special. While we were initially hesitant about hiring the quartet because we weren't sure we needed that many pieces, we did not for a second regret our decision. Kimberly worked with us to choose the right music and was super accommodating and responsive. The quartet sounded a thousand times better than any others we had heard, and were wonderful to work with.

Luminous Sounds was fabulous. To be honest, since I was the bride, I didn't really get to hear them very much, but reviews from friends and family were all glowing. They had a great repertoire to choose from -- all of the songs we wanted were available to us. They were professional and easy to work with, overall highly recommend!

Luminous Sounds were so fantastic. They provided the ceremony and cocktail hour music for my wedding 10/01/17. Early on I had a problem with my venue in which I had to change. LS had no problem making changes to my contract and I even got a personal phone call to see if I needed help finding another venue or anything at all! The music was flawless. I got so many compliments from my guests. If you want that extra touch for any event, I highly recommend you book them!

Luminous Sounds was just the perfect fit for our wedding ceremony on 9/23/17. Their repertoire is wonderfully dynamic so it was very easy to choose the perfect songs to represent us as a couple. We also requested to have a special but unusual song played during our recessional but they were on top of it with no hesitations. 10/10, just amazing!

I can't say enough nice things about Kimberly and Luminous Sounds. They are so professional, organized, knowledgable and easy to work with. I only wish I was able to hear more of the music, but, being the bride, you miss a lot of the ceremony!

We booked a Luminous Sounds quartet for our August wedding and were blown away by the quality and professionalism of both the musicians and Kimberly. Every step of the process was seamless and on the day of our wedding the quartet sounded absolutely amazing. My husband and I got married on 7/7/17 & we had Luminous Sounds for our reception & cocktail hour. I first fell in love with them when I heard them play cocktail hour at our cousins wedding. I knew right then and there I wanted them for my wedding. We started following them on social media and attended numerous events at great restaurants where they performed and they were on point each time. I truly believe that having live music gives your wedding or any event for that matter a whole other vibe that EVERYONE enjoys. Luminous sounds gave a elegant feel to our wedding and here we are a month later and everyone is STILL talking about how amazing they are! Kim truly made us feel at ease by walking us through everything and choosing from their song list. My husband and I didn't want the traditional "here comes the bride" song when I walked down the isle, we always liked the song "The winner is" from the little miss sunshine soundtrack & Luminous Sounds learned how to play that song for us. They were absolutely AMAZING and I am so happy they were available for our wedding. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND LUMINOUS SOUNDS FOR YOUR EVENT!!!!! & lastly I just would like thank Luminous Sounds for making our wedding that much more special!

Having a string quartet perform at our ceremony was my fiance's gift to me and it was more than I could ask for. Luminous Sounds did an incredible job. It was truly magical! I was so impressed by their professionalism, responsiveness and tact. They knew exactly what they were doing throughout our (rather long) Roman Catholic wedding mass. I can only imagine what they can do when there are no religious/time restrictions. So very glad we chose Luminous Sounds. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to make their event extra special.

Luminous Sounds was the perfect compliment to our church wedding in Garden City at St. Joseph's! Having the trumpet and strings to accompany the organ player, made for the most beautiful wedding music. I'll never forget the Trumpet Voluntary that played while I walked down the aisle. My husband and I received so many compliments on the wedding music, so we can't say thank you enough! Working with Kimberly leading up to the big day was a breeze. She was very responsive and helpful throughout the whole process. Hire Luminous Sounds for the most beautiful wedding music. You will not be disappointed!!

We found Luminous Sounds by my sister on Instagram. We are so happy that she did because Kimberly was soo good at accommodating our song requests and she responded quickly to all of our questions and emails. She even made it to our wedding rehearsal ! They had a large selection of classical music to choose from their repertoire. Their professionalism was awesome and they played so beautifully at our wedding ceremony it was like the icing on the cake. It was a super special blessing to have them play at our wedding ceremony.

While I would like to sincerely apologize for this review being late- better late than never! My husband and I had our wedding, May 14th, 2016 at the Old Field Club in Setauket. We chose to do a daytime brunch and our ceremony began at 10:30am.

There are seldom things that completely take my breath away but the sound I heard as a I walked down the aisle to meet my husband was the most breathtaking noise I have ever heard. I had chosen less traditional songs and more modern pieces. Kim was able to take my vision beyond what I even dreamed of. She was not only professional but extremely polite, organized and enjoyable to work with. I am so thankful that we chose Luminous Sounds to be a part of our day that we had been dreaming and planning for years. My only regret is that I did not book them for our reception. My guest raved about the music they provided and the comments we received were; "beyond classy, beautiful, stunning" and the list goes on. It was hands down the best decision to have them provide our ceremony music. I would highly recommend them!!!!!!

Kim- Thank you for all your kindness through the planning. Being gracious on my procrastination and changing of songs. You delivered your service so beautifully. Ryan and I are beyond thankful for you and all the ladies that attended. We could not have been more thankful for how you helped create our ceremony to be the "best day ever."

Kim and Luminous Sounds were fantastic! She was very quick to respond to any and all questions and very accommodating. One thing that I really appreciated was she was able to get an arrangement made of a song my husband and I love, the request was a bit last minute and I was so happy she could come through. For our prelude music they had a really nice variety of repertoire to choose from, I opted for more pop tunes but they had a great selection of more traditional numbers as well.

I hired Luminous Sounds String Quartet for my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and let me just say, they are FABULOUS!! So easy to work with, affordable and extremely talented. I was very happy with their song selections for classic and contemporary music and my guests are still gushing over how beautifully they played. Luminous Sounds provided the soundtrack at my daughter's wedding this past Sunday, September 25. The musical selection was classical. They sounded beautiful. My dream was always to give my daughter a elegant wedding and Luminous Sounds helped that dream come true. They provided us with a list of classical music to select which they played beautifully. They were professional and respectful to our faith. I would recommend Luminous Sounds to any bride in Long Island area looking for have music played. You will NOT be disappointed.

Luminous Sounds were amazing from start to finish. The response time was immediate, they are very thorough & organized. With all the little tasks that come along with planning a wedding they made it very easy. I was unsure of what songs to play and Luminious offered wonderful suggestions. I would recommend to anyone. A guest at our wedding booked them for their wedding right after hearing them at ours. That's how great they were :-)

Listen to their music that's available to get a sense of their style and determine if that fits your needs or vision. Talk to them about your wishes, preferences and expectations. Upon doing both these things, we had a conversation that included their suggestions of music not posted online and they tailored their performance list to our audience really well! Additionally, the group was hired as a surprise to the bride & groom and so they were careful and thoughtful to blend in from their attire to their set up behind the scenes and were a huge hit playing crowd favorites- old and new- throughout the cocktail hour.

These girls are fantastic! Was debating between a harpist or string quartet for my ceremony and cocktail hour and so glad we chose Luminous Sounds string quartet. They got back to me quickly after my first inquiry and walked us through the process to make everything easy for us. They do beautiful classical music for the ceremony and are awesome at pop music for cocktail hour. They do all songs from Nirvana to Coldplay to Jason Mraz and Journey. And it sounds amazing! Everyone couldn't get over how great they were and were singing along. Kimberly was a pleasure to work with and guided us the whole way through. They were on time, professional and wonderful. I am so happy they were part of our wedding day. Would not have been the same without them. Thank you so so much.

Luminous Sounds is amazing! They provided the soundtrack to my dream wedding. I will never forget walking down the aisle to their beautiful music. My guests are still raving about the elegance they brought to the event. Hiring them was one of our best wedding planning decisions we made.

Luminous Sounds were the perfect addition to our wedding! We had a 1/2 hour between when our guests arrived and when our ceremony began, and we decided to hire them as a string quartet. Our guests absolutely loved hearing them play before the ceremony. Walking down the aisle to the beautiful strings was a truly elegant touch to our ceremony, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Kim was a joy to work with, and she made everything so easy for me. I would definitely recommend Luminous Sounds to any bride to be. You will not be disappointed!

One of the best things we did for our wedding was hire Luminous Sounds! The entire process from inquiry to ceremony was such a pleasure. The president and artistic director, Kimberly Musial, is professional, organized, responsive, and talented beyond belief. Having a string quartet play during our ceremony and cocktail hour was priceless! Our guests were not only impressed, they were moved by the quality of music they were listening to. I highly recommend Luminous Sounds for any event. They will add a touch of class to your special occasion that would otherwise be missed!

I honestly cannot even begin to express how amazing Luminous Sounds was at my wedding. My husband and I met through working at a record label. As such, music was one of the most important aspects of our day. I knew that I wanted a string quartet and was insistent on finding one that played pop music. Believe it or not, this was harder to find then you think. I reached out to Luminous Sounds and Kim got right back to me. She was incredibly responsive and after listening to their music on the website, I was hooked. Luminous Sounds was a huge part of making our wedding day so amazing. They played during our ceremony and cocktail hour and our guests are still talking about how neat it was to have a pop string quartet and most importantly...how talented they were. They are passionate, kind, and so so easy to work with. If you want amazing music, a responsive and flexible company, at a great price...hire Luminous Sounds!

Kimberly was amazing to work with! She was very responsive to my emails. We were going through so much wedding-planning headaches that we marked down the contract due date on the wrong date. But Kimberly was so understanding!!
Unfortunately come wedding day, it was so hectic that I didn't even get a chance to introduce myself. We were being pulled left and right for the official photographs and before we know it, we were already walking down for the ceremony. Although I drowned myself in emotions as I was walking down and looking at my husband, I couldn't really listen to the music. But all my guests had came back with positive feedback with the music. Thank you again!!!

Kimberly is so responsive and pleasant! I did not have to worry about anything when it came to the ceremony music! They arrived on time, and played beautiful music. All our conversations were done through email and my questions were always answered. I would highly recommend using luminous sounds for any occasion!

Luminous Sounds string quartet played before, during and after my wedding ceremony on July 25, 2015. They were FANTASTIC!! My guests are still saying how beautifully they sounded and how professional they were! They are extremely friendly and talented and they truly made my ceremony special and complete. My fiancée and I knew we wanted them at our wedding from the very second we heard them play. They know how to play MANY songs...so you will have a lot to choose from. Kimberly was very responsive and always made sure my questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. Through Luminous Sounds we also hired a pianist to play during cocktail hour and he was fabulous as well! I would highly recommend Luminous Sounds Inc. for weddings or any other special events. I promise you they will do a great job and make your event memorable. I will never forget how I felt walking down the aisle and hearing the beautiful quartet in the background. Luminous Sounds was incredible to work with! Kimberly helped me every step of the way and her communication was amazing. I had a solo violinist play at my ceremony and she was absolutely wonderful. She played beautifully and the guests really enjoyed her. I would definitely book Luminous Sounds again for future events. Luminous Sounds were amazing, my guests raved about them! They helped make our ceremony that much more wonderful with their beautiful music. Kimberly was responsive and flexible. Her quartet was a lovely complement to my friend's spectacular wedding. The musical selections were terrific and tasteful. Her ensemble arrived promptly and we're ready at the exact time promised. I would highly recommend her service!

We hired Luminous Sounds (string duet format) to provide ceremony and cocktail hour music for our wedding on September 6th. Our only regret is not having enough time to enjoy them ourselves as our guests raved about them for weeks after the wedding! Kimberly is a great communicator, was quick to reply to all of our questions, and helped guide us through our arrangement selections months in advance. In short, we would recommend Luminous Sounds without a single reservation!

We had such a mixed crowd of young old and many different ethnicities and races and our DJ was able to mix all varieties of music to keep everyone on the dance floor. He did a great job, it was a tough crowd! But everyone stayed on there feet and had an amazing time. He was very patient!

My mom is a violinist and booked Luminous sounds for my April 27, 2018 wedding at Raphael. They provide such a great selection of classic and popular music, and I was really excited when Signed, Sealed, Delivered made its way onto their repertoire before my wedding because I wanted it for my recessional (they'll learn songs for you for a small fee, but I was excited it was already on there by the time it was time to decide on my program!). I heard the prelude and recessional from the top of the vineyard, where I was hiding waiting for the ceremony, and it was beautiful. I didn't get to hear too much of cocktail hour because of photos, but what I did hear was great and I know the guests enjoyed it! As a heads up, they are unable to play outside unless it's between 60-90 degrees. They were willing to do it in the 50s for me but it poured so it was indoors anyway. I definitely recommend them.

Luminous Sound recently played for us at our wedding reception in Greenport. We could not be any happier that we chose Kimberly and Luminous Sound to provided our guests with a most pleasurable sensory experience. The music was absolutely beautiful.

As we approached the reception venue on foot with our guests the beautiful sound of the string quartet, playing was gently flowing through the air, drawing us closer. When we arrived we were greeted with one of our favorite songs, which was preformed beautifully. It was the most memorable and beautiful moment standing, with my husband at my side, the sun gently filtered through the Pergola and Beech tree, listening and softly singing along to Sara Barellis' "I choose you". That bespoke moment in time will forever be embedded in our memory. And for that, we cannot thank them enough!

Throughout the reception the group played beautifully, all of our guests commented on how great they sounded. We thoroughly enjoyed the elegant simplicity of having a string quartet play at our wedding, and we couldn't be happier with choosing Luminous Sound. Kimberly was an absolute pleasure to work with and in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding, gave us confidence that our wedding day would be perfect. Thank you Luminous Sound for bringing the element of beautiful sound to our wedding day.

We had Luminous Sounds perform during the ceremony of our wedding. They were extremely accomodating and did an amazing job orchestrating a song I've always wanted at my wedding! They played both classical and modern songs to the delight of my guests. They raved about my processional and recessional. Luminous Sounds was extremely professional throughout the process and during the wedding. Kim was a delight to work with and I would definitely recommend this duo!

Definitely worth it

Kimberly at luminous sounds was really easy to work with! She was very professional and helpful with her recommendations. I was all over the place during the ceremony but when I watch the videos back they played beautifully!! The only thing I was sad about was that because it was drizzling and our ceremony was outside, the musicians stayed in a covered tent so I didn't get to see them play, just heard them from behind me. As said in a few other posts, its hard when your the bride to take it all in. I would definitely use luminous sounds again and I would also recommend to have them for the cocktail hour too so that the bride and groom can really experience them. xo

The Illuminate String Quartet was wonderful! We originally were only looking for music for our ceremony but were so happy we decided to have the quartet play our cocktail hour as well. It was so great having live music at both of those parts of our wedding. Their artistic director, Kimberly, was so helpful from our initial contact through the final planning details. We highly recommend Luminous Sounds!

Very good violinists however there was a little confusion on when the payment was due and was sent a not so nice email but other than that great.
