The Perfect Dress

I can count on my hand the times in the past two years that I’ve worn a dress, but I decided I did want to wear one for my wedding. On my wedding day, I wanted to feel like a sorcerer from the future, an old-timey Hollywood starlet, or a powerful witch. My stylist Julie understood the assignment perfectly. She had a number of my selections available, and also suggested gowns that were within my vision. The result was a gown that I was absolutely in love with! LOVE The Lovely Bride Philly

I cannot say enough about this place! My sister found her dream dress here and when I got engaged I knew this was the one and only place that I wanted to go for my dress. Being a plus size bride, I wanted to make sure I felt comfortable and confident and this plays continues to blow my mind. They are just amazing and gave me some perfect options to try on without completely overwhelming me. They never pushed me towards a style or made me feel uncomfortable. We ended up combining details from a few dress to make my dream dress (which was their suggestion) and I couldn’t have been happier. If you live in the Philly area please make sure to visit The Lovely Bride, you will not be disappointed!!

Beautiful gowns and excellent service

This is a bit of a delayed review because my wedding was delayed due to COVID, but I had the BEST experience shopping for my wedding dress at Lovely Bride. Liz helped me during my visit and was so kind and patient with me. Thanks to Liz I was the most relaxed and comfortable at Lovely Bride out of all the places I went to. On top of having the best stylists and staff, they have the best selection of dresses in the area. I can’t recommend them enough!

Simply the best!

Lovely Bride Philadelphia, you will forever have a very special place in my heart. Thank you for making the dress shopping experience what it was. Ivy, thank YOU for being YOU. You were such a pleasure to work with and made the process so easy and enjoyable. Lovely Bride is a beautiful store with an amazing selection of absolutely gorgeous dresses.

The first time I tried on my dress, I was pretty sure it was the one, but I left that day without buying it and came back a week or two later. I also appreciated this because Lovely did not pressure me into making a commitment and when I came back to try it on again (and this time buy it), Ivy spent extra time with me to accessorize and pick the most BEAUTIFUL veil to go with it.

I was a COVID Bride and for the longest time, I clung to the dress shopping experience. It was one of the only moments that I truly felt like a bride. The fact that I had such a wonderful experience at Lovely really helped me to bottle up the joy of this time and treasure that moment.

Anddddd one the silving lining of COVID is that I got to wear my dress twice !!

Amazing experience

I cannot speak highly enough about Lovely Bride. First off, the shop is so beautiful and spotless. It was exactly what I imagined when I thought of wedding dress shopping. The gowns were absolutely stunning, and ultimately I chose my wedding dress here (it was an easy decision!) The biggest reason for leaving a review was how unbelievably helpful my stylist, Stephanie, was. She was so attentive and patient, and she really had such a great feel for what my style is. I was so nervous about choosing a dress, but the true reason I ended up with my perfect dress was because of Stephanie!!

Great service during COVID shutdown

As a bride that chose a dress during COVID, I was a bit bummed that I would not have the leisurely, mimosas and family style bridal appointment. However, Lovely Bride had a system that still worked pretty well. I got to talk to the consultant that I would be working with in the store and choose some dresses ahead of time, which were waiting for me in the store when I arrived. Although the experience was rushed due to COVID, and my family and friends were on Zoom instead of in person, it was still a pretty good appointment. My appointment ended right before I got to try a veil on with the dress I was pretty sure I wanted, and the manager kindly let me stay an extra 30 min to try one on and check it really was the dress I wanted. I really appreciated the time that they gave me at the end. Their selection of dresses was good, and they seemed very honest about their prices and the other prices I should remember in the total cost such as alterations and taxes.

Searching for your wedding dress during a worldwide pandemic isn't ideal, but they made it SO much easier and fun! Not only did they make my mom and I feel safe, but they also have a wonderful selection of beautiful dresses. Some other bridal shops I went to were a bit pushy, but the staff at Lovely Bride were an absolute joy to work with, super knowledgable and helpful. I'm so happy to have found my dream dress with them. Would highly recommend!

For the bride who wants something a little different!

The dresses at Lovely Bride are amazing. I knew going into my wedding that I wasn't going to want a really traditional gown, so I decided to try Lovely Bride since I knew it was an indie wedding shop. I wound up going 3 different times before I settled on a dress because I was really torn between two that I loved. I finally decided on a MWL dress that was absolutely beautiful; a gown with a nude base that was the perfect balance of bridal and boho. Taylor helped me at each appointment and she was great. She was super sweet, knowledgable and helpful. She pulled awesome dresses for me. I would definitely recommend for any bride who wants something that will be bridal but still reflect their own style.

Great experience

Ivy is a genius at finding the right dress and making any type of bride feel super special. She was extremely patient with me - even though it took me 3 appointments to commit, she was upbeat, fun and friendly throughout it all. The dress arrived earlier than expected, and the whole process, from picking out what to try on to picking it up, was wonderful.

Easy & Authentic Experience

I had a wonderful experience at the Lovely Bride! Amanda was my bridal consultant for both of my appointments. I loved both the online and in-person experience with the lovely bride. Not only was it easy to book appointments through the website, but I also received helpful follow-up emails after my appointments. While in the shop, Amanda was very attentive to my wants and needs. She pulled all the gowns I wanted to try and also helped me choose ones that I didn't see myself. She was sweet and respectful. Unlike my experience at other bridal shops, the lovely bride did not try to pressure me into buying a dress. Overall, great quality dresses, amazing service and easy online experience made my dress purchase easy and authentic.

Loved Lovely!!

I picked up my wedding dress last weekend and can say I had an amazing experience with Lovely Bride from start to finish! Both the stylist who helped me find my dress and the stylist I worked with for accessories really listened to what I wanted and I never felt pressure to go over budget. A great shop for all price ranges

I went to Lovely Bride Philly multiple times during my gown searching process and every single time was an awesome experience. Both Sarah and Ivy were GREAT - they didn't get frustrated with me for coming in so many times and genuinely seemed excited when I finally found the dress! I personally love Lovely Bride because they are one of the few that carry Limor Rosen and her work is outstanding. I went to a few of her trunk shows and I ended up choosing her Aria gown in a split size and had the bottom customized to be ivory. It was amazing! I also recommend Prim and Perverse for alterations - Courtney was great to work with.

Favorite wedding dress store by far!

Lovely Bride was absolutely amazing and I had the best experience with them! They did such a good job asking me the right questions to figure out what I liked and what I wanted (because I honestly had no idea!). The dresses they have in stock are great quality, and their selection is great! They also don't keep the dresses in bags so you can actually walk around and shop easily. I ended up buying a Made with Love dress from them!

Comfortable and Special

Lovely Bride Philly was just that--Lovely! The boutique was comfortable and quiet, which felt more personal than some of the bustling salons I tried before. I was looking for a dress that was unique and edgy but wasn't exactly sure what I wanted. I worked with Ivy, who was an absolute dream. She made me feel comfortable while helping me narrow down and visualize what I wanted to feel like on my wedding day. It was like shopping with a trusted girlfriend who just happened to be an expert in all things bridal. Once I found my dress, Ivy suggested some great styling tips and brought the whole vision all together. If you are looking for an intimate shop to find a unique gown, do not pass up Lovely!

It was like shopping for dresses with my friends..

I can't get over the excellent experience I had at Lovely Bride Philadelphia. I visited the location twice, one to try on a few dresses, and one to pick mine up. I found a ton of stylish, fashion forward, different dresses by the designers I had been eyeing up for MONTHS. Boho wedding dress of my dreams

Lovely Bride helped all of my boho dreams come true. As an out of town bride, I only visited the shop once with company and the other three times by myself. But I didn’t feel by myself because all of the women who work there are so fun and complimenting. Even though I had a wonderful dedicated attendant, several other girls at the store came in to join in on my experience. They really care about their brides and I seriously love everyone that works there!

Unlike my previous dress shopping experience in NYC at a different store, my girl at lovely completely understood my vision and pulled out several figure flattering styles that matched my vision and price point. This is was critical to success as I came from out of town and had a crew with me so I had to find the one! Although I loved every dress I tried on, I feel hard for the Rue De Seine poppy stardust and we all knew it was the one.

I think my favorite time was trying on accessories by myself ( ps- GO there for accessories). I had so much fun with the attendants as it was right after the royal wedding and was really feeling a tiara but boho. They had the perfect boho tiara for me as well as a second halo option I loved. Want to diversify your ceremony and reception look? Get two head pieces! I’ve included pictures from my photographers ( shout out M2) of my dress and both headpieces.

If you want to feel like a boho princess, lovely bride is the store for you. You won’t regret it!

Saved the Best for Last

My dress was perfect and my experience with Lovely was the reason why I loved it so. I bought my dress over a year before my wedding which sounds insane but I knew I had the time to search and I really searched. I looked at numerous designers and quickly realized what I liked and didn't. Then, I learned majority of places I was looking did not have the designers and style I was looking for; in came Lovely.
I was in Philadelphia for a bridal shower last year and thought I'll make an appointment so my mom and I can go look. This was my 4th bridal shop searching but I was panicking because I still had plenty of time if I did not find what I was looking for. I gave my dress consultant my price range and she got to searching. She was honest with me and let me know one of the designers I was looking at started at my highest I would go. I tried on quite a few dresses in the hour and a half appointment, which was another reason I loved this place, and when my time was almost up I still had nothing I really loved. One final dress was brought in, which the hanger did nothing for, and she said I think you're going to love this. I put it on and before she pulled the curtain for my mom to see I exclaimed "this is it!" My mom saw it and agreed.
Lovely has an amazing selection that is unique and with a variety of price ranges. If you want a dress that only a handful of people will wear, I can't recommend this place enough!

I had a wonderful experience at the Lovely Bride Philly and purchased the dress of my dreams there. I went to 12 dress stores and finally found the perfect gown at the Lovely Bride. Ivy was so patient and easy to work with and professional. She really knows what she is doing. She picked out the perfect gown, belt and veil for me. She knew what I wanted better than I did. I wasn't ready to commit the day I tried on my dress so she let me sleep on it and come back when I was ready. Everything was within my budget. I looked amazing at my wedding and I can't say enough great things. It was truly a lovely experience that myself, mom and mother-in-law enjoyed.

Lovely Bride is an amazing store for the bride who is looking for an untraditional gown by more boutique, boho designers. The store itself is beautiful and made for such a great experience. All of their dresses are in easy to browse racks in the middle of the store. The consultant brings you back into a personal room and you discuss budget and what you are looking for. Then the two of you browse the racks, which are full of so many amazing and unique gowns it makes it hard to choose! I worked with Julie who was so sweet and knowledgeable! She was more than happy to let me pick a few on my own and came up with so many great considerations. In the end I chose a beautiful Rue De Seine dress. I can't recommend both Lovely Bride and the designer Rue De Seine enough!

I had a great experience with the Lovely Bride! I walked in not knowing what I wanted just knowing that I didn't want a strapless dress and their consultants walked me through a bunch of different styles only to decide that I did want a strapless dress! Ordering the dress was seamless, they delivered a dress that was under my budget, let me know when to come and pick it up and were very communicative about the process. They even provided recommendations for seamstresses to alter the dress (Courtney Alston did an amazing job).

Lovely was my one-stop shop for my wedding dress. After being very put off by other places in the area who scoffed at my $2,000 budget, Lovely was a breath of fresh air. My consultant was very sweet and knowledgeable. The selection they have is great! My sister and I both purchased our wedding dresses from Lovely Bride and cannot say enough great things about the boutique! The shop is gorgeous as well as every dress inside! The only difficult experience here was trying to choose only one dress! Not only was every dress stunning, but even the most gorgeous dresses were right in our price ranges. Also, the staff was so helpful and nice. We had an amazing time each visit. Definitely go to Lovely Bride if you are looking for the perfect dress!

I am not only writing this review as a former employee of the Lovely franchise--I truly mean it when I say Lovely Bride is the best bridal salon. Ivy and Aleza are beyond wonderful, and can help any bride bring their wedding vision to life. Lovely is not your average bridal salon with run-of-the-mill, cookie cutter styles; Lovely caters to out-of-the-box, creative, chic, fashionable brides that want something different. As much as I thought I knew what I wanted, I really had no idea (which is what happens when you sell dresses for a living). I had tried on so many dresses before I found the one (at Ivy's suggestion). I wanted a vintage inspired, all beaded dress without the high-end price point. As soon as I put on my Rosa Clara Soft dress, I knew it was the one. It had ALL the elements I ever wanted. It was ethereal, light, comfortable, had intricately hand beaded embroidery throughout the whole dress, and an all beaded open back. The dress was sexy without being slutty, and for a curvy girl like me, fit me like a glove. I came for the trunk show, and tried on a few other options before taking the plunge. The atmosphere, the dress selection, the comfort you feel; everything just makes Lovely so, well, lovely. As I have before, I recommend any bride looking for something extraordinary to go to Lovely.

I was dreading going dress shopping as a petite bride who pretty much hated all of the typical "in-style" big floofy or satin mermaid gowns. I discovered Lovely after looking for stockists that carried Anna Campbell dresses, the only designer I wanted to even consider for a wedding dress, and was worried I wasn't going to find since she's based out of Australia. Luckily I saw Lovely was having an Anna Campbell trunk show and decided to make the trek to Philly. Not only was I overwhelmed with how beautiful all the Anna Campbell dresses were, I discovered several other designers that made equally as unique and beautiful dresses which made me realize awesome non-traditional wedding dresses do exist! I tried on several Anna Campbell's and some Rosa Clara dresses and ended up leaving my appointment having ordered my Anna Campbell dream dress. The consultants were super attentive and knowledgeable about all the dresses the day I bought my dress and the day I picked it up. The owner was also floating around helping out. It was a great experience and everyone was super personable. They were also very respectful of budget limits and showing you different options at different price points. When I picked up my dress they helped me try on and decide on accessories as well. You walk in this store and feel like your in a cloud of prettiness ;) my dress was out of this world, and pretty sure it was made for me!! I worked directly with the owner and she was great. The veil that I picked there was a perfect match to my dress and it wasn't even the same designer. The dresses are classy and not gaudy. The seamstress she recommended was also fab.

I had such an amazing experience at Lovely Bride Philly that I knew that I didn't need to shop anywhere else for my dress! I was nervous before my first (and only!) dress shopping experience but I felt so comfortable once I arrived. The shop is small and the decor is very relaxed. While my mom and maid of honor settled in in the dressing room, I was able to look through all of the dresses to pick out my favorite options. I tried on several beautiful dresses before I found my dress, and I couldn't stop looking at it once I took it off! I ended up buying my cover up from Lovely as well and I can't wait to wear my dress at my winter wedding! Every phone, email and in-person interaction I had with the girls at Lovely exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend visiting Lovely Philly!

I chose Lovely Bride because they stock Anna Campbell gowns. I love my Coco gown!! I really enjoyed the service at Lovely Bride because they were not pushy like a lot of bridal places. They were simply accommodating. No comments, no push for sales, just helpful. They made sure I was able to try on as many dresses as I wanted to during my appointment and had me in and out of the dresses quickly.

Picking out a wedding dress is the most exciting and scary thing to do! Thankfully I was in the amazing hands of Ivy and her team at Lovely bride. I wanted a dress that had something a little different and made me feel amazing! I thought I would get a gown with some detail and ended up with a beautiful Rosa Clara dress with feathers and a ton of beading! Smaller boutique with a good selection of dresses. Unfortunately after checking out 2 other places I was starting to narrow down the type of dress I was looking for. This place didn't have the style I was searching for, but the consultant gave me a few good dresses to try as close to what I was looking for that she could find. Most dresses, from my experience, seemed more soft, romantic, lace style. I was looking for more modern, bling, bold look. Not their fault, so I didn't knock any points. Consultant was sweet and didn't seem like she was trying to shoo me out because clearly I wasn't going to find my dress here. easy to make and appointment, and able to take pictures in the dresses.

Lovely Bride was a great experience from start to finish! They were very responsive when I contacted them to make my appointment, walked me through what I would need to bring, and answered all my questions. They had notes on what I was looking for when I showed up and they made me feel really comfortable looking through some options. I never felt rushed when I was trying dresses on and they even walked me through combining my favorite skirt with the dress top I liked most. I ended up with a gorgeous dress that my family loved too. When my order came in, it was an easy process to come in to try it on and make sure everything was perfect. If you are looking for a backless dress you absolutely MUST go here!!! I went to 8 different bridal salons and none of them had the selection of beautiful, and reasonably priced, backless gowns that Lovely has! The women at the salon were incredible - they were patient with me and my large group and really focused on exactly what I was looking for. I found my dress and had a great experience in the process. Lovely Bride was wonderful. Arrive for your appointment in a cute part of Old City, Philadelphia to see the beautiful window displays. Ring the doorbell to be let into a beautiful, open, bright, airy space full of the most dreamy, indie wedding dresses you can find with friendly staff! It was hard to choose a dress - so many gorgeous options!! Julie was our girl for finding, fitting/trying on, ordering, and picking up the dress. On both occasions we were at the shop, she was pleasant, patient, extremely helpful and well versed. My mother had a lot of questions and Julie was very patient and kind with her. Picking up the dress was a very exciting time- I got to try on hair accessories, jewelry and veils to envision what I'll be looking like on the big day. I'll be back for a jewelry appointment - I had my eye on a gorgeous pair of earrings I had tried on and would love to go back for them! Thank you Lovely for being.. Lovely! :)

A close friend recommended Lovely to find a beautiful and unique dress. It was my first appointment of the day (and ever) and after trying on 6 or 7 dresses and nearing the end of my appointment, I really felt I wasn't going to find "the one." My consultant gave it one last chance and brought me two really unique dresses, and the last one I tried on was it! I fell in love and never wanted to take it off. The fact that all through the appointment she adapted her dress pulls to match my feedback and learned my personality enough to take a chance on this incredibly unique dress, I am so thankful! I told her my max budget, and while she did her best to stay under it, she made sure I knew how much over some of the dresses were (mine ended up being slightly over). But they were able to work with me to stay as close to my max as possible. She had a ton of options for my under $2000.00 budget so do not shy away if you are looking to spend a little for a beautiful gown. The entire salon was helping me and ooing and aahing over my choice and really made me feel like it was my special day.

I had the best experience at Lovely Bride this weekend. It was actually my first experience looking at dresses and I was not quite sure what to expect. I walked in and the atmosphere was soothing and relaxing, making the whole atmosphere seem very stress free. The consultant I worked with understood exactly what I was looking for and respected the budget I gave her and pulled amazing dresses. She even accommodating my mom who wanted to make sure I saw all different types of looks to make sure I really knew what I wanted. Would recommend this spot to everyone! Lovely Bride is amazing! I had gone to a few other bridal shops and none compared. This was my second appointment here as I am very indecisive. Amber was my consultant both times and her and Ivy were just wonderful. I felt so comfortable the entire time. Let me tell you I do not have the body of a tiny bride. I have curves and a large bust and have always worried about when I would try on a gown if it would even look okay. They may me feel beautiful and helped me pick a dress that looks amazing! Something I wouldn't normally try on but so glad I did. I went with a Watters Wtoo gown that had just arrived that morning and I am IN LOVE. If you want a shop that is so friendly and can make you feel like the amazing bride you are then Lovely is the place to go!

I had an absolutely incredible experience at Lovely Bride. Ivy was so sweet and attentive despite being the only one working in the store that day. She really took the time to listen to what I was looking for a gave me lots of options to try. She ended up nailing it with the very first dress, but I probably got to try on 12-15 dresses in all which is a lot! Even though they carry more non-traditional dresses they have a huge variety so you can definitely find a dress for every wedding style. Most of the prices were also very reasonable and I appreciated that I was never pressured to try something over my budget. Overall I was thrilled with the experience at Lovely from start to finish.

I would highly recommend Lovely Bride in Philadelphia! I really enjoyed working with Julie, who was very sweet and accommodating. I originally tried a few dresses as part of a trunk show and although some of the items I liked were not part of the normal inventory of the store, they were willing to bring them back in for me, which I really appreciated. I found the online scheduling system very easy and communication was seamless throughout the process. The staff were very nice & friendly and the selection of dresses was great. They also let you take pictures, which I have yet to find another bridal salon to allow and was very helpful in the dress selection process.

I absolutely love this store! First of all, it's adorable, so much so that I actually made paper pinwheels that mimics the ones in the store for our wedding because I loved them so much! And second of all, the dress selection here is to die for! Lovely Bridal was my first and only wedding dress shopping experience. It is a small but cute shop with excellent bridal designers and a surprisingly diverse selection. I knew I would want an Ivy & Aster dress going in but tried on other dresses as well. It was so nice to be able to pick dresses off the rack with the advice of the consultant. What a great little place. The selection is not massive but to me that was a plus! I didn't want to have to sort through a million styles.

Ivy is the best! From our first email I knew I was going to love her and when we finally met I felt incredibly comfortable. It takes a lot to get undressed in front of someone as adorable as she is but she makes you feel at ease and is perfectly honest if a dress isn't "you". It's an important purchase and having that objective point of view that still feels supportive and kind was more than I could have hoped for. We laughed and joked and when we found the actual dress, we all knew it.

If you are looking for an experience that is comfortable, easy and also feels special; then Lovely is for you. I had gone to three shops and having Lovely as the first made all the others pale in comparison. I returned back for their Leanne Marshall trunk show and walked away that evening having purchased the dress that made me feel just like me. On my wedding day I felt so incredibly beautiful and it started with that dress. Take it from me.... Lovely is everything you want out of a bridal shop.

Lovely Bride came highly recommended and they also carried many different designers that weren't common in the area, so I knew I would be able to find something unique! Lovely Bride was the first bridal salon I went to, and I almost regret that because the other stores I went to were so disappointing in comparison!

The service was great. My consultant, Aleza, asked me about my wedding and what sorts of dresses I liked, and when we walked around looking at the dresses she made suggestions. Then, as I tried on dresses, she made adjustments to what she had me try on according to what I liked and disliked. She definitely listened and I felt like we were on the same page. When I tried on the dresses, she took care to clip them properly so that everything was aligned and I could get a sense of how the dress would look in the proper size. (As I said, I was spoiled by going here first. The other places clipped in a much more haphazard way.) I didn't feel pressured at all (either of the two visits) to make a purchase. Also, they let you take pictures and give you the name of the designer and dress so that you can think about it with a clear head if you'd like.

The selection was great and definitely different than the other shops.They have many dresses with an indie/romantic/demure type of vibe (they also have other styles but that's what I paid attention to). I went to two other stores (Bijou and Nordstrom Bridal) that had nothing that I liked. I came back to Lovely to buy my dress.

As for prices--I think everything I tried on was between $1600-2500. They told me that they have about 15 full length gowns under $1500.

I definitely recommend Lovely Bride, especially if the aforementioned styles appeal to you or if you're having trouble finding dresses in your style at the other stores.

By the time I had arrived at BridebyJ I had visited one bridal boutique, one vintage consignment shop, and one chain bridal store with no luck! Each of the stores I had been to previously lacked either in dress quality, value, customer service, etc! From the time I made my appointment with Jennifer (which she arranged for early on a day that she had a personal commitment because I was coming in from out of state!) to when I purchased my beautiful, budget friendly, high-end style wedding dress, my experience at BridebyJ was 100% wonderful! The shop was so charming and she had so many personal details that made the experience feel so special and thoughtful. Jennifer was totally respectful of my budget and style and even seam-ripped an amazing applique to add to my dress from a different belt in the store! I can't imagine a better wedding dress experience for anyone! If you are within a 100 mile radius (or more!) and are looking for the perfect dress without all the chaos of a chain store and with the lovliest person in this business, visit Jennifer!

I found my dream dress at Bride by J ! I wasn't expecting to find it on my first weekend of dress shopping but it happened.

From the moment I emailed Jennifer about what I was looking for and what my venue was like, she was quick to respond and made me feel very at ease for the appointment.
When I arrived that afternoon there was a lovely sign welcoming me and Paula had already put a few dresses out that she thought I would like.

We had the whole store to ourselves and the whole experience was just so effortless and pleasant. I found the perfect dress for me and it fit almost to a T (minus a few little alterations needed the chest area) that I will have done by their seamstress.

I really cannot stress how wonderful Paula was for helping me that day and how great Bride by J was for opening the store early Sunday morning so my Father could come see the dress before I had to head back to DC.

I would recommend Bride by J to anyone in a heartbeat!

Jennifer was very accommodating to my tight appointment window and was very easy to work with. Her shop was very clean and cute, and I loved that she set-up Bride by J in her hometown to help bring back business to their downtown. My sister, mother, friend and I walked up to a sign welcoming me (my name specifically, nice touch!). During my consultation Jennifer was helpful and knowledgeable without being pushy. She had a beautiful collection of dresses and I ended up saying "yes" to a sample from her other store. It's exactly what I imagined and the experience was perfect: low pressure, fun, and memorable, just what I wanted!

I not only purchased the wedding dress of my dreams from Jennifer, but I recently sold my wedding dress through Bride by J as well! I had always imagined keeping my gown, but my mother quickly reminded me that her gown was still sitting in a box in the attic, never to be seen or worn again. Plus, I have a baby on the way and a little extra money never hurts!
Jennifer made the consigning process absolutely seamless…she took care of my dress, found a bride that was just as in love with my dress as I was , and sent me a check all within a month! Jennifer even took the time to have my monogram removed for me to save as a keepsake…something I never even thought of!
Jennifer was an absolute pleasure to work with, both during the purchasing and consigning process! I had the most wonderful experience at Bride By J. Jennifer is the sweetest bridal boutique owner and created such an intimate experience for my mom, sister and I. I had been to plenty of other bridal boutiques but their service felt repetitive and impersonal. Bride by J creates such a personal experience complete with flowers and a welcome sign with your name, making you feel as though all focus is on you and that this really is your special time to find your dream dress. And dream dress you will with their beautiful collections including rare treasures that may not be available in other boutiques. Jennifer also knows the best way to style the dresses. She knew exactly what accessories would go perfectly which each dress. Her guidance and expertise will help your bridal vision come to life and it will be even more beautiful than you could ever imagine. I didn't end up buying my dress here, but I had a really great experience shopping here and loved the dress selection! The selection is a lot more unique than other local dress shops, and I had plenty of options within my $2500 budget. Amber was my consultant and she was really knowledgeable, helpful, & made me feel comfortable. She also followed up with me via E-mail after my appointment to see if I had any questions.

Jennifer (the owner) was a dream to work with while shopping for my dress. I grew up in the area but currently live in northern VA; I was visiting family when my mom suggested visiting Bride by J and Jennifer was kind enough to let me come shop outside of hours to accommodate my schedule. She clipped my dresses from every angle so I could see how the dress would look fitted from all sides and gave me excellent suggestions based off of what I told her I liked. On my second visit, Jennifer and her employee had a chalkboard sign greeting me outside the business and, while Jennifer was not present, her employee was immensely helpful.

first reached out to Jennifer's Bridal when I learned about their sister boutique in Oxford, PA that sold once worn dresses. I had a strict budget for my dress and alterations and thought that Bride by J would be a better fit. After emailing back and forth with Jennifer, she urged me to also come to Jennifer's as they were having a sample sale and had a large selection of dresses in my price range. I am so happy that I took her advice! Not only did I go to Jennifer's in Hockessin and find my dream dress (a perfect Alvina Valenta gown that Jennifer suggested I try on) but she also brought my top dresses to my appointment at Bride by J in Oxford that evening so that my Mom and Grandma could see them. Both boutiques were beautiful and the experience was very personal. Jennifer is fantastic at what she does and put me in my dress when I had no idea what I wanted! My family and I had a great and FUN experience, plus I felt like I was able to try on a wide selection of dresses while staying in my budget. I am looking forward to April 2015 when it's time for alterations! I would highly recommend both Jennifer's and Bride by J to anyone looking for a fun and personal experience when searching for your gown! Thanks again Jennifer :)

Stunning Gowns, Cute Shop!

I purchased my wedding dress here and loved my experience! I enjoyed being able to browse their selection online ahead of my appointment and pick out which dresses I wanted to try on so my stylist understood my style before I even arrived. I also appreciated how transparent they were with their prices rather than hiding them like so many shops. All of their dresses are unique and beautiful. My Made With Love dress came in exactly when they said it would, and their recommendation for alterations in Philly worked out great. Highly recommend Lovely Bride as your first stop because all other shops will pale in comparison!

To be corny, the employees at Lovely Bride are simply lovely. I went to both the Philadelphia and NYC locations and had great experiences. The NYC has a slightly larger selection, but Philly had an awesome starting selection. I was able to try on a dress in NYC and order it through Philly for convenience.

Lovely Bride is amazing! I highly recommending coming here for your wedding dress and accessories. Aleza was incredibly helpful and really listened to what I was feeling about each dress I tried on. The entire staff was amazing and stopped by to have a look; it was a very casual and friendly atmosphere. Before coming to Lovely Bride, I went to a few other bridal salons and felt they were too stuffy and uptight. I enjoyed being here over all and even if I hadn't found my dress here, I would be recommending it based off of the amazing experience I had. I also ended up getting a belt and veil from Lovely Bride as well as my dress!

I had a feeling I would find my dress at Lovely Bride after searching through multiple websites. I was originally set on an empire waist dress. The woman I worked with was super helpful as we went around the room picking out dresses in my price range. She picked out one A line dress - and that was the dress that ended up being the one! It was more than perfect for my body type and skin color and I couldn't imagine finding anything more perfect somewhere else. I wish they had an alterations person on site but I ended up finding a wonderful old-fashion seamstress in my neighborhood.

Lovely Bride is the best salon for personalized attention, chic dresses and not just the same cupcake dresses and designs you see year after year. This is a place with gorgeous styles that are for brides who love fashion and want to look modern and still classic on their wedding day. Loved working with Ivy, store owner, to find my ideal dress which turned out to be a custom style. Ivy was able to see that I loved two dresses by the same designer, watters, for different reasons. She quickly gave them a call and they said we could do a custom style that combined the top of the Jacinda with the Ellery skirt. My dream that I couldn't have seen without Ivy. Love Lovely Bride! A fun experience that wasn't overwhelming at all.

I almost didn't go to Lovely because from the website I thought it might be too "beach/backyard wedding" focused and I didn't want something extremely simple or a sheath. However, I was looking for a sort of romantic/slightly vintage vibe so I decided to try it out. I thought the selection of dresses was actually quite good and diverse (unless you are looking for a total glammed-up ball gown in which case this is not the store), and Ivy was great to work with. You get to look at the dresses and pick what you want to try on, unlike some other stores, but Ivy also makes suggestions too. She put me in a Leanne Marshall dress that I would never have even tried on, and it was the one! She also never pressured you to go above your ideal price point. They don't have on-site alterations, but I used the Tailory which they recommended which is not on Wedding Wire but is great.

Lovely was the perfect shop for me. I visited with Ivy first thing in the morning and the shop was quiet, though there was definitely room for friends and families to join in the dress-buying experience. Ivy picked out perfect dresses for me to try based on what I told her about my style, where we were getting married, and our wedding vision. I purchased the very first dress I tried on (though I did try on quite a few!) and received so many compliments at our wedding. I also purchased my veil and a belt at Lovely, and the entire outfit was simply perfect. Ivy was wonderful to work with, and she helped perfect the outfit for our wedding day.

What a great experience at Lovely Bride! I came to my first salon appointment worrying that it would be some intense "Say Yes To The Dress" high-pressure experience, but it wasn't at all. It is a great cozy atmosphere in their dreamy boutique! Everyone was so friendly and helpful and my Mom, Dad, and Sister were so happy to be there. Go figure, THE FIRST dress she pulled for me was The Dress! I tried on about 7 others and knew the first one was the winner. She really knew how to pick just what I was looking for!

Only con is they don't have in-house tailoring and alterations, so if you don't live downtown it is a bit of a haul to try and get your dress altered with one of their recommended seamstresses. (One of which wasn't even able to consider tailoring for me, because she was already booked 5 months in advance) So get your alteration spot lined up in advance, but if you are looking for a really beautiful and unique collection of dresses to try, a great experience, and customer service, Lovely Bride is the place to go.

The best choice!

Getting my dress at Lovely Bride in Philadelphia was a wonderful experience. Their booking process sets you up for success, especially with being able to choose your starting gowns to try on. Doing that at home before the appointment made the whole thing calmer. River was my stylist, and I was so happy to have her! She was an expert at balancing the dynamics of the group I had with me for the appointment, so I was able to focus on what I wanted. I ended up choosing a gown that was nearly the opposite of what I thought I would buy, and River made me feel very secure in my choice. In my interactions with the rest of the team, they also seemed very sweet and helpful. It is a very positive environment, and I would recommend them to everyone.

Jen was so great when I came to her shop to look for my wedding gown. She's so knowledgable about everything having to do with wedding gowns. I tried on a whole bunch of gowns but nothing really seemed to be what I wanted. I had actually put my clothes back on and was preparing to leave the shop when Jennifer pulled this one dress off the rack and asked me to try it on. I told her I saw the dress on the rack and almost tried it on because the fabric was beautiful, but I didn't like the neckline of the dress. Jennifer said that could easily be fixed with alterations. I tried the dress on and Jennifer tucked it in to make the neckline look like how she had imagined and it ended up being just what I wanted. We celebrated finding the dress and Jennifer actually pulled out a bottle of champagne so we could all cheers. What a wonderful surprise and way to celebrate! The only negative thing I could say about the experience is the seamstress I worked with who was recommended by Jennifer. After so many fittings and adjustments to the neckline, it still wasn't even at my final fitting. It wasn't anything that would be noticeable in pictures or by anyone on the day of the wedding, but I noticed it. With only a week 'til the wedding at the final fitting, I didn't want to risk the neckline being taken down any further to fix it, so I didn't say anything to the seamstress. I was just hoping that after addressing the issue at every fitting, that the neckline would be even in the end. All in all, I would still recommend Jen a hundred times over to any bride!

I visited Lovely Bride Philly as one of the first bridal salons I visited looking for my dress. I can't recommend this store enough to brides who are looking for something a little bit different and want to be able to try on and browse independent brands and designers. I think most of the dresses were a bit above my price range, but I had a good time trying dresses on and did not feel pressured. Lovely Bride was great in terms of getting back to me when I made my appointment only a few days before coming into town. My only pseudo-complaint is simply that I liked the experience I had at another bridal salon more than I liked it here.

As someone who had a very difficult time finding a dress, I highly recommend Lovely Bride. They have a great bohemian selection of dresses and their salon is unlike any other bridal salon I visited. The whole salon is adorable and the staff is relaxed and cool. I was never pressured to buy. Dresses seemed to start around $1,300 which is reasonable especially for gowns so unique. Understandably, you need an appointment. I bought my gown here and it was gorgeous, delivered on time, and totally unique. I am so thankful I found Lovely Bride!

Lovely Bride is Philly was the first place I checked out and tried on wedding dresses. I loved it, it was very clean and laid back. You have to make an appointment and get buzzed in at the entrance. The girl helping me was amazing, she was an intern and she did a fabulous job. The experience was not anything special. Nothing was offered, I was expecting to at least have a bottle of water but nope. NOTHING. I could not even look at dresses, I could barely tell her my style because my sisters and I got yelled at for looking at the dresses by one of the lady workers. I know the intern was embarrassed. Anyway, I ended up finding the dress -- Leanne Marshall 'IVY' and it was the most perfect dress! It arrived in 3 months and they also do not tailor dresses there so I took it else where.

Just Not the Right Fit

It was my first time trying on dresses, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I loved the online portal they have you set up, but when I arrived at my appointment only two dresses were pulled out of the seven I had chosen. This was the only boutique that carried the designer/dress I had been dying to try on. My stylist was not very helpful or encouraging and then tried to get us to sign a sales contract even after we stated we had to talk to my father first due to the price of the gown. Since then, there has been no follow up. It just came across as they wanted the easy sale but weren't actually invested in how important finding a dress is to a bride. We ended up going to a dress vendor closer to home, and learned what a helpful stylist is supposed to be. It was just a disappointing experience for my first time trying on a dress. I was nervous and wanted things to work out. I am sure that the Lovely Bride is still a great option, it just wasn't the right fit for me.

While I thought the dresses at Lovely Bride were beautiful, the experience could have been better. Gia was the stylist that worked with me and I thought she could have more input/personality. She gave almost no input to how I looked in the dresses or possible alterations. She also didn't ask me if I was comfortable undressing in front of her and having her in the fitting room with me. Lastly, she made me feel insecure about my budget, even scoffing when I told her I liked one dress that was much above my budget. If she had been warmer to me I probably would have been willing to go over my budget.

I loved all their styles and selection, however, the staff on my first day was very rude and pushy. She suggested that I looked at "preowned dresses" for dresses with my budget in mind. My budget was completely within their inventory. She limited the dresses that I could try on and rushed me through my appointment. I had to come back the next day to continue my search because they do not allow longer than an hour to try on dresses, even if they think they will make a sale. If I could hae found my dress anywhere else, I would have gone there to buy it, but no ones dresses compared and I purchased mine from Lovely Philadelphia. The prices were reasonable, but staff ruined the fun for me.
