I cannot recommend LOVE + WOLVES highly enough (esp. Jake for photos, Ash for beauty, and Corey for video). But I would also trust anyone on their team based on how talented and lovely Jake and Ash are as the co-founders, and how wonderfully dedicated and fiercely protective they are of the quality and aesthetic of what they offer. I poured through these reviews and all of the praise is true.
Jake is an unbelievably talented and creative photographer, but he is so much more than that. First, he really makes you feel that he cares about your day and making it special. I called him in a panic THREE DAYS before my wedding as our other photographer had cancelled. What a gift that turned out to be because Jake went out of his way to jump in and make this happen, and I know he gifted us with a day that no one else could've done. He knows every gorgeous spot you can come up with like the back of his hand, and he is a master of logistics! I had a vision of starting out with photos with the Redwoods in Muir Woods, then doing a ceremony at Muir Beach Overlook, and then ending with champagne and photos on Muir Beach, with a send off of jumping into the ocean. All within three hours and before the sun sets. Jake made it happen! He had vision and ideas for all three of these spots and made a legendary first look moment that incorporated our first date hike in that same spot. Even though it was an intimate wedding, I realized the value of having someone keep everyone on schedule, we really couldn't have made it to all these spots in such short time without him. Jake was prepared for everything and is full of creative, spontaneous ideas that made various moments completely unforgettable. I could go on forever about how wonderful Jake is, but one of my final favorite things about him was that he has the wit and timing of a stand up comedian. We were seriously cracking up the entire day, which made it so much easier both to enjoy our day and to act normally in front of a camera, something that is not my M.O.
Ash was such a lovely and calm presence to have while getting ready. She was so responsive to questions and ideas I had prior to the day. She brings a full and amazing set-up and made me feel like so subtly glamorous, really fitting the style of my dress. Her makeup job was so solid that after completely submerging into the Pacific Ocean, none of my makeup even hinted at budging!
The day before the wedding, after reflecting more on the fact that we couldn't have family and friends there due to COVID, I realized how special and important it would be to have video. So when I requested this the day before the wedding, Corey was all over it! He had so many solutions for getting good quality sound despite our windy outdoor spot. Like Jake and Ash, he also had such a lovely energy and a hilarious sense of humor, so it was a pleasure to spend so much of our day with him as well.
LOVE + WOLVES will completely take care of you on your big day, and will find numerous ways to make it epically special. That is reason enough to beam about them. Thennnn we got our preview photos (242 of them!) less than 24 hours later and they are s t u n n i n g.
Jake and the team at LOVE + WOLVES are talented, lovely, and so fun to work with. I truly cannot recommend them highly enough. -

We knew we loved Jake from our first family shoot with him when our toddler took off the clothes we’d picked out for the day and started running around the beach in his underwear- Jake was completely unfazed. He did an amazing job of making our kids feel comfortable and drawing out their personalities in photos. He reminded my partner and I to take moments as a couple, and captured all of our relationships beautifully amidst the toddler chaos.
When Jake later photographed our wedding he continued to remind us to take moments together and was attuned to everyone, which is why I think so many of his photos capture connection and don’t feel staged. We told Jake we cared most about candid moments/relationships in our photos, and he absolutely delivered. We got so much positive feedback from our family and wedding party about how comfortable Jake made them feel. He is professional and comes with a clear plan for the day based on your input, but also brings a sense of humor and warmth that puts others at ease and helps to them to be in the moment. He discretely and thoughtfully captured the ceremony and worked the party like a team of photographers despite shooting solo that day. We love the final photos and plan to reach out in the future for family photos and other life milestones.
We also had beauty with Ash and her team and could not recommend a better person for wedding glam. I was very nervous about booking this specifically because myself and the majority of my bridesmaids had shared stories about getting hair and makeup done for weddings that we ended up having to take off because it was completely overdone, or felt like we looked like strangers in photos later. I think we had 16 beauty services that day and every single person loved the finished product. Ash knew exactly what was needed for my hair and makeup to last and shine through in photos, while keeping it soft and subtle like I’d asked for. Her team asked for inspo pictures and took time to figure out what we wanted. They would check in throughout the process to see if we wanted more or less of some element. Ash was was grounding, warm, funny, and reminded me to take care of myself aka eat food.
In general Love and Wolves Co bring a perfect combination of experienced and down to earth vibes. They are a dream team and pleasure to work with! -

Top Takeaway: We have never met anyone more chill and yet more capable to get huge groups of people to do exactly what he needs them to do than Jake. He has both a commanding and totally natural presence. Jake is so organized, so experienced, and so aware of his surroundings that he can handle any strange hiccup – rain in the middle of a shoot? Missing a glass to stomp on? Jake sees it. Jake is on it. And he’s capturing every moment without a sweat to produce the most breathtaking photographs.
Prep Process: During our initial Zoom meeting with Jake, we shared our history as a couple and what we were hoping to capture on our wedding day: both the intimacy of knowing each other as long as we have, and the enormity of bringing together two (large) families and friends from many stages of life. Jake fully grasped the scale of the day, and we talked through exactly how we would achieve that. After we signed on together, Love & Wolves sent a detailed sheet for us to complete with the exact schedule of the day, inclusive of all three locations (hotel, first look location, and final venue), and a full shot list. To help prompt our thinking, they’d already filled out nearly every permutation of portraits we’d ever need. Their preparedness meant we could think more creatively about the shots we wanted, including large group photos of family and friends.
Creative & Execution: Jake has the highest observation and responsiveness skills I’ve ever witnessed. When he walked into my bridal suite on our wedding day to start shooting, I felt completely at ease. The professional was here, and everything was going to go smoothly. He knows how to read a room, a space, your face, your feelings, when to step in and step back. During our family portrait sessions, I felt a drop of rain, and my eyes quickly flicked up to the sky – Jake saw my reaction and immediately adjusted our pace to make sure we didn’t get caught in the downpour. Later, during our ceremony, just as my best friend was delivering her final remarks, a flock of geese emerged from the field behind us and flew overhead; it was a magical, gorgeous gift from the Earth, and Jake caught this serendipitous moment on camera.
Jake has unmatched instincts in recognizing tender moments and capturing them without being overtly intrusive. We experienced two particular moments that felt completely private to us in the moment; we were utterly surprised and pleased to see that they both showed up in our gallery, completely unbeknownst to us. My husband said, “These photos make our wedding look like the sickest, most fun, most epic wedding that’s ever happened.” This magical day is alive in my heart and head because of the photos Jake captured, and I cherish them deeply. -

Jake did both our engagement photo shoot and our wedding (along with Shannon on video). Starting with the engagement shoot, I was really nervous and he made us feel so at ease and comfortable in front of the camera. It helps that he is hilarious and insanely talented. The engagement shoot ended up being one of the best memories of the whole year for us. Fast forward to the wedding (80 people) - Jake was flexible, prompt, professional, and captured insanely gorgeous and diverse photos. His photography style highlights the beauty of little moments and never feels rehearsed or pre-planned. You don’t need a team of photographers for your wedding - you just need Jake. -

From the moment we started planning our wedding in beautiful Healdsburg, California, one of the easiest and best decisions we made was hiring Jake as our photographer.
His work truly speaks for itself—the 35MM film and Super 8 are absolutely breathtaking. His portfolio is stunning, but what really set him apart was how effortlessly he made us feel comfortable from our very first meeting. Throughout the entire process, Jake was thoughtful, intentional, and so easy to connect with.
When we received our final gallery, we were speechless. Every single photo, every frame of the Super 8 film, was pure magic. Each image felt like a work of art—timeless, emotional, and full of life. Watching the Super 8 film, it honestly feels like we're reliving the day all over again.
Jake took the time to really get to know us and understand the vision we had for our wedding. He asked thoughtful questions and made us feel like we were just hanging out with a friend, never out of our element. That kind of connection is rare and something we’ll always be grateful for.

Jake was so kind, warm, professional, and talented as he captured our elopement photos + video footage. We eloped at SF City Hall and he had such a familiarity with the layout of the building, that he was not only our photographer/videographer, but we all joked that he became our de facto Day-Of-Coordinator. He sincerely made the day go smoothly and put myself, my husband, and our two witnesses (my parents) at ease almost immediately because of his confidence in the space, while also ensuring that our needs/wants were met. We all had some nerves going into it, as we were somewhat unfamiliar with the building, posing options, office locations, etc. but Jake was a professional through and through. He added such a genuine, celebratory energy to an already exciting occasion. Jake’s thoroughness in terms of shot length/angle diversity also allowed us and my parents to be more fully present and not worry about taking our own photos/videos on our phones, which added to our collective presence in the experience. Our package included Photos + Super 8 + 35mm, but the Super 8 and 35mm were our absolute favorites. The colors, saturation, and variety of the action shots look so beautifully 90's and nostalgic in the best possible way :') he captured the wintery, Friday the 13th essence of our wedding in a way I can’t fully explain and we will cherish these photos + video for the rest of our lives. The video montage he created includes one of our favorite songs of all time and brings us to tears every time we watch it. We cannot recommend Love + Wolves Co enough, and we HIGHLY recommend purchasing the Super 8 and 35mm if possible! Shout-out to Jake fr! -

Jac at L+W was one of our favorite vendors. She was a total pro, and we trusted her from the very beginning. We didn't give her much direction or input about our aesthetic preferences, beyond a few adjectives, and she over-delivered -- our photos came out soooo gorgeous. On the day, she was a pleasure to work with -- quick and efficient, knocking out all the necessary family / wedding party shots and directing like a boss, then acting like a fly on the wall and grabbing some fun, spontaneous moments that are now immortalized. Most importantly, she made me (bride) feel and look my best :) Love + Wolves was super easy to communicate with, and they have great taste. Definitely recommend them for your special event. -

We were lucky to hire Jake and Ash for our photography and beauty for our wedding this past June 2024 and give them our highest recommendation!
Jake was our photographer for our engagement shoot and wedding, while Ash did my hair and makeup trial and for the big day. They are incredibly organized and professional while being very down to earth--just the kind of people you want to support you through this process.
It was important to us that our photographer capture the candid moments, like a "fly on the wall" approach, observing everyone and their surroundings. This is why we chose to work with Jake. For our engagement photos, my husband and I were initially nervous in front of the camera, but Jake knew how to make us comfortable and make the process fun. On our wedding day, he took incredible photos of us, candids of our friends and family, and beautiful scenic shots of the venue. One of my favorite shots is a black and white photo of us holding hands in front of a huge tree.
As for my hair and makeup, Ash made me feel like such a star! She asked for my preferences well in advanced and for me to send photos of my outfit and ideas. I wanted a warm, peachy dewey look to match our 70s vibe and she delivered! She did hair and makeup for my bridesmaids, niece, mother, and mother-in-law and everyone looked beautiful. She is truly talented and able to adapt to people's preferences of all ages.
Again, I cannot recommend Ash and Jake enough for your wedding needs! Book with them and you will be glad you did :) -

Ash and her team were amazing every step of the way. From the initial consultation call where she actually got to know me, my vision, and what was most important to me, I felt like I had a team of people who exactly what I was looking for. It was really important for me to find people who knew how to work with my skin tone, face structure, and hair (I'm half-Chinese and so are two of my family members, and the rest are full Chinese), and Ash could read my mind. She paired me with a HMU team (Sheri, Madison, and Korynn) that executed perfectly on the first try - during our trial, I had no notes (though I was definitely safe to have as many notes as I wanted!!). They were able to take my vague vision and adjectives and turn them into a reality. During the HMU process on my wedding day, I felt so calm and comfortable, and so did the rest of my family. Sheri did my hair and makeup and I couldn't have asked for anything better! She made me feel beautiful. Korynn met me at the venue and stayed the whole night - saving me from when my tears almost ruined my makeup and my sweaty dancing almost ruined my hair. Definitely go the extra mile to have a HMU person stay throughout the night for touch-ups and definitely hire Love and Wolves - they will take care of you every step of the way and make you feel authentically beautiful! -

We hired LOVE + WOLVES for photo services at our 2-day wedding. Jake was the very first vendor I spoke to, even before we had a venue or date. He was a standout from the beginning - his work was beautiful but he also sent me a few venue ideas (before I hired him) as we promised to keep in touch about dates as those details came together. This is just his personality and it translates to everything he does. Jake (and his darling assistant, Andy) have an excellent eye for authentic and magical moments. He is a warm and most curious person, which I think is what enables him to draw out moments that others might not. He was so deeply invested in our well-being, our families, our cultures, and in our story. We felt so at ease in front of his camera, which has not been our experience in the past. I found the Beauty & Wolves team through a friends’ wedding; they did a fantastic job highlighting my friends’ beauty and capturing their wedding in photography that is both hip and classic. It was no question that I would be lucky to have them participate in my wedding after seeing their work up close. I asked Ash and one of her teammates to do my wedding beauty (along with other members of the bridal party plus my husband, who has long hair) and she nailed it. She manages to enhance a person’s natural look while maintaining their personal style and them-ness. So much bridal makeup looks heavy, as if it were applied with a shovel. Ash’s makeup is light, natural, but so beautiful—I felt like I looked like I was glowing with radiant love, but still looked very much like me. Ash’s teammate did my husband’s hair and knocked it out of the park. He wanted a Viking-inspired look and was given an incredible fun, unique, badass half-up, half-down man bun with a fishtail braid. Not only did Ash and her teammate make us look our best, but they brought a very grounding, relaxed, peaceful presence to our morning. They were exceptionally professional, easy to work with, and mindful of our wants and needs. -

This is exactly who you need for your wedding
YOU'VE FOUND THE PHOTOGRAPHER FOR YOUR WEDDING! Trust me. LOVE + WOLVES CO is the absolute way to go. We had an awesome experience and you WILL NOT REGRET THEM.
We planned to tie the knot near Yosemite in February of 2024, but had second thoughts and decided to elope in New York during our trip in April. So, we booked LOVE + WOLVES CO. and everything was set. That was until we changed our minds again, and booked a last minute appointment at the courthouse in Marin.
The Love + Wolves Co. team was incredibly flexible with our new date and were super understanding throughout the entire process, which was a huge relief for us. We appreciated Jake's professionalism and easy-going nature, which made working with him a breeze. You could tell Jake was passionate about his work, and throughout our entire portrait session, he went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy, and really showed how creative someone can be in one place!
Our photos turned out freaking awesome! I'm super critical on who we hire to shoot because I'm a photographer myself. So, we wanted our wedding photos to be different from the typical cookie-cutter images that you see from most wedding photographers, and Jake delivered something so unique to us. The photos captured our personalities, emotions, and love for each other in a way that was authentic and true to who we are.
Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience with Love + Wolves Co. and Jake. I highly recommend Jake to anyone! He has so much attention to detail, and was super friendly throughout the whole process. Everything came together perfectly and they played a huge role in our successful day!

The Love + Wolves Co team has been the very welcome third wheel of my partner and my relationship for the past three years. They exceeded our expectations at every turn and we feel so so lucky to have gotten to work with them.
We first met Jake and Ash for engagement pictures in 2019. They have a creative and confident vibe working together and were so welcoming. I am not a big makeup wearer, but Ash did a great job of making me feel like a beautiful version of myself. Jake was really fun to work with—it felt like we had a friend tagging along for the day. Jake is incredibly talented and his pictures are wonderful. He can really capture the moment and can see light and perspective in a way that is truly unique. Every time we look back at our pictures, we find new ones to fall in love with.
Right away we knew we wanted to work with Love + Wolves again for our wedding. Jake and Ash were super helpful in coordinating, coming up with photo ideas, and planning travel for our dream wedding abroad. When COVID delt us the tough blow of having to cancel our plans, Jake and Ash rolled with the punches. They were incredibly flexible in canceling flights and were on board for our plan-b wedding on the California coast. Unfortunately, those plans fell through as well when a mudslide prevented us from accessing our venue.
This stint of bad luck seems ridiculous looking back on it, and we are so grateful to Jake and Ash for being the calm sounding boards we needed during this time. They helped us plan a last-minute elopement, which ended up being exactly what we didn’t know we needed. Ash did an incredible job with my hair and makeup. She had great suggestions with styling based on my dress (not my area of expertise), showed me how to wipe tears without smudging my makeup, and gave me a lipstick to use because I forgot mine. Jake captured every moment, riding in the back of our small Fiat along the twists and turns of highway 1 from Stinson Beach to Muir Woods. He helped us pick out photo locations and the pictures from the spot he picked on Mt. Tam are my absolute favorite to this day.
This past spring, we were finally able to celebrate our marriage with friends and family in Big Sur. Ash and her team did hair and makeup for our group exceeded all expectations. Ash has the best calming energy and she has a way of making everyone feel comfortable and beautiful. She did the most AMAZING hair flowers for me. I felt like a fairy woodland princess, which was a dream come true. Jake was wonderful at balancing all the photos we wanted to take with friends and family with candid shots of people, food, and all the little details. He found little areas around our venue when the light was just perfect to capture some really special moments.
You can’t go wrong hiring this team. They are professional, communicative, artistic, cool, and SO on top of things. They really are the best at what they do and we are beyond grateful that they were a part of our unexpectedly long marriage journey. -

What to say? Look no further than Love & Wolves Co. for out of this world wedding photography. Jake, Steph, and Ben brought a unique, fresh, & authentic aesthetic that (in my opinion) is incredibly difficult to find. No cheesy, staged wedding photos here! One review of their instagram and I knew this team was IT!
Hiring Jake & his team for photo and video was the best decision we made, and one that I felt confident about from the beginning. One thing I really appreciated was how incredibly collaborative and receptive Jake was to any ideas/inspo I had for our photos.
Our first meeting with Jake was to shoot our engagement photos. His warm presence immediately made us feel comfortable, as if we were old friends catching up. Everything about the shoot was super chill and good vibes. This made us super excited for our wedding day, as I knew we were in great hands.
On our wedding day, multiple people in our wedding party commented on how smoothly the group photos went - nothing was too long or drawn out, and even though I’ve only seen the preview, I am truly blown away by the magic Jake & his team were able to capture!

I could not be more grateful for the grounding and centering she offered up the morning of my wedding, not to mention, her AMAZING talent! Before the wedding, when we did a makeup trial, she was super responsive to feedback and suggested ideas for different lipstick colors (and the one I bought is now my favorite lipstick). She was super responsive, on time and helpful.

I met Jak, Love & Wolves owner, at my son’s 2017 international destination wedding. Jak was professional, friendly, and resulting photos were candid, artistic, and brilliant. They reflected a wedding photography style I had not seen before.
In 10/2018 after many years alone, I went online hoping to meet a companion. Instead I met the love of my life. In 02/2019, we got engaged and set the date for 04/2020.
A NYC L & W photographer shot our engagement photos on the Staten Island ferry and park. They were beautiful and used on our wedding save the date cards and invites.
L & W was scheduled to shoot our April 2020 wedding and provide beauty services. Unfortunately CoVid struck and our 04/2020 wedding was cancelled.
We rescheduled for 12/2020. Jak was great to work with for the new date. We sent our new save the dates and invites with a L & W engagement photo. We also expanded our package to ensure that Jak was our specific photographer. Best decision!!
In 10/2020, our venue cancelled our December wedding. We secured a new venue but had to reduce the number of guests Jak and the team were right there with us.
More New York City CoVid restrictions were enacted. The new venue cancelled!!!
We decided we would marry on the scheduled date in the living room with just family. Once again Jak and his team were there for us. Although he could not fly in, he sent a NYC photographer and a beauty team that beautifully captured our intimate wedding. Not many people have a wedding photo of a laptop with a zoom meeting on the screen reflecting their children in full wedding attire and gourmet dinners in front of them to join us.
Love & Wolves made our day special.
When there were no CoVid restrictions on the venue operations we scheduled the big church wedding and reception. After we confirmed Jak’s and Loves and Wolves availability, we set the date to May 2022!!!!
The weekend arrived. Jak was there as friendly, professional, and efficient as ever. He made sure those “must” photos were captured. And then Jak did what Jak does best, he captured people candidly. Most photos have no one or only one person looking directly at the camera. He captured the love, joy, and vibe of the party, the guests, and us.
Only 2 weeks after the wedding, we received the preview photos. They were fantastic.
I printed enough photos that each of our guests received at least one photo of them at the wedding in their thank you card. Such positive feedback was received. People loved it.
Last week, I received the final photographs. They were absolutely everything I thought they would be. It took me a week to break down the photos into separate family folders. These I shared electronically with my guests.
The guests were thrilled with the photos and the ability to order them.
Now my husband and I have the impossible task of selecting photos for our album. Between the engagement and weddings, we have 3000+ photos.
It’s too hard. They are too good.
We Highly Highly recommend Loves & Wolves.

We hired Jake and Ash for our photography and beauty needs for both our San Francisco City Hall ceremony and our upcoming wedding reception in 2023 after they were recommended to us by a friend. This was the absolute best decision we could have made.
I started the day with Ash. She has such good energy, and it was so calming and grounding to start the day with her. She also was such a champ and came out to our house early because of our early ceremony time. She made me feel like an absolute goddess and created a look for me where I felt gorgeous and like myself at the same time. In particular, I loved the flower crown that she created for me. The makeup look she did felt natural (not heavy) and looked amazing in photos. It was truly fun to spend time with her.
Next, Jake met us at the front of City Hall. It was so helpful that he had photographed here before, knew the lay of the land, and helped us feel relaxed as we checked in and prepared for our ceremony. He, like Ash, has a great and fun energy and felt like a friend right away. It was legitimately fun hanging out with him, and our families loved him as well. He knew all of the perfect spots in the building to take photos. After he captured the pure joy of our ceremony, he took us to the San Francisco Botanical Gardens where we took some more pictures that are just as stunning as our City Hall photos.
It is impossible to express how happy we are with the photos and the way we look in them. They capture the love we have as a couple and the fun and happy feelings we felt that day. We look at them often and they make us so happy. This was an amazing investment and experience, and we are so excited to work with Jake and Ash again in 2023. If you are considering this amazing duo, go ahead and book them - you absolutely will not regret it.

Jake & the team at LOVE + WOLVES are the BEST! Working with Jake, Kevin, and Ben was one of the most seamless and pleasant parts of our wedding weekend. An unbelievable team!
Hire this team. I’m serious. My husband and I still cannot believe how much Jake and Ash did for us and with us to help make our wedding the most incredible day. We hired Jake to take photos, and also hired Ash to help with design and beauty, and YOU GUYS. THEY KILLED IT! They were so much more than a photography and design team for us. They felt like old friends, pushing and guiding us to have the very best wedding.
Jake made our whole wedding party feel so comfortable. He was so creative and spontaneous, getting the most incredible shots that we never even could have imagined getting. He also advocated for us when things got stressful and really made sure we were happy and present all day.
And ASH! What a QUEEN. We hired Ash as our designer and she came through in every possible way. We had many, many calls where she and I just bounced ideas off of each other. She helped me to find things that I couldn’t have found on my own and she was super inspiring with so much of our decor and vibe. She stayed so true to our retro, groovy vision and made it so much more than it would’ve been if we hadn’t worked with her. She also did hair and beauty for my bridal party and myself, and WOW. My girls glowed and felt so confident and really looked like themselves, which was so important to me. And I have never looked more beautiful. Truly. I was so happy.

We were living in New York when we got engaged, and moved to California where we got married. Thank GOD we found Love & Wolves Co.! We were able to have the wonderful Hannah shoot our engagement photos, and had Jac with us on our wedding day. We ended up with some of the most wonderful pictures we could have imagined for both of those days. And in the background, Jake was communicating with us along the way and steering the ship for his amazing team. The photo editing is BEYOND incredible — the vibe that you end up getting through the photos is like nothing else. Our friends and family cannot stop talking about them, and neither can we! After an incredibly stressful wedding year for vendors, Jake and his team were nothing if not professional, timely, and so so talented. I can't say enough about how wonderful Love & Wolves was to work with. Ash did my styling for all wedding events as well as my hair and makeup for the rehearsal and wedding day. From the first time I talked to her, she made me feel so comfortable and even more excited for the events to come! She takes the time to really get to know you, your style and then works to build a look that is 100% you - just elevated. Ash finds styles that I would never have been able to discover! She found looks that were so unique, I had people messaging me for weeks asking where I got the pieces she found. Not only is she is an insanely talented stylist, but she is an equally skilled one woman glam squad. I swear to you, I have never liked my hair and makeup when I have had it done in the past. But with Ash, I always looked like myself, just the best possible version. She is up on the latest trends to, so feel free to bring her Pinterest inspiration - but she will ALWAYS level it up with inspiration straight off this seasons runway. On the day of the wedding, she brought a team of wonderful professionals who were efficient, so kind and super talented. They made getting through a group of 14 women look like no big deal- and had a great time doing it, which was important to me as well!

Run don’t walk to book love+wolves co for photo+beauty and honestly all emotional support and extreme care, thoughtfulness and kindness for your wedding. Jake and Ash GET IT DONE. They were SO flexible with our covid changes and we ended up using them both for our micro wedding (and can not wait to see them again for our reception next year!)
We got stuck with a cold and rainy Memorial Day, and our photos look like it was the most beautiful day of the year! Jake made us feel so comfortable and sent over the most stunning photos the next morning … I’m pretty sure he’s a magician. Ash totally GOT ME immediately and my hair was so special and honestly the talk of the day. They feel like old friends we have known forever and you’ll probably want to add them to your guest list. Oh my goodness--where do I even begin with Ash and her team at Love + Wolves!!
I reached out to Ash because her website promised I would feel like a goddess--and she delivered. I have never felt more beautiful and more importantly, like myself, than on my wedding day. Ash and her team did an incredible job making me and my wedding party feel amazing, and it truly felt like we had three extra girlfriends there to share in the fun of getting ready!
We had to postpone our wedding three times due to the pandemic, and Ash was so responsive, helpful, and understanding in moving with us. I'm so glad she and her team were able to work with us on our final date because I could not imagine having a better experience. It was so important to me to feel like myself on my wedding day, and Ash did a fantastic job working with me to select hair and makeup looks that would do just that--but elevated!

It's difficult to put into words just how much I would recommend Love + Wolves for your wedding. My (now) husband and I threw together an elopement with our immediate families 5 or so weeks in advance and I had my eyes on Love + Wolves the moment we set the date in stone. We were both a bit nervous to deal with vendors in general in such a short time frame, but both Jake and Ash (the co-founders) made this experience the best-case-scenario possible.
We had an introductory call with them to get to know each other before anything was set in stone, and I felt like this was such a nice touch to make us comfortable with the entire shebang. We immediately clicked and I just knew we would be in good hands. Because this was all planned so soon in advance, Nate and I were a bit frazzled in terms of finalizing day-of details...Jake and Ash saved us. The entire process from start to finish was legitimately stress free (I'm not exaggerating, I swear). They were both so enthusiastic and kept emphasizing that they were there for us if we needed anything, even offering help in coordinating the days events.
Ash and her colleague did 4 women's hair and makeup along with mine. Everyone had a totally different style they were going for, and Ash + team freakin' NAILED IT. Everyone looked their absolute best, and in their own way -- myself included. I'm always hesitant about getting hair and makeup done because I was worried I wouldn't look like myself (I'm sure this is a common feeling). When I saw myself in the mirror I just could not stop smiling. I had brought a couple of different options for hair pins, and Ash mixed and matched them in a really stunning way. To top it off...I needed help getting into my dress and none of the family could be found (ha). I started to mildly panic but there was Ash, with her calm and collected presence, ready to get me into my dress and to the first look :) It might not seem like a big deal, but I won't ever forget that act of kindness.
And then there was Jake. Nate and I have always been an awkward pair when it comes to PDA and taking photos (also, socializing is hard in 2020!!). This was a complete non-issue with Jake. It felt like he just...understood us. He guided us through the magic of the day without being invasive and he was seriously just such a pleasure to work with. His excitement and enthusiasm is contagious. Our families were just as obsessed with him (they're still raving about it). He captured everyone's presence and personality perfectly. His shots are just insane. ALSO, he sent us a preview album the NEXT DAY with 200+ photos. P.S. one of my favorite things -- when Jake would ask us to try something out for a cool photo op, and then he'd look at his camera and squeal from excitement :) When I saw how those photos turned out in the preview, I, too, squealed.
They're both straight up magicians. I don't know how else to put it. Their professionalism, their personability, and frankly, badassery just cannot be matched. Jake and Ash take their craft and the aesthetic of their brand very seriously and it very clearly shows. I've already recommended their services to every one of my friends who are engaged. Us, like so many 2020 couples had to cancel our large wedding (in Sonoma) due to Covid-19 and with that our original Photographer also backed out. But this is not a sad story! We decided to still go through with an intimate San Francisco wedding in Golden Gate Park and immediately reached out to Love + Wolves and we lucked out that Jake was still available.
With a month's notice, Jake was amazing and easy to work with and kept emphasizing that "love isn't cancelled". He was so helpful and communicated often the weeks leading up to our wedding and on the day of, he made us feel completely at ease.
Our wedding was absolutely perfect and Jake captured it beautifully. We will treasure the pictures and memories forever! -

We used LOVE + WOLVES for our wedding for makeup/hair, photography, videography and the photo booth- and we loved them all! I cannot say enough great things about them. We are so so happy we decided to book them for our wedding.
From the beginning, Jake + Ash were both very responsive and personable through email and on the phone. We wanted beautiful photos/video that were casual yet beautiful and an actual representation of the day, not staged and we got just that! The photos and video are just amazing...in the woods/fog, under the full moon... I mean what?! Even better than we even imagined!
Jake/Corey were super friendly to all the guests, getting to know the names of all our bridesmaids/groomsmen and parents and super energetic. They literally got the most amazing shots.
Ash- was such a calm, chill presence to the day. She made me (the bride) feel so beautiful, yet so myself. She also had a lot of good recommendations for hair styles, makeup ideas, and styling for my bridesmaids which was very helpful.
If you have the opportunity/funds, we highly recommend renting the photobooth and getting all the fun props! So many of our friends/family brought the props to the dance floor- which made for some good fun and also great photos!

The Best It Gets
If you are reading this review because you’re toying with the idea of hiring Love and Wolves Co. just stop right here and HIRE THEM. No, seriously. If they’re not available on your wedding date, CHANGE YOUR WEDDING DATE. Obviously it’s the best to have a wedding because it means you get to marry your best friend, but when it means you get to work with and share your day with people who will be your friends for years to come, it really doesn’t get any better than that. From our first phone call with Jake, we knew it was meant to be. There was just something about Love and Wolves Co. that seemed special and unique and there was something inside that told us that if we didn’t lock it down, we would regret it.
I think my mom actually put it best when she said that their “pics beautifully capture the incredible love and energy of the day’”. If you’re looking for traditional and stuffy photographs, Love and Wolves is NOT your soulmate photographer, but if you’re looking for someone to be there to make you feel the most comfortable on the best day of your life and have photographs that literally freeze time and are beyond beautiful to boot, book them IMMEDIATELY.
People told me about a "post-wedding depression" and trust me, I don't have any desire to plan another wedding but man oh man we wish we had another excuse to be together with them again.
Something we will remember forever was driving in the car with Jake and Ash to our wedding venue, listening to music and having the light streaming in through the break in the autumnal leaves, holding my future husband’s hand and just being so truly, purely happy. Jake and Ash (and the rest of their wolfpack) will hold a special place in our hearts forever. -

I'm not sure where to even begin. From the first conversation with Jake, I knew he was the photographer for us. We both already loved his aesthetic but after talking to him, we found out he was also very cool and would bring the kind of energy that we needed on our wedding day. I also didn't hesitate to hire Ash for my make-up - her style was exactly what I was looking for, focusing on bringing out each bride's natural beauty vs. making someone look like a completely different person with tons of contour, etc. I can't say enough good things about both of them. They are an amazing team, so professional, so cool, just so wonderful. There was definitely some stress the day of our wedding (I mean, of course) - the weather wasn't great, some people were stressing both of us out, and we had to switch around the schedule slightly - but because they were both so wonderful, I was so chill which is a HUGE deal for me. I don't usually know how to chill. Natalie was our second shooter for the day and she was so kind and lovely and also such a calming presence to have around. I was bummed we didn't get to spend more time with her! On top of just being amazing people, they are all so good at what they do and our photos are STUNNING. I think I screamed when I saw the highlights. I can't even imagine having perfect sunny weather now because the photos fit us and the day so perfectly - gloomy and moody and wintery. I am so excited to see the rest of our photos. HIRE THEM IMMEDIATELY. I wish I could hire them to photograph and make me up every day of my life. -

Ash and her team were unbelievable from start to finish in this process. Planning a wedding can be stressful and hair and makeup is a really personal part and sets the mood for your day just as much as helps you look your best. This was one area I was beyond grateful to choose her- from having the most chill fun makeup trial to help thinking through and navigating tricky family dynamics her vibe is only surpassed by her skills.
Most importantly, I looked and felt exactly like myself. She nailed a more natural makeup look and helped me live my flowers throughout my hair dream. Ash and the Love + Wolves co. beauty were absolutely fantastic. Super fast, professional, and laid back - all things that helped balance out the stress of a wedding day. Not only did they complete all of my bridesmaids, me, and the moms/grandma, but they did the grooms hair as well. Everything was organized seamlessly and the communication couldn't have been better. Additionally, it was sooooo important to me that my makeup looked natural on my wedding day and I could not have been happier with how everything turned out. I was having trouble at first with makeup groups in the area because I did not want "prom styled colors and updos" If you don't know what I mean, bless you! BUT once I found Ash's team, I was instantly relieved that my golden hued, pinky nature tones would be enhanced on our big day. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with our beautifying people, they were amazing and so kind! CHOOSE THEM. -

Running With The Wolves
I am not going to bore you with a bunch of general comments on how wonderful our wedding was or how "everything worked like clockwork"... that's obvious. I do however will tell you about the amazing duo that is Jake & Ash.
The 1880 Union Hotel in Los Alamos, CA, seemed to serve as the perfect canvas for both Ash (who was in charge of Hair and Make-up) and Jake (photography).
They both made us feel like a King and Queen for the entire day, and focused on capturing every REAL moment of our wedding day. If I could, I would turn back time and relive it all over again without changing a thing!

The entire Love + Wolves staff was super helpful in setting us up with a photo package for our wedding in the Catskills (if they had video then, I would have been 100% on top of that). Natalie did our engagement photos throughout Brooklyn which were insane, she captured us in a way that felt authentic and flattering (thank you!). I honestly don't know how Natalie captured all the photos that she did on our wedding day- maybe a super power but she was everywhere! She captured my entire requested shot list and candids of my friends and family that were always thoughtful not just clicks on the camera. I hope I have the opportunity to work with Love + Wolves in the future, their aesthetic is so fresh in an industry of airbrush and overly staged shots. -

One of the best decisions we made in terms of planning our wedding was working with Love + Wolves for photography and beauty. From the beginning, communication with Jake and Ash was clear and easy - they knew what they are doing and talk to you like an old friend.
As the wedding weekend arrived we felt immediately at ease with both Jake and Ash. Ash completely understood the looks I was going for and made me feel like a movie star version of myself (and I also heard this many times!). She has perfect advice for wedding day jitters and anything else you didn't even think of.
Jake was incredible, caught the most amazing shots and didn't make my fiance and I feel awkward at all because everything was so candid. Jake seems to let the place and day take him to the best shots. I could go on forever on how fabulous everything was, but do yourself a favor and work with these two to see for yourself! -

When it came down to our wedding priorities, photography was our top, after venue. I thought it would be pretty easy to find something to our liking, until we started looking online...that's when we were bombarded with cheesy, unnaturally lit and awkward photos. The cheese was unreal, and definitely not our style. If you're not genuinely smiling 24 hours a day, why do all your photos have to be of you smiling? Sometimes I'm not smiling, and I like that to be captured too. We love photos that capture authentic moments and it seemed that was hard to find. That's when I found Love+Wolves Co. Im not sure how I came across it, but I'm sure their unique company name got my attention. Welp, Jake IS A MF GENIUS. My new husband and I are not natural in front of a camera...we are quite awkward. But Jake somehow was able to take THE BEST photos ever. He just walks with you, talks to you, and then BAM, he takes a photo that later comes out to be the best MF photo ever. Even if he made us pose, he didnt force us to be fake. Not only did he capture us wonderfully, but his photos also beautifully captured the environment we were in. Every photo seemed like it came from a different scene of my favorite movie. Every photo is a piece of art. Well-captured, well-edited, unique, fun, and simply amazing.
Jake was also one of the people who was there for me almost the entire wedding. I was an emotional wreck. Things went wrong. People were nowhere to be found. Except Jake. He was like my wedding angel/therapist/friend/bartender/comedian/etc. When I needed a cocktail so badly, he got me one. When I needed a moment to myself and away from everyone, he made it happen. When I needed to laugh, he cracked a joke. I am forever grateful.
I also hired Jake's wife, Ash, and her team to do hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids. I also work with my husband, so I was ecstatic to find out Jake's wife did HMU. Well Ash and her team made us look AMAZING. It was not overpowering, and really came out beautiful in photos!!! Ash also has this presence about her that is very calming, and just a beautiful soul. Im not sure why the hell I was such a mess, but I think i was on the verge of having a break down. Ash helped keep me calm by talking me through it and just shutting it down.
My husband, who is super down to earth, calm, and collected...well he had a fun day, but for me, who is an introvert with high anxiety and unmanageable stress, that day was a blur and kinda like a dream. But when it all came to an end, the thing that made me so happy is that we not only have the MOST amazing photos to look back on forever, but we have also found great friendship in Jake & Ash. They are the best people who deserve everything great in this world! -

Jake and Ash from Love + Wolves Co are absolutely AMAZING! They flew to Malaysia with us to shoot our wedding back in 2015. And most recently, Jake did a family shoot with our newborn baby. Jake truly is one of the most talented photographers we've ever worked with. He is a natural, has a keen eye for the right angles and will find beauty in any occasion. It really is a joy to see the outcome of his shoots. And Ashley is his best partner. She did my hair and makeup for our wedding and I couldn't be more pleased. On top of that, she has great attention for detail and was there to call out the little things that change a picture such as a stray hair in my face or slight repositions. We really loved working with both Jake and Ash and couldn't rave about them more! -

amazing team with unique style
We're so happy with our decision to work with Love + Wolves for our camp wedding last August! Photography was one thing that we were pretty picky about, and we were beyond excited to find L+W through a prior wedding at our venue. We LOVED their unique, raw style.. it just didn't feel like any other wedding photography we had seen. We worked with Natalie + Keith on the day-of, and they were both lovely. They brought a calm presence to a hectic day, and were also just fun to be around (we had several guests say the same!). We had decided to forgo engagement photos and add some extra time on the day-of, and Natalie went above and beyond, capturing extra photos late into the night - even beyond the hours we had scoped. We also had some sensitivity around photos given family members with disabilities, and Natalie was super accommodating and thoughtful throughout. I was antsy to get photos afterward and we did have to wait a few months before receiving any, but they were so worth the wait. The team did an amazing job at capturing the vibe of our untraditional setting (and the dance floor photos are truly epic). Highly recommend working with Love + Wolves!! -

Amazing Team
I worked with Love + Wolves and Love + Wolves beauty for the photography and hair / make up for my wedding in New York in December of 2018. To sum up my experience: it was an absolute pleasure from the minute we spoke on the phone, up to the delivery of the photos.
Jake, Ash, Alyssa and Nathalie were all very involved, professional, positive and form an extremely talented team.
Nathalie, who was our photographer on the Day-Of, has a special talent. She is creative and has an excellent eye for spots that make beautiful pictures. She is very calm and it was a pleasure to have her around us.
Alyssa and Ash took care of the make up and hair. I have to say that the result was awesome ! They listened to me and made me feel beautiful.
We received a preview of our pictures very shortly after the wedding which was a very nice surprise ! Now that we have received all of our beautiful pictures I can't recommend Love and the Wolves enough. -

We hired Love & Wolves Beauty for hair & makeup for 11 bridesmaids. I was referred to Ash, and already knew by the company name that she would be perfect. I told Ash that I don't like getting my makeup done, because I never recognize myself after. She knew exactly what I meant, and during our trial, did a very natural but beautiful boho look. She is so easy to talk to and arrived with her team exactly on time the morning of the wedding. They did an incredible job. We all had natural makeup, long loose waves/curls, and then they secured our flower crowns, and were so much fun the whole time. They did an incredible job on everyone's makeup. I was stunned at everyone's beauty. I was so impressed at how Ash did my hair and makeup. I looked and felt like myself, but 10x more beautiful! She knew how to emphasize our beauty without caking/overdoing it on makeup. I highly recommend her for your hair and makeup! -
