Josh is a knowledgeable, friendly, and versatile DJ. He came to the table with thoughts but was also very receptive to our ideas. He gave us lots of face time throughout the process and made us feel very comfortable the whole time. He was a great MC, and provided top notch sound control/support during our (complicated) ceremony. His set-up (and uplighting) was visually appealing, and allowed for a lot of customization. The add-on of having the ceremony’s audio recorded was a nice touch that was an alternative to spending $ on a videographer. Book with confidence! -

Love & Light Entertainment recently provided their services to my wife's and my wedding, and we were more than pleased. From our initial communication with Joshua - and subsequent emails and chats - to working with Lynn (our partial coordinator, the best!), the process was very smooth. Both Joshua and Lynn were extremely helpful for the duration of planning; always open for questions, took the time to talk with us regarding what we wanted (or what might not work), and worked with us to ensure all the logistics and details were just right.
We highly recommend Love and Light Entertainment, whether you're looking for a wedding vendor or event contributor. We loved working with Joshua and Lynn, and are thankful for their assistance, patience, professionalism, and support throughout the wedding planning journey. -

Do yourself a favor and choose Love & Light Entertainment!
We do not have enough lovely words to say to describe what an absolute treasure Josh, and Love & Light Entertainment are! Before helping us envision, coordinate, and execute our wedding celebrations. Josh was first and foremost a friend. As a professional he absolutely exceeded all expectations and truly had such an attention to detail, an aspect to the planning process that we did not yet have. Josh was creative, knowledgable, and extremely easy to talk to when the days arrived. He knew exactly what he needed to do, and did so without hesitation. We are SO grateful to have had him in our village during this journey. Words cannot do justice!
Don't contemplate going with any other company for your wedding or next event and just book Love & Light Entertainment. -

Excellent experience with Josh!
Josh is an incredible DJ! Not only was he able to incorporate a lot of guest requests into his set, but his song choices kept the dance floor poppin' despite the fact that we had a relatively small guest count! In planning, he takes great care in making sure he's clear on what your vision is and what he can do to help support it. Josh has a television on the front of his DJ booth that he was able to utilize in a ton of creative and helpful ways. Using a QR code, our guests were able to send him photos (both historical pics and photos people were taking at the wedding itself) to display on his booth, which was an awesome way to make the wedding interactive and light. We also displayed our childhood photos on the screen throughout the night (in between the guest submission photos) which was an endearing touch -- he really is able to do so many things with his setup that can be tailored to the theme/colors/energy of your wedding. But the BIGGEST thing that we loved about having the TV on his booth is that he was able to display a video toast from a veryyyyy dear friend that wasn't able to make it to the wedding. It was absolutely incredible and we appreciated it so much. 10000000% recommend working with Josh! -

We cannot say enough good things about Love & Light Entertainment. Josh and Lynn truly went above and beyond any of our expectations to ensure that we had a successful wedding. Getting married in a tropical storm is rare around the DC area, so to say that there were many firsts is an understatement. Despite the technical and logistical challenges of having a wedding in the middle of a tropical storm, Josh and Lynn still delivered. Our wedding was held on board a boat as well which added to the complexity of their set up and clean up. True to their words during our last meeting before the event, they made sure we had nothing to worry about.
They even took up duties that were not assigned to them all to help out a frantic groom and bride make last minute adjustments. Without being prompted, they both did an amazing job controlling the crowd, recording the audio, keeping us on schedule, as well as keeping the party going. Even being cheerleaders in a tropical storm to an obviously stressed out couple. In terms of the more orthodox aspects of the job, Josh and Lynn did everything flawlessly. From the decorations, to the announcements, to the music - everything flowed seamlessly as if they were reading our minds throughout the entire event. In the months leading up to the event, Josh was always responsive and receptive to our ideas. A true professional who held the highest standards of customer service.
We wholeheartedly recommend Love & Light Entertainment to anyone looking for an amazing team to help you with your event. We are so thankful to have met such wonderful people who we hope to work with again should we have another event in the future! -

Highly recommend booking Love & Light Entertainment. We hired Josh for our wedding and we have no regrets about it. Josh from the very first intro call to the post wedding follow up emails was the most professional DJ you could ask for. He is so knowledgeable about his craft and always willing to answer any questions or help you out in any way. He has designed a really nice website to help make the process easier and this shows how much time he has put into his work. He was super engaging throughout the day and we even loved dancing at his table with him, just the 3 of us, during the reception. He just bought a new DJ table which can display text or logo on it and that was a cool addition. Also, strongly recommend the cold sparks which added so much to our first dance and other moments throughout the night. -

Highly recommend Josh! Very organized leading up to the wedding day with an online portal for event details and to input song requests. He did a fabulous job at the wedding reading the crowd and keeping the party going. -

We worked with Josh of Love and Light Entertainment for our wedding, and we had such a great experience! Leading up to the wedding, Josh was in constant contact with us to ensure he had the details of our big day worked out. He was professional and kind, and truly just a fun guy to work with. Bonus points for being a Veteran Owned Small Business! We had to make changes to the ceremony music last minute and he adapted perfectly. My groom and I are very picky about music and are not big fans of traditional wedding reception music – Josh killed it! He paid attention to all our “must play” and “do not play” songs. Also..he is a REAL DJ. He did not just stand up there and click a button to move from song to song..this guy read the crowd and the energy, he mixed songs, he got people dancing. Our reception music was something I was really worried about during our planning phase and my expectations were far exceeded. He recorded our vows, our wedding party introductions, and our speeches and had the audio back to us almost immediately. I would work with him again on any event! Thank you so much, Josh! -

100/10 recommend for your DJ (with a little day-of coordination) needs
Josh was an excellent choice for our wedding! Our guests raved that the music selection was great. As a bride and groom born in the late 80s/early 90s, we asked Josh to lean on music of the late 90s/early 00s mixing in some oldies and music from today to get everybody dancing, and he did just that. We had a party filled with folks on the dance floor all night—including family you wouldn’t normally expect to see let loose out there.
Beyond just the music selection, Josh was great at keeping the timeline of the party going. I chose not to go with a day-of coordinator or wedding planner, instead managing a lot of the details myself. I was able to give Josh a timeline of the day, and especially the reception, and he followed it to a tee—always coming to check-in first to make sure we were ready to move on in a couple minutes—whether to speeches, cake cutting, or even just from the cocktail reception to actual reception and dinner. Because of Josh’s organization and all around excellent DJ-ing, as a Type A bride, I was able to let go and just enjoy our day. -

Love and Light did an amazing job with the music and lighting during the ceremony, dinner, and dancing. Joshua took our musical tastes into consideration while adding in our guest's requests. The music was enjoyed by guests of all ages and the dance floor stayed busy all night. As an extra bonus, Joshua shot several videos of our guests dancing with his GoPro, which was a wonderful way to revisit the night. During our planning process, he was very responsive and helpful and met with us multiple times to make sure we had everything ready for our day. We can’t recommend Love & Light Entertainment enough! -

Josh did a spectacular job! He kept us all on schedule and made great music selections. Folks were on the dance floor all night! Josh also provided gorgeous up lighting at the Ceremony and Reception site. Additionally, Josh set up for music & a microphone at the Ceremony site. He was prompt, timely, and easy to work with. -

Josh was the DJ for our wedding and he was absolutely AMAZING! Not only did he provide the audio for our outdoor wedding ceremony, but he hosted the party of our lives. I was so worried that my guests would not dance or let loose, but Josh did a fantastic job of making that happen. He was extremely easy to communicate with. He made us feel at ease during the planning process and on the day of. He kept track of the timeline so that we didn’t have too. He was also incredibly flexible when last minute changes that came up. He honestly felt more like a guest at the wedding because of how much he genuinely cared! One extra plus is that Love and Light is fairly priced and Veteran owned. If you need a DJ for your wedding, call Love and Light! -

Josh did a great job with the DJ services for our wedding! He was friendly, professional, and very accommodating of our vision and budget. He was also very welcoming to us a queer couple.
In addition to doing a great job with the sound, the lighting and photo slideshow effects that we used were super cool and our guests were very impressed. We found the planning portal easy to navigate and it helped us think of many things we might have otherwise overlooked.
We originally hadn't planned on hiring a DJ, but I am very glad that we did. I highly recommend Love & Light Entertainment!
