After our first meeting, we discovered that she also offered partial planning services, and we could not be happier that we decided to work with her in both capacities. Throughout our planning and on the big day itself, Evelyn was warm, cheerful, thoughtful, and organized. Evelyn was our officiant (and hype queen) for our October 2022 wedding at the Cork Factory Hotel. She was absolutely incredible in every way. She had so many resources to offer that helped us create our CUSTOM ceremony. It was so meaningful and truly captured every bit of who we are as a couple. She was super helpful at the rehearsal and on wedding day and was completely on top of everything marriage license (reminder to apply, suggestion to bring to rehearsal, to having everything ready to go day of and promptly submitting on our behalf). She not only handled the ceremony and license but she just radiates kindness and was such a pleasure to work with! -

Evelyn did everything we asked for and more at our wedding! She officiated and helped us create the perfect script for our vow renewal. She made sure our decorations were all set up and helped bring our vision to life. We didn't have to worry about the little things because Evelyn was there to make sure everything was handled. Evelyn and her assistant packed everything up at the end of the night and made sure it got in our cars. 1000% would not have been able to plan our wedding if we did not have Evelyn there to help us. Evelyn was absolutely incredible throughout the upcoming months to the wedding and during our ceremony. She sent us several scripts and ideas of intros, vows, and outros. We mixed them together and created our own special piece. She read it beautifully and even stepped away while announcing us as husband and wife. I could not imagine a more perfect ceremony. We hired Evelyn for our wedding in Glen Mills, PA, and the experience was absolutely incredible. She walked us through every step of the way during the planning and ceremony-script process, and was able to introduce custom parts into our script.

Evelyn is an amazingly kind person & made our big day a dream come true!
We honestly cannot put into words how forever grateful we are for Evelyn of Love & Laughter Weddings! We are so fortunate to have met and been married by such a kind, sweet, and loving individual. Evelyn was so incredibly helpful and responsive from the very moment we messaged her. Our original plans were interrupted by COVID and Evelyn was able to marry us in a small, intimate ceremony with only about 2 weeks notice! She worked with us to write a ceremony/vows that fit us specifically and when she sent them to us ahead of time, we both cried just reading them! And even though I had read the vows multiple times before the ceremony, I still cried during the ceremony, it was so beautifully and thoughtfully written. She spoke every word with such love and happiness, and you could feel how truly genuinely happy she was for us! We got so many compliments about the ceremony afterwards! And she is even there for us still after the ceremony for any help we may need with things like the name changing process. We will be forever grateful to Evelyn for giving us an indescribably perfect day—it was a fairytale dream come true! -

Evelyn was our officiant and she did a great job. She is super responsive and great at answering any questions you have along the way. She also made things simply by sending sample ceremonies and readings. This was much appreciated, as planning a wedding can be extremely hectic. Evelyn was able to personalize our ceremony and truly delivered on our wedding day. She listened to what we wanted and our ceremony was memorable and sweet. She arrived on time, helped fill out the necessary paperwork and did an all around amazing job. Our ceremony was meaningful and just what we wanted as a couple. -

Happy memorable ceremony
Evelyn was so great! She was super responsive to every email I sent her. She made the process so easy by sending me sample ceremonies and readings. But what I really appreciated was that she made it personal. I wrote to her about our relationship and what the marriage means to us as a couple, and she turned it into a beautiful and memorable ceremony. She also made the day easy by finding me ahead of time to sign the license and her personality even calmed my nerves at the altar. Our ceremony was happy and meaningful without being cheesy, drawn out, or overly serious. She is very talented at figuring out what you as a couple want, and delivering 100%!! -

The ceremony we selected matched us perfectly, and the readings she provided helped to tie everything together. We were able to set up a face-to-face meeting with her in Philly prior to the wedding, and she also came out to our rehearsal to make sure we were comfortable with everything. So disappointed on all fronts. I had already been burned by a planner taking my deposit and ghosting me, I was so excited to just put out the extra expense and work with someone professional who specializes in dark moody weddings. And bonus, we got along! Unfortunately I'm feeling the same kind of whiplash, a sudden feeling of being ripped off again. Like most brides, this is the first time I've done this so I needed help from someone who knows the gritty details and how things actually come together. If it weren't for guidance and help from my own family and friends, this wedding never would've happened. I feel like I had very little to practically no support from my planner and her assistant, especially the day before and day of our wedding. Leading up there was tons of communication between her and I which was great! She helped secure my caterer, my cake, and even helped look up some florists and got me in on candle rentals. But that's kinda where the help stopped. Thats ok I guess. It wasn't easy for me to organize a huge event while working 50-60 hours a week, 10 hours away, but I got everything lined up, did my diy, booked tons of fun vendors dj, photobooth, caricature artist, facepaint, live ceremony music, even a hearse. She struggled for over a week just to secure a hotel, but I managed to get it done on a 10 minute smoke break at work with no complications. Between her and the caterer they couldn't even get a table layout until maybe two weeks before the event despite me asking for one for months.
We chatted about every little detail, which admittedly was a lot, but she seemed to be totally on board for the over-the-topness I had in mind. I don't know what notes were being taken on the other side to help keep the details straight, but I know I asked her if she thought one assistant was enough, explaining this is going to be a large amount to decorate, especially after she suggested I do 125 candles instead of a wedding archway (only a few candles made it to the ceremony site, couldn't even see them, not sure why they all weren't out there like I thought they were going to be). She assured me that with some help from my people she'd be fine. I knew my people would be ready and willing to help, but no one anticipated they would have to do literally everything. She was late for setup before the rehearsal so she had no clue what was going on by the time she got there. We had boxes of decorations everywhere, and she's the only one I ever talked to about it all, and she wasn't even there. Several of our family members that were setting up had plenty to say about lack of help and cooperation during the decorating stage prior to rehearsal and especially day of the wedding. During the actual rehearsal she failed to go over any cocktail hour or intro instructions at all which didn't help during the chaos that was caused the next day.
I'm just going to open up wedding day with, she left. Immediately after the ceremony, through all of cocktail hour and all of intros and first dances and speeches and all the stuff that needed a planner around, she was gone without a word or a replacement. Now, emergencies happen, and failure to prepare for certain foreseeable emergencies is super unfortunate, but still, I understand and support that sometimes you have to step out, BUT SAY SOMETHING. I still have no clue when she left or came back. She was hard to find even when she was there. Her assistant went with his drink from the bar, and hid in the kitchen. No one could find him either. He was even overheard saying "they know you're gone now, you have to come back." Here's where failure to rehearse intros comes in. She had never even spoken to the dj prior to the event about intros or names for the party, never even gave him a timeline, and we had no clue when and where to be after the ceremony, because we didnt have her to follow her lead. I stayed hidden through all of cocktail hour because I thought I was waiting to go out for the intro. I missed out on so much just waiting for her. A whole crew of people were looking for her or her assistant to give names and songs to the dj. We also never established a welcome speech, which, if she were present I'm sure she would've stepped up to do it, instead I had to lean on my cousin from out of state, who also happens to be a wedding planner. She stepped up all night where Evelyn or her assistant should've been. She helped guide guests to their seats for the ceremony to try and balance for photos, and to the building for cocktail hour, she lined us up for intros, she made the speech to greet everyone, she sent our guests table by table for food, she even found my marriage license in my dressing room and our witnesses and made sure the paperwork was done at the last minute. My hairdresser was the one who went and got us drinks when she saw us raising toasts on stage with empty glasses. When Evelyn finally was present she was pushing plates of food and multiple cups while we were just greeting guests and seeing our whole space and setup for the first time, we sat awkwardly on a couch in the parlor, getting up and down saying hi to people as everyone was walking by in line for food. We eventually just had a cousin help carry all of our stuff up to the stage where our table was so we could relax and eat. We never did finish our greetings.
The distress my closest family and friends had to put up with due to her lack of involvment is completely unacceptable and her assistants reaction to being put in the lead was outright inappropriate. He finally walked out with a drink in his hand like nothing was going on, while people were frantic trying to find her. My favorite people didn't get to fully enjoy themselves and I didn't get to spend time with them because they were busy doing someone's job.
After the fact I was able to reflect and wonder about certain things I know we had talked about. Where were all of my small center pieces I hand made? Stuffed under a catering table all night. Where was my guest book set up? It was whisked away with ceremony stuff and forgotten about. Why was the DJ last minute scrambling for a timelime during cocktail hour? He was seen and spoken to on Friday. Not sure why there wasn't any coordination.
I waited over two weeks for any kind of apology, explanation, or even a congratulations, or a thanks for using our services. I've gotten no contact past leaving the venue that night.
$4000 for someone to call and vent with while I planned everything and for my family to run the event. Not sure what exactly that money paid for, but I'm feeling extremely taken advantage of. It's a lesson in being grateful for such wonderful family and friends. -

I do not recommend working with Love & Laughter Weddings. We went under contract with Evelyn to do partial wedding planning on February 6th, for our August 9th wedding, and paid the retaining deposit. By Monday, February 24th, I had not heard one word from Evelyn, other than her emailing us blank Google documents for us to enter some information into. It was never discussed.
2/24, I texted her to see if we could talk, so I could catch her up on some vendors that I locked in, and to ask for her help with a few things. She said she was busy, but would make time to talk to us Thursday or Friday. She texted me around noon on Friday to see if we could still talk that day. It was a relief to hear back from her! I caught her up on things I'd completed, and she promised to get back to us on Monday with a timeline for our date, and further information I had requested.
On this call, I did ask about the possibility of downgrading our package from partial, to month of, since I was continuing to do all of the planning and work. I was very clear that I didn't mean to offend her in the question, and that we were happy to be moving forward with her either way. She seemed to receive the inquiry just fine, and not surprisingly said she could not downgrade the planning package. Ok, totally fine!
You can imagine my surprise when I received an email from her the following Monday, March 3rd, that did not include the promised information, but instead said that she was canceling our contract because she believed we needed someone to help with decor, and who aligned better with our needs and vision?? We wouldn't have chosen her in the first place if either party didn't feel like she aligned with our vision and needs... and if I can figure out a florist, dj, photographer, venue, etc, I can surely handle decor rentals. That obviously was not what we hired her for, and our needs did not change from our initial conversations with her, other than things that I completed myself, that I was hoping she would be able to help me with, and didn't.
She canceled our contract on us, without any discussion, and without having done literally one thing for us in the planning process in the month that she was under contract with us. So, now we're a month further down the line, with less planner options as our date grows closer, now only 5 months away, and having to start completely from scratch in finding a wedding planner.
Do not waste your time or energy. Unbelievably unprofessional.
