    Talented, Helpful and Classy

This group is amazing! They are talented and can play anything. People are still coming up to me commenting on how wonderful the music was at our wedding. But what really makes Loring String Quartet stand apart from others is the time and energy Conor put into helping me arrange the pieces. His knowledge runs deep and his sincerity shines bright. The help he provided us is priceless and the musical talent was the icing on the cake!! They may be a touch more than other quartets, but they are worth their weight in gold!!

I don't even know where to start, everything was amazing. The music was so beautiful during our ceremony and cocktail hour. They even played right along side my husbands brother (who was playing the piano) during the bride's processional. Anything we asked for they did. Very professional and the music was beautiful. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quartet!

We had the Loring String Quartet play at our wedding ceremony, and they did an absolutely fantastic job. The song I chose to walk down the aisle to was a bit unique and wasn't in their repertoire, however, this was no problem for them. They not only accommodated our request, they arranged and performed it so beautifully, that we had multiple guests comment about how beautiful it was (a few even saying it brought tears to their eyes). It honestly couldn't have been more perfect. While we did receive cheaper quotes from other quartets, we felt they did not have the same level of talent and professionalism as the LSQ. They are simply the best!

We hired Conor to play Violin with our Pianist. His communication, professionalism and musicianship exceeded all expectations. The guests at the wedding couldn't stop talking about the ceremony music, and there wasn't a dry eye in the crowd. The price was actually less than I expected. He was perfectly in tune with my pianist, and didn't miss a note.

Working with Conor and his group was a pleasure - he was extremely responsive and worked with me to help finalize the pieces, offering good suggestions for pieces or offering alternatives that would better fit with the ceremony. Their music was beautiful and I would definitely use them again in the future.

We loved the Loring String Quartet. Conor was very responsive and friendly via email and phone and helped me craft a great list of prelude songs. The group was willing to learn new songs (for a small fee to get the music). They were the most expensive string quartet we considered, but in the end, we felt their musical talent outweighed the extra costs. On the day of, the music sounded beautiful and was a perfect addition to our ceremony.

    Beautiful Sounding Divas

I've sat on this review for a while, as I was hesitant to post. I chose now to post as I believe that it may help other brides who will be in my position.
I urge everyone to read the contracts closely. In the contract it states that the LSQ "must be in an area which is protected from wind and completely shaded from sun by overhead coverage. Tree shade does not suffice. We
do not play outdoors if there is any rain or if the temperature drops below 65oF (possibly a lower
temperature, at the discretion of the musicians on the day)."
If you are having an outdoor wedding, I would not risk booking the Loring String Quartet. On the day of my wedding, there were scattered showers in the morning, but it cleared up by show time. There was no rain in sight, but they refused to play outside despite us setting up the 10x10 tent they required. In fact, one of the musicians gave my coordinator a difficult time playing at all. They ended up compromising and playing under the roof of the building, but the guests and myself were straining to hear the music during the ceremony. They couldn't be heard at all during cocktail hour due to their distance from the space. I understand the musicians livelihood depends on the instruments, but we had the tent set up as they required in cases like mine.
In short, beautiful music and timely responses. difficult personalities and seemed to make up the rules of the contract as they went.

    Loring String Quartet's reply:

Hi Brittany, I'm writing this reply having spoken to you on the phone right after you posted your review in an effort to resolve this issue.  You quote our contract, which we followed to the letter: there was rain that day, not just earlier but in the immediate lead-up to the ceremony, and it even sprinkled during the ceremony.  The chair company had to delay seating people until the last minute due to needing to wipe the wet from the chairs for a second time.  This has all been verified by other vendors that day.  On the morning of the wedding, the venue offered to you to move the ceremony indoors and you declined, knowing full well that a string quartet cannot be outdoors in inclement weather.  I'm sorry you're dissatisfied but it is wholly inaccurate to say that we didn't honour our commitment to you, as set forth in our contract.
