    Phenomenal!

This venue is so naturally decorated that the place itself is a gem!

    Rehearsal dinner for son

The owner, Tim Williams, was always very easy to talk with and was very accommodating to our needs. His menu choices were great and his prices I thought were very reasonable for what was included. He provided the bartender and we brought in the champagne, wine and beer. The venue was very nice and it flowed well. The night of the rehearsal dinner, everything was set up beautifully and the food was scrumptious. The venue was very cozy and had a farmhouse feel to it. After dinner and the gifts were handed out, there was still time to get out on the porch and play corn hole. We had a great time and Tim followed through with a wonderful rehearsal dinner. We came in from TN, so it was a turnkey job. All we had to do is bring the alcohol, photos and gifts to distribute. Everything else was done for us and we were very pleased. Thank you, Tim, for your personal care to make sure our event was lovely.

    Dissatisfied

A very beautiful venue yes. But was so disappointed and embarrassed for the way this woman treated our friends, family and hired help on our wedding day. We were unaware of her presence until many in our group came to us asking who she was and that she was being so rude. She was changing our set up without asking or being told and because of that we have no idea who all attended from our guest book being moved along with other things. I love the venue but with the way she harassed our guest, I would never recommend this place of business. It had been a couple weeks since our wedding and I still get phone calls from guest learning about their encounter with this woman. Goodluck to future guest.

    Good luck getting in touch

We first contacted The Lodge Montagna on 10/24/2019 through their website. The venue came highly recommended, and we fell in love with the venue. Because of the date we had selected, 10/10/2020, we really needed to book ASAP. The date is popular and we knew that a lot of facilities were already booked.

The contact information on the website was an email address. We liked the venue so much that we not only emailed but called the same day, we reached Tim the owner. He was busy getting flowers for another wedding, he said he would call back about 1:30. I left my number and I didn’t hear from him.

The next morning, 10/25/2019, we still hadn’t received a call or email response, so I tried reaching out via Facebook. I got an auto generated response, but shortly after I got a message back from Tim, stating that he tried to reach me, but was unable to. That is possible since I called from my work phone, and if he called back he may have thought it was a wrong number. In my defense, I did leave my personal number as well. The response was very kind, confirming the availability of my date, and he requested my contact info to set up a meeting, and offered to send me pricing. I had already contacted them via email and Facebook so they already had that, but I obliged and left my contact info again. This was all done early morning.

By the afternoon I still hadn’t received anything. I contacted them again via Facebook to let them know we were very interested and wanted to see it ASAP and requested how much a deposit was and how they preferred to be paid. We were that serious about it. There was no response.

On 10/26/2019 my fiancé called and had to leave a voicemail. We receive no call back.

On 10/27/19 we were in the area, we took a long shot and reached out to say we would be available if they could see us. We received an auto response.

On 10/28/19 I realized that morning that I had put my phone number in wrong, so I corrected that. They still had my Facebook and email. No response via Facebook, but later that evening, at 9:45, Tim emailed me. He let me know they had a wedding Saturday and to let him know what time so we could set up a tour. My fiancé also called and had to leave a voicemail.

On 10/29/19 I responded with my availability, and also provided some details of my wedding so that I could get some pricing. At this point I still hadn’t received any pricing.

On 10/30/19 I emailed them again to try and nail down a time. There was no response.

On 11/1/19 I emailed again about viewing the venue and outlined my concerns about the lack of communication.

On 11/2/19, the Saturday they volunteered to show us around, we still hadn’t heard from them. I ended up having to work so my fiancé was doing tours. He had another venue to tour that morning, and once he finished with that tour he called to see if he could come by. They did answer and said he could come. Monika showed him around and was very inviting and knowledgeable. We were given her email and told that’s who we should contact for pricing. At this point they already had my cell phone number, my fiancé’s cell phone, my email and my Facebook, but we took her email as well. She did talk expansively about the full service all inclusive package, which was about $2000 over our initial budget but we were still considering spending that much because we loved the venue and one stop shopping seemed really nice. But we couldn’t get any details about what they included, any menus, or really any other packages or pricing information. They were really putting the hard sell on the all inclusive, which I absolutely understand, but we wanted to know what that included and all of our options. They did tell my fiancé they are wary about sending their prices because their competitors might some how use this. My fiancé took photos and they just reaffirmed we loved the venue.

On 11/3/19 we emailed Monika at the address we were given. We again asked for the pricing, and outlined our concerns with getting in contact. We also expressed our sincere desire to book our wedding with their venue. No reply back from Monika.

Later on 11/3/19 Tim the owner emailed me. He thanked me for touring the facility, and went on about the exclusive catering that they do for Sanctuary Estates. I’m not sure why he included that as I hadn’t asked about catering. He then let me know that since they focus on the bride of the week that sometimes the communication is lax. He then basically told me that he didn’t feel that we were a good match for their facility, and wished me well on my search.

I will admit I was taken aback. We had been pursuing them for over a week. We had been interested from the jump. They didn’t have to sell us on anything, we wanted them. We had put off two other venues because we wanted to view them first. That’s not The Lodges fault, that’s just how serious we were about booking them.

We decided we didn’t feel comfortable giving upwards of $10,000 to a facility that couldn’t, in over a week, respond to my most basic request. Or to a facility that made us feel like a bother for pursuing them to hold our event there. It also made me nervous to think that closer to the wedding I might need to be in more frequent contact concerning say weather, or decor, or last minute changes, and would be treated to the same level of dismissal that I had encountered during this week of trying to get pricing and just set up a tour.

I honestly think what boggles my mind more than anything is that we just wanted to see the venue and know what we could be getting for our $12000. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for.

If you can get in contact with them and get the package information, and choose this facility, you will have a beautiful wedding. The facility is absolutely gorgeous. For some I’m sure the beauty alone will trump the poor communication. For us it didn’t.

Im just getting around to posting this because a few friends had asked me about this venue. They recommended I share my experience.
