With 100 guests in attendance, everything from the setup to the stunning mountain backdrop was absolutely perfect. The outdoor setting felt intimate yet spacious, with the beautiful greenery and fresh mountain air adding a special touch to our celebration. The team at Lion Square Lodge, especially Megan and Sarah, made sure every detail was taken care of, and their expertise allowed us to enjoy our day without any worries. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the incredible views.

The wedding staff at Lion Square Lodge are top notch. Kirstie is professional, responsive, knowledgeable and even helped me with some created items for my big day. Kirstie even painted the bottoms of my shoes blue for my "something blue". All my guests couldn't stop commenting on how delicious the food tasted. I went with passed hors d'oeuvres by the pool for cocktail hour and a buffet with brisket, chicken, mac n cheese, salad and smashed potatoes. The Lion Square Lodge lawn is the perfect place for a wedding and the stairs was a beautiful spot for our ceremony. We had a casual ceremony where our friends and family gathered around us instead of seated in chairs. Steve and I will never forget our special day!

We were also lucky to work with Vail Catering Concepts, Lion Square’s new exclusive catering partner, and they knocked it out of the park. The food was not only beautifully presented but also absolutely yummy.

Megan and team are very professional, she provided a wonderful venue tour, organized lodge condo tours so we’d know we would have enough space in the room we booked for getting ready, and always made sure our day was going to be perfect. This venue is unbeatable for a first look or formal photos on the neighboring gondola and those gorgeous mountain/creek views all night long. We had our wedding and reception at the Lion Square Lodge in August of 2019 and couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. Many of our guests were in from out of town and took a mini-vacation to enjoy all the Vail had to offer. Most stayed right at the Lion Square Lodge and loved the location to the villages. Sarah and Debbie were fantastic to work with and very professional ensuring all of our requests were met and our guests were taken care of. They provided flexibility to use various areas of the property: we had our ceremony on the lawn, cocktail reception by the pool and dinner and dancing held indoors in a room overlooking the lawn and Vail mountain. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful the food was for our reception and how they loved that everything was all in the same spot. Thank you again for all the help before and after the wedding to make sure we had a beautiful day!

I could not have envisioned a more incredible experience experience than we had at Lion's Square for my daughter's wedding. We got married at LSL in July 2016. It was an amazing day and kristie and her team did everything they could to help us make it the day of our dreams. We had cocktail hour by the pool, pictures on the river, chairs on the lawn for the ceremony, and a large tent with optional walls (needed for cold summer nights) for the reception. Weddings are incredibly stressful and it was great to have a reliable and beautiful venue with expert consultation to help us with our day.

We had our wedding at Lion Square Lodge, and it could not have been more perfect! The views are magnificent and all guests (we had 180 of them) were so impressed with how gorgeous it was at this lodge, right at the base of the Gondola. Also the service at this lodge is unbeatable. When it rained and snowed on our wedding day, the front desk called every guest to tell them the ceremony would be moved inside and the wedding coordinator, Kirstie handled every last detail. The inside room for that our ceremony was moved to (which was our backup plan) was still beautiful with all glass windows and mountain views. We still held our reception in the clear-top tent out back on the lawn and it was perfect. Lastly, this was the most affordable venue in the area and for a very classy wedding with top-notch service. The venue was very willing to work within our budget, and Kirstie, the wedding coordinator, truly went above and beyond. She is extremely competent in her profession. My husband and I felt that if there was some aspect of the event that we missed in our planning, it would be ok because we had Kirstie. Our guests all weekend could not stop commenting on how perfect of a venue this was, especially with everything in one spot. A beautiful reception area out back that guests simply walk out to and the location right in the heart of Lionshead kept everyone entertained in the days leading up to the wedding. When searching for venues, this one didn't initially show in our search results because we didn't realize that we could set up a tent out back and we wanted an outdoor wedding, but when a local friend suggested it, we were instantly sold. This is truly a gem for a perfect Vail wedding.

I wanted to write this review as a friendly warning to other couples who might consider LSL for guest lodging. We had an incredibly bad experience here, particularly in dealing with their group lodging/events coordinator, Sarah. She was not typically responsive and pretty unprofessional. We needed to CONSTANTLY check in with her to receive updated lists for our guests. On two occasions she made reservation mistakes that were in our guests' favor and she refused to honor them. She also made changes to our guests' lodging assignments (i.e. changing from a 2BR to a 1BR) without notice or warning. Once, we planned around her schedule to visit and see the room we would be staying in and she flaked on us. It was a disaster. We were so fed up, in fact, that we moved ourselves out of LSL for our wedding week and stayed in the Arrabelle instead. I just didn't want to deal with the stress of terrible customer service and though the Arrabelle was quite a bit more expensive, it was worth every penny and really made our stay special. Luckily, all of our other wedding vendors were incredible and we had to remind ourselves of that every time we dealt with LSL. (I will say that our guests were mostly happy with their rooms in the end, but they did not go through/know of the hassles we encountered.) We had considered hosting our wedding reception at LSL and boy, are we glad we did not! I can't even imagine what that might have been like!!
