Easy and amazing and a good deal!
Limelight was amazing! They did our engagement photos, wedding photos, DJ (Ben was great and was very interactive and was down for anything we had planned!) videography and photobooth! They had good packaged deals! We opted for an upgraded package to have Richard as our photographer and he was a pleasure to work with. The photos turned out great. We love the highlight video and that they captured the most important parts of our day. The whole team was very timely and courteous. The planning meetings made everything go smoothly! The complimentary photo album turned out great even though it was hard to choose from the hundreds of photos taken! I would highly recommend them and I would use them again! Thanks for sharing our day with us and capturing the memories! -

My husband and I worked with Limelight for the DJ for our elopement in August 2020 and for our wedding celebration in October 2021. Andrew was absolutely amazing. Friendly, kind, and very attentive to our wants and needs. He kept the dancefloor hopping all night, took requests quickly, and checked in with me periodically all night to make sure I was doing ok and was happy with his services. The company's attentiveness throughout the whole planning process was unmatched and their online planning program could not have been more helpful or easier! I would highly recommend Limelight to anyone looking for a great DJ for their event.
We also used their photobooth services and I HIGHLY recommend it. All our guests loved it and they print 4x6 pictures, which is the absolute best! We had such a wonderful and fun time because of Limelight! -

We were so lucky to have chosen Limelight for our photography and DJ! Our big wedding was originally scheduled for Aug 2020, but postponed the reception due to COVID. They were so flexible, willing to work with us, and made re-scheduling easy. We got to work with Richard twice (once for the wedding in 2020 and for the reception in 2021) and he made us feel confident were in good hands about the planning process both times. Plus a photo turnaround as fast as they do is unheard of in the wedding industry, but somehow they manage to do it and deliver INCREDIBLE results. I 110% recommend. -

Limelight was absolutely fantastic! I had them for all of my services. Photography, DJ, and Photo Booth! All the staff were amazing and helped every bit of the way. Whenever I had the smallest question they were there with a quick reply which made me feel so much better about my wedding day. The planning appointments were helpful as well as it helped make all the pieces fit for a smooth wedding day. My photographer was awesome she got every shot I wanted and more with time left for my husband and I to relax before our grand introduction. Our DJ was so amazing and kept everyone and everything on track and had the party going for hours. The photo-booth was a hit as well as it was packed all night. I couldn’t be happier with my decision going with limelight! -

I can't even begin to explain what an amazing decision it was to work with Limelight. From my first call with Ric I knew that this company was something special and someone who could help a crazy bride plan her Michigan wedding from California, in seven months.
From emails leading up to closer months, followed by phone calls and check ins, I consistently felt listened to and on the same page with the team.
I had the most amazing night of my life, dancing to my favorite songs with my favorite people and I have amazing (and some silly!) shots of my best friends and I (and my husband and his!) getting ready, the breathtaking photos of us becoming Mr & Mrs and the memories captured of a moment I will cherish forever, dancing with my daddio.
We have zero regrets booking Limelight as both our DJ & Photographer. Ric, Dustin & Philip were all so talented and such professionals - I had multiple people comment on how sharp they looked at the wedding too.
My husband and I were so excited to receive our album, we couldn't open the box fast enough! We absolutely LOVE our album, the quality of the album itself and the pictures make it invaluable. So blessed to have an amazing thing to treasure for decades.
These are all reasons I would recommend Limelight, in a heartbeat. Thank you for the hard work and passion for providing an unforgettable (and stress free) experience! -

From the beginning of the day to photos in the salon, to arrival at the venue it was non/stop photos! I have never been at a Wedding with one photographer that did all that Richard did! So many wonderful pictures I truly cannot decide which ones to purchase! & The DJ, Nick was just as amazing! Would recommend them over & over! -

Working with Richard and the Limelight team was a wonderful blessing from beginning to end. My husband and I planned our wedding in about 90-days, so having the expert advice and support from Limelight helped in the most valuable way. We were able to express our desires for the day, and worked everything out well in advance. We utilized both the photography and DJ services and were very satisfied. The level of professionalism was unparalleled, and out pictures turned out amazing! If you are looking for a reliable professional you've found them, well worth it! -
Carly Sent on 08/30/2018Im not sure where to even start. First things first, we had our Photography, Officiant, and Dj with Limelight. I could have never asked for anything more with any other company. We had our engagement session first and when we left my husband and I both were happy at that point with Richard, he was very easy going and never made us feel like we were posing for a camera. He told us some ideas of how to stand and let us do the rest. Some photographers can be a little awkward being that your standing in front of a complete stranger kissing your significant other for them to take a picture of, haha. But with Richard he made us feel comfortable and it was fun. We did our final appointment about two weeks before the wedding and he talked me through EVERYTHING. When I got off the phone i had no questions and it helped so much being that i was in that final stress stage of wanting everything to be done. Once the wedding came i asked if they would do some getting ready photos for us at the hotel we were getting ready at and he did not hesitate at the idea and made it happen. We even got to pop some champagne (: The wedding had a few bumps on my wedding party's side but Nick C our Dj and both Richard and Phillip worked with us and everything went smoothly. I could have not asked for anything more with a company, we had so many guests ask who we used and say how amazing they all were and how genuinely nice everyone was too. They were beyond anything we expected and were amazing in every single way. And the price is unbeatable. We didn't break the bank with Limelight and we got top dollar work out of it.. if we did it again i would chose Limelight every single time.

Got married recently and have nothing but wonderful things to say about Limelight! They make every aspect from booking them to your wedding day SO easy with planned 30-60-90 day check ins. AND they include a free engagement session so we got to meet our photographer and make sure we were all on the same page for how we wanted things to look overall long before the wedding day - which greatly put us both at ease.
In addition, the admin staff does a wonderful job at giving ideas and inspiration when you're lost on how things normally go at weddings. They made it so easy and we didn't have to worry about anything! I would definitely recommend Limelight and Philip Bareham specifically. You won't be disappointed! -

Great DJ & Photography package in Lansing!
We were extremely happy with the DJ & photography package from Limelight. Communication was a little rocky at first because there are multiple email addresses that are associated with the business which made it difficult to track who was on the other end of the email, but a simple phone call generally cleared up any confusion I had. As far as the results- our DJ kept the party going and the photos we got back were great. Tasteful and timeless, but still fun and creative. Richard was willing to go anywhere we asked and came up with lots of ideas for shots. We were also very pleased with the turn around time on both our engagement and our wedding photos. Overall I think we got a great value for our money and I would happily recommend anyone use their services! -

Jeremy Sent on 02/04/2025There are very few positive things that i can say about Limelight. Overall the experience was horrible. I would not recommend them to anyone.
I will try to keep this short, but explain as much as necessary. We used them for the Photography, Videography, DJ and photo booth. Our event coordinator started out great but had to go out on maternity leave, which is understandable as this happens. We ended up dealing with one of the owners. My daughter had an engagement photo shoot, but shortly after that the photographer left the company. They ended up getting another photo shoot with a new photographer- no worries, these things happen. Fast forward to the day of the wedding. The DJ showed up late and we helped him unload his equipment. He was dressed like he was working goin to a construction jobsite, but we assumed he would change before the ceremony- we were WRONG. He looked very sloppy. He told us not to open the door on his truck because literal garbage would fall out of it. We scrambled to get him setup for the ceremony in time. The ceremony went off fine. Then during cocktail hour, in the middle of music playing, I heard an add for Home Depot playing. I though i was hearing things. During the meal, i heard another add start playing. The DJ skipped it after a few seconds. A short time later i heard a Harbor Freight add playing. I looked at the DJ booth and he wasn't there. He was setting up the photo booth because he was late and hadn't done it yet. I, the father of the Bride, walked up to the booth and pressed skip on his YouTube playlist that he was using for music. Then a short time later, i hear Amazing Grace playing (usually a funeral song) during dinner. I looked and the DJ is in line for food, in front of guests that haven't been served yet. I told him to change the song immediately. Later in the night, i gave the DJ very specific instruction that i would be announcing a special guest entrance and to not do anything until i got back to the booth. 2 minutes later he starts to announce the guest and play the music. I had to run from the parking lot and take the mic away from him. The DJ was the most unprofessional thing i have ever seen. (they also never brought the lights that were promised). The next day i called the owner who did nothing but make excuses and tell me that this DJ was really good. No apology and no attempt to right the situation. He said that the DJ was having problems logging into their YouTube Premium account- that's why the commercials. WHAT?!?!? What kind of DJ doesn't just have songs downloaded to play? Seriously, the owner was ok with this level of service. I called the owner again to see what he would do about this, and he did nothing but make excuses. Terrible service. Then a couple months later, we finally got the video from the wedding. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. It looked like a high school 1st semester video project. Terrible editing, and it left out so much stuff. We were SOOO disappointed in the video and the whole service that Limelight provided. The only thing that was good was the photographer, who was sub-contracted out. SO, I'll give them a 1 star rating, and that's only because the photographer was decent. -

My experience was very similar to other negative reviews which I should have checked. Moved offices and did not notify clients until weeks later, not surprisingly doesn’t have current info on this site (even though it’s months later after relocation at the time of this post), would not allow in person meetings at current location. I went to their office to discuss concerns and it was abandoned. I repeatedly asked for examples of photographers work and was not allowed any. I didn’t even have full name of person taking wedding pics until week of my wedding and he said he wasn’t allowed to show me his work. When I asked about a sunset photo on the deck that I specifically chose ballroom for I was told it could be photoshopped in, very impersonal and not relational to couples. I felt like just a gig and a number and the only priority communication made was if they wanted more money. This company puts responsibility on the client to schedule services, meetings, types of meetings and then has no accountability or remorse when they cancel, don’t provide or don’t show up. Save yourself heartache and great financial loss, find a photographer with many years experience for one of the most important days of your life! Spend a hundred bucks on Amazon and do your own uplighting!
