Great Wedding DJ
Mike did an outstanding job from the beginning, setting up an easy to use website to enter in all music from ceremony through reception through the dance floor. He met with us on multiple occasions ahead of the day to make sure we were on the same page for everything. On the day of we threw him a curveball and he was able to adjust and make it happen. Got plenty of compliments from friends after the fact as well, can’t recommend him enough!

Mike did an incredible job from start to finish. He's super friendly and respectful, and his work is very thorough and detailed. He kept great communication and offered plenty of help and ideas when we were indecisive! We were thrilled with his interactions with our guests and how he kept them and us entertained all night! He met with us many times prior to the wedding to iron things out. He provided the most incredible service on our wedding day. Even our parents danced!
We hired Michael to be our DJ based on the high recommendations we received from our planner and photographer. We arranged a meeting to discuss our preferences, and he proved to be instrumental in simplifying the planning process. Our wedding day unfolded exactly as we had envisioned, with seamless execution. Michael graciously accommodated song requests from our guests and even treated everyone, including our parents, to a few slow dance numbers that filled the dance floor. Mike took the time to understand both my wife and me, along with our concerns. We were the last among our group of friends to get married, which provided us with the opportunity to explore numerous entertainment options in the area. Mike was so helpful in the planning process and his attention to detail surpasses my own. He probably hated my procrastination, but I am grateful for his advice and patience.
Day of our wedding we wanted a care free party, our guests loved the photo booth, and the dance floor was never empty.
The guys on the dancefloor had their shirts off and ties around their heads before it even got dark.

JT and Michael were very easy to communicate and work with through the entire planning process. Their website has all the tools and timelines you need to plan ahead and they were very helpful with our non-traditional elements we wanted to include into our ceremony and reception. JT did awesome before, during, and after our wedding, and I couldn't be happier! We chose what is now called the Classic option and added on the Magic Mirror Photo Booth. Having an attendant at the photo booth was so great! It was a hit with our guests and we got a perfect photo album with copies of all the pictures that our guests took as a keepsake.

JT was incredibly responsive and helpful during my wife and I's planning process of our wedding. During the planning process, we had several meetings with JT where we would brainstorm what we want to do at the wedding for entertainment and music. On the day of the wedding, JT was attentive and present the entire time and was always checking in on us to make sure we were having a great time. He was also great at dealing with the in-laws questions and concerns about entertainment. He played a killer set and transitioned between songs smoothly as well.
Overall, JT's work can be described in three words - adaptable, attentive, and professional. I would recommend him for any event, ESPECIALLY a wedding!

Michael and Lights Out made the music and sound part of planning a wedding in a pandemic a headache-free process. He was willing to meet with us regularly at convenient times to get to know us and our vision for our wedding. He always had advice when we needed it and the online planning tool was extremely helpful in keeping us on task and organized. Simply The BEST!!
This man is a genius. Yes, I said GENIUS!! DJ Mikey is a one of a kind find in this world right now. He took such good care of our needs for our wedding. From the first phone call we had, we knew we wanted to have him take care of the music for our special day. The amount of time and attention to detail Mike gave us was the best we have ever had, and the best part was that he did it all from over 1,000 miles away. He took the time to find out who we were and what our music tastes were, not just here is a playlist. Dancing the night away
Where to begin?! In the midst of COVID and from 1,100 miles away Michael aka DJ Mikey helped us navigate the music, the timeline, special requests, the I don’t knows, and put our minds at rest that no wedding is perfect but it is perfectly memorable. With a small gathering in a field with a circus tent, a very eclectic play list and DJ Mikey in the booth, the dance floor was never empty. Everyone at our wedding was raving all night (and still are weeks later)about our DJ. He kept them dancing, laughing and on their toes with every song he played. On top of being a great DJ, Mike has an amazing personality that is engaging and upbeat! We HIGHLY recommend Lights Out Entertainment for any and all your events! JT was absolutely attentive to us. He went above and beyond as a DJ. He helped to move the arbor, asking my daughter and her groom if they needed anything to drink, while they were getting pictures taken, and just being attentive to everything or anything that we might need. I am so pleased to make a recommendation here for Mike from Lightsout Entertainment in Indianapolis. I actually asked Mike what sites I could leave reviews for him because we were so happy with the job he did for our daughter's wedding. (THANK YOU AGAIN MIKE) He was an absolute pro! He handled music, sound, introductions, etc for our daughter's outdoor ceremony (The bride & groom had chosen special music for that and Mike timed it all perfectly!) and then for the indoor reception at a second venue across the street. Mike didn't miss a beat! Excellent equipment, super easy to work with, very well organized in advance and a timely communicator. He listened to what our daughter and fiance wanted and delivered. We would highly recommend him. The guests loved the music choices - lots of dancing - and we didn't worry about one thing where he was concerned. He offered me recommendations when I was unsure of specific activities (bouquet toss, parent-children dances, etc) and was extremely flexible with all of my non-traditional additions. He integrated my husband and my music tastes so well and brought so many to the dance floor. Throughout the night and after I was constantly hearing how great JT was from so many of my wedding guests, which is saying a lot. Truly look no further than JT with Lights Out Entertainment. JT was awesome and so helpful from planning through the wedding day! He took the time to get to know us and our tastes and made some great recommendations for our timeline before the wedding. I struggled quite a bit with picking a DJ - it is a huge decision. We met with Mike and JT, and were so impressed with their professionalism. Fast forward to the day of the wedding, and JT did an amazing job. Our dance floor was packed for the entire reception - something I never imagined would happen! They were slightly higher priced than other DJs I spoke with, but worth every single penny. If I ever need a DJ again, I'd pick them for sure!

Great Party!
I’ll start with the result...JT and Mike led a heck of a party all night! They kept the energy up in a large room with a diverse crowd for a 4 hour reception, not to mention their thoughtful, but concise MC services throughout the night. We were lucky enough to have both JT and Mike available for our wedding and they seemlessly tied together all of the transitions in the night’s schedule. A few progressively detailed planning sessions helped us arrive at all of the important decisions we needed to make. Highly recommended, great value!

First, just let me say that DJ Mikey completely set the tone for our amazing wedding! With his upbeat, yet professional demeanor, he helped make our guests feel welcomed and ready to dance from pre-ceremony through the end of our reception. He accurately read the room and kept the loving, fun, community spirit alive all evening. The lighting in the reception hall was top notch. He interacted with our guests, and we received SO many comments about how much they loved him. Aside from the day-of, he was also very communicative and receptive about what we wanted throughout the planning process, offering suggestions when we were unsure, and finding obscure songs that were special to us. If I could give him 1000/10 stars, I would do so in a heartbeat. Don’t even look for another DJ!! You’ve found him!

Mike Nickolich was a phenomenal DJ for us and our wedding. He was more on top of some of the planning aspects than we were and took care of and asked us questions about things we hadn't even thought of. Through the evening he did a wonderful job of communicating with us and letting us know what was going on since we had some rain and our timeline had to get pushed around. He was well organized and professional and it's apparent that he's been doing this for a while and really good at it too. The Long Version:
If you are looking for a DJ I highly recommend these guys. My husband and I interviewed many DJs in Indy before we made our decision to use Lights Out and we are extremely glad we were able to book them. We read all the reviews online, believe me their reputation precedes them. All the reviews we read are true.
Our DJ took the time to get to know us instead of trying to upsell us more stuff. This is one of the many things that stood out to us before we booked. We also really liked that we knew our DJ was going to be Michael when we booked, when we asked other Companies who our dj will be it felt like we were getting the run around. Something we were not comfortable with.
Leading up to the big day:
All in all we had a few meetings with Mike before our wedding day. He was always quick to respond to emails and phone calls and very understanding of what our needs and preferences were. He even made a custom edit for our dance song and sent it to us a few weeks before so we could practice dancing.
Day of the wedding:
Mike was amazing! He showed up well before he said he would to set up.
We loved his energy and really liked that Michael had a strong presence when needed and still made it about us. The day flowed so smoothly and everything was flawless we attribute that to our dj for keeping us on track.
When it came time for dancing he completely crushed it. (Had the dancefloor packed all night for a solid four hours.)

Mike did an AMAZING job at our wedding last weekend! In preparing for the big day Mike and I communicated through email- he always responded right away. Professionalism was 100%. We met up only a few times to discuss details- this was very convenient since planning a wedding and meetings can be overwhelming. Lights Out Entertainment makes it easy to request songs with their online portal. We had the ability to prepare as many songs as we wanted for cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, etc. Mike visited my venue multiple times to make sure of the layout preparation and setup. Once the big day arrived things went SO smoothly. My husband and I arrived at the venue after cocktail hour and Mike found us right away. We were about to welcome the party and I had a slight moment- he immediately found me a drink without even asking- clutch. As soon as the party started it did..not..stop! The dance floor was overflowing with guests- the music was always on point. Before the dancing even started Mike made his way around to my guest's tables and got to know them- and even made sure some had a designated driver. I cannot say enough wonderful things about DJ Mike! He was absolutely amazing! His experience in the field does not go unnoticed. He was communicative, flexible and easy to work with. He was always willing to talk via phone, email or in person. At times, he would even reach out to check-in. He is able to read a crowd better than anyone I have ever encountered and he adds a personal touch to the reception (which was very important to us). Getting married is stressful and expensive enough as is, you should not have to deal with vendors trying to upsell you or adding to your stress! He was very thorough in preparing for our wedding and his website allowed us to customize the playlist for our event. He was even able to help us edit our first dance songs to be the perfect length. In our search for a wedding DJ last spring, we had a tough time initially deciding. Then a friend recommended Lights Out and we couldn't have been happier with our decision! Mike, our DJ, took the initiative to set up his own meeting with the event planner at our reception venue. Michael was the DJ for our wedding and we couldn't have been any happier. We were impressed with Michael on day one. He is easy to get ahold of and quick to return messages. He is attentive to not only the bride and groom's needs, but to all the wedding guests. He went and talked with every table while they were waiting to be dismissed to the buffet. He was not only distracting them from thinking about when their turn would be to get food, but he asked what kind of music they like to help give him an idea of which songs from my play if possible list he should play. Michael is the best! He went out of his way to accommodate us. Throughout the whole process, he was more than willing to meet with us several times to make sure everything was just right. He was more than willing to purchase music that wasn't already in his catalog so that we could have the music we wanted. That included special songs for our 4 year old son. I found it was easy to maneuver and pick songs using his online playlist software. Our wedding had a racing theme and Michael matched the wedding party by wearing his checkered flag tie along with the groomsmen. Michael made sure he was available for the wedding rehearsal. The day of the wedding turned out great. Michael was a wonderful MC and DJ. He personally took me and my bride's food orders and made sure we got our food. We got married in a historic building in downtown Indianapolis and held our ceremony and reception at the same venue. We wanted to have great sound quality for our ceremony and we wanted to make our reception super fun! We were referred to DJ Mikey via word-of-mouth, and after meeting with him about 6-8 weeks before our wedding, we knew he was the right fit for the job!
In meeting with him before the big day, we were able to talk through specific songs for set parts of the ceremony and reception, including pre-wedding music, processional, recessional, grand introduction, cake cutting, father-bride dance, etc. Having these specific pieces decided ahead of time was really helpful in ensuring our wedding vision came to fruition. There was an interactive, online portal that we used to help input and change these songs and there were also lists for "must play" and "do not play," which were really helpful! Speaking with DJ Mikey allowed us to share our vision with him and he was able to get a feel for the event we wanted to create!
In the planning stage of our wedding, DJ Mikey was really organized and very prompt with communication! He was in contact with our pastor and photographer before the event and did a great job of communicating with both us and them to make everything seamless. He is very eager to please and do everything in his power to make the couple as happy as possible!
DJ Mikey was prompt, courteous, professional, and SUPER FUN! He executed the entire ceremony and reception perfectly. We liked that he had a big, strong presence when he needed to be on the microphone, but he also was able to disappear and set the vibe for dancing and entertainment. He never once made the event about himself, and fulfilled the perfect ancillary role to make our wedding perfect!

Dj Mike from Lights Out was literally a dream to work with. He did everything we asked, helped us with suggestions, met us in person for meetings, and kept our party up and going. He's definitely a sweet and caring individual who loves his job and is amazing at it! We couldn't of been happier.

Michael was so good to us! He made appointments to have phone calls and video calls with us up until just a few days before the wedding! He was more than accommodating when my dad asked to change our Father/Daughter dance the week of the wedding and he made everything flow so well! He made our reception even more personal with the added touch of our little "love story" that he wrote after talking with us and learning about our history.
We have nothing but great things to say about DJ Mike from Lights Out Entertainment! We're so glad he was part of our big day and made our wedding the party of the year! ;) Thanks, DJ Mike and Lights Out Entertainment!

We had a great experience with Mike. We initially spoke with Mike via phone and hired him shortly thereafter. We met with him a couple of times, but we corresponded quite a bit through email. Mike was always very responsive to any questions or concerns. He listened to us and made sure the cocktail hour and reception music were things that we wanted and didn't turn into an event that our guests wanted. This was a distinct difference between another DJ we considered, but in speaking with the other DJ on the phone, we had concerns he would not listen to our requests. This was a deciding factor for us in hiring Mike. He also provided the uplighting for the cocktail hour and reception. Due to some scheduling conflicts, he came to my office with one of the lights, and we played around with the color choices in a conference room until we found something that would work. This type of attentiveness was much appreciated. Multiple guests commented afterwards about how much they liked him. Overall, a great experience, and we've already recommended him to someone who asked us about services for a party (not a wedding). We would highly recommend him.

JT Miner with Lights Out Entertainment is hands down the best DJ! He is everything we hoped for and more. From first contact until the end of the big day, JT is there for you.
Any meeting and every contact with him, he never rushes you. He is more than happy to explain how everything works, answers every question you have, and even suggests ideas.
JT made a wall monogram for our reception and it was totally us and exactly what we wanted. The uplighting he provided really helped in making the venue extra special and exciting. JT played the music we asked for and was able to read the guests to play what was needed to get them on the floor.
JT is professional, personable, and just an all around great guy. He really does go above and beyond to make your day perfect and is well worth every penny spent.

Sometimes searching for the perfect DJ for your event can be daunting; however, we were lucky that was not the case here. From the moment we met with J.T., we knew he was just the right fit. And we were right! Working with J.T. was so easy, and using their online song selection program made it so much less stressful. J.T. was very professional and accommodating to all our requests. DJ Mike (and assistant Mike) were amazing!!!!!! I literally could not have been any happier! They DJ-ed our wedding over labor day weekend and it was a blast! Not only did they keep great music playing all night, but DJ Mike went above and beyond by always checking on my husband and I to make sure we were enjoying the music! On top of that, he always asked if we needed anything to drink, which was so kind and thoughtful of him!
He also spent much time reviewing our plans of what we wanted in our wedding weeks (and even MONTHS) before the wedding. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him! Even my guests were talking all night (and days after) about how awesome he was!!!

We were married at Avon Wedding Barn and the owner of the Barn had multiple DJ's available to choose from, but she high recommended JT Miner for good reason!
JT was reasonably priced compared to other options; the value he creates in his passion and expertise is well worth every penny!
JT was very easy to work with in preparation of the wedding. He played the professional/fun line very well and took the stress out of planning; only emphasizing the fun of the day. JT's website is very user friendly and he was flexible with our (relatively wild) family and friends during the reception.
During the ceremony, each song that was chosen was on cue with the appropriate amount of sound.
Lastly, JT paired with Photographer Shaun Frederickson (Firm Grip Photography)created a dynamic duo that generated a lot of comfort, excitement, and control of all the craziness that goes on during a wedding day. The two work very well together and I recommend both for an engaged couple!

When planning a wedding as the MOB/FOB you have certain expectations. For a wedding DJ your expectations are great music, great sound, and an ability to organize it all to make sure you have a great audio experience. JT exceeded our expectations.
It was the unexpected that truly sets JT apart from the rest. He was willing to meet several times before the wedding to listen to our ideas and wishes and to make some fantastic suggestions. JT’s creative side also came out during all our planning. He did a lot of the work before that actual wedding day. The day of the wedding JT was there early and helped in a lot of ways outside the normal DJ duties. Due to JT’s organizational and facilitating skills, the ceremony and reception was enjoyed by all, as evidenced by the feedback received from e bride and groom and our guests. I think it is fair to say JT was willing to do whatever it took to make our daughter’s wedding a success.

My husband and I hired DJ Mikey for our wedding yesterday, he was absolutely amazing! He was very professional and extremely friendly! He had no trouble jumping in and helping out with things before the wedding started! His assistant Matt was also very helpful and friendly. Mikey asked about favorite songs, play dance songs for the kids, and made sure everything ran smoothly and everyone was happy. I will definitely be referring my sister to him for her wedding next year. Thank you so much Mikey!

I would most definitely recommend DJ Mikey to DJ at any event!! He was the DJ at my wedding on May 21st, 2016 and did an amazing job. He got all the guests into the wedding and the dance floor was packed all night. Another service he provided was a personalized wedding website that was really easy to use and was a great tool to organize the reception and give a clear outline. Mikey was always available to answer any and all questions I had and had some really unique ideas of his own, which was awesome!! He was very thorough made sure the night was perfect! I would book him again in a heart beat!!

Mikey, You Rock! Thank you so much for being our DJ, you are the best DJ in Indy! We got a lot of people telling us how great you were and what a fun time our wedding was. The dance floor was always jumpin' with people just like Amanda was hoping for. It's been a pleasure working with you from the start. I really liked how you were able to keep us on track in the planning process; as well as help us keep track of the time moments during our reception. One of our favorite moments of the night was when we disappeared for a few minutes to let everything sink in. Looking back, Amanda is really happy that we took that moment of time you suggested to ourselves. If you were wondering where we went we hid in the elevator for that. It was just me and my wife looking at each other and thinking about everything that had happened so far. I know we are both very glad you suggested doing that in one of our planning meetings. JT is awesome. My husband and I totally recommend him. Weeks before the wedding a couple tragedies happened so we were not as organized as we would have liked. JT went above and beyond to make sure the important questions were answered and ran with it when we were not on top of it completely. He was super flexible, took instruction really well, is laid back, professional and understanding. Another element of our wedding was that we assigned Emcee's to our wedding, and JT worked with them really well which is not super easy to coordinate. We didn't have any hiccups and JT met such a high standard of quality we were hoping for. By the end of the night, our guests were all on the dance floor..music was great.

I didn't know what to expect but Jeff had things down from the start. He met with us multiple times and was super organized and helped keep us on task! The website helped tremendously! I've been to a lot of weddings but I feel truly, with their light show and laser that read 'Mr & Mrs Wallace' it was the most fun wedding ever! People danced the ENTIRE night because the music was spot on with our taste and it never stopped. They had wedding mic-ed and had the music ready for each event from the cake cutting, garter toss, flower toss, mother son, father daughter dance and so on. We were lucky enough to have both DJs at our wedding so it was absolutely spectacular. They had everything down pat and the transitions for every song was completely seamless. These guys know what they're doing!! My 76 year old grandmother even danced. So many people joined in that we almost needed a bigger dance floor. This is the most important part of any wedding. People will forget the food and decor but they won't forget the music, lights, and fun they had dancing the night away. I've been to weddings with bad DJs and it's a bad time but these guys will make you very happy I promise!

We had such a great time at our reception - in large part due to DJ Mikey! He did an awesome job with the music, keeping things moving, and creating a fun environment for our reception! Mike did a fantastic job DJ'ing our wedding reception! We had a few discussions with him in the months, weeks, & days before the reception, and he handled everything from there. From the responsiveness to the initial quote request to the actual wedding day everything has been wonderful. DJ Mikey and his assistant did a awesome job mixing between Indian and non-Indian music which was great since my family is Indian and my husbands family is not.
Planning a wedding is extremely stressful, rest assured if you go with Lights out Entertainment for your DJ services you will not regret it. Their professionalism and quality of service is excellent and I would highly recommend them for all of your music and lighting needs. They were by far one of our favorite vendors and incredibly easy to work with. Thanks again!

I cannot say enough great things about Michael as a wedding dj! He was incredibly flexible, professional, and thorough. He responded to emails very quickly, he was always great about following up with any inquiries, and at the wedding he was really flexible with any last minute changes. He truly went above and beyond to make sure we got everything we wanted. He played all of the songs we requested and added some that were on par with our taste. We used Lights Out Entertainment for our April 2015 wedding. We loved JT! We met with him several times prior to the wedding and emailed for several weeks. We are an eclectic couple and JT created a playlist that represented out tastes. I was having trouble picking a song to walk down the aisle too and was stuck between two Incubus songs. JT mixed the songs together so that we were able to use both songs. We were not expecting this type of service and were thrilled at the attentiveness. JT did a great job working with our other vendors, directing the guests and keeping the night moving. He worked through the crowd all night and kept people on the dance floor. We would recommend him to anyone looking for a great DJ.
