AMAZING experience for our July 10th wedding

We are very pleased with Peter of Light Impressions Photography!! He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Everything went very smoothly while Peter helped direct us to get beautiful portrait pictures as well as candid pictures. Lighting Impressions was Fantastic

Peter has an amazing perspective of catching all the precious moments. He made our wedding experience seamless. He had great awareness of all the significant people in the Wedding Party, and caught all the right shots. We are from New Jersey, and with his extensive experience, he knew the venue like the back of his hand [The Conservatory at the Madison Hotel]. Great Experience with Light Impressions

I really enjoyed working with Peter and Collette at Light Impressions for our wedding photos. I do not like getting my picture taken, but Peter put me very much at ease and our photos were great. The photos I like the most are the ones where Peter was just "observing"... he would just move around the room and take great shots. The whole process was quite easy from start to finish, and I appreciated that they have a lot of options available to customize the package.

Perfect photos!

We had such a great time with Light Impressions! We found them through our venue (the Madison Hotel) as they are one of their preferred vendors, and it was easy to see why when we looked at their work. Their more natural, candid style fit exactly what we were looking for.

We had both engagement photos and wedding photos done and they all came out amazing. Going through our proofs was so exciting. Because of Covid, we haven't gotten our film photos from the wedding just yet, but we're sure they'll be gorgeous! Choosing photos for our albums is going to be difficult because there's so many that we love.

We would absolutely recommend Light Impressions to our friends and anyone else looking for a photographer. They were wonderful to work with and our photos are wonderful and exactly what we wished for!

Light Impressions Photography...Exceptional Service with a personal touch!
My husband and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Peter and his assistant. While they were our photographers, their years of experience in the wedding industry made our wedding day virtually stress-free. They took the time and patience with us, as well as both our families... adding up to our photos exceeding our expectations! After the wedding, Peter (and his "better-half" assistant Colette) met with us both in-person and thru email, to create our wedding album and enlargements (aka story book!) and were very patient with the picture changes we made before the actual album printing :) Such a pleasure to work with... so glad we chose Light Impressions Photography!!

We are Lucky to Have Found Light Impressions

When we met Peter Podezwa at the wedding expo at The Olde Mill Inn in Bernardsville, NJ, we were very impressed by his demeanor and product (he had a number of sample albums on view). Peter came across as easy going yet extremely professional. He also told us that he works in conjunction with a videographer who charges $800 when he works with Peter. We liked that idea, and price, and we decided that we liked him
and his work, so we decided to go with him as our photographer, and with Kevin Hodap as our videographer. Now, after working with him, and Kevin, and receiving our albums and video, we are extremely glad that we did.

First, understand that they do exist as separate entities, so I'll
address them as such here, but Kevin does charge $800 ($900 if you want BluRay) if you hire him and are working with Peter.

From the beginning, Peter displayed exemplary professionalism. He asked us questions to get an idea of who we were and what we wanted and expected, but he also clearly had a plan of his own and a vision based on his experience and artistic sensibility. He stressed to us that he would not be intrusive, but would work to capture, along with the traditional posed shots, key moments naturally and candidly. Wow, is that the truth. Never, on our wedding day was Peter in the way or obtrusive. Rather, he was helpful with key directions and suggestions, and willing to take any shot we might ask for. He worked beautifully with family, and provided us with helpful instructions as to when and how to gather everyone most efficiently.
When the time came (when we finally got our act together) to choose our pics and lay out our albums, Peter's personality and artistry really had a chance to shine. We went to his house, where we conversed and consulted with him and his wife Collette (who is also very helpful), and he guided us through the process of using our chosen pictures to set up our album and albums for our parents. It was simple, and painless, and boy did it produce results. We knew we could hardly go wrong with the great pictures we chose from, but we got albums that even exceeded our expectations. Both sets of parents were also VERY pleased with their books.

We really cannot say enough about our experience with Light
Impressions (Peter's company). He is incredibly easy to work with and brings top notch artistic talent and a wealth of experience to his work, and he cares. He truly works to provide you with what YOU want, and has the ability to help you decide what that is, and to come through with the approach and the product. We are very glad that we made the choice that we did and are grateful to Peter and Collette for their effort and for making our albums the beautiful record of our wedding day that they are.

As for Kevin the videographer, our video is also a major success. You can't find someone easier to work with, and he worked in tandem with Peter on the big day as if they were one person. How does a videographer stay out of the way and yet capture every big moment? Kevin did. He moved about so naturally that we never even noticed him, and yet the video shows that he was right there to capture everything we would want to see of our wedding day. Again, as with Peter, he knows what he is doing, enough to be able to give simple directions, and to pursue his own avenues to achieve our desired objective. Bottom line--he is an incredibly nice guy who really came through with a terrific piece of work.

We HIGHLY recommend Peter Podezwa and Kevin Hodap. They did great work for us and will make you very happy with your choice.

Wonderful!

Peter was wonderful to work with. He listened to what we wanted and gave us great advice. He handled the day-of timeline and made sure all of our vendors worked together. He brought a sense of calm and was patient when things went off schedule. He has already sent us a few photos and we LOVE every single one. We are so excited to see the final proofs. Highly Skilled Photographer

My wife and I had selected Light Impressions Photography for our wedding last fall -- and we couldn't be more pleased with the results!

Months prior to the wedding, we sat down with Peter to discuss what we were looking for in a photographer, and he was incredibly receptive. We offered plenty of options (e.g. black & white, etc.) and worked with us to determine how the night would be photographed. He even offered advice on uplighting, which drastically improved how the night (and our pictures!) turned out.

On the day of the wedding, Peter was incredibly organized. He knew exactly what to do in case of rain (which we did have!) and was excellent at capturing us in our most candid moments. Plus, during the ceremony and reception, you didn't even know he was there -- but he still managed to grab the best pictures. He was that good.

In the end, the pictures turned out gorgeous, and we couldn't recommend Light Impressions enough. Many thanks to Peter and his crew!

Beautiful photos!

We hired Light Impression for our wedding in October 2018 on recommendation from our venue and are so happy that we did! The pictures that Peter took of our big day are absolutely beautiful. He made us feel super comfortable from the first meeting up through the day of the wedding. He has a great system in place that helps the entire day/process run smoothly. We wrote out all of the posed photos we wanted with our family, friends, and wedding party so that no important pictures were missed. But he was also accommodating if we wanted to include more posed photos throughout the cocktail hour and reception. It took us about 6 weeks to see our photos but it was definitely worth the wait, there was a great balance of posed and candid photos. Peter is a true professional and really gives you a personalized touch.

Professional, Talented and a Pleasure to Work With!

This past November I got married in the Conservatory at the Madison Hotel. We booked Light Impressions shortly after setting our date based on Peter's incredible pictures and experience at this venue. In the time leading up to our big day, Peter & Colette were incredibly helpful with letting us know how the day would go, and providing very specific advice, that only someone who has been doing this for so long would know. My wedding day went by seamlessly, and I know it is in large part to Peter's ability to keep everything under control, and keep things moving along. He is extremely professional, but very personable and friendly. Our wedding pictures came out wonderful, and really captured the day the way we wanted it to. Not to mention, we got them back very timely! Even post-wedding thank yous & photo album planning has been great. You can't go wrong with Light Impressions!

We used Light Impressions for our wedding in July 2017. Peter was very easy to work with leading up to the event and on the day of the wedding. Peter from Lightimpressions Photography is very professional, patient explaining what he is going to do in covering the event , up till the final production of the Album. I asked him to come one hour before the party to take family pictures first. He came on time, and left when the party was over.

My Favorite part about Light Impressions was that our parents got to pick and design their own albums which most photographers give the parents the same exact album as the bride and groom. In addition, most photographers design the albums were as we had the artistic freedom to do as we please. I would recommend them and I will be using them for any future events. Thanks!

Light Impressions Photography is the BEST wedding photography company around. My wife and I couldn't be happier with ALL of the pictures that Peter and his partner took during our wedding day. Peter and Colette literally timed out our wedding day so everything would run smoothly and so we wouldn't miss our cocktail hour. Picking our wedding album was truly one of the hardest things to do since EVERY picture was amazing. Peter has a eye that truly captures some of the best moments. My older sister used Light Impression 12 years ago for her wedding and we were so happy that we were able to use them for ours. The first time we went to meet Peter and his wife Colette, my wife and I felt like we were part of their family. They were so welcoming and really do truly know how to run a successful business. The photographer and his partner were a lot of fun to work with and made sure that the true special moments were captured. From the moment we met Peter and his wife, Colette, at a bridal show, we knew that Light Impressions would be the perfect photographer for our wedding. Peter and Colette spent so much time with us explaining the different photo packages that we could choose from as well as all of the other options that we had when it came to photographing our special day. In the months leading up to our wedding, they were so responsive and patient (via phone and email) in helping us create a list of every portrait that we wanted Peter to take as well as helping us design a timeline for the day that enabled all of our photos to be taken without taking time away from our party. Peter and his assistant were very professional and so friendly with our families and friends on our wedding day. He kept the atmosphere fun while ensuring that he was able to capture every photo of the day and night without ever being pushy. Peter and Colette contacted us as soon as our wedding proofs were ready to view and we were able to see all of our photos in real 4 x 6 prints, organized into 2 beautiful boxes, not just online like most other photographers do! Many of the photos that we looked at were ones that we did not even remember having taken – we did not notice Peter taking a lot of the pictures which made them appear very natural and showed us truly “in the moment.” Again, Peter and Colette took so much time to explain how to go about ordering photos and portraits, designing parent albums, and selecting photos for our own album. They made the entire process from start to finish feel so personal and as though our wedding was as important of a day to them as it was to us. We are so fortunate that we chose Light Impressions to capture one of the most special days in our lives and that we will have all of our beautiful pictures to keep the memories alive forever.

Peter does more work beforehand so you have less to worry about on the day of your wedding. He also makes sure you have every shot you asked for beforehand because the day of will go by so quickly that you will forget everything. While Peter will take a few "standard" wedding party photos he won't take anything cheesy. You will get elegant photos that are artistic and natural. If you are booking him for the Madison Hotel his really knows the space so well!!

Peter and Light Impressions were ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHY COMPANY to work with. We met Peter at a wedding show and were impressed with the quality of his work. We booked him as our photographer and were very pleased with his professionalism, courtesy, patience with our questions, quality of his work, timeliness, and his knowledge of the industry. I simply cannot say enough when it comes to our experience with light impressions photography. Having an interest in photography myself, I was very picky when it came to choosing our wedding photographer. Additionally, a friend of ours recommended light impressions as they did her wedding, and she is a photographer as well. My husband and I knew from the day that we met Peter and Colette that light impressions would be the photographer for our wedding. Peter has the photographic eye that we were looking for and focuses more on the natural moments of the day rather than posed portraits. He made my husband who does not enjoy being photographed feel extremely comfortable and took wonderful shots of our day. Additionally, as a teacher I am extremely organized and knew exactly the photos I wanted taken (whether it be a pinterest idea or a large family photo) and Peter had a photo check list for us to fill out before our wedding day to ensure all of our pictures we taken. He even had an assistant with him to check off each photo as it was taken in order to make sure we had everything we wanted! Furthermore, I did a lot of DIY projects for my wedding and wanted all of that hard work captured in photos. Peter took it upon himself to get to the venue early and photograph what I wanted just to make us happy!
With light impressions photography, you not only get great quality photos (with real film in black and white) but you get a personable experience. Peter and his wife, Collette, were an absolute pleasure from the beginning. We met Peter at the bridal show at the Madison Hotel and he was extremely professional and had great samples. We then met Peter where he walked us through our package options and what to expect from him the day of the wedding. We even hired Pete for our engagement photos. He and his wife came to Hoboken for a beautiful photoshoot by the waterfront.

The week before the wedding, Pete called and walked us through the day, being specific with timings and the flow of the day, ensuring we had nothing to worry about. Peter arrived right on time, starting with casual getting ready pictures of the bridal party and then the First Look. Peter flawlessly transitioned between the various bridal party and parent groups for pictures ensuring he went through all the pictures we had requested. At the reception, we hardly noticed he was there, but he seemed to capture every important moment. A great part about Peter, different from other photographers, is that he stays until the very end, so he captured all the priceless dancing photos (he even got on a step ladder!).

The box of photos we received were spectacular from the formal bridal party photos to the candids. The black and white photos are also the best I have seen. We cannot wait to select our pictures and make our album!

Peter did an amazing job with my wedding! The way he tells a story with his photos is exactly what I was looking for as opposed to stage traditional photos. I was 100% happy with my photos and albums. He also makes you feel at such ease which is something you want when you are spending the day with a photographer and at the same time you barely knew he was there. Peter Podeswa with Light Impressions was the perfect photographer for any wedding! I had two ceremonies and a reception and he was able to capture amazing moments from the whole day! Even now when I look at my photos, I can relive the day because each photo tells a story. There were no intrusions and myself and my guests did not even know of their presence. My husband and I were married the Sunday following Super Storm Sandy. Even though that week was extremely stressful, Peter went out of his way to help calm our nerves and to make the day run smoothly. We actually had no electricity in our church, but you would have no idea from looking at our wedding photos. Peter did such a wonderful job especially given the circumstances. We were so happy with all of the photos that it was so difficult choosing which ones we would place in our album. Also, Peter's black and white photos are truly amazing. Peter is a very experienced photograph and he has great suggestions. He and his wife Colette made every step of this process absolutely wonderful. Peter is wonderful to have as your wedding photographer. He is not obtrusive and allows the couple to actually enjoy their big day without sticking a camera in your face. I saw a few of the shots he had taken at the wedding and they were all incredible shots. Either Peter has eyes in the back of his head because he seems to always be around for those pic taking moments or he has developed a sixth sense by now. We had a halloween themed wedding and Peter is probably considered a halloween expert by now after our shindig at the bretton woods mansion. Choose Peter.... His assistant is friendly and his wife is terrific....you will meet her when you go for your consultation. . I'm happy I chose light impressions... This is one of the few times in your life that you want pictures to be perfect. Peter takes pride in his work, you can just feel it when he's buzzing around snapping shots. Peter took beautiful pictures of our wedding that have a very natural feel and are not too "posed". He captured the feelings of the day and looking at the pictures brings back great memories of the day each time I look at them. One thing that I really liked about Peter, what that I never felt like he was in our faces taking pictures. It seemed like he was invisible at times, but he still got great pictures of things that I didn't even know were happening around us.

Peter & his assistant Kevin were fantastic to work with! Leading up to the wedding and at the wedding Peter was always very professional. At the wedding he made sure to take all of the photos/portraits with our famillies/bridal party that we requested and made sure that no time was wasted before our ceremony. During the ceremony and reception, Peter seemed to capture all the key moments without being intrusive at all. We've only seen a few pictures so far, but can't wait to get our proofs back and start putting together our album!

Their photography is absolutely beautiful! Peter is such a professional and knows his stuff. My family and I are so happy that we chose to use Light Impressions for my wedding. We first saw Peter's work at a wedding show and from his samples alone we knew he was exactly what we were looking for. He has a unique eye and his pictures are beautiful. He was great at capturing all the key moments without being intrusive. Other than the family photo shoot we had between the ceremony and reception, I forgot he was even there! I love that are pictures our not stiff and posed... they are nature and in the moment. We really feel like we can relive our day through his photographs. Also, being an artist he appreciates that quality of film photography and uses real film for his black and white photographs rather than just taking the color out of digital pictures. You can really see the difference. He also gives you the option of additionally using infared film and a fish-eye lens if you want even more original pictures. It was also so nice to meet with and talk to the actual photographer every time we were planning the day; rather than at some of the big photo companies where you don't even meet your actual photographer until the day of! Peter's wife Colette was also so amazing and helpful all throughout our planning process. We highly recommend Light Impressions!

Peter and Colette did a wonderful job. We just picked up our finished wedding album...and wow! This is a family memento we will cherish for a lifetime and well worth the cost. Our wedding was well covered and he was hardly noticable. He worked at our wedding location and knew the best spots for the perfect photos. We met Peter at a bridal show--his display stood out from all of the other photographers. When we visited his studio, we were blown away by the samples of portraits and albums from other weddings he had photographed--they were absolutely beautiful. It was a pleasure to have Peter be part of our wedding day--he made everyone feel completely at ease and helped make the day go smoothly. We got married a month ago and loved having Peter Podeswa photograph our wedding. He was attentive and supportive during the planning phases and during the wedding itself. He made great suggestions and planned each detail prior to the wedding so the day ran smoothly. We have not gotten any photos and it has been 5 weeks however....although I know these things take time, I would have loved a preview. Peter's work is fabulous and he was not intrusive at all during our wedding. I actually forgot he was there after the initial family portraits ! We selected Peter because of his fine work. My husband has been a screenwriter and knows film well. He trusted Peter's work. Several of our guests were film people, too, and photographers, and they were impressed with Peter's work during our wedding and reception. I did request one pic to put on thank you's I was making and needed to send out now, before the rest of the pics were ready, but couldn't get one for copyright reasons. I do understand Peter's position on this, but am disappointed nonetheless, since his work is more costly compared to other wedding photographers.

Peter was fantastic on our wedding day - his experience in not only wedding photography but weddings in general helped shape our day and made everything run smoothly. We loved his style of capturing real moments instead of posing us and family all of the time. He was able to capture photos from farther away too, not overwhelming us or our guests with cameras in your face. He is very traditional with his style and really works with you to make sure your album looks like you want it, not his own vision (although if you're not the creative type, he'll certainly help you out!). You have a ton of face time with him after the wedding to make sure the album is just how you want it.

He's very flexible with different photo packages and presents a lot of options.

One thing to note, would have been helpful to have information re: prices of individual photos beforehand (then again, I didn't think to ask about that at the beginning) for relatives that want specific photos only and not necessarily a full album.

My rating for responsiveness is <5 only because email is definitely not the way to contact them - and for me personally with my lifestyle and job, it's not always convenient to call. But if you leave them a voicemail they always call back if you have questions or concerns.

Peter and Colette were such a pleasure to work with. Their professionalism and great attitude made everything go smoothly and stress-free. Peter is truly an artist - there were virtually no "bad" pictures. He was also very knowledgeable about all the different film techniques and processes and I think his finished products look the most unique / personalized of any vendors that we had evaluated. Our only complaint is that access to digital prints was not included and we had to pay an extra fee (and we could only get about half of them posted), and I feel this is something that should be a basic inclusion these days.

Peter and his assistant took photos for my Nov 1, 2013 wedding. Before the wedding Peter and his wife were great to work with, they made the process easy. While Peter's prices are a little high I believe his work is well worth it. I have not received my photos yet but from the shots Peter showed me I know they are going to be great! I can not wait to see them. Best thing about Peter is that you really don't even notice him taking pictures during the reception!

Peter and Colette were a pleasure to work with. They were very personable, professional, and despite being very busy, were rather easy to touch base with when needed. They also spent a fair amount of time with you during appointments to discuss photography preferences, album layout, etc. Moreover, they have quality equipment that produces great pictures and isn't too clunky and in the way during the wedding day. The only downside would be the length of time it took to get our albums (16 months!). Overall however, they are great, and would recommend their work!

Peter and Colette were great to work with and our photos came out beautifully. We are still waiting to see our final album (my fault, I was slow in choosing photos!), but I am sure based on all the example albums that Peter shared with us that it will be beautiful. Peter captured all of our wedding details that we worked so hard on so that we have them in our images, which was wonderful. Professional, affordable, hands-on, caring, but a little old fashioned.

Peter and Collette were a pleasure to work with and offered an intimate hands-on experience each step of the way. When working with Peter you are working with someone who clearly loves his craft and tries very hard to ensure that his and your vision are part of your wedding day. Peter covered all the bases and we came away with many beautiful photos from our day. Peter was also great during the wedding reception and was right in the action (or at the top of a ladder) but did so subtlety and respectfully (unlike experiences I’ve seen at other weddings).

That being said, Peter is a little old-fashioned. If you are expecting instant gratification, fast turnaround and digital photos that you can share shortly after – than this may not be the best choice for you. Our photos were not available digitally for months after the wedding and only after request and some prodding. Our photos were beautiful and met expectations – however the modern touch ups and style of photography you’ve seen elsewhere are a little different from the style at Light Impressions.

Overall, Peter and Collette were a pleasure to work with. However, be cognizant of your expectations and the modern v. old-fashioned style.

We had a great experience with Light Impressions for photography on our wedding day. Peter and Colette did a great job working with us ahead of time to make sure that he captured all the moments that were important to us. The day of, Peter and his assistant kept us on track and did a great job capturing the moments, yet stayed in the background so we did not feel like our day was posed and we were able to enjoy ourselves. Our pictures turned out beautiful and we will treasure them for our lifetime. Light Impressions is the go to photographer for weddings in northern NJ, especially if at the Conservatory at the Madison Hotel. Our only complaint is that you will have to wait a few weeks to see the initial photos, then another few months to get the digital versions. The pictures are worth the wait!!!

When looking for a photographer, I asked several friends who had recently gotten married for a recommendation - none were willing to recommend theirs. I, however, am happy to recommend Light Impressions. They are a bit "old school" which may not appeal to everyone - those looking for more instant gratification in terms of prints / albums or more modern / artsy pics - but that does mean that the quality is high! Importantly, as photographers are with the bride all day long, Peter was very respectful of all that the day represented and was not too "in your face" as I have heard of other photographers. He worked with us to get the portraits done efficiently so we could enjoy the party. We were very happy with Light Impressions on the day of, when reviewed our proofs, and when we got our final album! Peter's wife Collette helps with the business side and she is a delightful person to work with throughout the process!

Peter's work is just beautiful! I felt like I would be in good hands, and he proved it on our wedding day. He and his assitant were very professional and our photos are gorgeous-especially the black and white ones. Peter uses actual B&W film instead of changing color photos via a computer, so they look extra perfect. I can't speak to our album yet as we haven't started working on it yet, but I would definitely recommend Peter for your wedding!

This is a husband and wife team. I chose Peter to be my photographer after I had seen many others. After sitting with at least 10 different photographers and seeing basically the same pictures over and over and ooooover again, I found Light Impressions. This guy is an artist. He takes beautiful pictures. I don't have my album back yet, but I'm confident that it will be gorgeous. The only problems I had were - it was just him, no assistant. I would have preferred another person there for more coverage. I saw Peter almost missing my father daughter dance when I watched my wedding video. That was a close one. Another problem I had was that he doesn't put the pictures online. He uses probably a 50/50 mix of digital and film photography, but even the digitals weren't put online for sharing. I have 3 boxes of proofs, which I'll have to scan one by one if I want to archive them on my computer. To me, having beautiful photographs was more important, so that's why I went with Peter and Light Impressions.

The photos of our wedding came out really nice. Our album came out really nice and the pictures look beautiful.

If you don't care about having your pictures online or right away after your wedding, go with Light Impressions. Peter and his assistant took beautiful pictures. His assistant took real black and white film which turned out awesome. The pictures were natural. Peter was great to work with on my wedding day and very professional. The issues were after my wedding. He told me he could put my pictures online, however later told me there was a charge. I got my proofs fairly quickly, but nothing digital. He told me, AFTER booking and after my wedding, that it takes 6 months from when we pick album pictures to produce the album. And then, and only after the album is created, do I get the digital pictures so I can put them online. This is not the modern way of doing things. My brother was married less than 2 months ago and has his pictures online already for family and friends to admire. Peter's pictures turned out great, but I want my prints right away to share and give as gifts.

Seeing higher ratings really makes me wonder if people were just trying to be nice. I can't fathom how my experience could have been so drastically different.

Our candid photos were generally terrible, and most of the portraits were the same. Black and white photos were really grainy and many of the other pictures had poor exposure, so at least if he gave us the digital negatives then I could have fixed some of them. I feel like half my wedding is missing from the final photos we saw, and many of the photos were either bad quality or just awkward/poor shots.

It took over a year to get our final product back, and with that said, it seemed as though he didn't even take the time to develop (adjust and touch up) any of the photos before sending everything out to get done by someone else. They didn't even bother to tell us when everything was ready.

Overall, everything was WAY too expensive for the quality of service. If I were you I would take my time and shop around and really do your research. At this point I feel like we would have been better off having an amateur friend take pictures and then just use shutterfly to make a book ourselves.
