I had a wonderful wedding gown shopping and tailoring experience at L’Fay! Alexis was wonderful to work with! She was so helpful and kind, and understood my style perfectly. She found my dream dress based on inspiration pictures that I sent ahead of my appointment! It was a very relaxed environment, and I appreciated that we could look through the selection of dresses ourselves. Nico was incredible and worked his magic for alterations, making multiple custom additions to the gown that were absolutely perfect! He added a custom bow and waistband, and made a pocket square for my husband out of fabric from the gown. I would absolutely recommend this shop!

Great experience!

My experience at L’Fay was exceptional! Out of the five bridal shops I visited, Alexis was hands down the best consultant I worked with. She was incredibly patient, attentive, and thoughtful—listening closely to my preferences and reservations, offering helpful + honest advice, and never making me feel rushed (even when I tried on the same dress multiple times just to be sure). Her positive energy and professionalism made the whole experience fun, comfortable, and completely stress-free. A special shoutout as well to Nico, who walked me through all my tailoring questions with so much knowledge and professionalism. I can’t recommend L’Fay enough to anyone starting their dress search!

Wonderful Experience!

I would highly recommend working with L’Fay bridal. In my initial appointment I worked with Lauren , I worked with Niko for follow up appointments, and I worked with Shauna for alterations. Lauren found me the most perfect and unique dress! I did not find anything similar to it at any other store and many other stores didn’t even carry it. Niko was so helpful making suggestions about how to line and wear the dress. Shauna made sure my dress was perfect before I left the store and she prioritized making me comfortable. I loved working with the team at L’Fay.

Amazing time.

Nico was my consultant, and he was an absolute joy to shop with! This was my first time wedding dress shopping, and I left with my dream wedding dress. His ability to make you feel so comfortable and beautiful (without being pushy) made me just know my dress was the one. He pushed me outside of my original idea with styles, and I'm glad he did, because the dress I picked was perfect for me and nothing like I originally wanted!

Lovely experience

Wonderful Wedding Dress Shopping Experience

L'Fay was the first bridal shop I visited when wedding dress shopping and it was by far the best one! Sarah was so lovely and really paid attention to my budget and style preferences when selecting dresses for me to try on. I actually ended up coming back to L'Fay at the end of the day and selecting the first dress I tried on - it was a winner! I also got my wedding jewelry here and I felt so beautiful on my wedding day! Had an amazing experience!

L’Fay was my 4th stop. I was hell bent on not going into the city for my dress because of all the fittings and picking up. When I scheduled they were having a @BertaBridal trunk show and when I tried on my gown I just knew. I am incredibly indecisive and always thought that you know when you know it was BS and it is not. I wanted an overskirt or detachable sleeves and I ended up going with a beautifully beaded cap sleeve dress with an extraordinary overskirt. Nico is AMAZING! Shauna the seamstress is so lovely, talented and patient. These dresses are stunning but not made for girls with any curves but after 5 fittings to make sure everything was perfect!

What a wonderful experience during these weird COVID times!

I cannot recommend L'Fay enough. Due to COVID - I was very delayed in looking for a wedding dress, and was becoming increasingly nervous that I wouldn't find one in time before my wedding in Feb 2021. Finally once things started opening up again, I heavily researched boutiques in the NYC/NJ area. I ended up calling L'Fay and scheduling an appointment at the NJ location, and after speaking on the phone with one of their employees, I had a warm feeling I was going to find my dress here. From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed, at ease, and safe! They carried out precautions in the nicest but safest way possible by taking temperatures when walking in, and made sure everyone kept their masks on the entire time. A reason I booked L'Fay is because they are the only bridal boutique in NJ that carries Berta - and let me say they have a HUGE Berta collection. My eyes lit up the moment I walked in the store! The first dress I tried on was a Berta I saw within the first few minutes of being in the shop. Although it was over budget, I couldn't get this dress out of my head. Mikeala was helping me, and she was beyond nice, patient, and not pushy whatsoever. I would recommend her to any bride looking for the perfect gown. She happily let me try on numerous dresses and did not make me feel rushed or like I needed to make a decision right away at all. She made the entire experience a pleasure, despite how uncertain everything is feeling right now!! I had another bridal appointment the same week, and had the exact opposite experience of the one mentioned above. I called Mikeala a few days later to order the Berta. Go with L'Fay!

The Perfect Experience!

I am so happy I was able to find my dream dress at L'Fay. If you want a personalized, boutique experience, this is the place for you!! My appointment at L'Fay came after a disappointing experience at a larger store. I loved that I was able to walk around and hand pick every dress I wanted to try on at L'Fay. I never felt rushed or pressured...I truly was able to take my time and take it all in. As luck would have it, my dream dress was actually the last dress left in the dressing room to try on! The stunning Matthew Christopher design was everything I ever dreamed of. The minute I saw myself in the mirror I suddenly felt like a true bride. The attention to detail and intricacy was beyond gorgeous. My experience at L'Fay only got better with my alterations and fittings. Shauna, my seamstress, was incredible. My dress fit like a glove...as if Matthew Christopher himself came to sew the dress for me personally. She even created a custom bustle feature to help my bustle work perfectly with my dress. Her work blew me away. I am STILL getting compliments on my dress!! Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience!

A Gem of a Boutique!

My daughter's wedding was last month (9/15/19) and she got her beautiful wedding gown at L'Fay. We had visited a larger bridal shop and were really not happy with the selection of dresses. We decided to try L'Fay and we were not disappointed! What a fabulous gem of a wedding boutique! The shop is big enough to offer a wide variety of wedding gowns while being small enough to truly give the bride a personalized and intimate shopping experience. Sarah, the sales associate who assisted my daughter, was helpful, patient, and friendly...as was Maddie who helped us with scheduling appointments for fittings and so on. My daughter chose an exquisite Matthew Christopher dress that was pure perfection! Shauna, her seamstress, was nothing short of amazing! She worked carefully and expertly to alter the dress where needed and listened to our feedback every step of the way. From beginning to end, the L'Fay experience was wonderful. I would highly recommend this boutique...particularly for those who are a bit tired of the hustle and bustle of the larger stores. L'Fay had a calm, no-pressure, relaxing approach to helping my daughter find the dress of her dreams... and made her feel really special!

The Perfect Dress

The salon has a zen-like peacefulness and I found it fun and relaxing to try on the wedding gowns. The staff is accommodating, enthusiastic, and helpful. My sales girl, Maggie, helped me find a dress that I loved and resonated with my style. She had a good eye and helped me pick out a sash and veil that complemented the dress. The alterations were done to perfection so that my gown fit me beautifully, and comfortably. Our wedding ended at 5:00 p.m. and afterwards we hung out at a hotel bar with some of the traveling guests. By then everyone had changed out of their formal attire but my gown was so comfortable and so “me,” I stayed in it until I went to bed!

Beautiful and personal experience

I had a wonderful experience with L'Fay. Mikeala was so great to work with -- the salon is beautiful and they always made sure it was a quiet and personal experience when I came to try dresses and for fittings. At my final fitting, the dress had a few final touches needed which the seamstress handled within the hour to ensure I could still take home the dress that day. I tried on dresses at a few different places but L'Fay made the experience feel the most special.

A really wonderful experience

I loved L’Fay! My Mom was very sick at the time I was shopping for my wedding dress and could not be with me at the appointment. Patti was extremely understanding and patient as I tried to find "the dress" without my number one person there with me. I only had a few short months between looking for a dress and the ceremony. Patti made sure my expectations were realistic and helped me find a dress that could be altered in time for the big day. I also want to point out the seamstress, Anita, was wonderful to work with. She helped coach me and my bridesmaids through the best bustle technique and gave honest feedback on how the dress fit. Patti and Anita also went above and beyond when it came to the veil. I had requested that my Mom's wedding dress be made into my veil. Not knowing if this was even possible, I brought the dress in so Patti and team could review and ensure they could find a section of fabric that would work. They found viable fabric and turned it into a beautiful veil. I am so, so appreciative of the kindness and patience of the L'Fay staff and recommend them to my friends and family every chance I get.

L’fay was the 2nd out of 3 dress shops that I went to. They were not pushy, left me time to decide, and gave me so many tips along the way. Their alterations department is the best, even after I broke the zipper on the dress at my 2nd fitting (oops). I even got champagne when I decided that the dress was the one. They were really flexible with scheduling and just overall a joy to work with.

The absolute best! After more than 10 different bridal salons in 4 different states, L'Fay finally made me feel like a bride. My consultant listened to what I wanted and only brought me dresses that fit my description. I was dead-set on an off the should style a-line/ball gown dress and she did not try to talk me out of it like so many other consultants I met with at different salons. I felt very special and taken care of while I was there and almost cried when I received a hand-written note congratulating me on my wedding and choosing a gown. Fittings were effortless and the seamstress is AMAZING. She created the most beautiful bustle on a dress that had a very long train and unique shape. I couldn't have been happier with my experience.

L'Fay Bridal is nothing short of amazing! I was worried that I wouldn't find a dress that fit my vision, but Mikeala made it happen! The dresses and accessories that L'Fay carries are beautiful and of superior quality -- their merchandise was the best by far out of the bridal shops I visited. One of my favorite things about L'Fay is the way that they schedule appointments. During my shopping trips and fittings, I was the only bride there, which made me feel super comftorable to try things on without feeling crowded. In addition, the staff always made my family and friends that accompanied me feel welcome! As I live in Virginia (but am from New Jersey) I was only able too make it for fittings on certain occasions -- the ladies at L'Fay always worked with me to schedule appointments that fit my crazy schedule. I highly recommend L'Fay -- so many options and you will be in great hands!

My experience at L'Fay was superb! After visiting a number of other bridal salons and feeling either rushed or treated like just another average bride, I made an appointment with Patti at L'Fay. They do not overbook so I truly felt I was getting the attention I deserved. Patti helped me find the most perfect wedding dress and called me the moment it came in. My fittings were carefree and they did a fabulous job making sure I was comfortable. I highly recommend L'Fay Bridal, but especially making an appointment with Patti.

L'fay Bridal is simply the best. They were the first place I went to and I was sold. Finding your wedding dress is one of the most stressful parts of wedding planning but they are so patient and accommodating. They never make you feel rushed and the small/intimate setting makes the experience that much more special. I worked with Patty, who is one of the most sincere, funny, and kindest women I have ever met. She gives you her honest opinion and really puts you at ease. Peggy, who did my alterations, did a phenomenal job and really listened to what I wanted and made all the changes in a timely manner. I cannot thank them enough for making my day that much more special!!!

I had my eye on a Berta Bridal gown for a long time and was ecstatic to find out L'Fay Bridal was having a Berta Bridal Trunk Show. Juliana was my consultant for the day and she assisted me with trying on not only Berta designs but a few others just to get a true idea of what I would love. I was so happy to have said yes to the dress! The staff was so friendly and inviting. I put that poor seamstress through some work especially a few days before my wedding day at my final fitting. I still wasn't 100% satisfied with the back of my dress and she was able to fix it perfectly in two days to ensure I would have it ready for my big day! I was so pleased with their service and would definitely recommend them to any future brides to be!

I cannot say enough good things about L'Fay Bridal in Chatham, NJ. I wanted a Berta Bridal wedding dress, and I made an appointment for the trunk show there in April 2016. We drove 2 and a half hours to come to L'fay, because of their great reviews and let me tell you they did not disappoint! The appointment was personalized and not to mention a lot of fun! I felt so welcomed and comfortable, and their opinions were so helpful and honest! I purchased my dream Berta wedding gown and could not wait for it to come in! Their accommodations for the fittings with our travel time and my busy schedule were extremely helpful. I thought I couldn't love my dress more than when I purchased it, but when it was customized by the seamstress I was in awe! When you spend thousands on a wedding gown it is extremely important to have a top notch seamstress, and I am certain that they have the best one out there! She is absolutely AMAZING, and her work is impeccable. She thought of every detail of the wedding night and the functionality of the dress. I cannot thank the entire team at L'Fay enough for making my entire wedding gown experience comfortable, relaxed, and enjoyable! I would recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing gown with a fun and personalized experience!

You feel like a VIP from the moment you walk in the door. I worked with Patti who was amazing. From my first visit to the store they make sure you feel comfortable and fully put together when trying on dresses. When I selected my dress, they go above and beyond to make it perfect for you. I had a belt added to my dress which the tailor sewed in perfectly. My dress had a complicated bustle in the back and she made sure to provide detailed instructions on how to bustle it correctly after my ceremony. I would go back there every time if I could.

I purchased my wedding gown and veil from L'Fay Bridal and the process from start to finish was absolutely fabulous!! Patty helped me pinpoint exactly what I was looking for in terms of style and fit and was extremely repsonsive any time I had a question. The collection of dresses was stunning. When my perfect dress arrived, the multiple fittings went smoothly, and everyone was extremely knowledgeable and professional. The seamstress is a gooddess! Everyone at L'Fay was super nice, very welcoming - and it is a lovely shop. They make you feel very comfortable spending a lot of money on one dress. They were prompt at communicating and had really quality dresses in my budget - I definitely wanted to be under $3000. If you're in the NJ area, it's worth a stop by.

I purchased my wedding dress from L'fay for my wedding recently on 9/3/16. The experience is like no other, it was so personal and private which made it even more special when i said "yes!" They even offered to steam my veil for me before i picked it up 2 days before my wedding. They were a pleasure to work with, truly amazing!

Of the several various stores I went to looking for a wedding gown, which included big name bridal stores, the BEST experience I've had was at L'Fay in Chatham, NJ! Patti and Jeanie were amazing to work with! They understood what I was looking for, how to add little custom pieces to my gown, and were so incredibly nice and sweet. I recommend them to anyone who is looking for an exquisite shopping experience with beautiful gowns and alterations that are unlike any other bridal store.

From the moment I called I knew I was going to have a phenomenal experience at L'Fay. I made my appointment with Patti, who was very accommodating with my busy schedule. She made a 5:30 pm appt knowing the store closes at 6:00 pm. I already purchased a dress from another boutique and was dissatisfied. I explained my concerns with Patti over the phone and she left me feeling very confident about our appointment. The boutique is in a quaint location with a private lot. They have a number of dresses on the floor and more in the back. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted by Patti who offered myself, Mom, and younger sister a beverage while we waited for her to finish her previous appointment. About 5 min later we began our consultation. I reminded Patti of my concerns and goal of the appointment. I tried on the first dress that caught my eye at in the store. Needless to say about an hour later I was signing the contract and had my dream dress!! I was very pleased with her professionalism, understanding, and thoroughness. Although we were in the studio past normal business hours, we never felt rushed at any moment while we were there. When the dress came in, the cup size was probably two sizes two small. The seamstress, Jennie totally transformed the top of the dress and literally made into a custom gown. I am beyond impressed with her capabilities and desire to make it as perfect as I wanted it to be.

This store also has an extensive Berta selection, so for brides looking for that designer L'Fay is perfect.

If you are looking for an intimate moderate to high priced boutique with personable and friendly staff L'Fay is the place for you!

I cannot say enough good things about L'Fay. I just had the most wonderful, personalized experience. Patti in particular is just amazing. My dress was absolutely stunning. Aditionally, the seamstress was amazing. I lost a lot of weight through the months leading up to my date, so we had some work to do. Everything came perfectly. From the moment we stepped into L'Fay we were treated like gold. Patti helped me with my dress, veil, sash and hair accessories. Everything went beautifully together. Also, she was so accomodating and warm from start to finish. These past 6 months working with her have just been incredible, so accomodating and helpful. My mother and I were actually sad the last day picking up the dress because it would be our last appointment with Patti! Just an A+++ experience all around.

My sister bought her dress here, and it was one of two boutiques I wanted to go to. Laura was so accommodating with my appointments, and I even needed to change it a few times. I never ended up going to the second boutique as I found my dress after trying on only five. The reason I really wanted to buy here is because their seamstress is AMAZING. Jeanie, their seamstress, is a miracle working and such a pleasure to work with. When my gown came in in June, it was too small and wouldn't zipper. I had gained about 10-15lbs since purchasing my dress, but when we placed the order, we figured that would happen since I had just had surgery. The size they ordered was correct (6), because if they had ordered an 8, taken it in would have compromised the shape. Jeanie worked diligently over 2 appointments to make sure she got the dress to fit perfectly. Laura is no longer with them, but Patti is equally as amazing. I was so scatter brained the week of my wedding I FORGOT TO PICK MY DRESS UP! They stayed there a little late for me to come get it a few hours after my missed appointment. They are the best!

There are no words that can explain how wonderful Patty from L'fay bridal has made my experience of purchasing a wedding gown. I went to every bridal shop in the tri state area and the service I was greeted with at L'fay is by far the greatest. She had brought in a sample of a gown that was at the top of my list to compare to others I was going to try on and really listened to what I wanted. From the treats, to accommodating a last minute pop in, to the pep talk in the dressing room to focus on what I want and what I love, to the purchasing of a beautiful dress that I am in love with L'fay is the best. There are not enough adjectives to describe the beauty of my gown, the professionalism of Laura my consultant, and the detail of Nina the seamstress. I am the type of person that needs to know I tried on every dress in the tri-state area before actually making a decision. L'fay was the second store I visited and the one and only gown that made my mom cry. She knew it was the one from the beginning, but I guess I was a typical girl and of course wanted to keep playing dress-up during the best year of my life. Laura at l'fay is amazing. She knew I needed to figure things out for myself and was more than happy to accommodate me any way that she could. I went to nine stores in total for my wedding gown, constantly going back to l'fay to try the one particular gown on, the one that made my mom cry. Finally, while at another gown store, I realized the inevitable, the gown at L'fay was the one ! I immediately left the shop I was in, got in the car and called Laura at L'fay cheering that I knew her gown was the one. She told me to come by and see it again! She was more than flexible and accommodating. That entire year, Laura would call me with updates on my gown and would return my calls promptly as well. My gown was French lace and therefore made in France. Nina, l'fay's seamstress is efficient, a professional and on top of her game. A detail didn't get by her and she made sure I was fitted to a 'T' and that my dress looked as beautiful as it should. Every girl needs to find "her gown" and "the one" right for them personally. If you can find your gown at L'Fay, I promise it will be a beautiful engagement and prepping experience. Laura became a friend, someone I felt comfortable with and looked forward to chatting with. The store is a boutique, so you are the only bride in the store and the attention is on YOU!! It's a once in a lifetime experience and thanks to L'Fay, I felt like a princess the entire year leading up to my wedding. THANK YOU LAURA AND NINA!!!!

My daughter chose to come in from California to go wedding dress shopping. This was her first day shopping and we went to one other bridal shop before coming to L'Fay. I cannot list ALL the praises we have for Laura, who assisted us. They had a wonderful selection of inventory to chose from at all different price points. We told her our budget and she showed my daughter a variety of styles to choose from. Laura took the time to talk to her about the venue, type of wedding she envisioned, about her fiance as well. After getting a good feel for the wedding my daughter was planning, she actually pulled a dress for her to try on having a great understanding of her body type & the look she was trying to achieve. We went no further...that was the perfect dress & we bought it that same day. The experience my daughter had was wonderful, and that is all a reflection on not only the exceptional customer service Laura provided but also the person she is to care about understanding "who" her bride is and "what" the bride hopes her wedding day will be. L'Fay is such an amazing bridal store! I purchased my wedding dress here for my wedding in October. The store is beautiful and clean. The dresses are hung up around the perimeter of the store so you can easily see them all without struggling to push your way through racks and racks of dresses and hangers. The dresses themselves are beautiful and very reasonably priced.

The staff is AMAZING. I made an appointment and brought along some of my sisters and my mother. Laura, who works at L'Fay Chatham, was so kind and accommodating from the moment we walked in the door. The first bridal store I went into was not happy that I brought people along, but Laura could not have been more welcoming and kind to them. She is so great at her job, incredibly helpful, honest, sweet - I can't say enough good things.

This is the place you want to come to get your dress. They remember your name and your dress. You're not just a number that they try to get in and out of there. They also respect your budget and don't judge. I would HIGHLY recommend this bridal store to anyone looking to have the best possible dress-shopping experience!

LAURA IS AN ABSOLUTE DOLL!!!! I have finally purchased my wedding gown after months of trying on gowns. I went everywhere and was not happy. From the service to the gorgeous gowns, you simply can not go wrong at L'Fay. It is a personal experience and Laura is honest. She's very humble and sweet. I wish every vendor was a great as they were to me. The next day after I purchased my gown, I was not sure about the color and Laura guided me to the perfect choice. I am so happy and thrilled that I choose L'Fay Bridal. They actually care about you from the purchase of the gown to your wedding day. I choose L'Fay Bridal because my fiance decided to get involved after not finding my wedding gown and found this amazing bridal salon. We read all the reviews and this was rated #1 in New Jersey. The moment I walked in, I knew why! The gowns are all very clean and the store in gorgeous. Other bridal stores I went into the dresses were very yellow and the lace was torn. The service compared to other salons does not even compare. Everywhere else its clear to see that sale in more important than anything else. It's a very big decision and I feel that consultants should be more understanding and warm. Instead at other salons, I was being pushed to gowns I did not like. This was a wonderful experience. Even now, almost two months later, I found my dress online and the bottom seemed more full on a different bride than the one I tried on. I called Laura and she put me completely at ease. That it was going to be exactly how I wanted it. I am so happy and I just wanted to thank Laura. If you are stuck and think you won't find your dress, come here!!!! My maid of honor and I have spent the last two weeks making appointments for me to try on wedding dresses. We ended up at L'Fay and both agreed that we LOVED the shop! Laura was awesome to work with. She was down to earth and really knew her inventory.. She was open to making changes on the dresses to suit my body type as well as make the dress "my own" by adding details to the dress. Some shops were really opposed to that and felt that the designer wouldn't appreciate the changes. This store focused more on the bride, and less on the designer's vision. The dresses were reasonably priced and Laura did not show me anything out of my price range, unlike almost all of the other stores I visited. Laura agreed when dresses didn't compliment my figure and suggested beautiful dresses that would. I fell in love with a dress in the store once I was able to put my own personal touches into the dress and I couldn't be happier. My mother agreed that the dress was perfect and Laura was the girl to buy from. She was patient and genuine. Thanks again Laura!!

My experience with the team at L'Fay Bridal was amazing. Getting married and being a bride can be quite a stressful time, but the ladies at L'Fay made everything effortless for me. The night I got engaged I went on my laptop and started looking up dresses (can you tell I was excited?). I searched unique wedding dresses and dresses by Cymbeline Paris showed up. The first dress I saw wound up being the one I fell in love with online and in person, and also wound up being the dress I wore when I married my love. The staff helped me in making the best decision on what dress looked best on me. It fit like a glove the day of the wedding. I also purchased mine and my mother's wedding day jewelry and also my veil from L'Fay. People are still talking about my dress and accessories!! My husband and I were fortunate enough to have our wedding published in Manhattan Bride Magazine where I was lucky to show off my beautiful dress. Thank you, L'Fay. I had a great experience at L’Fay Bridal. I did not know what to expect and I was not sure what silhouette I wanted.
Laura was patient and walked me through the different collections and pulled what she thought would best flatter my shape as well as venue. I am getting married in a beautiful vineyard this summer. The first one she suggested was a stunning vintage inspired lace gown that looks much better on than on the hanger! The best part is it is so light and comfortable. I love it ! We talked about adding a colored sash to it as part of my alterations to tie in it with my bridal party. I feel that I have received special personalized attention and have been please d so far by everyone at this charming bridal store.

Patty was amazing! From the moment I met her she made me feel so comfortable and at ease during a fun/difficult proccess. Her knowledge and background in bridal fashion truly showed throughout the appointment. She was so attentive and unbelievably helpful ( I can't remember how many dresses I tried on!) I left the store purchasing a dress I "thought" I wanted but a week later I had regrets. I called Patty right away explaining my perdicament and she was so understanding. She let me come back in the next week and try on the dress I knew I should have chosen the first time!

Their store is intimate and elegant. The lace dresses are unbelievable. Not only are you getting gorgeous fabrics but all at a reasonable price! You have the whole salon to yourself for the appointment. To me, having the store to myself made my experience that much better. In no way did I feel like another costumer or "sale".

I strongly recommend a visit to L'Fay/Cymbeline and hopefully your experience will be as amazing as mine! Thanks L'Fay & Patty! I cannot wait to start my fittings!

Nico was great!

I visited three bridal shops and found my dress at L'Fay. The attendant I was originally working with left the firm and no one else followed up with me. I only found out after my planner contacted the store and asked for an update. Nico took over and he was awesome to work with. I was concerned that the dress would not arrive with enough time for alterations, but it ended up arriving on time and I was able to schedule an express fitting in the New York location with one of their in house tailors.

Since I was planning an NJ wedding from California, my mom was in frequent communication with Nico to arrange for picking up the dress, getting advice on the best tailor option, and setting up the alteration appointment.

I thought the flat fee for alterations was overpriced, especially since I had minimal alterations done, but I ended up paying for the convenience of only having to go in once for the fitting and once to pick up the dress 3 weeks later.

Overall, I'm very happy with how the dress turned out!

Personable, easy experience finding my dream dress!

Highly recommend L'Fay for anyone in North Jersey looking for a wide variety of wedding dresses at reasonable prices. I found my dream dress because Mikeala encouraged me to keep trying options just to see what I liked - and she made sure I'd be able to order from Europe even with uncertainty due to COVID lockdowns. She and her staff were not pushy about one dress or making a sale - they wanted to know how I was feeling throughout the process. I felt safe and taken care of as soon as I walked through the door - you get your temperature taken and wash your hands upon arrival, and everyone wears a mask. Go to L'Fay and you'll feel welcome, supported and understood!

I had been to two other bridal salons before visiting L'Fay, and just hadn't found anything that felt special enough to me. Based on browsing some of the collection on their website, I decided to give L'Fay a try, since it seemed like they had some more interesting / unique gowns. Once I visited, I saw that that part was definitely true, as they had a lot of options that were unlike the gowns I'd seen at other salons.

I worked with Patti, and she was absolutely fantastic -- really helpful with ideas, but let me guide the session and what I liked / didn't like, plus she was very patient when I started to get frustrated about the gown I loved not being *quite* perfect for me. In the end, we did a bit of a customization to take what was essentially a sheath style (at least on the model) and add some body to make it more of a fit and flare. I was a bit nervous about whether it would turn out the way I envisioned, but the seamstress we worked with at L'Fay was amazing! Her work was meticulous and flawless, and she totally brought my dream gown to life. I can't recommend her highly enough.

L' Fay in Chatham is amazing! I'm getting married this summer so my mom and Sister joined me past weekend to go dress shopping. L' Fay was our first stop of the day and we wound up spending almost 2 hours there! Laura was absolutely wonderful. She made us all feel the way you want to feel when you're a bride- special! She was patient, encouraged me to try on everything, and was completely indulgent of my needs to debate the qualities of every dress!

I went to L’Fay Bridal because I saw online that the dresses were gorgeous. I had my mind on one dress that caught my eye and tried many others. I liked many which was already different from other places where I didn’t like a single one. Renata was so nice and seemed sincere. I felt at ease with her. Then...I found the one! This boutique is wonderful with a beautiful selection of dresses. My bridal stylist was sweet, attentive and did her best to find me the perfect dress. I found the store to be impeccable, the service outstanding and the dresses stunning. This was the most amazing experience. Of course the dresses were beautiful, but:
- The sales staff were not just selling... they were excited for me and just really wanted me to try on anything that even slightly caught my eye.
- They listened and after they saw what I was liking and disliking, they pulled things with their knowledge and expertise that were unexpected and perfect.
- I didn't feel pressured or swayed. They stepped back and let me have some space to think.

I checked out several places for my wedding dress, until I found L'Fay bridal while searching through google and the wedding websites. The first time I went there, I met with Laura who was very nice and made me feel very comfortable. They do not have a huge selection but they definitely have a variety which I liked because I was able to detect which ones I really wanted to try on without having to select from hundreds and hundreds of dresses. As soon as I saw and tried on my dress, I knew it was the one. I did not buy it the first time, and the price was exactly what I was looking to spend. I did not buy the dress the first time I tried it on, I went to another shop and tried on a few dresses just in case I found something else - BUT 2 weeks later, I went back to L'Fay and bought the dress. I felt extremely confident and beautiful in the dress. L'Fay bridal seamstress customized the dress to fit me very well, the whole process from me buying the dress in November, receiving the dress in March, and then fittings, I took the dress home early May - my wedding day was at the end of May. They also have beautiful wedding veils. I went with a cathedral veil 120 ft long and a blusher, but I had it made and customized the same way I saw it at L'Fay, elsewhere, because it was WAY too expensive at L'Fay bridal for both. Overall, the shop was beautiful, filled with beautiful dresses and I was glad that I checked out L'Fay bridal, because I LOVED my dress.

My experience at L'Fay was everything I hoped shopping for my wedding dress would be. From the time I called to schedule an appointment the staff was kind and considerate. Great Experience at L'fay bridal in Chatham! I loved that they let me try on what ever styles I wanted to try on vs. other bridal salons needed to choose for you. They have a great selection of unique, beautiful gowns at many price levels. You have to pay a standard $500 alterations fee regardless of how much work you need to have done. I found that comparable to most places I visited in NY/ NJ. All of the sales team were so nice, flexible and eager to make you happy.

Worst experience of a lifetime!

I have reviewed this boutique on several other sites. Goggle, Yelp, Facebook, etc. but I feel that this needs to be written on a Bridal site so that no girl ever has to through what I went through the month up to my wedding and on the day of. It has been a year and a half since my wedding and I am still sick to my stomach and am still so upset when I look at the pictures! I visited this location which was beautiful and started working with a lovely consultant Juliana who told me they could order any dress from the designers even if not in their store. I had found the perfect Pronovias gown at the Flagship store, but preferred to buy it closer to home. Juliana had left and assured me I was in good hands with consultant Patty. I came an placed the order a year and a half before my wedding. I ordered an organza gown and was told it would be in the April before my wedding as they do not like to keep them there far before the wedding. I called in June to check on the status and was told the dress was still at the port coming from Barecelona... Only to later find out the dresses come from PA. After many phone calls and run arounds. I was told the dress would be there end of August beginning of September for my October wedding. I called in September on the date of my scheduled appointment to confirm the dress had come in and I received a call from Patty telling me it just got delivered that day, but there was an issue and it was the tulle instead of Organza, but she wanted me to come try it for size anyway... The dress looked totally different, but she assured me she could order it in the right material and have it there within 1 week.... She asked of photos of the gown. This made m very uncomfortable and made me start to ask questions. My step-mother then told her I must see the tulle and organza side by side when it arrived. Upon the arrival of the "new dress" I went to try it on. THIS WAS NOT A PRONOVIAS GOWN! This was a bodice they ordered and a skirt they had one of the seamstresses make in the back! IT WAS NOT THE SAME!!! One look at a photo and you could tell! Furious and sick to my stomach I left! My stepmom contacted Patti and told her we wanted our money back. She asked us to come in after hours and allowed me to try on other dresses that were in her location. She was willing to let me pick anything to fix the situation. I picked a beautiful Michael Christopher dress that did cost more than my original dress. It was a little tight, but she assured me there was plenty of room for it to be let out. Well now we move onto alterations! The woman who let the dress our started pinning things and I said we should let out and see how it falls before pinning, cutting and sewing. Next fitting I could not even zip the dress. She let the dress our and cut under my arms and sewed it and it was now too tight! The alteration nightmares went on for the following weeks until it was the weekend before the wedding! The dress would not come close to my dress you could throw quarters down my dress from across the room! The back as so tight it turned red. Patti asked us to let them make it right... What had we been doing for weeks and months before? THE ONLY FIX was letting the dress out from the front. WHICH THE SEAMSTRESS SAID WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA AS IT WOULD MAKE THE FRONT TOO LOOSE! WELL... IT DID JUST THAT! This changed the entire look of the dress that I settled for. On the day of my wedding not only was I not in my dream dress I was in a second best with botched alterations that looked nothing like the dress I tried on! My chest was on display all day and night for my guests. I was uncomfortable dancing. My photographer had an impossible time trying to compensate for this in photographs and most of them are ruined! I contacted the higher ups at this company multiple times. I wrote letters, sent photos and was told the most they could do was preserve the dress. I asked for invoices. The invoices they sent were whited out and wrong dates! This place is a joke! The showroom may be beautiful and they may have super sweet (fake) consultants, but they DO NOT CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They do not fix their mistakes or compensate for them! When I thought it could not get any worse...Upon telling a friend my story- it seems she had a similar experience! DO NOT GO HERE LADIES! I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!!!!!!

While they have great sales people, the in house seamstress RUINED my dress and then said "whoops - I rushed, my mistake." I have photos before they "fixed it" with my dress having a "witch's costume" hemline.
They were able to "fix" the hemline by calling in another seamstress and having her spend more than 3 hours with me, including constant measuring, to make my dress 4" shorter than it should have been in the first place. They then credited me back the alteration fees and promised something additional to come via text and email which never happened.

Since that time (June 2018), I've tried dealing with a number of people there and they have pushed me back and forth in communication over and over again, stalling. In the end, no additional credit was given. While having a dress 4" shorter was something I made work with shorter heels and no floor length photos taken, it's a complete disgrace the company couldn't have figured out some way to make things "right." Paying 100% of a dress that you're missing inches from the bottom is not right.

Hello, I am not typically one to write bad reviews, but I am writing this so nobody else goes through what I went through hours before I walked down the aisle. I purchased a beautiful wedding dress at L'Fay Bridal for $3,000. This cost inculded alterations and taxes. Unfortunatley for me the zipper on the back of the dress was defective, and broke hours before walking down the aisle, essentially ruining a wedding day that cost $45,000. The zipper had originally broken during one of the fittings at L'Fay Bridal, but we were told it was a a "cheap zipper" and we paid extra for L'Fay paid to have it replaced. For such an expensive dress, I still don't understand why it would come with a "cheap zipper". Anyway, we paid $400 in alterations, and L'Fay promised to replace the zipper with a better quality zipper. This zipper was not replaced, but just sewen back on. Looking back it's so frustrating because I was thinner on my wedding day that I was at any fitting so there is no reason the zipper should have broken. So, there I am on my wedding day stainding in a huge ball gown dress that had a broken zipper up the back showing everything from the top of the corset all the way down to my underwear.

I called L'Fay and they were not able to help at all, so we ended up hiring an emergency seamstress to literally sew me into the dress. We ended up paying extra to all vendors (the band, the limo, the officiant, etc) because of the delay this caused.

The worst part for me was when I called L'Fay after the wedding, they sent an e-mail telling me this was unfortunate, and that sometimes these things happen. Then they told me I was lucky this didn't happen during my first dance! I was shocked. So, fair warning to any bride who uses this store.

I had several appointments for wedding dresses scheduled for the first week of August and L'Fay in Chatham, NJ was by far the least impressive of all stores. The selection is mediocre at best - there seemed to only be a handful of designers. After I explained to the salesperson what I was interested in (beaded lace, fit and flare), she continued to bring me dress after dress in ball gown, sheath and tulle (which I specifically stated I did not want). Everything was just random. In addition, if you are above a size 8-10 in regular dress sizes, don't even bother walking into this store. I'm normally a 10-12 and absolutely nothing fit. The sales person stated that they have clients of all shapes and sizes come into the store and often make purchases by simply "holding the dress up" to get an idea as to how it would fit. Who does that when purchasing a wedding dress!? I would not recommend this store to anyone.

My best friend just got married this past saturday and had nothing but trouble beginning with the first fitting with this boutique. Everytime she had a fitting, they cancelled on her and it had to be rescheduled. Nothing was ever ready by the date the boutique said it would be and they were horrendous at communicating with the bride. When the bride had to have major surgery two months before her wedding, they were not flexible or understanding when SHE had to cancel and reschedule. In addition to all of this, they never had the alterations done that they said they would by the scheduled fittings and they continuously lied. When she piicked up the veil, that was supposed to be specially ordered, it was a piece of tulle unevenly cut, which had to be redone just weeks before the wedding AND they continued to charge her more despite all the problems they were causing. In addition to this, when she attended her final fitting, just DAYS before the wedding, the dress was a mess. It had stains on it (as if they were allowing others to try on her "one of a kind", specially made, dress) and the alterations that had been made were a disaster. With only days until her wedding, the seamstress "hijacked" the dress to "fix" it. Not only were they not offering to pick up any of the cost, they also were not staying in communication with the bride. Everytime she discussed the situation, it was always, "Well we need to discuss this with all of the managers and we will call back at such and such a time"- EVERYTIME she had to call them because they did not call her when they said they would. The Bride's parents had to finally get involved, at which point the manager finally responded and luckily the dress was fixed in time. However for the prices they charge- the unprofessionalism you, and the added stress they caused for my friend's wedding was absolutely NOT worth it! I would not recommend this place to any bride to be!
