Lewis was great to work with from the start. He didn't just tell us the services he offered, he told us about his philosophy on photography and what he tries to capture with each wedding.

Lewis was great to work with! It seemed like he was everywhere and captured so many great moments. He was with us for a long time and gave me more pictures than I had anticipated and I got them back very quickly.

My outdoor wedding happened to fall on a rainy day, but Lewis was still able to take hundreds of GORGEOUS pictures!!

Lewis is so wonderful! When we first started searching photographers for our big day, we almost choked when we saw the average cost! I noticed how reasonable Lewis's fees are and how great his photos were, and contacted him immediately. He was quickly responsive to any and all questions, offered great advice on makeup and photos to have done - he is a quiet, thoughtful, and artistic man who clearly is passionate about what he does. He was the perfect calm during our wedding day whenever I was NOT. :) We're so excited to see the finished product, and are confident we'll be thrilled! Thanks again Lewis!

Lewis was fantastic. Extremely creative and incredibly patient. We did pictures in three different locations, and while the day was getting late Lewis was willing to continue taking pictures long after my patience had run it's course.

If he's available, then book him right now. If he's not available, then change the date of your wedding. Lewis is your man.

We hired Lewis for our wedding in May. We (along with our guests) were very suprised how well he covered the wedding all on his own, he was everywhere and got every moment. He would scope out picture opportunities before grabbing us so we didn't have to miss out on the action of our event.

The pictures are stunning. Some look like actual paintings!

I look through them still almost everyday, Lewis did a fantastic job!

My husbands family introduced me to Lewis originally for our engagement photos and I am very pleased that they did. He was prompt for the session, capture the perfect lighting with each photo and his price even included a cd of all the pictures he took. His creativity and eye for detail will not disappoint!
It wasn't hard to decide on a photographer for our wedding, especially knowing Lewis, and he once again surpassed our expectations! The images are priceless, capturing the emotions of that day and special moments that would easy be foegotten if you didn't have such a dedicated photographer. We can't wait to receive our cd, which is already on its way and our wedding was only 1 month ago! Thank you Lewis!

I found Lewis out of pure luck by blindly emailing several photographers who had posted their work on a wedding website. The photos Lewis had shared were really amazing and it was clear he had a talent for capturing not just the moment, but the feeling behind it. Our ceremony was a 3 hours drive away and he gladly agreed to make the trip to meet our needs. He is incredibly professional and very pleasant and easy to work with - a true professional! Everyone wants their wedding photos to be amazing and Lewis delivered and beyond! I've never felt more beautiful than I did that day and I have countless photos to remember our wonderful day. I coud truly go on and on - allow me to simply say that Lewis is tremendous photographer and I couldn't recommend him enough! He will be taking our family photos again soon and it'll be third time we have asked him to be a part of our family memories. So thankful I found him!

Lewis Hizer paid such great attention to detail & you hardly ever noticed he was there. Unlike other photographers I've experienced at other weddings, he was not in your face constantly asking for you to strike a cheesy pose. I love all my pictures & the excellent quality they have. Would definitely recommend him to my friends & family!

We found Lewis via an online search and we are certainly glad we did! Lewis was a pleasure to work with and was extremely helpful and accommodating. Lewis took our engagement and wedding photos and was attentive while listening to what we wanted from our photos. He really went above and beyond in terms of the time spent taking photos at our wedding, as well as the number of photos he took. He arrived at approximately 11:00 a.m. and left at 10:30 p.m. and took a multitude of pictures prior to our ceremony, at our ceremony, at outside locations and at our reception.

The photos we received look great! Lewis takes time when editing photos and often provides variations of the same photo. You receive a DVD with all of your photos so you can print those you choose and have them for future viewing and use. His pricing is extremely reasonable as well and we would highly recommend him for any of your events!

I did my research and found about 8-10 photographers in West Michigan however none of them could compare to Lewis' prices. One of my co-workers had used Lewis so I thought I would meet him and see what he had to offer. He spend hours in the initial meeting with my fiancé and I showing us his portfolio. Lewis is out of Grand Rapids but was willing to travel to the Lakeshore for a $25 fee, even my hairdresser cost more than that to travel to Muskegon!! We wanted beach photos (typical West Michigan Wedding) and he already was mentioning spots that we could go and showing us beach photos that he had done. For an extra $100 Lewis also did our engagement photos, and boy were they worth it!!! The Sunset photos on the Beach were positively dreamy.

I have not ever been as pleased as I was with my wedding and engagement photos. Lewis spent all day with us the day of the wedding, he was extremely creative and he spends so much time on the photos after the wedding, retouching and perfecting them. Many other photographers change extra for retouching but not Lewis, he really has a magnificent eye and a creative mind. I would recommend Lewis to any/everyone I meet! No one will take the time with you like Lewis does!

Amazing... Simply amazing! Lewis is so talented and he is truly meant to be photographer! His attention to detail and his creativity with each photo is unless. Example: When it became dark outside the night of our wedding, he took a sparkler, lit it, and ran around us while the camera was taking photos! It created a spiral of light/sparkle showcasing us in it! We wish you could of seen the final results! It looked like something from Beauty and the Beast! It was simply incredible! We can't stop looking at our photos!

He was with us for almost 11 hours and every picture we asked him to get, he got! He went early to the Reception Hall, the morning of our wedding and shot photos before anyone got there. He met up with the us, a short while there, and shot photos of the girls getting ready and I (bride) felt like a movie star. :) He was always in the right place at the right time! He is so sweet, humble, and so much fun to visit with. We never worried once about the photos, because we knew Lewis would make them perfect and he did. We would recommend Lewis to EVERYONE! Stop looking and book him now before it's too late!

Lewis was absolutely outstanding. While we have only seen a portion of the photos he took on our day (it was only two weeks ago as I write this review) the photos we have seen are stunning. We had a beach wedding which could prove to be somewhat difficult with
Lighting, etc. Lewis knew exactly how to handle the elements, and even told the chair rental people how to position the guests seats for the ceremony.

What's more is Lewis seemed to be everywhere all at once, while not feeling at all intrusive. Several of my guests commented on how wonderful it was that he seemed to snapping away the whole time he was present, which for our event was around 10 hours.

Importantly to me Lewis really really knew what he was doing and that was obvious as he worked. Furthermore he was super friendly, accommodating and quite a pleasure to work with. My husband and I have already had conversations of trying to come back out to the west side of the state and take beach photos of our first baby with Lewis-- if that s any indication how much we liked him-- and I'm not pregnant, lol! I would absolutely 100% recommend Lewis, he was wonderful, and I am so pleased we decided to go with him!

Finding the perfect photographer for our wedding was very important to me, I spent hours looking at different photographers pictures and Lewis Hizer's really stuck out to me. During our wedding day he captured all the emotional little moments without being obtrusive - most of the time I forgot he was there taking pictures! He is really smart with a camera and edits the photos to perfection. I could NOT have asked for a better photographer, we continue to get so many compliments on our pictures and I am happy to recommend Lewis to anyone who is looking for a photographer! I hope to use him again in the future for family photos. He is also extremely reasonably priced, especially considering the great work that he does! I would not have been happier with any other photographer.

We absolutely love our photos and working with Lewis. Lewis is not only a talented photographer, he is also a very kind and generous person. I do not consider myself to be photogenic, however Lewis was able to transform me. We had a 'non-traditional' wedding. He was able to capture the true feeling and very essence of the moment with every shot. His eye for detail and ability to capture the atmosphere of the event is a talent unlike I have seen before. Lewis traveled all the way to St. Louis, MO to do our wedding/handfasting! I wanted him because of his artistic eye in composing his beautiful pictures, compared to a lot of other photographers' styles that I had seen. Our pictures are wonderful--I'm having a hard time deciding which ones to choose for our album! SO MANY to chose from! And if you look at his previous albums, you'll see he is fantastic and very imaginative with Photoshop!! I'm an older bride, and he was able to smooth out a lot of my skin "imperfections", lol! He does amazing things with scenery and surroundings, too. It seems like he can do ANYTHING with a picture! I highly recommend him for ANY photography venue, not just weddings!

We LOVE our photos! From speaking with him on the phone the first time to picking up our pictures just 3 weeks after the wedding our whole experience was great and we knew from day one we were making a good choice! Lewis is incredibly knowledgeable and detail oriented when it comes to photography. He was extremely thorough when taking the pictures and editing the pictures. We had a few specific photos and "poses" we wanted and he easily duplicated what we requested. It was also very reassuring to know that he has a lot of back-up equipment as well. Of all the choices we made for the wedding I am the happiest with the choice to go with Lewis Hizer Photography.

The wedding photos that Lewis completed for us are absolutely LOVELY! I am sooo glad we got a photographer with such skill. He has an eye for making everything so beautiful and artistic.
I also LOVE the wedding album he made for us! It completely brings together the wedding I dreamed about since I was a little girl!

My husband and I chose Lewis Hizer for our wedding photographer after extensive online research. We were so pleased with his work. He spent more time with us than the ten hours we had agreed on, and took over 1,000 excellent pictures of our day. The great majority of our pictures look like magazine covers. He even spent extra time doing expert photoshop work to make everything perfect. My brother in law was unable to arrive at church in time for the whole family picture; so Lewis had us leave a space for him and after the wedding he took a picture of him in that spot. He photoshopped him in so seemlessly that we often bet people they can't pick out which person was photoshopped. No one has guessed correctly thus far! Since our wedding, my sister and my maid of honor have also hired Lewis for their weddings and are equally happy with their wedding pictures.

What can we say? Our perfect score of a 5.0 says it all. Lewis Hizer Photography is everything we could have asked for, and more. The responsiveness to all of our needs, the unique photography visions, and the overall attention to detail were incredibly well captured by Lewis.

Lewis took the time to listen to each and every idea, request, and thought that we had, including requests from our wedding guests!!!

Lewis did an amazing job at our wedding this past August 10, 2012. He was extremely attentive to detail and has a great eye for all things artistic. He was prompt in answering emails and questions and was able to work with my ideas of the types of photos I wanted. During the wedding ceremony he was able to capture all the important moments--I don't know how he did this because I never noticed him taking one picture, he is very good at becoming invisible. He is extremely affordable for the quality of service he provides. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer. He also does amazing landscape photography! What a talented guy! Thank you Lewis!

We are so grateful to have found Lewis during our search for a wedding photographer. Not only are his prices far more reasonable than most I've researched, the quantity of photos he provides is so generous! We love all of our photos and have received so many compliments on the quality and variety of the moments he captured on our wedding day. Lewis was a breeze to work with throughout the planning period, engagement session, and even more so on the Big Day! It was Lewis who really helped the day move along smoothly as he has a true understanding of the timing and schedule within a ceremony and reception. The finished products are beyond expectation and he was very prompt with providing us with an AMAZING shot to use for our thank you cards. I am so pleased that Lewis Hizer was available to be my wedding photographer! Lewis' photography demonstrates an uncanny eye for detail and incredible creativity. He does a wonderful job of capturing the day from many different angles and perspectives.

I love that my pictures tell the story of my wedding day from both a traditional and modern/creative viewpoint. Lewis worked hard to capture the shots I wanted, but he also brought his artistic eye for light, detail, and uniqueness to the day and creatively captured some parts of the day in photos that I absolutely love!

Additionally, Lewis' prices are realistic and I felt that I absolutely got the best value out there. This wonderful thing with Lewis is that he continues to work with you after the big day, helping you to compose the album you desire to help commemorate the big day!

If you're looking for creativity and artistry, as well as an excellent value and a service you'll be happy with long after the presents have been opened and the thank you cards written, I highly recommend Lewis Hizer.

We are so happy that Lewis captured our wedding day for us...I have to say though, that it was pretty much what we expected because he came so highly recommended! Several of our friends hired him for their weddings, and then looking through his portfolio we saw several more people that we knew, so that always makes you feel good! He was super easy to work with, and neither one of us are huge fans of the camera, but we both felt really comfortable working with him! The shots are a great combination of traditional wedding shots and super fun, creative ideas! We are also in the process of going through all of the candid shots, and there are so many great ones to choose from already! Couldn't be happier!

Without a doubt I recommend Lewis to anyone who gets married in West Michigan. To answer the biggest questions, his prices are extremely reasonable, and he gives you full copyrights to the photos. When comparing his pricing to others in the area, it was easily 30% less, and I promise you his pictures are far better. I never had any trouble getting ahold of him, and he was very flexible in his schedule. We had our proofs and CD back in less than a month. Very professional and easy to get along with.

The other photographers we talked to were typical wedding photographers - stand here and smile, pose, turn - they look like a high school prom photo. A lot of them are just photographers. The first time we met Lewis, my husband and I both walked out of there and said "Wow." Lewis is an artist, not just a photographer. Take some time and look at his photos. His compositions are far from the typical, and he is full of ideas. You aren't going to get a bunch of boring photos. He is a whiz with his camera, and a bit of a perfectionist (he was photoshop editing things that I would never have noticed). You will be hard pressed to find a bad photo in the bunch. I have gotten tons of compliments on the pictures, most common is "they all turned out so good!" We got married in the winter and wanted some outdoor shots. Lewis was more than happy to wander around in the snow and expose his camera to the cold.

I really enjoyed working with Lewis Hizer. I was drawn to him because of his photographic style - a comfortable cross between classic portraits and photojournalistic - and because he offered a very well-priced package. Because photography was an important element to me and my husband, I checked into three of his references, and no one had a single bad thing to say about him and his photos.

Lewis was meticulous in checking with me and Jeremy throughout the reception to ensure that he captured all the photos we had requested (unfortunately, I realized after the wedding that I missed getting any photos with my Godmother, so make sure to list out all the shots you want!). Jeremy thought he could have been a little more take-charge when it came to gathering the group shots - but becuase I have such a huge family, I thought he did an OK job.

I now have to go through the task of going through 1400-some photos to build my coffee table-style photo album (another key component that I wanted) - which is daunting becuase there are SO many great pictures! Lewis produces great photography, and I definitely recommend him to brides who want absolutely beautiful, yet affordable photos.

Lewis was wonderful! He took over 1000 pictures throughout the day. He truly is a photographer and captured every important moment of our wedding. Some of the pictures we didn't even know that he had gotten, he just has an eye for it. It is obvious that he loves what he does and it truly shows in his work. We had many people tell us that these were the best wedding pictures they had seen. It was very important to me to have a good photographer, and we sure did! I would recommend Lewis to anyone!

I love my pictures. He took so many and I received all of them, proofs and everything. He took double pictures with different cameras to get the best lighting. He also checked to make sure everyone wasn't blinking and retook them to make sure it was the best quality. The best thing was we weren't on a time limit. We had him all day which was great because we got everything from morning until night in photos!

We hired Lewis for many reasons. We were initially impressed with his prompt and friendly response to our inquiry. We felt the photos viewed on his website were technically beautiful, creative and interesting. We found his pricing attractive and within our budget. We liked that he was a seasoned and experienced wedding photographer Among other suggestions and information Lewis discussed at length with me(the MOB), was what lighting at our venue to avoid and use to achieve the best photos. He was extraordinarily conscientious arriving early and staying well past his contracted time. We also greatly appreciated how flexible and kind he was. It all paid off when we received 629 wedding photos on 2 discs, which were sent on time as promised. There are so many fantastic shots that it will be hard to decide which ones to select for our albums. We appreciate and highly recommend this talented photographer

Lewis did an amazing job on our wedding pictures. We are very happy! I highly recommend him. He drove over 50 miles to our wedding and charged us a very fair price and stayed all day and evening.

Lewis did an excellent job capturing our lifelong memories on our wedding day. He was very professional and easy to work with. He also has a very artistic eye for capturing the right photo. I've know Lewis for a while as a coworker. I asked him for his pricing and checked out his website. Once I compared the quality of photos that he took compared the pricing of others at his level, it became clear that he was definitely the obvious choice. We talked by phone about the shots I wanted. He was able to get pictures of everything-from us getting ready to the cupcakes! I was really suprised when I recieved the pictures and found out that there was over 1000! There are so many pictures and I love them all. Lewis has a very good eye for detail and taking shots that really helped to capture the energy and personalties of my family and friends that attended the wedding. It was great to see all of the shots and the turn around was quick-for all of the pictures, he had them to us within 3 weeks on a USB drive and full copyrights! I'm still going thru and picking out which pictures to develop and everyone who has seen them so far loves them!

Lewis did our engagement and wedding photos in August 2014. He was great on his communication back and forth before the events. He is very easy going and doesn't seem to get stressed out - which is very helpful to a bride! He took the care and time to listen to our preferences. His pictures are great quality. He also was so patient and very willing to oblige and look at my photos ideas I had brought and did his very best to re-create them. They turned out great! He was very quick in getting our photos mailed to us on cds after the events. I didn't have to worry at all about whether I would receive my pictures or not. We got SO many pictures! We are very thankful for his service!!
