Not just a DJ, but a vibe curator

We cannot stress enough that Les is a professional and worth every penny in the sheer experience she brings to your event. Les was our DJ for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. She is attentive, flexible, and experienced. She is comfortable with multiple genres of music, knows how to transition from song to song, and can read a room (a very important skill!!). Her ability to use music to move the event along and gather a crowd cannot be overstated!

Les cares about your vision and will work with you to make it happen, whatever it is. We asked Les to help us create a vibe that incorporated vintage Asian-pop, mariachi, and Kelis; and she delivered. Guests were asking for a playlist days after the event. Les also spent extra time working with us and the venue to ensure the sound set up could accommodate our irregular asks.

We can't recommend Les enough!

Les the Party Maestro!!!!

Les was the very first vendor we booked and we knew right away that having her on our team was essential! She is a true professional with impeccable taste. She took our style and curated a night of nonstop dancing. So many guests commented on the music and how unique and fun it was compared to other weddings! We booked her for our whole event - ceremony, cocktail and reception. Everything was seamless. She was always available and very communicative during the led up to the wedding; making sure all of our questions were answered. Les is amazing and I highly, highly recommend her!

Organized, thoughtful, and observant

Les was organized about gathering our information about the songs we wanted to hear and when. She helped us adjust timelines according to the way the guests were feeling… if they were getting restless for dessert, for example! Or ready to go home. She helped us figure out what kind of mics we needed for each person. And her music choices were great!

We Danced All Night Long

We had an absolutely amazing wedding and reception and a big part of that was because of Les' dope music sensibilities and style. Les was fantastic to work with, detailed oriented, and wanted to make sure our event ran smoothly. She was open and willing to play a variety of music genres. And, with her eclectic music taste and catalog Les suggested the perfect dinner playlist and made sure we stayed dancing all night long. She checked in with us regularly throughout the night and ensured we were having the absolute best time. We would love to work with Les again on future events and recommend her for your musical needs.

Dancefloor of the century

We could not have made a better choice than going with Les as our wedding dj. Not only was she communicative and kind throughout the process—we had a lot of specific requests and questions—but she also guided us and gave us the confidence we needed to be able to relinquish control (ha!) and enjoy our reception fully. Our guests absolutely lost their minds. They couldn't believe that we had such a cool dj who managed to keep everyone (of all ages) dancing nonstop. Thank you for everything, Les!!

Les is the Best

We are so glad we booked Les to DJ our wedding! She has a great taste in music and a fantastic sense for how to keep a party rocking. Working with her leading up to the wedding was easy, stress free, and fun. She brought a great vibe & energy to the wedding reception, and we received A LOT of complements from all types of guests about how awesome the music was. After the wedding, the venue coordinator commented that she had “never seen the room packed with dancing for that long”. Booking Les was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!!

Les is amazing - 10/10 recommend!

My partner and I hired Les as our DJ for our wedding in Washington, DC this past fall. Les absolutely slayed the entire evening and we would hands down recommend Les to any couple planning a wedding. Les is an accomplished DJ and we found her to be infinitely knowledgeable in terms of creating the vibe we envisioned, while also totally flexible in terms of creating an inclusive intergenerational experience that got everyone on the dance floor. Throughout the process of planning our wedding, Les was a delight to work with and get to know – she sourced specific recommendations from us and enhanced and elevated our vision beyond what we could have ever imagined. Knowing that Les was at the helm of music experience – from the ceremony to cocktail hour to dancing - was both calming and a source of joy. 10/10 would recommend!

Our Dream DJ!

Les was terrific! Dedicated, attentive, fun to talk to -- and she could not have done a better job DJ-ing. She kept the dance floor packed all night and struck a perfect balance between crowd-pleasers, fun surprises, and songs that really mattered to us. We were achy from dancing after!

Les the DJ is A VIBE!

Les opened and closed our wedding with unique and energetic DJ sets this past weekend and it was spectacular. We had hired Les alongside a band, and kind of waited until the last minute to figure out the flow but this did not phase Les at all. She was gracious, flexible, and full of ideas for how to pull off the perfect night and incorporated all of our favorite tunes with a lounge-y vibe during cocktail hour and then a true party vibe from 10:30 until midnight. Yes, she kept people on the dance floor until midnight...! She announced the last song and then when it ended everyone started chanting "one more song!" and she obliged. It was such a fun night and she worked in a really complementary way with the folky-rock band we had play during dinner and early night dancing. One of my favorite memories is when she let me (the bride) get behind the booth, put the headset on, and "DJ" for a song or two. It was exhilarating and we got a lot of fun photos. I am hoping to work with Les for any future event and I highly recommend her to other cool brides in the DC area :)

Outstanding, A++++, run don't walk to hire Les

Les is an outstanding DJ and human being. Working with her is honestly delightful and so low-stress. She talked to us about the vibes we wanted at our wedding, but also our general music tastes! She took our requests (even silly ones) seriously and created the perfect playlists for each part of our wedding day -- lots of our favorites, but she also has incredible taste and you can trust her to step in when you're not sure where to go. Plus she was able to navigate a tricky venue with multiple indoor and outdoor sites, and finding high-quality audio to improve on one of our requests. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!!

Les is great!

TLDR; Les was the best possible DJ for our wedding

We actually found Les through Wedding Wire when looking for a woman-owned DJ company. Before that, we had three preliminary calls with booking agents from some of DC's big and highly rated DJ companies. Representatives from those other agencies were condescending and didn't take our requests seriously.

Talking to Les was a breath of fresh air! She's comfortable working with so many styles of music, is knowledgeable and kind, and doesn't try to up-sell you on a bigger package than you need.

The music was perfect for our ceremony, dinner and dancing. She was even a fan of the somewhat obscure music we requested for the ceremony. It was amazing.

You should hire Les!!

Les the DJ is just so cool.

Les has great taste and cool ideas--we especially loved her recommendation and inclusion of Japanese pop! We loved working with her to help create the vibe of our wedding and reception. She ensured the order of events flowed smoothly, got the party going when it needed some energy, and was great at being flexible and reading the room as the night winded down. We cannot recommend Les the DJ enough and greatly enjoyed working with her in the lead up to and on the night of the wedding.

Best DJ I've Ever Worked With

Working with Les was an absolute treat. Les was our 4th DJ we met with and from the first 10 minutes of meeting her, we knew we needed to hire her. She works with us in detailing out our playlist in the exact way that we wanted it. From first meeting, to music planning, to execution, Les was on top of it. Planning the event was a total breeze with Les. Since most of our songs were available on Spotify, it was easy for her to find them. Any songs not available online, we sent an .mp3 to her. Les gives great advice for songs that are good for various points of the night, which is incredibly helpful when organizing your night. Also, she did our music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and dancing as well as brought her own equipment for all of it, which helped a lot.

On the day of, Les was spot on with everything that she said was going to happen and the night went without a hitch. She was on time for all of our walk on and walk out songs, she played our favorites songs during cocktail/reception, and had no issues with playing the important songs of the night. Given that my partner and I have some esoteric tastes in music, Les was able to incorporate our music tastes into various parts of the ceremony, even the dancing. I don't think I ever saw the dance floor thin out. It was a constant party and Les was a big help in that.

Thank you for making our night so memorable and working with us. I couldn't recommend her enough. Book her for your wedding or event.

Les totally made our wedding!

We're so glad we hired Les for our wedding! She kept the dance floor going all night and was able to put together music that appealed to multiple generations without being corny. She had great recommendations for how the event should go and was easy to work with. Neither of us consider ourselves wedding people and working with Les felt like we were just throwing a great dance party, not a stuffy formal event.

Everyone from their 20s to 80s absolutely loved the music. Les is very good about understanding a room and absolutely prioritizes the Bride and Groom's requests. Would recommend to anyone as she was one of our favorite vendors of the wedding!

Highly recommend Les!

We had such a great experience with Les as our DJ for our wedding. Full disclosure: we originally wanted a band for our wedding but when the reality of wedding prices started to set in, we decided the extra cost for a (potentially) mediocre band wasn’t worth it. We are SO glad we didn’t go with a band and went with Les instead! We had two calls with Les so she could get to know our style and preferences. She was very organized and seemed to work well with our coordinator and other vendors. At the reception, the dance floor was packed right from the start and it felt like it never emptied. We got so many compliments from friends and family raving about how much fun they had dancing at our wedding. She really got to know our style and even turned down certain requests which wouldn’t fit the vibe (lol). Again, highly recommend hiring Les as your DJ!

We Had the Best Dance Party at Our Reception

We really enjoyed working with Les for our wedding. Our family and friends told us how much fun they had at our wedding and we LOVED our dance party. Our dance floor had people on it the entire evening. Les made it work to incorporate hip hop, pop, oldies, a Waltz, and even a Polka. We had a variety of requests for songs that were meaningful to our family!

I can't recommend Les enough. I've had the pleasure of knowing her for years --- but was also so impressed to work with her in this professional capacity as our wedding DJ. Absolutely amazing and a joy to work with

Working with Les was amazing. She was well thought out, timely in her communications, flexible, and asked specific questions so she could get to know us and our music taste. We ended up with something better than we could have imagined. It was a pure joy to work with her. Les was the cherry on top that made our wedding what it was. Everyone had a good time, people were always on the dance floor and when it came to the last song ending, no one wanted to leave because everyone was having such a great time.

You would be silly not to hire Les if you were looking for someone you could trust entirely to really make your wedding and the music spectacular.

The perfect DJ

Les was amazing on the day of our wedding, as well as in the planning stage leading up to it, and I can’t recommend her enough! My husband and I interviewed a lot of DJs before finding Les, but we were so relieved when we finally spoke with her because she clearly knows her music and understands how to get a crowd dancing (without resorting to cheesy DJ things that we wanted to avoid). We also really appreciated how professional she was in advance of the wedding and I didn’t have to worry about any details with her – she did a walk through of our venue ahead of the wedding to prepare and on the day she did a great job of placing speakers in the correct positions around our tricky venue space to ensure sound was balanced throughout. She made our dance floor perfect.
Les also played music in the lead up to our wedding ceremony and at our cocktail hour, which worked out perfectly too. We had musician friends playing music during the ceremony procession itself, so Les put microphones on the instruments and our officiant, so that everyone could hear the ceremony well.

Dj les is the best!

Working with Les was a blast! She was super responsive, helpful, and responsible. Not to mention our guests--and us--kept raving about her throughout the night. We all danced our feet off and we wouldn't have had it any other way. We HIGHLY recommend working with Les. She is open to playing (most songs) and happy to veto the ones your guests keep begging for, but that you aren't into. Les also felt like she was a part of our party--she was unobtrusive, but danced behind her DJ booth so you could tell she was having a good time, too. Just do it. Hire DJ Les right now!

Great music, great person.

Les is terrific. It was a great mix of music, responsive to our requests but also she mixed it up in a very good way. Not only was the music fantastic, but she had her assistant take some video of the ceremony for a few people who couldn't attend.

The best of many candidates

Les was a pleasure to work with. She was professional, organized, and moreover, a great DJ. Guests loved her musical suggestions and her talent in reading the crowd was obvious. In fact, several guests came up to us well after the event to let us know how awesome our DJ was. We felt the same. We interviewed a number of candidates and Les was the best choice for us out of the many options out there. Highly recommended. This review doesn't do her work justice.

Unforgettable!

Les was calm, cool, and made our wedding unforgettable. We gave her a lot of leeway with song selection and she brought the party without any of the cheesiness you can get from wedding DJs. Leading up to the wedding, Les was on top of everything so that music was the least of my concerns as we were wedding planning. I cannot recommend Les enough!!

The best!!!

Les and her partner did a fantastic job of DJ-ing our wedding. From start to finish, she impressed us with her professionalism, expertise, and passion. We could tell during our initial consultation that we would not be dealing with our worst fear-- a stereotypically corny wedding DJ. We had a general idea of the type of music we wanted, but trusted Les to fill in much of the detail and she did not disappoint. By the end of the evening, she had everyone chanting for one more song!

She knew exactly how to cater to our needs (including a particularly complex processional, series of speeches, and dances). Her and her partner's day of execution was flawless. They set up audio in four separate locations, MC'd the entire event, and took extra special care to make sure it all went off without a hitch. Les was even kind enough to provide special emotional support to the father of the bride that allowed him to get through his wedding toast (a first for him!). Not to mention she went digging in the crates for some tunes that brought both our families of different backgrounds out onto the dance floor.

We would recommend Les many times over to family and friends for any event and truly appreciate every special thing she did for us on our day. Thank you, Les!

Les did a phenomenal job DJ-ing our wedding. She was friendly, professional, communicative, and flexible throughout the planning process and during the wedding itself. My husband and I wanted a packed dance floor and Les certainly delivered. She playing the music we and our friends loved and did an amazing job reading the dance floor. Because of a recurring joke throughout the speeches, my husband ended up with his shirt off on the dance floor and right on cue, Les started playing Pony. Everyone loved it. We hadn't picked the last song of the night ahead of time, but Les came and found me towards the end of the night and showed me which songs she hadn't played yet, and we quickly chose one. She got everyone on the dance floor for the last song, and that ended up being one of my favorite memories from the entire wedding. If you're looking for someone who isn't the typical cheesy wedding DJ, is obviously experienced and will keep your day running smoothly, and can handle an eclectic musical taste, go with Les!

Les and her partner provided exactly the sort of wedding DJ and dance experience we wanted. She mixed and transitioned songs beautifully, and totally understood (and expanded upon) our musical taste after we sent her some examples for both dinner and dancing. She was also extremely flexible with a last minute change-up -- we decided to kick off the dancing with a song that we hadn't discussed in advance, but she had multiple versions of it on hand, and chose one that matched the mood and our style.

Les also handled the logistics of our unconventional venue with ease. Speakers were placed nicely for each room, and the sound quality and volume were perfect for different spaces and moments.

Overall, we couldn't be happier with how things turned out -- and we loved her energy and passion for music.

Les Talusan was an absolutely incredible DJ for our queer, nerdy wedding, and a real joy to work with. She met with us to talk over our musical taste (where as a bonus I got to geek out over British indie of the 90s and 00s), and then by magic transformed the fairly random playlists we shared with her into an incredible dancefloor alchemy that had guests of all generations and musical propensities leaping around with wild abandon! So many people came up to us to tell us how great our DJ was and how well the music reflected us and our community. Prior to working with Les, I had not fully appreciated how important the DJ is to the success of a wedding or other event – now I understand that they are the key, and I am so glad we chose who we did! Les also did a beautiful job of choosing songs to play during our meal; as we ran around and talked to everyone, it was magical to hear unexpected favorites pop up in the background.

Les was hands-down one of the best parts of our wedding. She was professional and easy-going throughout the booking/scheduling process and was very amenable to the song lists and music files we sent her for the set planning. On the wedding day, she was on time and ready to go. People were bopping around during cocktail hour and when dinner rolled around, someone jokingly told us that she needed to play worse music because they were trying to eat and wanted to dance to what they were hearing! When the reception came along, she had primed the pump so hard that people rushed the floor on the first song and danced for the rest of the night. It was such a great party and we got so many compliments on the music and the DJ. Les is a seasoned pro who will turn the party out and we would not hesitate to book her again for any event that needed music.

I would recommend Les to absolutely anyone who really cares about the music at their wedding. She is highly responsive, super-nice, and very easy to work with. She really knows her music and will work with you to create a party that truly reflects your tastes while making sure that all of your guests - from the oldest to the youngest - have an amazing time. Our guests can't stop talking about how amazing the playlist was. She worked with us to create distinct moods for the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, and our guests commented on all of them. The dance party was even better than we could've imagined - the dance floor was packed for the whole night! Les was worth every penny.

We saw Les DJ a friend’s wedding and knew we wanted her to DJ ours. She is all about the music, which is exactly what we wanted. A great mix of old standards, 80s R&B/funk, 90s hip-hop, and 2000s pop. She honored our preferences but also was happy to give recommendations and build on our preferences to spin a great set. We got lots of compliments after the fact for good reason. She was easy to work with. Les also helped us with sound for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Her pricing depends on how many events you need sound for. Highly recommended.

Les was wonderful to work with. She's low fuss, understanding, and flexible. We met with her once when we were choosing our DJ and then spoke with her a couple times before the wedding. In between, she sent us a document to fill out with all the wedding details and songs we wanted. She made sure to ask about the version for each of the important songs (processional, recessional, etc.) and was flexible about how we communicated that to her: name of song, Spotify list, etc. Several people asked who picked the songs and complimented us on the music. She played a nice progression through the ages once the dancing started and had even our older family members grooving on the dance floor. Importantly, she didn't play any of the songs we didn't want! She also said that she watches the floor and will cut a song short if people aren't responding to it. She also didn't overplay any particular artist. We only wish we had more time for dancing!

If you are reading this review then you have found your DJ! Seriously though, Les was an amazing DJ. She was really easy to work with and she gave us the dance party that we wanted. I had a very specific list of songs that I wanted for the ceremony, cocktails and dinner and Les played them all with no issues. And then for dancing, she created an awesome atmosphere full of exactly the genres that we wanted. The dance floor was always packed. Les DJ'd our September wedding in Lovettsville, Va., and we'd highly recommend her to other couples! Since we don't live in the DC area, most of our communication was over email or the phone, and we had good brainstorming calls with Les a few months before the wedding, which helped us think about the types of songs to include at different parts of the wedding. She asked us to choose several "must play" songs for different parts of the wedding, which left her some time to read the crowd and choose other songs that weren't on our lists--and which added to the fun of the reception, since my husband and I have pretty eclectic tastes. Since she's worked a lot of weddings, she also has a great sense about the timing (for the reception in particular) and was really great in helping us think through the timeline and what would (or wouldn't) work. Bottom line, Les was responsive, engaged, and awesome to work with throughout the planning and on the day of, too! Several folks sent us notes after the wedding complimenting the music choices, and Les made sure we were able to host the epic wedding dance party we'd hoped for!

Les was awesome! Many guests remarked to us that the DJ was great. She did an excellent job making sure all of the songs we specifically requested were played and read the crowd well to keep the dancing going the rest of the time. Les is fantastic to work with. We used her for our wedding reception and she was uber responsive and professional. I especially liked that Les requested a list of "must play" and "do not play" songs in advance of our event. This allowed us to hear all of our mandatory songs and prevented any of our "no" songs from playing. I appreciated Les' responsiveness in the weeks and days leading up to our event. She pro-actively reached out to confirm dates/times/venue logistics, etc. She worked with our planner and on-site point of contact to confirm her arrival time and allowed several hours for set up and testing. 5 stars all around!

Les is fantastic. It's easy to find any old DJ to play the typical wedding songs (Journey, Village People, Top 40, blah, blah, etc.) but if you want a more unique and personalized experience, go with Les. This is especially true if you're any bit of a music geek. Les honestly has everything and she actually does the mixing work live. No lazy fade-ins and outs or recorded sets. She is doing work up there, which was a surprise to a few of the venue staff ("wow, your DJ is really mixing! Sounds really good!") who have seen more than their fair share of wedding DJs.

Our wedding soundtrack had a little bit of everything -- from Motown to obscure artsy hip-hop (Anticon, anyone?), from indie rock to classic local music (Kalapana! Aura!). She even had a relatively obscure acoustic Yeah Yeah Yeahs remix for the bride's walk down the aisle. Really couldn't ask for more. Les has a massive library, and absolutely knows how to throw a party when the formalities are all said and done. She worked seamlessly with our coordinator and venue staff, and even got some of the staff dancing by the end of the night. No joke. Les got plenty of props from guests, as well as two of the venue staff, catering staff, and our flower coordinator.

Finally, I'll say that Les is all about you on your big day. She met with us a few days beforehand to go over the playlist and vibe we wanted. She also won't take weird random requests from (drunk) guests...unless you specifically say to. All in all, we had a crazy good time and would recommend Les to anyone.

Les was THE BEST. We seriously couldn't have been happier with our choice of DJ. Les was super easy to work with both during the planning phase and on the day of our wedding. It was obvious to us that she knows what she is doing and it put us at ease knowing that music wasn't something we had to worry about. We wanted a wedding that felt like a dance party and Les definitely delivered. Her music choices had all generations of friends and family on the dance floor all night. Wow. What a night. The music was exactly what we wanted (Mix of Motown, Hip Hop, & Pop). My husband(!) and I were on the dance floor after dinner until the very end... but we didn't want it to end. Les aka Pinstriped Rebel, curated the perfect music list for us, and every time people on the dance floor wanted to take a break, they couldn't because the transitions to the songs were seamless, and you just wanted to dance! That's the feeling we wanted every friend and family member to have at our wedding. Les delivered and we couldn't be happier with our choice.

Leading up to the big day, our Les took every detail as to what we wanted. Our wedding was multicultural (Filipino, Chinese, Vietnamese), so there were some musical preferences we had to consider, which Les noted down. We gave her a list of 50 songs via Spotify that we wanted to play and she used it as a foundation for the night. She was prepared when family members walked up to her with music requests and adapted accordingly without sacrificing our wishes. In addition, Les and her crew provided the lighting and audio equipment for our venue, and we didn't encounter any problems.

When we host another party, we are definitely using the Pinstriped Rebel again. She crushed it, and our only regret was not extending more time at the venue to dance some more!

Les did an amazing job DJing our wedding! She is very friendly, very easy to work with, and super responsive with communication. We met in person so she could get a sense of our musical taste, and she also gave great suggestions, not only from a music perspective but also the flow for the evening. After meeting her in person we knew she was the perfect fit for us. During our ceremony our officiant was running a bit late and she was able to improvise and add in a couple of extra songs that fit in perfectly with our selection to stall, and the guests were none the wiser. During the reception there wasn't a moment when people weren't dancing, she played all our favorites as well as some great songs we hadn't even thought of. Everyone kept talking about how awesome she was. Maybe we are being biased because it was our wedding, but of all the weddings we've been to she was by far the most talented DJ. Les also seemed to be having just as much fun DJing as our guests had dancing. Our only regret is that we wish the wedding was longer so we could've danced more! If you want to have the best time at your wedding we highly recommend Les!

Working with Les and Sound Of Everything was a true success. As someone who works professionally in music and live audio, I can tell those who really know their craft from those who don’t. Not only does Les have great taste in music, but she is incredibly organized, cooperates well with other vendors, has great technical knowledge, and provides fantastic audio equipment. Our dinner speeches were crystal clear and perfectly loud enough for the entire room to hear. Anyone who has been to several weddings knows how rare this can be! If you want at DJ that makes sure the party doesn't stop, then Les is the right choice. From the minute we talked to her about DJing our wedding, we knew she was the right choice. Unlike some other potential DJs we interviewed, we could tell Les was passionate about her job and wouldn't treat our wedding like just another gig. She was easy to work with, and did a great job translating our musical tastes into a playlist everyone at our wedding, from grandma to our friends, would enjoy. The night of the our wedding was the perfect balance of throwbacks and current hits, and the dance floor was full the entire night. At the end of the night, and even days after, guests were commenting on how great the music was and how much fun they had. I have a feeling more than one of our friends will be contacting Les when it's their turn to plan a wedding. You definitely will not be disappointed if you hire Les.

Les made our wedding the party we wanted. My husband was responsible for booking a dj. He called several companies first and was not impressed by their corporate feel and their disinterest in who we were and our musical tastes. Les and my husband spent an hour talking about music. He was so pumped to find someone who truly loved music and who recognized the importance of creating the mood we wanted. She curated a playlist that brought everyone out to the dance floor and kept them on even while going from the classic to more contemporary music. My husband and I never left the dance floor and neither did the majority of our guests. Les made it a very memorable night. A few weeks ago, we attended a wedding that Les was working. We were so excited, because we knew it was going to be great night. Once again, we rarely left the floor. Go with Les. She connects on a personal level and has a sense for keeping the party going.

We flew Les out to Seattle in order to DJ our wedding. We had heard so many positive things from our friends out in D.C. From the start, she was professional, creative and accommodating. Music and a phenomenal dance party were one of the top priorities for our wedding. We also wanted a mix of Bollywood, Hip Hop and Latin music. Les not only d.j.'d our reception, she also did the music for the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner.

How did we know the music was incredible? Everyone was dancing until the VERY LAST SONG! And some shouted for more! This included little kids all the way to the elders in the family. Multiple people told us after how much they loved the music.

Les was great and made our wedding evening such a fantastic time! We really appreciated Les's ability to keep the crowd entertained early in the evening, and get dancing later. Our friends of all ages all had a great time. Also appreciated her attentiveness to making sure our first dance was long enough, without being too long!

And her music knowledge! We were not super helpful with detailed song lists, and Les worked with us to learn what we would enjoy and hit the nail on the head. She has a wide range of knowledge from old school hip hop, classic hits and modern day pop...and much more. She always put on emphasis on getting to know our tastes and music we would enjoy.

Les also did a great job handling our ceremony audio, carefully making it loud enough to be heard, but not overpowering in a crowded space. She helped keep our reception on time by seeking out the wedding party to give discreet reminders, and made announcements/directions to our guests when requested. She also expertly handled numerous requests during the event, making sure our guests were happy and got to hear their song requests (except the ones we didn't want to hear!)

Overall, Les provided a great experience from the planning well before the event, all the way through until the end of our wedding reception!

Les was the DJ for our wedding on April 9, 2016 at the Carnegie Institution for Science. She did an awesome job! Ahead of our wedding, she took time to understand our tastes. We booked Les a.k.a. The Pinstripe Rebel through DJ D-Mac's service. We couldn't have been happier. Excellent communication was followed up by a stellar performance. I'm not a wedding diva but we had a clear direction for music. Les killed it. We wanted a pretty diverse mix and she accommodated it and added her own touch. She was super organized and extremely professional, but also tons of fun. Her excellent music taste is nicely complimented by her personal style. Les has fun behind her turn tables and it keeps the vibe really energized. She added tons of value by helping us coordinate the placement of equipment, schedule, shout-outs, and lighting. We had Les "The Pinstriped Rebel" DJ our wedding. We were SO lucky to have found DJ D-Mac and Les!! The music was an absolute highlight of our entire day. From our first meeting with Les, we were convinced we were in good hands. My husband and I both have pretty different tastes in music, so I'm sure we sounded like crazy people going over what we wanted our wedding to sound and feel like, but Les kept us calm and made us feel confident she could pull off a seamless dance party. We wanted our wedding to feel like an awesome fun night for all generations there, and with all the praise we've gotten since, I am so happy we found Les.

Her style felt classic and retro, and we really loved her vinyl. The microphone we used at the reception was the Elvis Mike and it added a special feeling to the whole evening.

Important note: I felt really strongly I did NOT want a cheesy wedding DJ announcing each portion of the evening. Les was happy to sit back and focus on doing what she does best; music (although she would NOT have been cheesy!) We booked Les through DJ D-Mac and Associates to provide both the sound system for our outdoor wedding ceremony and DJing for our reception. Both turned out perfectly! Despite having to pay for two separate sound systems, since one was outdoor and the other indoor, the overall price remained competitive.

We were looking for a real DJ, not a "wedding DJ" that makes cheesy announcements and awkward commentary, and plays predictable music, We arranged a phone call with Les and immediately felt really comfortable with her - Les seemed like exactly the DJ we were looking for!

And she was! Les was absolutely amazing on our wedding day - we can't say enough great things about her. She arrived early to set up, captured an audio recording of our ceremony, and was relaxed, laid-back, and fun. Every song she played was perfect and it was obvious she understood our musical tastes. She brought turntables with her, which our friends thought was awesome (we did too!), and we received so many compliments on both Les and the music. A friend that lives 1,500 miles away even asked Les for her card, in case he ever needs a DJ. We are so glad we found her!!

Les is an AMAZING DJ. Since my family is half Persian, half Argentinian, and my groom is 100% American, I was worried about finding music that everyone would appreciate.

Les totally found common ground and researched Persian and Latin music in addition to American classics. We got really lucky in finding a DJ that was so flexible and willing to do her homework on all these different styles.

Lastly, I had a very unique line up for my wedding ceremony that included ripping a song off a YouTube cover as I walked down the aisle. Les downloaded the song and edited it to be higher quality. The result was amazing and I'm so glad I got the wedding I'd always wanted. Les is the best!

Les was fantastic from start to finish. She handled both the ceremony and reception for us and nailed it. She was professional, responsive before the wedding, and was able to hit the note on the kind of music we wanted to have at the wedding. The dance floor was full, especially for the last 90 mins when it mattered most. Highest recommendation.

Les was an awesome wedding DJ!!! We provided a playlist of must-haves and songs that were representative of the feel we were going for. Les was perfect! It was important to us to have a real DJ at our wedding, and not a clown with a keyboard tie making bad jokes. Les was exactly what we were looking for! We hired her for our ceremony music, cocktail hour, and our reception dance.

Throughout planning, Les was incredibly responsive, always professional, and super organized (very important to me)! We used Google Docs and Spotify to create "must play" and "do not play" lists. Les had great suggestions for pre-ceremony music. She knows how weddings work and offered great advice on the timeline and how to minimize announcements.

At the wedding, she seamlessly transitioned music between the floors throughout the evening, all while moving her equipment. When the caterers put us 30+ min behind, Les consulted with us on the timeline and had a plan to make everything still work. She was flexible, put us back on schedule, and we still got everything we wanted. Les was willing to do anything to make sure our day was perfect, including moving large trees that the venue staff forgot about!

Our caterers bombed, which left me feeling disappointed/stressed out. At that point, my husband turned to me and said "It's up to Les now." And she turned the night around! She threw the best party I’ve ever been to!

Les is a real DJ. She knows music, she spins vinyl, she knows how to transition between songs, and she watches the guests to make sure everyone is having a good time. She played the right amount of each song and kept the party moving.

Our guests, young and old, were on the dance floor the entire night. Our friends kept saying how awesome our DJ was, and they joked about crashing her future weddings! A month later, guests are still telling us it was the best dance party they’ve ever been to.

We could go on and on about how wonderful and talented Les is. We have high standards, but Les exceeded every expectation we had. I wish we could give her a hundred stars! We fully, completely, totally recommend her!

Les did and AMAZING job DJ-ing our wedding! She found time to play most of the songs we wanted to hear, in addition to a nice mix of other stuff. Her personality worked great for our guests, and she did a great job of keeping everyone notified of what was going on and keeping things on schedule. She's super-friendly and accommodating, and you will probably never get to hear Tom Waits AND Color Me Badd at the same wedding...unless Les is in charge. Thanks so much, lady!

I cannot say enough great things about Les! She was recommended to me by a friend and was absolutely phenomenal in every respect. She met with us a few times to go over logistics about equipment and setup. We weren't the type of couple who knew exactly what we wanted, but Les was great at recommending different genres and she helped us formulate and develop our music vision. She is well versed in all types of music and is especially adept DJing multicultural weddings. I was impressed by her professionalism and she definitely got the party started. Our guests had a great time and were dancing until the very end!!! I would definitely recommend her and already have to my friends getting married.

Over a year and a half after our wedding, I am still getting compliments on how fun a wedding it was. Les was a *big* part of that. The dance party during the reception was nonstop! She played our must-play indie nerd songs, but also threw in the *non-annoying* pop music that people like to dance to, as well as stuff for the parents and grandparents to boogie down to. If you have a DO NOT PLAY, she will not play it, no matter how much that silly uncle of yours wants her to play it. Z walked into the ceremony to Tom Waits - Hold On and I walked in to Adorable - Breathless. Les probably knows more about music than you. She has been djing for nearly 20 years and she will craft a night for all to remember. She has a cheerful personality, but takes her job seriously. Full disclosure: Les is an old friend, but we paid her to dj our wedding.

We booked The Pinstriped Rebel through DJ D-Mac based on a friend's recommendation and she couldn't have been better. From our original meeting where we discussed the types of music we wanted during different parts of the wedding all the way through handling family members' late-night song requests that didn't fit the vibe we were going for, she handled everything professionally and seemingly effortlessly. Her suggestion for our recessional was perfect, and her music choices throughout the event fit our theme and kept the dance floor busy all evening. We couldn't be happier with the work she did at the wedding or how professional she and DJ D-Mac were during the entire planning process.

Working with Les was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. As a big music fan with electic tastes making a playlist with Les was really fun and not stressful. She was uber-professional and prompt at returning emails and texts but always humble and down to earth. She always had great suggestions, I felt like she could read my mind sometimes, and she's hip. I didn't want some fat man in a suit playing Sweet Caroline, it's just not my style. She was on the money. Also she was upbeat and positive throughout the entire planning process. This was key for me. Wedding planning is insane.

We had so many people telling us what a great time they had and how it was one of the most fun weddings they had ever been too. People had to be kicked out of the venue because so many people were still dancing at the end of the night. I highly recommend working with Les- she's attentive and has a good intuition and business style. You won't regret it.

Working with Les was an unfailingly positive experience and we would recommend her without hesitation to any future couples. We met her because we live in the same building but we really got to know her better while planning the wedding. She was totally relaxed and easy to work with and very attentive to our musical interests and aspirations for the wedding. We had seen Les DJ our friend's wedding about a year ago, so it was no surprise that she was a total professional and did a fantastic job. She was totally flexible and easy to work with over in person and over email. And even when I had a last minute question on the day of the wedding, she called me right back to discuss my concern (that we would have a microphone available for the speeches). The dancing part of our wedding was crazy fun, and Les has a long list of songs that are perfect for wedding crowds. Les is a total pro, and there's nothing cooler than having a DJ that actually plays vinyl!

We wanted to give a full throttled seal of approval for Les Talusan and the crew from Sound of Everything. We are living abroad but had our wedding in Washington DC. Les was extremely responsive via Skype and went the extra mile to help us plan the playlist, from ambient music during dinner to the dance party that followed. Her musical knowledge, in general, was staggering, and she was able to tailor our requests to incorporate a wide range of tastes, which she believed our guests would love. And she was right... The night of the wedding, the execution was perfect, and every one of our guests to the last, complimented the music and the dedication of the DJ to her art.

We had great communication with Les from SOE through our whole wedding planning process. She kept a Google Document where we got to fill in all our must-haves and do-not-plays, and our processional and recessional etc etc. On our wedding day, she did a perfect job of queuing up the processional and my bridal song. When it came time to dance, she made sure there were plenty of family-appropriate dance songs followed by newer pop music later in the night for young people dancing time. She's a total pro and did a great job, and we'd recommend her DJ services for all DC area local weddings. She's worth every penny!

Les had all of our wedding guests dancing the entire night. My parents commented on how many of their (older) friends stayed long past cake cutting to continue dancing! We had a wide variety of guests from young frat boys to my husband's 87 year-old Persian grandfather and they all danced. Les really was amazing and I would highly recommend her. She is great to work with too and really listened to our requests. Everything was high quality and sounded great. She knows how to keep a party going with a wide diversity of people.

Les used to be my old roomie when I lived in DC. When I found out she was DJing weddings, it was a no brainer to hire her for our wedding and she flew all the way out to Los Angeles to help us out. She was so professional and thorough in making certain she had all the music we wanted to hear on our special day. I was dancing the entire night, I had a blast. I can't say enough good things about Les.. Bottom line is that she is an amazing DJ!

Les, without a doubt, is one of the main reasons our wedding was such a fun, non-stop dance party with so much personality. Les has meticulous attention to detail, excellent overall care and concern for our wishes for the evening. She is also just so down-to-earth cool. One of the coolest people I've met in general. Her eclectic music taste and vast knowledge made it easy for her to understand what we want and turning it into our personalized yet commercially friendly set. I am remiss for not writing a review earlier but the truest, most lasting testament of her work, is that it has been well over two years and guests from the wedding STILL bring up Les and ask for her availability. Leading up to the big day, she met with us thrice – even during a snow storm. We love the way we worked together on the song selections, she dared us to make unconventional song choices and ensured she would make anything work. From 8:30 – 11:30, dance floor was never empty. Les transitioned from one genre to the next seamlessly. Les knows her audience, sensitive to their cues, knows when to turn it up, when to slow it down, intuitive response to emotion in the room and also when to dictate it. Her style is subtle, quiet, right balance of precision, focus and improvisation. Les is apprehensive about getting on the mic but her work speaks for itself. Everything worked out organically as we appointed groomsmen / bridesmaids / VIPs to make intros, announcements…then later we had some memorable unscripted karaoke moments. Les improvised seamlessly, hitting all cues, making everyone feel like a star.

Also, without request, she took some incredible photos on her Canon Mark. Not sure how she even had time since she never took a break. But that was a very nice, unexpected bonus.

On a scale from 1-10, Les is definitely an 14+. My wife and I are lucky to have such lovely, fun friends and family. We are even luckier to have Les leading the way to our most cherished, memorable night.

Les was AMAZING. She was able to interpret the array of musical tastes my husband I have into the perfect set. It's like she's a mind-reader. As we entered the dinner area after our ceremony, my husband said to me, "Oh my god! Love Cats is the PERFECT song to play right now! How did she know to play this song?! I love this song!" and I said, "I dunno. She's the best."
