Gorgeous!
Legare Waring House was the most gorgeous location for our March wedding. The staff was great to work with, and the house was the perfect getting ready location for the girls and guys on the morning of the wedding. Because this venue requires everything being brought in, we hired a full planner (highly recommend Bouquets & Bowties) which made the logistics easy to navigate. Our guests were blown away by the avenue of the Oaks, the gorgeous gardens of cocktail hour and all the history in the house. Perfect venue!-

The most beautiful site to say 'I do'
We seriously could not have picked a better venue for our special day! The site is absolutely breathtaking between the avenue of oaks and the historic house. It was SO nice to have a bridal suite onsite to get ready in the morning of (and my bridal portraits turned out amazing). It decreased so much stress, and it was a lot of fun to watch the setup of the day while my bridesmaids and I were getting ready! The staff is very communicative and friendly! From our first walkthrough to the minute we left the reception they were there for us in whatever we needed! Such a lovely experience from start to finish, and THE most beautiful site to say 'I DO' -

The perfect picturesque spot for a wedding with and amazing team.
The beauty of Legare Waring is hard to put into words - it really is quite breathtaking - and the Legare Waring staff were a pleasure to work with, especially during COVID times. They were very responsive and accomodating to our needs and changes in plans.Legare Waring House's reply:
Thank you for the kind words, Allison! We hope this place always holds special memories for you both, and what a beautiful wedding day it was indeed! -

Beautiful, natural space
One of the most stunning outdoor venues in the Charleston area. Charlestowne Landing is a true gem in this area, and Legare Waring is a very special part of that. The house and grounds are very well kept, and the staff there is so easy to work with, very ready to communicate with you. The house is lovely and a wonderful place to get ready. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and this was due in large part to having our wedding here. Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone! -

Stunning Historic Home
We had our eye on LWH as soon as we decided to have our wedding in Charleston. When we toured it, the beautiful avenue of oaks really sold us. It is unlike anywhere else. So peaceful, serene, and beautiful. We had our ceremony on the avenue of oaks and our reception on the fountain patio. Even in mid-February, the weather was absolutely perfect for an indoor/outdoor wedding.Legare Waring House's reply:
Beautiful words from a beautiful bride! Thank you so much for your kind words Julia! We appreciate you choosing Legare Waring House and are so glad everything met your expectations! -

Gorgeous avenue of oaks views
I love the grand avenue of oaks much like Boone Hall. And the history of this park area is unmatchable. There are views of the river, a pond, incredible oak trees with spanish moss. A lot of amazing wedding photo opportunities.Legare Waring House's reply:
Thank you so much for your kind words! Our park is a beautiful place to get married for sure! We have so many great picture spots! -

I had always dreamed of getting married under an oak tree, and there isn't a more picturesque spot in all of Charleston than Legare Waring House. This venue is romantic, whimsical, and just the perfect amount of wild. What I love about the venue is that you have a water view of the pond, the cathedral like aisle with the Avenue of Oaks, and the gorgeous house to use. It was so special getting ready with all my bridesmaids while watching the magic unfold outside. An added bonus is that you have the choice to use whichever vendors you would like! As a native Charlestonian, I was so proud to have my friends and family explore such a historic and beautiful spot in the convenient area of West Ashley. My NJ relatives were showing their friends photos of the venue even prior to our wedding! I can't wait to get our photos back because I know they will be perfect underneath the Spanish moss. LWH will always hold a special place in my heart.Legare Waring House's reply:
Hey Kelly!
Thank you for your wonderful review. We are so glad everything was perfect for you. This venue is such a spectacular place, we are glad you could hold your wedding here. Your wedding was absolutely beautiful and we loved working with you! Please send us some pictures too, we love seeing them! -

When we stepped foot on the grounds of Legare Waring House, we knew without a doubt that it was the spot we were meant to be married. We had been to many beautiful venues/settings throughout Charleston, but there was just something about LWH that made it stand out from the others. From the picturesque "Avenue of Oaks," to the beautiful lagoon area, to the charming house, there was nothing that didn't completely wow us. Add in the fact that the house had perfect, spacious bride and groom quarters for getting ready (which was harder than expected to find), and that Julie Ann was the most down to earth, sweet person who wanted to help us in any way possible, and we knew it was our spot. Things only got better from there. Beth and her staff were extremely responsive and helpful through every step leading up to the process. They were also very communicative in the weeks leading up to our big day, which was much appreciated since we were planning a wedding from afar. The day of was seamless as well. I heard over and over again from guests who attended our wedding that it was the most beautiful setting for a wedding that they'd ever witnessed. I'd say we'd have to agree. Legare Waring House provided us a fairy tale setting that we will never forget.Legare Waring House's reply:
Thank you so much Lindy and Mike! We absolutely loved having y'all out here and y'all were such a joy to work with! Beautiful couple and beautiful wedding! -

This venue is so stunning, my wedding party and guests were gasping when they first laid eyes on it (and so did I)! I got comments all night on how my venue was the most beautiful people had ever seen, even though it poured rain on my wedding day. Even better, the staff is friendly, experienced, and available for any questions. I did not have any problems at all! The only thing that would be good to know about Legare beforehand is that it is a "bare-bones" venue that requires a wedding planner: there is no in-house catering, no chairs/tables, etc so you have to outsource everything. However, if you are looking for a jaw-dropping venue with the flexibility to choose all your own vendors, I would look no further than LWH!Legare Waring House's reply:
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are so glad everything turned out perfectly (except for the weather, but they say rain is good luck)! We loved having y'all out here! -

This venue is hands down the most gorgeous in Charleston! I mean I may be biased, but several of our guests said it was the prettiest place they’d ever seen and even joked about renewing their vows there! The house is amazing with 4 bridal suites and a room downstairs for the guys. Then the avenue of oaks, wedding oak, patio, and waterfronts with all the greenery and flowers are just breathtaking! The staff are also very responsive to emails and so helpful and encouraging!Legare Waring House's reply:

I honestly could not even dream up a more gorgeous and magical place! The Legare Waring House is the most perfect secret little treasure. I was actually set on another venue and ran across the LWH on pinterest and I was in love. From the first time we stepped on site we knew this was it. The house that is included to get ready in is absolutely gorgeous and so roomy! We were able to get there at 9AM to start getting ready and we were able to enjoy breakfast while getting our hair and make up done. The guys showed up around 1 and got to hang out while getting ready as well in their own grooms quarters downstairs. We got married under the giant 'wedding oak' and our reception was under the avenue of oaks. The trees and moss are incredible and we got SO many compliments on our venue choice. Go check it out -- you will NOT regret it! -

Magical! That's the word all our guests continually say about our wedding at Legare Waring House. My husband and I consider ourselves venue experts after having viewed literally 20 venues in the Charleston area. From numerous plantations to historic houses downtown, we saw it all, but the moment we walked into Legare, we knew that was the one for us. The entire grounds are absolutely stunning and it's only 10 minutes from downtown! We appreciate the easy access for our guests. Our wedding party had a fabulous time getting ready and hanging inside the gorgeous house all day. Everything was absolutely perfect. We still can't get over it!

Legare Waring house is an absolutely beautiful wedding location just outside of charleston. It encapsulates the classic charleston plantation feel without being corny or overbearing.

Legare is a GORGEOUS wedding venue with wonderful staff and lots of amazing options for the entire wedding day! One of the things that made me choose Legare for our wedding was the use of the amazing house for the entire day for the bridal party to get ready. They also have an amazing "men's quarters" in the downstairs of the house completely separate from where the girls get ready upstairs. There was PLENTY of room to get ready for my entire bridal party, both of our moms, my grandmother and our adorable flower girl. We got there around 9am and had lots of room for food, dresses, hair and makeup, etc etc. It was perfect! We had our ceremony under the Avenue of Oaks and our guests were all amazed, especially since most had never been to Charleston before. We had our reception under a tent on the stone patio and it was lovely! We got extremely lucky with the weather in early April, and absolutely loved the venue! A representative from the venue was there on the day of our event and came to check on both me and the groom during the day to ensure the house was a good temperature, etc. We ran into an issue with the timing of the re-sodding of the main area of lawn outside the patio, and they were extremely accommodating and responsive about the issue and it worked out perfectly! The house worked out perfectly, there were no issues with people using the bathrooms available and our wedding was about 125 guests. The scenery is unbeatable, especially when the weather is beautiful. The only thing to keep in mind is that the venue doesn't provide anything in terms of rentals (tables, chairs, etc) so the fee you pay really is just for the venue and use of the house all day. We loved it, just something to think about because it requires a lot of coordination with other vendors since you have bring everything in with you! -

The Legare Waring House property was an utter dream to be married on! We opted for a Friday wedding because the Saturday price point was quite high for us to consider (however, it all goes towards the park and is money well spent!). The house was comfortable and so beautiful to get ready in on the morning of the wedding, and the groom and groomsmen enjoyed their suite as well. The property is dog friendly, so we had our pup with us to enjoy the day as well. Working with the sales manager, Julie Ann, and site coordinator, Courtney, was a very positive experience from start to finish. They allowed us to peek at a real wedding setup one weekend, and we could enter and plan on the grounds any day before 6pm. The only downside of being married at Legare Waring House is that the hours for weddings are very strict -- 6pm to 11pm, and we feel we could have enjoyed one more hour. A golf cart was at our disposal on the Big Day for our photographer to sweep us to beautiful locations. We are so excited that we will forever be able to visit and relive our marriage at this State Historic Park. -

This venue is absolutely STUNNING! We enjoyed our entire experience, from first contact/site visit to the wedding day. The event team is extremely responsive and helpful throughout the process. Being able to have access to the house the day of was perfect, the bridal party was able to get ready there with the hair/makeup team and relax as there was no last minute commute. We used the Wedding Oak, the patio are and the Avenue of Oaks for our wedding day and it was perfect! I highly recommend this venue, your experience will be top notch! -

We held both the ceremony and reception at this beautiful venue. From the very start, Julieanne and the girls at the Legare Waring House were very helpful and responsive to questions. We held the ceremony under the Avenue of Oaks which provided some relief from the record heat that day! We tented the patio area and had the bar/lounge area towards the pond. The beautiful house with its bridal suites and grooms quarters was just perfect! All the guests commented on the beauty of the venue. It made the day perfect! -

We can't even begin to put into words how beautiful Legare Waring is and what a wonderful experience we had there but we will try! We got married there on April 24th, 2015 and the whole event was beyond magical and everything we dreamed of. A large part of the reason is because of the beauty and intimacy of Legare Waring. Our guests RAVED about how beautiful it was and how they felt like they were in some sort of romantic fairy tale from the start of the wedding to finish!!
In my somewhat biased opinion, I don't think there is any other wedding venue in Charleston that could top Legare Waring. We used the house the whole day to get ready and everybody there was so friendly and accommodating! With the unparalleled awe inspiring help of our fabulous wedding planner, Sara Cavallon, from Cavallon Celebrations, the whole day was everything we dreamed of and more!! Perdecr weather, the beauty of the Legare and Courtney, the on site coordinator, also helped to contribute to a perfect day! We can't wait to see the photos produced from being at such a beautiful venue!
We will be back to visit Legare Waring for years to come and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping to make our wedding a dream come true!! We feel truly blessed! -

We LOVE Julie Ann who manages all of the Charlestowne Landing properties. She is absolutely amazing and wonderful. The venue is beautiful and we can't wait to have our big day there. It's been so nice getting to visit and make use of our complimentary park pass so that we can really get a sense of the place, the house, and how we envision our wedding. All of the people who work at the Legare Waring House in managing its special events have been very kind and attentive. And we love that this venue is still a bit of a hidden gem, though I don't suspect it will be that way for very much longer! -

My daughter got married on November 23, 2013 Under The Oaks at Legare Waring. We looked at many venues, but Legare Waring offered everything we wanted--ceremony under the oaks, four bridal suites, historic house and Manager Julie Ann Oldham is the best. Unfortunately, it rained during the reception, but we were able to have the ceremony under the oaks, and we did use a tent, so it worked out fine. Our guests were in awe of the site with strings of lights, mason jars hanging from the tree and the beauty of the house. It was perfect. Thank you Julie Ann and staff for all your help. -

Legare Waring House is absolutely everything I thought it would be. Unfortunately it rained on my wedding day so I could not get married under the avenue of oaks like we hoped for, but the wedding was still beautiful. It's definitely a plus that they finished the patio around the fountain, I couldn't imagine having to the reception in the grass. Interior of the house is absolutely charming and provided ample space for us to utilize throughout the afternoon and the bridal emergency kit came in handy. Julie Ann and Taylor were also very pleasant and extremely helpful from the beginning! I would definitely recommend Legare! -

This was the first venue we looked at, and basically the last. Once I saw the 'avenue of the oaks' I was hooked. That is how I always visualized getting married...outside in a place that looks like that! I love that Charlestowne Landing is a park and that the proceeds go towards keeping it that way. It's a BEAUTIFUL area to get married, from the start of driving into Charlestowne Landing, then following the road back into Legare Waring House. It's just beautiful and perfect and secluded. I know I am biased, but I think it is the prettiest site to have a wedding in Charleston. It's also reasonably priced for how gorgeous it is. Another plus is that you have the site from 9:30 on and there are several huge bridal suites to get ready in, along with a man-cave in the house for the guys. Julie Ann and Gabby were so great to work with too. The whole planning process was as enjoyable as it could have been. This is a venue that will 'wow' your guests with the natural beauty of it. I LOVE this place! -

Legare is honestly one of the most beautiful venues I have ever seen. We got married in front of the pond with the big tree as our backdrop. The pictures of the ceremony are absolutely stunning. We put up the tent under the avenue of oaks and you really just feel completely removed and disconnected from everything else, and got a beautiful view of the house from under the trees. Even our guy friends were commenting that they felt like they were in a fantasy land. Everyone was super nice and helpful, and everything was truly beautiful. Thank you! -

I had my wedding at Legare and it was the most beautiful venue imaginable. My husband and I toured a lot of different locations in Charleston and we ultimately picked Legare because it is breathtaking but also because Julie Ann was amazing. She was so warm and helpful during the tour. We live in Chicago and didn't return to Charleston at all between the time we visited to pick a venue and the wedding. Julie Ann and her team were really accessible and helpful throughout the planning process. I loved working with them and would highly recommend this as a wedding venue. Our guests said they felt like they were in a movie because the natural scenery is so gorgeous. We had the ceremony in the avenue of oaks and then had cocktail hour by the pond. We put the band and tent in the area by the fountain. Everything was perfect. -

Fabulous! If you want southern charm and grace look no further. Not only will you get fantastic shots outside but you have tons of choices for where you'd like your ceremony to be and how you'd like to set up your reception. The house is beautiful and has plenty of room for your bridal party and the groomsmen to get ready. It's the perfect fit! -

We had an October wedding at Legare Waring House and it turned out beautifully! The whole house grounds is so pretty and has lots of southern charm. Julie-Ann was our contact at the house and she was so great to work with! She would help us with anything we needed throughout the whole wedding process. The whole wedding was outside in such a beautiful location! Book early - they fill up fast! -

Legare Waring House was a dream wedding venue. It is such a beautiful space between the house, the row of oaks, and the area next to the house by the big oak tree. We utilized it all! It's nice to have an outdoor wedding with a place for people to get away and go inside if they'd like to. The inside of the house has furniture and is decorated so cute unlike some other venues where you'd have to rent furniture for inside the house. We also loved the fact that the entire upstairs is the bridal suite and there were 2 rooms for the grooms to hang out in. Lee was amazing to work with and so helpful with everything!!! It was a little tough to get in touch with Julie Ann in the beginning to confirm things, but besides that everything went really smoothly! I could not recommend getting married here more. -

To be quite honest, Legare Waring House wasn't my first choice of our destination wedding. I had my eyes on the Carriage House at the Magnolia Plantation at first but it was so popular that all the dates left available would not work with my schedules. Then the search continued until I saw pictures of the Legare Waring House. It had the garden theme that I was going for, plus the historic building that was truly unique. Our ceremony was at the avenue of oaks which provided the perfect backdrop and shade from the unusual scorching June weather (95F). I made a gutsy choice by not having a tent set up as I wanted alfresco style of dining and not having the house blocked. Luckily it never rained and there was enough natural shade by the time reception started.
The 4 bridal suites and 2 groom's spaces were a big plus, in addition to the on-site commercial kitchen. We did still need to rent tables, chairs, and linens. The house was air-conditioned, but not big enough to hold a full reception. A tent would most likely be the only rain plan option without changing the venue. A tented reception involving draping (even partial) could be quite costly. This was something I found out later on.
Julie Ann was experienced and well connected. She provided a list of preferred vendors that was extremely helpful for anybody planning a destination wedding. There was a personnel change but the transition did not affect any aspect of my wedding planning.
Overall, I was very happy with my venue choice. It was a dream come true :) Every guest complimented on how beautiful and amazing the venue looked. Even though it was a huge venue, we were still able to create an intimate setting for 30 guests. -

5/25/25 Wedding!
Everything was absolute perfection, which is impressive because it down poured all morning. The team was flexible and ready to help with anything needed. We were given a wide range of time for our rehearsal the day before, the team was always responsive with any questions and helpful with a list of suggestions. Everyone in attendance said it was beautiful and they had never been to a place like Legare. Vendors had positive reviews as well. The team made us feel welcome and accommodated. They do have a social media so you can check out other weddings and ideas which is awesome!-

Perfect Outdoor Venue
I think this is one of the most stunning outdoor venues in the Charleston area and was a dream for my destination wedding. The house and grounds are very well kept, and the staff was always responsive to my emails/questions, especially during COVID. They worked with me when I postponed my wedding from 2020 to 2021. The house was the selling point for my husband and me and was truly a wonderful place to get ready. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and my guests couldn't stop talking about how picture-perfect everything came out to be (even with the rain!). Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone!-

After searching the entire country, nearly booking in another state, and almost signing a contract with another venue in the area, we feel so incredibly lucky and blessed to have chosen Legare Waring House for our destination wedding. The alternative venue was so incredibly rude and difficult to work with, while the team at Legare was the definition of polar opposite. We booked site unseen having never been to Charleston before, and aside from the obvious beauty of the venue, the team made both us and our wedding planner feel as though they truly wanted us to celebrate our special day with them. Also, my husband truly appreciated having a groom’s quarters that made him feel like he had a special place for him and his guys to hang out. Legare Waring House will forever be not only a special place, but a true gem to help us remember the most important day of our life. -

We seriously could not have picked a more beautiful venue to host our wedding! Overall, they were really flexible and nice to work with. They always got back to me within a day or two, and were super thorough in all of their answers to my questions! The only thing I would say is that I wish I'd gotten to meet or speak with the venue manager/coordinator more and that she'd done the walk-through along with us, but that's mostly a personal preference, as you will have an outside coordinator who should pretty much know all the ins and outs of the venue already! I also do wish we'd had more time to get our stuff off the property; my parents felt a bit rushed to get everything and go, and it would have been nice to have even an extra half hour for them to get organized. Not a biggie in the end, and definitely does NOT mar my opinion of this venue at all!
The property itself is beyond words! Our pictures have turned out more incredible than I ever imagined because the house and grounds are just so perfectly well-lit. It's all very shaded, too, which was really nice for a summer wedding! We tented the patio, which was a really great option as well...all the vendors and guests appreciated some shade at the tables and dance floor :) The inside is spacious and gorgeously decorated, with plenty of upstairs room to hold your things and some lounge space while getting ready. My husband was in love with the grooms quarters. LWH was a bit pricey for us, but I think it's really money well-spent. My friend even asked if she could have her wedding there! Definitely work a look! -

Like a fairytale
We happened upon Legare Waring House when we were visiting Charleston prior to getting engaged. My husband and I absolutely fell in love with EVERYTHING about this venue, but "the avenue of the oaks" was what really solidified our decision to book. The Spanish moss hanging from the long row of trees is like something out of a fairytale. We also loved this particular site because of the perfect "dressing quarters" for both the bride/bridesmaids and the groom/groomsmen. Lastly, we loved the impression it had on our guests! I can't even count how many times we heard people gushing over how gorgeous the property was. The person that described it best said, "It's like being in a Nicholas Sparks novel!"Legare Waring House's reply:
Thank you so much for your review Whitnee! We loved working with y'all. A beautiful couple and a beautiful wedding! We love that description! -

We chose Legare Waring House for its beautiful Spanish moss lined oak trees, quaint lagoon, and gorgeous white house. It checked off all of our boxes. The only thing we wish could have have been better was the communication between us and the Venue Coordinator. There were times when we tried to get in touch with her only to hear nothing back. We had to reach out to another contact at Legare Waring to get some questions answered after a couple weeks of no response. Also, they required a mandatory venue walkthrough no later than 2 weeks before the wedding and the coordinator was not there for our scheduled time. There was another representative there, thankfully, who was able to perform the walkthrough with us. Nothing else comes with the venue, only the house and setting. You will need to hire a number of other vendors, which we had no problem with, as we wanted to make the decor our own. All in all, it was a fantastic place to get married! -
