  Legacy Union was one of the few great things in 2020

  We immediately knew we hired the right company when we signed on with Matthew. He was flexible, thoughtful and clearly loved his work. Best of all, he wanted us to be happy. My wife and I immediately felt comfortable with him during our engagement shoot—Matthew had a way of making us smile and laugh whenever we got too serious or in our heads.
  
  Obviously, the wedding to come would not turn out the way either party expected. COVID changed everything, but Matthew not only understood, he made it even more special by partnering with a videographer to make up for the lost hours and time of our original ceremony. The incredible result helped us show ourselves off to the friends and family that couldn’t be there. It made me cry, made my wife cry, and our parents cry, and I’m tempted to submit it for the Oscars.
  
  My wife and I got married with Matthew, his videographer Kaleb, and only four other people in attendance, two of whom were vendors. That we don’t have any regrets about it, and that it felt like we had the wedding of our dreams anyway is in part due to the work Legacy Union put into the photos and video of the event.
  
  Matthew did not treat us like clients, but as friends, and that’s exactly what we needed in 2020. We’re so grateful to have found him.

  Great Experience

  Our experience was nothing short of amazing. The level of professionalism is astounding and the care they take into making sure we are comfortable is nice as well. Our friends and family absolutely loved our photos as did we.

  Great Engagement Photos!

  We loved how Matthew incorporated the plants in the meadow in the pictures! He delivered 154 photos less than 48 hours after our engagement session and we love the photos!

  Amazing experience

  I recently had my engagement photoshoot with Matt on 05/18/2022. Our photoshoot was held in the Malibu mountains, I am so happy to have had the amazing experience Matt provided. He made our photoshoot experience so memorable and fun. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. The photos were ready earlier than expected and they are amazing! I highly recommend Matt, he is such a nice guy and makes you feel comfortable and was great at giving my partner direction on posing. This was my Fiancés and I's first time doing any photoshoot together and I just can't stop raving about how our experience was so great! I wish I could rate 100 STARS!!

  Immediately, YES. A million times, absolutely, YES.

  Immediately, YES. A million times, absolutely, YES. This will be a long one, but it’s impossible not to rave about the experience we had with Matt and his team for our wedding! From the very first response from Matt, it was the most seamless experience. We had a five-day Indian-Mexican fusion wedding to plan and regardless of how many questions we asked or how chaotic the days seemed, Matt never took longer than a few minutes to respond and was beyond flexible and accommodating when working out schedules, he also always made himself available for phone or video calls to talk through things. Matt also heard us out on what type of photography styles we wanted (mostly candid with some portrait). When it came time to finally shoot with him and see the results, we were completely blown away.
  
  During our engagement shoot, Matt proved to be such a seasoned professional by directing us so well and even had fun ways to make us laugh throughout. He immediately helped to break the ice, calm the nerves, and made us feel extremely comfortable! Not only was he mindful and knowledgeable of the space for the best shots, but he intentionally made sure to get shots of poses I had originally sent him for inspiration – he pulled them up during the shoot and made sure he got each one without me having to ask which I didn’t expect but deeply appreciated! Even though he had travel plans (the very next day) he still managed to edit and send our gallery over within a week. We were so impressed, thankful, and completely in love with his work!
  
  Finally, for our wedding, we had the pleasure of working with him, Kelly, Arielle and Caleb (for video). No one ever tells you how important it is to have a good team with you on these big days, and Legacy Union was exactly that and so much more. This team was incredibly kind, friendly, fun, and (arguably) most importantly, ALWAYS on time and well-prepared each day. Matt is so knowledgeable about off-site locations, not only did he find us the perfect spot for our Indian wedding shoot, but he and Caleb also thought outside the box for ways to get unique, iconic shots for us. They also took our suggestions throughout, never said no to trying something new and did everything to make sure we got the shots we wanted. Some of the only time you get alone with your partner in between ceremonies is during these photo sessions, and these were the most memorable and intimate moments we still think about thanks to this team!
  
  Whether it’s your wedding, engagement shoot, or family portraits, PLEASE BOOK LEGACY UNION. If not for the unmatched skill, results, and customer service, for the chance to meet and work with genuine human beings who truly love what they do. I promise you are in the best hands.   My dream photos

  Matthew and his second shooter Ariel were incredible. My husband and I are speechless at our photos. Matthew was able to capture our love in a way that felt so natural and easy. He was organized, timely, and professional. The cocktail hour was shot by his second shooter and our guests RAVED about her!
  
  I wish I had more words to describe the experience we had working with Matthew!
  
  He is open to adjusting your package if needed (which we did) as well as so helpful with consulting on the wedding timeline, shot lists, etc. We did not go with videography but we’re nearly kicking purselves over it because we can tell it would have been perfection!

  Can’t say enough good things about Matthew and Legacy Union Photo Co for our engagement photos! Matthew was prompt and responsive via email, very accessible, and prepared us well for the day of our shoot. He gives you a few location options for your session, we chose ours to be Pasadena City Hall. Day of, he was on time and ready. Friendly and professional all the way, he took us to prime picturesque spots and had us try a variety of poses and moments. Many were his suggestion but he was open to our ideas too. He did not waste a moment of time and was always ready with his gear and suggestions. We got a lot of photos and it went by quicker than we thought. When Matthew sent us the link with the select photos that he expertly touched up, we were very happy with the results. We sent many to friends and family and also posted a few on our wedding website.

  Great to work with!

  We booked Matthew for our wedding in DTLA and he was awesome! We weren't sure initially how he would be since his services were so affordable but the photos ended up super polished and beautiful. He took instruction and feedback and ideas super well. That is, we had an idea to do selfie style photos for everyone and he understood the assignment and knocked them out of the park. On the other hand, he gave guidance and direction while taking photos very well. He's super nice and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

  Matt is the best! He's experienced, very responsive, flexible and organized, answered our many questions and gave us recommendations that really help us calm our pre-wedding jitters. The day of our wedding was 90F+, but that did not deter Matt one bit, he is extremely hardworking and efficient, we were amazed at what he was able to cover as a solo photographer for our wedding of 150. As for the photos, WOW!! they were beaaauuutiful! We are noramlly not good photo posers, but somehow we look relaxed and great in every shot ;) We are going to have so much trouble choosing which ones to print. Thank you Matt for giving us photos to cherish for life! Highly recommend.

  10/10 - Absolute best!

  I can not recommend enough! We are absolutely obsessed with our photos. Matt made the entire experience so easy and fun! It was our first time in front of the camera and is was so fun! I highly recommend Matt for everyone!

  Easy, professional, reliable, fun

  Hiring Legacy Union was one of the best choices we could’ve made for our wedding day. Kaleb had a very relaxed approach which put us immediately at ease. They were quick to recommend going to a nearby park which created a beautiful setting for our session. Mathew delivered the pictures to us surprisingly quickly and photograph after photograph, surpassed our expectations. Everyone we have shared them with, comments on how beautiful and aesthetic it all looks, like taken out of a fairy tale. Most of all, to us, they captured the love and emotion felt that day. Could not recommend them enough!

  Just say YES …

  Honestly- don’t look further! That were the best pictures! We had a bohemian wedding and the pictures were on point!
  The photographer was on time and was quick in getting the shots .
  Would definitely recommend! And if I have another occasion I will definitely book again too as the price is really fair!

  Amazing day and amazing photos!

  Matthew was quick to respond after reaching out about pricing and options for an engagement shoot. He was super flexible with dates/times after life made us postpone our first date and we really appreciated that! Matthew was friendly and made us both feel super comfortable in front of the camera - we'd never had any "real" photos taken together and I wasn't sure if we'd look or feel uncomfortable, but Matthew made it super easy and made us feel like models! We had a more casual outfit for the engagement photos and then fancier clothes that we were going to wear for our Zoom wedding a couple weeks later (thanks COVID!) and he treated the photos we took in the fancy clothes like the wedding photos we weren't going to be able to have for that day - I couldn't have been happier! When we got the link to our photos, we were completely blown away! For a session that was less than 2 hours, he provided us with great variety and edits on over 300 (!!) photos.. I couldn't believe it - and delivered only 2 weeks after our shoot. The only negative is that I don't know how to choose from all the amazing shots... I guess my walls will just be covered in all of them :-) His gallery portal was super user friendly and easy to share and download. I highly recommend Matthew and so appreciate him helping us turn a weird situation with our engagement/wedding and the potential for it not feeling very special, into a day that was amazing and photos that I am excited to share with family and friends and will truly be family heirlooms. Thank you again Matthew!!

  Must Hire for your wedding!

  Matthew and his team are amazing! I had the privilege of working with him for a wedding I planned and coordinated in April of 2022. It was so easy to work with him throughout the planning process, and his photos & videos turned out so beautifully. If you are looking for a photo & video duo, Matthew is your guy! I highly recommend them for your wedding!

  Great experience with Legacy Union

  My husband Steven and I had the absolute best time working with Matthew and his team at Legacy Union. The day of the wedding can be stressful and chaotic at times, but Matthew made sure to make us feel prioritized, taken care of and special throughout the entire day/night. I don’t know if we would have even thought of asking to take extra pictures of just the two of us during the reception. Luckily, Matthew kindly asked if we wanted to go back outside and shoot some more photos, where he and the videographer captured some incredible moments, during golden hour and then again during blue hour. We were beyond blown away and happy with our photos and videos.

Luckily, Matthew kindly asked if we wanted to go back outside and shoot some more photos, where he and the videographer captured some incredible moments, during golden hour and then again during blue hour. We were beyond blown away and happy with our photos and videos.

  Great experience!

  We used Matthew for our wedding day photography because we liked his photography and editing style. We interviewed him and felt immediately at ease with his professionalism and personality. On the wedding day he was punctual and really delivered on what we wanted, which was rich colors and lots of photos of our guests. I wholeheartedly recommend!

  Matthew’s work is amazing! We loved our wedding pictures. He’s very professional, and knew exactly how to get the best shot by making us confortable. We could not have asked for a better experience, or better pictures! In addition to that, prior to the wedding he was very kind and flexible: our wedding was happening during Covid and we had to reschedule twice. He made it very easy for us to pick another date, and even gave us a list of alternative suggestions since our wedding venue went bankrupt. All in all, we would recommend Matthew 150%!

  Stunning Photography & Videography!

  Matthew was fantastic to work with! He was responsive, accommodating, and most important of all, he took absolutely beautiful wedding photos. On the day of the wedding, my fiance and I never felt like he was rushed for time even though we only booked him for 2 hours, and he made sure we got all the shots we wanted. We hadn't originally planned for videography, but my parents insisted on it since the pandemic forced us to plan a small wedding. We added it on after we had already booked Legacy for the photography, and I remember thinking it seemed expensive to pay as much for filming a 20 minute ceremony as it cost for the 2 hours of photography, but I didn't think too much about it since it was my parent's call and they offered to pay for that part of the service. After seeing the video, wow, did they get their money's worth! I assumed the videography would be a pretty straightforward video start to end of the ceremony, but the production quality was amazing! The editing was beautiful, Matthew added in music throughout that was perfectly done, there were establishing shots, aerial shots (I don't even know how they managed to get those before the ceremony started!)...I could go on. Point is, we couldn't be happier that we had Legacy Union do our photography and videography for the wedding. Matthew and Kaleb (the videographer) were a pleasure to work with!

  Matthew and his team were absolutely wonderful to work with. We would give more than 5 stars if possible. They were professional, punctual, communicative, and especially accommodating! Matthew and his team definitely provided a very stress-free, high-quality experience. I will admit that I was a bit nervous since we chose his company based on his amazing work and others' reviews , but my new husband and I have no regrets at all. The photos he captured and video created exceeded our expectations. We are so happy with Legacy Union Photo Co, and will definitely be inquiring about a family portrait session in the near future!

I continuously receive compliments on our engagement and wedding videos. Even though there were many changes regarding our wedding due to the pandemic, Matthew coordinated with Leo and I and truly helped me make my backyard wedding a successful one. We had met several times discussing the details and those were super helpful. Honestly, the wedding was eventually becoming stressful as it got closer but knowing I have a great videographer by my side definitely provided sense of comfort and peace.
