Wonderful Harpist

Laura worked with me to customize music for my ceremony. She even learned a Taylor Swift song! She was very responsive and clear with her needs for setup. I highly recommend her.

Beautiful music!

Laura was incredibly easy to work with, and while we weren't around for much of her playing… all the guests raved about the enchanting music! She was very familiar with the Gramercy Mansion and played at both the ceremony and cocktail hour. We sent her a list of random songs we liked, and she surprised us with familiarity playing nearly all of them (and was willing to learn the others). She was exactly what we were looking for!

A truly timeless sound! We could not imagine our wedding any other way. Laura set the mood for a lovely afternoon of enjoying the company of family and friends. She is too humble for her unbelievable talent. Check her out on YouTube or on her website. We were sold at the first song.

Laura did an absolutely BEAUTIFUL job at our wedding in May 2017. Her repertoire is excellent and she was so easy to work with! She asked what kind of music we wanted and I just said "impressionist" and she worked with it! She was professional, sweet, and most importantly, played beautifully. HIGHLY recommend her for any event!!

I knew from the moment I got engaged that I wanted to walk down the aisle to a live harp; my Aunt walked down the aisle to one and it is forever ingrained in my heart as the most perfect way to get married. I initially found Laura through a google search and then my wedding planner confirmed that she was amazing. We communicated via email and the process was seamless. I sent her a list of songs from her website and she filled in the “gaps” with similar music for our prelude. While I did not get to meet Laura officially on my wedding day (she only played the ceremony) I will forever remember her music - I walked down the aisle to Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World. Her talent is undeniable and it really made my ceremony perfect. I would instantly recommend Laura to anyone looking for a classic, beautiful way to enter into your wedding ceremony.

Laura was AMAZING at our wedding! The day was such a blur but I knew I didn't have to worry at all about Laura. I gave her a genre of music my husband and I liked and one song for the entrance. She played beautifully and was so professional!

We were married June 3, 2017 in an outside evening ceremony at Mt. Washington Mill - Dye House in Baltimore, Maryland. Laura's sound and presence was perfect for our classic, industrial and urban setting. She plays beautifully and definitely made our ceremony perfect! She also played as guests arrived. I would highly recommend Laura on all levels!

Laura was great! Even while she was in the middle of moving she kept in touch with all the details and planning. She played wonderfully during the ceremony and played some special requests during the reception. The guests were very happy with her rendition of some of our favorites!

Laura provided the perfect ambiance for our George Peabody Wedding. We knew we wanted the beautiful harp to play during our ceremony, but we weren't sure exactly what songs. Laura sent us long lists of everything she plays (both classic and modern) and it made it easier for us to decide. In the end, we even added a song she didn't have in her list, and she learned it and played it for us. We decided we'd also like a violin to accompany her and she provided someone she worked with regularly so it wasn't any extra work for us to organize. She was professional and talented and made my ceremony sound exactly as I had always dreamed.

Laura was such a phenomenal addition to our wedding. Her playing was beautiful and added so much to the magic of our ceremony. Even better, she took the time to learn a new song to play for us as we walked back down the aisle hand in hand as husband and wife. It was the perfect touch, and her playing was so well-done, we could hardly help singing to one another as we walked! If you're looking for a harpist, Laura is a phenomenal choice.

Laura Stokes did an excellent job at our ceremony. She played a beautiful version of Pachelbel’s Canon that I truly enjoyed walking down to and my husband was happy to have the option in choosing a sentimental song for he and the bridal party to walk down to. Many of our guests complimented Laura and her playing and our families appreciated the sentimental songs (choices that we had because she has a diverse repertoire). She was truly a pleasure and a high note in our ceremony.

Laura Stokes and a flutist played during the cocktail hour of my niece's wedding reception in the Peabody Library (Baltimore, MD). The music was well-selected and beautifully played, and both performers were professional in every way. I highly recommend them.

Laura did a wonderful job on our wedding. She and her band played instrumentals so professionally that guests were amazed by that the classical music worked so well with our wedding venue - the peabody music institute library. It was a great experience working with Laura. I highly recommend her.

Laura was awesome for my wedding day. I had very little to do as she handled everything in terms of finding music and making me feel like she had everything under control. She was timely and completed the job as we discussed.

Laura provided the most beautiful musical program for our wedding ceremony and reception. She helped us design the song list and even worked on a new arrangement of one of our favorite songs. She is wonderfully talented and personally a joy to work with. My husband and I and our guests were very impressed by the music, how Laura presented herself and of course her beautiful harp. All in all a great experience we'll remember forever.

Laura was amazing. We had some serious challenges with a hurricane deciding to show up when my daughter's wedding was taking place in our backyard! We had some last minute location changes (i.e., the wedding was outside - then she played for our cocktail hour as well). Her Harp had to be moved twice which is no easy feat, especially with the weather. She was more than accommodating. Laura was friendly, professional and just a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone for your wedding. Our other daughter is getting married this coming September, and she's first on my list to book for that as well!

I never got to meet Laura but I am so happy with the service she provided. Our wedding music was beautiful. We talked on the phone about a few songs I had in mind and she recommended a few others to fill the time for what we wanted. Other than that we communicated by email and she is very responsive. She was also very willing to learn new songs on the harp and did everything we asked of her. The harp sounded really really beautiful in the church. I would highly recommend Laura! She made the process very painless and she was great to work with.

Laura was such a joy to work with! From the very beginning she was pleasant and very professional. She worked with my fiancé and I throughout the whole wedding process, and was more than open to all of my music suggestions and preferences! Laura made sure to check in often, and even learned a few songs she didn't know to play throughout my ceremony and reception! She was the only musician we had at our wedding, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way! She's a wonderful harpist and I had so many guests come up to me afterwards and compliment me for choosing her! I highly recommend!

If your looking to add elegant romance and a classic touch , look no more. Laura Stokes is a very talented Harpist. I first met her at a friends wedding 11/15/14, she was playing as guest arrived and through the procession. I immediately knew that when I got married, I needed to have her part of my wedding . Just a few weeks later I was engaged and she was the first vendor I booked after the venue. From beginning to end it was a seamless process, I ended up booking her for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Laura played the harp before and after our wedding ceremony, and we couldn't be happier! Laura is an extremely talented musician, as well as an excellent vendor. She was very easy to deal with and responded within one day to any questions I had for her. We chose a mixture of classical music with contemporary for our wedding, but Laura provides a large selection of songs on her website, and invites her clients to choose whatever music they want. I had many compliments from our guests on Laura's music during our wedding. My only regret was, as the bride, I didn't get a chance to meet Laura in person to thank her for the fantastic job she did for our wedding. THANK YOU LAURA!!!!

I was so lucky to have Laura play during cocktail hour for our wedding. She played beautifully, and it really added a special & elegant element to our the start of our reception. Laura was such a pleasure to work with. I had heard her play at a friend's wedding, so I already knew she was an extremely talented musician. I had some special requests, so when choosing a harpist it was important to me they would be willing to learn new music. Laura was more than happy to oblige. I selected 3 specific songs that I wanted her to play during the ceremony. Laura played all 3 flawlessly. In the process of learning the songs, she even reworked the pieces a bit, to be the correct length for the walk of the aisle. Laura also sent me a recording during the process to make sure I was happy with her work. She did an excellent job filling in musical choices for the rest of the ceremony and cocktail hour. I only wish it was someone else's wedding so I could have heard her play more! Very professional, very talented, very accommodating, very easy to work with. Definitely hire her!

Laura played our wedding in Fells Point, Baltimore on May 30 of 2015. She arrived early, was extremely courteous, and totally willing to work with us on song selections (even worked on learning a couple of songs that were not your typical songs you hear from a harpist) prior to our big day. We could not have been more pleased, and I would absolutely recommend her for any occasion and have nothing but nice things to say about her.

I was extremely pleased with Laura and her violinist at my daughter's recent wedding at Oriole Park at Camden Yards! They played at the ceremony and the cocktail hour. The ceremony music set the tone of elegance in a venue that is usually loud and carefree which is exactly what we needed. It let the guests know that I wanted the wedding ceremony more reserved. I let Laura choose the music to be played at cocktail hour and I'm glad I dd! She was very professional and her harp is absolutely beautiful. I would recommend this lady and her violinist to anyone having a wedding - the sound of the two together is absolutely magical!

Laura did a beautiful job prior to and during our wedding ceremony. It was absolutely beautiful. I was able to open the window in our dressing suite and listen prior to and have heard so many guests talk about just how pretty the music sounded, etc. Having a harpist at the wedding has always been a dream for my mom and I know she was extremely pleased and happy for it not only to work out, but to also be as beautiful as it was.

Laura was excellent to work with, and did a fabulous job at our wedding. We told her exactly what we were looking for as music for the ceremony and the cocktail hour, and she did a perfect job. As an added bonus, Laura works at the Peabody Library as well, and has played there a lot, so she knew all of the people and vendors working the event. She was super helpful in making sure the night went smoothly, which was totally outside of what her responsibilities were!

Our wedding was absolutely incredible with Laura's help! We had a traditional and elegant wedding at a private museum, and we wanted the music to be something original. After searching for months for string quartets to different harpists, I came across Laura by a personal recommendation. Laura delivered with amazing professionalism! Her harp in person is truly magnificent, and the music was incredible. The whole process from start to finish was extremely professional. Laura accompanied an opera singer for us for the whole ceremony. I was offered numerous selections of music, and I was able to request one with a special rendition. Her experience definitely showed through as she was able to play anything that we picked. We had Laura play for the ceremony and the cocktail hour. Our guests gave us nonstop compliments for her work. I highly highly recommend Laura!!! We were incredibly lucky to have found her.

Laura was on time to get set up with her harp. I was very busy finalizing my niece's wedding. Her selection of music was very beautiful and I received so many compliments about Laura's selections. Laura playing her harp set the tone for my niece's beautiful wedding. If I need a harpist ever again for another occasion, Laura Stokes would be my first choice

Laura performed music on the harp for our outdoor wedding ceremony. She was wonderful! She met with me in person prior to the wedding, to meet and allow me to hear her play, so that we could decide on songs for the ceremony. She had great suggestions and it is clear that she has a lot of experience with weddings. I found her to be very friendly, professional, and talented. I highly recommend her!

Laura was a joy to work with. She provided excellent suggestions for musical choices and had a wide repertoire of pieces to chose from. The weather was a major concern for our outside ceremony but she and her colleagues managed to work around it and we were covered even through a light rain shower fell during part of the ceremony. Her colleagues were also first rate.

Laura was extremely professional and wonderful to work with, and was very accommodating given the wide range of requests in our family! Our guests were blown away by her talent, and I'm still getting comments about how beautiful the ceremony music was (almost three months later!). Couldn't recommend her more strongly.

Laura was great! She's very professional and nice. I had originally given her a later start time (and that was the time that was in our contract). I sent her the new time in an email and she made sure to verify as the day got closer. She even learned a song for us! She was awesome!

Laura Stokes was wonderful. From the very beginning, my mother and I had our hearts set on classical harp music for my wedding ceremony at Corpus Christi Church. My mom found Laura online and we were immediately drawn to her because she is a standout student at the acclaimed Johns Hopkins' Peabody Institute.

From the very beginning, Laura was extremely easy to work with. Her prices were very fair, she is flexible in terms of timing and transportation, and, above all, her musical talent is extraordinary. We played a selection of classical music and I thought everything went off perfectly. I would recommend Laura to any friend getting married and have received nothing but positive feedback from guests since the wedding. Thank you, Laura!

We are so thrilled with Laura. She did an amazing job. Her music was beautiful and we received so many compliments. Laura played for our ceremony and cocktail hour and it really set the tone for the rest of the evening. She had a lot of great ideas during the planning process and was very responsive with any questions we had. She was realiable and on time for the wedding and we didn't have to worry about a thing. I was very pleased with Laura's services! We met her the day we chose our venue, as she was giving the tours that day. She is immensely talented, and was very willing to play the songs of our choice. She also accepted payment through PayPal, both the deposit and balance, which was convenient! She was patient with my indecisiveness, and a calming presence on my wedding day. Thank you, Laura~!

Ms. Laura Stokes was the harpist at my wedding, and she was amazing. Very beautiful music. I was not exactly decisive in what I wanted her to play, so I let her choose some of the pieces. She did a wonderful job in her selections. All my guest raved about her. Very pleased.

Laura was great and the guests loved her music. I was a little disappointing that the music wasn't as loud as expected for my mother to hear me walking down the aisle with my father to my parents wedding song, it was too quite to hear, but the rest of the evening went beautifully :)
