YWCA, Cafe Julia is a private venue that is hidden in the heart of downtown area. Best decision we have made to have our ceremony and reception held. The food is the bomb dot com, you have the whole place to yourself (bar area, a close area just in case it rained, and the courtyard). We had our wedding in the court yard and it was beautiful!!! I love how they have chiavari chairs and their venue is based on old history. I love how it is very vintage looking which is why we picked that place. It is very intimate and can only fit about 180-190 people. Kelii was very great at communicating with me through emails! Thank you to all the workers there & Kelii for making our wedding day a great night!!! Also, the bartenders were great. We brought in our own alcohol and they served it for her which was good! The parking garage is couple minutes walking distance to the venue and the price for the parking garage is about 3 bucks. It is in the heart of downtown area, in back of the State Capital, by Iolani Palace and near the Post Office to take awesome pictures after the wedding ceremony which is a plus! -

BEAUTIFUL VENUE! The open-air corridors, courtyard and pool provide a Hawaiian sense of respite within the bustling business district of downtown Honolulu. Great Service, great food, romantic ambiance. We planned a destination wedding in Honolulu. This place is amazing, very accommodating and easy to work with. The food is impressive, the menu selection was exquisite. Tables, chairs, bistro lights, staff was all exceptionally impressive! It was all perfect. No hidden fees, extremely flexible. They provide lots of staff to ensure a fast set up and served dinner. As I was booking vendors for music, officiant services, cake and flowers every single vendor had great things to say about this place. It made me feel really confident about my booking....BEAUTIFUL VENUE! My husband and I got married on the grounds of 'Iolani Palace, and the YWCA courtyard was the perfect venue for our reception! Laniakea's on-site coordinator, Kelii, was very responsive and accommodating in the months leading up to the event, and all the other staff we came into contact with were great as well. I really wanted a full-service venue so that I didn't have to deal with hiring a caterer, renting tables and chairs, etc., and the YWCA provided all that and more -- they even left up some beautiful chandeliers and garland lights from a previous event that made the space even more romantic. We fit about 120 guests comfortably in the courtyard, but I also checked that the ballroom was available as a backup space in case of rain (Hawaii can get hit by sudden storms in August). We had so many positive responses from guests with regard to the attractiveness of the venue, the service, and the food itself -- we elected for a 3-course plated dinner, and they let us bring our own alcohol for a reasonable corkage fee. I would definitely recommend the YWCA Laniakea for a wedding or other private event! -

We were fortunate to work with Ashley and Dolly of the YWCA. They were so responsive. When Ashley came on board, she was so detail-oriented that it made me so relaxed. I knew after the first few emails that we were in good hands. She was also there on the day-of and made sure that everything went smoothly. The food was great! We were the first one with their new catering company so we were a little worried, but luckily it turned out so well.

There's also the fact that as a non-profit, the proceeds goes toward programs to end sexism and racism. -

I can't begin to say how wonderful the YWCA was for our wedding. The staff were amazing and made our wedding day such a wonderful and stress-free experience. We had a lot of compliments on the location from both locals and people from out of town. We didn't taste the food prior to the wedding, but the food was excellent and got rave reviews from family members who are self-proclaimed "foodies." We were able to do a lot within out budget, and the staff were very much willing to be flexible and do what they could to meet all that we wanted.I can't begin to say how wonderful the YWCA was for our wedding.
