Our Wedding, June 8th 2019

The staff is incredible. After a problem with our previous venue, the staff at Lake Michigan Hills stepped up and were extremely accommodating. We worked with them to make our dream day a reality. The venue was perfect for our wedding and neither my wife nor I would change a thing. The setting is perfect for an evening wedding, they work well with vendors and they are a hidden jewel that is perfect for the region. We cannot thank them enough!

Absolutely Amazing!

Kari was so accommodating after we lost our original venue, she took us under her wings and helped us every single step of the way. From late night emails to being able to stop in any time. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our wedding reception was because of her and her staff.

Excellent Venue and Reasonable Price

Kari was awesome to work with from the initial planning through the last hour of our reception. The food was fantastic. The DJ and Bakery were able to get in early to set up with no obstacles. Our guests loved the scenery of the golf course from the patio. Everything was smooth and perfect with zero last minute issues for the bride and groom to worry about. Well done Kari!

Incredible wedding!

Kari and the entire staff were nothing less then amazing! Kari is extremely knowledgeable about LMH and was quick to offer suggestions, recommendations and helped us when we were stuck things we weren't sure of. They were very accommodating and flexible. We were more than pleased with the food/service/setup. The room looked incredible and our guests kept telling us how much they loved it! When our wagon arrived with the flowers on it, it was still needing some extra work. Kari stopped what she was doing and went right to it so I didn't have to stress about it. She goes above and beyond. Thank you so much Kari and staff for making our day relaxing, inviting, fun and pleasant!

We could not be happier with our choice of this venue for our son's rehearsal lunch on 5/26/18!! It was the perfect setting for a nice, quiet intimate lunch with both sides of the family and the wedding party with their families. The food was excellent! The roasted top sirloin was oh so good! The food was served promptly and it was beautiful and at perfect temps. Our guests had plenty to eat and went back for seconds, maybe thirds. It was a hot weekend and we were thankful for the nicely air conditioned facility. The staff was polite and beyond helpful! They made us feel right at home but even better! We worked with Kari Stevens to set everything up and we knew immediately, even from being so far away that we were in good hands. It is not easy to plan a luncheon of this importance from the other side of the state, but Kari guided us in all of the right directions. She even recommended a local bakery (Bob's Farm Market) for homemade pies which were a complete hit and wonderful ending to a perfect meal. Our son was married at the Mill Creek Wilde Barn and Lake Michigan Hills is only a 17 minute drive, which was just right with beautiful country along the way. We were thankful to have found Kari and Lake Michigan Hills for our destination wedding but are now wishing they were closer so that we could have their wonderful food and see their happy faces as much as we would like! 5 stars from us for sure!!!!

I would recommend Lake Michigan Hills Golf Club to everyone! Kari and the rest of the staff here are amazing and so friendly! They go above and beyond to make sure that everything is perfect for your big day. I was so happy with how smooth everything went the day of our wedding. I emailed Kari maybe 2 days before the wedding and told her I needed a vegan option for one of our guests and her and the chef made it happen! Our guest was very pleased with her meal as were the rest of our wedding guests! The chef and kitchen staff do an amazing job with the food! Everything was delicious! My husband and I are very happy with how the evening went!!!!

WOW! The best venue I've ever used for an event. Kari and her staff were great! I'm completely speechless at the service my family and I received. Great Food. Awesome service from the very first meeting with Kari until we left for the evening of our dinner. We're beyond happy and grateful.

Kari and the entire LMH staff were outstanding from the beginning stages of planning through the big wedding reception. I would highly suggest this venue for a wedding reception. Not only was the service impeccable, but the grounds were amazing for photos as well. The food was amazing as well, we had several compliments. Overall I'd give this place a superior rating.

The team at Lake Michigan Hills helped with everything we asked. Very easy to work with and the day of the event, let the mother of the bride enjoy the day and not be a "party planner". The event was exactly what the bride dreamed of for her wedding. The opportunity for outdoor pictures was amazing, many chooses of backgrounds.

When we were looking for a venue for our wedding we heard how amazing Lake Michigan Hills was. When we met with Kari she was absolutely awesome. She was there to help every step of the way. Her staff were on top of their service and was very impressed. She went above and beyond what we asked for and our day would have not been perfect without her. Any event that we have again we will be definitely be using Kari and Lake Michigan Hills.

Kari and her staff at Lake Michigan Hills was amazing. They were right on schedule with everything throughout the night. The venue was perfect just what we wanted. Kari was wonderful to work with through the planning process especially but the whole event. Our reception went perfectly. Could not have asked for a better catering staff. The food was delicious. All of our guests keep telling us how amazing the food was compared to other weddings they have been to. I cannot say enough about the staff at Lake Michigan Hills and their professionalism.

We had a gorgeous day at Lake Michigan Hills and the weather was perfect, the venue suited all of our needs and Kari was absolutely brilliant. The only drawback was that the food was nothing special and very average. I would definitely recommend this place to others looking for an affordable and helpful venue.

Kari and her team were a bride and the bride's mother's dream come true. They were so helpful and understanding and made our reception everything we dreamed it would be. I highly recommend them. The venue was beautiful too.

I loved this place. We had our ceremony outside and reception inside and it was absolutely beautiful. Kari was amazing to work with. She knew exactly what we wanted for our wedding. The staff was very professional too. I highly recommend this place.

We had our mother's 75th birthday party at LMH. It went off without a hitch! Kari Stevens will insure that you have no worries when it comes to your event. She and her staff are the most attentive and pleasant people that I have worked with in a very long time. My sister and I will definitely recommend LMH to all of our friends!

LOVE Lake Michigan Hills! I had my junior prom there and remember it being so pretty, when I became engaged there was no question about looking at this place for our wedding. Kari is awesome, it was very easy to communicate with her whenever and wherever! Everyone at our wedding loved the food and we were married on the green overlooking the golf course so they all loved the view too!! Definitely recommend this place!!!

They were very accommodating for everything that we needed and helped with all the details. We will definitely recommend them to couples who are getting married and looking for a great venue. We held our daughter's wedding reception at Lake Michigan Hills Golf Club. Words cannot fully express our gratitude for the amazing job that Kari Stevens and her staff did to make the day a truly memorable and treasured celebration! When I walked into the decorated room, it was just so beautiful that tears came to my eyes! It was everything that I wanted for my daughter's wedding reception and more! Kari met with us multiple times; was responsive immediately via e-mail and was very patient with all of our requests. She went above and beyond to make sure that it was just perfect! The food was fabulous! We had so many compliments from our guests on how delicious the food was! And we had late night pizza which was so nice. All the little touches were there. Kari's attention to detail is outstanding! I just can't say enough about how grateful we are to Kari and her staff! I HIGHLY recommend them!!

The cost per person was so well worth it? Karri thought of everything and helped give me one of the happiest days of my life. When I have another wedding in the family I will definitely choose LMHG. We live in Chicago and used the beautiful Lake Michigan Hills Golf Club for a destination wedding, since half our guests live in Illinois and the other half in Michigan. Therefore, we had to plan the entire wedding via Internet and email. Kari, the event coordinator, was very easy to work with and professional. She easily answered all of my questions and responded to emails quickly. She was also an excellent resource for vendors available in the area, making planning from a distance much easier. On wedding day, she ran the event very smoothly and kept everything on track with very little help from me. She is a God-send!
The golf club staff was also very helpful and friendly! Any time I had a question, someone was always ready and willing to help. The service on the day of the wedding was on-point and efficient. I could not have asked for a better day!!

I was pleasantly surprised by the guidance and professionalism of Kari Stevens , the event coordinator . She helped me plan an event( rehearsal dinner) that was not in my comfort zone. I do not live in the area so I needed help with florists, linens and deserts, set up, menus and bar recommendations. She was so pleasant to work with and so very helpful with vendors. I could not have done it without her !
In addition, the food was fabulous! We didn't have time to have a tasting but the cook, Lori guided me in making great decisions for s buffet dinner. The bartenders were professional and worked hard to serve the 145 guests promptly.

Kari (the event coordinator and manager of Lake Michigan Hills)was extremely helpful with planning for my daughter's wedding day and also took charge the day of the wedding to make sure everything ran smoothly.

We toured several reception venues as we planned our wedding. We loved LMH as soon as we arrived. Their venue is spacious, clean, and their staff is professional. We really loved working with Kari Stevens. She was easily accessible via email and was happy to meet too when I had questions or concerns.
We attended a wedding at another venue in the summer and several things went wrong. I made a list of concerns and brought them to Kari. She assured me that I had nothing to worry about and everything went just as we planned.
Our food was fantastic, the bar service was top notch and the updated restrooms were spacious, clean and well located.
Kari and her staff really go above and beyond to make weddings special and stress free for brides and their families.

We could not have chosen a better venue for the wedding. Kari the wedding coordinator goes above and beyond to make the bride and family happy. The food was GREAT. The photographer who stated she does approximately 60 weddings a year said this was in the top two of best food of all weddings she has done and the price was reasonable. The landscaping was beautiful for the outdoor wedding. I would highly recommend Lake Michigan Hills Golf Course to any bride, you can't go wrong with this venue. SOOOO Happy we found it.

My husband and I got married on August 15th. We have nothing but good to say about kari and her staff at Lake Michigan golf course! They helped us have to most beautiful and flawless wedding! We would absolutely recommend them to anyone. And the food was amazing!

My Wife and I had our wedding reception at Lake Michigan Hills Golf Club on July 11, 2015, The entire staff was wonderful, They were always wanting to help and ask what they could do to make our day special. From the servers to the bartender always responded very quickly to our needs.

The chef was excellent, the food was more then we could have asked for, The beef sirloin was amazing, we are still getting compliments on how wonderful the food was.

The event coordinator, Kari was very helpful, she was so flexible with everything from letting us set up the day before, to letting us arrange the tables how we wanted. She is very knowledgeable with answers to all our questions. My wife and I could not have asked for a better venue to host our reception.

Thank you again to Kari and the entire Lake Michigan Hills Golf Club staff, for making our day a special and memorable event.

The wedding reception of my son & daughter-in-law was recently held at Lake Michigan Hills.
They chose a buffet dinner which included the Top Beef Sirloin - absolutely delicious, a Grilled Chicken dish, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Green Bean Almondine, Traverse City Salad - and all were big hits. The dinner was top notch and we received many complements on the food (Chef Lori did an outstanding job) and the location. The Bar area is convenient and the bartenders were professional and personable. The recently updated restrooms are very nice and add to the guests comfort. We were very pleased with the service and attention to detail provided by Kari & all the staff. Along with the beautiful views and relaxing atmosphere this is a venue I would certainly recommend to anyone planning a wedding reception or other event to consider.

We held our daughter's wedding reception at this venue. It was wonderful. The setting is beautiful. Kari Stevens and the staff were pleasant, professional and helpful. The remodeled facilities are clean and inviting. It has new bathrooms and an added bride's lounge. We opted for the basic dinner buffet, and all our food choices by the new chef were delicious. I would use this venue again without any hesitation.

Wonderful venue for my wedding! Everything was done and set up for me, except for my own decorations, and the staff was great on the big day with taking care of everything down to the last little detail. I had no worries at all! Also, the food they catered was delicious!

I absolutely LOVED working with Kari! She was the biggest help when it came to planning my wedding. I was planning a "destination" wedding I love 4 hours away and had minimal knowledge of the area. Kari was my saving grace! The golf club was beautiful all of the staff was very friendly and knowledgable. I had a great time. The food was absolutely amazing and I still keep getting compliments on how great the food was. I highly recommend this venue to anyone that is looking for a great place to have a reception. Also, the golf course is a great place for pictures.

Kari and the staff at Lake Michigan hills went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect! Everything was organized and flowed throughout the night! Food was great! We got so many complements on the apple Brie chicken! All and all a great Experiance working with them!

I absolutely loved my experience with Kari and Lake Michigan Hills. Their prices are good, the value is great the food is wonderful and the service you get is amazing. I even changed my wedding date and it was no problem. If I ever need to hold another large event, there's no question of who I'd use....Kari and Lake Michigan Hills are awesome. You can't go wrong!

We are so happy we chose Lake Michigan Hills. I was most astonished by the helpfulness and flexibility of Kari, the event coordinator. I worried that they would be picky about little things (e.g., playing lawn games on the grass, getting the tablecloths dirty with a diy favor table, last minute changes in number of guests and the menu, etc.), but they were totally fine with everything. On the note of changes in the guests and menu, I always felt that LMH was trying to be fair in their business practices, definitely not out to get more money from me.

I was able to decorate the day before in the reception hall but not in the lounge (because they had an outing), so Kari actually asked me to explain the lounge decorations and she set the entire thing up herself on the morning of the wedding. This included a photo booth, crafting favor table, guest book table with flowers and frames, and the gift table. Every time I realized I had forgotten something, like a lighter to light my hundreds of candles, Kari stepped in. In that case, she said they always make sure the candles are lit so we don't have to worry about it.

The reception hall itself is newly renovated. The champagne tones went perfectly with our colors, and I think they would with many color schemes. All the lamps are new and there are nice branchy decorations.

LMH requires that you use their food, so you can't bring in an outside caterer. The food is good, but it's not what I would consider fancy or gourmet. I think people enjoyed the dinner, but probably won't remember it as one of the best parts of the night. This wasn't a big deal to me, because super fancy food wasn't something I was concerned with, and as I mentioned, it was good. Also, although they don't allow outside caterers, they were very understanding and careful in working with me to accommodate guests with allergies.

Overall, I would definitely recommend LMH for a wedding. It is a stress-free option.

This place has a beautiful view overlooking the golf course. You can go outside if you would like or stay in the air conditioned room (which was perfect after a beach wedding!). They were very good about letting us bring our own decorations. No hanging things on the wall but we could easily hang things from the ceiling. They were very friendly and helpful. Answered emails and phone calls promptly! They really had wonderful servers during my wedding and took care of all our guests the entire night. I would definitely recommend them to anyone! :)

I was SO happy I went with Lake Michigan Hills Golf Club as my ceremony and reception site. Everything went perfectly. Kari was wonderful to work with. She answered all my questions very quickly and had great advice to share. The staff in general is wonderful. Kari was in a wedding so she wasn't able to be there the day of but I had a lady named Ronda who did a fabulous job. She came to my rehearsal to make sure everything went well there. The rehearsal dinner was fantastic too the waitress did awesome with my group of 20! I have absolutely no regrets about having my wedding at LMH. You do have to use in house catering and alcohol services. The guy in charge of the golf shop made sure no golf carts were anywhere even remotely near my ceremony and that the golf carts were not being moved and beeping during the ceremony.
The ONLY thing that didn't go as planned was the food. There was a mess up and things were left out, I was disappointed, but not enough to ruin how I feel about this wonderful venue. This was only for the main courses, the side dishes were REALLY good.
I notified them about the issue and they assured me they took it very seriously. I'm confident it won't happen to anyone else.

Welcoming Fall

My husband and I are in our early 20’s and wanted to keep the price of our wedding as reasonable as possible all while still having our day be perfect and exactly what we wanted and Lake Michigan Hills helped us do exactly that. We had our ceremony along with our reception at Lake Michigan Hills and they were both absolutely beautiful. The view from the ceremony spot is perfect and there are a lot of great spots for pictures, especially once the sun starts to set, you just can’t beat the view! The food at the reception was fantastic and got a lot of compliments from our guest! We had about 175 guest and there was plenty of room throughout the banquet hall and dance floor which is really nice. The staff was very friendly. They do majority of the setting up, other than decorations you bring, along with clean up which is super helpful on such a busy day. I am so thankful for everything Kari did for my husband and I over the 10 months of wedding planning! I sent many questions her way and I never waited long for a friendly, helpful response, she’s awesome! Overall my experience with Lake Michigan Hills was really great!

Lake Michigan Hills is a beautiful venue for any event--especially weddings! They have beautiful views just outside the reception hall and wonderful staff! Made the whole wedding process a breeze for us!

I thought that this venue was overall pretty amazing. There were a few things I could have changed like the doors to my recpetion not opening on time. Food was delicious and a huge hit with guests. Staff was very very friendly and accommodating.

The Staff was amazing and extremely helpful. My wedding reception was beautiful and the food they provided was delicious, hot and served in large amounts.
