What an absolute dream come true to have our wedding at lake and wood. The most beautiful magical day and wedding i have ever been too and it was MY OWN WEDDING. We had a very small intimate wedding of 25 people, and man was it perfect. Lake and wood and the whole crew was amazing to work with. I would not change a single thing about my wedding and lake and wood made that happen.
Thank you thank you thank you. I would absolutely recommend Lake and Wood for your dream wedding. -

If you are looking for a venue that can basically be the star of the show so you don’t have to spend a ton of money on decorations, florals, etc., this is your venue!
I found this venue by searching for mountain venues and instantly fell in love just from the photos. My husband and I took a tour and knew right away that this was the place we wanted to say “I do.”
All of our guests kept asking us how we found a place like this because it truly is a hidden gem in Placerville. The property is absolutely beautiful. Bonus, the guys got to go fishing in the lake in the morning.
For everything you get for the price, I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful, unique, and unforgettable wedding location!
Another bonus, they even gave us these cute tumblers with the name and map of Placerville on them as a wedding gift! -

This venue and their team are pure magic.
I can't say enough good things about The Lake at Apple Hill. Planning a wedding these days is so overwhelming and once we found this venue, everything fell into place. This place is a hidden gem. Between the value, the open vendor policy, the included coordination team (which let me tell you is priceless), and the overall look and vibe of the property, look no further than this venue. Everyone at our wedding could not stop talking about how incredible the views were and how on top of everything our team was. Our wedding day did not go according to plan, between it raining and being an hour behind schedule our day could have easily been defined by these hiccups, but the rain only made the venue more magical, and our coordination team rallied to pivot on timeline and to work around the rain. They were constantly shifting decorations to make the most out of every detail we picked out, and I could not have been more grateful. Our wedding was magical because of the Lake at Apple Hill and our Courtney Lawhon Events coordinators, full stop. Do yourself a favor and see this property and book them for your wedding. The drive to the location and getting ready off site is worth it. -

What more could you want in a wedding venue?!
From a photographer's perspective, The Lake at Apple Hill has it all! Lush evergreens and a beautiful (clean) lake make for the backdrop of this gorgeous venue. Every time we come back, we find new perspectives and ways to showcase all that the property has to offer, which really helps fuel our creativity. We can't wait to be back for the next wedding!

My only complaint is that you are required to have the month of coordinator. I personally did not have the best experience with them and it’s super frustrating considering they are almost half the price of the venue. If the venue was separate I would have absolutely no complaints the venue is stunning!! -

A Truly Magical Place
This is the perfect spot if you are looking for a beautiful outdoors, woodsy venue! We wanted to have our wedding in a place with truly natural beauty, that wouldn't take copious amounts of decorations or lighting to be magical. This was exactly that. The lake was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony, and our wedding pictures turned out stunning. There was plenty of space for our 100 person guest list, with unique areas for us to set up separate spaces for drinks, dinner, lawn games, and dancing. The dance floor was perfect and everyone danced the night away. We got so many compliments on our venue choice! We were worried about a massive heat wave and the Janet helped us think through all of the options, and answered all our questions throughout the process. She was helpful and patient and we couldn't be happier with our choice. -

This was the first venue my fiancé and I had toured and we instantly fell in love! The lush greenery and trees, in addition to the lake created the perfect vibe we envisioned. The owners happed to be at the venue during our tour and they were the sweetest people. I just had my wedding on 9/10/22 and let me just say, it was the most amazing day!! The coordination team here is impeccable! They made my day 10000% stress free. In addition, they are super helpful and prompt when answering any questions I had. All of our guests raved about the beauty of this venue and the coordination team. If you’re deciding whether you want to book this venue, DO IT!! -

One word - dreamy!!!!!
The lake at Apple Hill is an absolute dream. The owners & their partnership with CLE is a match made in heaven. My husband and I are so thankful for the accommodations this team made to allow us to first visit the venue at last minute, to send us various details throughout the planning process, and support us while planning a destination wedding. The lake at Apple hill gives you all the romantic, pine tree, notebook vibes all in one. We got to dance under the trees and stars, enjoy privacy with our guests due to the secrecy and exclusivity of the venue. The lake at Apple hill is such a great value & allows the couple to bring their vision to life. The lake allows you to utilize vendors that meet their criteria while also meet your individual and personal needs for your special day. Trust me when I say it’s worth it to use their recommended vendors to have the piece of mind that everything will go smoothly. This venue also has such beautiful sites & opportunities to further celebrate with your guests throughout your wedding weekend. Including downtown Placerville, apple hill, several breweries or wineries, Tahoe just an hour away & then bigger department stores just 30 min to an hour away for all your last minute needs! If you and your fiancé are wanting an intimate wedding, a big wedding, a covered reception, an uncovered reception, a beautiful backdrop for your ceremony & romantic shots, an absolutely dreamy first dance spot or all of the above book the lake, you won’t regret it!!!!! -

My husband and I recently had our wedding celebration at The Lake at Apple Hill. It was amazing and beautiful and everything I dreamed of!
For the venue portion of our wedding, we communicated with Janet who works at The Lake, and she was so great! She was kind and friendly, and responded to all of our emails and questions in a timely manner.
We had an accident during the set up of our wedding (really close to when guests were arriving)... the main water line was hit by a vehicle, so the water was off and bathrooms were not working. Someone from the venue (possibly the owner?) showed up IMMEDIATELY to fix and resolve the issue. By the time the ceremony was over, everything was fixed and bathrooms working which was so great for the rest of the evening.
We were very well taken care of by the venue and our vendor team. We received so many compliments from guests for how beautiful the location was, and how it was such a hidden gem.
The venue is STUNNING, peaceful and naturally beautiful. The lake, trees, fire pit areas, the market lighting, landscaping... all the little details help to make this location magical. The team at The Lake do such a great job at keeping the space clean, are continuing to add and improve the venue which is so great for future couples.
We could not have found a more beautiful location for our special day!! -

Perfect Outdoor Wedding Venue
The Lake at Apple Hill was the most perfect wedding venue. We loved the mixture or woods and water and we appreciated how ceremony and reception spaces all flowed together as one. Our guests and us had a great time and we kept getting compliments on our venue. We would get married here all over again! -

Absolutely Amazing!
When looking for venues, I always knew we'd get married in the woods. The calming and peaceful serenity of the Lake took the part! The Lake is stunning! Absolutely breathtaking! Worth having any special memory here. Our wedding was amazing! So grateful to have the opportunity to get married here. So happy they are dog friendly too! Everyone working at the Lake, Janet and the CLE team were so nice and helpful with any question we needed answered. Definitely worth every penny! -

Easy, flexible, professional, prompt
Me and my husband just got married on March 12th, 2022 and Apple Hill/ CLE was an absolute breeze to work with. They were very organized, thorough, and so helpful. They made the entire wedding planning process extremely easy for me and they displayed everything exactly as I imagined. We had sooo many compliments from our guests on the ceremony, the venue, the decor, and the setting in general. I did not hear a single negative criticism from my guests about out entire wedding and that makes me feel so fulfilled and proud. I highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants that gorgeous outdoor forresty wedding. It’s elegant with the perfect touch of rugged that we were going for, and all at a really affordable price. -

Gorgeous Venue
The Lake at Apple Hill was the perfect venue for my wedding. I got married in May of 2021 and was originally booked at a different venue that sadly closed due to COVID. It ended up working out for the best because I happened upon this gem when they were just getting up and running and happened to have my exact date available as they had just began booking weddings! The venue is breathtaking with views of the lake, gorgeous landscaping, and the perfect canvas to build your wedding your way! All of my quests could not stop telling me how gorgeous the venue was! I loved that I was able to have all of my own vendors, and was able to purchase the alcohol for my event (as long as you get a licensed bartender). I was even allowed to have my pup in my wedding, which was huge for me and my husband!
The site owners were very amenable to my requests and last minute needs due to unexpected cooler weather. They were very kind and followed up with us after the wedding to make sure we had a great experience. Would recommend 100%. Also the coordinator they have for their site, Courtney, was the most amazing blessing to my wedding that I didn't know I needed at first, but couldn't have survived without!

Incredibly helpful, affordable + stunning venue
The Lake was the first venue my husband and I looked at when we first got engaged. We were looking for an earthy, natural, peaceful environment surrounded by trees to have our wedding. This place was the perfect spot! The venue manager had incredible communication, quick response times, patient with our questions, and so so kind, they were genuinely excited to make our day perfect for us. Alongside the perfect scenery, they’re contracted with an incredible wedding coordinator which is included in the total price. Absolute game changer. Our day was absolutely perfect and it all started with The Lake! -

We absolutely loved our venue! it's truly a unique space and gave the perfect setting for our day. You cant beat overlooking the lake and the space provides great versatility as far as how you set things up. For us, it was just elegant enough to feel fancy, but you are also right in the middle of nature, so your country type guests won't feel out of place ;) Janet and her team were very very helpful, kind, and responsive to our needs which made things so nice. I would recommend The Lake at Apple Hill to anyone who asks. Jesus was so very present this day and He gets all the glory! We want to do it all over again! (without the planning part) -

If you are looking for a uniquely beautiful and customized wedding experience, then you will love love love working with Courtney (Wedding Coordinator) and enjoy a day more perfect than your could have ever imagined. Courtney suggested incredible vendors, offered invaluable support when environmental conditions put the venue availability into question, and created our dream day! Our guests and vendors continue to comment on how beautiful the location was and “can’t believe how smooth” the day went! We highly recommend the The Lake, and wish we could have spent more time there! -

The lake at apple hill is such a beautiful venue, the very first time I toured the venue with my mom a year before I got married it was actually my first venue and it was everything I was looking for, I didn't need to see anymore after that! 6 weeks out to the wedding I met with the coordinating team CLE and everyone was so professional and sweet! I was very happy with how attentive they were leading up to my special day! My wedding was on May 4th 2024 and we were anticipating rain but not snow. Mind you this is an all outdoor venue, My husband and I were not prepared nor did we plan incase it was to snow but our coordinating team did such an amazing job to accommodate us and our guests to make sure everyone was dry and comfortable as possible during our event. We are so grateful for everyone that's part of the CLE team that made our wedding day go so smooth and beautiful I would highly recommend this venue. It's not only gorgeous but the coordinating team(CLE) that works with the venue is AMAZING!!! -

The Lake at Apple hill is a gorgeous venue with a backdrop to die for. We knew it was where we wanted to get married right away. It was woodsy and magical. The weeks leading up to our wedding the weather was beautiful. But low and behold, the week of was a completely different story. I can't tell you the number of times we were told that rain on your wedding was good luck. It sure didn't feel that way with an completely outdoor wedding, but all week we were in contact with our coordinator from Courtney Lawhon Events to come up with contingencies and when the day finally came I'm so glad we were proactive with planning since during our reception the rain started coming down and didn't stop until the party was over. Through it all our team made sure that everything ran smoothly and any last minute changes that needed to be made due to the weather happen seamlessly. The rain definitely didn't stop the party and the vibes were still immaculate. So many of our friends and family have said that our wedding is one for the books and they'll be talking about it for a long, long time. -

This venue is absolutely beautiful!! We had to find a new venue only 4.5 months before our big day due to our previous venue shutting down for covid. There was only 3 venues in the entirety of Sacramento area that had availability on our day, so I chose this one for the amazing scenery and Lake Tahoe like feel. Only wish they didn’t charge so much for what is offered. Also wish they had some sort of accommodation included in the price for a getting ready area, a dance floor with lighting as well would be nice, since our dancing had to be cut short due to it being too dark. The venue also requires you to use approved vendors and doesn’t allow for much of DIY. There was also a brewery or winery close by that was playing live music during my ceremony and you could hear it very clearly, yet the venue put limits on my own DJ’s volume, so my wedding video does have background sound of the live music, which is very disappointing. Also had almost naked people canoeing in the lake prior to the ceremony and I found this highly unprofessional for the price of the venue. Overall, it was still a dream come true day and my husband and I are very happy and have STUNNING photos to prove it ❤️ -
