October Key west Wedding

We got married at Fort Zach in October 2024 and it was absolutely perfect! HIGHLY suggest hiring Taylor Richardson as your full service wedding planner. We were living in Michigan and realized planning destination is not easy. She gave us options for all of the best vendors in the keys! Taylor made everything so simple for us and perfect! Down to every last detail, I couldn’t ask for a better day. Our guest raved about how beautiful the fort was for our cocktail hour and reception. Couldn’t ask for anything more perfect!! Thank you Taylor and thank you fort Zach so much!

A fairytale

This wedding venue dream come true. The ceremony on the beach was breathtakingly set up. The reception in the fortress was so beyond cool and looked gorgeous all set up. The cocktail hour on top of the fort for sunset was incredible. Working with taylor as my month of coordinator was amazing she was so communicative, her timelines were impeccable and she took care of my every need and dream and took care of us throughout the night.

Perfect venue for the Best. Day. Ever.

We LOVED the venue, the beachfront and the fort.

The cocktail hour on the rooftop was a perfect location to enjoy a Key West Sunset! Taylor and Kirsten were super easy to work with - I recommend the Month of Coordinator to assist with planning.

I also recommend the golf cart add on for running guests to the restroom. Our 3 day event in Key West ended with the most awesome ceremony on the beach and reception in the Fort! Loved this venue and working with Taylor!

The most perfect day ever

We toured a few places that could hold 100+ guests. Fort Zachary was the first venue we toured, and we left saying “This is going to be hard to beat”. We knew we wanted the sunset as the backdrop and being directly on the beach was an added plus. We were worried about all the spectators being around, but when we were in the moment, it was just us, our families, and friends. It was the absolute perfect spot for us to exchange our vows.
Fort Zach offers a variety of planner options. Since we are out of state, we opted for the Full Service option.Kirsten was so fun to work with! She grasped my vision and ran with it. I was stunned with the design board she created for us months before the wedding, and I can’t believe how she turned that vision into a real-life masterpiece. Myself, my husband, and our guests were blown away when we walked up to our beach reception. The completed tiki hut also added to the atmosphere. She helped keep us organized while we were planning a wedding out of state, which we were thankful for.
The weather was perfect. The sunset was the most beautiful sunset we had ever seen that night (and we visit Key West often). Our vendors were all amazing. We wish could live the night over again!

Kirsten and the rest of the FT Zach team are amazing to work with. We were provided exactly what we requested and more. Besides being a wonderful person, she is VERY good at what she does and we felt treated as though we were her only clients. Beach Wedding of my DREAMS!

My husband & I got married in January 2024 at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. After a very long engagement, we decided to be adventurous with our wedding plans by inviting our closest friends & family on a cruise. The first stop was in Key West, FL and we decided that everyone's "activity" for the day would be our wedding & reception! Because we had limited time in Key West, I needed to find a flexible venue for both ceremony & reception, easily accessible from the port, affordable, and most importantly... beautiful. Fort Zachary Taylor was the perfect spot!

While I didn't see the venue/park before the wedding, I got a good sense of it based on online materials and from information shared by Kirsten & her team. I requested wedding planning services from Kirsten, and it was the best decision I made during the wedding planning process. She was always available to talk, directed me to the best vendors, and more. She helped put my mind at ease, and made sure that I was thinking about all of the details (for myself, my husband & my guests)!

The day of the wedding was perfect. Not only was the beach BEAUTIFUL, but so was the entire setup that I had been planning for months. Everything came together just as I had imagined it. Even my guests were blown away by how nice everything was. The weather was perfect, the details were well executed, and Kirsten ensured we were on schedule the entire time (which was very helpful).

All of this to say, I highly recommend Fort Zachary Taylor (& Kirsten) if you're looking to have a wedding on the beach in Key West, FL!

Dream come true

Fort Zachary was a dream come true! Our wedding planner Kirsten was absolutely incredible. A fairy Godmother who made our wedding more beautiful than we even imagined. We were a little nervous planning a wedding from PA. Kirsten was there for us through every decision which made me feel comfortable and not stressed while planning. When our wedding weekend arrived we finally met face to face after all our conversations it felt like meeting up with a best friend. Starting with our night before party, to the wedding, to a sandbar boat trip the day after Kirsten pulled it all off with perfection. We truly could have never pulled this off without her by our side. A million thank yous would never be enough for making our wedding weekend absolute perfection!

Absolutely incredible

We were planning a destination wedding and had no idea what we were doing. I contacted Fort Zach and they contacted me within a day. Kirstin reached out to me and we started the planning process. I will say, there is no way I could have done it without her. If you are thinking about hiring a planner, hire her. She is incredible. For example, the day of my wedding was pretty windy, minutes before I was going to walk down the aisle, she noticed my hair was down, she rearranged the wedding party so that the wind wouldn’t blow my hair in my face the entire time. It was such a subtle adjustment but it made such a difference. All of her recommendations were spot on. The only regret I have is that I didn’t let her plan my reception as well (we had our reception somewhere else). Our wedding was absolutely perfect and I owe most of that to her and the staff at Fort Zach. I will recommend them to anyone and everyone, it was the best day of our lives.

Amazing Venue + Planning!

We loved having our wedding here. We had our ceremony at the point, cocktail hour on top of the fort and our reception in the fort. The venue is unique and beautiful and we loved having everything to ourselves after sunset. We also used them for full service planning and truly cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed working with Taylor. She not only planned our wedding, but also our rehearsal dinner and welcome party. She was incredibly organized and patient and helped us think through so many details for the day that we would have never considered but ended up coming together to make the perfect weekend for both us and our guests. The weekend of our wedding knowing that Taylor and Kirsten were taking care of all the details for our welcome party, rehearsal dinner and wedding allowed my husband and I to be fully present and just enjoy the weekend with our friends and family. We have had so many guests mention how well planned and executed our wedding was and this is truly all due to them.

Significantly exceeded my expectation!

Fort Zachary is a phenomenal wedding venue it was like getting 3 different venues in one! We decided to go with beach for our ceremony, The top of the fortress at sunset for cocktail hour and inside the fortress for plated family style sit down dinner. Not only were the views amazing from being on the beach enjoying water but wow Key West sunsets are phenomenal!

Besides the absolutely gorgeous venue, one of the benefits of getting married at Fort Zachary is being able to work/hire Kirsten! She is phenomenal with the details leading up to the day. She works with the different vendor, gives excellent recommendations, ensures your vision comes to life perfectly, day of coordination, wedding schedule anything and everything so it will be a stress-free memorable day! I could NEVER think about doing this without her and will be forever grateful for her expertise.

Overall we would give Fort Zachary a 10 out of 10! If you were looking for a Key West destination wedding look no further!

Incredible!

Kirsten helped us plan the best day of our lives! She went above and beyond and thought of absolutely everything. This was a destination wedding for us, so having her there to take our worries away from afar meant the world to us. We had both our ceremony and reception on site and couldn’t recommend beautiful Fort Zachary and Kirsten more! If you’re going back and forth- don’t, this is it!

Awesome wedding planner

We saw the venue end of March beginning of April of 2021 and decided it was the perfect venue! We decided Nov 5, 2021 would be our wedding date, so essentially we only had 7 months to plan a wedding. Kirsten helped us pick the right DJ, cake options, food catering company (even though we had already loved and picked catered affairs before the tasting).

Kirsten was thorough and was there day and night with all of our questions. I had a budget and Kirsten managed to keep that budget below 20k and for that I am grateful.

A Dream Come True

I cannot say enough about Fort Zachary Taylor State Park as our venue and Kirsten as our wedding planner. After planning and waiting for our dream wedding on April 4, 2020, we were postponed due to Covid-19 only 3 weeks prior to our wedding date. Kirsten was quick to help us find a postponement date, coordinate with the rest of my vendors, and get everything moved over to the new date without charging us a single fee. Furthermore, even though I only hired Kirsten for a "Day of" planner, she continue to check on me throughout the quarantine, and answered all of questions throughout the 4 month postponement and helped me to change my reception venue to the fortress (since now we were in Sea Turtle season) guiding me with rental suggestions along the way.

4 Days before our new wedding date, our wedding was threatened with Hurricane Isaias... Kirsten kept me calm, while quietly researching alternative venues for us in the event we needed a "Plan C;" A direct hurricane hit. Ultimately my husband and I decided we weren't ready to give up the dream and held steady for Fort Zach praying for the best. Kirsten stood by us the entire way.

Fast forward to the event and we could not have asked for better weather or a more perfect day. Everything went off without a hitch!

We had a gorgeous beach ceremony at the point, followed by cocktail hour on the wall of the fortress watching the sunset with our guests. The reception was in the fortress. Everything was absolutely stunning from start to finish. Kirsten coordinated with the vendors to bring my vision to life and I could not have imagined a more stunning, perfect, and amazing wedding. It truly was a dream come true and far surpassed all of my expectations. All of the guests are still talking about how perfect the entire event was from décor, to food, to entertainment, and even more amazed that I was able to fully pull off an event that was so magical from afar, sight unseen.

If you are considering Fort Zachary Taylor for your wedding, DO NOT HESITATE! You will NOT be disappointed!

Dream wedding venue

This place is a dream. The kind of setting you dream about. We had our whole beautiful wedding planned for here, but had to cancel 5 days in advance due to the CO-VID outbreak in the U.S. It was devastating to cancel our dream wedding, but thankfully Kirsten and the team made it easy with no questions asked. They were understanding that we were in a global pandemic and fully refunded. Thank you all, I hope to be able to host an event at this gorgeous time in the future.

The PERFECT wedding!!!!

We had our wedding and reception at Fort Zachary and could not be happier!!!! It was absolutely perfect...Kirsten Corpion is just the most amazing wedding coordinator ever!!!! I seriously could not have asked for a better day. Solaris photography and videographer were awesome!! Rev Liz Weinstein was the best!!! I could go on and on.. The staff is the best and so attentive. I wish I could relive the day.

Dream Wedding

Unbelievable experience. Working with their planner Kirsten was so easy, she was always willing to help, gave great advice, and became a friend through it all. Coming from 1800 miles away, there’s no way I could have done this alone. I had full trust in the vendors, and they delivered above and beyond. The ceremony looked like something out of a fantasy, the reception was unbelievable, the staff were phenomenal. I am still getting compliments and several “that was the best and most beautiful wedding I’ve ever been to”. I wish I could repeat the night 1000 times over.

Wedding and Reception Fort Zach April 2019

We had our wedding and reception at Fort Zach in April. It was absolutely an amazing experience! We planned our wedding from miles away in Indiana through phone and email conversation with Kirsten, the special event director and our wedding coordinator. She was so responsive and experienced with all local vendors which put our minds at ease (especially since we had not been to Key West before!). We really felt taken care of with her as our coordinator and this feeling allowed us to relax and enjoy our wedding day to the fullest. I was beyond impressed with how beautiful the beach cafe was when decorated with string lighting and our tables. We remember sitting at our sweetheart table during dinner and just looking out at all of our guests having a great time. This solidified how happy we were to have picked Fort Zach and Kirsten for our wedding and reception venue! We cannot thank them enough!

A Key West Wedding at its best authentic self.

Having met while living in Key West, it was so important to my husband and I to give our visiting family and friends an authentic experience of the island over our wedding weekend. Despite being encouraged to consider hotels, I wanted a venue that would comfortable fit our 200 guests and provide a true Keys experience. The obvious choice was Fort Zach! If you're not from Key West and reading this- there are hotels in your hometown with indoor conference centers. If you are getting married in Key West- spring for one of the island's unique venues- Fort Zach, Hemingway Home, Truman Little White House, the Audubon House, or West Martello Tower. Of those historic properties- there's only one with a beach, sunset, and gorgeous fortress- plus you can customize your food menu and brining in whatever decor you want. Kirsten and her team are amazing! She went above and beyond when our wedding planner dumped us last minute and left me in a lurch 3 weeks out. Not only did she ease my stress but she put me in touch with the right people for the job and took my calls while she was on vacation. She went above and beyond! As a result, our wedding was gorgeous, fun, and seriously the best weekend/ night of my life!

Words can't describe how beautiful our wedding turned out and how great the staff was at Fort Zachary. Kirsten is organized, responsive, and incredibly valuable resource for all things wedding related. She helped keep everything calm and happy in what can be stressful situations, especially when planning a wedding from miles away. I feel incredibly lucky we were able to get married at the Fort and for the incredible experience the staff provided for our day.

Wouldn't change a thing!

R2/The Point @ FZT was a great spot and exactly what we envisioned for our May 6, 2019 private sunset elopement. Since it was short notice (3 weeks) and we were traveling from NH we hired Kirsten Corpion as our planner too. Beautiful R2 site

Our wedding was May 17 at site R2. Kirsten our coordinator was absolutely amazing to work with. Step by step she sent me vendor choices to pick which made the process stress free and fun. Our wedding day Kirsten made me feel at ease and like I had a friend guiding me through the process. Our site was roped off from other sunset patrons and beach goers. The R2 site at sunset was gorgeous and had the famous schooner boats parading In the background. I tried another coordinator prior to Kirsten that failed to inform me about certain festivals going on in key west, and I’m very glad I switched or else my wedding could have been during an unfavorable festivities. I definitely recommend fort Zachary Taylor and Kirsten as your wedding coordinator 🥰

Kristen Corpion was wonderful from the very beginning when we booked our date and just continued to escalate her awesomeness up to the moment of the ceremony!!!! The best venue hands down in Key West!!!

This venue was the most magical venue we could have ever had for our destination wedding! We got married at the Basilica of Saint Mary Star of the Sea and had the reception inside the fortress. I've gotta say, I was always hesitant to have an outdoor reception because I never trust the weather....it is part of the reason we chose the Fort, because we could at least have some partial cover in the event it rained. But, I'm happy to say it didn't, and that we had the MOST AMAZING sunset ever with the PERFECT VIEWS from the Fort!!! This place has historic charm and stunning sunsets! People are still talking about how awesome this venue was, it was that amazing! Kirsten and her team are absolutely awesome, so easy to work with, and they made our special day truly wonderful! We wouldn't have changed a thing :)

Perfect day

We just got married 3/3/19 at Fort Zachary Taylor park, and I cannot recommend it strongly enough. We had never been to the park before our rehearsal and planned it from out of state. We opted to utilize their day of planner service, but Kirsten was always responsive to my emails/texts/calls and made everything go so smoothly. We were married at R2 (The Point) and had our reception at the Beach Cafe. The setting was gorgeous, and my parents commented on how great Kirsten was at making everything run well. I wouldn't change a thing, and I cannot recommend Fort Zach and Kirsten highly enough!

Perfect wedding at the beach & fortress!

FZT was our chosen site for our ceremony and reception. We're from NC and we booked our entire wedding from afar...without seeing or meeting anyone in person. Sounds crazy but that's us! This process was guided and made easy by FZT's event coordinator, Kirsten Corpion. She's phenomenal. She knows the in and outs of the wedding business and she knows everyone in Key West. Without her, our wedding planning experience could have been a nightmare. Our ceremony was on the beach and the reception was at the Fortress, both on site at FZT. I cannot speak enough about the beauty and uniqueness of this venue as a whole. Many of our guests told us this was the best wedding they have ever attended! Our wedding day was perfect and everything we imagined and more. If you want a beach wedding in Key West, FZT is the place. I enjoyed the fortress for our reception because it was beautiful and a more formal contrast to the beach. I felt like we had the best of both worlds. 10/10 recommend! Thank you FZT and Kirsten!

The folks at Ft. Zachary Taylor were fabulous for a destination wedding! Kirsten incorporated our ideas with her experiences to result in a memorable event. She kept us on track with the planning and the day of the event was smooth! Not one regret or wish that something else happened. The venue is naturally wonderful and the subtle enhancements make it what you imagine in your dreams for the ultimate wedding adventure. Our friends and family still are speaking about the experience months later.

Our wedding was a dream come true. Everything was perfect. Kirsten helped plan everything down to the smallest detail. The day before the wedding, during the rehearsal, every detail was explained to us so we knew exactly what was going to happen. The day of the wedding went flawlessly. Kirsten was hands down the most incredible wedding coordinator. She was always available to answer our texts and phone calls when we needed help during the planning of our wedding. She helped us choose all of our vendors for the wedding and we were impressed with each and every one of them. Kirsten is a genuine sweetheart and we would choose her over and over again to be our wedding coordinator. All of our guests commented about how pleasant and organized Kirsten was. As for the venue itself.... we are still in awe at the beauty of Fort Zachary Taylor. Kirsten was beyond helpful throughout the entire planning process and the event. If ever we had a question or concern, her responses were quick and helpful. Kirsten and the supporting staff were all very personable which made our family feel welcomed. Our wedding was beautiful, the site was breathtaking, and the the entire experience exceeded our expectations. The sunset ceremony was a fairytale and dream come true. All the staff was very attentive to both us and our guests. All of our family and friends had a great time, and everything just ran smoothly. The Havana menu from Great Events Catering was very very good. Definitely would recommend it.
The DJ from Soundwaves and Mike our photographer were great also. Definitely would recommend them to others.
Our events was enjoyed by all. The weather was great along with service. Sunset amazing. Would highly recommend Fort Zachery Park for an outdoor weddings.

Loved working with Kirsten! She is truly talented and so easy to work with. We planned our wedding from Germany so communication was only through email. SO you would think that would make things difficult but not in the slightest. There were a lot of emails but she always answered quickly. She took care of everything. Seriously everything. The vendors, the set up. All we did was drop off our extra decorations that we wanted to use the day before and Kirsten and her team set everything up perfectly. I was stress free and very relaxed our wedding day because I trusted Kirsten completely. I don't think ANYTHING went wrong...but that's probably because she never let me know =)...which is great. We had our ceremony at the point...what is not to like? The sunset, ocean, and crashing waves behind you while you're saying your vows is just so romantic. It was stunning. We had our reception in the Fort and it was magical. I wish I could live that day over and over again. It was beyond what I could have imagined it to be and so perfect, and that is largely due to Kirsten being so awesome and accommodating!

This truly is Key West's Best Beach. I could not imagine a more picturesque setting and venue for our ceremony. The backdrop created by all the colors during sunset was breathtaking. I strongly recommend a combination of the point and fortress for the ceremony and reception respectively. Our coordinator, Kirsten, did an absolutely amazing job in making our dream a reality. Worth every penny for the full service coordination. We were able to create for our guests a once in a lifetime experience full of joy and beauty. If you are looking to marry in Key West, look no further.

Kirsten at Fort Zachary Taylor was incredible. We booked the Point for our ceremony location and the Fortress for the reception. The ceremony was breathtaking. The lighting, location, and understated elegance were exactly what I envisioned. The Fortress was the perfect reception location for my husband and I, who both love American History. Our guests were wowed by the unique set up. The day before the event, I dropped a few small decorations, table numbers, and hand selected details off with Kirsten and she took care of the rest. She brought my wedding vision to life. I had nothing to worry about on the day of my wedding other than getting on the Key West Trolley! Further, she helped me select vendors and made sure I had everything covered; such as extra lighting and a dance floor. Kirsten was an integral part of what made my day so perfect, and I highly recommend booking the full service wedding coordination.
Kirsten was so thoughtful-- she even had my husband and I's meals packed and sent in a to-go container for us since we did not have time to eat at the reception. Seriously, she's the best.

I cannot begin to express how happy I was with EVERYTHING!!! Kirstin was the best! I booked this destination wedding location, site unseen. We decided to book a last minute trip down a couple months before the wedding and WOW. Venue was amazing and staff were more than accommodating. I think I honestly called Kirstin like once a week (poor thing) and she always took my call or called me/emailed me right back! The patience of a GOD! When we came down for the wedding, she literally thought of everything. I was nervous about missing things or forgetting things I didnt even think of yet; but she had it all figured out before I could even think of it!!!! The day of the wedding we had rain but I gave her control of the decision on whether to move the reception to the fort or keep at the beach, she advised to move to the fort and it was even better than I thought it would be! I dont think I can say enough about her and her staff. PERFECTION!!!! Worth every penny and would do it all again, with no changes (except I would try to be on time, haha)

The big day is almost here and I could not be happier to have found this venue. We're only having the ceremony there, but they offer everything! It's been a smooth process so far. Definitely do not try to handle everything on your own. Their wedding planner is so helpful and it's worth it.

Our big day was absolutely perfect. I don't think I stopped smiling the entire time. Choosing Fort Taylor was easy; it's beautiful, historic, romantic, unique, and the list goes on. Also, it's a locals hotspot so you get kudos from the locals when you tell them where you were married ;) But working with Kirsten Corpion was the best thing we could've done. She took a beautiful beach and transformed it into what dreams are made of. I look at our photographs and sometimes can't believe I am looking at our wedding, it almost doesn't feel real. Kirsten and I communicated almost entirely via email from Chicago to Key West. She understood my vision and delivered tenfold. We had the best team of vendors I could have ever wished for. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a single thing. Thank you so much, Kirsten, for all that you do and for keeping Fort Taylor such a beautiful and special place for all to enjoy!!! I would like to start by saying this wedding was almost a disaster. I had originally booked at another venue and then found out about 4 months until the wedding that I had been misled and had to change venues. I feel like the luckiest lady alive!

I am so glad that I had to find a new vendor and ended up falling in love with Weddings at Fort Zachary Taylor because Kirsten Corpion handled everything and there wasn't one single problem.

Weddings @ Fort Zach are private in a stunningly beautiful beach side location. The vendors for catering are A++ options. They provide the bar service (for a fee) and the bartender was great. Very knowledgeable on mixing drinks and she wasn't stingy either.

Our wedding was perfect, in every single way all thanks to Kirsten. I don't even know how to describe just how wonderful a job she did. She gave me vendor lists, then reviewed all the contracts, she got on call after call with me & vendors to talk about what we needed and what would work best for the space. She was there guiding me (or mostly doing it for me) every step of the way. She takes so much pride in her job that even if you did your best to mess it up - your wedding would still be perfect!

My husband is not a romantic at all. He hated the idea of a wedding because he didn't want to be in front of people as the center of attention. He was also not involved in the planning. I worked so hard to make it not "traditional" and with Kirsten's help it was everything we ever dreamed and then some. 7 vendors executed flawlessly under direction and the day of the wedding I didn't have a care in the world.

My husband even stopped complaining about how much it all cost afterwards. He was that happy with how it turned out!

This venue for my ceremony and reception was like a dream come true. The view was stunning, the timing was perfect and the service was impeccable. If you're planning from out of town, like I did, rest assured that your request will be heard and your wedding executed beyond what you could have imagined. No need for elaborate decorations with such a beautiful background. I highly recommend Ft. Zachary Taylor for the perfect wedding place.

When we first chose to have our wedding in Key West, Ft Zachary was already one of the locations we were excited to see. Once we actually saw it in person it was an easy decision for both the ceremony and reception venue. For our ceremony we chose "The Point" location. It was a beautiful space right on the water that provided us with amazing photos of the ceremony. The reception was located by the beach cafe. The way that the area was setup was absolutely beautiful. The space also features a fire pit and a beer boat that everyone at the party loved. I couldn't recommend this place enough for people looking to get married in Key West. To top it all off the event manager Kirsten Corpion is amazing at her job. For our wedding we hired her as our wedding planner to help us find all our vendors and deal with the contracts. She seems to know everyone in town and had great recommendations. For couples looking for a nice outdoor venue in Key West this is definitely the spot and I highly recommend having Kirsten as your wedding planner.

I fell in love with Fort Zachary the moment I saw pictures of it online. We had never been to Key West before but my husband and I always knew we wanted a beach ceremony at sunset. We toured the site the day before our wedding and it really has the best sunsets in Key West! Hands down! It became cloudy on our day, but it was still perfect! The sun peaked out as I was walking down the aisle and even a Disney cruise ship played the first few notes of "When You Wish Upon a Star" as it coasted by, just after being announced husband and wife! Our wedding planner worked wonderfully with Kirsten and even with a last minute reception venue change due to the weather, everything was spectacular - I honestly would not have changed a thing! We were originally to have our reception on the beach and cafe but due to a higher risk of rain during the evening, we moved inside the Fortress. And what a stunning location that is!! I still find myself speechless at the beauty and ambiance of it all - it is genuinely a one-of-a-kind location. If you're specifically coming to the Keys for a sunset wedding, Fort Zach simply cannot be beat!

We LOVED this venue. Kirsten was an awesome wedding planner. She set us up with all of our vendors, who were all amazing. This was such a huge help being that we are from Long Island, NY and know nothing about anyone from Key West. Every time I spoke with her it felt like a weight off my shoulders. They set up the ceremony location and the beach cafe so beautifully for our ceremony and reception it was unbelievable. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful it was. Even in July, there was such a beautiful breeze coming off the water that everyone was very comfortable for our outdoor, summer wedding. We did our first look at the Fort. Kirsten met us both, separately of course, to escort us to where we would see each other for the first time. She also made lots of great suggestions to help us plan the day. I cannot say enough how absolutely perfect this venue was. I highly recommend it!!!

When a dream becomes a reality and its all possible because of Kirsten Corpion. The location was absolutely phenomenal for our venue and was everything we imagined it would be. Kirsten put us in touch with so many wonderful vendors who truly made our wedding become a true reality. She was helpful, able to talk when ever needed, had solid advice and was great in helping negotiate contracts. Kirsten setup appointments for our vendor meetings ahead of time, took the time to thoroughly listen to us, and made everything on our wedding day.

We were married at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park at the R2 wedding location. It was really an incredibly beautiful spot, and it was gorgeous in the photographs. There are beautiful trees, stretches of beach, and piles of boulders that are perfect for capturing wedding photographs.

The best things about the location is that it's extremely beautiful! You really couldn't find a more romantic or fairy-tale perfect location for a dream beach wedding! Keep in mind, though, that at this location for a sunset ceremony, the chairs and altar are set up facing the sun, and there is minimal shade from the angle of the sunlight as the wedding is taking place. Half of our guests were sitting in chairs that were partially shaded by the leaves of a tree, but our planner moved some guests into the direct sunlight so the seating would be more even. Our guests wore sunglasses, but some of our fairer-skinned guests were sunburned after our short ceremony. The photographs are beautiful, though!

For ladies with long gowns, the sand here is not white like on the Gulf Coast, and there are small plants that will stick to any lace on your dress or slip. If you're walking to the edge of the beach for photographs, have one of your maids carry the dress to prevent it from sticking to these brambles. They are really not that big of a deal, though. It is a beach, after all!

It was such a beautiful location, I wish I could go back and do it all over again! You will love the R2 location, it's magical!!!

Fort Zachary Taylor was not our first choice for the location of our destination wedding in Key West but I'm so happy it was our final choice.

We were married on the beach (R3), followed by cocktails on the roof of the Fort and dinner in the Fort itself. All of it was breathtakingly beautiful!

But our day wouldn't have been near as perfect without Kirsten Corpion.

Kirsten is everything I could have hoped for in a wedding planner! Her engaging personality immediately puts you at ease and I’ve never felt more confident in someone’s ability to take care of every aspect of our wedding!

We hired Kirsten for her “day of” services but she handled far more than that. She made great recommendations for everything from the caterer to a salon for hair and make-up. She maintained great communication for the many months before our big day and really went above and beyond for us, making our wedding day so memorable for everyone who attended.

I highly recommend Kirsten and Fort Zachary Taylor if you’re looking for a magical day in one of the most beautiful places on earth! You will not be disappointed!

Fort Zach is beautiful and is a great value. The electricity stopped before my wedding and the staff at Fort Zach had a generator up and running before we knew what happened. Amazing!

The site is absolutely beautiful. Walking through the trees to get to the beach gives an opportunity for so many beautiful pictures. This is also our favorite beach in Key West.

Kirsten was absolutely wonderful! After listening to how we wanted to feel on our special day, we left all of the decisions in her hands and she provided us with a wedding that was exactly what we wanted and more. We couldn't be happier about our choice both with the Fort Zachary location and with Kirsten. She made us feel very comfortable and at ease from the initial consultation. She was very attentive with emails and calls, selected wonderful vendors, handled our time and schedule at the park with ease, and has exquisite taste. We were very happy with all of her pricing, to boot. Our guests have told us they felt inspired by the atmosphere Kirsten created. Kirsten gave us countless tips that were incredibly helpful on the day of the ceremony, helping us stay connected in the moment during the ceremony and while taking the photos. She assisted us and our guests throughout the entire time we were at the park. We have already recommended Kirsten to friends, and will continue to do so in the future.

This review is long overdue! Kirsten and the venue exceeded my expectations and then some. Throughout the whole planning process, Kirsten was there to answer any of my questions, recommend vendors, and just give me peace of mind. She was so cool to work with and made us feel extremely comfortable during the time leading up to the wedding. And then the wedding day... amazing in every way! I was blown away by the level of professionalism and hospitality the vendors (that Kirsten helped us choose) and Kirsten as the day of coordinator herself showed. Everything was perfectly set up, our guests were well taken care of, and the venue- absolutely stunning. We weren't sure at first how the beach cafe would look, but they were able to transform it into one of the most unique and memorable wedding reception spots I've ever seen. We did both the ceremony and reception at Fort Zach and our guests have been talking about our wedding ever since! Thank you Kirsten!

We got married in April at Fort Zachary Taylor state park. Both the reception and ceremony were absolutely perfect. Seeing the venue during the day doesn't do it justice, it was transformed into one of the most beautiful wedding venues I've ever seen. Kirsten was on top of everything and made our entire experience super easy. The wedding, venue, staff and vendors exceeded our expectations in every way and I would have zero hesitation to recommend Kirsten and Fort Zack to anyone!

My wedding at Fort Zach was better than I could have ever imagined! The location is absolutely breathtaking! Our sunset ceremony was very intimate and romantic- our guests are still talking about how amazing the sunset was! Kirsten was a pleasure to work with. My husband and I chose Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park for both our wedding ceremony and reception. I had read about the park through Martha Stewart Weddings, and arranged a visit to see it in person (we are based in NY).

Kirsten, the Special Events Director, was extremely helpful in planning my initial visit to Key West. I knew I wanted a destination wedding on the beach, but she solidified all my decisions by giving my mom and I a tour of the venue and a visual of what our wedding day would look like. She brought me to tears thinking about the day with my future husband :)!

Along the way, Kirsten also recommended our florist, caterer, DJ, officiant, lighting specialist and transportation for guests. I sent her lots (and I do mean, LOTS!) of ideas along the way, and she was always great about giving me her opinion and prices to go along with everything. Kirsten was truly my eyes and ears on the ground in Key West!

Although our photographer was a little difficult, Kirsten was great about working with her and making sure everyone was where they needed to be. My husband and I also did "First Look" photos, and Kirsten helped coordinate getting us to the Fortress area for some cool shots there. She also coordinated our entire rehearsal without our officiant, since he wasn't able to make it, AND took the time to meet with all of our vendors beforehand.

We had an amazing time planning the wedding, but the actual day completely surpassed our expectations. It was wonderful having everything in one location.

Moral of the story: do not hesitate to book here if you want a beach wedding! It is beautiful, they have a Plan B space (in case of bad weather) and the Special Events contact is amazing!

Kirsten was the best event planner i could have asked for! She handled everything for me while I was in Philadelphia! She made my day so special! Our wedding site at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park was absolutely beautiful! We picked the most expensive site (R2, the point) but it was well worth it. Our view was right out to the Gulf of Mexico at sunset. There were beautiful sail boats in the background as we said our vows. It was a little expensive in total because of the price per chair, admission fees, and the price to reserve the site but it makes it worth it knowing your money goes to help preserve a beautiful state park!

Fort Zachary Taylor is such a beautiful Venue, we had our ceremony and reception there and I would totally recommend it. Kirsten is the wedding planner on site ( which you hire) and she was so amazing!! I did all the planning myself, but she was there every step of the way to answer my questions and provide recommendations. They made my wedding absolutely perfect, I would not have changed anything. Kirsten and her mom were fabulous, they made my dreams come true, I knew it would be a beautiful wedding, but it surpassed my expectations. I had so many compliment me on how beautiful it all was and how nothing went wrong. The ceremony was held on the beach where the gulf and the Atlantic meet, they rope the section off because the park is still open. The reception is held by the beach café( the park is closed at this point), and they transform it to be stunning. They use lighting and decor to make the deck and below the deck where the tables are stand out. We also were able to use the fort to take pictures, which came out great. I cannot recommend this vendor enough, because of Kirsten and her staff my wedding was unforgettable.

Location at the point was beutiful! Kristen ropes off the area so no one gets in the way and will chase off anyone who gets too close. She got us organized and let us know what to do- super nice and helpful. Note that if you want pictures in the fort you must hire kristen- she has the key to get in after they close and will drive you there

We had our wedding ceremony on the beach at Fort Zach. We worked with Kirsten the event coordinator. She was amazing! They decorated our site and it was beautiful. We got so many compliments on how beautiful everything turned out. Kirsten was extremely helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly. Beautiful spot to get married. We paid a $50 insure fee and was very private. Grounds are immaculate and beautiful scenery with beautiful spots for photos. Make sure you reserve the "NR2" non-reserved shipping channel for the location. Absolute beautiful! Very easy to reserve for only $50!

We were married on the point location at sunset and paying to upgrade up from one of the free beaches to Ft Zachary was the best decision we made. The photos are completely amazing with the beach,sunset and boats sailing behind us. Be warned we did get some neighboring noise pollution from jet skis but was very brief and a bit to be expected at a public location. Kristen was a big help once at the park and accommodated our last minute additions of chair setup and questions graciously. Every guest complimented the views and the setting it was truly breathtaking. The sand is also very firm here so easy for mr and my guests to walk down the aisle. We also got a nice variety of photos with some trees and palms in addition to the beach itself and was nice to have a private area to keep down on the background photo crashing.

WOW - you can not get a much better venue for your wedding anywhere. We chose the point (R2) for our ceremony and the beach café for our reception and it was absolutely magical. We chose the venue based on reviews and didn't even see it until the day prior at rehearsal. The views at sunset are spectacular, and the reception setup with string lights on the beach is whimsical. The park is open to the public until sunset, so there WILL by bystanders watching your ceremony and/or the sunset while you are getting married, you have to be OK with that or this will not fly for you. After the ceremony ends and sunset is over, you have your own private beach for the reception (and fire pit!). Kirsten is so wonderful and has been at this a long time. We worked together for hours leading up to the event, over many MANY e-mails and a few phone consultations (closer to the big day). She did an extraordinary job keeping my photographer on pace (we did first look and wedding party photos on site prior to the ceremony) and made sure everything would work logistically. She and her team also did a great job setting up the ceremony and reception area (we had a remembrance table, placecards, and other décor items we brought that she took charge of). I did not have to worry about a thing knowing that I had her services for day of coordination, and she was excellent. Our photos are AMAZING and we had such a great time. The perfect wedding I envisioned became a reality because of FZT and Kirsten.

Fort Zachary Taylor was an absolutely amazing venue! The scenery and staff are excellent. My family and friends could not stop raving about the the beatiful location and the dinner in the sand with the sounds of the ocean in the background. Kirsten Corpion and her staff did a great job of transforming the park into a gorgeous beach side party with all of the ambience you could hope for! Fort Zach Wedding

If I were to have to do my wedding day all over again, I wouldn't change a thing! Everything about this venue is perfect. I highly suggest having your ceremony and reception in the fort. There were great views for cocktail hour and seeing the fort lit up at night is amazing! Kirsten was the best coordinator and helped us have a clear vision of what our wedding day would look like. It definitely exceeded our expectations!

Wedding of our DREAMS

Andrew and I had our wedding ceremony at the Point (R2) site and our reception in the Fortress. It was literally a DREAM!! Our family and friends are still talking about how beautiful our wedding was!
Our day-of wedding coordinator did an amazing job creating our wedding day timeline and ensuring all our vendors were on track the day of the wedding. The day went EXTREMELY smooth.. dare I say perfect! We couldn't have done it without her!
We would 10/10 recommend Fort Zachary Taylor for a wedding and reception. We had the most perfect day ever and would do it 1,000 times again!

Beautiful yet simple venue

We were married at R4 location. We initially wanted R2 (the point) but R4 was so much better! The ceremony was set up under a palm tree and it is private with the vegetation creating a small cove. The day ended up being windy and was happy we had the cover of the trees. Everything was set up when we got there at 4:00 and a sign had been put up in the morning to let people know there would be a ceremony taking place. The value was amazing and would do it again! We did not use the wedding planning services as we only had a small group but we did rent chairs and they were in good shape and satisfied our needs.

After visiting many locations in Key West, I knew that Ft Zach was the venue. They had so many options for ceremony and reception locations. They offered extended hours, bonfires, and beautiful views. My fiance is military and at Ft Zach we were able to have the beach ceremony for me and the military fort for him. Ft. Zach has amazing vendors to choose from and great ideas for lighting. Their team was so helpful - they did the set up and take down. I could not have worked with a better coordinator than Kirsten. We were planning a destination wedding and Kirsten was so understanding and kind with the entire planning process. I changed my mind so many times and she was incredibly patient and supported each one. She was easy to talk to, easy to get a hold of and very responsive to questions I had. She provided great recommendations when I asked and provided great input for many of my decisions. She genuinely cared about our important day. I cannot recommend her or the venue enough. Amazing!

Beautiful place for our wedding!!

Our wedding was in July 2024. Kirsten was amazing with helping us finish the final details. Even on the day of the wedding when the hotel would not allow our florist to deliver the flowers to our room, Kirsten took care of it. Now the site was truly amazing!! The water was such a picturesque background to exchange our vows. I was a little worried about the public being allowed on the beach and didn't want them to intrude. However, the ceremony site was roped off and it turned out fine. We will forever cherish Fort Zachary!

We got married at the point (R2) at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park on 5/21/16. We also utilized Kirsten as our wedding planner.

This is absolutely the best wedding venue on the island. My wife and I have been coming down to Key West for several years now and when we were looking at wedding options this was hand down the best location and value on the entire island. We had our wedding ceremony in the evening right on the water and then moved to the reception area by the beach cafe for the reception. The staff at Ft. Zachary completely changed the look of the beach cafe and everything was beautiful. On top of that, there was close to a full moon the night of our wedding so the moonlight lit up the beach and areas surrounding the cafe. The location was a dream come true for us.

With regards to cost, this location was somehow one of the cheapest places to get married on the entire island. We were shocked at how the cost of this place compared to other places. If you're coming to Key West to get married and actually want to have a "keys style wedding" then this is your place. If you want to get married in the comfort of a hotel and pay more, then I'm not sure why you even are coming to the Keys to get married to begin with!

Working with Kirsten was great. Kirsten is a jack-of-all trades at Fort Zachary and does everything and knows everyone. It was really nice working with her and she was helpful guiding us throughout the process. We had a very long engagement (2 years), but Kirsten helped us all along the way. During the rehearsal and day of the wedding Kirsten was really on top of things and was a calming presence leading up to things.

Everything during the wedding ceremony and reception was perfect and there were no hiccups or issues at all. The staff at Ft Zachary was great.

I'd highly recommend using this venue and Kirsten for your wedding and reception!

We chose Ft. Zachary Taylor as our wedding site after coming to Key West and looking at multiple beaches. We liked the fact that we could reserve Ft. Zachary and not have anyone else walking into our wedding like the public beaches could. We chose site R2 and fell in love with it as it was the perfect site for us. At a price of $500 we were a little hesitant but when it's your one wedding sometimes you just have to spend the money. We also ordered chairs through them and they were set up before we ever arrived and our site was roped off. We would definitely choose this exact site if we had to do it all over again.

Fort Zach is definitely the best place on the island to do a beach wedding. The rules and price are a bit much considering it is a publicly owned state park BUT, you can't get this anywhere else.

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony at site R4 on 01/06/18. The site was absolutely gorgeous and exactly what we had imagined for our beach wedding! We did run into a snag with responsiveness in the 2 weeks leading up to the wedding. In order for our guests and vendors to have access to the park for our ceremony, we were required to pay the park entrance fees for them ahead of time. Emails to the event coordinator were going unanswered, my husband was calling the park 4-5 time a day, and we couldn't get a hold of someone who could run our credit card. Eventually things were sorted out, but having the park suddenly be unresponsive so close to our wedding day was really stressful.
