My husband and I were lucky enough to have Kaua and Kevin as our wedding photographers. They both are so easy to work with and not only produce amazing photos but are AMAZING people and you will be put at ease just talking to them! They were able to capture every little detail of our wedding and blended in well with our wedding guests. We loved having them present on our wedding day and cannot thank them enough for the beautiful pictures we will enjoy for years to come!

I am so thankful my wedding planner found Kaua. He is such a wonderful person and easy to work with. He puts you at ease and takes amazing photos. I could not have asked for a better photographer for our special day. I highly recommend Kaua you won't be disappointed.

Ka'ua = Aloha. :) He was the perfect wedding photographer for us. He was so great to work with. We all felt very comfortable and he blended right in with our family and friends. He has a God given gift that shows through in how well he captures each moment. When we received our 'sneak peek' pictures we were completely speechless. Each time we'd swipe to a next picture we'd be like, Oh wow that's a really nice one then next, Oh my gosh this is a really nice one too! It never ended!!! We have so many compliments on all our pictures! We definitely made the right choice! These memories are going to live with us forever. We're so happy with such great quality and outstanding service.

We looked at a lot of wedding photographers on Maui before we found Ka’ua. The quality of his work just shone, and we immediately wanted to meet him. We had a holiday a year previous and were able to meet him in Hana, he even took some photos of us on the beach for fun – they were gorgeous.
Not only is Ka’ua got a lovely soul and we connected easily with him, he also has a very natural approach to photography – no awkward poses, or cheesy compositions – he captures whatever is happening in that moment – which made us feel at ease and relaxed.

I’ve just returned from our honeymoon and have received some samples of the full album from him and every photo is fantastic. We love all the photos, he has a natural style and captures intimate moments in every shot. Its actually made it difficult for us to choose one for our thank you cards. One of my colleagues remarked that many of these photos are so beautiful they belong in a bridal magazine!

We were more than thrilled with the work of Kaua and his team. Previewing his work on his website it was clear to us that Kaua was incredibly gifted at capturing unique moments. When we got to see the photos from our wedding, we were over the moon with the quality of each beautifully composed image. We absolutely LOVED working with Kaua! Not only is his work amazing, he himself is an amazing person to work with. Finding the right photographer you can rely on to capture the essence and beauty of a wedding can be a stressful task for any bride--especially for a destination wedding. But after just a few moments with Kaua, we knew we were in good hands! He works masterfully with angles and lighting to capture moments in the most creative and elegant ways possible. We loved the way he interacted with us and our guests to make us feel comfortable and at ease throughout the entire wedding. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how much they loved our photographer! He captures emotion at its purest and most candid moments, so that when you look back, you can easily relive those precious moments. Kaua definitely helped make our day feel even more special, and we're so incredibly happy with our choice of using Kaua as our photographer to capture one of the most important days of our lives. Kaua was an absolute delight to work with during the planning process and also on the day of our Olowalu Plantation House wedding! He took our engagement photos when we traveled to Maui to meet our vendors. I had been up in the air between a few photographers and wanted to feel really “sure” about my choice since their aesthetics were pretty different. After talking to Kaua about what I had envisioned- he NAILED the engagement shoot. Our pictures are pretty epic and very special. He is truly a photography ninja- obviously there were portrait shots that we were aware of, but he also captured so many spontaneous moments throughout the day. He was never intrusive- such a kind and warm personality to have on your wedding day. My husband doesn’t like to smile with his teeth, and Kaua was able to nab a few shots of a full on smile! He works a lot with our wedding planner- Lori from Tropical Maui Weddings, so we got an awesome deal on our package. Not only is he very reasonable with his pricing, he delivers the highest caliber work. I am ecstatic with our photos- he’s already sent us a sneak peek of the final wedding album, and if that’s all I ever see- it’ll be enough. We have too many good shots to choose from! What a great problem to have!

Kaua is really awesome. I planned my wedding from the mainland and the entire process was super easy and stress free. Kaua is really laid back and easy to talk to. I was worried I might be awkward in front of the camera, but he makes you feel completely comfortable. He makes different suggestions for poses and settings, and just captures beautiful shots. I've only seen the preview so far, but I am super impressed and can't wait to get the final shots. I would recommend Kaua to anyone looking for a wedding photographer in Maui :D

We had an amazing experience with Kaua Photography!! It started with a get to know each other Skype date… That told us that Kaua cared very deeply for his clients & their desires, but we weren't prepared for just how creative he is or the clever little details he captured of our wedding day! Our wedding pictures look like they should be sold with the frames in the stores! Absolutely spectacular!

We are thoroughly pleased with our experience & we would highly recommend Kaua Photography to anyone getting married in Hawaii!

Kaua did such an amazing job at our wedding I'm beyond words! He was everywhere and captured all the right moments at all the right times. He's very down to earth and just great to work with. I didn't feel posed at all and everything just felt so natural - the end results looked that way too. We got almost 200 previews with watermarks within DAYS of the wedding (amazing, who does that?!) and my final product in colour, antique, black and white versions 2 months later. I'm so glad we chose Kaua. Friendly, responsive and professional. Thank you for being awesome, Kaua!

Kaua shared a unique journey with us as our wedding photographer and he will always hold a special place in our hearts! The journey began in Maui when my now husband was planning to propose and hoped to capture the moment on film. He called around the island and was given the recommendation of Kaua. He then proceeded to coordinate with Kaua to secretly meet in Hana at a breathtaking waterfall that Kaua suggested. The proposal went off without a hitch and Kaua took the most beautiful candid photos we could have imagined, but we didn’t stop there! We loved Kaua’s work so much that we had to have him for our wedding shots on the big day…So we flew him to the San Francisco Bay Area where he was not only our wedding photographer but an honored guest! Kaua is a true professional. He knows exactly what to capture and his artistic eye is unparalleled! He is truly a genius! I looked beautiful in every single photograph he took and our wedding pictures are nothing short of amazing! Everyone swears it was the best wedding they have ever been to and Kaua was able to capture the spirit and the beauty of our joyous event from start to finish with fantastic flair! I recommend him to anyone who wants stunningly beautiful photographs and magical moments captured on film. It will be the best decision you make in planning your event!

Kaua was AWESOME!! He was so easy to work with and we had so much fun working with him!! We were married in Maui and before we even left the island we had recieved 105 "teaser" pictures from our wedding!! They're amazing, we loved every single one of them, and I (the bride), never like pictures of myself!! I would chose to work with Kaua again in a second and would most definitely recommend him to anyone wanting a photographer for their special day!! He's very professional but also so easy going, he'll give you suggestions for pictures but he's amazing at getting picture that you don't even realize he's taking!! Pictures are such a huge part of you wedding day and I'm so happy we chose Kaua for our photographer!!

I must say Kaua is one of the most talented photographers I've ever seen. He has such an amazing eye and is so easy to work with. He gets the natural and candid photos as well as posed photos and they come out amazing!! He doesn't put you in any awkward poses too which is great! I'm not a fan of those. He just tells you to walk over there and act natural and then...MAGIC!! Seriously... Magical pictures!! I will cherish them for a lifetime and cannot thank him enough. Worth every penny and highly recommend!!!

I can't recommend Kaua enough!! The photos he took were beyond what we ever expected. He has an eye for stunningly beautiful photos. He worked so hard all night and made all of us feel very comfortable and at ease. He was friendly and wonderful to work with as was his editor Kevin. If permitted 10-Stars, that is what I would give Ka'ua Wedding Photography. I’m still grinning ear-to-ear after viewing the wonderful images of our special day.

We were seeking a photographer able to capture the spirit and essence of our day without looking staged – someone with an eye for special moments, gestures and encounters – which we found with Ka'ua (who was introduced to us by our coordinator, Fay Hovey of Aloha Maui Weddings). We wanted images of us – and our guests – laughing, wiping away tears, making silly faces, eating, drinking, dancing and expressing happiness, and that is precisely what Ka'ua gave us. His emphasis on genuine emotion, rather than staged shots, is what truly sets him apart from other wedding photographers.

I’ll add that, as a person uncomfortable in front of the camera (and not very photogenic) I honestly cannot thank Ka'ua enough for his talent and approach: never did I feel put on the spot, staged or awkward. Kaua has a gift for putting people at ease, snapping his photos quietly and discreetly, and in my opinion capturing the most special moments of the wedding – those instances when our guests (and I) were simply savoring the day. Looking at the album today, he made me – and everyone – look beautiful.

We are extremely happy with our selection of Ka'ua for our wedding photos. He is a gracious, easy-going, highly skilled photographer with a talent for photos that are natural, flattering and most important: FUN.

Photography was our most important wedding expense, and I absolutely feel like we received tremendous value. Ka'ua sets the bar for wedding and event photography.

We had the pleasure of having Kaua as the photographer at our wedding at the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua in January, and we could not have been more pleased. Kaua is an exceptional professional in his field, as well as a warm, friendly person, and the combination of his skill and personality makes him an absolute delight to work with. I was a VERY nervous bride, and his professional, yet very easy and charming demeanor really helped to set me at ease. I am certain that if we had a different photographer that our photos would not have turned out nearly as beautiful, as I would have been much more nervous.

What impresses me the most about our wedding photos, is the beautiful variety of images Kaua produced. While many wedding photographers pigeonhole themselves into one particular style, Kaua's range of skill allowed him to provide us with every type of image that we could have hoped for. Many photographers who take personality filled photojournalist style photos simply can't produce the dramatic landscapes and styled photos that Kaua also captured. When I look through our wedding images, we have it all, from family members caught in the moment laughing, to dramatic landscapes of us on an oceanside cliff, to fashion magazine quality bridal portraits in front of a water fall.

If you are considering Kaua for your wedding photographer, I not only highly recommend that you use him at your wedding, but I also recommend that you book a Trash the Dress photo shoot with him in his native Hana. The photos from our Hana trip are among our favorites, and the Hana photo shoot experience is a special memory that my husband and I will cherish forever.

Our wedding photos are our memories, and thanks to Kaua we have the most beautiful memories of our wedding day. I still have not made it through our photo slideshow without crying (as I did on our wedding day) because of the overwhelming joy that I felt. I feel it every time I see the photos. Kaua somehow managed to capture all the emotions that were there with us that day. Not just ours, but those of everyone around us too. On the day, and at the honeymoon shoot, he was wonderful to work with. He let us be ourselves, and in doing that was able to create photos which show real joy rather than awkward smiles when posing for a camera. Having our photos done by Kaua let us have fun and enjoy ourselves on our wedding day. It was natural and beautiful and now the photos reflect that. Kaua is also an extremely likeable individual, so we were grateful he was able to be a part of our day. We cannot express just how appreciative we are for what he has done for us. All you need to do is watch the wedding slideshows of his work and you will be hooked. I would and have recommended that anyone getting married in Maui have Kaua help them to make memories of their wedding day as amazing as ours.

Kaua was one of the few wedding photographers recommended to us by our wedding planner. After speaking with all of the photographers and checking out their individual websites we knew Kaua was the right choice for us. Admittedly, my husband and I have never been fans of being in front of the camera. So naturally that was a concern prior to our wedding! However, all of those fears evaporated quickly after meeting and working with Kaua. His big smile, calming presence and upbeat personality really drew us in and allowed us to be comfortable and relax. We never once felt posed or intimidated by the knowledge that a camera was following our every move.
I can’t say enough nice things about him as a person and his approach as a photographer. His two part approach captured moments at our wedding that we never would’ve seen from that perspective and therefore would’ve never experienced. We are both still in awe of our photos, and how they perfectly captured the essence and spirit of our wedding.
We will never be able to thank Kaua enough for not only preserving but capturing our wedding the way that he did. Thank you!!

Kaua is hands down the best photographer in Maui. Kaua answered all of our questions or concerns before our wedding day. He has a very kind and warm personality about him that makes you feel comfortable the minute he walks in. Kaua has an amazing eye for capturing the joy and happiness you feel on your wedding day. We can't say enough great things about Kaua. I knew when I spoke to him, that his personality would mesh so well with our wedding party and guests. He was a joy and pleasure to work with. He's relaxed and laid back which makes everyone else around him the same way. His communication via email and phone were always responsive, and he also arrived early at our wedding. Kaua first captured our attention with his alternative photography style, but it was only after meeting him and hearing his story that we knew we had found the photographer for us. Because of his relaxed demeanour and passion for photography he was able to naturally capture all the special moments on our wedding day without being intrusive. It almost felt like he was one of our guests!

As part of our package we also took the Trash the Dress session in Hana. Kaua’s local knowledge of the area resulted in some breath taking photos in some of the most amazing settings. The whole experience felt very natural and never forced.

We feel very grateful that Kaua was able to capture our wedding. His photos speak for themselves, but it was the ease in which they were captured that really impressed us.

All of our friends and family have commented on how beautiful our wedding photographs are. While researching vendors for my Maui wedding I have to say I was in love with Kaua's work. Other photographers had nice photos but there was something extra special about the photos Kaua captured. I knew we had to make sure we were able to book him for our big day and we are SO happy we did. He was super friendly and made us feel relaxed and comfortable. The photos and lighting he captured in our sunset photos is magical. I hope to be able to have another event someday where we can have Kaua take photos. I would highly recommend him for any special occasion.

Kaua was amazing to work with. Being an extremely camera-shy couple, we were relieved to find that Kaua was really laid back and fun to work with. We were both very comfortable and actually had a great time during our session. The finished product was better than we could have ever imagined! Our pictures turned out beautiful and captured each moment perfectly. Our personalities came through each photograph and didn't seemed staged. There is really not enough great things I can say about Kaua, other than to choose him for your special occasion. You will not be disappointed!!!

Kaua is very patient and professional, and helpful on giving suggestions on related services. We had great experience on working with him for our destination wedding in Maui. Coz we had a destination wedding, he helped us chose the dream beach from a lot of pictures online. He was also flexible on location when we decided where to have the photoshoot at last minute. I don't usually pay attention on giving feedbacks on the services we had, but this one I have to give him a thumb up! Hope we could have anniversary photography with him in the future!

He photographed our wedding and we truly cannot express how happy we were with his level of professionalism, how comfortable and at ease he made us and all of our guests feel, and his flexibility in delivering to us what we wanted. All of our guests at our wedding commented on just how amazing he was. The photos we received from our wedding were unbelievable- he managed to capture every special moment of our wedding and all of our guests could not believe how beautiful his photography was. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone getting married in Maui!

I took a lot of time researching photographers for our destination wedding in Maui, read lots of review and also considered my hotel's photographer recommendations (which does not include Kaua). I got to say, picking Kaua to be our photographer is the best decision we made for our wedding, he's so professional, the pictures was just breath taking. Our wedding location in Maui was spectacular, somehow Kaua just make it looks even more gorgeous on the pictures. Needless to say, we look amazing on the pictures. We're so happy with Kaua, you gotta pick him if you're getting marry in Maui. He works magic. I would like to go back to Maui to get more pictures taken by Kaua.

Absolutely stunning shots! Kaua was very flexible and accommodated desired changes and additional shots needed at my hotel, the groom's hotel and venue shots. I honestly didn't believe that he could do it himself but he did. The photo results blew me a way. Thank you Kaua for beautifully capturing my special day in paradise.

We chose Kaua after receiving a recommendation from a friend. We were so glad we did. Kaua is an amazing photographer! Our wedding photos were breath taking. On the hottest evening of the year, he persevered capturing so many moments that flew by. He truly has an eye for a beautiful picture and is extremely talented. We are really picky about photography, to the point we almost didn't have a pro photographer. I'm glad we found Kaua! Kaua's work is so beautifully done. It's not just pictures, it's PHOTOGRAPHY.
He was responsive and accessible so it was great to work with him, especially since we didn't have a wedding planner.

Ka'ua captured every moment and detail of our special day! I was so impressed with how knowledgeable he was with finding a variety of locations, which were mostly hidden gems, and unique shots. He was able to tell the story of our entire day in our photos. My husband absolutely dreaded having his picture taken and Ka'ua made him so comfortable and relaxed. There was no pressure and most of our pictures were candid shots, but so personal! No traditional "smile and say cheese" photos for us! I couldn't have been happier and our photos. They were far beyond what I ever expected!

Ka'ua is awesome! He was so great to work with from the initial conversations to our wedding day! He is a very talented photographer and he captured all of the emotions of our wedding that when we look at our pictures we feel like we are right back at our wedding! We had record rainfall on our wedding and our ceremony was outside in upcountry Maui. Ka'ua went out of his way to help us and our guests and he was so great in finding different ways to take all the pictures we wanted and make it work around the weather while keeping us dry. Our guests, as well as our friends that were not able to make it have all commented that he is the best photographer they have ever seen. Thanks Ka'ua!

Kaua and Kevin are a great photography team that I would hire again in a heart beat. The photos they took were fantastic and we've gotten a lot of compliments from friends and family. I had a photo list I sent over to Kaua and wasn't sure if he was able to get to it all (it was a lot), but when I got the final photos, everything was there. Also, they have been great with any additional requests I had, applying a antique finish to the photos, photoshoping a few photos, getting us a preview early on for an event we had, etc. The responsiveness has been a little slower than I expected because we got married at the end of the summer peak. But I would rather they take their time and rush to get us done.

Kaua is a kind and thoughtful man with a beautiful eye for details. We immediately felt at ease with him even though we didn't have a chance to meet before the actual wedding. For a destination location like Maui, being able to trust your vendors is essential. Kaua came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Kaua photographed our wedding in November 2013. We are very happy with the images we have received so far but are waiting for our full set from the day. We selected a package with 2 photographers for 6 hours. This was a great option as we have lots of photos from different angles.

Kaua was really easy going and great to work with. He is fun and laid-back which makes taking photographs really easy. He was able to make everyone feel comfortable for the group and family shots, which gave some lovely photos.

On top of this we had some really impressive creative shots, especially with the rings, gifts, dress and shoes etc.

Kaua felt more like a guest than a photographer. He came to the hotel we were getting ready at then met us at the wedding site and even spent a few hours shooting with us in Hana. He is amazing and we feel lucky to have found him.

Kaua was great to work with. He was willing to work within my budget and was very easygoing. Kaua also provided great quality. The only thing I wish I would have done differently would have been to take more portrait style pics with the wedding party and our families. I also would have liked some more bridal portraits - by the time we took some of just me, my hair was all messed up from taking numerous pictures on a pier.
