Katie is the best! Clearly her work is stunning, she is such an amazing photographer, but she is also an incredible human! Katie photographed my engagement photos, rehearsal dinner, and wedding. She made everyone feel so comfortable and really set the tone for everyone to have fun and relax. She was on top of the schedule without making me feel even remotely rushed or stressed. I've never been a part of family photos at a wedding that went so smoothly, especially with a 4 year old, my mom and sister mentioned multiple times throughout the wedding day how amazing she is! Also, it was really important to my husband and I that we could slow down, spend quality time together and with our families and she was so supportive of creating a timeline that let us do that and be fully present with our loved ones. Can't recommend Katie enough! -

Katie was absolutely incredible to work with, and we could not be happier with our wedding photos.
From the start, she made the entire process fun and painless even with our very large families, which is no small feat. She kept things moving, kept everyone relaxed, and somehow made group photos feel effortless.
We were also lucky enough to have a snowstorm on our wedding day, which made for truly beautiful outdoor photos. But it also required extra grit and dedication. Katie and Tori went above and beyond, braving the elements and somehow convinced our entire wedding party to head outside. We’re so glad they did, because those photos are some of our favorites.
The final images turned out even better than we had hoped for. Katie has an amazing eye, and her ability to capture genuine moments. We are so grateful for her work and cannot recommend her strongly enough to anyone looking for a talented and genuinely enjoyable wedding photographer.
Oh and be sure to do the engagement photo shoot even if you don't want engagement photos. The experience got us used to being photographed and tuned Katie in to what did and didn't look natural for us. While our engagement photos were excellent, by the time we got to our wedding Katie was dialed in and the results were unbelievable. -

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Katie from Kathryn Hyslop Photography. From our engagement photos to our wedding day, she was absolutely amazing. She is incredibly professional, yet makes you feel like you’ve known her for years.
Katie is fantastic at guiding you through poses when you don’t know what to do, without ever making it feel awkward or forced. On our wedding day, she truly felt like a mini assistant, always helping in any way she could and going above and beyond to make the day run smoothly.
What really sets her apart is how naturally she captures moments. She makes you feel so comfortable behind the camera that it feels like it isn’t even there. The photos genuinely reflect who we are and perfectly tell our love story. Hiring Katie was the best decision we made.
We hired Katie to photograph our wedding, and it was one of the best decisions we made. She was an absolute delight to work with, and her photos are stunning. She is so friendly and professional, and she immediately put me -- someone that totally freezes in front of a camera -- at ease. She was well organized and thorough, and she captured all of the day's moments beautifully. We hope to work with her again in the future, but in the meantime, we're so lucky to have her photos to remind us of our favorite day for years to come. I can't recommend her enough! -

Katie was absolutely incredible to work with. From our first call to our engagement photos to our actual wedding photos, she made the process easy, enjoyable, organized, and so fun. She went above and beyond to give us the perfect wedding photos and we got an amazingly large assortment of candid and posed photos that look natural and high quality and suited us as a couple. We had a large crew and she was able to organize everyone quickly and kindly. She helped keep our day on track. She went with our crazy ideas and even helped bring them to life. We have and will continue to recommend her to absolutely everyone. We didn’t have to worry about a thing on our wedding day largely in part to Katie. And we have way too many amazing photos to even pick a favorite - a great problem to have!! -

Katie is truly incredible behind the lens and somehow even more incredible as a human being. She photographed my wife and I’s elopement, and from the very first moment we met her, we felt so deeply seen, supported, and genuinely celebrated. It was just the three of us on our wedding day, and Katie brought this effortless calm, so much joy, and an energy that made the entire experience feel sacred and unforgettable. It meant everything to have a photographer who not only understood our vision but honored it. Katie made us feel completely comfortable and authentically ourselves in front of the camera, something that is truly priceless. She captured us exactly as we were: our love, our laughter, and our quiet moments. We were lucky enough to work with her again this past October when she photographed our small, intimate wedding reception, and once again, she exceeded every expectation. Katie was absolutely incredible and perfectly captured exactly what we envisioned for both our engagement photos and wedding photos! She listened to my partner and I, took time to get to know us, and understood exactly the vibes we were going for when taking photos. I cannot emphasize enough how beautiful her pictures turned out -- we are completely in love. Katie is so friendly and instantly made us feel at ease in front of the camera. And on our wedding day, she was ON it, helping to organize family shots, and made sure the day went smoothly. And on top of that, she even drove out early on the Friday before our wedding to capture sunrise running shots with us and some of our running friends! Katie is the best!
Katie is what made our wedding day special. She is so talented and what we loved about her is how she captured our relationship in a way that was organic as well as beautiful. Katie is organized and knows the city well. We loved our engagement session in the snow a few months prior. Amazing Amazing Amazing
Kathryn was wonderful from the beginning - she was very responsive when I started my search and answered all of my questions, and allowed me to thoroughly review the contract. Her payment schedule was clearly communicated. Leading up to the wedding, she worked with me to develop a timeline for the entire day, and talked through my crazy family photo requests (even though that part of the day ended up being very different day of - she adjusted perfectly!) She captured my and my husband and all of our friends and family perfectly. She matched our vibe, and you can really see the fun through the pictures. Day of, she was every where getting all of the best shots but also somehow right next to me when I had a specific request! I could not recommend her more - her and her 2nd shooter were worth every single penny!!!!! -

May Wedding - Heinz History Center
Katie brings a fun energy and you can’t help but smile and laugh around her. My husband and I were drawn to her work from her website especially with her work at the Heinz History Center where we had our ceremony and reception. She made us feel at ease right from the get go. We appreciated seeing all the areas we would photograph ahead of time. She was so organized and was able to capture so many moments and shots in a timely manner - and made sure we stayed on time. In addition, she worked so well with our videographer. We are over the moon with our photos and will cherish these moments she so vividly captured. I highly recommend Katie and want her to continue to capture our special moments in the future. -

Book Katie for your wedding ASAP!! We had our wedding in April 2023. When our first look spot didn't end up working out due to another wedding couple having the area reserved, she came up with THREE back up options right on the spot and honestly it was 10x better than our original plan! Katie made us feel relaxed the entire day while somehow also keeping us right on time. We received an amazing sneak peek photo reel on Instagram the NEXT DAY and then received our entire wedding album in about 3 weeks. The photos are absolutely stunning. I am so thankful we chose Katie as our wedding photographer!!! -

When we hired Katie for our engagement and wedding photos, we knew we had one big worry off our minds - we had the best and could trust her to capture our day authentically. Katie is absolutely amazing! We had a wedding meeting prior to the wedding for her to capture details of the day. The day of she was early and filled with energy. She made sure to capture every detail. She kept everyone organized by letting us know how to pose, who needs to be in the pictures, where to look to capture great pictures, and so much more. Her editing skills are amazing as well. Over all such a great experience with her, and I absolutely would recommend her to anyone! -

Best photographer ever!
Katie is a phenomenal photographer! She is incredibly detail oriented, sharing ideas and asking questions you may not have thought of that are so helpful in adding to your special day. From the engagement photos to the wedding day, she made us feel so at ease and provided us with helpful advice throughout a very stressful wedding planning experience. Not only does she take beautiful photos, but she’s so fun to work with! She will make you laugh and bring out the best of you and your significant other’s relationship through her photos. She cares about the couples she works with and her photos are proof of that! -

I don't even know where to begin reviewing Katie. She was absolutely amazing! We got married in Ireland with 25 of our closest family members and friends. Katie fit right in! She tagged along with us for the 5 days and documented our entire journey. Katie made us feel extremely comfortable while she was taking our pictures and it wasn't awkward at all. I'm one of those people who don't like PDA so I was impressed she could get me out of my comfort zone! Although she listened to our photo requests, we didn't have to continue to come up with ideas for a "good shot". Katie had a million great ideas of what the perfect picture looks like and our wedding album shows that. We continue to get told that we had the most beautiful wedding photos that anyone had ever seen. Throughout the entire trip, Katie was easy going, prompt and randomly helpful. I say randomly because she would just appear out of nowhere like a Fairy Godmother helping in any way she could. It was obvious she has a lot of experience with weddings because she had so many tips and tricks that I don't know what we would've done without her. I recommend her any chance I can. If I could give Katie a 10, I would! You won't be disappointed with her professionalism or her photos. -

Katie is the best photographer we have ever worked with!
Katie truly did an amazing job with making our wedding guests look so unique and beautiful in her photos. We were surprised at how much personality and joy could be captured in a well-timed shot.
The photos of the bride and groom were remarkable!! We both feel that Katie was truly able to capture the emotions of every stage of the day - anticipation, celebration, and love. Everyone we show our photos to says "Wow, that should be on the cover of a magazine!" She just did such an incredible job!!! If you are hesitant about pricing, realize that her services are merely priced competitively and DEFINITELY worth it!! -

We did both our engagement session and wedding photos with her. It was important to me to find someone who was easy to get ahold of, flexible, and organized. She helped me with planning and gave me a lot of advice. During our sessions she was fun, direct with what needed to happen, organized, and super patient especially with our dogs! We had a big bridal party, 19 in total, Katie kept us on schedule and on task! Our pictures turned out to be more amazing than we ever could have imagined! Thank you so much!!

Maggie Sent on 06/07/2018My husband and I simply cannot say enough great things about Katie! We are so grateful that she was able to capture the most important day of our lives. She made the entire wedding process smooth and easy when it came to the photography component. Not only is Katie extremely kind but she also makes her subjects feel very comfortable while they are being photographed. We loved the way that she would tell us to “just keep making out and act cute with each other.” She has an amazing way of putting you at ease when you are in front of the camera. We were married on May 19th and Katie knew how much that I did not want it to rain. Even though we had two little surprise rain showers, she made me feel so much better about the whole situation by telling me that “it’s going to blow over, don’t worry.” And she was right! Also, not surprisingly, the rain shots that we did get were ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING and some of my favorite pictures honestly. She has an amazing way of turning what I thought would be a bad situation into a good one. So many of our family members and friends at the wedding commented on how easy going yet hardworking Katie is and we could not agree more. Katie is extremely friendly yet professional. My husband and I both felt that she really took the time to get to know us as people and the style that we wanted to have for our wedding. Katie even takes the time to follow your Pinterest account if you have one to get a sense of the type of style, poses, and lighting that you want your photos to have. Katie is also extremely organized by making a day-of-timeline with all of the important shots that you want at the wedding so you don’t have to stress about it. I felt completely comfortable the day of the wedding because I knew that she would capture all of the important moments that I wanted. She is such an amazing person and truly an artist behind the camera. You cannot go wrong with hiring her and I look forward to working with her for future life events!

Tracy Sent on 10/19/2017The 1st time I booked Katie was for my sons senior pictures in 2015 Since then, I I've been fortunate enough to book Katie for 3 more family shoots including my youngest daughter's senior pictures, my engagement pictures and my wedding pictures. Katie is very professional and friendly. She has a real eye for getting the perfect shots and is very artistic about it. The quality of every one of Katie's shots proves she is a professional at her job. Everyone that has seen the pictures she shot for me and my family are amazed how beautiful and creative they are. What I like best is that she takes the time to get to know the person she is working with and makes you feel comfortable. The only regret I have is not finding her sooner to have been able to book her for my oldest daughter's senior pictures. I highly recommend her service, you will not be disappointed.

Jennifer Sent on 10/15/2017There are so many wonderful things to say about Katie. She is incredibly easy to work with, friendly, and still maintains a professionalism to get her work completed. She was punctual with our engagement session and early on our wedding day. The final meeting before our wedding was such a help to keep us organized and calm, as well as to inform us of what to expect. Then we got our photos back (very timely) and were just blown away! Be prepared to stare at your phone/computer for hours!! Katie is extremely personable, talented and creative. This is her calling in life and we would recommend her to anyone ( and we have been!) -
