Words cannot describe what an amazing experience working with Kathryn Conover is. She is the absolute best. I didn't search for long before becoming discouraged at every bridal salon I went into. All cookie cutter dresses and no one had what I envisioned wearing for my October wedding. I feared I would have to walk down the aisle in a dress I didn't love and didn't feel comfortable in. Then I found Kathryn and my vision came to life. She totally understood me from day one. From our very first meeting I felt an instant connection with Kathryn. I was incredibly impressed wth her professionalism and creativity-- she's a real veteran in the bridal industry, and I felt so lucky to have her design my wedding gown.
My gown was absolutely PERFECT and so AMAZING. It was everything and more. It was truly Kathryn's brainchild, and it turned out to be exactly what I wanted-- long French lace sleeves, couture bodice, the perfect A-line, and an amazingly soft tulle skirt. We added a touch of baby blue tulle underneath the skirt and bodice that provided just the right amount of 'cool'. So awesome! It was really a unique and GORGEOUS gown. I completely trusted in Kathryn's design expertise and Alba's skilled hand throughout the process. They both could not have been more accommodating at every single appointment. They went to great lengths to ensure I was happy at every single stage. Kathryn truly made my dream dress come to life and it had a huge WOW factor because of how unique it was. Every single person at my wedding was in awe of my incredible gown. I wish I could wear it every day!
If you want a custom gown, look no further. I would recommend Kathryn Conover Bridal Couture to any bride looking for a custom gown and intimate experience. Working with Kathryn was one of my favorite parts of wedding planning. I really miss our appointments!! She made me feel so special and truly made my wedding dreams come to life. Simply, you need to contact Kathryn to create the couture gown of your dreams! Her level of design expertise, industry knowledge, and dedication to creating beautiful brides is unmatched. After trying on dozens of gowns in various bridal boutiques, I thankfully found Kathryn through an online search. We had a quick phone call to discuss my vision for the gown, timing, and budget, and throughout the design process, Kathryn was extremely helpful, kind, and patient. We worked to create a wedding gown that truly represented me! You need to know the feeling of putting on a custom gown - - it fits to you in style, shape, and feeling. From hand beading to specialty lace and hand printing to fabric choices, Kathryn has a wealth of knowledge and ideas to help create the perfect gown. Additionally, the quality of the final product is unmatched. After a night of dancing, my gown does not have one rip or sign of wear. The fabric we chose was soft and lightweight!! We were able to recreate my take on a $13,000 gown for a fraction of the cost, and I can not wait to wear my gown again at an upcoming event. I am so thankful to have found Kathryn! Please, do not waste your time searching through boutiques and the isles upon isles of dull, overdone, uncomfortable, and overrated 'designer' gowns. Kathryn has a long history of creating breathtaking, one-of-a-kind couture gowns and it'll be an amazing experience. For those who do not live in the city (like me), she is conveniently located in the garment district, just a block away from Penn Station. She works to schedule appointments that fits your timing, and she's very easy to communicate with via phone and e-mail. I've worked with her for years, and highly recommended her to a number of my brides. Those who wanted a whimsical look, always chose her out of the handful of options. I have personally had a couture dress created for myself, and she made my thoughts come to life. A show stopping dress to say the least. She goes above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. I was so LUCKY to have found Kathryn. After reading her reviews online and checking out her website, she was overly accommodating to ensure to schedule a time to meet with me in person during one of my business trips to NYC (I live in FL). I had tried on a million dresses and loved them all, but always wanted to change something here or there... I realized upon meeting her that she was the way to go and over time she became so much more than a dress designer, but a true friend.
She totally "got" my vision from day one, and when she drew the sketch I was blown away. We shared pinterest boards and collaborated on fabrics, etc. and got along really so well. She and Alba made my DREAM DRESS and I cannot wait to wear it on my wedding day!
She's totally reasonably priced. On such a special day when you're hand-crafting every detail, why leave your gown up to a designer off the rack? It's a great experience to work with an expert designer like her - I can't wait to work with her again :)I was so LUCKY to have found Kathryn. Kathryn is so extremely talented and so patient! She was a dream to work with. She truly understands the design process and helped coach me, narrow my vision, and help bring it to life! She takes the time to work with you and understand what you like and what you don't like. Alba who made my dress is willing to listen and help every step of the way. They truly are a dynamic duo! With the amount of times I changed my mind I thought Kathryn was going write me off completely. I am so thankful for Kathryn who is not only an amazing dress designer, but feels like a friend at this point! I got so many compliments on my dress, my guests were truly in awe. It ended up being so classic and elegant, there is no way I would have been able to find this in a store on a rack! This is truly a special, couture experience. Kathryn has been amazing! We worked closely to come up with the perfect design for my wedding dress. She was able to combine a couple different styles I liked into one masterpiece. I went to Kathryn with an odd request for a wedding gown and she stepped up to the task. Her professional input took my rough ideas and turned them into something exquisite, and her warmth and excitement made the entire process a true pleasure. Kathryn made me my dream dress and when I was with her I felt like the most beautiful bride in the world. She goes that extra mile to make your experience special. On top of being such a wonderful woman, Kathryn is both talented and affordable which really makes her the very best. I am so glad I got to work with her. Kathryn created the most AMAZING wedding dress for me. Period. End of story.
I had a really hard time finding a dress that I liked - I went to seven different shops/boutiques and literally nothing bowled me over. Nothing gave me that feeling of "YES, this is my dress". I had some ideas as to what I wanted but simply could not find it in a store. It was actually a shop girl who recommended I get a custom dress made.
It was a very cool process - a bit overwhelming for me a times only because Kathryn can basically create ANYTHING you can imagine. Hard to choose when you have unlimited options!
But it was such a rewarding process and and in the end I had the most fantastic dress. Truly the dress of my dreams.
I would recommend Kathryn to any bride who wants what she wants and won't take anything less!Kathryn created the most AMAZING wedding dress for me. Period. End of story.

Kathryn made me the dress of my dreams. It was so much fun working with her and I got a one-of-a-kind, couture gown that was exactly what I wanted. It was so unique and I was complimented on it the entire evening. It was a great creative process figuring out the dress and Kathryn was very flexible and accommodating with all of my ideas, yet at the same time she always offered her expert opinion to help me make sure we were going to end up with the very best possible outcome. Moreover, in the end, I paid significantly less than I would have paid for the same level of dress bought through a major department store or bridal boutique. If you're a hands-on creative bride, I highly recommend working with Kathryn!Kathryn made me the dress of my dreams. I can not warn you enough to not use this seamstress. Kathryn handed me her idea of a “finished” wedding dress 3 days before my wedding, after working on it for months, leaving me with no choice but to RUN to find someone to help me fix it. The top and bottom of my dress were sewn together crooked and had to be taken apart and realigned to match up! There were holes in my $900 lace that she didn’t patch up, the seams inside my dress were not even closed, and it had to be taken out 3 inches for it to fit me properly! When I brought this dress to a different seamstress, she assured me that she has never seen sloppier work in her 30 years as a seamstress. She told me my dress would come apart because none of the seams were locked and that they had to completely take the dress apart and work on it part by part to get it ready for my wedding day in less than 3 days. They even took it home with them to finish it in time because they felt so terrible for the situation Kathryn put me in. Thank goodness, in the end they made my dress beautiful- I couldn’t have been happier. However, that also consisted of me spending A LOT more money to get my dress fixed and that was on top of Kathryn adjusting the cost of my dress to well above my budget each time she worked on it (without seeing much progress!) She also doesn’t do any of the sewing herself and it is apparent that Alba is not capable of handling the intricate work of a wedding dress. I can heartily say all of those days were a waste of my time and I wish I made a different decision from the start. Besides the outcome of the dress, she is completely unprofessional. She has made my whole family and me extremely uncomfortable and has made me cry several times. Her demeanor was rude, condescending, and uncontrollably defensive. I am writing this review to save someone else from experiencing an awful time during a soon-to-be bride’s already stressful time.I can not warn you enough to not use this seamstress.
