Best wedding cake ever! Highly recommend!

WOW! The wedding cake for my daughter and son-in-law's wedding was amazing!!! We have had several people ask where we got the cake from - they’ve never tasted cake so moist and delicious at a wedding before! I hadn’t either! It’s amazing how she got the layers to stack so well with the cake so moist. Very talented! It was so beautiful! My daughter had a great experience with the taste testing of all of the flavors and fillings - all of them, they were not limited to just 3 flavors as they previously had been with another bakery. A wonderful experience working with Katherine! Definitely recommend!!

Katherine’s confections

My husband and I enjoyed working with Katherine. We met Katherine at a wedding show in Richmond and got to sample her cake and we were hooked instantly. We initially had to postpone our wedding and Katherine was patient and worked with us. We finally got married in August of 2020 and Katherine produced the cake of our dreams. We still have people talking about our wedding cake to this day and how good it was. We highly recommend Katherine’s Confections for your wedding cake!

Best Wedding Cake!

I could not have made a better choice in having Katherine's Confections make my wedding cake. It was beyond what we wanted for design and it was so delicious! We had some family members who ate 4 pieces alone! Katherine knocked it out of the park and we will be using her for every party! She made the process so simple and fun!

Great cake

Ms Katherine was wonderful to work with. She was very thorough in explaining things and making suggestions during the tasting. We had 4 different cake flavors and each one was delicious. Everyone enjoyed it!

Best cake ever

Katherine’s cakes are amazing! The flavor is out of this world. My wife and I loved our wedding cake! My wife is a tad bit extra, but our cake came out amazing! The attention to detail was top notch! The cake was a show stopper! If you’re looking for the best cake possible, go see Katherine! Thank you for making our wedding cake amazing! We love you so much!

Katherine is so very talented. We scheduled a tasting with her and there were so many flavor options. The samples were moist and tasted amazing. She was so sweet and knowledgeable. I couldn't of asked for a better person to have provided my wedding cake and cupcakes. They looked amazing and tasted as they looked. Hands down the absolute best choice to use for your special day.

Hands down Katherines was the best choice for our sweets for our wedding day. To me she is local so it was nice being able to go to her office and handle any question or concern I had instead of trying to figure it out over the phone. The samples she gave us for our tasting were amazing even many days later when we had them after dinner so to me that says her cakes are made the right way. She is so creative and knew exactly what vision I had for my cake and I got to see all of her hard work on my wedding day.

Katherine is wonderfully talented! What delicious cakes! She was so easy to work with from the beginning. Our florist recommended that we meet with Katherine, and we immediately booked Katherine after our tasting with her. We ended up with three flavors (sour cream vanilla, red velvet, and almond) - all amazing! The day of our wedding, Katherine and her niece decorated the cake with fresh flowers from our florist - it was beautiful and exactly what we envisioned. We received several compliments from our guests on how delicious and pretty the cake was. THANK YOU! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Her cake and cupcakes were absolutely adorable, and they taste even better than they look! We had Katherine make our cake look like tree stumps and she absolutely nailed our vision. She also put adorable little sunflowers on our cupcakes and did I mention that I've never had better cake before?!

Our wedding cake from Katherine was absolutely fantastic! I met Katherine at the Wedding Expo and set up an official tasting with her after my sister and mom told me her samples at the expo were some of the best they had ever tasted. The tasting was so amazing it was hard to pick a flavor! Luckily we were able to choose multiple flavors and the end result was fantastic. Katherine was also able to make one of the layers maroon and orange (Go Hokies!).

Katherine made our wedding cake and it was absolutely amazing, it looked great and tasted great!

During our initial consultation, my husband and I enjoyed every second of the tasting and allowed us to sample every type of option available. Katherine also listened to our vision for the cake and the final product the day of was exactly what we wanted!

Katherine is so easy to work with and her cakes are the best!

My cake was custom made to fit my big day! She incorporated a very heavy wedding cake topper of my choosing and made it fit perfectly and beautifully! We ate a piece of our cake recently for our wedding anniversary and it was just as good as the day of!!! Highly recommended!!!

When my husband and I got engaged, we had no idea who we wanted to make our wedding cake, until my mom and I went to the Richmond Wedding Expo and had Katherine's cake. It had all of us talking about how delicious her little cupcakes were, and so perfectly moist!

So I quickly set up a time to meet with Katherine for a tasting with my mom and fiancé. She had so many cake flavors, icings and fillings to choose from, truly something for everyone, and they were all amazing. Jaw-dropingly good! It was so hard narrowing down flavors but we picked alternating layers of spice cake and vanilla for our fall wedding, and the design that Katherine came up with right off the bat was everything I had dreamed my wedding cake would be. I couldn't believe that it was coming true! And Katherine's pricing is so incredibly reasonable -- I was expecting what I wanted to cost 3x what it actually did, and we probably would have paid 3x what we did. She's THAT good!

Our expectations were far exceeded by Katherine's pure talent, and I cannot wait to eat the top tier of our cake on our 1 year anniversary! I will always recommend Katherine's Confections.

Katherine was the best!!! She gives you such a wide selection of flavors of cake and icing/filling to choose from. She drew out our ideas for the design during our meeting and definitely nailed it with the finished product! I think it was a bit complicated but I loved how she executed it! I feel like she can really do anything with cake! She was so pleasant to work with. Also, the wedding cake was so delicious! Sometimes when you go the weddings, the cake is pretty but the flavor doesn't do it justice. Her cakes and buttercream icing are incredible and the cake itself is so moist! I would definitely recommend her!!!

Our cake from Katherine's Confections was awesome. It was so beautiful and really delicious. My husband, my dad, and I met with Katherine for the initial consultation and tasting. She spent time to go over designs for the cake, showing us examples and in the end sketching a picture for us. She was great at making my Dad feel included. She then provided us with probably 12 different flavors to sample and 4 or 5 fillings and sent us home with extras to sample again later to make out final decisions. Katherine was completely fine with us making our cake different flavors in different layers. We ended up deciding on almond, chocolate, and coconut lime for our three layers that were served at the wedding. All of the flavors were incredible. We picked chocolate coconut for our top layer and are excited to taste it on our anniversary.

Our cake was for 102 servings.

Katherine was great during our cake selection! We fell in love with the variety during the cake tasting. We changed our cake design a couple of months before the wedding and she didn't skip a beat! The cake was so moist and flavorful. The icing and filling was to die for. The Cake itself was absolutely beautiful! We will be calling on Katherine again for future events!

I was extremely impresses with the quality and service of the Wedding Cake & Cupcakes that I was provided by Katherine's Confections. Not only were the cupcakes a completed hit (we had not a single cupcake left after the wedding & everyone raved about them) but the display and decorations were exactly how I imagined them to look. Katherine is wonderful to work for and very talented in her creations not only in appearance but also in taste! My guests enjoyed the cupcakes and I am so happy we had some leftovers after our wedding to enjoy. The top tier will be saved for our first wedding anniversary and I am looking forward to cutting into it already. I will definitely recommend Katherine to any future bride (friend/family).

Katherine did such a fantastic job with our wedding cake! I was an out of town bride and she always made the time and effort to work with my availability. I changed the cake design a few weeks out and she was very helpful in giving additional options and opinions. The cake turned out exactly how I wanted it to look and it tasted amazing! Katherine baked a beautiful five tier black, white and gold cake for my December 5, 2015 wedding. For our initial meeting Katherine had a vast array of cakes, icings and fillings for the tasting. She also gave us a hefty serving of samples to take home. The design process was a collaborative effort but it was mostly our ideas with her expertise on how to make it most attractive and efficient with regard to servings. We made some minor changes after the initial meeting with no push back. She was very patient and helpful. We saw the finished product on the big day and it was everything we wanted it to be. It was gorgeous on the outside and, moist and delicious on the inside. I took some leftovers to work that Tuesday and it was still moist. Even my co-workers were impressed. She was also the most reasonably priced of all the pastry chefs we'd spoken with. I highly recommend Katherines Confections!

Katherine's cakes are moist, light, and very delicious. They are not too sweet, and she offers many flavor options for the cake and filling. Plus the tasting at her home is so much fun.

Oh my GOD! Katherine knocked it out the box with my wedding cake! I came to her with a special design in mind and with pictures and she made my dream wedding cake come true! On top of that, the cake was absolutely delicious! I am so glad Katherine was available to be able to make my cake for my reception! She is excellent to work with, can pull off a grand design to perfection, and makes the MOST delicious cakes! I had Katherine do my wedding cake and my groom's cake (which was a Batman cake). The cakes were beautiful and stunning in appearance and taste! I even saved some cake for me to take with me on my honeymoon and I can't wait to get at the top layer when we have our first year anniversary! Everyone raved about the cake and I will be ordering another one as soon as I can! Thanks Katherine for doing such a fabulous job! I will be coming to you from now on for all my designer cake needs!

Katherine's Confections is AWESOME! She makes beautiful and delicious cakes! My wedding was June 13, 2015 and I could not have been more happy about our cake. It was gorgeous and fit our theme very well. She is the best around in my opinion. Doing it all from her home. You will NOT be disappointed if you hire Katherine! Katherine has such a sweet personality and is so easy to work with! Our cake turned out beautifully (and deliciously!!). Katherine made each of the four layers of our cake four different flavors with four different fillings and even arranged fresh flowers cascading around the cake and piped our initials in icing centered on the second layer. It looked absolutely gorgeous! Also, her prices are extremely reasonable compared to so many other bakers and she was a joy to work with! I can't recommend her enough!!

Katherine made my wedding cake vision turn into the most delicious reality! From the day of the tasting to the day of the wedding Katherine was pleasant, punctual and professional. The cake was absolutely gorgeous, and I can't believe how incredible it tasted. Our guests gave it rave reviews. We were going to save the top layer for our first anniversary, but it was so awesome that we couldn't wait and had it for my birthday a month later!

Katherine is AMAZING! I knew this was the company I would go with when I FINALLY tasted a cake that was moist during our countless cake company testings. All of her cake flavors were delicious (and her fillings - OMG) and she was willing to make any flavor we wanted that wasn't offered in her traditional flavors. She was also the first cake vendor to make the cake vision in my head come to life on paper! Our wedding cake was gorgeous and delicious! I highly recommend!

Katherine won me over from our very first conversation! Her tone was one of complete understanding and availabilty to make the cake that I desired. I sent her a photo of what I wanted and we were on our way. Her cup cakes are beautiful and provided the type of cake serving I wanted and still had the three tiered cake as my center piece. She even went way out of her way to fufill a dietary request for a guest. Accomodating, kind and professional, that is the service Katherine's Confections provide.

I am so happy my husband and I were able to have Katherine make our wedding cake! She was so wonderful to work with, very flexible and her cakes are absolutely amazing!! Almost everyone was asking who made our cake and if we still had any left over from our wedding (lol). We had a three tier cake, with yellow and French vanilla flavoring which was to die for! Very simple and elegant design, and she made it look beautiful. I recommend her to everyone!

Working with Katherine has been amazing! She is so professional and prompt. The cake tasted amazing and looked beautiful. We have been married for a couple months and our guests are still talking about the cake :)

Katherine's cakes and the selection are the best you will find! My guest list was right at 200. I opted for cupcakes. Her combinations are amazing. We had two towers. The grooms cake was Chocolate w/ Peanut Butter. For the Wedding Cake I chose a variety of flavors with buttercream frosting. She is such a delite to work with and made the selection process easy. I will be using her again whenever I need a cake or want more cupcakes like those we had for the wedding:).

Katherine was not only amazing to work with but definitely had the best cakes BY FAR. We went to about 5 other cake baker's and no one could hold a candle to her cakes. She had SO MANY flavors and they were all so delicious! I showed her an example of the design i wanted and she did an even better job than what the picture looked like. I could not be happier with my choice!

Katherine was amazing to work with. I e-mailed her pictures of what I wanted and she executed it perfectly. She said she hadn't done an ombre cupcake design before and it came out perfectly. Her cupcakes were so delicious that I did not receive 1 at my reception! People were raving about them and they loved that there were different flavors. I highly recommend Katherine!! Thank you so much for the best wedding cake ever!

Our wedding cake was probably one of my favorite things about our wedding day! Katherine made the cake I was imagining come alive! It was far more beautiful and delicious than I could have ever imagined. Our guests ranted and raved about how pretty it was and how great it tasted. From the time I met her at the bridal expo and tasted the samples, I knew Katherine was the one I wanted to make my wedding cake! She met with me more than once to ensure that the cake was going to be perfect. If you are looking for someone to make your cake for a wedding or special occasion, look no further! Katherine's Confections made picking out the perfect cake for our wedding the easiest part of the whole wedding planning experience. She has the BEST cake we have ever tasted and our guest would agree. The finished product exceeded our expectations. People are still asking us who made our cake!

Katherine did a dynamite job on my wedding wants and needs in the cake department! Not only did I ask for every flavor cake I liked, but then had her do different size cupcakes and fillings and foils and more! Katherine was so professional she didn't even flinch when I kept adding to my list. She had my cake and cupcakes in place the day of my wedding and never had to call for reminder information. If you want awesome service and a cake or cupcakes the way you want them at a reasonable price and personal attention to detail...Katherine's Confections is where you order your cake! Unlike the larger Bakeries, Katherine gave suggestions but did not limit what I could design for my special day.

This lady makes delicious cakes. I mean they are better than those secret family recipe cakes.

She is very sweet and very talented. My cake looked and tasted flawless!

Katherine was great to work with! She was easy to talk with when we met to discuss what I wanted and she had a wide variety of samples for me to try and take home. Our cake turned out exactly as we envisioned and it was delicious. We received so many compliments from our guests!

When I met Katherine at the wedding show, and tasted her cake, I knew she would be the one to bake our cake for the wedding. During the consultation she was very pleasant and presented us with 13 variety of flavors to taste. She advised us whatever we wanted for the cake that she could and would make it happen. Anytime I had a question she was quick to respond in a very timely manner.When we got to the reception I was so anxious to see the cake because I already knew it was going to be beautiful. The cake looked exactly how I imagined it, it was fabulous and we were in awe!!!. The cake was delicious and we received tons of compliments on the appearance and the taste. I would definately recommend Katherine to friends and family and I can't wait to use her services for my upcoming baby shower or our new baby's first birthday, Thanks for everything!!!!

I was so extremely happy with the cakes, service and quality of Katherine's Confections. Everyone loved the cakes so much we had NONE left even though we bought more than we should have needed - so I have ordered us cupcakes in each of the 3 flavors to enjoy on our one month anniversary! The cakes were just as delicious as on sample day, Katherine really worked with me on the design of both the wedding and groom's cake (which was a Steeler uniform with our name on it) and allowed me to change quantities slightly a week before when we realized our guest count had changed due to receiving of late RSVPs. Would HIGHLY recommend, you will not beat the taste, service or value anywhere else!!! People could not believe how much cake I got for the price, and I was very pleased with the final amount due as well.

Katherine was recommended to us by another baker who was unable to work with us on our wedding date. From the beginning she was great to work with. The cake is delicious, and a great value for what you get! I also ordered a grooms cake from her as well in a UNC basketball theme and it was amazing.

I had a calla lilly theme and wanted a cake to match but not the traditional wedding cake. I went to Katherine with my idea and picture and she gladly accepted the challenge! When I saw my cake, I became so teary...it was PERFECT!!!! The cake was soooo good...I still have guests asking if there is leftover cake!!!! I HIGHLY recommed Katherine!

I would recommend this business for any type of cake . The Lady is very professional and excellent at what she does and makes a good product , and is easy to get along with and prices are reasonable also .

Katherine's cakes are amazing, I was hesitant about a home wedding cake maker but she had all the necessary equipment in her kitchen. She was very professional and I have to say her cakes were outstanding, the artistic value was of a very high quality and I plan to order a sample cake every July wedding anniversary and eat more cake. I will call upon her for other special occasions in my family as we move forward to eat more cake! Delicious, delectable, beautifully crafted! Everyone at the wedding commented on her cake.

Katherine is wonderful, and her cakes are so beautiful and tasty! Wedding cakes are expensive, but hers are worth what you pay. She has tons of flavors to choose from, and you can do cakes, cupcakes, mini cupcakes, etc. to get the look you want. I would recommend Katherine's Confections to anyone!

Emails were lost temporarily causing a lack of response for a period of time. Also the flavor of my grooms' cake was not documented causing me to be asked the week of my wedding which was a little concerning. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed my cupcakes and grooms' cake, and I'm looking forward to cutting my topper in a year!
