June 1st Wedding in DR

Karina was an amazing photographer that captured ever special moment. She was thoughtful and patient with our crazy family. My husband ended up being really ill the day of our wedding due to spending too much time in the day before. He was unable to take as many pictures as we would have like. Karina was great she scheduled a new shoot for us in the house the next day. She took us out to the country side in DR and we just had fun. It was an amazing experience. I couldn’t possibly have asked for a better photographer. Attached is one of my favorite photos from the photo shoot the next day.

Punta Cana Family photos

Karina was so GREAT to work with! She was extremely flexible with our family vacation schedule. We got burned from the powerful punta Cana sun the first day so she waited to take our photos the last day. The photo session was a ton of fun! She had us jumping- tickling each other- bumping butts- and splashing each other. We just received the photos and they exceeded my expectations. She has an incredible talent in photography and I highly recommend her for photos!

Karina and her team are THE dream team. They were able to capture the most beautiful pictures for our rehearsal and wedding day. It was extremely important to capture these special moments with our families and friends coming from many different part of the world as this was one of a lifetime trip. Karina made us feel super comfortable, reminded us every time she got a chance to enjoy our night as much as we can, encourage us to live in the moment, while managing to capture these moments.
I will forever be thankful to her and her team for being part of the best weekend of our lives.

Karina is absolutely amazing. We were married in Punta Cana this past May and she went above and beyond to capture the most beautiful photos of our day. It was so important to us to have a great photographer given some family and friends couldn't make it and we would rely on photos so heavily. She EXCEDED our expectations from the minute she and her assistant arrived to the moment we received our photos. She has an eye for viewing people in their natural, comfortable, "un-posed" state. Words really cannot describe how perfect Karina was, but we will try. Karina Jensen was so much more than just our photographer throughout the wedding day. She started with us at our resort for pictures, and since we would not meet with our planner until later on in the afternoon, Karina basically stepped in as our day of coordinator as well. She helped keep us on schedule, she made sure to give us short breaks throughout all the pictures to enjoy ourselves, she even fixed my veil each time it flew out of my hair. She is one of the sweetest people we have ever met in our lives, not just from our wedding. In regards to the photography itself, her work is absolutely stunning and the process was so easy and so much fun. Karina does her best to capture natural moments, which we found so much better than the usual photographers we are used to who have you stand like statues and fake a smile at the camera over and over. Karina has a mind full of jokes and funny prompts that made us laugh and smile all naturally. We never fault awkward at all because of the environment she created and this reflected in the pictures as well. We realized how different a real smile looks from a forced one in photographs. Karina was also so creative with positioning and playing around with things like the veil, that all of the pictures were very cool and artistic. Karina is overall one of the best people we have ever dealt with and I think anyone would be foolish not to choose her for their wedding!

We loved Karina's work from the moment we started looking at photographers in Punta Cana and as soon as I started speaking to her, I knew straight away that she was the photographer for us! Words cannot describe how amazing she was. She put us at ease the whole time and it turned out that one of our favourite parts of the wedding day was having photos, just the 2 of us, after the ceremony. And we really do not normally enjoy having photos taken! Karina completely made us feel at ease and we didn't feel like we had a camera in our face all day, which meant we could act completely natural, and our photos show that! We also had a photoshoot a few days after the wedding. Karina picked us up and took us to her favourite spots. My husband even let her try his drone...and he lets noone use that, so he definitely trusted Karina haha! If you choose Karina, you most certainly will not be disappointed! She exceeded our expectations!!

Karina is an amazing photographer and person. I love her eye and use of natural light. She's very professional and friendly , and really captures the moment. Karina is an absolutely outstanding photographer and we just loved working with her! I am so happy we made the decision to bring her on, I knew I would of forever regretted it had we not. I love her airy, romantic style of photography - we have received our pictures and there are just so many jaw-dropping favorites! Photos were ready as promised and easily accessible. Karina is great at giving you the perfect amount of guidance while allowing you to be yourself & enjoy the experience. I can’t say photo sessions are our favorite thing in the world, especially for my husband, but our day after photo session was actually a lot of fun! Most importantly Karina is a super reliable, honest, and hard working photographer who is in photography for the right reasons - I don’t want to get into specifics, but Karina genuinely loves her job and will make sure that nothing short of her best effort represents her with every couple (and of course she is so talented)!!!

KARINA IS BY FAR AMAZING!!
November 4th 2017, was by far the best day ever!
To be able to look back at your wedding through the amazing pictures that Karina was able to capture is beyond amazing.

If there is anything more than important to have on your wedding day is to have someone from the outside to be able to calm you down.
My pictures won’t show it but I was a little of mess with running behind schedule possible ran this and that.
But Karina was able to calm me down and we took it from there and pictures were more than I could ask for.

Our wedding consisted of 80 guests. And a bridal party of 14 adults and 3 children so trying to round us all up and organized was a little overwhelming but she had nothing but patience and understanding with us.

The mixture of candid, natural, portrait pictures were beyond our expectations which were already super high (I mean have you seen her work!! It’s simply amazing)

If you haven't already booked with Karina… IT’S A MUST!!!

We booked venue and Karina second!

We also did the Sunrise Photo shoot!

Your wedding pictures are going to be gorgeaous but in order to have some more intatmiate photos with your now Husband, you MUST consider the Sunrise Photoshoot!

Karina was amazing from start to finish! I keep telling my friends and family that she was the best decision we made through out the whole wedding planning process. She goes above and beyond for you to feel special and important on your special day. My husband and I are not usually comfortable in front of a camera but she made us feel so calm and at ease. Karina felt more like family that day than our photographer!
When we got our pictures after the wedding I was in love!!! Each and every photo was special and unique. She found a way to get pictures of all the guests which made me so happy since the day flies by and you don't get to spend much time with everyone. Even my guests commented on how fabulous she was!
Karina is so extremely talented and has a great personality. You will not regret having her as your photographer!

Karina was amazing from the get go. We emailed back and forth for months. I was trying to shop around for awhile but I always went back to her photos. When I met her in person, she was professional and she definitely put me at ease. She even did my hair!! Who can claim the photographer did their hair at their wedding? She was extremely flexible.

We just received our photos and while we're still going through them, they definitely look amazing and we couldn't be happier with the results. If you get married in the Dominican Republic, seriously consider Karina as your photographer. You won't be disappointed.

From the very first message between karina and I to the delivery of my photos she has been nothing short of amazing. My photos are everything I hoped they would be and more, everyone in my wedding group which was 35 of us raved about her how friendly she was how great she was with them and how fantastic the pictures turned out! I can't recommend her enough and when we go back maybe for an anniversary I totally plan on hiring her to do a personal photo shoot with us again!!! If you are reading this review know that I spent about 2 months reading reviews on photographers when I finally emailed karina and everything after that was no regret and so happy I stumbled upon her page!! Karina was an outstanding resource for me during my wedding planning. Not only was she always prompt, kind and helpful with photography questions that I had but she also helped me with other planning issues that came with planning a destination wedding. We booked a pre-wedding trash the dress as well as the wedding day and as soon as I met her it felt like we had always been friends. She has this amazing personality that everyone at our wedding loved. My friends seriously asked if she could come home with us. My photos came out absolutely stunning. Karina has this amazing eye and an easy going way about her that doesn't make you feel weird about posing in evening wear, on a beach, in front of a ton of gawkers in bikinis. Hiring Karina was absolutely the best decision that my husband and I made when we decided to have a destination wedding. From the very first reply from her, I knew she was the one I wanted to work with. She is perfection. Fun, genuine, relaxed and just a beautiful soul that I am so grateful to have met. She made photo-taking so much easier for us. Our photos look like they belong in a magazine and I can't stop looking at them. Karina has a great eye for the perfect shots and making it look and feel natural.

We were lucky enough to also book a Trash the Dress session a couple days after the wedding. Karina picked us up at our resort and took us to 2 different spots for pictures. It was an amazing afternoon that I felt so lucky to have been able to spend with her!

When I was searching online for a photographer I came across Karina's work and I was in awe. I love her soft, romantic style! Choosing Karina as my photographer was one of the best decisions. She was very responsive in her emails which was super important for me. On the wedding day, she made me feel at ease because she had everything under control. We got along so well and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my photos. Not only is she a great photographer, she is such a fun, free spirited person. We had to change the date of the Trash The Dress because we weren’t feeling well and she was so flexible which I appreciated. Where do I even start? When we started planning our wedding, we knew that photography was THE most important thing to get right. There are several different styles of photography out there, and you need to pic the photographer that matches your style. Karina was exactly that. The moment I saw her pics online, I knew she was the one for us. I emailed her and she responded right away. Before I knew it, we were emailing back and forth like we were old friends. Karina was an absolute pleasure to work with, communicating with her before the wedding was easy and she responded promptly to any questions or concerns we had. Karina Jensen was absolutely fantastic!!! I came across Karina on a Bridal Facebook page where I was immediately taken away by her soft and romantic style, her creativity and her eye for detail. I was mesmerized.
Her pictures to me, and later when I showed them to my fiance, really captured genuine natural emotion, it wasn't that "say cheese" expression that you sometimes see.
Right from our first contact, we knew immediately, that she was the photographer that would capture our moments in time to best tell our story.
She was very helpful with any questions that we had whilst planning and that wasn't limited to the photography.
She happily shared her experiences, insight and knowledge to help guide us through the wonderful world of planning a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic.
She was also very helpful in working with us within our budget. She helped us put together a package in our currency (Canadian dollars) that suited our needs and wishes.
When we met Karina for the first time in the DR, it felt like we were meeting a long time friend - she was so genuine, and fun to work with...always with her camera at the ready! She helped us relax, and embraced our day and has also already sent us a great number of sneak peeks from the big day - we are excited to see the rest :-)

Karina was our wedding photographer for 10/11/2015 wedding at Huracan Café. I can put into words how amazing this woman is. Out of all my wedding vendors, she is my absolute favorite. She even became my wedding planner at times as I bounced ideas off her. The quality of her work is exceptional! My husband and I are beyond pleased with our pictures. She has replied within good time, she is very friendly and helpful. We arrived in Punta Cana to get married at the Jellyfish Restaurant. We had been there a few days when we were hit by a tropical storm. Our wedding day was postponed and Karina was absolutely brilliant. She phoned me and kept my spirits up. Karina's positive attitude was just what I needed. The morning of my wedding was a little bit stressful. We were running behind on hair and make up and it was hard to not worry. But then Karina walked in, she was like a breath of fresh air. She greeted me with a warm, genuine hug and I instantly felt better. She was so excited to see my dress, her energy and excitement picked us all up. All day Karina was amazing, i felt like she was part of my bridal party. All of my guests loved her. I feel that she went above and beyond on our wedding day. We also booked a trash the dress shoot with Karina the day after our wedding at sunset. It was much needed alone time with my husband and very fun. We would recommend this to anyone. After a couple of weeks Karina sent us a few sneak peaks of our wedding day and just wow. We couldn't stop looking at them. They are so natural and elegant just like I knew they would be. Our photos are stunning and memories we will treasure forever. I cannot thank you enough Karina. You really made our wedding day and we have the most beautiful photos. They really take us back to our day, they give us goosebumps, make us smile, make us laugh and cry. You are a very beautiful lady inside and out. We will always be forever grateful, thank you.

I am so thankful we found a photographer as talented and kind as Karina to capture such a special day! She was more than accommodating with every request we had. Karina is soooo talented with photography. Everyone in our family raved about our photos. She did an awesome job and was very professional. Having seen Karinas work previously, we flew her to Mallorca to shoot our wedding. She was so active on the day, running from one apartment to the other to capture the whole process. Jeg er stor fan av Karina Jensen photography. Mitt første møte med Karinas arbeid var da jeg så et utdrag bilder hun hadde hatt av et nyforlovet kjærestepar. Man kunne med en gang kjenne seg igjen i gleden, forventningen og forelskelsen dette paret følte. Karina covered both our wedding in Copenhagen in june and the following party in the south of Norway in september 2014.

I loved the photos that Karina took of our wedding! That was exactly the look we were looking for. She was the first vendor I booked after deciding on the venue since photography was very important to us.

My only regret was not hiring her longer to capture more of the reception (she did end up staying longer than anticipated though since our speeches ran a tad long).

We also hired her for the trash the dress session. I definitely recommend that. It was a lot of fun, cleaned my dress and even more pictures to love from the very talented Karina!

Karina Jensen was beyond incredible! She was not just a photographer for our wedding, but was a friend and an advocate. She made sure to ask if there were any specific photos we wanted, and she made sure she got them all. She was laid back, fun to be around, made us feel extremely comfortable and at ease, at all times. She was creative, artistic, and was always thinking and looking for the next best shot. All of our guests were impressed by Karina as well! They came up to us the following day to tell us how she was awesome, professional, and extremely friendly. We now have a large variety of photos and soooooo many to choose from, all of which were beyond amazing!!!

We chose to have a trash the dress shoot the next morning and didn’t want similar photos to the resort we were married at. Karina picked us up that morning and took us 5 minutes down the road for another incredible photo shoot. If we could have Karina here with us we would have her photograph all of our life and family milestones. She is incredible and you would be missing an opportunity to work with a wonderful person and gifted photographer!

For us Karina stood out from the rest of the photographers. She has an amazing ability to capture "that" perfect moment in her imagery. She thinks outside of the box, so you don't end up with a set of photos that are run of the mill and copy cat of so many wedding albums!
Karina wasn't just the photographer on our day, she felt like one of our guests, always happy to help with extra tasks and even ending up being one of our witnesses on the day :). Nothing was too much trouble.
Our photos were stunning and even ended up being published in the Norwegien Wedding Blog!

Karina was absolutely wonderful! On the day of our wedding I felt like she was more than just our photographer her warm presents and helpfulness made us feel like she was a family friend there to lend a helping hand. She was amazing with our requests and her prices are more than fair. It was a pleasure having her capture our wedding...everyone loved the pictures (absolutely blog worthy).

Some advise for brides would be to be patient and relax...especially if you're having a destination wedding. During the course of my wedding planning we communicated exclusively through email and while it may have taken a few days for her to return an email...I always knew I was in great hands.

I will forever be grateful and am honored to have had Karina shoot my wedding. She was simply the best!!!

Karina was awesome! LOVE LOVE LOVE our wedding pictures!! I fell in love with her journalistic style once I saw her pictures and she did not disappoint! Our wedding day was captured so perfectly with many candid photos (which I love). She was so helpful throughout the planning process even answering questions that were not related to photography. She was so personable, easy to work with and was so helpful during our wedding when our dominican dancers were late. She went above and beyond to talk to the owner, etc so that I can enjoy my time my family and friends instead of worrying about the dancers. Karina Jensen was our photographer and we couldn't have been happier.

I wanted a photo-journalistic approach, where the story and emotion of the moment popped off of the photo. I wanted artistic photos that would capture the special details of the day. I also wanted classic photos to capture my new husband and loved ones. Not only were her photos emotional, creative and beautiful but she was also fun to work with. Her caring and positive attitude comes through the moment you meet her.

We booked Karina for our wedding day and the next day for a "trash the dress session". This was a lot of fun and the most relaxing part of our trip. She drove us around to different locations taking photos of us. It felt like we were being toured around by a good friend.

My husband is a photographer himself so when we were looking for a photographer to shoot our wedding, we were super picky. I was having a hard time choosing a photographer for my destination wedding in Punta Cana. Many of the other photographers' websites showed very cheesy, corny, unnatural looking photos with the bride and groom in very forced, stiff poses. As soon as I browsed through Karina's website and blog, I knew immediately that I had to hire her for my wedding. Karina and her assistant photographer were amazing to work with. She kept in constant contact with me before I traveled to Punta Cana for my wedding as well as after my trip home. My wedding photos turned out lovely. She was able to capture everything, from the natural beauty of the beach setting to our friends and family dancing the night away during the reception. And the best part is, she was reasonably priced for her work! I would recommend her to anyone!

Karina was super sweet from the moment I reached out to her. We solidified the date and had little communication until a few weeks before the wedding. She brought an extra photographer the day of because she wanted to make she captured everything. I loved the way Karina moved around - when I got my pictures back I could tell she captured the essence of the day and really authentic moments. Karina only uses natural light which made every picture look absolutely gorgeous. My husband and I wanted really artistic photo/videos and I think we accomplished that with hiring Karina. I am honestly SOO happy at what she was able to do in 8 hours.

Words can not describe that love I have for our photographer. It can be hard to make a connection with someone when they're in another country from you when you're looking for a vendor but not with Karina. She was so sweet and excited for your wedding day from day one. Super professional and open to talk about your ideas and desire for the photos.

Karina and Maxi(her assistant) truly capture the love felt on our wedding day in the photos. All our laughter and tears captured for us to look back on. Our wedding day went super smooth she works so well with every vendor we used. Arrived on time and early.

We had a small miscommunication about our rock the dress session and she did everything in her power to fix it. I think that speaks volumes for what a professional she is and her commintment to make sure her clients are 100% happy.

I can not recommend Karinas photography services enough. Worth every penny and more! Our photos are stunning and magazine worthy.

I am soooo beyond happy with our pictures! Karina has captured the air and love from our special day! She captured our family, our love, our smiles, and the beach location that we wanted. I would highly recommend her for your shoot, she has a special eye for the key things you might forget about in the hustle of the day. Such fun to work with and so easy!

Karina is absolutely wonderful to work with! She makes you feel so comfortable and is just great to be around! She got along great with everyone and felt like a part of group! Not only is she great to work with but she definitely has an eye for photography and her work is amazing! She is very affordable for the quality of work she does and is very flexible with her services! I hope to work with her again someday and would highly recommend her for any future brides or grooms!

Karina shot our wedding in Punta Cana on May 20, 2017. We are from Pennsylvania and when we made the decision to get married in Punta Cana, I was on a mission to find the perfect local photographer (because we couldn't afford to bring one from the states). I knew I wanted someone with a light and airy style of photography and as soon as I came across Karina in my search, I knew she was the one! Her photos immediately captured me, her style was full of natural light with a bright, airy and cheery feel. Leading up to our wedding, Karina was very responsive and communicative. On the day of the wedding she showed up at our resort and immediately got to work, shooting pictures from the moment she walked in the door. Karina is so fun and easy to work with. If you're not comfortable in front of the camera, she can ease your nerves and make it fun! Karina learned early on of my love for palm trees and took that very seriously by incorporating them into as many of our photos as possible. Karina stayed and took photos over the allotted time that we paid her for so we really appreciate that! She was able to capture photos of the late night party which are really fun. I would just warn anyone considering Karina that her turnaround is quite long, we didn't receive our photos until 12 weeks after our wedding. The wait was worth, however! We're so happy with our 2,000+ photos from our special day! Anyone planning a wedding in Punta Cana, drop everything you're doing and book Karina now! She's truly amazing!! THANK YOU KARINA!!!!!

We were nervous to find a great "local" photographer in the Dominican Republic, and I felt like we hit the lottery with Karina. Her photography style is gorgeous and natural. She was able to capture the emotion and pure joy of our wedding celebration in such an authentic manner, yet directed us when needed to make sure that things came across nicely on camera. We are more than thrilled with our photos. Karina makes you feel comfortable and blends right in with the crowd (despite her awesome red hair!). Most of our guests who have seen our photos commented how great she was and never "got in the way." She is a busy woman and like with nearly all experiences we had with communication on the island, allow a little time. But be confident that she will follow through and deliver an amazing portfolio for you... making you look FABULOUS. I hope that we will have the opportunity to work with Karina again!

Absolutely the BEST!

I cannot express how grateful I am that Karina was our photographer. My husband and I are from the US and we had our destination wedding in La Romana, DR, which Karina drove from Punta Cana to attend. She has surpassed all my expectations of a photographer. She was so genuine and kind throughout the time she was with us, especially with our two year old daughter. She works so well with natural lighting and pure emotions. The only issue that arose was her responsiveness through email. It was tricky getting a hold of her via email but once I messaged her on other social media outlets, she was quicker to respond. I would HIGHLY recommend Karina as a photographer for wedding, engagement sessions, etc. She is absolutely amazing!!

Karina was an amazing photographer, we were so thankful to have her as part of our big day. She was very flexible and professional. She captured so many magical moments from getting ready to the actual wedding to our private photo shoot. I loved that she was able to catch so many candid moments as well as the little details. The quality of the pictures was amazing. We received all of our unedited pictures the day after the wedding in the most precious lace coverex box. She then sent us a link to the edited pictures shortly after the wedding. My only complaint is that there were some times where it was difficult to get in touch with Karina, that being said she was always in contact when it mattered most. Everything was amazing and I would love to hire Karina again for a fun photo shoot. My only regret is that we didn't have her services for more time, Karina captured all the important moments but I would have loved to have her at our reception. I highly recommend Karina and encourage everyone to get as much time with her as you can, you will not be disappointed!

Karina was amazing. She was very easy to communicate with and very responsive. I was worried at first since I was planning a destination wedding and obviously coordinating from far away is quite hard at times. Karina responded to emails in a very timely manner and kept me at ease. Closer to the wedding she has a little problem with her server and wasn't able to respond to emails but she but definitely made it up to me at the end. On the day of the wedding she was super easy to work with and very professional!

10 Months After Wedding and Still No Video

My daughters wedding was May 2024 in DR and we still have not received the video of the wedding. We have sent NUMEROUS e-mails asking for it and an update. Early on she responded that it was almost done and now she has ghosted us. They also "forgot" the drone that was supposed to shoot the wedding. We found that out on the wedding day. Huge Bummer. Today, we see her website shows a review that we "wrote" about the breathtaking video. We did not write this and have never received the video.

Difficult to deal with

We had to make the tough decision to cancel our wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Karina showed no understanding and refused to refund even a portion of our deposit.
