Absolute must have!

We chose Karen because she photographed one of our best friends' weddings, and it was gorgeous! We are so glad we went with Feder Photography. Karen is absolutely AMAZING! From the first email to our first virtual call, then to our wedding day, she was very communicative and willing to work around crazy schedules. She makes taking pictures feel fun when it can feel tedious and overwhelming. When we did not know of any good locations to take engagement photos, she gave us a list of places she had used before to look at, which was great! During the whole process of engagement pictures to our wedding pictures, Karen made everyone feel comfortable (she is fantastic with kids). I truly do not have words to describe how wonderful Karen is. Karen definitely has a special spot in our hearts because of how phenomenal she made our experience! I will recommend her time and time again!!

Karen is amazing!

She was recommended to us through a friend and we’re SO glad she was able to be a part of our day. Karen made us feel so special since the minute we connected with her. She took the time to get to know us as a couple and made sure we felt comfortable in front of the camera starting with our engagement session. We were so pleasantly surprised when she got us our full gallery back in less than 2 weeks. Leading up to the wedding, Karen helped create our timeline to ensure we had enough time for pictures and made sure we discussed our “must have” shots and more! Day of, Karen was the best hype woman making us feel so comfortable and special! We received so many compliments of her from our wedding party, families, and guests. She had pictures up on Instagram before we even woke up the next day, a blog post with MANY sneak peeks up a few days later, and our FULL gallery done in under 2 weeks! Our pictures turned out better than we could have imagined and we are so happy we chose Karen to capture such a special time in our lives. Karen not only captured what moments looked like but captured the emotions of the day too. It is so easy to tell through her communication, demeanor, and work that she absolutely loves what she does. 100000% recommend!

Karen Shines!

Can I give 10 stars?? Karen is beyond incredible! Her positivity, joy and professionalism shine. We are beyond thrilled with the photos from our wedding! From start to finish she made the whole process so easy and straightforward. Her willingness to incorporate some unique elements into the day, and her eye for light and color are unmatched. We have had Karen photograph my family for years and there was no question on who we wanted for our wedding this fall. She had knowledge of the venue, first look locations, and scenic spots that would make our colors shine. The day was hot hot hot and she took it all in stride - her kindness and coolness even in the heat helped me stay calm on the busy day. I cannot recommend her enough! From early morning engagement shoots to walking down the aisle, I had total faith in her abilities and her skill. She truly knows how to capture a couple in their element and make their personality shine through the photos. Thank you thank you thank you Karen! We are so so grateful you were our photographer!

The best!

Karen is the best!! From our first meeting with her, we knew she would be an amazing photographer. We choose to do a sunrise engagement session in the fall and Karen took gorgeous pictures. At that time we would have never guessed what 2020 would bring but Karen was there to support our wedding plan changes. Fast forward to our wedding day when Karen caught every moment possible. She was so organized and efficient. Her photography skills captured all details. Guests commented weeks after our wedding how wonderful Karen was. I cannot thank her enough for her amazing work and highly recommend her!

Passionate, Personable, Organized, and all-around Amazing

Karen was everything we could have hoped for in a wedding photographer! Karen is truly exceptional. She is extremely talented, organized, personable, self-directing, and can charge and corral the troops when needed. Our wedding experience wouldn't have been the same without Karen capturing picturesque photos and making us feel at ease on our big day. She was a 10 out of 10 across the board, and if I could I'd give her an 11. We love you Karen!

Amazing Photographer and Best Experience

Karen was absolutely amazing to work with. She made my wedding day an unbelievably wonderful experience. From the moment me and my husband met her, she felt more like a friend that we were hanging out with. She made everyone feel comfortable and we had an amazing time and i am so happy that she was our photographer for our wedding. Not only was working with her amazing but the images of my day came out beautiful, and every time i look at them, i get chills of joy. She 100 percent captured the day beautifully, and is now the only person i trust with capturing special moments in my life, and i cannot say enough good things about her.

Highly recommend!

We LOVED Karen! She was absolutely phenomenal! She is the best photographer ever. Her photos were absolutely stunning and she was amazing to work with. She made us feel like she knew us forever from the second we met her. She is so kind, upbeat, efficient, and so much FUN! She was personal and professional throughout the whole wedding planning process to our wedding day. Our bridal party still tells us how much fun she was and how comfortable she made everyone! She captured every moment of our day. I can't say enough positive things about Karen. She did everything perfectly and I HIGHLY recommend her. If you are searching for a photographer, choose Karen! We are still living our wedding day through her photos. She is the absolute best!

Karen was more than just our photographer!

Karen went above and beyond what we were looking for on our wedding day. She was very professional, and thought about everything before we could even think of the ideas. Karen went above and beyond just being our photographer. The week before the wedding, we received a package in the mail from her. About a month after the wedding, we received another package in the mail, with our pictures and a jump drive, and some other goodies. We just received another package in the mail, for our first Christmas together. She went above and beyond just being our photographer. I got the vibe from her that she wasn't doing photographer just for the money, but she truly enjoys what she was doing, and loves getting to know all of her clients. We cannot wait to use her again in the future.

Fun, Professional, Creative

My husband and I hired Karen for our August 2018 wedding at the Hennepin Co. Courthouse, followed by photo shoot all around downtown Minneapolis. She was fun, friendly, and came up with great ideas and creative places for photographs. We wanted to keep our wedding extremely simple, but the one thing we decided to invest in was good photographs, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the photos that Karen did for us. She really captured the relaxed, loving tone of our day. I'd highly recommend her for any wedding, no matter how big or small!

Karen Feder captured our perfect day magically

Karen was absolutely amazing. Her personality shines when you meet her for the first time and even made my husband who HATES pictures have fun. She was efficient, professional, and above all talented.
I had exceedingly high expectations for our wedding photographer and Karen overwhelmingly exceeded them.
We had our photos back in one month (June wedding!!!!) which is unheard of. She took the time to ask what we really wanted captured from our day and made sure we had those things. She made pictures (hours of them) fun and easy. I cannot wait for the day we have little ones and can use her again and again for family photos.

Karen is the full package. We had an awesome experience. She was incredibly professional partnered with being very personable and fun. Amazing and Comfortable!

Karen was our wedding photographer - she was flexible with her package in a way that made sense to our situation, which we so appreciated.

Karen is professional and approachable, and provided helpful, open guidance that gave us peace of mind on a day that could have been a bit stressful! Karen made our day very special and captured moments we can always look back on. She is very personable and flexible. Karen was wonderful at communicating with us throughout our planning. We found Karen to be very organized and thorough, her timeline kept everything perfectly on track. From our first meeting, to our engagement photos, to our wedding day, we couldn't have asked for a better photographer than Karen! Being comfortable with the person that will be photographing you is extremely important, and with her, it seemed as if we had grown up as neighbors. Her enthusiasm and passion for making sure that the pictures look as beautiful as they can be is evident in every single one of our photos. We communicated frequently about what kind of locations we were looking at and she went and scouted out those places and places around it. She did an amazing job and I couldn't imagine having anyone else do our photography. She added so many personal touches that she incorporated into our engagement photos and our wedding photos! She captured our big day perfectly, knowing what angles to shoot and how the lighting would be in certain areas, at certain times of day, she did beautiful work! Thank you Karen!!!!!

Karen was absolutely OUTSTANDING to work with and I can whole heartedly say that her passion for people and photography is evident in her beautiful pictures and vibrant personality. From the very beginning Karen provided us with the guidance and resources needed to help us truly discover what it was that we wanted captured on our Wedding day- and the photos came out to be absolutely stunning. We were able to have fun, relax, and enjoy every moment with each other and our guests knowing that she had us fill out a 'wish list' beforehand that didn't let any 'must haves' go by the way-side. On top of all that I can also say Karen is responsible for my favorite memory of the day by spontaneously planning and surprising a moment for just Tyler and me to share… A dance by acoustic guitar on the courtyard under the lights where our reception had been rained out hours earlier. Karen is an amazing person and professional, and I highly recommend her and her team for anyone wanting the joy and emotions of their Wedding day captured for generation to come!

Karen is so easy to work with and she is truly passionate about her work. She has photographed many of our family and friend's weddings, including my second wedding. Each one has been very memorable thanks to her fine capturing of the day! My favorite thing about Karen is that she has such empathy and sees things many photographers don't. For example she captured my daughter's new husband wiping a tear off of her cheek during the wedding ceremony! That is a priceless memory and now we have a picture of it.

When we met with Karen for the first time, my daughter (who lives out of state) immediately connected with her. We cancelled our other upcoming meetings with photographers. Karen was fabulous to work with! This is the second time I have worked with her (I was a bridesmaid at a wedding for which she was the photographer a few years ago) and for both my wedding and my friend's wedding she was absolutely wonderful. She has a very warm, sincere, and supportive disposition that makes a person feel immediately at ease from the first meeting in which we discussed what we wanted for photos, through the actual wedding day when she kept myself and the rest of the wedding party calm when things got off track. She is wonderful with children, and coaxed my crying ring bearer to smile when he was tired and cranky. She is extremely kind and encouraging, and just a lovely woman. On top of it all, the photos were fantastic- I am beyond thrilled with the outcome. Her style matched exactly what I wanted, and she obviously took my wishes to heart. My husband and I could not be more pleased with our photos and receive compliments on them all the time.

I would recommend Karen time and time again, and hope to utilize her services for family portraits in the future. She is the best!

The only thing I should of had along for the wedding was the family list of people....so I would of made sure I had pictures with everyone.

Karen is awesome! I met her when she photographed a wedding in which I was a bridesmaid. I was impressed with her then, and even more impressed when I was the bride! She was thorough in preparing, making sure she had a good outline of the photos we didn't want her to miss. She was even flexible with her timeline the night of the wedding and was willing to extend her time if I needed her to!

I'm eternally grateful for Karen! She made the difference in our intimate wedding. She got me to step outside my comfort zone, and took charge when I was a bit like the "deer in the headlights." Our original photographer backed out a few weeks before the wedding so I asked a friend, who is into photography, if he new of anyone and he recommended Karen. Using her was possibly the best decision of our wedding. Karen was very professional, non-demanding, knew what she was doing, and was open to anything we wanted. The pictures turned out beautiful and we will be use her again!

Amazing work. Easy to work with. Karen was very friendly and accomodating. She had great ideas and generated beautiful work. Also took some of my ideas and executed them beautifullly. Her assistant was also very friendly and easy to work with. Karen also had very prompt work and always kept me in the loop where she was at in the photo publishing/finishing phase for both the engagement session and wedding photos. Karen was wonderful to work with. We live in Grand Forks and were married in the Cities, so we didn't meet Karen in person until our ceremony. She is very creative and had wonderful ideas. She and our videographer (whom she had never met or worked with) worked very well together and provided wonderful keepsakes of our ceremony.

Karen was absolutely amazing in every way possible! It has been almost a year since we got married and I still look at our photos at least once a week! We knew that our wedding photos were not something we wanted to "bargain shop" for and risk them turning out badly, but we couldn't afford the $5,000 packages that most highly recommended photographers were charging. Luckily we were referred to Karen Feder by our wedding planner and she was the best of both worlds! Her style was exactly what we were looking for and her pricing was very reasonable. She is a creative and talented professional in this field, and has a knack for capturing special moments! I recommend Karen to everyone and we will definitely be going back to her when we are ready to take baby photos!

Karen is very flexible, easy to get ahold of, responds quickly, is very personable, and is very professional. I received comments from parents of the flower girl and ring bearer of how kind and patient she was with the little ones when they were being a bit squirrely and not taking direction quickly. Karen photographed my sister's wedding in 2011, and I knew I would be using her services when I got engaged. We are very happy with her work and the beautiful photos we will have to last a lifetime.

Karen was awesome to work with. Super friendly (our friends and family really liked her too), very organized, and she helped us put together the timeline for the day. She was pretty unobtrusive during the wedding and reception, allowing her to get some good candid shots. She also came 1 hour before our contract started to take all the detail shots which was nice. One negative thing I felt after the wedding was that she didn't help enforce the timeline she'd helped us put together. We were so busy talking to people, so our dance ended up started 45 minutes late. I never communicated to her that we wanted her to help us with this, so that's partially my fault for assuming. She does include engagement photos in her packages, which I highly recommend doing as we got used to her style and being asked to kiss in front of the camera. We'd recommend her!!

Karen was amazing to work with. She was fun and positive and very engaging. The only reason that she didn't get a 5 star was that our family pictures were taken outside and everyone was squinting. I think she should have caught this and moved us. Also, father and bride ...father's eyes were closed so we don't have a good one of the two of them walking down the aisle.

I rated flexibility with 3 1/2 stars only because my in-laws verbalized that they felt this vendor was slightly impatient and did not seem flexible when asked to take certain pictures. In the vendors defense, I did not witness this, and do acknowledge that they asked the photographer to take pictures I had not previously agreed upon with her. I feel that, overall, she was very flexible, and even agreed to a small change in the wedding package we chose, since we did not want an engagement photo.

Karen's personality totally helped calm are nerves and made our day. We knew everyone was having fun with Karen. However, with all her experience there was a lot that I expected more from. There was very little direction or attention to details. For instance like the groom's buttons being unbuttoned in a lot of pictures or the brides hair covering her wedding day earrings. We felt like an experienced photographer would have helped set us up to look better before taking our pictures. There wasn't a lot of organzination for a big wedding party. In our wedding party photos we have our maid of honor and best man being blocked in a couple of pictures. Their was not a lot of formal ones like we asked for. There were a lot of walking around pictures but no organization of telling the wedding party how to walk behind the bride and groom to make it look good or in a line. I felt like a lot of these mistakes could have been hidden in the editing of the photos, but again expected a better job there too. A lot of things were missed like putting the family in the sun for pictures and everyone had squinty eyes, leaving a yellow curb and light pole in a family picture which the editing could have done a cropped job. There seemed to be hardly any filters besides black and white. The coloring of the pictures seem just natural like how they would be just like the day. No real editing like softing the background, lighting up the pictures, giving cool effects, blurring the background to make it focus just on the bride and groom like during their dances. The first look we didn't even get a picture of our reactions hardly. I the bride was also seen by all the arriving guests as they had me out front of church and were behind schedule. So overall we loved Karen's personality and her positive ability to connect with people but certainly expected way more from all her experience. We felt it was rushed and disorganized.
