My husband and I chose Jean Mascola to officiate our wedding. We found her to be very professional. We met with her 2x before the wedding to review the process. She was very informative, very punctual and guided us through the ceremony without a hitch! She did a great job and I would recommend her for your wedding!

A small, intimate, last minute ceremony and Jean helped us make it happen!

Jean married my husband and I in April of this year. She was absolutely amazing. Her speech was beautiful, we loved her message. She also helped us out as we needed a Justice of the Peace extremely last minute! She wanted to know about us as a couple, our preferences in terms of what we wanted for our ceremony, any special rituals we would like. She was absolutely amazing and we would recommend her to anyone. It was a small but beautiful ceremony and Jean was a huge contribution to that. We are forever grateful to her.

Officiant who goes above and beyond

When my fiance and I had to cancel our original wedding plans because of Covid-19, we started looking at possibilities for a smaller, more local ceremony that could be healthy and safe but still special for us. When I reached out to Jean, she responded quickly and assured me that this was possible. Even with the short notice, physical distancing, health precautions, and lack of guests, Jean made our wedding ceremony feel like this was the original plan--it was perfect. If you are looking for an officiant who is caring, organized, and willing to customize the ceremony to best suit your love story (or any other circumstances), I highly recommend reaching out to Jean.

Brazilian Wedding

Jean was incredible awesome with my wife and I. We’re both Brazilian and wanted our wedding to be a mix of languages. Even though Jean didn’t know Portuguese, she allowed us to make our vows in our native language. Her words of wisdom was beautiful, everything she said was amazing. A very helpful JP

My partner and I wanted a very small wedding and we really had no idea where to start. We found Jean online and after reading some reviews, decided to contact her to get the ball rolling. We were both very happy with Jean as she really help us with suggestions on the ceremony as well locations for a small gathering afterwards. She made the whole experience very easy for us and we really appreciate all her help in making the day a special one.

Jean was the BEST!

Jean was so helpful throughout our wedding planning process. She helped us figure out what kind of ceremony we wanted and was very easy to work with especially planning from out of state and communicating over the phone and via email. She made our ceremony personal and made it seamless. She was so organized and put us at ease right away. We could not have asked for a better justice of the peace! Thanks Jean!!!

Amazing Justice of the Peace!

Jean was a truly amazing JOP! From our first meeting, my husband and I knew she was the right fit to marry us. She came organized and took the time to get to know us. When we had questions, she answered emails promptly. Our ceremony was exactly what we wanted! Jean also provided me, the bride, with a handy list of the steps on how to change your name and the order to take to make the post wedding process easier.

Absolute efficiency and comfort.

Very pleasant experience!

Thanks to Jean, our wedding ceremony was seamless and just as we envisioned it. We weren’t exactly sure how to shape the ceremony, but Jean gladly helped us work through the details and rehearsal, relieving any questions or worries for our wedding day. It was an absolute pleasure having Jean as our justice of peace. She was very accommodating, knowledgeable and reliable. Professional but not to the point where she was serious all the time. My husband and I got married on June 16th, 2018. While we were planning our wedding, we were doing it while being out of state. Jean was prompt with her responses, and so flexible with planning meetings around our schedule. Jean was available for our wedding rehearsal. As far as our wedding, our ceremony was absolutely beautiful! Jean was so organized and she spoke so eloquently. She also did a special rose ceremony for our parents, which they loved! We absolutely loved our ceremony and we wish we could relive it over and over again! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Jean!

Jean Mascola is very professional. She really listens to what the Bride and Groom want. She has a binder to show different options available to couples. Very organized. Very prepared. After hiring her I found out she also officiated my sister's wedding. She helped make our wedding very special. She knew how to help us with our marriage license. She has a fantastic personality. From the moment I interacted with Jean I felt she was warm and engaging and really cared about us as a couple and about our wedding. We were looking for someone who could help us get married quickly and Jean was able to do it on short notice. She was flexible about having guests filling her living room, she was compassionate regarding my upcoming surgery (the reason for the rush wedding), and she tailored the words/vows to our specific situation, making it special for us and for our families. We are planning a more traditional ceremony for later and are hoping to have Jean officiate for us again!

My wife and I were searching for a Justice of the Peace and had found Jean. We knew Jean was the perfect officiant for our wedding. We met with her two months prior to our wedding to go over what we would like said and done at our wedding. She kept in contact thru emails to both of us giving her ideas and thoughts for our wedding. Jean made sure everything was perfect on our special day , especially being a "same gender" wedding. We had a wonderful experience hiring Jean Mascola to officiate our wedding. We had a rather non-traditional ceremony (my husband and I walked down the aisle together, we wrote our own vows, we did not have any prayers or readings) and Jean was very flexible and accommodating. I wanted to incorporate my favorite poem "Annabel Lee" into the ceremony and Jean kindly gave us honest feedback that she didn't feel like it fit and I think we made the right choice leaving it out. I appreciated that she guided us based on her professional opinion while being very respectful of our wishes. She was kind, thoughtful, easy to work with, prepared, and very responsive. I would highly recommend her as a ceremony officiant.

Jean officiated our ceremony with professionalism and love. It felt like she had known us for years as she spoke to our family and friends. Everyone could hear her when she spoke during the ceremony even our grandparents. Jean loves what she does! She goes above and beyond to make sure the ceremony runs smoothly and perfectly. Excellent quality of service! I would highly recommend Jean! She was very professional, knows how to ask the right questions to ensure the wedding details are exactly what you would like. She arrived each time early to go over the details of the wedding. It was a perfect ceremony from start to finish! Thanks Jean!

If we could give Jean higher than five stars for EVERY category, we would. She's a kind, loving person with a passion for what she does. Jean was very flexible with all of our requests, and even had a lot of great suggestions for us. Very easy to work with and very detail oriented. Her words on the day of the ceremony were beautiful as well, she had both of our families in happy tears. I would highly reccomend her to same-gender couples as well--you'll have to ask her about her provincetown story!

Go with Jean for your wedding, you will not be disappointed.

Jean was amazing from our first meeting to the day of the wedding. We'd been working with another JP but due to scheduling conflicts towards the wedding date we needed to find a new officiant. We wish we'd found Jean first as she was a pleasure to work with!

She worked with the ideas we already had and assisted in putting all the pieces of our hand picked ceremony together while presenting a few ideas we weren't aware of that really helped make it special.

Due to horrible traffic on the day of the ceremony my beloved wife was running late but Jean was very patient and understanding. She was a very calming presence and she brought a warmth and soul to the ceremony that we all very much appreciated.

We would highly recommend Jean as an officiant for any friend or family in the future.

Jean was a fantastic officiant for our wedding. We were out of state which had us a little nervous, but Jean was incredible. She helped give us information for the area, and was super responsive to our emails. She gave us all kinds of great ideas and information to make sure our wedding was perfect. She also provided us with a list of sample vows to choose from that both of us were extremely happy with. She was extremely organized and professional. She presented us with ideas of past ceremonies which was a huge help for me. One of her ideas was to have a rose ceremony, which I had never heard of, but I am so glad she suggested it because it really made it so special for my family. She was non judgmental. Very easy to talk to, and she has a very nice tone to her voice. She really has experience doing this.
We both work crazy opposite schedules and are from out of state but Jean was awesome and kept in contact with us until we all figured out a time we could meet up.
She helped make our day perfect. We'd recommend her in a heartbeat!

Jean Mascola, JP officiated my wedding on August 20. 2016. Many of my guest complimented on how wonderful our officiant was and how they enjoyed the way the ceremony was conducted. Jean was wonderful. We needed a JP on short notice (about 2 weeks notice) and she was very accommodating and quick to respond to all questions we had. She also included a prayer for our dog, who was at the ceremony and going through a tough time.

Jean performed my wedding on 6-4-2016 in Stoneham and from the first meeting I knew I had picked a great JP, she was very helpful and suggested things for us to add to our ceremony, she was very responsive with emails and always helped keep me organized on things I needed to do, everyone said our ceremony was so beautiful and special and a great deal had to do with Jean, I would highly recommend her!!

Jean Mascola is a professional and experienced officiant. I would recommend her for officiating weddings. She was quick to respond to emails and phone calls. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

We were able to customize our ceremony to our liking. She performed the wine box ceremony for our wedding and had recommended it for us. She gave us research materials she had on it already on hand. Having her as part of the wedding process made it easier.

We met with one officiate beforehand and knew when we met Jean that we wanted to hire her. She was friendly and responsible and did the job well.

Jean was a life savor! We were frantic to find a JP within two weeks and Jean was responsive, kind, flexible, and informative.

We had a non-traditional outdoor wedding and Jean helped us to pick a spot and write our vows. She offered up her home in case of weather issues as well.

If you get married in the area and you do not use Jean, YOU'RE NUTS!

Wonderful woman with an amazing gift. THANKFULLY, JP Jean Mascola was well organized bringing peace to our otherwise seamless day that lay ahead. Thanks to her everything went off on-time and as planned!! She worked perfectly and patiently as my wife and I initially struggled alone in an area we knew little about. JP Mascola was able to quickly bring us back on track - physically, emotionally, and spiritually during the months leading up to our wedding. Whether she knows it or not, my engagment/marriage was saved by all her hard work and outright calming nature. This beautiful woman knows her stuff and encourages all, with many well versed options, to plan along with her if so desired. At every pivital point, we were counseled in all the right directions, yet somehow still left the important personalized decisions up to us. JP Mascola does what she says and her word was gold, not to mention reasonably priced. I highly recomend JP Mascola and think you will too. Thanks again A++++

I found Jean after searching through quite a few people and finding the prices way too high for the simple ceremony we wanted. A friend from work recommended mjpa.org, and Jean was available for our date and the price was very reasonable. I contacted Jean, and my husband and I met with her in a coffee shop to discuss how we envisioned our ideal ceremony. Right off the bat, we both felt this was the right person, and she did not disappoint. The ceremony was a perfect reflection of us, and exactly how we wanted it to be - short, intimate, with a perfect combination of sentimentality and humor. She walked us through the entire process at our rehearsal, and worked in all the elements we wanted, from the quote I used on my wedding website, to the "Unity Shot" my husband and I wanted.

I would definitely recommend Jean to anyone who is looking for someone to perform their own unique ceremony as we had done.

Justice of the Peace Jean Mascola is one of the nicest people i have had the pleasure of dealing with ever. With all the hectic planning that comes with a wedding, she made us feel comfortable and went through every aspect of our ceremony with us. First she invited us into her lovely home to speak with her about exactly what kind of ceremony we wanted. She followed up with us and we agreed on the details via phone and email and our ceremony could not have been more perfect. Jean was prepared with printed literature/readings and was on point in every aspect of the ceremony. You can tell that she truly loves to do this. I would recommend her anyone that is planning a wedding ceremony and would like to have a personable, well spoken Justice of the Peace at their wedding.

Jean did an amazing job at our wedding She was flexible, professional and had wonderful ideas for our day. Her confidence and humor created such a comfortable ceremony.

Jean Mascola was Our Justice of the Peace at our wedding . She was so nice to us in helping to plan
OUR wedding ceremony . She was such a pleasant person to talk to . She performed a beautiful ceromony and really tailored it to us. Jean made the entire planning process simple and fun from start to finish.

Jean provided us with lots of ideas on ways we could create and customize the ceremony. She went above and beyond in guiding us on all logistics, including obtaining the marriage license. She was extremely responsive in promptly responding to all of our questions and flexible in accomodating our requests.

She officiated in a warm and capable manner. I am so happy that we chose Jean Mascola and would highly recommend her to others.

Jean is such a wonderfully sweet woman. She is extremely professional and kind. I've had two people already ask me for her information to use for their ceremonies. The best part - she is married. Our perfect day 💙

Throughout the process Jean was wonderful! We spoke a few times on the phone before the ceremony and Jean was so sweet and personable. She was really interested in me and my husband’s story! She answered any questions we had and just made things easy. We had a very small intimate ceremony at home with our families and on that day Jean showed up early and sat and talked with some of our family members. She was so friendly and her reading was perfectly us 💙 kind of like she’s known us for a while! Our ceremony was so perfect and I couldn’t thank her enough!

Jean was a great JP! She was very responsive to all of my emails and she provided suggestions for certain things, but was certainly flexible in what we wanted to do in the end. I was very happy with our wedding ceremony and wouldn't have changed a thing! I highly recommend Jean to officiate your wedding :)

Jean was the officiant for our June ceremony. We initially met with her and thought she was sweet, but unfortunately that was not the vibe we got the day of the wedding. She was rude, not at all flexible and made us feel rushed and as though we were an inconvenience to her day. Granted, we were running about 20 minutes late; however, as I'm also in the wedding industry I know this is not uncommon. You need to be accommodating and flexible when it comes to timeframes. She sped through the ceremony and her demeanor was obvious to everyone. The fact that she was unable to put a smile on her face despite her frustration speaks volumes about her professionalism. After sending her an email expressing my disappointment following the wedding, she responded, completely unapologetic, saying:

"I was frustrated, hot and also sorry for your guest to have been standing in the hot sun all that time. I certainly do not mind waiting for a bride but I think a little organizing on your part would have been nice. (Groom) was very nice and apologized twice for your lateness."

I would not recommend Jean to any Bride. The morning of your wedding is stressful as it is without having your JP giving you an attitude right before you walk down the aisle. If you want warm and fuzzy and someone who is going to put you first on one of the most important days of your life, Jean is not for you.
