The Perfect Gown!

I found Just Sew while researching local alterations and Renee had raving reviews, so I decided to give it a try. The whole team was so sweet and helpful and flexible to make appointments as needed. My dress fit absolutely perfectly and I could not be more thankful. The skirt on my gown had 8 layers and Renee expertly altered each one to fit me perfectly. I absolutely recommend to anyone in the area who needs an expert alteration. Absolutely perfect job!

Truly the best wedding gown alterations!

I am so glad that I chose Renee and her team to alter my wedding dress. Renee, Laura, and Bea are amazing, kind, and incredibly talented. They understood exactly what I wanted for my dress and I have never felt more beautiful. I was so happy with it! In addition to 2-3 fitting appointments, Renee was very kind to squeeze me in for a last minute appointment the Monday before my wedding when I realized there was one more change that needed to be made for the dress. They are the best-- I am so grateful for their attention to detail, responsiveness, and hard work! I would choose Just Sew by Renee again in a heartbeat.

High recommend

Renee was so patient with all of my requests (even when I changed my mind twice). She gave me exactly what I wanted in my dress and I could not have been happier with the finished product. The bustle she made was incredible, looked amazing, and kept the dress from getting trampled all night. Finally, she made my strapless dress the perfect size and gave me recommendations for tape so I didn't have to shimmy and pull at the dress all night. I highly recommend.

Look No Further!

Had my wedding dress altered here. I was a little worried because I knew it would need a lot of work, but my concerns immediately disappeared upon my first fitting. When I picked it up a few weeks later it fit perfectly! Look no further. You wont be disappointed!

Great Team!

Renee and Bea are a dream team! They were a preferred vendor from where I purchased my dress and I don't think it could have been better. They listened to what I wanted and made suggestions based on their experience and it worked out perfectly. My wedding was postponed from March 2020 to August 2020 so when I reached out to Bea and Renee in August for a last minute alteration, they didn't hesitate and got me right in - I was so relieved! They made a stressful moment so much easier and I am so grateful to them and all of their hard work! You will not be disappointed with the Just Sew team!

I wouldn't trust anyone else with my dress!

I had a great experience with Renee and Bea at Just Sew. I felt lost about what my dress needed changed to make it fit best since I hadn't had anything altered before, especially something as important and intricate as a wedding dress. I searched reviews and found Just Sew. Bea answered my emails and guided me on what I would probably need done, basic price estimates, and booked my appointment. She also did my first fitting, explaining what she would change and why. She was very kind and made me feel right at home during my one-on-one appointment. My second and final fitting with Renee went just as wonderfully. She is very skilled and put me at ease. The dress looked as beautiful as ever and fit like a glove. The alterations were flawless!

You won’t stress with Just Sew Alterations

Just Sew came as a recommendation from the bridal salon where I bought my dress, Costal Knot. And now, I would recommend them to anyone in the Raleigh/Durham area and beyond!

Rene and B were so easy to work with. They were easy to contact via email, which is how I set up my appointment. A few question later and my first of 3 appointments were set! My dress was a size too big, and was meant to fit me like a glove. After 3 appointments I didn’t want to take it off, it was perfect.

I trusted Rene and B from the moment I met them, and I even brought another item (a long bridal skirt by BHLDN) to be altered because of the confidence I felt from the first appointment. I would highly recommend, and trust Rene and B with your wedding dress needs.

Renee was absolutely wonderful. The alterations were wonderfully done. Renee also takes care of pressing the dress ahead of the wedding and then preserving the dress for you afterward. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone.

Renee made my beautiful dress even more beautiful

Renee was fantastic! As I told her at my final fitting, you couldn't tell that any alterations were made to my dress, and she had done A LOT!

When I came into the shop my dress was made to fit someone probably 5 inches taller than I am, with a much longer torso than I have. Renee took the straps up and even changed where the apex of the dress was so that it would fit better to my torso. Sounds easy enough (for someone who knows what they are doing), except my dress had intricate lace and was beaded all throughout the bodice-- it seemed like it would have been a puzzle for the best of the best! With that said, she made it look as though it came straight from the dress maker fitting perfectly to my body.

Renee also hemmed my dress and put a french bustle on it, which flowed wonderfully with the dress and was easy to quickly tie together at the start of our reception. I was even able to explain it to one of my bridesmaids who hadn't been coached on how to do it beforehand!

The one thing I would say is that I had a bit of sticker shock when I went in for my first alterations appointment, however with the amount of work she put into it and the amount of detail needed to make my dress look fantastic it was well worth it. If I ever need another formal dress altered, I will definitely be bringing it to Renee.

The Best Alterations Shop in North Carolina

Renee is an amazing seamstress & did such a wonderful job on my dress. I had a very large, complicated ballgown & she made easy work of hemming, taking it in, & adding other adjustments. I was shocked at just how great it turned out. I'm only 5'2" and my dress was made to fit someone much taller, but Renee managed to make it look like it was made just for me. I drove all the way from Wilmington, NC to have her do my alterations & I'm so glad I did. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my gown!

Practiced, skillful, and kind

I could not have hoped for a better experience with alterations. In three visits, my dress went from what I THOUGHT looked good to something really beautiful. I was comfortable hugging and dancing all night at my wedding last week! I wish I had my professional photos back to share instead of a casual snapshot.

Renee took in and added a dart to my bodice, hemmed the bottom, fixed the button loops that kept snapping, and also gave me tips on how to store the dress before the wedding, put it on, bustle it, etc. She was so comfortable to talk to, and I appreciated that she explained the process as she went. Alterations are expensive, but I never felt like she was overcharging me--she told me exactly what she was doing. A lovely and tremendously talented person!

Skilled Hands

Renee was amazing, my dress had a lot of small details on the bottom lace trim and she made sure it was perfect, she made my dress fit like a glove! I was worried about the delicate straps and clasps in the back, but Renee reinforced the back of my dress loops and made sure I was comfortable in my dress for my entire wedding!

Great experience!

Renee made my wedding dress alteration experience stress-free! My dress, I thought, was going to be super simple to alter, as it was a sheath dress and did not have any lace or beading. However, because my dress was multi-layer, and LOOKED so simple, it was going to be difficult for the alterations to be hidden and look like they were meant to be part of the dress! Renee worked so hard in making sure that my dress fit beautifully, and it really did! Despite my dress being ordered about 4 sizes too large for me, Renee worked her magic! And she gave me so many tips and tricks to keep my dress in place on my wedding day. I'm so grateful for her persistence and helping make sure my dress fit like a glove! Highly recommend her for future brides!

There is no one else I would trust my dress with other than Renee. I knew I wanted to invest in someone with many years of experience, and she did NOT disappoint! Her eye for perfection and precision made really my dress come to life. I got SO many compliments on how well my dress fit and hugged my body. Every inch of the dress was perfection! She knew exactly what to enhance, leave alone and transform, and I am forever grateful! I ended up having the dress hemmed and bustled (my bustle was tucked under the dress which was SO beautiful and looked so natural during the reception!), the boning on the sides elongated and the bust taken in. The entire process was a joy, and if you treasure your dress as much as I did, take it to someone who knows what they are doing. The quality of Renee's work is incomparable!

Absolutely amazing

Renee had to take my dress in a size and a half and she made it fit like a glove! Her attention to detail is fantastic. She had to hand stitch a lot on my dress and my dress looked flawless. I really liked that she had jewelry and veils to look at and try on (the veil). I ended up purchasing a veil through her and the price was so much more reasonable than the bridal shops!! You will not regret trusting Renee with your dress....she's absolutely amazing!

I cannot say enough about how enjoyable my experience with Renee was. I was recommended to her by my wedding planner Chad Biggs and Janna, and I am SO glad I listened to them! She works out of her house, and has the cutest room set up to make the fitting experience feel so personal and special, vs getting measured and doing your alterations in some shop next to a ton of other brides. She and her assistants hand work on your gown from start to finish, and makes it like the dress was made custom for you! She has TONS of experience, and you can tell by the many postcards and thank you cards posted all over from her previous brides over the years. She perfected my already dream Haley Paige gown beyond what I ever even thought it could be, and made me fall in love with it all over again. I cannot wait to wear it in a couple of weeks! Renee did a beautiful job altering my dress. I was super happy with the results. Renee was great to work with as well. She is super friendly and gave great advice. She was also very accommodating with scheduling my appointments. I appreciating that she was so easy to work with, it made the days preparing for my wedding much less stressful. And during the wedding celebrations, I NEVER worried or "fiddled" with my dress. It fit perfectly and held up through a long night of dancing! I would highly recommend Just Sew!

I'm floored at how flawless the work Just Sew did on my dress. I had my first fitting with Renee, but Bea was actually the one that did the work on the dress. Both people are insanely talented, professional and friendly. I recommend this place to anyone in NC. My dress was a strapless heavily beaded, super lacy Stella York and you truly can search all day long but you cannot tell it was altered in anyway when in reality it was quit heavily altered!

Renee was an absolute dream to work with! I can not say enough wonderful things about her! I got married on June 2, 2018 in my mother's wedding dress from 1986, which Renee complete re-imagined and altered. No one, including my mom, could believe it was even the same dress! The original dress has long sleeves, a turtle neck and mushroom pleating. In the end it had an illusion neckline, open back, and french embroidered lace in place of the pleating. When I had my first consultation with Renee I told her how I wanted it to look on my wedding day and she shared ideas with me, and I felt so comfortable and understood. She did nothing to the dress without my permission. I had 3 fittings and in each their were slight design alterations made until it was perfect. Renee is really sweet, funny and down-to-earth. She was honest and transparent with me throughout the process. I can not recommend her enough!

I cannot say enough to express the quality of work Reneé did for my wedding dress! She took my dress from a size 12 down to a 4 and I couldn’t even tell it was made originally a larger size. She paid extra attention to details such as the bead work on my boddice and even designed a special bustle so that the organza layers of my skirt would lay perfectly when bustled so that the look of my gown was the same (just shorter and easier to walk in) when bustled for the reception! She ensured I was 100% satisfied with everything about my gown before I took it back with me! She fixed a few minor things that had broke on the gown since it was used as a sample dress. She also suggested taking a video on how to bustle the gown so my MOH (who could not be there at the final fitting) would not have any trouble bustling the dress! Reneé does exceptional work and although it was very expensive I could not be happier with how my dress turned out and looked for my wedding day!

My wedding dress was definitely a complicated one. It has a lot of detail and lace and beading and different materials. I knew I needed someone who knew what they were doing. Renee took on the challenge of altering my dress and it came out absolutely perfect. I had three fittings total for my wedding dress. After the first fitting, I started panicking about all of the work that needed to be done to my dress and Renee gladly walked me through how they would be altering everything. The dress really looked like nothing had ever been done to it. My train needed two layers of bustles plus multiple snaps and hooks, and they took two videos for me so that my bridesmaids knew exactly how to bustle my dress. Everything looked so perfect and my husband was floored when he saw me. It was worth every penny!

I was so happy with the decision to get my dress altered by Renee! She is such an easy-going person and yet so professional at the same time. She altered the dress beautifully and it fit like a glove. Her attention to detail is immaculate. She hand-stitched the several layers of lace. She prepared us for how to bustle the dress, how to take care of any day-of emergencies, and how to feel confident and beautiful on the wedding day. She even tailored by mom's and the matron of honor's dress as well. I felt beautiful on my wedding day and a large part of it was because of Renee.

Renee (aka the Bustle Queen) was one of the last people I linked up with during my wedding planning process. You know what that means: I waited way too long to go to Just Sew for my bridal alterations! I made the mistake of going to a tailor that didn't focus on bridal gowns and ended up in a pinch about a month before my ceremony. I asked my matron of honor where she had her gown altered (should have done this from the beginning) and she said "You need to call Renee at Just Sew!!" Renee graciously agreed to work on my dress, despite the fact that I didn't give her much time. She and her assistant, B, were an absolute dream to work with. They are both professional, understanding, and all around awesome. Renee took my dress from just "beautiful" to "absolutely stunning, unique, made for me, jaw dropping gorgeous." The sheer contrast from when I dropped the dress off and my second fitting was stunning because the dress had completed transformed (before and after pictures below). I actually don't know how she pulled it off.. wait, yes I do: it's because she is the best of the best and cares as much about how you will look on your wedding day as you do! I'm not going to let any of my friends take their wedding dresses anywhere else lol! I had so many people compliment my dress and tell me that it looked made for me. Renée is so amazingly talented and skilled! I was worried about finding the right seamstress for my dress alterations since it is embellished from head to toe with lace and beading. Renée knows what she is doing and it's obvious that she loves her work. With her skill and artistry, she turned my dress into the perfect wedding gown. Renée was wonderful to work with on my dress. I wore my mother's dress with some alterations. At our consultation, she helped me figure what I liked and didn't like about the dress and made suggestions for alterations to make. We met with her multiple times for fittings to make sure the dress was absolutely perfect. She even made it so that we could bustle the dress. When we needed more help with learning how to bustle the dress, she met with us again to teach us. In the end, my dress was absolutely perfect. Renee was absolutely amazing. She helped me completely redesign my mother and grandmother's dress into the dress of my dreams. She completely reconstructed the bodice to perfectly fit my torso which is completely different from my mother's. She added lace to all of the right places. It was fantastic. Renee was so much fun to work with, and you can tell she has a true passion for what she does and puts a lot of attention into all her work. She was even able to squeeze one of my bridesmaids in and alter her dress as well at the very last second, and it came out beautifully!! She had to make my bridesmaids dress into a corset back because she was pregnant and the dress didn't fit. She bought ribbon and hand-dyed it to match the dress perfectly, and originally we didn't think there would be enough material to make a panel for the back so we decided against it, but she found a way to make one anyways. Renee went WAY above and beyond for us, and was always flexible about pricing. I truly appreciate all that she did and I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who needs to get their dress altered.

Where do I begin?! I accidentally waited too long to book my alterations appointment, and was absolutely thrilled when Renee agreed to alter my dress on such a short timeline. I actually drove to Raleigh from Wilmington, NC because of her amazing reviews. I am SO glad I did. She walked me through every detail of the alterations process, and was extremely thorough. She also made some great suggestions that I hadn’t thought of before. We ended up adding cups, hemming the dress, adding some almost invisible darting, adding a bustle, and tailoring the sleeves slightly. My dress was all one piece of lace, so I knew alterations would be no easy task. When I got my dress back, it was INCREDIBLE. I was speechless. It fit like a glove. It looked like it was literally made for me. I had no idea I could love my dress more than the day I bought it, but thanks to Renee’s flawless work and attention to detail, she made me fall in love with my dress all over again. Renee’s work is absolutely amazing and she is a true professional. On top of that, she is SO friendly and fun to work with. Renee was a dream to work with. With all the stress that comes with planning a wedding, your dress should not add to the list. Renee was wonderful to work with and did a amazing job altering my dress! Her house was a little bit of a drive for me, but it was well worth it to have someone I fully trusted doing my alterations! Bridal alterations are expensive and this was no exception, but I felt it was well worth the money. The fit of the dress could not have been better and the bustle was perfect - stayed up the whole night despite lots of dancing and even being stepped on!

Renee of Just Sew Bridal Alterations is a superb wedding dress seamstress and designer. She really makes miracles happen with anything she is working on. Her attention do detail is irreplaceable and the comfort when you step in her studio is unmatched. As I was engaged years ago, I had a wedding dress in a box that I still loved so much but felt it needed to be changed to be a "different" dress. She took the dress completely apart and made it fit me perfectly, added lace to the bottom hem, neckline, and waist, and made it really "me". She also made a veil to match and really helped me feel good in my dress - as I have a large bust, she paid special attention to my feedback, gave great suggestions and solutions, and made sure I was comfortable with every decision she made. And, on top of all that, she fixed up some dresses for my honeymoon that needed a little tweaking. A true one-stop shop! I will always take anything I need altered to her! Thank you Renee!!!

I couldn't have imagined a more wonderful, attentive, lovely, professional, and detail-oriented person to alter my dress. Renee was not shy to remind me each time that my dress was complicated with lots of layers, and being 5'2", there were a LOT of alterations to be done and a lot of layers to be hemmed. I made a total of 5 visits to her, and each one had me loving the dress more and feeling more confident that I was in great hands. Even on my first visit, I knew she'd leave me with the dress of my dreams!
Renee works out of her [stunning] house in Holly Springs, and has such a lovely, warm ambience in her work area. It's romantic, warm, and full of accessories, as well as photos and thank-you notes from previous brides. Renee's attention to detail, hard work, and knowledge really were worth every single penny. She even gave me great tips for the wedding day - everything from the practical sides to the romantic, personal ones. I would send every.single.bride I know to Just Sew to see her; I honestly can't thank her enough and can't think of anyone better in the area.

Renee was amazing to work with. Her work is very professional. The dress fit perfectly! I tend to avoid strapless dresses because I tug at them all the time but I went with a strapless wedding dress and Renee had it fitting so well that I never had to adjust it! She is very easy to work with too. Every appointment was on time, whatever she said would be done at the appointment was done, etc. And she is a genuinely nice person to work with! My mother called her all upset that her attempts at sewing a piece of her wedding veil into something special to go inside my dress were not working well at all. Renee was very sweet and reassuring, my mother mailed her part of the veil and Renee made a gorgeous little bow out of the lace trim from the veil and had it stitched just inside the hem of my dress. I loved it! Definitely not the cheapest place to go for alterations but if you are looking for top notch quality and a very pleasant, professional experience, I highly recommend Renee!

Renee was helpful in getting me into her shop (in her home) in a rush because I had purposefully waited too long to schedule an appointment. I must say I was a huge pain, because the dress for my old body-- which unfortunately when I moved to NC put on about 20 lbs. although I was diligent in losing weight, a lot had to be done to my dress. It is one thing to alter a dress to make it smaller; however, it is far more difficult to alter to make it bigger. Renee and her assistant were very attentive to my needs and circumstances. She charged N extra $100 for the five-six week turnover, which is fair. Everything fit when I tried on my dress at the last fitting. I am pleased with the quality of workmanship.

Renee was absolutely amazing to work with! She was so complimentary of my dress, and made me feel like it was as important to her as it was to me. I had three fittings with her, and each time I met with her was so great. She had to create a bustle on my dress and just did a beautiful job with it. Renee was so great to work with. I did 3 visits with her to complete my alterations. At my first fitting, she took an hour with me and really took the time to see how my dress fit me, how it fell on different parts of my body and how to make it look it's best on my body. You could tell by the care that she took that she really knows what she's doing. When I left I had complete confidence that my dress would turn out beautiful and that it was in the hands of a professional. My dress had a lot of work to do and she was able to do it all in a short turn around time which I was so grateful for. My dress had a lace overlay so it was basically like she was taking in two separate dresses. On the bottom layer she added in seams to take the dress in around my waist and my bust. She adjusted the straps to give me more support & added cups. The top layer was lace and she again added seams around the waist and the bust. The back of the dress had to be taken up and she hand sewed the lace in order to do this. It was flawless and you couldn't even tell that it had been touched. She also added a bustle and tacked on a belt which was amazing. I loved working with Renee and was so glad I found her and that I invested in a quality seamstress to work on my dress. It was worth every penny.

Renee was so great to work with! I had to get a fair amount of alterations done to my dress and her work was absolutely stunning. My dress had a slip with a lace overlay so she basically had to alter 2 dresses. She was able to add seams/take the dress out in all of the right places to make it fit me perfectly. Through working with her, you could really tell that she understood how to work with the material in order to make your dress work the best for your body type. There was even one portion of my dress where the lace had to be cut and hand sewn back together. After she was finished, you couldn't even tell that anything had been done, it was amazing. Not only did she do a great job with my dress, but she also did it in a very short amount of time. She was able to deliver high quality a high quality end product within a very limited time frame which was amazing. She was also extremely nice and made you totally comfortable during each and every appointment. She was so great to work with and I'm so glad I found her!

Renee was great to work with. I visited her in her home and after putting on my wedding dress she quickly saw all the work she needed to do to make the dress look great on me. She knows her stuff! Another positive note was the fact that she also sold bridal accessories. I picked up a beautiful veil for 1/4 of the price shops and boutiques were selling them for. I also purchased a beautiful hair piece and belt to add to my dress.

Renee gave me information about a normal bustle and a French bustle. I am really glad I went with the French bustle as this kept my dress secure for dancing a merriment!

Renee was ahhhhmazing to work with! My mother saw Just Sew in the local paper and after we ordered/purchased my dress, we contacted Renee and scheduled a time for a fitting based on when the dress would be delivered. I did not have any idea the difference that alterations can make on the way the dress looks on the body. We had to take in the bust a lot and she had to take the lace on the sides and restitch them - I couldn't even tell that the lace had been touched, she placed it perfectly!
The moment I met Renee in her home where she operates her business, I knew I could trust that my dress was in good hands. She had sample jewelry, veils, belts, etc. that she could order for you if you chose to add something special to your look. She also recommended a place to send my dress for cleaning between our wedding day and our reception (we had a month time between and it was an outdoor wedding). She had a referral for suit cleaning, as well! Also, there was a slight tear in the front of my dress after the wedding day and she was able to fix the tulle fabric and send it directly to her recommended cleaner. Her expertise was clear and she was very professional. She did fantastic work at a very appropriate and reasonable price - no hidden or unmentioned fees. She wants to make sure that the brides she works with are happy with their dress and their overall look for their big day! Thank you SO much Renee! I can't begin to thank Renee enough for the amazing work she did on my wedding dress. I thought I loved my dress when I purchased it off the rack, but it was very dirty and damaged, and it didn't fit at all. Renee transformed my dress into something better than I ever could have imagined. Renee is awesome! She did a great job with my dress! I had a strapless Mori Lee A-Line dress for my wedding that needed to be taken in and bustled. In addition to the alterations, I had Renee add a belt to the dress which I bought separately. Renee not only did was required for the dress to fit, but she took extra care to make sure the dress was comfortable and fit my shape. She is really good at showing you the options for your dress (such as different styles of bustles) and giving you an honest opinion without being pushy. You can tell she cares about her craft and wants you to look gorgeous on your wedding day. She also took time out to show my mom and bridesmaid how to bustle my dress and gave tips on how to easily get me in and out of the dress. As an added bonus, she has jewelry, accessories, and veils in her store that you can purchase (that are very reasonably priced). This was a great option for me and I ended up purchasing a necklace, bracelet, hair clip and veil from her. I can't say enough about my experience with Renee. She's professional, friendly and knows how to make your dress fit perfectly. I'm so glad I had her as one of my vendors!

Renee is incredible. Just absolutely incredible. I brought my simple and bland wedding dress to her that needed lots of work. I am so happy to have used Renee to alter my wedding dress. After ordering my dress I realized it was too long and too big. I came to Renee with only 5 weeks to alter my dress, it needed to be shortened about 3 inches, taken in 2 inches on the waist, taken in on the hips and needed a bustle made. Renee was able to make it all happen, and more! The dress fit like a glove and was absolutely beautiful. She was able to steam it and have it packaged up for me to take home. Renee at Just Sew by Renee is seriously the best at alterations ever!! I knew immediately that she would be wonderful to work with; she's so nice and personable and very knowledgeable about fabrics and alterations/sewing! We began the process just over 2 months until the wedding, and Renee got it done in plenty of time even though she had quite a bit to alter! :D My dress was initially two sizes too big (whoops), and it was I think 7" or so too long (yay short people) and it had a "horsehair" hem which is more complicated to alter! Oh and my dress had a lace overlay with this beautiful spacing between the lace on the skirt (it's James Clifford style J11371 for reference) and we decided to shorten the skirt and not lose the detailing at the bottom by taking the length from those gaps! The dress turned out so beautiful! It fit me great! Renee added cups into the bust, which had a little push-up so that I fit the dress better, and she helped me pick the bustle (I went with the traditional bustle), and she told me how to sit in the dress without damaging the hooks and eyes in the bustle! She also had the dress steamed so that when I picked it up at the final alteration it would be ready for the wedding day! On top of all that, she handled sending it to a dress preservation specialist somewhere up north for me so I didn't have to figure it out myself and I knew the dress is in good hands! Overall, Renee did an amazing job on my wedding dress, and I hope I have dresses in need of alterations in the future so I can work with her again! Thank you so much Renee, the dress was beautiful!! :)

Renee was a God send! I had a trumpet style, ruched dress that needed taken in 2 sizes. I also wanted to add a beaded belt. Not only did she make my dress fit like a glove but she also handmade the most beautiful belt! It matched perfectly. 2 weeks before my wedding I decided my strapless dress wasn't exactly what I wanted. Renee stepped in and added the most beautiful straps. I could not say enough great things about Renee! I bought my dress on sale (and a few sizes too big) because I loved it that much. It did have some beaded bands around the midsection that I was not crazy about but I already had a vision in my head of how I could alter it to be the perfect dress I had been looking for. I found Renee on the internet and on a whim, asked her to do my alterations. She EXCEEDED my expectations and truly made my dress into everything I hope it would be. I had her remove the beaded bands and instead add a ribbon sash with three white flowers on the side. She also made it so the ribbon could tie into a subtle bow on the back of my dress. She had to take my dress in and cut a lot of length off since it was way too long for me.

Besides the flower sash, one of my absolute favorite things she did was the bustle. I had a ballgown-type gown that had layers of organza. She bustled it so that you could barely tell it was bustled - it looked more like a shorter, party version of my dress (the hem still covered my feet). Renee suggested a few ways she could bustle it, and even though I picked the "harder" way that involved more work on her part, she was happy to oblige and in my opinion, the end result was stunning.

Renee was super easy to work with and talk to. She makes you feel at ease during the whole process and you know you are going to get the results you want. My mother was also very pleased with the results, and couldn't stop gushing about the wonderful job Renee did. I also bought my veil from her, as well as a flower hairclip that matched the three flowers on the sash.

When I first started thinking of getting my moms wedding dress redesigned and altered for my wedding I was nervous because the dress screamed early 90's and was way too small. Renee was amazing! She was the key piece in helping make my wedding happen. I planned my wedding from long distance and live overseas and only had the week of my wedding to come back to the states and get my dress altered. She was able to make a turn around for me within in 48 hours and everything was beautiful. She was super flexible with my schedule that week based on changes and the limited time frame to squeeze everything in and was highly responsive when my mother had to be the one to contact her to change times and dates. Basically, Renee was amazing. I have a crazy work/school schedule and she had no trouble finding times that would work within that without making me crazy! And it did; it fit absolutely perfectly the day of my wedding. Renee truly cares about the work she does and making sure everything is as good as it can possibly be. She exceeded my expectations and I couldn't have asked for anything else!

Just Sew took my dress and really made it come alive! My wedding day would not have been the same without "My dress". I fell in love with a dress that could no long be ordered so I had to buy the dress off the shelf. It was over 4 sizes to big. I went with my heart and bought the dress. I traveled over 4 hours to have Renee (Just Sew) alter my dress. Just Sew did a awesome job and everything I wanted. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone and well worth every penny we spend to have such a wonderful experience. Oh and the have my dress fit like a glove on my wedding day.

Ms. Renee at Just Sew Bridal Alternations is AMAZING!!! She made major alternations on my dress (it was several sizes to big) and she did it in no time! I was shocked when I went in for my second fitting and the dress was all put back together. She even made me a custom bushel which is absolutely beautiful. I just loved working with Renee! She was so positive and excited for me that I couldn't help feel like a million bucks. I don't know where to begin on describing just how wonderful it was working with Ms. Julie! I contacted Julie in a big rush, this was my fault as I was unaware at how long you needed to have to alter a wedding gown. Ms. Julie worked with me to get my gown ready before the wedding and even better she worked so hard to get it ready in time for a bridal portrait. She made my dress fit like it was made specifically for me! I had seven French bustles added to my dress and they were absolutely beautiful. They also stayed put through the entire four hour reception of dancing. I would highly recommend Julie for any alterations! I could not have been any happier with her.

Renee was wonderful to work with altering my sample sale dress that I got a deal on. The drawbacks to the deal is I needed to find someone to take the dress in on the sides, alter the neckline (straight to sweetheart) and spot clean satin and some of the lace. I loved the dress and the price and really needed someone with experience and someone that I trusted to do the alterations. The moment I met Renee at her house I knew my dress was in good hands. You certainly pay for her experience but her alterations were done quickly and proficiently, I only had ONE dress fitting! Everything was perfect when I picked up the dress. She did everything and more that I asked for.

My partner and I needed to have our dresses altered for our wedding, and we knew we needed to find someone with specific experience altering wedding dresses. Renée was recommended by our event planner, and she was wonderful. We loved working with her! She was easy to reach, very responsive and -- most importantly -- did a fantastic job with our our dresses. My dress had a small train that needed a bustle option. Renée came up with a perfect solution and created a series of ribbons to make it easy for us to bustle my dress after the ceremony. I can't even count all the compliments we received, and we both felt like the dresses fit us perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Renée, thought her services were very reasonable and recommend her highly.

All I can say is WOW!! We purchased a very expensive wedding dress with a very detailed beaded train out of town. We knew it would need to be altered down the road and worried about who would do this for months. We found Renee online and based on her reviews we scheduled an appointment for a first fitting. The dress needed a lot of work -- length, bust, bustle -- just about everything and we wanted to maintain the integrity of the gown. Renee was awesome. So kind, so friendly and didn't mind that we showed up with 5 bridesmaids and the mother of the groom! This was the first time they would all see "the dress!" Renee let us take our time, we talked through all of our expectations and I left feeling pretty great about the dress. When we returned for her first fitting the dress was perfect in EVERY WAY. There was no second fitting!! She completely exceeded my expectations! Renee is not only an expert seamstress, she also just could not be nicer! I would recommend Renee in a second!!

Renee is absolutely amazing! She altered my bridesmaid dress for my best friend's wedding. After holding onto it for nearly a year, I took my Rosa Clara gown to Renee of Just Sew Bridal Alterations. I have had friends endure nightmarish situations during alterations at some popular bridal stores in the Triangle area and I did not want to go down that road at all. She was incredibly professional, provided great insight and suggestions for alterations, and truly enhanced an already spectacular dress (in my opinion.) Renee went above and beyond what I originally wanted (take dress in, hem skirt, bustle train) and I absolutely love the result. I cannot wait to wear my dress in April! I would highly recommend Renee's services. She was prompt, professional and comforting at the same time, and made my experience with bridal alterations a breeze!

Renee was great! She fit me in despite her own son's wedding and did a beautiful French bustle on my dress. She made a simple David's Bridal dress look designer. The pressing was perfect. My second dress was just as great as my formal one. She sells these beautiful pins. I bought one and she sewed one so well into the dress, it looked like part of the dress. Renee did a few simple alterations to my mother's wedding dress to update it into the classic and timeless dress that I wore. She also used some of the extra lace from the dress to make garters for my sisters...and everything was perfect. I went to Renee after 2 alterations gone wrong and my gorgeous Maggie Sottero lace dressed was near ruined! The previous alterations ladies had cut off some lace of my dress in huge chunks and Renee went in and sewed the back on to where you could not see it! I was one month away from our wedding day when Renee rescued my dream dress and me from having to walk down the aisle with a dress that look terrible on me! Renee was super nice and worked with me to get all of the "realterations" done (because she had to reconstruct the dress) and put in a 7 point bustle for me all within one month during wedding season might I add! I can't rave enough about how beautiful the dress turned out!!

Renee was beyond words phenomenal. The moment I walked into her cozy home I felt at ease with her. I knew that this woman was talented and reliable and I immediately turned my dress over to her without hesitation. I met with Renee about 4-5 times throughout the wedding process and each time I felt closer and closer to her. Renee saved me from a potential wedding dress disaster. I contacted Renee in a panic since I had not received my dress from a local salon and I was 2 months out from my wedding. Luckily my dress came in about 1 month out and Renee worked her magic and did a rush job for my intricate Lazaro dress. Renee was an absolute joy to work with, and I am so glad that I found her to do my wedding dress alterations! I came to her with a dress that I didn't necessarily love and a long list of alterations, and left with the perfect gown. She changed a detailed neckline to a sweetheart shape, added buttons down the back of my dress, and did a lot of basic alterations so that the dress fit perfectly. She knows what she is doing - she will ask you what you'll be walking on (grass, cement, brick, etc) so that she knows how short to hem the dress based on how your shoes will sink (or not sink). She also has a good repertoire of vendors to suggest if she knows that she isn't expert enough for a certain project. I wore a 100 year old veil in my wedding that needed to be restored - she recommended a group in CT that did a perfect job and restored the very delicate veil to it's original color. The people from which I purchased the dress told me that only a french bustle would work. Well, I hate french bustles and refused to believe that. Thankfully, I found Renee who came up with an original bustle design for the dress that worked perfectly. The dress fell as naturally bustled as it did unbustled with the train. Renee is professional but also fun to work with. Very highly recommended! You won't get a better alterations expert.

I was thrilled with Renee's service. First of all, I called her in March about a wedding in April! I was totally unaware of how far in advance you need to book an alterations appointment, and had been turned down by three other seamstresses already. Renee almost had to tell me no as well, but she managed to fit me in. Then, during the process, she even made time for an extra fitting to check that my complicated hem would hang just the right way.

She was gracious, fun to chat with, and is clearly dedicated to getting every detail perfect. She gave extra suggestions (like bra cups) that I would never have thought of but made my wedding dress look that much better. She also gave me a very reasonable price, and did a beautiful piece of embroidery, putting my wedding date in blue thread on one of the underlayers of my gown.

I felt gorgeous on my wedding day and the bustle she put in worked like a dream. The entire experience was better than I could have imagined and I would recommend her to anyone.

Renee was wonderful. I did a lot of research about alterations in the Raleigh area before contacting Renee. She has years of experience and was very responsive. Because of the shape of my body, I needed over two inches taken in on each side on the top. She was able to remove that much fabric, plus raise the hem a couple of inches, from a scalloped-edged, lace overlay dress and you couldn't even tell. She also did a five point french bustle which was beautiful.

One surprise when going to get my dress altered was Renee also sells veils and jewelry. Having the dress on while trying on veils was key because my dress was in-between white and ivory so many veils didn't match. It's like your own one-stop shop. Renee is such a sweet lady, which is the cherry on top. She did a great job, and I couldn't be more happy with how my dress turned out.

If you are a bride in need of wedding gown alterations...I would HIGHLY recommend Just Sew by Renee! I originally had started my dress alterations at Young's Alterations in Wake Forest (I would HIGHLY recommend NOT going there!) About two weeks before my wedding, I had a dress that still needed to be properly altered and FAST. I called Renee and she scheduled an emergency appointment with me just two days later! Renee not only corrected the alterations that were incorrect, but she created the most beautiful bussle for my gown! Renee knows what she is doing and has lots of experience. She even educated me on what she was doing as we worked through the stages of alterations of my gown. Once the alterations were finished, I tried on my wedding gown and simply could not stop smiling! Renee is wonderful! I purchased my dress from Enchanting Moments with her help and then was lucky enough to have her do all of my alterations. Renee completely reworked my entire gown. She custom made straps and added extra material to the sweetheart neckline to add more coverage. All of this was done to match my gown perfectly. She hemmed all three layers of my gown and added a bustle. I had a separate dress for the reception that Renee reworked for me as well. She did an excellent job of making sure each dress fit me perfectly and that I was comfortable. Renee also did all of the alterations on my mom's dress for the wedding. She took in the sides and did the hem. She even picked out and added buttons to the sleeves of the jackets to add a little "bling" to my mom's look.
Each of my bridesmaids went to Renee for their alterations and were very happy with her work. I know of two bridesmaids that have returned to her for other alteration needs.
I highly recommend Renee!

I met Renee at a wedding show and I tried her out by having her hem a pair of pants and two casual dresses. Her home is so inviting and she made me feel so comfortable that I immediately asked her to alter my wedding gown before I even got my other items back! She has since altered my wedding gown and it is absolutely perfect, it fits me like a glove. She got it done almost a month before her promised date, and it is beautiful. I've given her more pants to hem, and it feels like I've known her forever, she is so sweet. I highly recommend her and her work.

I would highly recommend Renee to alter any wedding gown or dress. She did a wonderful job making the length of my dress perfect. Also, she put bustles in the back of my dress in the best location to ensure it still looked beautiful. Renee is a must for any wedding dress alteration project. My dress was vintage lace that all other tailors refused to work on because they insisted it couldn't be done. Renee took on the project without any hesitations. She made myself, my sister, and my mother feel like queens and listened to all of our requests completely. My mom is extremely picky with lace and alterations and by the end, she was extremely impressed with her work. She even allowed her to wash my grandmother's vintage 100 year old lace veil from Ireland. She really did an excellent job with all alterations related to my dress and I felt exquisite on my wedding day. Anyone in the Triangle area and beyond should use Renee for their wedding dress alterations. Although the alterations ended up being quite pricey (about equal to the original price of my dress itself), they would worth it and understandable considering the extent of work needed for lace in general.
