Big sound, great band!

We hired Jumpstart to perform at our Freedom Fiesta. This is a large one day festival held each Fourth of July weekend in downtown Seguin. We are always looking for a band that can deliver a great show with a big professional sound. Boy did they deliver. People were blown away by the 11-piece band and its expansive playlist. The hits just kept coming all night long. I highly encourage you to consider them for future events.

Jumpstart was awesome!

We hired Jumpstart for a family reunion and my mom’s 80th birthday and they blew us away. 11 piece band with 3 amazing vocalists. Mike was great to communicate with and setting up and coordination was flawless. I would highly recommend jumpstart for any wedding or party if you want to get people dancing. They also did a great relaxing jazz set during cocktails!

Awesome band!

Although this band most often performs for wedding receptions, my nephew & I hired them for a joint 60th & 40th birthday party with approximately 300 guests in March 2020. From the beginning, Mike was incredibly easy with which to work & also worked with us as far as certain song requests we had for that night. The entire band was phenomenal & played a great variety of music! They did a fine job of keeping everyone engaged & on the dance floor! We received several compliments about the band over the course of the evening & even after the party. I would highly recommend them for your upcoming event!

What a night!

From our first dance, to a surprise song as part of the welcome by my mom, to the music that got people on the dance floor all night long - everything was perfect. Mike, the band contact is so responsive and incredibly accommodating. And the singers and band members, WOW! We had three semi-obscure songs we wanted for some of our "special" dances and they absolutely did them perfectly (honestly maybe even better than the original artists! :)) A lot of reviews have said it, but they truly know how to read the crowd and get people on the dance floor. We had a mix of family and friends from 2 - 92 years old and had plenty of them dancing. And, we're still hearing from them how much fun they all had! You will not be disappointed with Jumpstart!

The BEST wedding band I've ever seen

Jumpstart is a MUST HIRE if you want great dancing at your reception, they're available, and they're within budget. If you read nothing else from this review, then please walk away with that one thing.

My wife and I initially planned on hiring a DJ for the reception but after learning that Jumpstart was available, we became absolutely torn between us spending less on our wedding and having a band that she had seen play live before and loved. We eventually decided to take a leap of faith and booked the band.

One would think that paying for your wedding would mean fewer cooks in the kitchen for an already stressful process, but hiring a band surfaced all kinds of reactions and opinions from our friends and family. We were told things like: a DJ would have been just as good and way cheaper; If the band is even just okay, you're wasting a lot of money; didn't ___ and __ have a band at their wedding? I don't remember anything about them; I wouldn't have hired a band.

We had plenty of self-doubt ourselves from the time we put in our deposit until the wedding. Nevertheless, we stuck with our guns.
Mike, the band leader, was super responsive and accommodating throughout the whole process. You fill out a questionnaire about what time everything is happening, what the special songs are, etc. They'll even learn a few songs for you to make your night extra special. The best part of the process itself though was how accommodating Mike was to us and the chaos of the final couple of months before the big day:
* We picked two songs for the band to learn for the first dance and the father-daughter dance.
* A couple of weeks later, we asked about a mashup of two songs and Mike ended up mixing it for us.
* Mike realized that we didn't pick a grand entrance song and made a great suggestion for us to walk in to.

Then came the big day itself and Jumpstart sounded AMAZING. The dance floor was PACKED with people of all ages. And the most shocking thing to me: MY FAMILY DANCED. Including parents that normally sit throughout wedding receptions.

Friends and family have said the following:
* "This is the best reception I've ever been to."
* "Everything was great so I'm only going to call out three decisions that were great: the venue, the food, and the band."
* "The band was worth every penny." (A family member who previously thought we were spending too much on the music)
* "The band was very good!" (The first thing one of my uncles said to me when we saw family the next day)
* "Venue: 10; Wedding: 10; Band: 10; Food: 10; A top notch classy wedding"

After we came back from the honeymoon, my wife's parents were still glowing over the memory of the wedding. They even asked when Jumpstart was playing next so they could drive down all the way from Fort Worth to Austin just to see them!

most fun you'll ever have!

Our experience with Jump Start was incredible! We loved them so much at our wedding and working with them before-hand was a breeze!

We began working with Mike (main contact) nearly 10 months out form the wedding date. He is very good with communication, and their wedding questionnaire covers just about anything you can think of. Mike made sure to check in at various points after the initial conversation and as we neared the wedding. About a month out, he was pro-active in reaching out to us for final conversations and details. Our venue didn’t have their exact power requirements, but they made it work with no added stress to us.

Their actual performance was so great. They did an instrumental “cocktail set” between the ceremony and reception, which was nice to have for the guests. Their man set was incredible! All our guests couldn’t stop talking about how great the band was. They were fun, played a good mix of songs based on our requests, and had just the right amount of crowd interaction. The bride and bridesmaids were all pulled on stage for a rendition of “Rolling on the River”, which was awesome. We had a friend of ours go on stage with them to sing “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” which was also a hit. If you’re debating between a DJ and a live band and have room in your budget, you HAVE to go with the live band – it takes it to a completely different level.

They were also willing to help us out last minute regarding the sound/PA for our ceremony. They handled the start/stop of the ceremony music and did so without a hitch.

Highly highly recommend!!

Booking Jumpstart was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. They kept our dance floor packed from their first song to their last song. They were energetic, and they played a huge mix of music, pleasing every age group at our wedding. They are so, so talented, and I would definitely book them again for any party going forward. Their music put a smile on EVERY guest's face, even on those who were unable to dance. They really, really completed our night. They went above and beyond accommodating our special requests-- they learned the exact version of our first dance song that we wanted, they let us make a playlist of music to be played during the band breaks, and they led us out in our exit in a New Orleans second line played by their horn section. We really, really, really loved them, and booking them will be the BEST decision of your wedding. They are so talented and are so kind!!!!!!!!!

Jumpstart was awesome! We had several comments about how great the band was, and I know that personally I couldn't stay off the dance floor. :) They were so accommodating about what songs to play at what time and made sure to check in with me the week leading up the the wedding, which was very appreciated. I would definitely recommend them!!

Mike was super easy to work with. The band was great. The dance floor was hopping the entire time. Mike made a special playlist for our wedding. They even tweaked the father/daughter dance song for us. It was very special. We were also able to offer up suggestions and if they didn't know them they learned them. The band is such an important part of the wedding and it is scary going into it because we were not able to hear them in person before our wedding. Mike assured us that they do a lot of weddings and their ratings are very good. Well, he did not disappoint or over sell himself or the band. They were awesome. If I had it to do over, they would still be my band.

FIVE stars all the way. Jumpstart was incredible! Super high energy, got everyone dancing, and kept the party going all night! Do not hesitate to hire these guys! They were professional from the word go, easy to work with and put on a great show. I would hire them again in a minute!

Mike performed for my daughters wedding last weekend. Everything was perfect and the music was great. Mike gave us plenty of options to choose from and was even willing to learn a few songs that were important to us. There was never a gripe, he was always available and eager to please. Parents need a lot of hand holding during a wedding and Mike was very gracious and understanding. The only thing people really remember about a wedding is the music and we are still getting compliments. Mike did an acoustic set outdoors for a cocktail hour and then moved to the big stage for the dancing and partying. I also thought his price was very fair. He has my highest recommendation.

Hiring Jumpstart as our wedding band was one of the best decisions we made! We began looking for bands early in our planning process, and I'm glad we locked this group in when we did. Everyone at our wedding had such a blast!! I saw people dancing who I’ve never seen dance at previous weddings! The band did an excellent job at reading the crowd and playing all the best songs to keep everyone on the dancefloor. We had about 175 people in attendance, and I was so surprised every time I looked around and realized hardly anyone was sitting down! People were telling me how sore they were for days after the wedding because of how much they danced (haha!). I would highly recommend Jumpstart as your wedding band. If you're looking for some entertainment to keep your guests dancing and having fun, this is your band!

I should also mention that working with the band in the planning phase was a breeze! Mike was so professional and timely in his responses. He kept us in the loop of everything, and really tuned into the kind of wedding we were wanting, and they delivered! Outside of the fun and exciting entertainment they provided, Jumpstart was a dream to work with!

Could not have been happier that we chose Jumpstart to play for wedding of over 200 guests at Pecan Springs Ranch!! Everyone at the wedding was asking how we found them because they were so good. The dance floor was never empty!! They made sure to learn all of our requested songs and played a wide range of music from motown, to rock, to country. I would hire Jumpstart again no questions asked. I wedding will be one to remember because of Jumpstart!

We hired Jumpstart upon a friend's recommendation. Mike Murillo was very knowledgeable about how things usually work at a wedding and gave us good advice. He promptly responded to emails and phone calls, and accommodated all our requests, which I greatly appreciated. The members are all very talented professional musicians and vocalists who perform all genres of music. They had everyone out on the dance floor having a blast. This band is AWESOME! Book them for your next event. You won't be sorry!!!

Jumpstart truly put the cherry on top of my wedding. I could have this wedding all over again mainly because I danced the entire night away and loved every minute of it. Jumpstart was absolutely AMAZING from start to finish. They made my daughter's wedding absolutely fantastic. We had a night to remember forever.

Jumpstart was phenomenal to work with!! They were incredibly accommodating regarding our music preferences and the timeline of the evening. They learned my husband's college school song to play during our cake cutting which was so much fun. They are very talented and had the dance floor PACKED the entire night!! The band went above and beyond for us! Mike was so wonderful to work with: calm, nice, helpful, accommodating. We had the jazz portion of the band lead us in and out of the ballroom New Orleans style which was a huge hit! The pianist also played for us during the cocktail hour. Overall, I could not have been happier with the performance. We are grateful to Jumpstart for helping make our wedding so fun!

An Unforgettable Evening with The Band that Rocked the House

What an Excellent choice we made in selecting Jumpstart as our Band for the 400 guest wedding reception we hosted for our daughter and son-in-law at The Four Seasons Hotel Austin, Texas! This was our Second experience hiring Jumpstart and just like our first they simply brought the house down with their High Energy and Wide Range of music! What a memorable Night; it was full of surprise and excitement from the introduction of the bride and groom whom were escorted in by the horn section of the band to an amazing jazz ensemble right into their 1st dance to, “Nothing can change this Love” by Sam Cook, to our request of, “ Hava Nagila” and numerous other electrifying songs motivating and packing the dance floor to its capacity until the very Last dance, “Your Song” by Elton John ! And then their horn section played as they escorted the newlyweds out of the ballroom to their get away car! At the end of the evening we were simply left with wanting more!!!! During dinner they played a light set so everyone could enjoy their meal, it was perfect! And Last minute my daughter and son in law requested that the Texas Fight Song be played before she cut her cake and Ole Miss Dixie Song be played before he cut his cake and they happily learned the Ole Miss Dixie song quickly and nailed it! From the start Mike Murillo the band leader worked closely with us! We met several times with Mike per our request and he worked with my husband on a choreographed exchange during my husbands welcome speech ( 5 legal pages ,hand written long!!) I cannot say enough about the Enormous part Mike Murillo and his band Jumpstart played in the success of our celebration of the newlywed couple! It was an Unforgettable Evening full of love, laughter and dancing alongside the Band That Rocked The House! We love you Jumpstart and so did ALL our Guest !

JUMPSTART band was amazing! The had the guest dancing from beginning to end. I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a special event. Their website does not do them justice on what they really sound like in person. I was asked multiple times during the wedding where did I find this incredible band. Mike was wonderful as MC for the evening orchestrating the entire wedding time line. I can't thank you all enough for making our daughters wedding a perfect evening. It was magical!

JUMPSTART was great! Mike was very easy to work with throughout the booking and planning process. And during the wedding reception, the band did a great job keeping the energy level high and making the night a very fun one for my groom and I and all of our guests! I would definitely recommend JUMPSTART!

I have now used Jumpstart for two upscale client appreciation holiday parties. I cannot say enough about how much everyone at my parties enjoyed Jumpstart! EVERYONE hit the dance floor and didn't want to sit down. The music mix was excellent and very lively. The vocals were absolutely amazing and the atmosphere created by the interaction of the band members with the guests was really fun and inviting. I had at least 10 guests tell me how much they loved the band and ask me where I had found them and how much they cost to hire. I even had one client tell me he liked them so much, he was planning to hire them for his daughter's wedding in 2015. I would definitely recommend JUMPSTART to anyone who wants a very "tight" high energy band with a great mix of music and tremendous vocals. They really are a band for all ages.
