Loved working with Julie Pepin
Julie Pepin Photography beautifully captured both our Shik wedding and traditional American ceremony. Her expertise in film photography shone through, adding a unique and timeless quality to our photos. We especially appreciated her talent for capturing candid moments, which brought out the genuine emotions of our special days. The use of vibrant colors in her work truly made our photos pop, reflecting the joy and love we felt.
Throughout our time with Julie, we found her to be sweet and accommodating. While we received some lovely family portraits, it was her ability to focus on the authentic, unscripted moments that we treasured the most. This attention to detail in capturing the essence of our celebrations was truly commendable.
In terms of feedback, it would have been beneficial to have clearer communication regarding the timeline for receiving the final edited photos. Despite this minor point, we are overwhelmingly happy with the outcome and cannot thank Julie enough for preserving our memories so beautifully.
Overall, Julie Pepin Photography provided us with a collection of photos that not only encapsulated the spirit of both our ceremonies but also showcased her artistic flair and dedication to her craft. Calm, professional, and incredibly talented
Julie was an absolute joy to have photograph our wedding. She arrived early to our first location and was immediately in the thick of things, hanging back to photograph natural moments and also expertly herding family/wedding party when needed to get group shots. Neither my wife nor I have much experience being photographed, but Julie made our pre-ceremony portrait session fun and natural. And the absolute range of emotion and tone in the final gallery—from moody, ethereal portraits to energetic reception shots full of love and laughter—made me feel like I got to experience the whole day all over again. Highly recommend! -

Julie felt like family day of. She captured all the candid moments we were hoping for without feeling forced to pose or get the shot.
We cannot thank Julie enough for the wonderful wedding photography experience.
I was so worried to feel awkward or posey the entire time and I voiced that to Julie and she reassured us that she would be there to capture everything in real time and never force it. And she did just that! And our pictures were amazing! I still swoon over them daily and feel like they’re fresh out of an editorial magazine. So grateful to have found Julie! -

Best wedding photographer!
Julie is so wonderful to work with! Highly recommend if you are looking for beautiful photos. She has an eye for photography and has so many ideas. She shot our engagement photos first, which were spectacular! We were supposed to have a wedding in 2020, but we had to cancel, postpone, and our plans were in a limbo for a bit. Julie was very accommodating and flexible and worked with us on our new plans. When I was researching photographers, I was looking for one specifically that shot at our original planned venue. I noticed right off the bat, Julie’s style and the way she shot photos really stood out. Recommend looking at her journal, you will fall in love! The day of, she was calm and worked with us throughout the jam packed day. If you are looking for beautiful wedding/engagement/milestone photos, we highly recommend Julie! -

Julie was absolutely phenomenal to work with. We initially fell in love with her artistic and unique style of photography. Through our time together, we got to know how down to earth and personable she was. She even offered to drive us to our ceremony and reception sites to make logistics easier and get more opportunities for photos. The photos turned out to be so incredible that we are having a hard time deciding which ones to print/frame! We really can’t recommend her enough! -

Wedding Photography
When I first saw Julie’s work online, I knew we needed to work with her for our wedding! She has an amazing talent for capturing the essence and emotion of an event through her photographs.
Our wedding was this past August and we were so excited to look through the beautiful shots that Julie had captured! It allowed us to relive those special moments and we can’t wait to look back on these for years to come. Julie was an absolute pleasure to work with and was able to subtly incorporate herself in throughout the event while making sure to document all of the momentous memories.

We knew we wanted to hire Julie before we even had a date or venue set for our wedding. It was important to us to find a photographer who used film, and no other photographer had the intimacy and artistry in their photos that Julie brings. She captured beautifully composed formal portraits, and managed to capture sweet candid moments of our family, our friends, our dog, and everyone and everything else. We love every photo so much. Her relaxed nature helped us feel at ease, and she was incredibly efficient and professional when necessary – everyone commented on what a pro she is. I'm so grateful we have these photos as memories of the best day, and as art that is ours to keep forever. Looking forward to having Julie document our family's milestones for many years to come! -

I don't think I have the words to adequately describe how happy we are that we chose to work with Julie for our wedding photos. She was kind and responsive from the very beginning, and she was such a joy to be around on our wedding day. She made us feel so comfortable in front of her camera, giving us direction while also leaving space for us to authentically experience the day together. We knew we were going to love our photos, but somehow they still vastly exceeded our expectations. I cried looking through them the first time, and we both audibly gasped at photo after photo. They are all objectively fantastic photos, but what really struck me was how perfectly Julie captured just how happy we were all day long. I would not change a single thing about our experience or our photos. We are so grateful, and cannot recommend Julie enough. -

Couldn’t have asked for a better photographer!!
If you’re on the hunt for a photographer, look no further!! Julie is worth every dime, and I guarantee she will blow you out of the water! Aside from her talent, she was great to work with. She was quick and responsive to our many questions throughout the process. Seeing her excitement behind the camera really made us feel comfortable in front of the lens which made the pictures feel so natural. She captured every detail and let her creativity run. Our pictures came out stunning, we cannot stop looking at them!! 10/10 would recommend her, hands down! -

BOOK JULIE NOW! Julie is a phenomenal ARTIST! Each photo she takes is a true work of art and are wedding gifts we will forever cherish. Her photos are filled with light, color, and movement. They are breathtaking. We agonized when choosing photos for our wedding album because each one is just beautiful.
Julie has a gift for photography, but also for people. She wrangled our 20 person bridal party and enormous family with total ease, patience, and warmth. She was so creative and kind navigating wheelchairs, canes, and different situations. My mom kept telling me how wonderful Julie was with my grandparents and everyone at the wedding. Even though we had a large wedding, she somehow managed to capture so many different moments and people throughout the day. Julie was also a tremendous calming presence for my husband and I on our wedding day - she made taking photos during "golden hour" after our ceremony feel like such an intimate experience. She was also incredible navigating our wild hora and hours of dancing - she got right in there and captured phenomenal action shots.
Julie was so generous throughout the entire planning process and after our wedding day as well. She is an expert communicator, super responsive to emails, and I was blown away by how quickly we received our photos. We purchased a package with a wedding album and art print and am so glad we did.
I am so so grateful to have connected with Julie and you will be too. Julie is the best wedding gift you can give yourself! -

Julie is a photography wizard. To quote my MOH: “This is the best engagement photographer I’ve ever seen.”
I can stress enough the quality of Julie’s work and artistry, as well as her commitment to her clients. During our engagement shoot, towards the end when I was tired, I tried to deflect going to our last stop. Julie insisted, and we ended up with beautiful sunset pictures at the Golden Gate Bridge.
Every time Julie went above and beyond what was asked. We ended up with loads of pictures from different scenery that blew me away.
On our wedding day, she did a fantastic job capturing not just us, but also our friends, families and the general feelings and vibe. When I saw them, it was like reliving the day again. I cried.
TL;DR - she’s amazing. -

We are so grateful to have had Julie as our photographer. We fell in love with her portfolio on her website, especially her ability to capture such gorgeous shots. Looking through our own wedding photos now, we truly believe that she has the ability to capture the dreaminess of the wedding day.
She also has a very kind, unassuming personality that allowed us to all immediately feel comfortable in front of the camera. To be honest, we did not even notice all the candids she captured, which turned out to some of our favorite and most precious moments.
We were most impressed by her efficiency. She made every minute and shot count. She ensured we were on schedule and did not waste a single second!
Her pricing is also really reasonable, and we could afford to focus our energy on other aspects of the wedding. A rarity in the Bay Area!
Overall, the whole process went smoothly, freeing our energy elsewhere. We couldn't have been more pleased. -

Julie was an angel from start to finish. Extremely reliable and quick with responses which made everything so easy. My husband and I were huge fans of her work and knew we were going to get creative, memorable shots -and we were right! She was professional and very patient when we were running behind. We had a blast shooting with her and loved how she knew all the best shots and angels at our huge venue's property, even on the spot. Our photos are absolute perfection. We constantly get compliments from our friends and family about how well they turned out even to this day, and we got married months ago! Julie was the first vendor we booked and 100% the best decision we ever made! We are so, so glad we booked her for our Engagement Session and whole Wedding Day! She is extremely easy to work with, gave great direction for a camera-awkward couple (while nailing our vibe), and the final photos are to die for (words can’t express how much we’re in love with them). What really stood out about Julie:
+ Her photography is pure art, joy, and her style is like no other. Her work really stands out from ordinary wedding photos.
+ Julie captures the most dreamy angles and we’re still receiving so many compliments from friends/family; as well as being asked permission to post our wedding photos from wedding social media channels!
+ Julie made us feel really comfortable (like I said, we’re pretty camera-awkward - though you wouldn’t be able to tell with the amazing direction and photos she took) and we had a blast with her for 10 hrs the day of.
+ She accommodated all requests and is always game to try what you’re interested in (like going to Disneyland!)
+ She was like a ninja (seriously!), she took so many natural moments/emotions and it didn’t feel like there was a photographer around us.

During the early stages of our wedding planning, my wife and I were almost settled with not having a professional photographer for our wedding. We were already planning to have a simple wedding and a teatime reception to follow. But mainly, we were feeling the heavy pressure of our tight budget. I’m happy to say that all of this changed when we were introduced to Julie Pepin.
Julie was incredibly kind and very professional from the very beginning. We chatted via email about the details of the wedding. She was always specific and detailed with her information and inquires, which made the entire process very easy! After having chatted with Julie through several emails, my wife and I couldn’t wait to meet her in person.
On the day of our wedding, Julie arrived early in the morning, prompt and prepared, to take our “getting ready” photos, which turned out amazing! Around noontime, we continued taking photos with the entire bridal party and even shared lunch together. Julie was an absolute delight!
Our entire wedding was held at a botanical garden, which Julie was incredibly pro at utilizing all the different plants and trees as natural backdrops for our photos. Our entire time with Julie felt so natural and pleasant. It especially made our more intimate photo shoots (i.e. bride and groom gazing at each other’s eyes) very fun and comfortable to do. Julie was always active during the wedding. She never once shied away from taking photos that she needed for us.
It didn’t take long for us to receive our photos. They say a couple’s wedding day happens like a blur to them, which was very true for us. Thankfully, we had Julie to capture all the many moments that seem to have passed us by so quickly! It was a truly special for my wife and I to be able to look through our pictures together. Julie captured the very essence of our big day, and thanks to her we will always have that with us. Thank you, Julie! You are a blessing to us. -

I loved working with Julie every step along the way from the initial consolation to the final engagement photos. The service is well above our expectations. The price is very very reasonable as well. She is so attentive and planned the whole photography process so well. Julie went above and beyond and drove to Big Sur the day before to find some of the best spots for us.
We loved every photo and plan to frame them and put up a photo wall in our ceremony.
We really wanted to hire her for our wedding day as well but unfortunately she is booked on that day. Book early!! -

Julie was a dream come true! We really did not have a plan for which photos we would need beyond the ceremony and dancing. Julie took us on a walk around the venue and found wonderful photo ops for us. We have hundreds of photos of the day, and she seems to have been everywhere. Every one of our family memebers have found their own set of photos to treasure. We really enjoyed having her and definitely recommend her to anyone! -

With less than two weeks prior to the wedding, I changed our plans for her to start shooting two hours ahead of schedule. Julie was completely professional and amenable to our vision. My husband says Julie made him feel and look like a male model :) -- I felt beautiful as well. Julie also worked with the venue to capture all the little things that went into decoration. Julie took amazing pictures of our ceremony at our church. Our Pastor said she was the best photographer he had ever seen because he barely detected her. Other photographers have given her photos of our wedding high praise and I am still amazed at her talent. No one will regret hiring her.

Since sharing our wedding photos with friends and family, I have already received two inquiries about how much she charges and whether or not she is available for baby birthday parties! :D I am so happy I found her online during my frantic search for a wedding photographer last year. I was immediately drawn to her style because it's a beautiful blend of artistic photography and simple documentarian photography. Everything looks effortless and candid, but also beautifully stylized.
My husband and I never did engagement photos, so we had never been "models" prior to our wedding day. I was worried we'd be awkward and impossible to photograph (oh the things you stress about as a bride!), but Julie was so relaxed that it helped put as at ease. She was easygoing, fun, and sweet, and not loud or pushy with her ideas - which I appreciated! She gave us a loose idea of the pose and then clicked away! My husband and I both had a great time with it.
I would definitely recommend Julie for all your photography needs! She is great at capturing the beauty of your day in the most unique way! -

Allison Sent on 10/26/2017Julie is absolutely amazing! She is truly gifted at her profession. In addition, she makes you feel comfortable, confident, beautiful, and is super responsive by email. The most important thing for us, when planning our wedding, was having photos that would last a lifetime and captured the emotions throughout the day. That is exactly what we have. I am obsessed with looking at them. I get all the "feels" every time! It's like I'm back at our wedding day (which is good because the day flew by)! I was nervous about booking Julie she was based in LA and my wedding was in Michigan. In addition, I'm a plus-size bride and she didn't have any photos of plus size people on her website. All the "what-ifs" made me anxious (what if her flight is delayed, what if there is a storm and she can't come in, etc...). I was honest with Julie and she reassured me that everything would work out. I couldn't be happier!! If you are considering Julie I can' t recommend her enough! Hiring Julie is one of the best decisions we made when planning for our big day!
