Jose is an absolute gem and is one of the most talented photographers!! He is the nicest human you will meet and the work he does is beyond five stars. My wedding photos are absolute perfection! Jose came recommended by my wedding planner among a few others and I originally passed on him because I had seen some work of his that was a bit darker and less modern for my style (which now I know was his older work). However, after seeing my wedding planner post recent work of his on IG which was very light, bright and airy I fell absolutely in love and we booked him right away. His photography style is unique and so beautiful and he captures everything so eloquently. From our first initial consult to our wedding day, Jose was an absolute pleasure to work with and he captured our day so perfectly. He is very responsive and plans the day so you won’t have any stress from his end which is even more important when you’re planning a destination wedding. He makes you feel comfortable behind the camera and I promise you’ll be wowed by the result. An added bonus was waking up the day after our wedding to instagram photos I could share and an entire sneak peak album!! I don’t think he slept that night but it was the most amazing thing to relive the big day that next morning with my husband through his gorgeous photos!! We now consider Jose a friend and know if we ever need more photos we’ll be traveling back to Puerto Rico! -

Our contract was communicated clearly, leaving no room for confusion. We were especially impressed with Jose's online portfolio, which beautifully showcased his exceptional work and made us confident in our choice. We opted for the highest package, and we do not regret it one bit. Jose and his team provided exceptional service and delivered stunning photos that exceeded our expectations. On our wedding day, their flexibility was remarkable. Despite the usual wedding day chaos, Jose and his team remained calm, cool, and collected. They ensured a seamless process from getting ready at Hotel El Convento to the ceremony and reception, capturing every precious moment without missing a beat. What truly set Jose apart was the genuine care he showed for us and our special day. He met with us two days before the wedding to go over the timeline, asking us about our expectations and ensuring he highlighted the most important moments. This personal touch made all the difference. Jose Ruiz has not only been our wedding photographer but has also become a lifelong friend in the process. My husband and I could not be happier with our decision to hire him. Jose captured every detail so flawlessly, and we are incredibly thankful to have these memories to cherish forever. Jose is an extremely talented and professional photographer! But most of all, he’s an amazingly kind and fun person. Your photographer will help set the mood for most of your day, so to us it was very important that not only they were talented, but also they had that magic touch and attitude to help you through your day. Jose is an all-in package!
In our case, when tensions ran high at the beginning of our love story shoot (because the groom and I were running late) Jose kept us cool and immediately turned our moods around. We knew then that our wedding day would be amazing, and it was!
The wedding was perfect. Jose integrated seamlessly to the fun mood in the bridal suite and kept it up through the whole night. All our pictures turned out great, from suites to ceremony to the reception, and Jose had all the right prompts to get us variety of poses without feeling inauthentic. For us, it was most important to have pictures together, and the rest to be candids with our guests. Jose captured it all perfectly. When we got to our honeymoon, we already had a preview of so many beautiful pictures, and he definitely over-delivered on the final count, which we got less than a month after. We can’t thank him enough for taking such care in preserving the memories of our big day! -

Jose's skill and talent speak for themselves, but beyond his undeniable ability to capture special moments, what this review is meant to convey is how amazing it was to work with him. He took the time to get to know us through engagement photos and coffee ahead of the wedding, which made us feel like he genuinely knew that the photos would be better if he took the time to meet us beforehand and he was absolutely right! We have told everyone, that Jose was the best decision we made in regards to our wedding (and 2 months later we still feel that way!). -

Best Photographer, Amazing Experience
Jose's amazing! He's personable, gives great direction, takes amazing photos, and delivered everything within a month of our wedding!
Where to start? I was nervous about the photographer for so many reasons... I don't know how to pose, I don't speak Spanish, everyone tells you not to pick the wrong photographer. Jose made all my worries disappear. First, he's so personable and took time to get to know us before our wedding day so that we didn't feel awkward with him on the day. The day of he gave simple instructions that made taking the photos easy and fun. And now that we have the prints, we are obsessed! I look like I know how to pose! We told him our vision for our photos and he delivered. He was also fun to work with and surprised us with how quickly he delivered quality products! If I ever need a professional photographer again, I'm booking Jose. -

We had Jose photograph our wedding and our love story photos. His level of technique and skill is superior to the point that he makes it looks super easy! Jose was genuine, personable, patient, and overall so easy to be relaxed around. We had top highlight photos in our inbox before we even ended the reception! He will leave you with breathtaking photos to last you a lifetime! I’m already looking for an excuse to book him again! -

Dicen que una buena imagen vale más que mil palabras, y mi esposa y yo les podemos decir que las imágenes de Jose valen más de un millón!
Uno de nuestros miedos era no poder capturar los momentos más especiales de nuestra boda, pero Jose hizo un trabajo fuera de serie y nos ayudo a asegurarnos de tener recuerdos muy muy especiales de nuestro gran día! Jose y su equipo hicieron un excelente trabajo guiándonos durante el photoshoot de novios en los mejores lugares de nuestro venue de manera muy eficiente gracias a su gran experiencia en esta industria, capturando unas fotos mejores de las que nos hubiéramos podido imaginar!
Ellos demostraron mucha creatividad y buena actitud en el proceso, y se aseguraron de encontrar los mejores ángulos, iluminación, naturaleza, y aun mas importante, hicieron que nuestras fotos se vean muy naturales, y capturaron esa emoción de felicidad y amor en nuestros rostros.
Durante el evento en sí, tomaron unas fotos espectaculares y muy naturales de mi esposa y yo disfrutando nuestro gran día con nuestras familias y amistades. Ellos siempre estuvieron disponibles y en nuestra vista para cuando deseábamos tomarnos fotos con cualquiera de nuestros invitados.
Podemos decir que gracias a Jose, nosotros recordaremos nuestro gran día de una manera aun más especial debido a tantos momentos muy significativos para nosotros que él ayudo a capturar. Un millón de gracias Jose! -

Incredible
Jose is so incredible! He exceeded any and all of our expectations. Our photos are unbelievably gorgeous. He was efficient, cool, and such a pleasure to be around. He was flexible and captured every single one of our dream shots! As a shocking bonus, he sent our reception photos to us within 12 hours, and the wedding gallery was sent 3 days later! Can’t sing his praises enough. -

Jose worked with us in rebooking our wedding on 4 different dates due to Covid and each time he was incredibly professional and understanding. On the day of the wedding he was amazing at guiding us through what photos would look good while also making sure we were relaxed and the process was as natural as possible. He gave us a preview of our wedding pictures on the night of which was so incredible to be able to see so quickly! The quality is amazing and he really captured every part of the day. Highly recommend Jose for your wedding or special event! -

Stop Looking for a Photographer and Just Book Jose!
Best photographer in PR! We got married during covid and never had professional pictures done. When I started looking for a vendor in PR Jose obviously stood out. He was able to accommodate our schedule (we were only in town a few days) and got all the shots we asked for and more in less than 2 hours. It was perfect! He was professional, efficient and so much fun! Our pictures came out better than I could imagine, his eye is amazing. Stop reading reviews and just go book him! -

Jose was recommended by our wedding planned and after taking a quick glance at his work we had no doubt we wanted to hire him for our special day. He did our engagement pictures and the result was reassuring. That also allowed us to bond with him and break the ice before the wedding day. He’s professional, responsive and just an overall pleasure to work with. We also received a preview quick after the wedding while we waited for the final pictures. Jose Ruiz came highly recommended to me from my venue (Condado Vanderbilt) and it was obvious why. The pictures are absolutely stunning! He did such a great job capturing the spirit of the night. My husband and I aren't much of picture takers so we were worried we would look awkward but we didn't. Jose made us feel so comfortable the whole time. He was efficient with our time so we could spend plenty of it with our friends and family. He was professional, super communicative and so talented. I am SO pleased with the finished product. 10/10 would recommend! -

We are still in shock of how amazing the pictures of our love story shoot turned out. We had an amazing time with José, he made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, made sure to get the best shots and certainly knew where to take great pictures.
The day of the wedding he was there early, greeted us with smiles and laughter. He went to our rooms and spent a good amount of time with each of us, making sure he had captured every single feeling of that day. He was always on the move and didn't miss a moment of our ceremony and reception. José is a joy to be around, always smiling and willing to take all the pictures you want and how you want them. We are grateful for his hard work and for capturing the most precious memories of our wedding day. If you want the best pictures for your wedding José is the one. Photography was the most important vendor for us, and Jose Ruiz was the PERFECT choice! We were looking for someone to capture our special day in a way that we will always cherish and he did that and more. Every image that he took was stunning! Not only is he so creative and such a visionary, but he is a kind and passionate individual. He went above and beyond for my husband and I, and we truly enjoyed working with him. He makes you feel comfortable and at ease, and that is exactly what you need on a day filled with so many emotions. He captured everything perfectly! He is also extremely prompt and professional. He's well-known in the industry and is the best of the best! Our experience would not have been the same without him. His work is so outstanding that we have chosen to work with him twice, first for our intimate elopement (pictured), and again in November 2020 for our large wedding celebration that was pushed back due to Covid-19. -

Jose was AMAZING during our wedding in Puerto Rico! We had a multi-cultural destination wedding and he was so awesome at ensuring that everything would be amazing! We had some rain right before our vow exchange that caused some delays and had to move our ceremony under the veranda. He was great and very flexible and he reassured us that we would get great shots with his vision and ours. He was so personable and humble. He shared personal stories and truly got to know us and what our expectations and style was. He even took my husband for a haircut at 7am the day of our ceremonies!! WHO DOES THAT! Hes super amazing and it helps that he has a great relationship with so many vendors so you could see the flow and ease that everyone had with one another. Our photos were awesome!!! I highly recommend! We had some rules and certain things we had to do culturally and him and his team were very flexible and open to new ideas and experiences. -

Jose was the first vendor we booked. He did my best friend’s wedding pictures and they turned out so beautiful, I knew without a doubt I wanted Jose to be our photographer as well. José Ruiz is a master is his craft. He directed us with love on how to get the most beautiful yet natural shots. He was able to capture the beauty and the emotions of the day. He made a regular couple with no modeling experience look absolutely amazing.
He extremely professional and responsible. The outcomes of his work are incredibly breathtaking and memories we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
His personality put us at ease and helped us feel comfortable on our special day.
We also had an engagement session of photography taken in old SanJuan a few days before the wedding. It was a morning of intermittent rain, yet José Ruiz was able to capture magical moments under the rain and the sun.
We are forever grateful for his work. He’s absolutely the best.

We hired José shortly after seeing his work at a friend’s wedding. Simply, José has a knack for capturing that moment right after you stop posing and you begin to authentically smile, laugh, and enjoy the moment. His level of professionalism, genuine kindness, and his ability to draw on his background of architecture, made our photos like no other!
My husband and I did an engagement shoot before our wedding day. We were nervous about being photographed. In the end, we were most grateful to have met and worked with José in our engagement shoot because on the wedding day it felt like being reunited with an old friend. On the day of the wedding, José and his team made us and our family feel very comfortable and our experience unique. They arrived early and stayed late to make sure they captured all the important moments we desired.
We received a preview of a few photographs the day of the wedding and shortly after received all the wonderful photos from the entire wedding. Investing in a strong photographer is a decision you will never regret. So much happened on our wedding day, and thanks to José we are able to relive those experiences whenever we desire! -

Luckily for us, Jose's photography services were included as part of the wedding prize package. Now I'd been following Jose on Instagram for awhile, so when we were told that Jose would be our photographer, I was stoked!
Shortly after getting the call from la Concha's wedding team, we flew out to San Juan, PR to meet with the wedding vendors and take our engagement photos with Jose. As soon as we met, I knew we were in great hands. Our engagement session was super fun and Jose made it so easy and natural for us. We loved our photos so much that we just knew our wedding photos would be even more perfect and they were! Jose was a pleasure to work with during our wedding and I cannot thank him enough for capturing our wedding so beautifully.
Jose is not only an amazing photographer, he's also very humble and genuine, which means everything to me and I cannot recommend him enough to anyone getting engaged, married, celebrating a milestone, anything! His work is truly breathtaking, just check out our photos if you still have any doubt...haha.

From the classic ones to the “mission” ones! We had a photo with a wall in the middle without seeing each other until the wedding ceremony!! We took photos around OSJ after our ceremony at El Convento and Jose pointed out the governors motorcade nearby. To our surprise the governor got out and invited us to take photos inside of his mansion, something we new was special at the time but didn't realize just how special until we saw it and the selfie of Jose, us and the gov made the news and circulated online!
We worked with Jose for an additional two hours after the ceremony and have no doubt he fully captured the moment and our love. We just got married a few weeks ago and cannot wait to see the finished work. I know it will be beautiful though; Jose is a master at what he does. Thank you again for being apart of our day! -

We wanted an artist that captured more than staged photos, we wanted someone to capture hidden moments and emotions that would tell the tale of our special day. We were looking for someone with great use of lighting, composition, and color. Every time we looked through Jose's albums or read his blog, we just fell in love with his photos over and over again.
In June of 2014, we visited Puerto Rico to meet with our vendors and have our engagement photos. My husband and I would never make it on America's Next Top Model, so needless to say, we were stiff, awkward and unsure of what to do going into it. When you meet Jose, you immediately feel at ease. He understands most people aren't used to being photographed and coaches you through it. Our engagement photos surpassed our expectations. They were so different than every "Save the Date" magnet we've ever received, it really set the tone for the wedding and got our friends and family really excited.
Throughout the year of wedding planning, my husband and I followed Jose on social media. We gushed over his recent works and congratulated his successes both personally and professionally. We really became friends, long distance friends! When the wedding day came, we couldn't wait to see him!!
Jose, understands how much time and effort brides put into wedding planning and captured every detail from my earrings, to my shoes. I told him i wanted to look skinny, tall, and tan, and he made sure to position me in the most flattering light. From getting ready, to the ceremony, to the reception, Jose captured it all, better than I could have imagined. He dresses impeccably and didn't disappoint. Furthermore, many of my guests came up to me complementing how sweet and friendly he was. We are truly blessed to have met such a genuine and talented person who we can call our friend. User2640887 Sent on 06/09/2016Sure he seems great when you talk to him and meet him, and he will take some great pics and even post some on social media the day after your wedding to get you excited. But good luck trying to get the finished product that you paid for or getting in touch with him after that. We got married in July, 2015 and reached out to him countless times after with no response. Only after we had a lawyer contact him 8 months after the wedding did we finally get our album. Now we are almost a year from our wedding and we still don't have the 8x10 photos that were part of our contract. Once again, he is not returning our emails or our calls. Guess he will be getting a call from our lawyer again. To those who recently used him, good luck getting what you paid for. You may want to lawyer up. To those looking for a photography, don't waste your time.......find a real professional that has it together.
