The perfect wedding cake!

I can’t say enough good things about Jo’s Custom Cakes! They set up a really nice tasting for us so we were able to make an informed decision about flavors and walk through all of our questions with them. My wife had some dietary restrictions and they were able to handle these with no issue. They were extremely responsive to emails and messages and made sure to get plenty of feedback from us to deliver the cake that we wanted. They even made some sugar sculptures of our pets to hide around the cake which was a really fun touch! The cake was unbelievably beautiful and tasted amazing. If I need a custom cake for an event in the future this is the only bakery I’ll be going to.

Incredible!!!

Oh goodness, I don't even know where to start with how much I love working with Jo. Jo has been a part of creating cakes and catering some family events for us for over 10 years now, and has always gone above and beyond with how good everything tastes and the wonderful service she provides. When I got engaged in June 2020, she was the first vendor we reached out to to lock in our wedding date (almost a year and a half away) because I knew there was no way we'd go with anyone else. My now husband got to meet Jo for the first time at our food and cake tasting, and he was just as impressed as I always have been! She made the experience so fun and we couldn't have been happier with the entire process. We had many ideas and changes throughout the planning process, and Jo and her team were always quick to respond or offer up a great idea! She and her team had a perfect understanding of what we wanted to accomplish for our wedding, and if there was one vendor I knew I didn't need to worry about, it was Jo! She and her sweet mother even came out to our venue with me prior to the wedding day to take a look at everything, and was always very communicative and clear about what needed to be done, taken care of, who needed to provide what, etc. She knocked everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, out of the park. She even coordinated bartending services for us when our original plan fell through a few weeks out, and her staff took wonderful care to make sure my husband and I got to eat everything on our wedding day!! Our cocktail hour included a mashed potato bar and tomato soups and grilled cheeses, which our guests were tickled over! For dinner, we did a mix of southern comfort food, including barbeque, chicken, rolls, mac and cheese, green beans, and hashbrown casserole (Which has now become my favorite dish!). We had guests that came up to us raving about how great everything tasted, and that they were shocked and happy that they were allowed to have portions of everything offered (rather than having to choose one or the other main dishes). We had vegans and vegetarians that absolutely loved their meals as well! When it came to desserts, I knew no one could do it better than Jo! Our wedding cake (snickerdoodle and almond flavored) and groom's cake (triple chocolate flavored) were perfectly decorated and tasted AMAZING. Jo also crafted the perfect outdoor s'mores bar for us, and went above and beyond what I had imagined for it! We wanted to add some fun extras like candy toppings, and Jo created a whole MENU display of different s'mores combinations, added cookies, and other wonderful treats! It was one of our and our guests favorite parts of the whole evening!! The food was so good, we literally ordered it again for our Christmas dinner this year! There aren't enough words to express how grateful we all are for Jo and her team, and how thankful we are that they were a part of the best day of our lives. We have already talked with Jo about our next cake project and cannot wait to keep working with her in the future!! If you need a caterer or baker for your event, wedding, birthday, etc, you should stop now and just call Jo because she will handle everything with perfection!!

Fantastic!

We were looking for something specific for our wedding cake flavor. Since we were having a winter wedding, we wanted to have a heartier cake. We decided on Carrot Cake for the wedding cake and German Chocolate for the grooms cupcakes.
We did tastings with 6 wedding cake bakers, and no one wowed us until Jo! We did a tasting with her and we were wowed! Her Carrot Cake w/White Chocolate Cream Cheese Buttercream was fantastic! And her German Chocolate Cupcakes were the bomb! She even made one cupcake for us without any nuts for my great niece who has an allergy! Jo is so kind and easy to work with! And the cake was beautiful! Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a cake that not only looks beautiful, but tastes fantastic!

Outstanding Cake and Customer Service

Jo's cakes are amazing. Dense yet moist. We had three flavors--strawberry, lemon and traditional vanilla/almond. The strawberry was everyone's, including myself, favorite. She did an amazing job with the custom groom's cake. Everything was perfection.

These ladies are the best at what they do! Love the cakes that they made us and not only were they absolutely gorgeous but they tasted like heaven. Jo made a grooms cake that looked like and tasted similar to bacon. The biggest hit of the night! I picked out a cake a like via Pinterest and Jo and her team beyond delivered what I asked for.

Jo's cakes are amazing!!! We had originally ordered our wedding cake and then I decided to order a surprise Tardis cake for my husband for our rehearsal dinner. After tasting numerous other cakes, none other compared. Also, she was very accomodating with my non dairy needs. The Tardis cake was peanut butter and chocolated frosting, which was amazing!! Our wedding cake was 3 different flavors, white chocolate, strawberry and lemon. If you are looking for a tasty, moist, beautiful and creative cake I hihgly recommend definitely give Jo's Cakes and Catering!

They did my children's birthday cake earlier this year and did our wedding cake in September. Both cakes were amazing! They looked wonderful, tasted delicious, and were moist. I will definitely be using them in the future and I have already been suggesting her to anyone looking for a cake :)

If you are looking for someone to not only make a beautiful cake but one which tastes so delicious then Jo is who you need to contact to make your wedding cake. My daughter and I met Jo at a vendor bridal show in Murfreesboro, TN. My daughter had already been to another vendor bridal show in Nashville. My daughter knew immediately that Jo was the one who she would contact to make her wedding cake. She was such a sweet and caring lady as well as being very professional to work with. Jo can make any size cake you like. My daughter's cake turned out beautiful with each of the 5 layers a different design which Jo helped us to decide on the designs. The groom's cake was not just the usual square cake but a red truck which was like the grooms first vehicle when he started driving. Needless to say, guests were amazed that it was a cake. Jo's cakes are so moist as well as beautiful. Her cakes are very reasonably priced. I brought cake home with me and put it in the refrigerator and it was still moist and delicious weeks after the wedding. You won't find another vendor with all these wonderful talents at such a reasonable price!

My daughter got married in June. We decided to use Jo's Custom Cakes based on recommendations from others. Let me just say, Jo did not disappoint. The cupcakes were not only beautiful but delicious as well. We received many comments from guests on how good they were. We will definitely use Jo again!

Jo and her team are a terrific find. Our cake was beautiful, three-tiered, and topsy-turvey in style with a unique custom built topper. Jo knows what she is doing. The cake was delivered to our a wedding site on time per our exact needs with no hassle (I'm the groom and I didn't even realise it had been set up). Jo and her team take care of everything. Go and have a tasting, you won't regret it!

Jo and Brittany were incredible! Not only did they work with our ideas to create a unique, out of the ordinary cake exactly the way we wanted it, but they also bake the most delicious cakes you will have ever tasted! With so many both common and unique flavor profiles, frosting types, and fillings to choose from, you can truly entirely customize a wonderful wedding cake that you and your guests will never forget. Our wedding guests said that the wedding cake was a true "work of art"!

Joe is amazing.. she has an incredible gift of bringing to fruition the ideas you have for your wedding cake, and surpassing any expectation you had. Our grooms cake was literally a sasquatch drinking a REAL airplane bottle of Jack Daniels No. 7 whiskey. It was jaw dropping, and the detail was breathtaking. I could not imagine having used anyone else. Oh.. and the cakes were the best we tasted! No one else compares.

Jo's Custom Cakes and Catering is phenomenal! Jo bakes the best cakes and is dedicated to making your event even more special. She and her staff are very friendly and Jo is a talented baker. We ordered a red velvet cake for our wedding that was so rich, moist and delicious! His groom's cake was a custom marble cake and our guests enjoyed both cakes as much as we did! Her prices are incredibly reasonable and her service is great! My husband and I would highly recommend Jo's Custom Cakes and Catering for weddings and various events.

Wow! It's been almost a year since my wedding and I still think about my cake. It was THAT amazing!

We were sent to this vendor by our wedding planner and we were not disappointed. We went to a few other wedding cake vendors after Jo's for tastings and no one compared. The cake was beautiful...just like I had envisioned and the taste was out of this world. Definitely nothing like other wedding cakes I have had. It was like someone stuffed a yummy southern cake into a beautiful wedding shell! It was perfect.

We selected the snickerdoodle and white chocolate with buttercream for our wedding cake. Yes I said SNICKERDOODLE! The grooms cake was triple chocolate with buttercream and a fondant design. And just because we couldn't decide we added an extra strawberry cake so our guest has another flavor option.

I am already thinking about future events where I might have an excuse to get another cake from Jo...because I definitely will.

Just as a PS look into Jo's candied bacon. You won't regret it :)

Hands down the best cake I have ever had in my life. I usually don't even like cake (I'm more of a pie person). We went with Snickerdoodle for the main wedding cake and Bacon & Maple for the groom's cake. They were absolutely delicious and full of flavor! The icing designs were stunning, and we received many compliments. Jo was very flexible with the designs so we ended up getting exactly what we wanted.

I wouldn't go anywhere else to get a special custom cake!!! Jo's Custom Cakes was the only bakery in Nashville that would make two heart shaped cheesecakes for my wedding. I was extremely happy with how they looked and they tasted amazing! She was extremely flexible and was very personable with our consultation. The price was very reasonable and she went above and beyond for me!! Definitely would recommend!

I am so grateful for Jo squeezing in my cake at the last minute. I booked the week of, live 10 hours away, and could only find 3 pictures of what I wanted. We were going to "make our own cake," but never actually worked out the details that it's impossible to make a cake AFTER we arrived in Nashville. It was gorgeous and just what I imagined.

I would say run not walk to Jo's Custom Cakes. She came highly recommended by 3 brides I know from work.When my daughter got to Jo's shop for our tasting she was amazed by how good all the flavors were!! She is accommodating, and kind and you leave with a sense of confidence in her. Wedding day delivery was perfect! She over delivered on everything she promised : )

Jo was amazing from the moment that we met her! She was compassionate, kind and attuned to our needs, her shop is awesome and she provided us with tons of different options at the tasting. I could have stayed at our wedding cake tasting for hours, and I'm not even a person with a sweet tooth. (My husband, on the other hand, couldn't resist eating the entire generous serving of each flavor we tasted.) Jo and all the staff were extremely kind, genuine, and funny. The cake was delicious and beautiful for our wedding day. I went with a simple look: homestyle buttercream frosting, with both white chocolate and chocolate covered strawberry flavored cake. <3 They are obviously experienced with intricate designs, as well, but I love that they immediately understood my taste and aesthetic.

Jo provided us with our grooms cake and a fruit/cheese/cracker tray for our wedding. She was always very quick to respond and the cake looked and tasted phenomenal. I thought the prices were very reasonable, and she was great to work with. I would absolutely recommend to anyone.

Jo and Brittany were incredibly helpful and a pleasure to work with! They were accommodating and happy to work with us on every request. When we first met with Jo, we told her about our budget and what we wanted and she worked to figure out how we could get everything we wanted without going over budget. We actually had cheesecake for our wedding cake, and everyone at the reception said it was the best they had ever eaten! I enthusiastically recommend Jo to anyone who wants an incredible cake!

The catering and cake are two areas that went as smoothly and perfectly as possible - with responsive friendly communication throughout. Knowing how difficult it can be to throw a wedding now we couldn't feel more blessed that found Jo's. The food and the service were really without any faults I could come up with.

I absolutely loved my Nightmare Before Christmas wedding cake. Everyone loved it and it tasted phenomenal. We ordered our cake last minute and she was able to fit us in. Highly recommend them. Very nice and prompt through emails. They even helped me find a good topper for the cake. It was a great and easy experience.

I contacted Jo's Custom Cakes to make the Groom Cake for my son's wedding. I had a very unique, specific theme in my head...a replica of his fiancee's Pug laying down with a Star Wars toy. They were not intimidated by the request and the cake turned out FAR better than my expectations. They created Tallulah the Pug to look EXACTLY like her. The cake was the hit of the wedding! It also tasted amazing. They also agreed to deliver the cake an hour and a half away....I was very very pleased with Jo's Custom Cakes. They are THE best in quality, in talent and in service. Every contact we had with them was friendly as well. Love this company.

Planning a wedding is one of the most stressful tasks that I’ve had to complete to date. On top of wedding planning, I was charged with the task of ensuring that the groom’s cake was just as nice as the bride’s cake. I was beginning to feel as if that would be impossible until I met Ms. Jo!! I knew that I wanted the groom’s cake to represent my husband’s fraternity, but I wanted to be sure that it looked like no other groom’s cake that I had seen before. I found a picture online that I liked, and it was transformed into one of the most AMAZING cakes that my eyes have seen. Have you ever seen a cake that looked too real to eat?? Well that was our groom’s cake!! In fact, many people questioned whether or not the cake was even edible! I was blown away with Jo's cakes at our first tasting....The snickerdoodle and red velvet were both to die for and what we ultimately chose for our cake flavors. I didn't think it could get any better than the taste until I saw our wedding cake the day of. It was GORGEOUS and exactly what we wanted. Every guest I talked to raved about how beautiful it was and how good it tasted! I can't recommend Jo enough!

I knew that I first felt comfortable working with Jo, when we first walked into her kitchen and she greeted me and my family with a huge hug. Our "tastings" of fried chicken, broccoli/cheese casserole, roasted potatoes, and cake was more of a feast than a small tasting. This just shows how generous Jo is at heart!
She is a phenomenal chef, and makes absolutely gorgeous & DELICIOUS wedding cake!
Jo was so flexible with us, and we probably changed our menu 4-5 times, and was always willing to give us updated invoices to make sure we were on target with our budget. She was also willing to incorporate some of our ideas about food so that we could have a 'taste of ohio' in our southern wedding in TN.
I showed Jo a picture of a Cake that I loved with ruffled frosting on the outside, and flowers flowing down the sides, and she emulated it exactly. I was SO pleased, and everyone raved how delicious the food and cake was!
Jo's staff was friendly, professional, and were so easy to work with. I would HIGHLY recommend working with Jo for your wedding/event. She doesn't feel like a vendor, but rather like family.

Jo and her team are simply the best. This was the most stress free part of our wedding planning. From our first meeting to our wedding day everything was perfect. I came to her with a poorly drawn idea of what I wanted for our cake and she transformed it into the most perfect cake I could have ever wanted. We got married at the Nashville Zoo and the cake was a perfect fit. Not only was the cake beautiful it was delicious! It was very hard to choose our flavors but the strawberry cake was to die for and went great with the white chocolate vanilla. We picked snicker doodle for the top layer and cant wait to eat it next year! You are truly in good hands with Jo!

Our wedding cake was amazing!!! It was beautiful to look at, but also tasted amazing! We've truly enjoyed working with Jo as she designed and made our cake. She also went out of her way to work with my peanut allergy to make sure there was no chance of cross contamination or any chance of a reaction from our cake. Jo is amazing, her cakes are incredible and she is who you want to make your wedding cake! :)

's Custom Cakes are nothing short of astounding. I was meticulous in my search for the best wedding cake in Tennessee. I interviewed 16 bakers and conducted 12 taste tests- Let me save you the research time, Jo is definitely the way to go. I needed a cake that could feed at least 150 and a grooms cake that could do 75. Additionally, I had a specific design in mind and I wanted 5 different flavors (3 for wedding cake and 2 for grooms). Every baker I spoke with unanimously said that my design could only be achieved with fondant. The problem was I HATE fondant. Even from a "high end" caterer that has theirs brought in from Italy down in Nashville- it tasted like a flavorless gum that was impossible to swallow. Then I met Jo... she did my whole cake just the way I wanted in buttercream only. And Oh My Goodness, it was delicious! And it still tasted phenomenal one year later on our anniversary! The cake was so moist and the icing was just the perfect balance of sweet and smooth. Additionally, we bought our cakes for exponentially less than competitors and they couldn't even deliver exactly what I was wanting.
When planning a wedding it is so important to deal with kind and compassionate people that have a heart for their jobs. Jo and her mom embody every ideal of professionalism with personalities that make them feel like family. Everything about Jo's presence is welcoming and I am so grateful that I found such a jovial and talented artist to make my wedding day complete!

Jo and her staff are wonderful. They provide excellent customer service and the food is delicious. Her cakes are the most moist I have ever tasted and they are beautiful too. We have used her for wedding reception, retirement parties, surprise parties, birthday cakes...she is our go-to!

If there were one area where I felt I could relax on about our wedding it would be our cake. After we met with Jo, I knew we were in great hands. We sat down and right away she took my vision and ran with it.

We had a cake that just me and my husband cut and enjoyed. She made it vintage lace appearance with a green ribbon and daisies all around which went perfect with my own dress and bouquet. We then had several desserts for our guests to enjoy. They included banana pudding and chocolate mousse in individual jars and mini pecan pies and chocolate fudge pies. This theme went well with our country chich theme and barn wedding.

After the wedding, the desserts were always mentioned by our guests as one of their favorite parts of the day. They said it made them feel special and included that they were able to choose their favorite or in most cases, favorites!

I would recommend Jo to anyone and will 100% be using her services in the future. 5 Stars!

We asked for a special and unique wedding cake and groomsmen cake. What we got unique doesn't even describe they were marvelous and so realistic that our guests thought the were props and non-edible. Jo and her assistant did an amazing job and I'll drive the extra way to use her again for her talent and dedication.

Where do I begin?! We used Jo's services for both our dinner and cakes. She helped us to give our guests the best experience for the best price. She threw in some little "extras" that made the day that much more perfect. I used to work for a wedding planning company and am a very picky bride. If there was anything I needed or had questions about, Jo was there to help. She was extremely professional, but also very down-to-earth. She was a true blessing to us and we would recommend her for anything! I hope we can work together on future events life might have in store for my husband and I.

We purchased the economy menu with baked pasta, salad, bread, and drinks. The food was amazing! You cannot get a full meal for any event at the price Jo offers. Our guests loved the food and many went back for a second helping! You just can't beat the value and quality of Jo's food.

But, where we and our guests were "wowed" the most was the taste/quality/apperance of our cakes. My cake was absolutely beautiful. She used lace that I provided and put her own creative spin to place it on the cake. Our groom's cake was a University of Tennessee inspired cake with checkerboard filling like that of the Neyland Stadium endzones. What also set our cakes apart from others was the taste. We knew after 1 bite at the cake tasting that Jo was the caterer/cake artist for us! Her cakes are moist and delicious. We had a different flavor for every layer of the cake and the guests loved it! I can't describe to you how delicious her cakes are. But, I can promise you they're as good as your Mom's or Grandmother's!

We didn't know Jo or anything about her business. I was searching for local caterers and her company popped up. It was fate for us to work with her, because we couldn't have had a better experience. Thank you, Jo and your stuff for exceeding our expections!

I live in Virginia and wanted specialty cupcakes to celebrate my son's birthday at the rehearsal dinner for his wedding...the next day. Since he is a beer lover, Jo's was able to design "beer mug" cupcakes that were just wonderful....the look and the taste. All this was done by email and phone and she made everything so easy and was so kind and accommodating.

If only there were words that could adequately express how I felt about Jo and her wedding cakes. There are not so I can only say that it was heaven working with her. She was very aware of my budget restrictions and did everything possible to cut down the cost of the cake while still giving me what I wanted. I didn't just want a cake that tasted good though. I wanted a cake that tasted homemade, just like my grandmother used to make. Jo delivered just that! I had a peanut butter and fudge cake, whereas my husband had a cake one tier lemon and the other white chocolate. She made him a replica of his fire helmet that looked JUST like it. He was through the moon over it. Seriously, she is professional, on time, easy to work with, and most importantly makes one heck of a cake that will knock your guest's socks right off. AND to top it off, she is reasonably priced compared to others in the Nashville area. The best thing you can do for yourself is use her.

Oh my! Jo and her staff did a beautiful job on the food at my daughter's wedding reception! It was good and everyone loved it! Jo has such a wonderful personality and has so much respect for her brides and their moms :) like me... I really enjoyed working with Jo. She also made a beautifully decorated and good tasting grooms cake as well as the wonderful food! Perfect and the groom loved it! My wedding cake could not have been more perfect! They delivered it right on time, and the set up was perfect. They did a fantastic job on my wedding cake, and my grooms cake. Everyone was so impressed and I got so many compliments. The details were unbelievable, and they matched my wedding colors perfectly. It was absolutely delicious, and I can't wait for our anniversary so I can eat it again!

My mother surprised us with the cake for our wedding and she picked Coconut Cake from Jo's - it was incredible! We had a very small wedding ceremony and of course had extra to give out to our guests and to take with us. SCRUPTUOUS cake! Lovely AND tasty. I can highly recommend Jo's!

Mymother took care of ordering my cake for me, since I live out of the state. She found Jo's and was very pleased with their helpfulness and variety. The cake I had was 3 tier and it was the most scrumptuous cake I've EVERY HAD! One tier was devils food, one was strawberry for my mom, and the other was a vanilla and everything was wrapped up in a beautiful vanilla creamy ganache...with beautiful flowers to match my wedding and bouquets. I HIGHLY recommend Jo's for your cakes. They were on time, if not early and the price was not too much. We even got to grooms cake done here too. They were both wonderful cakes.

Jo was amazing!!! She was literally the sweetest person in the world!! She would do anything to help you even though it wasn't in her job description!! Everyone talked about how wonderful our food choices were, I couldn't really eat (too busy)!! Jo's cake was delicious! I really enjoyed working with her and her crew throughout the cake choosing/buying process. They were really easy and fun to work with and had no problem being flexible when I changed my mind on my cake design. They did raise the price on my cake when I made some tweaks, which I feel should have been disclaimed from the get-go. I also was not told when payments were due until I asked, which, for a business, should be mentioned to customers way ahead of time. However, I did have an overall excellent experience with Jo's cakes and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a delicious and beautiful cake. You won't go wrong with any of her flavors or icings, and she will go above and beyond to make the cake look perfect.

I loved the way Jo's cake tasted so much when I went to do my tastig that I booked her on the spot and cancelled my other tastings booked for the rest of the week. She and her teamdid an amazing job on the lace which covered my cake and matched my dress, and it taste amazing! She dropped it off and set it p on time! I would definatley recommend her!
