We hired Jonathan for our wedding in April of 2023 and he also did our engagement photos in October of 2022. Jonathan LOVES what he does and it is apparent when you are around him. He is passionate about getting great photos of your special day! He wants to do everything he can to make you comfortable and get to know you as well. Jonathan does his best to deliver quality photos and does not have a limit on how many photos you are provided like some photographers. We was efficient with our family photos following the ceremony and captured beautiful bride and groom portraits as well. At the reception, he was able to sense a moment happening and capture those as well. He implemented a second shooter for the ceremony, family photos, and beginning of the reception for our first dance. He also implemented a table photo dash, at our request during the reception to get a photo with each table and all of our guests. Jonathan did a great job, made my husband, family, and bridal party feel comfortable. He was easy and flexible to work with in terms of his packages, hours, second shooter, engagement shoot date and location, and wedding hour times. He even came earlier than he was contracted for to make sure he had plenty of time to get all the shots he wanted! We would HIGHLY recommend him and I am happy to chat with any brides who are thinking about hiring Jonathan! -

Amazing experience!
I can’t say enough good things about Jonathan and his work! His photos speak for themselves, but he is also kind, patient, and professional. I am IN LOVE with how our beach wedding photos turned out, and he returned them in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend for any occasion! -

I have worked with Jonathan several times over the past couple of years and he has always been an outstanding wedding photographer. He is always professional, always has a smile, and can capture a wedding beautifully without having to interrupt the evening in order to do so.
That is important from my job as a wedding DJ and I can't thank Jonathan enough for being a cut above wedding photographer. Every time I see him at a wedding I know that the evening is going to go smoothly. You will never be disappointed in hiring Jonathan for your wedding photography. -

Jonathan is a fun, talented, and hard working photographer. We loved having him!
When my wife and I started planning our wedding, we agreed one of the most important vendors would be our photographer. We spent months looking for one, and stumbled upon Jonathan's portfolio on Google. We really liked his modern style and the way he made couples look so natural, so we reached out for an inquiry. Here are some things that stood out about our interaction compared to others:
1. His answers were always thoughtful. He didn't give a one or two sentence response when we asked for details, while many others did. It makes a huge difference.
2. He explained his editing/photography style in detail. As a photography hobbyist, I really appreciated this.
3. He is easy to get along with. All of our photoshoots felt like we were just hanging out, and he made us feel comfortable while leading us so our photos turned out perfectly.
4. Most importantly, this guy is a hard worker and his work shows. It is an understatement when we say he(and his wife we hired) was our best investment for the wedding.
Thank you for helping us capture our special day. I would recommend Jonathan to anyone who needs the perfect photographer for your special occasion. -

The experience we had with Jonathan was more than we could have asked for. We knew from the beginning that the process of choosing a photographer would be one of our most important decisions. We wanted someone who would capture the love from the beginning to end so we could relive our wedding day through the photographs for years to come. Jonathan exceeded our expectations. He captured and embraced our love through his skillful and artistic passion of photography. He made us feel natural and was able to capture the true love that my husband and I share. I don't think the English language has sufficient words of praise to convey how much we loved working with Jonathan.
We lucked into our hiring of Jonathan through his wife, Annie, who we contracted as our day-of coordinator. When we heard her husband was a photographer, and they often work as a team, we thought that was
1.) Adorable and super romantic, and
2.) A good practical solution for us
Little did we know we'd just hired the male equivalent of Annie Leibovitz!! :D
Due to crazy schedules and this being a destination wedding, we didn't get a chance to meet Jonathan until we were walking down the aisle. But from the moment he came up and said hi, we knew we'd made a great choice. He was positive, a great communicator, adaptable and quick, loaded with more camera gear than I'd ever seen a single person carrying, LOL, and looked like he was having a great time, despite the overcast skies.
He did a phenomenal job of capturing everything we were hoping for from the ceremony. And we had so much fun working with him afterward for the wedding party photos and bride & groom portraits. He came up with really fun ideas to highlight the uniqueness of our ethnic fusion wedding (including having our guys throw umbrellas up in the air :D)
We were so fortunate, because the sun broke through the clouds right as we were taking those photos, gilding the sand, and tipping the waves with gold. And that's when the magic really started. The photos he captured during this time have caused more gasps of amazement from family and friends than I can count.
Even more amazing was how quickly he sent us sneak peek photos. He had some of the most stunning sent to us before our reception even ended that night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you're looking for a photographer, don't even waste your time looking anywhere else!!!!!!! Jonathan is an artist and storyteller with a lens, and my only regret is that we couldn't afford to hire him to capture every single moment of the entire weekend. Thank you for everything, Jonathan. We are so grateful. -

Having the right photographer was the highest priority on my wedding list! I wanted someone that could capture all those little amazing moments through out the day that as a bride you can miss because the day goes by so fast. I knew Jonathan would do an amazing job because I had seen his work from my friend's wedding but the photos were still beyond my expectations! Most of the time I had no idea he was even there and I'm so incredibly great full that he got all these incredible shots of moments I had already forgot about. I know there are a million photographers out there but only a few like Jonathan that has that organic natural ability to capture your most priceless moments. -

Jonathan Mcdonald provided a wonderful services all around. He was communicative and very flexible. He is personable and was able to help us relax and feel confident as we took our photos. When he did our final edits, he was very prompt. We are very pleased with how all of our engagement and wedding pictures turned out. I would highly recommend Jonathan McDonald to all my friends and families. -

The way you handled everything was way beyond our expectations especially taking such wonderful photos even throughout the unexpected strong hurricane winds from Nate. You noticed every detail and captured every photograph we wanted and many more. Every single one of the photos are breath taking. Looking through them made us relive the emotions felt in those special moments and you achieved to capture them all. We are so blessed and grateful that your talent has created such amazing and memorable photos that will last us a lifetime!
