Book Jon for your wedding!

We booked Jon for our wedding that was two weeks ago and he was awesome to work with and truly nailed the vibe of our wedding. He really listened to what we wanted and brought it to life in a way that felt so natural. The music flowed perfectly all night, and he did such a great job reading the room and keeping everyone on the dance floor.
He was professional but also super easygoing, which made the whole process feel stress-free. You can tell he genuinely cares about making your day feel personal and fun. We’re so glad we chose him and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ who just gets it! It was clear he had been doing this for so long and he made the night!

Rada Culciar is a 10 out of 10!

We used Sugarbomb Entertainment violinist Rada for our ceremony and cocktail hour. My husband and I we were not able to personally experience the cocktail hour entertainment as we were busy greeting guests and I think I blacked out most of the ceremony (lol). We did however receive an abundance of compliments from our guests on Rada’s performance! She was the star of the show and we were so grateful to have had her be part of our big day!

Exceptional Entertainment!

We hired Sugarbomb for our wedding and they absolutely exceeded every expectation.

From the start, Julia helped keep everything organized and answered all our questions. Jon, our DJ, was a fantastic maitre de and kept the night moving. He was able to take our broad taste in music and make it into a cohesive playlist. The music selection was perfect for our crowd, and he read the room so well.

The photobooth was also a huge hit! The props were fun, the backdrop looked great, and the photo quality was fantastic. Our booth attendant, Matt, was friendly, organized, and made sure everyone got their photos quickly. We loved receiving the digital gallery afterward. It was such a nice keepsake to add those prints to our guestbook!

If you’re looking for a DJ and photobooth vendor who delivers top-tier service, this is the team to book. Highly recommend!

DJ service

Booking Jon Ardito (R2DITO) through Sugarbomb Ent. was one of the best decisions we made. All throughout the wedding planning process, Jon and his team were responsive, quick to answer questions, and provide suggestions thanks to their previous in-depth knowledge of our venue. We also booked Mindy Cutcher, an incredible harpist, through Sugarbomb and she absolutely made our ceremony! The rest of our evening went perfectly, and Jon's timing and music sequence was great throughout dinner and later to keep our guests on the dancefloor. Some of our most memorable moments were us dancing to our no-skip songs during the reception. Also, up-lighting absolutely transformed our reception hall and really set the mood for a lively dancefloor! We can't recommend Sugarbomb enough to any couple looking for excellent DJ and lighting services!

We were incredibly happy with everything on our wedding day. I have nothing even slightly negative to say LOL.
Jon did an amazing job with the music and the Saxophone was literally the perfect cherry on top of the entire thing - everyone's been saying so!
Will definitely be recommending these guys to anyone I know that needs event entertainment in the future.

Beyond Our Expectations: The Best DJ for Our Special Day

We cannot thank the Sugarbomb team enough for helping us have the best time! I think DJs can make or break a wedding and Jon was absolutely fantastic (DJ Name R2DITO). He knew the vibe we were going for and kept the energy high all night, our guests never left the dancefloor. He even thought to play the Eagles Fight Song which was a great personal touch! The prices are budget friendly and we recommend adding the lighting package for an even better experience. 10/10!

Incredible music for our wedding!!

We could not be more thrilled with DJ Ardito for our wedding. He was an incredible MC and kept the night moving along perfectly. His energy was fun yet professional. We are grateful for his knowledge and expertise in the wedding industry as it was very helpful to us on our day. And the best part — the music! Our dance floor was full for HOURS with family and friends I never expected to dance. The music was on point for every song and we are so appreciative!! The Life of the Party – Jon Was Incredible!

Jon was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! He kept the dance floor packed all night — even my almost 90-year-old grandpa couldn’t resist getting out there! Every song was a hit and matched our vibe perfectly.

From the moment we started working with him, Jon was so easygoing, kind, and professional. He really listened to what we wanted and made the night feel completely us.

Best DJ ever!!

We hired Jon to DJ our entire wedding. He was so pleasant to work with and always answered all of my questions. We told him what music we listen to and what vibe we were going for for cocktail hour and dinner, once all formalities were done, I gave him full control to get everyone on the dance floor and having fun! When I tell you, out of my 130 person wedding, EVERYONE was on the dance floor!!! The entire night!! Everyone still asks me for his information and says he is the best DJ they have ever seen at a wedding and I couldn't agree more. Jon is very laid back and was open to me giving him a list of specific songs and being very picky but he also was very reassuring that he can choose the songs based on the vibe of the event and moment. Best wedding band!

My wife and I were lucky enough to have Soul City Shakedown perform at our wedding this past September and they were nothing short of outstanding! We have attended many weddings and have never seen so many guests of all ages on the dance floor at one time. Whenever we speak to our friends and family about the wedding they mention how talented and engaging the band was. Jon (the band manager) was such a pleasure to work with in the months leading up to the big day. He asked all of the right questions about our music preferences and put our mind at ease during a busy and stressful time. We would strongly recommend Soul City Shakedown to any couples that are looking for a band to bring energy and style to their event. They truly were the highlight of our wedding reception!

Great wedding DJ!

Working with Sugarbomb, specifically Jon and the DJ Jalen, was fantastic. They were really affordable without comprising at all on quality. Absolutely book Jon Ardito / Sugarbomb Entertainment

I had 2.5 months to plan my wedding, which should have been difficult, but was hassle free and a joy because I found Jon Ardito and Sugarbomb Entertainment! They responded to my inquiry lightning fast. They worked with me to find the entertainment that fit what I was looking for, which was DJ Illmatiq (aka Jalen) and Elegance String Quartet. They set up meetings between me and the talent and provided clear planning templates to make communication easy. Elegance String Quartet were so talented, kind, and a Bridgerton-esque show stopper for my ceremony and cocktail hour. Then DJ Illmatiq brought the house down at the post-dinner dancing. Everyone was on the dancefloor, because he read the crowd, mixed the songs seamlessly, and brought unbeatable energy. I couldn't recommend this vendor highly enough!

DJ Mitch was GREAT!

Excellent in all ways

We couldn’t highly recommend Sugarbomb and specificity DJ Illmatic enough. The dancefloor was among the most significant, if the single biggest highlight of our wedding.
Sugerbomb was a dream to work with. Jon and his whole team’s experience showed; they managed the AV very well and were very thoughtful about what would and would not work in our space regarding both the AV and lighting. Jon guided us on the microphone setup during the ceremony in the right direction. Their system for managing music preferences is well-considered and thorough (we were quite particular and they were very gracious in working with us on our full playlist that we curated in addition to giving them general preferences). The coordination with our wedding planner and the venu was excellent and didn’t require much engagement from us. In short, they were amazing to work with and we highly recommend!

We choose DJ Illmatic for his alignment to our music taste and his expert mixing and transitions from the samples and online music we had heard. He pleasantly surprised us with his insights on how to manage a crowd and his adaptability to our preferences. We spoke on 2 occasions before the wedding and he came to every conversation with thoughtful ideas about how to make the musical experience even better. He delivered above and beyond on the day of our wedding - the dancefloor was packed throughout the night, every song was beautifully transitioned through, and he lined up bangers after bangers. We still hear about how rare our dancefloor was - there was never a moment where you wanted to leave it. He did also did a great job with a light MC role and navigating background music in a museum with challenging acoustics.

Best DJs in Philly!

Jalen and Jon from Sugarbomb did at fantastic job DJing our wedding in March 2024. They took the time to understand our music preferences for different parts of our wedding day and created a beautiful mix of songs that fit each moment perfectly. Once the dancing portion of our wedding began, they did a great job incorporating a variety of songs that would be popular with different groups of guests, keeping the dance floor busy throughout the night. I especially appreciated Sugarbomb's flexibility when we collectively realized I had accidentally booked them for the wrong date. The team was incredibly understanding and created a quick solution that allowed us to still have their talent at our wedding. Overall, we could not recommend Sugarbomb more for any wedding or celebration!

Soul City Shakedown ROCKED Cescaphe Ballroom

Soul City Shakedown played at our wedding in December at Cescaphe Ballroom and we couldn’t have imagined a better performance! The 9 piece band really commanded the room and the dance floor was PACKED the entire night. Brian the guitarist did an excellent job as the musician during the ceremony/precession and the piano and saxophone players were the perfect addition during cocktail hour. Jon Ardito was terrific to work with throughout the whole process. Very laid back, easygoing, and communicative, and he made sure we had everything we needed. We couldn’t recommend them more! Best DJ/MC I could have asked for!

We went with sugarbomb because he was recommended by the venue and chose Jon specifically because as the owner we felt he would be the most invested in doing a good job. It was the best decision we made during the whole wedding planning process.

I cannot recommend Sugarbomb and especially Jon enough! All of our guests had so much fun. He did such a great job, and gave us so much help and guidance throughout the planning process. A few days before the wedding we decided to add the photo table challenge that we'd seen on TikTok and our photographer recommended (couple sits in the middle of the dance floor and the dj announces tables to come up and take pics with us but we have to get through them in one song) even though it was last minute he was totally adaptable and worked with us. It was so much fun.

Jon was an excellent DJ but also an excellent MC for the night. He helped make sure everything ran smoothly and did a great job introducing the speeches. He was funny without making himself the center of the attention.

I especially loved how that he announced the last 3 songs, and chose the perfect 2 to put right before our last one. I know they were on my must play list but I had no idea he'd use them like that and it just made the whole night even more perfect.

6 months later I still have people telling me that they think of me everytime they hear one of those 3 songs and virtually everyone I speak to tells me still how it was the most fun they ever had at a wedding.

I would get married once a year if I could afford it and I knew sugarbomb and Jon esp would be available to DJ for me everytime.

Highly Recommend Sugarbomb

Sugarbomb entertainment was a pleasure to work with for many reasons:
1) Jon was quick to reply to all of our requests, extremely friendly and offered us multiple options that would fit our needs (photo booths, lighting, multiple DJ's to choose from, strings)
2) Once we selected Sugarbomb they were available for multiple calls as we crafted our day of itinerary.
3) The strings had never heard of our obscure song selection so they learned it for us for a reasonable fee and it sounded amazing
4) We selected DJ Martin from their extensive list of DJ's and he was a true professional. He incorporated all the song requests we had, maybe more importantly he made sure to not play anything we didn't want to hear. He ran the day-of event smoothly. And the best part was the dance party. Multiple guests said it was the best wedding DJ they've heard. He picked all the right songs to keep our guests on the dance floor all night long, highly recommend!
5) The photobooth was a hit! The pictures came out great, we recevied an online album of all our guests photos and the man who ran the booth was extremely personable and let people have alot of fun while taking pictures.
I highly recommend that you use Sugarbomb entertainment, you'll be in great hands through the entire process

Excellent entertainment group

We got married this past September, and it was wonderful working with Jon Ardito and his band Soul City Shakedown of Sugarbomb Entertainment. The group is extremely talented and highly professional to work with.

From the beginning, Jon was quick to respond to our inquiry and ask us detailed questions to ensure we were paired with the most appropriate band in the entertainment group to fit the vision for our wedding. As the date approached, he was proactive and helped us organize music selections for our ceremony, cocktail hour, entrances, first and last dances, and gauge what we (and our guests) would enjoy hearing throughout the night on the dance floor. Wedding planning is stressful enough and the thought of selecting music/songs can seem overwhelming when you have an eclectic taste. Jon broke down the night into different phases and provided guidance along the way. This allowed my husband and I to thoughtfully plan what certain points of the night would look and sound like, while still letting the band have fun, be creative, and play tunes they love most too. (As musicians ourselves, the later was extremely important to us.)

Soul City Shakedown was tight! The emcees got our party started right and kept our guests engaged the whole time. We were out on the dance floor moving (and singing along) to jazz standards, blues, funk, disco, Motown, with some classics in between all night long. Many of our friends and family are musicians and commented how great the band sounded in the venue space (Globe Dye Works) as well.

Working with Jon and Soul City Shakedown was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding. The group captured our vision and ran with it, making it a memorable experience for all. We highly recommend working with Sugarbomb!

Amazing Wedding Band

We were absolutely thrilled with Central City Orchestra – the music was perfect throughout the whole event, from our first dance all the way to the last. Wonderful wedding DJ and piano player

We got married in May, and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience working with Jon and with Sugarbomb entertainment. From the very first phone call, Jon was engaged, conscientious, eager to hear about our thoughts, and ready to suggest alternative or additional options. We were interested in having live music for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and he talked through what those options could look like, addressed any concerns we had, and connected us with a wonderful pianist (who did a beautiful job!).

In the months leading up to our wedding, Jon was always responsive, and was proactive about reaching out to set up times to discuss our music choices, event schedule, and other details. We never had any concerns about him or his team!

The wedding itself was perfect--he did a great job throughout the event, carefully attended to our musical preferences, and kept the dance floor packed with his selections! We can't recommend him highly enough.

Great time!

We decided to book Jon and Sugarbomb Entertainment after attending a friends wedding that he DJ’d.
Jon made sure our requests were heard and worked them into the night at the right moments. Most guests were on the dance floor the whole time and he understood the vibes we were aiming for. He also did our lighting, which included dancefloor light and uplighting that really enhanced everything. It was so fun!

Great dance party!

Ricky Martin did a fantastic job DJ'ing our wedding. We had a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, from kids to grandparents - he managed to get the dance floor bumping for all, including desi/indian songs! Amazing...

Soul City Shakedown (Sugarbomb Entertainment) was the key to a fantastic evening. The musicians and singers were all amazing… and the singer who came out and sang on the dance floor keep the energy fluid! All of our guest wanted to know where we found such an amazing band.

Jon Ardito was in touch with us several times to make sure he understood the run of show and that we were aligned with music preferences.

In addition to the dance music they provided lighter jazz during the cocktail hour.

We could not have been more satisfied.

Best time ever with these guys!

People are STILL talking about how amazing our wedding band was, 10 months later! We are so lucky to have worked with Jon Ardito and Soul City Shakedown. We have been to a lot of weddings and seen a lot of wedding bands, and these guys BROUGHT it. Naomi and co are just phenomenal. Hands down the most fun you will ever have at a wedding.

We booked this band and looked at NO others after dancing our butts off to them at my best friend's wedding. Not only were they so amazing at keeping the energy up, but they also learned 2 songs for our first dances and processional, which made the experience so unique. Jon, Evan, and Dan were incredible!

Evan sang our ceremony songs beautifully and people loved the cocktail hour. Dan had people dancing all night. After dinner no on sat down! We are still getting compliments on how everyone enjoyed themselves and can't believe how amazing Evan was. Great Wedding Music!

We used Jon Ardito Entertainment to provide all of our August 2019 wedding music. We had live, instrumental music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and a DJ for the reception. They were amazing! Jon Ardito/Swift technique- best band ever

When we saw a video of Swift technique on Jon Ardito's website, we knew that was the band we wanted to hire. We absolutely loved their energy and funk/soul vibe in the video reel. They were somehow even better in person. They are a real band so might not know as many of "todays hits" as other wedding bands but they bring such a good energy and talent since they play together all the time. Jon came highly recommended to us by our venue and catering vendor – you can tell Jon is a hardworking guy. He listened to us to understand what we wanted and then worked with us to make our dream wedding happened! The music and the atmosphere was perfect for our wedding. It started with the romantic ceremony and cocktail hour with the string trio. Really great experience

We hired several musicians with Jon and it was a great decision. We had the string trio play at the ceremony, pianist at the cocktail hour, and DJ at the reception. Jon was easy to coordinate with and all the musicians at our wedding were great and so friendly. Jim was our pianist as well as leader of the string trio and he was great! We also had DJ Cheddy at the reception that made things a lot of fun. We would definitely recommend booking anyone through Jon!

I was sore from dancing for three days

DJ Mitch djed our wedding on 11/15 and I am not kidding when I say that every single guest was on the dance floor. He read the room PERFECTLY and was able to appeal to all different ages (205 guests) with the songs he played. Jon Ardito was so easy to communicate with during the planning process. He was super responsive and understanding of our needs as a couple planning a wedding from across the country. I would recommend Jon Ardito entertainment and DJ Mitch to EVERYONE getting married. We are still receiving compliments on the music! We also contracted a photo booth for our reception and everyone loved it! The guest book we received with a copy of all the pictures was a great touch :)

Wonderful wedding ceremony/cocktail hour live music

Jon was amazing throughout the process of hiring live musicians for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. We told him the vibe and style of music we were hoping for during our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and he immediately recommended Jim Holton. Come wedding day Jim and his partner did not disappoint. We requested several specific songs be played for the ceremony on piano and it all sounded beautiful. Wonderful wedding DJ!

We booked Jon Ardito Entertainment for our wedding on March 15, 2019 and chose Joel Kupis as our DJ. They were extremely professional and organized. Joel went out of his way to meet with my husband and I in person before we even booked him as our DJ. Then a few weeks before our wedding he sent us a checklist to fill out to ensure that we were all on the same page about the schedule of our wedding night. Joel then scheduled a phone call with us to walk through our completed checklist together. Then on the day of our wedding Joel arrived early to coordinate with our venue and set-up. The night couldn't have been more perfect! Joel kept everybody out on the dance floor the entire night! He played the perfect mix of music to appeal to all ages at our wedding.

The Talk of the Wedding!

I chose this band after hearing only 30 seconds of them playing. We caught the last bit of their last song for a trial but that was all I needed to hear to know they were the ones for our wedding. I cannot even begin to count the number of guests who complimented our choice of the band. Everyone always starts with: "It was all so beautiful....and that band!" Jon was SO professional and did an absolute above and beyond job controlling the vibe of the room. They knew how to get the crowd quiet for toasts and exactly when to start bumping up the beat to initiate some serious dancing. The sound and vocals were absolutely TOP NOTCH. They even helped us with a few unique requests: a pre-recording for our introductions, an unconventional "first dance" song AND some polka for my polish descent grandfather who has quite the polka moves for an 89 year old. Jon was extremely accommodating with all of our requests and truly gave us everything you would ever want in a band for your wedding.

Versatility, value, and amazing music!

We can't say enough good things about Jon Ardito's Soul City Shakedown, and our guests have been raving about the quality of the band. They perfectly executed exactly the vibe we wanted, and the emcee Gnomi struck the perfect balance of letting our guests chill and then getting everyone on the dance floor. She really read the room, and even changed some song lyrics on the fly to fit some common themes of the day! That was awesome! Danced the Night Away

If I could give them more stars I would. I was recommended Soul City through a friend, and I will keep recommending them as they were just the best.
Jon and his band, Soul City Shakedown, made our wedding night a night to remember! It has been almost 6 months since we got married and our family and friends are still talking about the band. They made the wedding for us, they were full of charisma, and high energy. We had two members playing during cocktail hour, then we had a 6-8 piece band for the remainder of the night. My mom and I did a choreographed dance with multiple songs and they nail it for us. They know how to engage the crowd and kept our dance floor packed all night long! The best sounds and service!

Joel from Jon Ardito Entertainment was amazing at our wedding on November 10th. He reached out to us a week or so before or have a phone call and go over specifics, song lists, preference, and everything else, and left us feeling so confident that he had everything under control and we didn't have to worry about the little details. Joel did a lot of things that really stood out. He had a great feel for the crowd, and even though we had a fairly even mix of mid-20 year olds and people 50-60, the dance floor was never empty. Also, during our mother-son dance, after I felt like I could not go any longer without horribly messing up my steps, I gave Joel the slightest look and he ended the song. He even left my wife's father borrow his speakers to play piano for cocktail hour. Jon Ardito was very helpful in booking and connecting us with Joel when we were initially looking for a DJ, and you are in good hands with this team.

Incredible Wedding Band

We knew we wanted Soul City Shakedown to play our wedding halfway through their first song at a routine Tuesday night showcase in Philly. They knocked us out of the park in a minute flat! My husband and I are both musicians, so we were a bit pickier about this vendor than others when planning our wedding. Soul City Shakedown is full of top-notch musicians who can play nearly any genre with serious skill. They are polished top to bottom and know how to pace an event. Transitions, set lists, sound, EVERYTHING. Their frontwoman, Gnomi, is a one of a kind vocalist. Our family and friends are STILL talking about how incredible they were.

Here's what meant the most to me: I wanted to surprise my husband by singing a song, and we wanted one of our dearest friends to sing our first dance. They learned THREE songs for us, let our talented friend sing, and worked with me and three backup singers. They prepared a special entrance for us (without asking! it was the perfect way to enter our reception) and went above and beyond to fill our day with beautiful music. I am forever grateful for their flexibility, excitement, and personalization. Thank you Jon and SCS!!

Soul City Shakedown are OUTSTANDING! We saw this incredible band at one of their showcases with the intention of booking a 6 piece band but after seeing them live and presenting us with the full Sha-BAM we had to go for the full thing. Jon was outstanding to work with, personal and professional and this was echoed by the band. One of the most important aspects of our wedding was to find an incredible band and Soul City Shakedown knocked it out the park and went so far above our expectations. The Pianist during our ceremony, the Jazz being played during our cocktail hour and the impact the full band made at our reception will never be forgotten. Every song they played had the whole place dancing all night and singing at the top of their lungs. One Of the Best Vendors We Worked With!

Working with Jon Ardito and his team was a dream from the start. It impressed me that Jon had the time to communicate back and forth with me (and in a very timely manner, I will add) about the details of the live music for my wedding. He listened to what I wanted and offered recommendations on available musicians. No question was unreasonable and he was very patient with me. We wanted a pianist for the ceremony and a jazz trio during the cocktail hour and they absolutely killed it!! I even gave Alexander, our pianist, songs from YouTube (but no sheet music) and he learned both of the songs. Everything sounded amazing and it meant a lot to me that he did that for me as the songs had personal significance. The jazz trio was great, too, based on the two seconds I heard them (comes with the territory of being the bride, I guess!). I would book and recommend Jon Ardito Entertainment over and over again.

I met up with Jon and his band through the philly event group and listened to them at a few showcases. I can’t express enough what a great listener Jon is and how he aims to please! Soul City Shakedown performed at our wedding at The Asbury Hotel this summer and they were absolutely fabulous. We selected their 8-piece ensemble. They came recommended and the level of talent did not disappoint. In particular, while all reviews below can attest to their quality, I can confirm their commitment, high energy level and tirelessness. Our wedding was slightly off schedule and Soul City was supposed to take a second break at a set time. However, since the true “dance portion” of the night started late, they did not take a break - they kept going to the end. If you decide to book Soul City, my final advice is to not shy away from their crowd involvement. We did not have a true stage at our venue and the two lead vocals moved into the dance floor naturally and enthusiastically. It was memorable!

We can't stop raving about Soul City Shakedown (Jon Ardito Entertainment). We met them first at a friends' wedding, and they were by far the most fun and energetic bands we had seen. We had a DJ, but made the switch. Not only is the music great, but they're a wonderful company to work with. So laidback, fun, and professional and they really take your tastes and preferences into account -- the whole experience felt really personal. Overall, we couldn't recommend them enough and hope to catch them at another wedding!

Jon Ardito Entertainment is the absolute best in the game. We used him and his team for our wedding in September and could not have been happier! Aside from providing a full band, Jon's team did the outdoor ceremony music, steel drum at cocktail hour and the photo booth (huge hit!) As a very hands off bride, giving little direction, Jon coordinated in the most professional manner with the staff at the Merion Cricket Club for a flawless evening we will remember for the rest of our lives. He read our minds and covered all the bases! Our guests could not stop raving about what a spectacular band they were... completely bringing the party and taking the house down!! I was lucky enough to stumble upon Jon Ardito & Band at a Philadelphia Bridal Expo - we are SO GLAD WE DID!!!!! Jon was so easy to work with, and responded quickly to all of my questions. He delivered on any special request I had!
The dance floor was packed at our wedding... the entire time! There was never a time where the dance floor looked empty - we owe that all to Soul City Shakedown and the amazing job they did with their song selection!

At our request, Nomi and Charlie did an amazing duet during our ceremony and then Nomi took it over for my walk down the aisle doing a beautiful rendition of La Vie en Rose. It took my breath away!

Nomi was an AMAZING emcee - we loved how she left the stage, walking around the ballroom while singing, it really got our guests engaged! I was told that she also stood near the ballroom entrance and sang as guests poured in (I heard they LOVED that) and I hope to see that in our wedding video!!!

John & I heard from several people that the band made the wedding the huge success that it was (and we couldn't agree more!) There were times we needed to leave the dance floor to catch my breath and grab a drink of water...but the next song they started to play was TOO good, and we turned right back around to dance!

BOOK JON ARDITO!!!! You will be so happy you did!!! :)

If you are looking for a live band and have no idea where to start, start with Soul City Shakedown through Jon Ardito Entertainment. Working with them was one of the best experiences we had in planning our wedding; Jon was very easy going through the entire planning process and very accommodating to what we wanted. They played live music for our ceremony, during cocktail hour, dinner, and through the reception... and it was absolutely AMAZING. Not only did we love their music, our guests were VERY enthusiastic about Soul City Shakedown! Everyone, young and old, was enjoying the party and on the dance floor. We are 3 weeks post-wedding, and we still have family and friends telling us how amazing our band was. As a wedding planner, we look for 3 main things in a band: professionalism, responsiveness and talent. This band has it ALL and more!!! They came in from PA and were absolutely fantastic to work with- patient, friendly, easy going and eager to make the bride and her family happy. The had the guests on the dance floor the entire night. They arrived the day before wedding day, so we didn't have to worry about any travel delays. Would highly recommend!!!

I am giving JAE (specifically Soul City Shakedown) a perfect 5 because they made my wedding night SO much fun! They kept everyone on the dance floor all night and played a fun mixture including several personal requests that caused cousins and friends from both families to bond over classic family favorites. Everyone was raving about the band. They were professional from beginning to start. Simply easy and fun to work with from answering emails to showing up at our venue to plan specifics. I would hire them again any day! My husband and I agree it was our best wedding decision to hire them.

Ardito Entertainment definitely delivered for my wife and I's wedding. We had it right in the center city area of Philadelphia. Our wedding was such a long time in the making (11 years) that I wanted the two main emotions of our wedding day to be LOVE and FUN!! I knew I wanted a live band; and even with that I, wanted to find a company that ENTERTAINED our guests!! When I closed my eyes and dreamed of our party I saw big smiles, giggling, belly-laughing and silliness. I saw dancing and singing and people letting loose! I was like every bride wanting that dream to come true and the day to remember for a lifetime. I wanted this for all of our guests and loved ones!! Some thorough research into local bands that supported, entertained, worked with couples, and had classically trained musicians brought me to Jon Ardito and his band. I cannot say enough good things about him and Gnomi his lead singer, Charlie the lead guitarist and all of the other musicians (8 of them in all) that played for us on our special day. Jon and his team literally met with us for months! to learn our favorite songs; choreograph a wedding dance for us; learn about our guests and our mothers…and on and on and on. We played games! We had props! Like blues brother glasses and confetti and glow lights! We had a dance-off!
My dream came true. Our daughter’s friends said it was the most fun they’ve ever had at a wedding! Our reception hall director said it was one of the top three if not the most wonderful wedding he ever hosted. He said people were warm and open and friendly and they had fun! The BAND was awesome. Even our saddest loved ones who recently lost loves were dancing and singing to the top of their lungs! People are still talking about our wedding and the wedding band. I see and hear smiles and giggles and belly-laughing. I see singing and dancing and group hugs and LOVE. The only difference now is that they are not visions in my head; but the most treasured pictures of my loved ones on my wedding day! Jon Ardito and his band ARE LOVE and FUN. They make it so easy to feel these things when they sing and play!

This band is top notch! Not only is Jon extremely professional and easy to work with, the band is full of energy and play all of the top 40 hits as well as the classics that you love hearing at weddings. The first thing my Husband and I agreed on when we got engaged- before we even looked at venues- was that we HAD to have a band for our wedding. Knowing the market is flooded with run-of-the-mill wedding bands that have steep price tags, we were absolutely blown away by Soul City Shakedown. Jon is is a breeze to work with and the band is incredibly talented. Like, $10k+ caliber talented. They killed it during our reception and our guests are still going crazy over how great they were. I really can't say enough about working with Jon! We worked together for about 2 years during which time he helped me book entertainment for the private club I worked at. His band Soul City Shakedown was just what we needed at two of our larger events. They played a large variety of music and the musicians are all very talented! He was also able recommend amazing talent for our happy hour events too. He was always a quick call or email away and he even helped with last minute requests and bookings.

I highly recommend Jon Ardito Entertainment! I requested a four people band(Guitar/male vocals, female vocals, upright bass, keyboard) for my wedding. Jon was very helpful, thoughtful and easy to work with! He always response to my question fast and helpful. According to the wedding and the music I want, he recommended a perfect fit for me, I got lots of very helpful suggestion. The price is very reasonable and lower than other bands I considered about. The band worked very great! I love how the keyboard player's performance during the ceremony! It lets nearly everyone cry! It was beautiful and romantic. I also love Ryan, Kat and 2 other instrumentalists' performance during the whole night! Ryan and Kat's sound are perfect. Even after the wedding, I always listen to their songs online. LOVED. LOVED. LOVED. We (and all of our guests) can't say it enough. Band was absolutely fabulous, the play list was EXACTLY what we liked to listen to, and it was much more personal touch compared to having a DJ play records. WOW! Jon and the members of his entertainment group that we hired for our wedding were outstanding. We booked a 3-piece band for cocktail hour, a 5-piece band during dinner, and then switched to a DJ after dinner for dancing. All of the musicians were truly outstanding - I wish that these guys played public gigs on a regular basis because I would absolutely go. The DJ we booked through Jon was also fantastic... he did a great job of getting everyone on the dance floor and really kept the party going. Finally, Jon was a dream to work with - we didn't quite know what we wanted so he worked with us to create something truly special!

Being the huge music fans that we are, booking the right band to play our wedding was a top priority for us. With that being said, my wife and I can honestly not say enough good things about Jon and his company.

For our ceremony we had a string quartet; for our cocktail hour we had a jazz duo; and for the ceremony we had a 7-piece band. Jon took care of everything and needed very little from us (unlike some wedding vendors who ask you for the same information multiple times). They were very flexible in learning two songs for our "first dances", as well as several others. We had a pretty specific vision for the overall genres/tones of music that we wanted to be played and the dance floor was never even close to being vacant during the entire 4.5-hour reception.

We showcased several other similar bands (6 to 8-piece type "big bands"), and all of their renditions seemed to blend together. Soul City Shakedown had a very concise sound yet each song had it's own personality. Also, the wide variety of music they are able to play is fantastic and they will certainly cater to your individual taste. We requested lots of 70s, 80s, 90s, Motown, etc. and very little to no top 40s, and they worked with us on the setlist, giving us exactly what we were looking for.

We received non-stop compliments from our guests that night and the next morning on how awesome the band was. My mom even said to me, "never in 35+ years of knowing him, have I seen your father dance that much!"

If you want a similar experience (minimal hassle leading up to the wedding and lots of dancing on the day of the wedding) then go with Jon Ardito Entertainment!
