Suzanne and her team really went above and beyond for my clients. I hired her as a wedding coordinator and she was a strong partner to me throughout the entire process!! She was very informative and flexible to my clients needs. She helped tremendously day of, by putting out little emergencies that came up through the day. I highly recommend for any bride.Johnson Catering's reply:

Cathryne Sent on 11/14/2017I can't rave enough about Suzanne and her team. Everyone was top notch in service and professionalism. Leading up to the event - Suzanne was very patient with me through many changes all the way up to crunch time - two days before the event. Onsite-Patrick, Nikki and Lizzie went above and beyond, and even assisted with the wedding procession when we were ready to walk down the aisle. All you ladies, it was so much fun having you guys there! The food was AMAZING; the table settings and bar set-up was classic/elegant. Everything was on point, I do not have a single complaint! Suzanne, Nikki, Lizzie, and Patrick (and anyone else I missed-sorry it was a crazy night)- Thank you so much for everything !!!!! -

Mekenzi Sent on 01/04/2013Johnson Catering did a great job at my wedding! We had an authentic Spanish wedding and Johnson Catering exceeded all of our expectations. Suzanne prepared a delicious Spanish dinner with tapas included, which our guests loved! Suzanne was very prompt and professional with all aspects of her service. She was in contact with us months before our wedding and was there to assist at a moments notice. She went out of her way to accommodate us with her catering services. She even let us borrow some supplies free of charge! Suzanne was great to work with and I would definitely recommend Johnson Catering in the future. Thanks Suzanne! -

Sheena Sent on 06/26/2012My Husband & I decided to get married & had a wedding 3 weeks later. Suzanne Johnson from Johnson Catering was absolutely amazing. She helped me not only with planning a delicious & budget friendly meal for my guests, but she also helped me with tables & linens, helped organize the set up of the location, set up day of & she referred me to a wonderful cake maker. :-) My husband & I couldn't have been happier! The food tasted fabulous! All of the guests loved it and most guests went home with LEFTOVERS! They were thrilled! She even catered to special requests that I had for individual guests. Our Wedding was perfect & I truly feel that I could not have pulled everything off without Suzanne's help. We have referred Johnson Catering to everyone we know and we look forward to hiring her again & again for future events. Tip: You MUST try the Risotto!! ;-) -

People loved the food, especially the tri tip and mousaka, and they went back for seconds. I found Suzanne responsive to questions and willing to adapt. Her staff was very friendly with the guests. The one issue I had was that I wish that she and her staff came earlier to set up. It felt as though they were running behind. -

User1309458 Sent on 08/31/2013Overall the food was great...the chicken was just a little dry and vegi's a little cold but everything tasted great. Suzanne seemed a little short with her staff but that could have been due to her leg pain. Everything looked great. I think there was a little miscommunication regarding what time the clean up the next day should take place but I think everything worked out okay. The only other thing that I can comment on how I wish we had known about the additional cost for the set up and tear down for our two locations earlier so we could have planned for it. I do appreciate that Suzanne worked with us on the cost of that though.

To say I was disappointed with my experience and interactions with Suzanne of Johnson Catering & Events is an understatement. Johnson catering was on the short list of vendors that my venue provided to me, so I had not personal recommendations to go off with planning from out of state.
Unfortunately, I should have seen the signs. She was late and running behind schedule for our tasting. Since it was a destination wedding, we scheduled the tasting at our venue on the weekend we were in town with our parents to plan, and our weekend was jam-packed with vendor appointments, so this didn't sit well with me. We did enjoy the flavor and tastes of many of the dishes we tried, so that's what we focused on.
Our personalities and communication styles did not seem to mesh well, but she was pretty responsive to emails, and called me with questions.
Then, on the big day-- Suzanne was late!!!! (That is something she only admitted to me when we had a phone conversation after the wedding mind you.) I am not exaggerating this when I write that this negatively impacted our ENTIRE reception. And makes me heated and sick to my stomach simultaneously while writing this even now. The groom and I were whisked away early for some couple photos before sunset -- good thing, since we wouldn't get a chance for sunset photos later :( --, and instead of coming back to our guests all eating, or at the very least, the last tables making their way through the buffet line. Everyone was just sitting there- with no food! It STILL was not ready. Had Suzanne communicated with someone and updated us that she was running late and needed more time we could have made adjustments -- cocktail hour could have been extended a touch so people were still mingling and snacking (and not just drinking!), we could have done
speeches, we could have moved up our specialty dances before food was served, or many other important aspects that were included in our day-of timeline. Because of this lack of communication, our guests were left sitting at tables, drinking, no food or entertainment, and our timeline was completely screwed up and majorly behind schedule! It was so bad, that by the time we got to the specialty dances, we had family members who were getting ready to leave. I had to convince my aunt and uncle (who were to win the anniversary dance on their 60th wedding anniversary!) to stay for just a bit longer for the dances. It was embarrassing that we had to scramble around finding family and special people. In the end, our reception had 75 minutes for open dancing!!! It should have been over 2 1/2 hours!! People say the day goes too fast, well it goes even faster when your caterer is late!
I do not recommend you working with Suzanne and Johnson Catering for your special day. As you can tell, simple mistakes were handled SO poorly and detrimentally effected our special day. It still breaks my heart how poorly it unfolded. Food was yummy, although some people told us they didn't get enough, but the ripple effect of being late was too much to overcome.

DO NOT HIRE. 0 STARS! Worst catering ever. Worst part of my wedding. Awful service, demanded more money for things not in contract, and then kept calling my family members demanding money. DO NOT HIRE. Highly painful experience, especially after paying her so much. I selected some of the more expensive items and food was cold or just flavorless.
Suzanne has been very difficult to work with. Her emails after our event asked for more money, and she played my family members against one another; awful customer service. Her employees were on their phones instead of working, and when one came to clean up, he cursed at our guests.
Vegan meals were downright awful, Filet mignon was cold half way through eating it, her sides were the most plain and bland food imaginable. I have been very frustrated by all this as I felt like she NICKLE AND DIMED US EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.
I would cook your own food, or hire someone else. -

Kimberly Sent on 06/05/2012This is the worst catering company!!! I used this company to cater my wedding. I had a plated served meal. Food was served cold, undercooked, and worst of all the company RAN OUT OF FOOD. Many of my guests did not receive all the food I paid for. When I contacted Ms. Johnson about this she was unwilling to provide me with a refund for the poor service (even though she admitted to running out of food and serving cold food). I was then forced to take the company to Small Claims Court on August 29. The judge ruled in my favor and Johnson Catering & Events was required to refund me money. Ms. Johnson has NOT made payment to me. I have contacted her requesting the money and was given this response "I will not be giving you a cent." ATTENTION BRIDES: Do not use this company. I have never been so dissatisfied by a company before. The owner is unprofessional, untruthful, and unethical. I repeat: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
