From our first meeting with John all the way through the final shots at our wedding, my wife and I were very impressed and could not be happier for choosing John to capture our special day. We met with 4 different photographers before deciding, and John was the only one who really did his homework of our venue and how he wanted to capture our day and presented it to us in a very professional and impressive manner. His communication was top notch, especially with all the changes COVID threw at us. His ideas/suggestions regarding best locations/poses for pics turned out to be perfect as we have already received 6 teaser pics only 2 days after our wedding that look amazing! My wife and I could not be more pleased with John and his team, and I know we will recommend them to friends, and we will use them again for any future professional photography needs! Overall, an A++ experience. -

John and his team were very responsive, accommodating, and friendly from the start of the process all the way to after the wedding! They are all very experienced, amazing photographers that captured every moment of our wedding to the fullest and made a timeline to make sure nothing was missed. We received our pictures back very quickly, especially considering they hand edit each one! We were so happy to work with John and his team and couldn’t have asked for anything more! -

We previously picked a photographer and we did an engagement shoot and the pictures were horrible. I was not only disappointed but stressed out about not having a photographer for our wedding. When I came across John and took a look at his page, I was anxious to set up a meeting, he immediately set up a zoom call with us. From the first conversation I got the warm and fuzzy feeling that he was the one. My Fiance said he felt very comfortable with him as well. Our engagement shoot was great despite the rain, we still got great pictures. I am so excited for our wedding now that I know we have someone who can capture our special day. If I could give 10 stars I would, John Soule Photography is exceptional in every way! The responsiveness to emails and calls, the professionalism from John Soule and his team of photographers but especially the quality of their work. I can't say enough good things about this company. John and Berni were fun to work with, they gave pointers on how to capture the best poses, the engagement pictures all turned out great. Looking forward to working with them again at the wedding. -

Anniversary Photo Shoot
John and Bernie are an amazing team! There was an uninvited guest at my wedding in October 2022, Hurricane Ian. Unfortunately, the beautiful bayside sunset pictures my wife and I had planned were no longer able to be done (along with other pictures around the waterfront venue). We decided to book a bridal session with John for one year later (at a fantastic price!), fingers crossed the weather would hold this time, which it did! John and Bernie made the trip back out to our venue for the sunset pictures we were unable to capture last year. Since we didn't have a schedule to adhere to, we were able to take a variety of pictures on the water, on the beach, on the dock, and even on a boat. They made the experience wonderful, and we felt like we were right back in the middle of our celebration, but celebrating in private. The pictures turned out amazing and we cannot wait to finally see our wedding album put together by John. Thank you John! -

John and his team did a fantastic job with our wedding photos! We were so excited when he sent us a sneak peak less than 12 hours after the wedding. We chose the package with the included Engagement Photos (which we ended up doing with John and one of his staff on my birthday!) and it was one of the best birthdays I ever had. John also gave amazing advice leading up to the wedding, including helping us adjust our timeline several times. At the wedding itself, things were a little hectic at first because the photographers with the bridal party beforehand were late, which made things feel a bit rushed for a while. However, we our location was in the mountains and didn't always get great cell service. John's team quickly made up for lost time, and took absolutely gorgeous photos. I was also very grateful when I reached out to John recently, after a significant delay on our part (we've gotten pretty bad at checking our joint email once our wedding ended!), to finally get our wedding album. Even though it had been almost a year since the wedding, he was more than happy to work with me and quickly put it in the works. He even sent it via Priority Mail, and it arrived just a few days after I contacted him, with plenty of time for me to surprise my husband with it for our Anniversary the other day. We couldn't be happier with it. I would highly recommend John and his team; our photos were outstanding, and really capture the emotion of each moment. Every time we look at them, it puts us right back at our wedding. Thank you, John! -

Perfect Team!
We had the pleasure of working with John Soule and team for our wedding day and everything went absolutely wonderful! We chose to use both photography and videography services and had a full team of 3 photographers and 2 videographers for our day which we know were able to capture every moment and every angle possible. John even came to our rehearsal day to help scope out some possible photos for our wedding day and gave us some pointers on how to pose, dip, and overall what to expect. The wedding day itself went so smoothly, they arrived while we were getting ready in the morning to get some get ready shots. In the meantime, they were also taking close up shots of our rings, dress, and details so it didn't add any extra time. Dawn rode in the limo with us to the church to get some silly pics/videos of just the bridal party. We also had a first touch/first look before the ceremony. The ceremony went perfectly and Dawn rode again with just the bride and groom to get some shots in the limo, which we can't wait to see! At our reception, we got some more pics, and even one big group shot from a ladder which in turn got everyone on the dance floor. We had such a wonderful experience with this team and I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants exceptional service for their special day. We already received a couple of sneak peeks of our wedding which look absolutely stunning! We were in great hands with John Soule and team and were so lucky to have found them on WeddingWire. -

Our experience with John and Bernie was nothing short of amazing! We've only had our engagement session done, but we 100% know, without a doubt, that he will deliver the best photographs at our megamony next year. He is very easy to work with, and is very knowledgeable and experienced in his field. He came prepared with a list of excellent poses for us, and his ideas and editing were breathtaking. The second best part, is he will fit well within the budget. We are getting 3 photographers for the price of 2! We are very pleased with our engagement photos and look forward to working with him and his staff at our megamony.
Update 04Oct2022: Our wedding weekend has come and gone, and as we expected, John's team delivered! The weather was not what we were hoping for, unfortunately a hurricane came up the coast and sent lots of wind and rain our way in Annapolis, MD. However, John's team was very accommodating with all the last minute changes we had to do since outside pictures were no longer an option. Even when I forgot to mention to John a change in plan of where the groom would be to start, he was able to quickly get everything back on track. His team also made sure to get all the shots on the list I sent over before the wedding, even though I anticipated not having time for everything. They even threw in a lot of suggestions that are going to turn out amazing and I cannot wait to get the full package. We even forgot about one thing, and if it hadn't been on our list, we would have missed it. Thank you John, Bernie, and Dawn for an amazing night and capturing each moment! -

John and his team are GREAT! Engagement photos were included in the package we selected which was a good opportunity to meet and get a feel for each other. We had a great time. We also had some family portraits taken which gave our bridal party an opportunity to work with John and his team prior to the wedding. During our wedding, they were with us every step of the way to the very end of the night. My wedding was 9/4 and I received proofs for review 9/9. Mr. Soule has been very responsive, informative and professional. I highly recommend him and his team. -

John Soule Photography did such an amazing job. My husband and I don’t take a lot of pictures of ourselves so we were kind of worried how they would turn out. But they blew it out of the water from the second we met them till they left. (They gave us pointers to smile the whole time and how to pose.) We are amazed how well the pictures turned out. They captured every moment so perfectly. We highly recommend them. I would also like to add that we got all our pictures back in 4 days which was really nice. The teasers just kept us wanting too see more. Thank you so much we love all the pictures. -

Engagement and wedding photos
We had such a lovely experience working with John and Berni. They exceeded our expectations with our engagement photos and wedding photos. When the pandemic hit they were extremely accommodating, patient and professional, they even gifted my kids with toys which they loved. I would highly recommend anyone to work with them, they really captured the best moments and the results when we saw our photos were amazing. -

Amazing Team!
John Soule and his team were incredibly wonderful to work with. They are very personable and extremely knowledgeable in their gift. As an avid photographer myself, I can attest to the phenomenal job they do. Their communication was professional and they were organized during our walk through and day of the wedding. Having more than one photographer to cover those important moments was invaluable in capturing every angle and facial expression in the moment. Just having poignant images of my walk down the aisle from multiple perspectives was incredible and their unobtrusive style during the ceremony was appreciated. My husband and I especially appreciated the special images John captured – they are true works of art we will forever cherish. John’s team are a wonderful asset to anyone’s wedding day! -

We did a lot of research on different photographers and landed on John Soule photography. As someone who is not a picture taker, I was hesitant heading into my engagement shoot. With that said, the shoot went incredibly smooth. John was clearly knowledgeable and an expert in the field of photography. He made me and my fiancé fully comfortable during the engagement session. John and Berni were incredible! They were extremely professional and organized. They did the most amazing day after pictures and I especially liked how John and Berni worked together to get us the best shots. It wasn't just like a rush job or a let's just get this over with thing. They really put their heart into making ART for their clients. We will have these memories for the rest of our lives and our kid's lives. We are so thankful. Can't wait to book them for maternity pictures. :) A bigger thanks couldn't be had. AMAZING Photographer
John and his team were a joy to work with before, during and after our wedding. John made getting ready so easy - he helped coordinate a timeline, gave instructions for us and our bridal party on how to pose, and helped us put together a shot list for our family photos. He thought of things that I wouldn't have thought of. His team took SO many beautiful shots that it's incredibly difficult to choose our favorites for posting and printing. He was also so nice and accommodating in fitting things in we requested. He and his team were also just so fun to be around - they matched our vibe (including our groomsmen's silly photo requests), making for perfect photos that really fit who we are.
I'm so thankful we found him, as I wasn't worried about photos at ALL on our wedding day. I knew everything would go swimmingly, and it did. My husband and I strongly recommend him! We look forward to going back to him the next time we're looking to photograph a big life event. -

John and his crew were the absolute best! From consultation to the day of they showed nothing but professionalism. I have to say, the reason we chose them is the fact that they showed passion in what they do. We did a lot of research looking for the styles we liked but after meeting them I felt very comfortable that we had definitely made the right decision. They were there for our rehearsal to map out the grounds and see what the plan was which helped for the day of. All of the crew were amazing (John, Berni, Dawn, & Ben). Super respectful, friendly, and all over the place to capture every moment! I highly recommend John Soule!!! Very very pleased! -

John Soule and staff are the nicest people to work with. Their choreography was unmatched with their attention to details, by taking everything into consideration to capture the most special and fleeting moments without interfering. Prior to our initial meeting, John researched the venue locations to observe the natural elements and visualize how they would play on the big day. The team joined the bridal party at the venue the night before to get a feel for the space and prepare and plan for what was expected. They worked flawlessly within the schedule, and managed the bride's extensive list of shots with ease. John's technical knowledge of the art was adapted to capture the joy filled moments of a very personal event. We look forward to working with John again for special family occasions! -

Amazing. Blew our minds!
John and his team are hands down the best photographers we could have had on our big day. They stayed with me as COVID changed my wedding plans, to a new date (one month push back) and a smaller guest list. They remained calm, cool, collected and professional through the entire situation! I cannot thank them enough for this!!
On our big day, the entire team showed up ready to make our day magical. They were able to catch moments that I honestly don't remember and I was so happy to see them caught on film. They made my husband and I so comfortable throughout the entire day and we now have photos to look back on that are phenomenal. We have 1,000 photos to look back on and remember our wedding day and I never expected to have that many moments captured. Honestly, our photos look like something out of movie. I can't recommend this team enough.
If you are getting married, this is the best team around to have by your side!! -

They were on time, competent, confident, flexible and did all they possibly could to ensure our special day was amazing! He was in constant contact with us during the entire process, and was extremely detail-oriented. John impressed us from the start, patiently working in my daughter's hyper golden retriever into their engagement shots--certainly no easy feat! Even in the final week before the wedding, John braved the DC/NoVA traffic to visit the venue and take test shots with the bride and groom in preparation for their big day. You can definitely tell that John loves his work. But most importantly to me, my daughter and new son-in-law simply loved him! I wholeheartedly recommend John Soule and his team for all of your photography needs!! I do not envy my daughter for now having to go through the many hundreds of quality photos that he took, and somehow picking only 50 for the wedding album!!

Christina Sent on 11/14/2017Weddingwire wouldn't let me write a second review, so I am updating my previous review because I would like others to know how amazing John and team were on my wedding day.
I got married a little under three weeks ago (3/10) and have already received my wedding album, a little over 650 pictures (he initially took ~1600). I was VERY impressed with how fast I have received the pictures as I know other photographers take weeks to get them back to you. Let me tell you. Every single picture looks amazing. I would absolutely recommend John to capture your wedding shots :)

After contacting over 15 different photographers, my fiance and I decided on going with John Soule as our wedding photographer and I am so excited that we did! After exchanging a few emails, we had our first consultation with John. John was even accommodating as we had to reschedule our initial consultation due to my fiance coming down with the flu. When we had our consultation, John was organized and very professional. He was able to show us some of the different types of edits he is able to do to the pictures, and showed us a sample timeline (down to the minute!!) of the wedding day. His organization is one of the main reasons we decided to go with John. From the time we were in first contact to the time we had our engagement shoot was about a month. My fiance and I had our engagement shoot on Sunday 11/12. We were even able to incorporate our dog into some of the pictures, which definitely meant a lot to us. After the engagement session we went to dinner and by the time we got home we had a couple teasers waiting in my email for us! I was expecting the pictures to start coming in a couple days, not a few hours. We got the rest of our proofs by the time I woke up today 11/14. John has exceeded our expectations and we are so excited to have him shoot our wedding day. I HIGHLY recommend John to those who are still searching for a wedding photographer. -

He stayed in contact with me right from the start and emailed me all the way up until my wedding day. We had a meet up at my wedding location where he came very prepared with pictures of the venue he had taken the day before of sites we should take pictures at on our big day. He also created a timeline of exactly what pictures should be taken and roughly how long it would take (walking from ceremony to bridge, etc.). John was very attentive and I could not have asked for a better photographer to capture my big day! Thank you John for your beautiful pictures! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest!

John Soule agreed to shoot my daughter's wedding on very short notice, stayed in constant contact leading up to the day (even when I didn't have time to respond, it was a relief knowing that he was on top of things), and went above and beyond with everything he included in the package. He started sending us images within hours of the conclusion of the wedding and they are beautiful! Cannot recommend him enough. You will not be disappointed!
