My husband and I got married to express our love and commitment... but we had a wedding to have the dance party of our dreams. And thanks to Joey, we had one so epic we're still getting compliments about it months later.
Almost everyone who attended our wedding loves music and dancing, and among us we have a varied and sometimes eclectic taste in music. So aside from the usual basic logistics (i.e. guest comfort and good food), having an exceptional dance party was our most important singular entity. Yes, of course we wanted a stellar emcee for the whole day, but we also wanted a DJ who could actually mix songs from different genres in real-time, read the crowd, and make artistic decisions on the fly. Joey did all that and more (and was reasonably-priced to boot).
So after interviewing several potential DJs who were more in the "emcees-who-press-play" category (which is perfectly fine, but not what we were looking for), Joey stood out as someone who also has experience DJing at nightclubs and making music himself, enthusiastically answering my many questions on his approach to mixing music both live and in advance. Joey was involved and flexible from the very start, and his excitement for incorporating whatever off-the-wall request we could throw at him made the whole process even more fun. He was also more than game for our not-so-traditional bouquet toss, an all-out brawl meticulously timed to specific parts of a song.
But it wasn't just the dance party that I recommend him for. For the whole day, Joey went above and beyond - he did an amazing job with the ceremony, including dealing with last-minute changes so seamlessly that nobody was the wiser. During cocktail hour and dinner, he did a great job of mixing classic "wedding music" our older guests would enjoy with higher energy beats tailored to our friends. And throughout the reception, he kept the guests enthusiastically engaged, somehow getting to know our family and friends all while keeping the music flowing and adapting to schedule changes on the fly.
After the party was the after party, and he kept the dance floor FULL from the moment dinner ended to the wee hours of the morning. And that was when we found out he also knew exactly when to switch from bespoke dance club vibes to early aughts, middle-school-dance-party hits in the final hour, something we didn't even know we needed until some familiar hits activated us like sleeper agents. By the end of the night, our friends were chanting his name like we were seeing our favorite artist performing live.
But you don't just have to take my word for it - months later we're still getting compliments about the dance party across all age ranges. And the unanimous feedback is not just that it was great, but that it was the best wedding dance party they've ever been to. The fact that he provided this experience for such a competitive price still feels like a dream.
So in sum, if you're looking for a true master of ceremony who can also make it feel like you're at a dance club specifically tailored to the tastes of you and your friends, I strongly recommend hiring an actual DJ who happens to also be tremendous at emceeing weddings. If you’re looking for a DJ look no further than Joey. He was amazing. Such a great DJ- went above and beyond. Even brought my husband and I food to make sure we ate! Taught the kids how to DJ! Everyone had a blast and danced and sang all night. Thanks again Joey! -

Genuinely amazing human, best value for the dollar you will find.
TL:DR Joey has the best pricing and service package that I have ever found for wedding DJ service.
To preface, I have attended, planned, and stood in over 2 dozen weddings over the last 15 years. When I found Joey he put on the best show at a friend's wedding I had ever seen. Fast forward to my wedding planning, he spent over an hour on the phone talking about our tastes in music, what themes we wanted for each part of our wedding day, and he had valuable suggestions and was genuinely excited to help make ours the best day possible for US rather than offer a copy and paste service. And it worked amazingly well. Since then I have recommended him to several other friends and they had the same experience. This included dealing with a literal thunderstorm suddenly rolling in; he immediately called on the groomsmen to relocate the equipment from the tent into the building patio and my guy didnt even miss a beat by playing Thunderstuck and kept it going into the night! People are still talking about that a year later.
Pricing: he keeps his rates competitive with all other DJ companies, typically coming in around 10-20% lower in total package (if im remembering correctly) . You can find less expensive deals but will get much less value for the dollar comparatively.
Service and package: the service includes several things that other companies charge extra premiums (I may forget some things here) - MC for crowd management and announcements through the entire event, custom Playlist for all parts of the day - arrival, cocktail hour, ceremony, dance party, etc. He provides full sound system and lighting at no charge as well. These are high markup premiums for other DJ companies. -

He helped us through the entire process, asked thorough questions of what we wanted, and made a ton of great suggestions that made our day incredibly special. From working with the planners, vendors, and staff, to managing the event flow and timeline, Joey was awesome. The most impressive thing about Joey is that he knows how to read the room - whether it is as an MC at the reception or as the DJ during the dancing, he handled everything perfectly. I first met Joey when he was the DJ and MC at our high school reunion. He did such a great job, I recently hired him for our wedding! He is fun, professional and cared about what was important to us for that day. He played fantastic tunes that kept everyone on the dance floor and having a great time! Great music and even better energy!
Great energy from the start and very responsive throughout the planning process. His planning app was very easy to use. He helped craft an amazing experience and curated a night of music that perfectly fit both my husband and me while keeping our friends and family on the dance floor all night. He was focused on our needs and kept the flow of the evening seamless. He even jumped in to help pull foxtails out of my dress after our vineyard photos. Truly a team player! Joey was the best!
Joey was incredible! From the moment the music started, he brought such great energy and kept the party going all night. He really knew how to read the crowd and played the perfect mix of songs to keep everyone on the dance floor. Oldies in the beginning and new age as the night went. The transitions were smooth, and you could tell he put real thought into the playlist and the flow of the night. He totally understood the vibe we wanted and made it even better than we imagined. Joey was the DJ for my sister's wedding last year, and he truly made the night!
We had few issues with the DJ at our own wedding years back, so we are no stranger to the importance of a DJ that truly meshes with the group and is additive to the overall experience. For example, our own wedding DJ pronounced our NAME WRONG when announcing us "for the very first time!" That is the kind of nonsense you will never find at a Joey the DJ wedding, because Joey truly cares about his couples and their people.
As the maid of honor, Joey spent a few moments with me before the reception to talk to me, ask what kind of music I liked, and chat about the couple. When it came time for him to announce me for my MOH speech, he had thoughtful and personal details to include, which I was so impressed by, since we had only just met. It made me feel more comfortable going up to speak, and I appreciated it so much.
At a wedding, your DJ isn't just spinning tunes for the dance floor. They are also the emcee who will control the flow of the day. Joey wears this hat and performs his duties gracefully & seamlessly, helping transition large groups from ceremony to reception to dance floor with ease.
I have gotten to see Joey work again at another wedding, and I can confirm that he brings the same fun, class, energy, and "anything for the couple" spirit to each event that he works. I've seen Joey help carry heavy bottles of wine, assist elderly folks walking on uneven ground, and even jump into the pool with the couple at the end of the night. He takes time to talk with the parents of the bride/groom before they speak, so he can put them at ease, and so he has a personal note to touch on when introducing them. The music will be a beautiful reflection of the diversity of the crowd, because Joey does his homework and asks in advance, and because he has a deep knowledge and love of all music.

DJ Joey was seriously amazing. What stood out the most was how good he was as an MC, which I don’t think people realize is such a big deal. Without someone guiding the flow of the night and keeping the energy right, weddings can get awkward really fast. Joey completely avoided that. Everything flowed smoothly, the mood always felt right, and nothing ever felt forced or uncomfortable. On top of that, he was so fun, sweet, and easy to work with. We can't recommend Joey enough as the DJ and MC for our wedding! 10/10 He brought the energy, the vibes, and perfectly matched the style we were going for. He helped make our day feel effortless.
His communication throughout the process was top notch, giving us ideas when we needed them and helping us to build our perfect playlist. Post-wedding, our friends and family gave wonderful reviews saying they couldn't leave the dance floor because there were so many hits. We even got some props from our older family about the cocktail hour and dinner playlists. I think a huge help was the app Joey uses to build the playlists and ensure the right songs play at the right times, from the ceremony throughout there were no missed beats or awkward moments.
The best part was just how well his energy fit in with our friends and family, as he brought people up for speeches, or talked to each table during dinner - it was truly perfect. Very professional from start to finish. On a day were everything else was crazy, he had everything he needed to have covered, covered. Did not have to worry about a thing.
